It's time to share there's a world out there 00:00:03.34\00:00:07.10 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:00:07.11\00:00:10.10 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:00:10.11\00:00:13.48 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:00:13.49\00:00:16.94 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:00:16.95\00:00:20.34 Kids time Kids time Kids time Kids time 00:00:20.35\00:00:24.70 Hi, boys and girls. Can you read this sign? 00:00:24.71\00:00:27.63 It's a big word, isn't it, 00:00:27.64\00:00:28.83 and one that we probably don't hear very often. 00:00:28.84\00:00:31.32 It says, 'Quarantined, Do Not Enter.' 00:00:31.33\00:00:36.00 You know, quarantined means that you have to be separated 00:00:36.01\00:00:38.60 from other people because of sickness. 00:00:38.61\00:00:40.82 And today we have vaccinations for most contagious diseases. 00:00:40.83\00:00:44.51 Diseases that are passed easily 00:00:44.52\00:00:46.15 from one person to another 00:00:46.16\00:00:48.04 and that's so that we're protected 00:00:48.05\00:00:49.74 from many sicknesses. 00:00:49.75\00:00:51.96 But it wasn't so very long ago 00:00:51.97\00:00:53.50 when if you had the measles or scarlet fever either mumps, 00:00:53.51\00:00:57.10 you would be quarantined. 00:00:57.11\00:00:58.97 And that means, that you would be in a room 00:00:58.98\00:01:01.27 either in a hospital or at home 00:01:01.28\00:01:03.41 with a big sign on the door like this, 'Quarantined.' 00:01:03.42\00:01:06.97 Only the doctor and the person taking care of you, 00:01:06.98\00:01:10.05 maybe the nurse or your mother could come near you. 00:01:10.06\00:01:13.11 And they had to wear mask like this over the faces, 00:01:13.12\00:01:16.80 so that they wouldn't breathe in all your germs. 00:01:16.81\00:01:19.61 And it wasn't much fun to be quarantined. 00:01:19.62\00:01:22.20 It was very lonely. 00:01:22.21\00:01:23.69 You had nobody to talk to or play games with and, 00:01:23.70\00:01:27.41 you know what, you would feel like you are so alone 00:01:27.42\00:01:30.71 and everybody had forgotten all about you. 00:01:30.72\00:01:34.06 Well today's Bible story, tells about women, 00:01:34.07\00:01:36.59 who had to be quarantined. 00:01:36.60\00:01:38.50 Separated from other people 00:01:38.51\00:01:40.19 because of this very contagious disease, 00:01:40.20\00:01:43.38 a dreaded disease called leprosy. 00:01:43.39\00:01:46.91 But she didn't get this disease in the usual way. 00:01:46.92\00:01:50.01 And unlike other people who became lepers, 00:01:50.02\00:01:52.63 she found a happy ending to her story. 00:01:52.64\00:01:56.06 Listen carefully for the woman's name 00:01:56.07\00:01:57.87 as you hear our Bible story today. 00:01:57.88\00:01:59.90 I'm not gonna tell you. 00:01:59.91\00:02:00.90 You're gonna have to listen for it, okay. 00:02:00.91\00:02:03.13 But before we hear our story, 00:02:03.14\00:02:04.87 Ranger Jim is going to show us some beautiful peacock. 00:02:04.88\00:02:08.81 Hi, boys and girls. 00:02:15.77\00:02:16.77 Ranger Jim here again, 00:02:16.78\00:02:18.04 we have something special for you to see today 00:02:18.05\00:02:20.36 that beautiful but obnoxious peacock. 00:02:20.37\00:02:23.23 They are a fascinating creature, 00:02:23.24\00:02:24.94 beautiful as I say but they can be very distressing. 00:02:24.95\00:02:28.79 If you have a neighbor who has peacocks 00:02:28.80\00:02:30.82 when they're mating or when they're flying up 00:02:30.83\00:02:32.62 to the roost in the evening they've a call that sounds 00:02:32.63\00:02:35.59 almost like someone is screaming for help. 00:02:35.60\00:02:37.47 Over and over and over they call. 00:02:37.48\00:02:40.22 These creatures, the peacock himself what he displays, 00:02:40.23\00:02:43.57 he has beautiful long feathers 00:02:43.58\00:02:45.55 and when he wants to attract the hen, 00:02:45.56\00:02:46.92 he fans out his feathers. 