It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:00:03.52\00:00:06.68 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:00:07.41\00:00:09.70 It's time to share there's a world out there; 00:00:10.28\00:00:13.35 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:13.36\00:00:16.71 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:17.27\00:00:20.10 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:00:20.64\00:00:25.27 Oh! Hi boys and girls don't feel bad. 00:00:27.26\00:00:29.65 I'm not really crying. I'm just pretending. 00:00:30.25\00:00:32.80 But in our Bible story today, people are crying, 00:00:33.52\00:00:35.90 really crying, they feel so badly because 00:00:36.66\00:00:39.50 someone kind and good had died. 00:00:39.51\00:00:41.73 I don't know if you ever been to a funeral or not. 00:00:42.43\00:00:44.51 But if you have or even if you just know about 00:00:45.20\00:00:47.77 someone who died, you understand that 00:00:47.78\00:00:49.91 it's very hard to say good bye to someone 00:00:49.92\00:00:52.02 that you love isn't it. Maybe your favorite pet 00:00:52.03\00:00:55.14 has died or you know like your cat or your dog 00:00:55.15\00:00:58.26 or your bird or even your gold fish. 00:00:59.07\00:01:00.60 If so I really am sorry, because I know that 00:01:01.42\00:01:04.11 you miss them terribly. It's even harder though 00:01:04.12\00:01:07.54 to say goodbye to friends or family. 00:01:07.55\00:01:09.43 Sometimes we don't even know why we love 00:01:10.10\00:01:11.67 someone we just do. But we do know that 00:01:11.68\00:01:15.40 people who are kind and helpful and smile 00:01:15.41\00:01:18.43 and speak friendly words, they usually have 00:01:18.44\00:01:21.13 lots of people who love them. And we don't 00:01:21.14\00:01:23.82 ever want to lose them. The good news is that 00:01:24.39\00:01:28.34 we don't have to say goodbye forever. 00:01:28.35\00:01:30.42 The Bible tells us that the death is just like sleep. 00:01:30.96\00:01:33.57 And some day Jesus will wake up those we love 00:01:34.24\00:01:36.63 and take them to heaven with him. 00:01:36.64\00:01:38.35 I can't wait to have Jesus come again 00:01:39.01\00:01:40.90 and take us all to heaven where we'll never have 00:01:40.91\00:01:42.93 to say goodbye again we'll never have to be apart, 00:01:42.94\00:01:45.85 won't that be wonderful? Today you are going 00:01:45.86\00:01:48.87 to hear a story about a very kind woman 00:01:48.88\00:01:51.24 who died and everybody cried. 00:01:51.25\00:01:53.79 You know why they cried? They cried because 00:01:54.08\00:01:56.61 they loved her very much. But something wonderful 00:01:56.62\00:02:00.25 happened and it's a great story I can't wait 00:02:00.26\00:02:03.51 for you to hear it, I know you are gonna 00:02:03.52\00:02:05.19 like it but first Ranger Jim has 00:02:05.20\00:02:08.05 a very special trip for you too. 00:02:08.06\00:02:10.19 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim here again 00:02:18.31\00:02:19.82 today telling that we've got something 00:02:19.83\00:02:21.65 very exciting for you to see and enjoy and 00:02:21.66\00:02:23.65 to learn about. We have our friends of 00:02:23.66\00:02:25.99 white-faced hornets here today. 00:02:26.00\00:02:27.32 We have two of them here that I'm holding in 00:02:28.01\00:02:29.78 my hand and I'm thankful that they are diseased 00:02:29.79\00:02:32.63 they are no longer alive or I wouldn't be holding 00:02:32.64\00:02:34.58 them like that. The white-faced hornet 00:02:34.59\00:02:36.62 has a bad reputation for a bee, 00:02:36.63\00:02:38.59 very aggressive insect then they do have 00:02:39.29\00:02:40.84 a very powerful sting but unless you disturb 00:02:40.85\00:02:43.63 them they are very friendly. If you find white-faced 00:02:43.64\00:02:46.62 hornets nest hanging in a tree you may observe 00:02:46.63\00:02:49.70 it from a distance but whatever you do, 00:02:49.71\00:02:51.28 don't yield to temptation and start throwing 