It's time to share there's world out there, 00:00:03.31\00:00:06.66 Looking for a friend like Jesus It's time 00:00:06.69\00:00:10.79 to share there's a world out there, Let's tell 00:00:10.82\00:00:14.18 them that He loves us so. Let's tell them that He 00:00:14.21\00:00:18.10 loves us so. Kids time, kids time, 00:00:18.13\00:00:23.56 kids time, kids time. Hi, boys and girls 00:00:23.59\00:00:25.91 I like to share with you today a special book 00:00:25.94\00:00:28.61 that my mom used to read to me when I was a 00:00:28.64\00:00:30.49 little girl. And I really loved it so much. It's 00:00:30.52\00:00:33.33 full of Bible stories. All kinds of Bible stories 00:00:33.36\00:00:36.09 and it's called the Bible story, it's written by 00:00:36.12\00:00:38.73 Arthur Maxwell. If you ever get a chance to see 00:00:38.76\00:00:40.73 this book and read it, you might even have 00:00:40.76\00:00:42.89 one in your library. This one is volume 5 and I 00:00:42.92\00:00:45.32 actually wanted to show you a picture in here 00:00:45.35\00:00:47.42 and wanted to see, can you take a look at this 00:00:47.45\00:00:50.31 and what do you think this is? Do you have 00:00:50.34\00:00:52.99 any idea? Can you tell? Well, this is actually a 00:00:53.02\00:00:58.16 picture, at least an artist version of it, of the 00:00:58.19\00:01:00.89 temple that King Solomon built back in 00:01:00.92\00:01:03.00 Bible times. And it was a place of worship. It 00:01:03.03\00:01:06.06 was also a place for the priests who helped with 00:01:06.09\00:01:08.58 the temple services, live with their families. You 00:01:08.61\00:01:11.75 can probably see some of the outer living 00:01:11.78\00:01:14.12 quarters right down here. Can you see that? 00:01:14.15\00:01:17.02 They probably lived right along there. Well, 00:01:17.05\00:01:19.93 today you're gonna hear a story about a very 00:01:19.96\00:01:22.49 brave women who had to hide a little boy in 00:01:22.52\00:01:25.87 this temple. Hoping people would think he 00:01:25.90\00:01:28.39 was just another child belonging to the priests 00:01:28.42\00:01:30.70 families, who lived there. Now why would 00:01:30.73\00:01:33.32 she do that? You might wonder huh! Well, you 00:01:33.35\00:01:36.96 will here about it in just a little while. This story 00:01:36.99\00:01:39.95 makes me wonder. If I would have the courage 00:01:39.98\00:01:42.75 to do what is right even if I might lose my life 00:01:42.78\00:01:45.57 for it. Jehoshabeath, the brave woman in today's 00:01:45.60\00:01:48.96 Bible story, she took an enormous risk in order 00:01:48.99\00:01:52.15 to do the right thing. It makes me think that she 00:01:52.18\00:01:55.59 must have made it a habit to chose to, to do 00:01:55.62\00:01:58.26 right even in little things or she never 00:01:58.29\00:02:00.90 would have been able to have the courage to 00:02:00.93\00:02:02.55 hide this little boy. Because she knew that 00:02:02.58\00:02:05.65 if she was found out, she would be killed. 00:02:05.68\00:02:08.49 How about you? Are you practicing everyday 00:02:08.52\00:02:11.94 to make good, brave choices. If everybody 00:02:11.97\00:02:15.77 else makes fun of another student. Do you 00:02:15.80\00:02:18.38 join in and make fun of them too or do you 00:02:18.41\00:02:20.99 speak up and defend that student. It takes 00:02:21.02\00:02:23.90 courage to be different doesn't it. Perhaps some 00:02:23.93\00:02:26.81 of your friends want you to steal some candy 00:02:26.84\00:02:28.78 from a store. Everyone else is doing it. But, you 00:02:28.81\00:02:32.65 know it's wrong. Do you have the courage to 00:02:32.68\00:02:35.44 do what's right, even though you might lose 00:02:35.47\00:02:37.21 some friends. I don't think I would want 00:02:37.24\00:02:39.61 those kind of friends anyway, do