00:02:46.93\00:02:48.61 If you have seen them they are gorgeous. 00:02:48.62\00:02:50.40 And then he begins to stamp his feet 00:02:50.41\00:02:52.13 and shake his feathers. 00:02:52.14\00:02:53.61 It has a rustling sound 00:02:53.62\00:02:55.48 and so this attracts the female. 00:02:55.49\00:02:57.60 The peacock doesn't do this 00:02:57.61\00:03:00.12 until he's normally about three or four years old 00:03:00.13\00:03:02.19 when he's fully mature and about the same age 00:03:02.20\00:03:04.96 the peahen when she is three years old, 00:03:04.97\00:03:06.62 she is old enough then to lay eggs. 00:03:06.63\00:03:08.98 She once again as one of those creatures 00:03:08.99\00:03:10.89 that lays a decoy egg. 00:03:10.90\00:03:12.81 Out in the open she places an egg 00:03:12.82\00:03:14.47 and then she observes that from time to time 00:03:14.48\00:03:16.99 to see that a raccoon hasn't found it 00:03:17.00\00:03:19.32 or something like that. 00:03:19.33\00:03:20.32 And when she has safely left an egg out, 00:03:20.33\00:03:22.77 expose out in the open for three or four days. 00:03:22.78\00:03:25.12 Then she knows it's safe to build her nest. 00:03:25.13\00:03:27.49 And her nest really consist 00:03:27.50\00:03:28.86 of just a depression in the soil. 00:03:28.87\00:03:30.76 She scrapes the dirt away. 00:03:30.77\00:03:32.34 Lays four to sometimes six eggs 00:03:32.35\00:03:34.85 and sits on the clutch of eggs. 00:03:34.86\00:03:37.09 After hatching then the peachicks 00:03:37.10\00:03:39.61 follow the mother and they go about 00:03:39.62\00:03:41.21 and she uses her big feet for scratching in the ground 00:03:41.22\00:03:44.29 and disturbing crickets and grubs 00:03:44.30\00:03:45.92 and all sorts of things that they feed on. 00:03:45.93\00:03:48.43 They do enjoy berries, wild grapes 00:03:48.44\00:03:51.35 and things that fall to the ground. 00:03:51.36\00:03:53.33 The peacocks where hunted for many years for their feathers. 00:03:53.34\00:03:58.83 And that is the very poignant thing for me. 00:03:58.84\00:04:00.73 I can tell you that for many years 00:04:00.74\00:04:03.75 I was trained as hunting when I was on fishing, 00:04:03.76\00:04:07.26 when I was a younger boy my father taught me to trap. 00:04:07.27\00:04:10.79 And when I look back now 00:04:10.80\00:04:11.88 and think of some of the things 00:04:11.89\00:04:12.94 that we did to capture animals just for their fur. 00:04:12.95\00:04:15.97 That is very repugnant to me. 00:04:15.98\00:04:18.16 I'm so thankful that Jesus came into my life 00:04:18.17\00:04:20.29 and changed how I look at those creatures. 00:04:20.30\00:04:22.64 And now I love them and I love to go 00:04:22.65\00:04:24.22 and tell boys and girls about them. 00:04:24.23\00:04:26.22 So all of these creatures God made for us 00:04:26.23\00:04:28.79 to see and enjoy 00:04:28.80\00:04:29.84 and I'm sure if I've talked to you much 00:04:29.85\00:04:31.46 before I've mentioned it to you 00:04:31.47\00:04:33.44 that all of these creatures 00:04:33.45\00:04:35.10 we're to love and respect and to care for. 00:04:35.11\00:04:37.66 So if you have a pet make sure 00:04:37.67\00:04:39.76 that you take good care of the pet. 00:04:39.77\00:04:41.56 So remember this as I always say, 00:04:41.57\00:04:44.04 Ranger Jim once again reminding you 00:04:44.05\00:04:47.18 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him. 00:04:47.19\00:04:49.70 Because He really does, love you. 00:04:49.71\00:04:51.96 Hi, boys and girls. 00:04:58.94\00:05:00.33 Usually we do one song for you. 00:05:00.34\00:05:02.17 But this time, we're gonna try to do four songs, 00:05:02.18\00:05:04.90 just called the Medley. 00:05:04.91\00:05:06.22 But to do four songs, 00:05:06.23\00:05:07.41 we're sure gonna need a good text. you know our time is up. 00:12:24.42\00:12:25.55 And so we want to tell all the other 00:12:25.56\00:12:26.87 boys and girls, what? 00:12:26.88\00:12:28.52 Remember to keep cooking and eat healthy. 