00:03 It's time to share, there's a world out there
00:07 Looking for a friend like Jesus
00:10 It's time to share, there's a world out there
00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:20 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time,
00:24 Hi, boys and girls.
00:25 How do you like my airplane?
00:27 Look, I can just spin the propeller right here
00:29 and go zoo...
00:31 and dive right back down and up again, look at that.
00:34 You know, a real airplane is an amazing invention.
00:37 If you ever have the opportunity
00:39 to watch an air show,
00:40 you will see airplanes like this one
00:43 and others that are flying in formation,
00:45 zooming, and twisting in the air
00:47 and diving straight down
00:49 and then at the last minute,
00:51 they pull themselves right back up into the clouds.
00:53 Oh, it's very exciting.
00:55 But long before the Wright Brothers
00:57 invented the airplane
00:58 and others contributed to their ideas
01:00 to the concept of flight,
01:02 god made birds that could fly swiftly.
01:05 And birds that fly in formation.
01:07 Did you know there're birds that can swoop and turn
01:10 and change directions faster than you can even blink?
01:13 He even created birds that can fly backwards.
01:16 Can you imagine that?
01:19 You know people interested in the principles of flight,
01:21 they studied birds to try to understand their movements
01:24 and their speed and they were trying to figure out
01:27 how birds could stay up in the air?
01:31 And you know what, they did learned
01:33 a lot from the birds?
01:34 In just a moment, Ranger Jim is going to show you
01:37 a really interesting bird, the Brown Pelican
01:40 and if you want to watch Brown Pelicans,
01:42 you might spot them in salt water base
01:44 and may be on beaches and in shallow inlets.
01:49 Did you know that Pelicans have huge beaks
01:52 and they're perfect for catching fish
01:54 and swallowing them whole?
01:55 And if you're lucky, you might see a flock of them
01:59 perhaps as many as 20.
02:01 They are lined up one behind the other
02:03 flying like dive bombers,
02:04 great wings stretched out
02:06 as they follow in perfect formation
02:09 or you might see one hovering in the sky
02:11 just watching the ocean waves.
02:13 And then all of a sudden like a flash,
02:15 it will dive straight down,
02:18 the beak is first into the waves
02:20 and then they flap it's great wings
02:22 as with a silvery fish in its beak
02:24 and it mounts back up into the sky.
02:26 You know human beings have achieved marvelous things
02:30 with the mind that God has given them.
02:32 But only God could have created the Pelican.
02:36 Now listen as Ranger Jim tells you
02:38 a little bit more about Brown Pelican.
02:41 He's gonna show you some too.
02:49 Hi, boys and girls, welcome to Nature Time.
02:52 We're glad you can join us today.
02:53 This is Ranger Jim.
02:54 We once again at Homosassa Springs in Florida.
02:57 And we have my friend,
02:59 Ranger Kin, with us this afternoon.
03:01 And Kin is going to be telling us
03:02 something about the Brown Pelican.
03:03 Kin, tell the boys and girls something about these birds.
03:05 Brown Pelicans, Brown Pelicans,
03:07 they are pretty common around Florida.
03:09 You can see back here, you have couple of adults,
03:12 the one with the white head
03:14 and the brown stripe on the back.
03:16 They are mature birds, five and older.
03:20 All they eat is fish.
03:22 Their 100% diet is fish
03:25 and they are simple animals.
03:27 All they want is eat and have fun.
03:31 These animals, they get injured in the wild
03:32 because we go fishing
03:33 and we leave all those hook hanging around
03:35 and all those fishing lines.
03:36 That's how these guys get injured.
03:38 That's why they get here.
03:39 And you can see some of them
03:40 they're missing like half a wing
03:41 or they got frozen elbows.
03:43 Just because of monofilament that fishermen leave.
03:46 Yeah, Yes, the fishing line and hooks.
03:49 They go after the bait and they get injured.
03:51 Yeah, that's too bad about that.
03:52 They are beautiful birds.
03:54 How many eggs do these birds lay?
03:56 They lay about three eggs.
03:57 Only two of them will hatch.
04:00 The third one, they will push him out of the nest.
04:02 Then you have the three.
04:03 Well, then how long would they live?
04:05 An adult would live?
04:06 Well, a captive Pelican,
04:10 the record has been 22 years.
04:12 That's a good long life, isn't it?
04:14 Yeah, for a Pelican.
04:15 What about-- tell the boys and girls
04:17 about this pouch that we see on their throat.
04:19 What is this about?