you? You 00:02:39.64\00:02:42.47 know there are lots of opportunities everyday 00:02:42.50\00:02:44.44 to make right choices. And when we do we 00:02:44.47\00:02:48.06 strengthen our characters, making it easier to make 00:02:48.09\00:02:50.70 the right choices. And don't forget to pray boys 00:02:50.73\00:02:53.95 and girls. Because Jesus is brave and he is 00:02:53.98\00:02:57.12 courageous and he will help you to be too. I 00:02:57.15\00:03:00.56 know he will. But right now, Ranger Jim is 00:03:00.59\00:03:04.14 going to show us an Eastern Screech Owl. 00:03:04.17\00:03:07.51 Hi! Boys and Girls, I'm really excited, we have 00:03:07.54\00:03:17.31 something special for you to see 00:03:17.34\00:03:19.73 today. We have a friend here that Beverly is going to 00:03:19.76\00:03:21.34 show us. What do we call this one? 00:03:21.37\00:03:23.07 This is the Eastern Screech Owl. 00:03:23.10\00:03:24.88 Well, why do you call it the screech owl? 00:03:24.91\00:03:26.99 Because their vocalization is entirely 00:03:27.02\00:03:29.64 different then the other types of owls. Many 00:03:29.67\00:03:31.70 people will associate a typical hoot with an 00:03:31.73\00:03:34.15 owl. This guy has a noise that would be 00:03:34.18\00:03:38.22 classified as a screamer of screech. 00:03:38.25\00:03:40.51 Ah! Is this the one that scares us at night when 00:03:40.54\00:03:42.87 we are out camping. That's right. 00:03:42.90\00:03:44.32 We are out in the tent in the backyard and we 00:03:44.35\00:03:46.63 hear the sound and we think what in the world is this? 00:03:46.66\00:03:49.00 Sounds, many times people say it sounds like a 00:03:49.03\00:03:51.60 woman screaming in fact. And if we could see that 00:03:51.63\00:03:54.06 it's this tiny little friendly owl we would 00:03:54.09\00:03:56.00 laugh Wouldn't we. That's right. I see he has some 00:03:56.03\00:03:58.43 nice tufts of feathers there. He does have what many 00:03:58.46\00:04:01.56 people call ear tufts, but of course they're just 00:04:01.59\00:04:04.15 feather tufts above his eyes. His ears actually 00:04:04.18\00:04:06.88 lie to the side, his ears lie to the side of 00:04:06.91\00:04:10.55 his eyes. I see, I see, he is panting there that the 00:04:10.58\00:04:13.45 way he has some cooling. His throat is 00:04:13.48\00:04:15.12 pumping there. It acts as two different mechanisms 00:04:15.15\00:04:18.18 it helps him reduce stress a little bit, if he is 00:04:18.21\00:04:20.84 nervous, but it also is a cooling factor as well. 00:04:20.87\00:04:23.97 Oh! I see and these creatures are they big 00:04:24.00\00:04:26.45 enough. What would they eat, they are not 00:04:26.48\00:04:28.15 real large. What would they eat? Their primary diet 00:04:28.18\00:04:30.83 are small rodents, again the small mice, maybe a 00:04:30.86\00:04:34.99 small chipmunk, but they also will eat 00:04:35.02\00:04:37.74 insects in the summer such as grasshoppers or 00:04:37.77\00:04:40.74 crickets. Oh! Yum, that sounds good. That's really a 00:04:40.77\00:04:43.37 good diet. Once again these are, are these cavity 00:04:43.40\00:04:46.06 nesters? These guys are cavity nesters, in fact it 00:04:46.09\00:04:49.07 is easy to put up a nest box and these guys will 00:04:49.10\00:04:52.02 take to a nest box, so we can encourage them even in 00:04:52.05\00:04:54.56 our own backyards.Well that would be need to have 00:04:54.59\00:04:57.43 and how would you come about having this creature. 00:04:57.46\00:04:59.26 This particular guy was also the one that came 00:04:59.29\00:05:03.34 in because he'd been hit by a car. Unfortunately, 00:05:03.37\00:05:07.42 he does have some eye, some visual damage, so 00:05:07.45\00:05:11.90 he does not see as well as he should, so he 00:05:11.93\00:05:13.93 wouldn't be able to hunt in the wild anymore. 