00:12:28.53\00:12:31.84 Oh, hello, friends. 00:12:43.97\00:12:47.05 Now I've been thinking a lot about all the things 00:12:47.06\00:12:49.25 that have happened to me in my life. 00:12:49.26\00:12:51.36 Let me share some of them with you. 00:12:51.37\00:12:53.50 I was my parents' only child 00:12:53.51\00:12:55.31 until I was nearly nine years old. 00:12:55.32\00:12:57.56 They taught me to love God 00:12:57.57\00:12:59.05 and to be honest and obedient. 00:12:59.06\00:13:01.33 They told me over and over all the stories of my people. 00:13:01.34\00:13:05.13 My mother was such a good storyteller 00:13:05.14\00:13:07.31 and I loved to listen to her stories. 00:13:07.32\00:13:10.48 Then when I was nine years old, 00:13:10.49\00:13:12.37 a dear little baby boy was born into our family. 00:13:12.38\00:13:15.72 I was old enough to take care of him 00:13:15.73\00:13:17.40 and my parents had to go to work. 00:13:17.41\00:13:19.62 They worked long hard hours in the hot sun. 00:13:19.63\00:13:23.59 My little brother was about three years old, 00:13:23.60\00:13:26.19 another precious baby was joined our family. 00:13:26.20\00:13:29.68 How I loved my two little brothers. 00:13:29.69\00:13:32.58 The ruler of our country where we lived was a cruel man. 00:13:32.59\00:13:36.33 About the time that second baby boy joined our family 00:13:36.34\00:13:39.57 that wrecked ruler made an awful dreadful rule. 00:13:39.58\00:13:43.37 He decreed that he didn't like it 00:13:43.38\00:13:45.81 because there were too many babies 00:13:45.82\00:13:47.33 being born amongst our people. 00:13:47.34\00:13:49.23 And so he ordered his soldiers to kill all the baby boys. 00:13:49.24\00:13:54.93 You see we'd been slaves 00:13:54.94\00:13:56.21 in that country of Egypt for many years. 00:13:56.22\00:13:58.98 God bless to see many rising. 00:13:58.99\00:14:01.03 But we were very unhappy 00:14:01.04\00:14:02.95 and we wanted to return to the Land of Canaan 00:14:02.96\00:14:05.31 which was really our home. 00:14:05.32\00:14:07.87 The wicked ruler wanted us to always be his slaves 00:14:07.88\00:14:11.66 and when he learned that my people were having babies 00:14:11.67\00:14:14.88 he was afraid that we might takeover his country. 00:14:14.89\00:14:18.10 So that's why he wanted all the baby boys killed. 00:14:18.11\00:14:21.34 We where so scared. 00:14:21.35\00:14:23.65 Daddy would come home from work 00:14:23.66\00:14:25.07 looking so terribly worried and big brother would say, 00:14:25.08\00:14:28.94 "mommy why you always crying?" 00:14:28.95\00:14:32.06 "And she would say, shh shh," 00:14:32.07\00:14:34.50 don't let the baby cry. 00:14:34.51\00:14:36.52 He was a beautiful baby and he didn't cry very much. 00:14:36.53\00:14:40.03 Mommy thought that he was a very special baby 00:14:40.04\00:14:42.38 and he, he really was. 00:14:42.39\00:14:44.46 But we didn't dare let him cry. 00:14:44.47\00:14:46.41 It was too dangerous. 00:14:46.42\00:14:48.06 I spent a lot of time rocking him 00:14:48.07\00:14:50.23 and holding him and trying to hide him. 00:14:50.24\00:14:53.98 Finally mama couldn't stand it any longer. 00:14:53.99\00:14:56.84 She prayed a lot about it 00:14:56.85\00:14:58.98 and then she asked me to go to the rivers edge 00:14:58.99\00:15:01.56 and cut some reeds. 00:15:01.57\00:15:03.31 And mama wove with those reeds, 00:15:03.32\00:15:05.15 wove a little basket 00:15:05.16\00:15:06.98 and she lined it with some soft, soft material 00:15:06.99\00:15:10.48 and she covered the outside of it 00:15:10.49\00:15:12.42 with pitch to keep it from leaking. 00:15:12.43\00:15:15.39 The next morning very early she nursed my baby brother 00:15:15.40\00:15:19.40 and after he was asleep she put him in the basket 00:15:19.41\00:15:22.57 and placed him among the reeds by the river. 