It's a stick. 00:29 Just a stick like you could find 00:30 in the woods or you know, as the branch off of a tree. 00:34 Actually my brother in law, Joe, cut this one down for me so that I can show it to you. 00:39 But even though there's nothing special about it, it can be used 00:44 for many things. This branch could be cut up and thrown into a fireplace. There it will burn 00:49 and it would give lots of sparks and I bet it will spread a lot of warmth to all those around 00:53 it, wouldn't it? Or this stick could be carved into a fishing rod, and hmm, that would be a 00:59 nice fishing pole, huh? Or you might find another one like it and with just a little carpentry 01:04 work you can make a pair of stilts! Well, sometimes sticks something like this, are 01:11 made into hockey sticks or baseball bats. You might even use this stick to help you 01:16 reach something on a very high shelf. You know way... when you're short like me, oof! 01:22 Well probably with a little imagination, you can think of many more uses for a 01:27 stick like this. Today in our Bible story you're going to hear about an unusual stick. 01:33 It was just a simple ordinary stick like this one. 01:37 And it was used for a very common purpose and it was a 01:43 walking stick. The man who owned it used it to lean on when he grew tired of walking. And when 01:49 he had to climb steep hills and mountains or when the ground was 01:53 uneven and bumpy. This man loved God very much. And God and that walking stick did something so 02:01 wonderful that people are still talking about it thousands of years after it took place! 02:06 Isn't that amazing? This stick actually reminds me of boys and girls and grownups too. |