00:05:13.96\00:05:15.72 I see, so living here he is safe from his injuries 00:05:15.75\00:05:19.56 and we can use him for educational purposes and 00:05:19.59\00:05:21.32 once again we have been able to salvage one of God's 00:05:21.35\00:05:23.35 creatures, how neat. Once again, I want to tell you 00:05:23.38\00:05:26.42 publicly that I appreciate what you do and many 00:05:26.45\00:05:28.47 people like you that work with these creatures. Tell 00:05:28.50\00:05:31.69 me about his feathers, do the owls molt as do other 00:05:31.72\00:05:35.18 birds.Yes they do, they molt just as the other birds 00:05:35.21\00:05:38.90 do. Many birds will molt large amount of feathers at 00:05:38.93\00:05:42.46 one time, but of course all of the birds are prey, 00:05:42.49\00:05:45.39 owls and hawks molt in stages, so that they don't 00:05:45.42\00:05:48.76 lose all of them at once, because they have to 00:05:48.79\00:05:50.58 maintain their ability to fly, to hunt. I see, I 00:05:50.61\00:05:54.16 understand that geese. Is it true that geese 00:05:54.19\00:05:55.78 sometime are flightless. Absolutely, they molt so 00:05:55.81\00:05:58.78 much at onetime that they cannot, that they cannot 00:05:58.81\00:06:01.16 fly. So that's why there is a difference in the way 00:06:01.19\00:06:03.00 they molt. I see, just by chance or happenstance and 00:06:03.03\00:06:05.96 the geese because he feeds on grass along the river, 00:06:05.99\00:06:08.49 he can walk and find plenty of food, he can 00:06:08.52\00:06:10.97 molt and lose many of his primary feathers, 00:06:11.00\00:06:12.67 where as if the owl did that he would starve. 00:06:12.70\00:06:14.55 That's right. It must be someone planned that out, 00:06:14.58\00:06:16.83 don't you think. It certainly looks like a master plan 00:06:16.86\00:06:18.96 to me. Certainly look like a master plan doesn't it. 00:06:18.99\00:06:21.09 Well, tell me compared to this creature what the 00:06:21.12\00:06:26.98 great horned owl looks like and I'm holding the 00:06:27.01\00:06:29.17 skull of the great horned owl here in my hand. And 00:06:29.20\00:06:33.04 you told me is that not true that if our eyes were 00:06:33.07\00:06:36.27 as large in proportion to our size as that of the 00:06:36.30\00:06:39.40 great horned owl, the how big would our eyes be? 00:06:39.43\00:06:41.81 We would have softball size eyes in our head if 00:06:41.84\00:06:45.16 we had the same size proportionally as these 00:06:45.19\00:06:48.49 owls do in theirs.Isn't that marvelous and these owls 00:06:48.52\00:06:52.11 are able to see even in total darkness. Well, they, 00:06:52.14\00:06:55.56 what we would perceive as total darkness apparently 00:06:55.59\00:06:58.06 there is enough light out there that they can gather 00:06:58.09\00:07:00.15 and see at least movement, yes. I see and so they go 00:07:00.18\00:07:04.10 along, they go flying along and they see a small 00:07:04.13\00:07:06.09 mouse moving or they even can hear a mouse moving. 00:07:06.12\00:07:09.04 They can sweep down and catch it. That's correct. 00:07:09.07\00:07:10.87 Isn't that marvelous. That is just exciting and 00:07:10.90\00:07:14.47 once again as I have said so many times, I look 00:07:14.50\00:07:17.05 forward to that wonderful day when we are there and 00:07:17.08\00:07:19.82 we're free, that animals no longer are injured or 00:07:19.85\00:07:22.27 hurt. And we can go with Jesus. I want to ask him, 00:07:22.30\00:07:25.48 how did you ever design an eye like that? How did 00:07:25.51\00:07:29.21 you ever come up with the idea that there would be 00:07:29.24\00:07:31.17 injuries to the eye when snow or sleet when this 00:07:31.20\00:07:33.64 creature is out hunting at night or the cold wind was 00:07:33.67\00:07:36.33 blowing perhaps sand and grit. That you actually gave 00:07:36.36\00:07:38.99 it a windshield wiper on it's eyes. That's right, 00:07:39.02\00:07:41.92 a third eyelid to take care of those eyes. That is 00:07:41.95\00:07:43.79 just wonderful. That's just wonderful. Must be that 00:07:43.82\00:07:46.49 when God said after he created all these things it 00:07:46.52\00:07:48.65 was very good, that's exactly what he meant. 