00:15:22.58\00:15:26.25 I hid behind some bushes nearby 00:15:26.26\00:15:28.67 to watch my little brother and keep him safe. 00:15:28.68\00:15:33.57 The wicked king's daughter the princess 00:15:33.58\00:15:35.35 came with her servants to take a bath in the river. 00:15:35.36\00:15:38.42 She saw the basket in the river 00:15:38.43\00:15:40.12 and said one of her servants to get it. 00:15:40.13\00:15:42.63 When she opened the basket 00:15:42.64\00:15:44.61 and saw my beautiful baby brother she was so happy. 00:15:44.62\00:15:48.34 God helped me to be brave and I ran and ask her 00:15:48.35\00:15:51.26 if she would like to have someone to take care of him. 00:15:51.27\00:15:54.09 Because she said she wanted to keep him 00:15:54.10\00:15:55.73 for her own son. 00:15:55.74\00:15:57.22 She let me go and get our own mother 00:15:57.23\00:15:59.99 to take care of our baby. 00:16:00.00\00:16:02.04 He stayed with us for 12 years. 00:16:02.05\00:16:04.91 And then the princess took him to the palace. 00:16:04.92\00:16:07.41 He grew up to be Moses, 00:16:07.42\00:16:09.00 the one who led our people out of Egypt. 00:16:09.01\00:16:14.68 A lot of interest things happened 00:16:14.69\00:16:16.60 before we could leave Egypt. 00:16:16.61\00:16:18.88 God made a lot of miracles to happen 00:16:18.89\00:16:21.55 and then Moses let us out of Egypt. 00:16:21.56\00:16:24.34 We had to cross the Red Sea. 00:16:24.35\00:16:26.46 Huge river, river water 00:16:26.47\00:16:28.14 and that was another exciting story. 00:16:28.15\00:16:31.27 God caused the Red Sea to part 00:16:31.28\00:16:33.63 so we could all go across. 00:16:33.64\00:16:36.33 Pharaoh was following with his horses 00:16:36.34\00:16:38.50 and his soldiers. 00:16:38.51\00:16:40.06 But when we were all across the waters parted again 00:16:40.07\00:16:44.19 or they came together 00:16:44.20\00:16:46.20 and drowned pharaoh and his soldiers. 00:16:46.21\00:16:49.42 We were so happy 00:16:49.43\00:16:51.14 that we didn't have to worry about wicked pharaoh any more 00:16:51.15\00:16:54.25 with my tambourine 00:16:54.26\00:16:55.77 I led the women in joyful praises to God 00:16:55.78\00:16:58.47 with singing and dancing. 00:16:58.48\00:17:00.36 They called me the first woman prophetess. 00:17:00.37\00:17:03.17 During the years of slavery, 00:17:03.18\00:17:05.57 when we were in the wilderness 00:17:05.58\00:17:07.24 I encouraged and cheered the women 00:17:07.25\00:17:09.09 with our songs and dances of praise. 00:17:09.10\00:17:13.01 I'm not very proud of what I did later. 00:17:13.02\00:17:16.33 I became very jealous of Moses. 00:17:16.34\00:17:19.07 Aaron my other brother and I 00:17:19.08\00:17:21.12 both thought that we should have 00:17:21.13\00:17:22.54 one partner leadership with the people. 00:17:22.55\00:17:24.78 I said why should Moses listen to his foreign wife, Sephora. 00:17:24.79\00:17:29.57 I know more than she does. 00:17:29.58\00:17:31.86 I was rebellious and angry. 00:17:31.87\00:17:34.36 I let Satan into my life and instead of God. 00:17:34.37\00:17:37.39 I talked to many others into joining me 00:17:37.40\00:17:39.50 into my naughty thinking and talking. 00:17:39.51\00:17:42.56 God knew that because I was a leader 00:17:42.57\00:17:45.03 I would not be able to help others. 00:17:45.04\00:17:47.45 And then I would cause all kinds of trouble in the camp. 00:17:47.46\00:17:50.92 I was punished right away with a horrible punishment. 