04:20 Okay, That pouch is when they go fishing,
04:21 when they go into water to fish,
04:23 they can dive from 30, 40 feet.
04:24 They go in the water, open the beak--
04:26 that big beak, go in the water get water and fish.
04:30 Once they come to the surface,
04:31 they just squeeze all the water out.
04:33 Squeeze all that water out and keep the fish.
04:35 That's how they fish.
04:37 Like a throw net.
04:38 Yeah. Neat.
04:39 Instead of using hooks, they use the pouch.
04:40 I see, What keeps them from being killed
04:42 by diving from 50 feet into the water?
04:44 Uh, [444], you wanna call them.
04:47 you see that baby goes straight into the water
04:49 and when they bring the wings all the way back
04:51 so they don't go straight in the water all the way flat.
04:54 They just bring the wings out
04:56 and just look like a bullet going in.
04:57 I see, other words, they stretch out their beak
05:00 and align all the vertebrae and their neck
05:02 and they go in like a dart.
05:03 And so they don't do a belly flop
05:05 like we sometimes do when we dive, boys and girls.
05:07 Okay, they do it the right way.
05:09 Okay, and you were speaking of a juvenile here.
05:12 How long-- well, you said
05:14 it would be five years, didn't you
05:15 that before they would become an adult?
05:17 An adult.
05:18 What is this red-headed fella here
05:20 [5:20] to join the party?
05:22 That's a Sandhill Crane. Okay.
05:24 He just see all the action and he jumps in
05:27 but they don't eat fish at all.
05:28 I see, He's an opportunist.
05:30 He's just looking for something to eat then.
05:31 Yeah, you wanna call that Great Blue Heron,
05:33 that's an opportunistic bird.
05:35 If I threw a fish in the water,
05:36 he will get it and take it back.
05:38 I see. Okay.
05:39 There is another bird here that has speckles all over here
05:42 A very unusual bird, what is that one, Kin?
05:44 Okay, That really a [5.45] bird.
05:45 It's a North American Gannet.
05:48 Okay, this is a bird spent all his life in the ocean.
05:51 When you see him on the ground
05:52 because they're nesting or they're injured,
05:54 They're sick. That's a [556] bird,
05:57 that what is brown with speckles.
05:59 When they became an Adult,
06:01 it will be white with a yellow head.
06:02 But the only time they come to land,
06:04 then is to nest unless they've been injured or they--
06:07 That's right or they're sick, yeah.
06:09 And so the animals are brought here.
06:10 The birds are brought here.
06:11 And they recuperate and then they're released if possible.
06:14 Some of them we will release if they are releasable,
06:16 but some of them they come from wildlife estate,
06:19 some wildlife hospitals around the state, they come in
06:23 because they can be released back into the wild.
06:25 That's why they are here, this guy.
06:27 If they are injured beyond recovery,
06:29 they can lose a wing or part of a wing
06:30 or something, they can't be released.
06:32 Yeah, any kind of injury. And so you keep them here
06:33 then in your educational program
06:35 you go out into schools and nursing homes
06:37 and things of that nature.
06:38 Isn't that neat, boys and girls?
06:39 It is the what-- I tell Ranger Kin,
06:41 that I will almost work here without wages.
06:43 He has a very good job.
06:44 He used to feed these animals
06:46 and care for them all the time.
06:47 And if I were to ask you
06:49 what was your favorite bird in all the park?
06:51 what would you say would be your favorite bird?
06:53 One of them would be the Pelican
06:54 because they are amazing.
06:55 This is an amazing bird, the way they survive.
06:58 They are truly, that an amazing bird.
07:01 And we have the Brown Pelican and the White Pelican.
07:03 But these are Brown Pelicans here.
07:04 This is all Brown Pelicans.
07:06 They are all Brown Pelicans. Isn't that neat?
07:08 Wouldn't it be nice, boys and girls,
07:09 if we could have Ranger Kin come with me
07:12 to your school and bring some of these creatures
07:14 and you see what I'm waving here?
07:15 This is the Pelican's favorite food.
07:17 This is hairy and it's frozen.
07:19 But, boys and girls,
07:20 once again we have found if it's a Pelican
07:23 whatever it may be, our wonderful Father made it
07:26 and He made it perfect the first time.
07:27 So as always, Ranger Jim saying
07:30 don't forget to tell Jesus you love Him
07:32 because He really does love you.
07:56 I'm never gonna get this right.
07:59 Boys and girls, does it sometimes
08:02 seem that nothing is going right?
08:04 But the Bible says to count it all joy
08:07 even when that stuff happens, right, Rachel?