00:07:48.68\00:07:50.90 That's what he meant. So, there once again 00:07:50.93\00:07:53.29 boys and girls, we've talked about the smallest 00:07:53.32\00:07:55.40 in this area screech owl and he is one of the 00:07:55.43\00:07:58.00 owls that we have in the world. But, once again 00:07:58.03\00:08:01.17 large or small our wonderful Jesus made them all in 00:08:01.20\00:08:04.53 love and as I've told you before. My Bible says 00:08:04.56\00:08:08.94 that the hairs of your head are numbered and my Bible 00:08:08.97\00:08:12.08 says that even when a tiny sparrow falls to the 00:08:12.11\00:08:15.02 ground our heavenly Father takes note of that 00:08:15.05\00:08:17.68 and it makes his great heart sad. So, remember 00:08:17.71\00:08:21.60 this as always don't forget to tell Jesus that 00:08:21.63\00:08:25.25 you love him because he really does love you boys 00:08:25.28\00:08:28.92 and girls. Hi! Boys and girls, sometimes it's hard to 00:08:28.95\00:08:39.77 figure out what's true and what isn't? But we know 00:08:39.80\00:08:42.95 one thing, what Jesus said is truth because he said 00:08:42.98\00:08:45.93 he is the truth. Right Debbie? Right. Jesus said, I am 00:08:45.96\00:08:50.30 the way, the truth and the life, John 14:6. 00:08:50.33\00:08:54.73 Boys and girls, we are learning a song written 00:08:54.76\00:08:57.49 by Keith Green a long time ago. It's called 00:08:57.52\00:08:59.55 how I love you. We would like you to learn it with us. 00:08:59.58\00:09:08.69 How I love you, You are the one, You are the one. 00:09:08.72\00:09:17.34 How I love you, You are the one for me. I was lied to 00:09:17.37\00:09:24.38 I was lied to, But you told the truth, 00:09:24.41\00:09:29.52 'Cause you are the truth. I was lied to, 00:09:29.55\00:09:35.28 But you showed the truth to me. How I love you, 00:09:35.31\00:09:42.52 You are the one, You are the one. How I love you, 00:09:42.55\00:09:49.64 You are the one for me. I was dying, I was dying, 00:09:49.67\00:09:57.30 But you gave me life, 'Cause you are the life. 00:09:57.33\00:10:01.25 I was dying, And you gave your life for me. 00:10:01.28\00:10:07.60 How I love you, You are the one, You are the one. 00:10:07.63\00:10:15.61 How I love you, You are the one for me. Hallelujah, 00:10:15.64\00:10:26.03 You are the one, You are the one. Hallelujah, 00:10:26.06\00:10:33.53 You are the one. God's precious son, 00:10:33.56\00:10:37.05 You are the one for me. 00:10:37.08\00:10:42.35 I just love coming out here spending quite time with 00:13:20.79\00:13:24.28 God, enjoying all the wonderful things that he 00:13:24.31\00:13:27.72 has made. The blue sky, the trees, the flowers, 00:13:27.75\00:13:35.74 the birds. Oh! What an awesome God we serve. 00:13:35.77\00:13:39.70 Oh! How, I love him. Oh! I'm sorry, let me 00:13:39.73\00:13:43.06 introduce myself. My name is Jehoshabeath 00:13:43.09\00:13:46.27 and my husband Jehoiada is the high priest. We 00:13:46.30\00:13:49.88 live in the temple at Jerusalem. We love and worship 00:13:49.91\00:13:53.80 the great God in heaven. But, we have been so very, 00:13:53.83\00:13:58.18 very sad. You see so many, the people here in Judah 00:13:58.21\00:14:04.29 they have quit worshiping God and they have been 00:14:04.32\00:14:06.15 worshiping idols of wood and stone. Can you imagine 00:14:06.18\00:14:09.92 anybody wanna worship idols of wood and stone? I 00:14:09.95\00:14:14.68 can't. You see when King Jehoshaphat was alive, 00:14:14.71\00:14:19.46 he encouraged people to come to the temple and 00:14:19.49\00:14:21.78 worship and to love God, but then he died. 00:14:21.81\00:14:26.10 And the new king, he married queen Athaliah. 