00:02:51.91\00:02:54.26 rocks or sticks at it. If you do it can be very 00:02:54.27\00:02:57.19 dangerous in fact it can be life-threatening 00:02:57.20\00:02:59.35 because thousands of these insects live 00:02:59.36\00:03:01.59 in one of these large nests and if you should 00:03:01.60\00:03:03.96 disturb them they could really put you 00:03:03.97\00:03:06.21 in the hospital. And so we won't do that, 00:03:06.22\00:03:08.63 well we'll stay away from the white-faced hornets 00:03:08.64\00:03:10.53 nest and we'll just observe. As you can see the 00:03:10.54\00:03:13.95 one that I am holding in my hand on this branch 00:03:13.96\00:03:16.13 has some beautiful coloration in it, 00:03:16.14\00:03:18.16 the white-faced hornets choose deadwood and 00:03:18.70\00:03:21.45 mixes it with its own saliva and it uses that 00:03:21.46\00:03:24.67 to quote the outside of its nest. 00:03:24.68\00:03:26.44 And sometimes we find one like this which 00:03:27.15\00:03:28.83 is particularly beautiful and they use this to shed 00:03:28.84\00:03:32.09 water and retain the heat within the high 00:03:32.10\00:03:35.05 of itself and as you can see they attached 00:03:35.06\00:03:37.66 to the branch including all of the leaves and twigs 00:03:37.67\00:03:42.57 that gives this stability and strength in fact 00:03:43.14\00:03:45.43 in the strongest winds that blow it cannot 00:03:45.44\00:03:47.92 dislodge the white-faced hornets nest, 00:03:47.93\00:03:50.06 so when the queen survives the winter 00:03:50.76\00:03:52.59 and early spring comes she comes forth and 00:03:52.60\00:03:55.17 begins to chew paper, chew wood and produce 00:03:55.18\00:03:58.28 the paper and she builds the first pad and 00:03:58.29\00:04:01.09 its round about so big and containing usually 00:04:01.10\00:04:05.01 about 20 cells, she lays eggs in those 20 cells. 00:04:05.02\00:04:08.42 Then she goes out and does a very unusual 00:04:09.26\00:04:11.02 thing for a white-faced hornet. 00:04:11.03\00:04:12.54 She goes out and begins to capture spiders. Now, 00:04:13.07\00:04:15.14 she doesn't kill them she simply paralyzes 00:04:15.85\00:04:18.21 them by stinging them. Then she brings them 00:04:18.22\00:04:20.87 back and one by one she puts them in the cell 00:04:20.88\00:04:23.47 where she just laid an egg and when that is 00:04:23.48\00:04:25.57 full of tiny little spiders that are not dead, 00:04:25.58\00:04:28.34 they are paralyzed but she packs them 00:04:28.35\00:04:30.86 in nice and tight then she seals it over and 00:04:30.87\00:04:33.53 when that egg hatches and the larva develops 00:04:33.54\00:04:35.96 then it begin to go through the process stages 00:04:35.97\00:04:38.71 of development and it simply eats this way out 00:04:38.72\00:04:41.89 of all the spiders. So we have another one here 00:04:42.35\00:04:46.66 that you might see to give you some idea what 00:04:46.67\00:04:49.02 it looks like inside. Okay, and as you can see 00:04:49.03\00:04:52.81 the different sized pads after those 20 of 00:04:52.82\00:04:55.96 the first pad hatch then the Queen has 20 helpers 00:04:55.97\00:04:59.14 and they go out and begin to capture spiders. 00:04:59.68\00:05:02.08 Everyone is capturing spiders and bringing 00:05:02.55\00:05:04.67 them back, while that is unusual its because 00:05:04.68\00:05:07.08 as adults the white-faced hornet enjoys the same 00:05:07.09\00:05:09.98 foods as Ranger Jim and perhaps you nice 00:05:09.99\00:05:12.67 ripe peaches and apples and plums and things of 00:05:12.68\00:05:16.31 that nature. Especially, those are overripe and 00:05:16.32\00:05:18.47 fall to the ground. They enjoy that very much 00:05:18.48\00:05:21.27 so as they continue to grow and build larger 00:05:22.03\00:05:24.58 and larger pads then they have enough help 00:05:24.59\00:05:27.06 to continue to extend the covering of the outer 00:05:27.07\00:05:29.97 part of the nest all the way down and it sheds 00:05:29.98\00:05:32.69 water that's all that they are