08:09 Right, in James 1, verses 1 and 2 it says,
08:13 "To count it all joy when trials come
08:15 for through them our faith becomes stronger."
08:18 Yes, boys and girls, we need to count it all joy.
08:26 Count it all joy when those [828] you
08:30 Count it all joy we are told
08:33 To just count it all joy don't let anything upset you
08:38 Don't let anything ever get you complaining
08:40 Just count it all joy
08:45 From the [846] pastel by inspiration of God
08:49 From his own experience he wrote
08:52 There's []
08:56 We'll find it easier to crawl if []
09:00 Count it all joy when [] you
09:03 Count it all joy we are told
09:07 To just count it all joy don't let anything upset you
09:11 Don't let anything ever get you complaining
09:14 Just count it all joy
09:18 [9:25]
09:33 Count it all joy when [] you
09:37 Count it all joy we are told
09:40 To just count it all joy don't let anything upset you
09:44 Don't let anything ever get you complaining
09:46 Just count it all joy
09:49 [9:50]
09:54 Just count it all joy
10:09 My family loves the outdoors,
10:12 campaign, picnics everything.
10:14 So my mom created a recipe
10:16 that we could eat on the go or outside.
10:18 We call it Sloppy Joes.
10:20 It's messy, so kinda have to eat it outside.
10:24 Read the recipe for you, 2 cups celery, diced,
10:29 1 medium onion, chopped,
10:32 2 tablespoons olive oil,
10:34 1 pound 4 ounces can worthington
10:39 low fat vegetarian burger,
10:41 3 tablespoons sucanat,
10:44 2 tablespoons lemon juice,
10:47 3 tablespoons of Bragg's liquid aminos,
10:52 1 and half cups of ketchup,
10:54 and a 6 ounce can of tomato paste.
10:57 To save time, I've already precooked
10:58 these onions and celery in olive oil.
11:00 I'm going to go ahead and dump those in with the onions.
11:08 Put this inside.
11:15 And our celery and it really doesn't matter
11:18 what order you put these on in.
11:22 You just put them in.
11:28 Next I'm gonna put in the Yves burger.
11:30 You can put-- you can use
11:32 the recipes as Worthington but I like the flavor of Yves.
11:35 So I'm gonna use Yves.
11:37 This in, spread up a little bit.
11:47 It really does not matter which order
11:48 so just pick one and put it in.
11:53 Our ketchup It's in,
12:03 and our Bragg's liquid aminos.
12:15 And then our tomato paste.
12:28 Stir it all up real good.
12:29 I've been camping ever since I was a little girl.
12:33 So I've had these for a long time
12:35 and my dad didn't want us all
12:37 to be couch potatoes or anything.
12:38 So we've always just been campaigning in outdoors
12:42 and so my mom created this
12:44 and this is how we started,
12:46 put in the sucanat. Yeah.
13:00 And stir it all up good, like that.
13:09 And next you wanna take your buns.
13:13 Right here and take one.
13:17 And put it on the plate
13:20 and when it's all done
13:21 after you stir it up and everything,
13:22 you know, just take some,
13:24 put it on your bun, like this
13:29 You see how simple that was?
13:31 Say, you know what on second thought,
13:34 I really don't need to be outside to eat it.
13:37 So I'm just gonna try some right now.
13:43 Mmm, it's delicious.
13:46 Well, remember to keep cooking and eat healthy.
14:00 James, [1400] be with them shortly.
14:03 I want to share something with my friends.
14:06 It was a happy day today.
14:08 But it was sad in the beginning because I failed.
14:11 I, Bartholomew,
14:12 one of Jesus' disciples, I failed.
14:15 You see earlier, Jesus called all His 12 disciples
14:18 and gave us power to go and heal
14:21 and cast out demons
14:23 even we were traveling from city to city
14:26 casting out demons and healing
14:28 the small children and the old people
14:31 and giving happiness to those who needed it.
14:33 It was wonderful, but earlier today
14:36 a father brought a child to us.
14:39 And Jesus was not with us at the time.
14:41 He was at the mountain.
14:43 We see His other three disciples.
14:45 So the father brought him to us.
14:46 The child was demon possessed.
14:49 We searched before until we heal
14:52 those people we caste out demons.
14:54 And this child was laying there and screaming.
14:58 And the foam was coming out of his mouth.
15:00 And he was hitting himself with stone
15:02 and screaming with such a noise
15:04 that just paralyzed the ears.
15:07 And one of the disciples came
15:08 and tried to cast him out and nothing work.