00:14:26.13\00:14:31.22 Well, she was King Ahab's daughter, wicked just 00:14:31.25\00:14:37.14 like her father. Always she was thinking up evil 00:14:37.17\00:14:41.19 things to do. And one of the things that they did was 00:14:41.22\00:14:44.98 have all of the brothers in the family killed. Well, 00:14:45.01\00:14:50.08 the Lord passed judgment on that king. He only ruled 00:14:50.11\00:14:53.23 8 years and then his son Azariah took over, but 00:14:53.26\00:14:58.15 he didn't live long either and when he died Athaliah 00:14:58.18\00:15:02.03 said I wanna be the ruler of all Judah. I can, 00:15:02.06\00:15:06.35 wanna rule the people and she went and had all her 00:15:06.38\00:15:11.69 grandbabies killed. Can you imagine that a grandma 00:15:11.72\00:15:17.30 wanting to kill all her grandbabies, but she didn't 00:15:17.33\00:15:20.43 get them all. I heard about what she was going to 00:15:20.46\00:15:23.99 do. I went to the palace, I slipped passed the 00:15:24.02\00:15:28.29 guards, I went into little Joash's room, I picked 00:15:28.32\00:15:32.21 him up and I held him close. Then I motioned for the 00:15:32.24\00:15:35.35 nurse to come and follow me. We went passed the 00:15:35.38\00:15:38.56 guards again, out of the palace, sometimes we had 00:15:38.59\00:15:41.91 to hide behind trees and bushes. Finally, we made 00:15:41.94\00:15:45.14 it to the safety of the temple, then my husband, 00:15:45.17\00:15:48.62 high priest Jehoiada took us and hid little Joash 00:15:48.65\00:15:53.75 and the nurse in a very secret place that no one 00:15:53.78\00:15:57.17 knew about except my husband and I. There we 00:15:57.20\00:16:01.65 taught little Joash as he grew up abut the great 00:16:01.68\00:16:04.78 God in heaven. And how we should worship only him and 00:16:04.81\00:16:08.50 not the Gods of wood and stone. When he was seven, 00:16:08.53\00:16:12.77 my husband decided that it was time to tell some very 00:16:12.80\00:16:17.11 important people about our secret. And so he told 00:16:17.14\00:16:20.43 them about the King, the heir to the throne, the 00:16:20.46\00:16:23.59 real heir to the throne. Well, these important 00:16:23.62\00:16:26.63 men were very upset about queen Athaliah because she 00:16:26.66\00:16:30.98 was encouraging people to do many wicked things. 00:16:31.01\00:16:33.87 I can't even begin to tell you about them. Because 00:16:33.90\00:16:38.08 they're too shameful to talk about. As queen 00:16:38.11\00:16:43.53 Athaliah became more and more wicked, the people 00:16:43.56\00:16:46.24 realized that they needed a change and so this 00:16:46.27\00:16:50.44 important men told other people about our secret. 00:16:50.47\00:16:53.18 Pretty soon the temple yard was full of people 00:16:53.21\00:16:56.70 waiting to see the real heir. Then my husband 00:16:56.73\00:17:01.35 brought out Joash before the people. He put a 00:17:01.38\00:17:04.87 crown on his head and a robe on him, and the people 00:17:04.90\00:17:09.12 when they saw him they were so happy they began 00:17:09.15\00:17:11.50 shouting, God save the King, God save the King. 00:17:11.53\00:17:15.79 They made so much noise that queen Athaliah heard 00:17:15.82\00:17:21.59 it from her palace and she came right over, she 00:17:21.62\00:17:24.63 came to the courtyard. She saw that the temple choir 00:17:24.66\00:17:28.18 was singing and the trumpeters were playing 00:17:28.21\00:17:30.60 their trumpets and people were shouting, God save 00:17:30.63\00:17:33.42 the King. She looked