interested in 00:05:32.70\00:05:34.40 is keeping it to shed the water off of the high 00:05:34.41\00:05:36.42 until it's about half way finished through the 00:05:36.43\00:05:38.83 middle of the summer and then they continue 00:05:38.84\00:05:40.63 to build this device on the bottom and that 00:05:40.64\00:05:44.63 retains the heat as the days go cooler, 00:05:44.64\00:05:47.36 the evenings go cooler then they need to after 00:05:47.37\00:05:49.36 retain the heat. So the queen will survives 00:05:49.37\00:05:53.06 the winter most of the other hornets do not now 00:05:53.07\00:05:56.16 they are highly developed insect but they are not 00:05:56.17\00:05:59.84 nearly so highly developed as there is honey bee, 00:05:59.85\00:06:02.51 they have the ability to collect nectar and produce 00:06:03.05\00:06:05.45 honey in wax combs for their winter's use and 00:06:05.46\00:06:08.73 so the entire colony of bees survive the long 00:06:09.49\00:06:11.92 winter month, but once again the 00:06:11.93\00:06:14.13 white-faced hornet, after it builds his nest and 00:06:14.14\00:06:16.65 uses it all summer then when its abandoned in 00:06:16.66\00:06:19.21 the fall when the weather begin to get cold 00:06:19.22\00:06:21.11 and then severely cold most if not all of the 00:06:21.59\00:06:24.70 white-faced hornets perish because even though 00:06:24.71\00:06:27.09 it's well insulated they are not equipped 00:06:27.10\00:06:29.29 to survive the winter but there are other creatures 00:06:29.30\00:06:31.81 that find these nests especially the 00:06:31.82\00:06:33.50 White-footed deer mouse and they love to find 00:06:33.51\00:06:36.32 these they go up and simply find the entrance 00:06:36.33\00:06:38.96 hole and maybe enlarge that a bit and go inside 00:06:38.97\00:06:41.95 and here's a wonderfully insulated home and 00:06:42.16\00:06:44.75 up here is the pantry and so the White-footed 00:06:44.76\00:06:47.30 deer mouse begins to store all the different 00:06:47.31\00:06:49.62 kinds of seeds that he will need during the winter 00:06:49.63\00:06:51.74 months and during the coldest part of the winter 00:06:51.75\00:06:54.27 in Northern climates of United States and Canada 00:06:54.70\00:06:56.81 the little White-footed deer mouse is inside 00:06:57.43\00:06:58.94 very comfortable, it maybe 30, 40 degrees 00:06:58.95\00:07:01.79 below zero but the little White-footed mouse 00:07:01.80\00:07:04.02 mouse is very comfortable. Other insects and other 00:07:04.03\00:07:06.70 creatures as well use the home of the 00:07:06.71\00:07:09.23 white-faced hornet. So they are a novelty 00:07:09.24\00:07:11.45 we find them quite often hanging in nature 00:07:11.46\00:07:13.22 and so people like to collect them, 00:07:13.81\00:07:14.97 I have one friend who has about 25 of this all 00:07:14.98\00:07:17.83 different sizes. But there once again boys and girls 00:07:17.84\00:07:20.81 as always when we see these things and begin 00:07:20.82\00:07:23.53 to study about them, and learn more about 00:07:23.54\00:07:25.63 them the answer is always the same isn't it, 00:07:25.64\00:07:28.01 that same wonderful creator Jesus. 00:07:28.54\00:07:30.53 Ah! How He knows to make things and as 00:07:31.29\00:07:33.36 I've told you before what a time that's going 00:07:33.37\00:07:35.65 to be when we get there and we can go with Him 00:07:35.66\00:07:38.21 and Jesus can be our teacher. He can 00:07:38.22\00:07:40.14 tell us how He made it and perhaps tell us 00:07:41.04\00:07:43.12 about things we never even dreamed about. 00:07:43.13\00:07:45.02 I've been studying these things for more than 00:07:45.63\00:07:47.16 50 years and I am amazed that some of the 00:07:47.17\00:07:49.91 things that I learned, amazed that some of 00:07:49.92\00:07:51.82 the things that scientists are just now discovery 00:07:51.83\00:07:54.03 and I think, well you could have known that 00:07:54.65\00:07:56.67 all along. If Jesus made it, it had to be perfect 00:07:56.68\00:07:59.67 because Jesus doesn't make mistakes in 00:08:00.34\00:08:02.15 creation does He, so He is a wonderful friend, 00:08:02.16\00:08:05.01 a best friend to have as Jesus. 