00:17:50.93\00:17:54.57 I got white spots, soars from leprosy all over me. 00:17:54.58\00:17:59.20 Leprosy is a dreadful disease, 00:17:59.21\00:18:01.61 it causes people who get it, 00:18:01.62\00:18:03.28 to lose their fingers and their toes 00:18:03.29\00:18:05.27 and sometimes their nose and their ears. 00:18:05.28\00:18:08.67 Whenever someone gets leprosy, they're sent away from home. 00:18:08.68\00:18:12.84 They have to live with other lepers 00:18:12.85\00:18:14.73 and no one is even allowed to go near them. 00:18:14.74\00:18:18.29 Right away my younger brother Moses 00:18:18.30\00:18:20.12 who still loved me pleaded with God 00:18:20.13\00:18:22.89 to spare my life and heal me. 00:18:22.90\00:18:25.17 God said, yes to Moses request and I was healed right then. 00:18:25.18\00:18:30.54 But the priest said that I had to be alone 00:18:30.55\00:18:32.55 outside of camp for seven days 00:18:32.56\00:18:34.98 until he was sure that I did not have leprosy anymore. 00:18:34.99\00:18:39.11 The truth is that I was not really all alone, 00:18:39.12\00:18:42.49 God had said, I will never leave you or forsake you. 00:18:42.50\00:18:46.80 So I knew that God was with me 00:18:46.81\00:18:48.95 during those seven lonely days away from the camp. 00:18:48.96\00:18:52.72 Then I was able to go back to the camp 00:18:52.73\00:18:55.31 and do the things that God wanted me to do. 00:18:55.32\00:18:58.53 He let me lead the people again, 00:18:58.54\00:19:00.62 enjoy His singing and praising Him again. 00:19:00.63\00:19:04.92 Whenever you hear my name Merriam, 00:19:04.93\00:19:08.53 I hope you will remember the time 00:19:08.54\00:19:10.31 that God helped me save baby Moses life 00:19:10.32\00:19:12.69 when mama had to put him 00:19:12.70\00:19:13.82 in the little basket in the river. 00:19:13.83\00:19:16.22 If you think of what I did when I was old 00:19:16.23\00:19:19.62 I hope you will remember that even though 00:19:19.63\00:19:21.66 I did something wrong God still loved me 00:19:21.67\00:19:25.02 and was with me and forgave me. 00:19:25.03\00:19:27.66 And He will do that for you too, 00:19:27.67\00:19:30.05 just as He did for me. 00:19:30.06\00:19:32.38 There'll be no band-aids in heaven 00:19:51.19\00:19:54.99 No emergency medical care 00:19:55.00\00:19:58.76 There'll be no skinned knees no stings from bees 00:19:58.77\00:20:02.65 There'll be no band-aids up there 00:20:02.66\00:20:06.85 I was out riding my bike one day 00:20:06.86\00:20:10.60 Zooming over the ground 00:20:10.61\00:20:14.20 Then I hit a bump and I went ker-plunk 00:20:14.21\00:20:18.01 And I hope there's a band-aid around 00:20:18.02\00:20:21.68 There'll be no band-aids in heaven 00:20:21.69\00:20:25.63 No emergency medical care 00:20:25.64\00:20:29.48 There'll be no skinned knees no stings from bees 00:20:29.49\00:20:33.37 There'll be no band-aids up there 00:20:33.38\00:20:37.58 I was out playing with a few close friends 00:20:37.59\00:20:41.54 Riley, Samantha and Gennie 00:20:41.55\00:20:44.77 But they didn't see when I skinned my knee 00:20:44.78\00:20:48.66 And I needed instant strip 00:20:48.67\00:20:52.49 There'll be no band-aids in heaven 00:20:52.50\00:20:56.35 No emergency medical care 00:20:56.36\00:21:00.23 There'll be no skinned knees no stings from bees 00:21:00.24\00:21:04.20 There'll be no Yes, he asked me. 00:23:49.20\00:23:51.42 And so I asked him what he liked to do 00:23:51.43\00:23:54.97 and he said, read. 00:23:54.98\00:23:56.80 And so I gave him some books to read. 00:23:56.81\00:24:00.75 And I prayed that Jesus would like bless the books 00:24:00.76\00:24:05.53 so that they could help him and then today 00:24:05.54\00:24:10.45 somebody came to our house 00:24:10.46\00:24:12.32 and they were selling some books and so-- 00:24:12.33\00:24:15.97 That were they these kind of books? 00:24:15.98\00:24:17.28 No, not these kinds of books. No. 00:24:17.29\00:24:18.79 But they like to read 00:24:18.80\00:24:20.93 and so since they liked to read I said, 00:24:20.94\00:24:23.56 well here are some books. 00:24:23.57\00:24:25.11 And that was good. 00:24:25.12\00:24:26.19 And so it really looked like 00:24:26.20\00:24:27.56 got I gave them the books and so-- 00:24:27.57\00:24:31.05 Now do you, now how-- you can't carry that basket 00:24:31.06\00:24:33.31 around with you everywhere you go.