around there she saw Joash 00:17:33.45\00:17:39.15 and he had the crown on his head and the robe on him. 00:17:39.18\00:17:43.95 She was very angry and she began crying, treason, 00:17:43.98\00:17:47.18 treason, kill him. But, some of my husband's men took 00:17:47.21\00:17:53.73 Athaliah out and had her killed. Then they took 00:17:53.76\00:17:58.31 Joash and they led him through the streets to 00:17:58.34\00:18:01.37 the palace. When they took him into the palace they 00:18:01.40\00:18:04.40 put him on the great big throne room. He was only 00:18:04.43\00:18:07.08 seven years old. I could tell that he was very 00:18:07.11\00:18:11.07 frightened, but he didn't let the people know. He 00:18:11.10\00:18:14.14 was happy to see them happy again. And he really 00:18:14.17\00:18:18.35 wanted them to know about the great God in heaven. 00:18:18.38\00:18:21.45 So he thought and thought about what he could do 00:18:21.48\00:18:24.58 so that they would start worshiping God again, but 00:18:24.61\00:18:28.20 then he thought God's temple is so broken down and it 00:18:28.23\00:18:33.13 needs so much repair, so he send a proclamation out 00:18:33.16\00:18:37.01 to all the villages that they were to bring money to 00:18:37.04\00:18:39.73 the temple. But, they didn't really listen and then 00:18:39.76\00:18:44.20 he thought I will put a chest, a big chest outside 00:18:44.23\00:18:47.93 of the temple and every time people walk by, they 00:18:47.96\00:18:51.28 can put gold in it and silver and coins and that's 00:18:51.31\00:18:55.52 just what he did. But, before the day was over that 00:18:55.55\00:18:58.92 box was full and when they ran and told Joash about 00:18:58.95\00:19:01.82 it, he could not believe it. He asked them to bring 00:19:01.85\00:19:05.68 the box to him. So, they did and they took the big 00:19:05.71\00:19:08.80 chest and they dumped it all right before him. He 00:19:08.83\00:19:13.83 was so surprised and happy. He said, go take 00:19:13.86\00:19:17.64 box and put it back in the same place. By night fall, 00:19:17.67\00:19:22.19 it was full again. Oh! He was so happy, now they could 00:19:22.22\00:19:28.42 repair the temple. My husband and I were so happy 00:19:28.45\00:19:31.84 because there was even enough money left over 00:19:31.87\00:19:34.06 to buy gold and silver vessels for the service. And 00:19:34.09\00:19:38.56 I'm so thankful that God blessed in such a special 00:19:38.59\00:19:43.23 way and now the people of Judah are turning back 00:19:43.26\00:19:46.45 to him. Isn't it special, how God can use even little 00:19:46.48\00:19:52.45 children in his work. Oh! What an awesome God we 00:19:52.48\00:19:56.47 have. Oh! I love him. 00:19:56.50\00:19:59.08 Don't look left, don't look right. Look straight 00:20:16.18\00:20:20.52 ahead at the guiding light. Don't get off, off the 00:20:20.55\00:20:25.15 track, keep holding on and don't look back, for 00:20:25.18\00:20:29.42 truth is the most important treasure in this world 00:20:29.45\00:20:34.04 today. Falsehood is the enemy. I want just his 00:20:34.07\00:20:41.53 love, the future of all that the Lord is looking 00:20:41.56\00:20:46.13 out to do through us who love to live his way. 00:20:46.16\00:20:52.57 Don't believe all you hear, falsehood and evil 00:20:52.60\00:20:57.08 you learn to fear, put away evil words, careful 00:20:57.11\00:21:02.64 to judge everything you hear. For truth is the most 00:21:02.67\00:21:06.32 important treasure in this world today. Falsehood 00:21:06.35\00:21:12.55 is the enemy. I, just his love the future of all 00:21:12.58\00:21:19.51 that the Lord is looking out to do through us who 00:21:19.54\00:21:23.95 love to live his way. Thank you Daniel for 00:21:23.98\00:21:38.78 that song. It's important to be truthful isn't.