00:08:05.02\00:08:06.47 So as your Ranger Jim always tell to close 00:08:07.01\00:08:09.90 with this, don't forget to tell Jesus that 00:08:09.91\00:08:13.07 you love Him, because He really does love you. 00:08:13.08\00:08:16.42 Hello boys and girls, one little candle can 00:08:23.98\00:08:26.86 light up a big, big room. That Jesus said 00:08:26.87\00:08:29.98 we need to be like that, right Andrew? 00:08:29.99\00:08:32.21 Jesus said that, Let your light so shine before men, 00:08:32.74\00:08:35.01 that they may see your good works, 00:08:35.02\00:08:36.79 and glorify your Father in Heaven, 00:08:36.80\00:08:39.52 Matthew 5:16. We need to let our light shine. 00:08:40.19\00:08:44.18 This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine 00:08:48.78\00:08:52.85 This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine 00:08:53.39\00:08:57.28 Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine. 00:08:57.29\00:09:01.09 Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine 00:09:02.57\00:09:06.50 Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine 00:09:07.18\00:09:11.03 Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine. Don't 00:09:11.04\00:09:14.81 let Satan blow it out, I'm gonna let it shine 00:09:16.19\00:09:20.21 Don't let Satan blow it out, I'm gonna let it 00:09:20.83\00:09:24.49 shine Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine. 00:09:24.50\00:09:28.23 Let it shine so Jesus comes, I knew lit it shine 00:09:29.71\00:09:33.63 Let it shine so Jesus comes, I knew lit it shine 00:09:33.64\00:09:37.69 Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine. Let it shine. 00:09:37.70\00:09:45.40 Hi today we're gonna make Apple dip. 00:09:54.81\00:09:56.45 I love apple dip, I love apples too. 00:09:57.16\00:10:00.18 And I have a horse and his name is peel buddy 00:10:01.27\00:10:03.41 and he loves apples too. Apples are really good 00:10:04.12\00:10:06.85 for you. Sometimes I take them to the barn 00:10:06.86\00:10:09.18 with me to share with him but he gives me 00:10:09.19\00:10:10.91 a really funny look when I try to eat them. 00:10:10.92\00:10:12.60 Well, now it's just take a look at the recipe, 00:10:13.84\00:10:15.53 1 container tofutti better than cream cheese 00:10:18.37\00:10:21.34 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup succanat 00:10:22.04\00:10:25.70 1/4 cup better than milk (original flavor). 00:10:26.38\00:10:29.09 Now, let's start with the peanut butter. 00:10:30.25\00:10:32.26 We'll go ahead and pour that in. 00:10:33.61\00:10:34.66 You know I am okay. Now we're gonna go 00:10:42.61\00:10:46.72 ahead and pour in our succanat. 00:10:46.73\00:10:48.56 That succanat is a great alternative for sugar 00:10:49.33\00:10:51.41 stir that up a little bit, and now let's go ahead 00:10:54.65\00:11:01.78 and add this vanilla stir that up also. 00:11:03.63\00:11:10.61 And, also you gonna use this tofutti better 00:11:13.55\00:11:16.32 than cream cheese and there are different kinds 00:11:16.33\00:11:20.72 of tofutti or different kinds of cream cheese 00:11:20.73\00:11:23.79 and it's soy cream cheese and tofutti cream 00:11:23.80\00:11:26.22 cheese this is the brand we like though and 00:11:26.23\00:11:30.34 go ahead and poured that in, and when you go 00:11:30.35\00:11:36.66 to put your soy milk in make sure you look over 00:11:38.38\00:11:42.10 here and you come over the sink or something 00:11:42.11\00:11:44.25 and stir it hold the top on little tight because 00:11:44.26\00:11:46.45 otherwise it won't stir all over it, shake it. 00:11:46.46\00:11:49.02 Bring it back over and pour some, pour some in. 00:11:52.85\00:11:59.06 There we go stir it up, real good, 00:12:05.27\00:12:11.07 it's really good with apples. Taste good and 00:12:12.45\00:12:20.01 you know it's almost done.