15:11 And the Pharisees started talking.
15:12 And the Pharisees started telling us,
15:14 "Oh, is it the Jesus? Is that the real Jesus?
15:17 This who you follow you can't even cast out the demon."
15:21 So I rule and the crowd round us started laughing.
15:24 Some of the people said, laughing,
15:27 and turned around and walking away.
15:30 So one by one,
15:31 each of us started trying to heal him.
15:34 So it was my turn.
15:35 I thought now I'll have a chance to prove
15:38 who is the greatest out of the disciples.
15:40 And I'll come up to him and heal him.
15:43 And everybody will know
15:44 that I'm the greatest of the disciples.
15:47 So I came out to the little boy.
15:49 He was screaming on the ground and beating himself.
15:53 And I said, "In the name of Jesus,
15:55 demon come out of him."
15:59 But nothing happened. The child was still screaming.
16:03 And the Pharisees started shouting louder,
16:05 "So is this the Jesus that you're following?
16:08 Is He real?" and the crowd started laughing at him.
16:11 But somebody on the very end of the crowd said,
16:15 "Jesus, Jesus is coming. He'll know what to do."
16:18 And everybody turned and there was Jesus.
16:20 He was coming down the mountain.
16:25 And the father ran up to Jesus and said,
16:28 "Please heal him. I brought him to all the man
16:31 and nobody could heal him.
16:33 I brought him from country to country
16:35 doing everything possible and nothing worked.
16:38 The demon was possessed in him
16:40 and he was throwing him too far into the water."
16:43 Jesus said, "Bring the child to me."
16:47 And the father took the child
16:48 and was trying to bring him to Jesus.
16:49 But the child again was laying on the floor
16:52 and beating himself.
16:53 The foam was coming out of his mouth.
16:56 And Jesus looked at him with pity
16:58 and said demon to come out.
17:01 And demon came out of him.
17:05 And everybody was happy
17:06 and praising the Lord expect us, disciples.
17:08 We didn't know what was wrong.
17:10 We didn't know what we said.
17:12 What was wrong that we did that didn't work this time
17:14 because all the other time it worked.
17:17 And as everybody left,
17:18 we came to Jesus and asked him what was wrong?
17:23 What did we do wrong?
17:25 And Jesus told us,
17:26 "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
17:30 you can move a mountain of problems."
17:33 Won't it be wonderful to have faith
17:34 like a mustard seed
17:35 and you'll be able to do anything
17:38 if you are with Jesus.
17:40 Earlier that day, we were arguing
17:42 with the disciples who is greater.
17:44 Well, I thought I am.
17:46 We counted the miracles
17:47 and there was a lot that I did
17:48 and I was with Jesus
17:50 and we were arguing
17:51 between ourselves who is the greatest.
17:53 But we have to forget about ourselves.
17:56 We have to come to Jesus
17:58 and when Jesus is in our heart,
18:00 we can do anything because there is nothing
18:02 that is impossible with Jesus.
18:07 So, children, if Jesus in your heart,
18:11 you can do anything.
18:12 And to get that faith,
18:14 we have to pray to Him everyday.
18:16 Well, now I want to go and be with Jesus
18:19 because I want to have a heart like that. Goodbye.
18:39 Children, Jesus loves you
18:42 Children, Jesus loves you
18:46 Love, love, love comes trickling down
18:52 Ask and you shall find us anywhere give a knock
18:57 And the door shall be opened then
18:59 Love, love, love comes trickling down
19:07 Brothers, Jesus loves you
19:10 Brothers, Jesus loves you
19:13 Love, love, love comes tricking down
19:20 Ask and you shall find us anywhere give a knock
19:24 And the door shall be opened then
19:27 Love, love, love comes trickling down
19:34 Sisters, Jesus loves you
19:37 Sisters, Jesus loves you
19:41 Love, love, love comes trickling down
19:48 Ask and you shall find us anywhere give a knock
19:52 And the door shall be opened then
19:54 Love, love, love comes trickling down
20:01 And love, love, love comes trickling down
20:18 Thank you, Hayley, for that song,
20:19 "Love comes trickling down."
20:21 It makes me wanna sing right along with her,
20:23 doesn't it you, boys and girls?
20:25 Well, today, I have a guest I'd like to introduce you to.
20:27 This is my friend, Buddy.
20:29 Hi, Buddy, how are you today?
20:32 Are you excited to be here on Kids Time?
20:35 You are? But just a little bit nervous.
20:36 You don't have to nervous at all, okay?
20:38 'Cause it's just me sitting here talking to you.
20:41 And we're talking to the boys and girls at home
20:42 and we'll just make Buddy feel comfortable, won't we?
20:45 Well, Buddy, you have something in your hand.
20:47 What do you have?
20:50 What's in your hand?
20:51 A letter. A letter?
20:53 And who is the letter from?
20:55 Nicole Papindick.
20:56 Nicole? Is she your friend?
20:59 And why do you have a letter today?
21:02 She told me to give this letter to you.
21:04 She did? Can I read it?
21:06 Let's see.
21:08 And she has a picture too, boys and girls.
21:11 Here's the picture of Nicole
21:14 and she says, "Dear Brenda,
21:16 my name is Nicole Papindick.
21:18 And when your program first started,
21:20 I wrote you a letter about witnessing to my dad,
21:24 about Jesus because my daddy had a drinking problem.
21:27 My dad has quit drinking now
21:30 and he only fell down once in
21:33 and picked himself right back up
21:35 and he is taking Jesus hand.
21:37 And now we are having [2138] every Sabbath.
21:40 And he made a Sabbath stand, it worked too.
21:43 So please keep praying for him
21:45 as he continues to grow in Jesus.
21:47 Love, Nicole Papindick."
21:49 Well, thank you for your letter, Nicole.
21:51 And boys and girls,
21:52 let's all pray for Nicole's daddy,
21:53 okay that Jesus will give him the victory over drink.
21:56 And the Holy Spirit's working hard in his heart.
21:59 And I know you've been praying for him too,
22:01 haven't you?
22:02 So let's all pray for him, all right.
22:04 Thank you for bringing the letter to me.
22:06 Now you share Jesus with a friend.
22:08 Do you have a friend? What's her name?
22:10 Holly. Holly. Now who is Holly?
22:12 She is my next door neighbor.
22:14 She is your next door neighbor and how old is Holly?
22:17 Seven. She is 7?
22:18 How old are you?
22:19 Seven. Seven, you are the same age.
22:21 Well, that's nice to have a friend next door
22:23 that's the same age to play with.
22:25 Now how do you witness to Holly?
22:27 She comes over for worship.
22:29 And she likes to sing. She likes to pray
22:32 and she likes to listen to Bible stories.
22:34 Now did Holly know Jesus
22:36 and do any of those things before she met you?
22:39 No, so, you've had a chance to share Jesus with her,
22:41 haven't you?
22:42 Well, that's wonderful.
22:43 Well, thank you for coming today
22:45 and sharing that, Buddy.
22:47 Well, I have some letters I'd like to read to you,
22:49 boys and girls. This one is from New York
22:52 and it's from Naeli and I don't know
22:55 how to pronounce the last name.
22:56 So I'm just gonna call her Naeli. It's Naeli.
22:59 So tell me if I pronounced that wrong I'm sorry.
23:02 And you know, she drew a picture here of a manatee.
23:07 And let's have you hold that picture up
23:11 while I read her letter.
23:13 And it says, "Dear, Miss Brenda,
23:15 my name is Naeli.
23:16 And I am 10 years old and I love to watch Kids Time.
23:19 I also share Jesus love by trying to be good
23:22 when I go to the bus station where my mom works.
23:25 And when I get home,
23:26 I try to show my little brother
23:28 how to be good in school
23:29 and because he is in home school.
23:31 Please send me an activity book,
23:33 also one for my brother too.
23:35 Hope you like my manatee I drew you.
23:37 Can you show the boys and girls?
23:39 Your friend, Naeli."
23:40 Well, I was happy to show your picture and thank you.
23:42 You did a really good job on that.
23:44 And keep sharing Jesus, okay?

23:59 doesn't it? It said, "Dear, Miss Brenda,
24:01 I took my friend to Vacation Bible School
24:04 and now she can come every year."
24:07 It says, "The picture is of me
24:09 in gymnastics on the balance beam.
24:11 Love, Alison." Well, thank you, Alison.
24:14 And do you do gymnastics, Buddy?
24:18 I have never done that either.
24:19 But that looks like fun, doesn't it?
24:21 Now this one here is from Arizona.
24:24 And oh, I have another picture somebody drew.

24:51 And now she goes to church.
24:53 He has done a miracle for her.
24:55 Now her brother goes to church too
24:57 because she told him about Jesus.
24:59 He loves him now.
25:00 Can you please send him and me a activity book?
25:04 The Lord has healed me too because I was sick.
25:06 So please remember me. Love, Courtlyn."
25:09 Well, thank you, Courtlyn,
