00:03 It's time to share, there's a world out there
00:06 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:09 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:21 Kid's Time, Kid's Time, Kid's Time. 00:25 Hi, boys and girls. 00:26 Look at what I have in my hand. 00:28 Do you know what it is? 00:30 Yes, it's a thermometer. 00:32 Now you probably don't see one of these very often, 00:35 do you? 00:36 Not unless you're not feeling well. 00:37 And then your Mom probably puts it under your tongue to 00:39 find out what your temperature is. 00:41 Now, you can see this mark right here, can you see that? 00:44 Right there, that reads 98.6 degrees. 00:48 Now if your temperature is higher than that it probably 00:52 means that you're sick. 00:54 And it's not much fun to be sick, is it? 00:55 Perhaps you have been sick sometime with a nasty cold, and 01:00 your throat hurt and your sinuses are sore and you have to 01:05 blow your nose all the time and achoo-sneeze. 01:08 Or perhaps you were sick to your stomach. 01:11 And all the foods that you usually like didn't look so 01:14 good to you at all. 01:16 And everything that went into your stomach kept finding 01:19 its way right back up again. 01:21 And that's no fun, either, is it? 01:23 Today you are going to hear a story about a man 01:25 who was sick. 01:27 He was very sick, and he had a disease much worse than a 01:30 cold or the flu. 01:31 He had a disease called leprosy. 01:34 Now, in Bible times there wasn't anything 01:36 worse than leprosy. 01:38 In fact, any skin disease was looked upon with horror, 01:42 because there was no cure. 01:43 In Bible times they didn't have the medicines like 01:46 we have today. 01:47 In today's Bible story you'll hear how a little girl, 01:51 probably not much older than you are, helped 01:55 this man with leprosy. 01:56 Now as you listen to the Bible story why not think about 02:00 something you can do to make a sick person feel better? 02:03 Ask Jesus how you might be kind and helpful to someone who 02:07 is not feeling well, and I know He will give you some 02:10 wonderful ideas. 02:11 Right now, Ranger Jim is going to take us you know where? 02:15 Right inside a natural habitat for cougars! 02:27 Hi, boys and girls, this is Ranger Jim saying welcome to 02:30 Nature Time. 02:31 We're glad you could join us again today. 02:32 I have my friend Craig Sylke with me and he is going to be 02:35 explaining to you something about the big structure you 02:37 see here and about the beautiful animals that live here 02:40 Craig, could you tell the boys and girls something about 02:42 this structure and about the creatures that live here? 02:44 Well, Ranger Jim, I'd love to. 02:46 You know, young people, it's great to be alive and these 02:49 magnificent creatures that you're getting to see today are 02:53 something very special. 02:55 Remember at the Wildlife sanctuary, we have five of 02:59 America's most endangered mammals. 03:01 The eastern panther, or Florida panther as they are 03:03 sometimes called, is actually America's most endangered. 03:07 And this is actually a habitat for those endangered 03:10 species and also for some western species. 03:13 Did you know, Ranger Jim, that the cougar has over 57 03:16 different names? 03:18 Young people, can you imagine one young person, one boy one 03:22 girl, with 57 different names? 03:24 That's a lot of nicknames, isn't it? 03:25 Yes, it is. 03:26 What; cougar, painter, puma, panther, catamount? 03:28 These are all actually the same animal, just depending, 03:31 Ranger Jim, on what part of the country you live in. 03:34 That's amazing! Now, this is quite a large structure. 03:37 I see you have different elevations of this. 03:41 Is that for a purpose? 03:42 Yes, it is, Jim. 03:43 Actually, young people, the reasons that you see the three 03:46 stages are for this: 03:47 every good habitat has to have an exercise area. 03:50 Their tree house has an exercise deck that 03:53 is the first layer. 03:55 The second layer that you see of the solid wood around it 03:59 is their den. 04:01 That is where they would actually have their babies. 04:03 And then the third layer, you know boys and girls, don't 04:05 we enjoy the beach? 04:07 Well, every good cougar needs a good sunbathing place, 04:10 and right up there on top is actually where 04:12 they get the sunrays. 04:14 Wonderful, well what about all this stuff I see on the 04:16 trees here? 04:17 I see you have stainless steel material on that, 04:19 what's that for? 04:20 Yes, Ranger Jim, well you know, young people, mountain 04:24 lions, cougars, love to climb and this is so that they 04:27 can't climb up the tree and just hop right out. 04:29 So that's actually a security shield and also it protects 04:32 the tree. 04:33 Wonderful! See a device there that has some rubber tires, 04:35 do they like to play in that and swing back and 04:37 forth like children? 04:38 They sure do, Jim, you know cats are just remarkable 04:42 play critters. 04:43 You know, I'll bet, boys and girls, each of you may have 04:46 a cat at home, or a puppy dog and you know how they love 04:49 to play. 04:50 Well, these animals are no exception. 04:52 You know God built critters so that they can enjoy life 04:56 just like you and I as human beings. 04:58 Well, that's beautiful, but I see that sometimes when 05:01 animals are reacting to each other I have observed them 05:04 when they are out there, that it appears cruel. 05:07 I see they will be tearing into each other and we have 05:10 some action going on here now. 05:12 What is happening here now? 05:14 Yes, Ranger Jim, and this is natural in the wild. 05:16 It's called habitat or territorial issues. 05:19 And you know each of these animals, young people, have 05:23 certain places even thought this is a natural habitat and 05:25 containment area they have different corners or different 05:28 trees that that's their area, and when a cat crosses over 05:32 into that area they've gone into no man's land and so then 05:35 you hear the reaction that we're hearing right now. 05:37 And so they have rules to live by and if they don't do 05:40 that there are consequences to pay. 05:42 Most definitely, Ranger Jim, just as you and I must live 05:45 by God's rules, so must these beautiful creatures live by 05:48 the rules of nature. 05:50 And that would be true in our families and our school. 05:52 Boys and girls, at school we have rules and if we don't 05:55 follow the rules we have problems, don't we? 05:57 If we don't follow rules at home we have problems. 06:00 So lest we be like the cougars that are fighting over 06:03 territory we follow the rules and do them, as they should 06:06 be, then everything will go very smoothly. 06:08 Well, is there anything that you might add, Craig, to what 06:10 we have talked to before or does that do it? 06:11 Well, Ranger Jim, I would just like to say that you know 06:15 one of the biggest issues, boys and girls, is not only 06:18 territory issues, but habitat. 06:20 Did you know that there are very few places, Ranger Jim, 06:23 where these magnificent creatures can live in the United 06:26 States now? 06:27 While we're putting a house on every mountaintop we are 06:30 encroaching on their habitat and so we have almost made 06:33 the species non-existent. 06:35 Because we insist on moving out into the beautiful country 06:38 here they live. 06:39 So all this is true, even though it may appear cruel to us 06:43 or mean to us, it's a natural procedure. 06:45 They have to establish territory. 06:48 So once again, boys and girls, Jesus made them perfect 06:51 didn't He? 06:52 He created them and we hear this terrible growling and 06:55 snarling and it seems like they are vicious like this. 06:59 In the new earth, my Bible says that these creatures that 07:03 you hear snarling and fighting now, will lay down beside a 07:06 lamb and purr like a kitten. 07:08 That's going to be a wonderful day, isn't it? 07:09 Amen, I can't wait, Ranger Jim. 07:11 It will be a wonderful day. 07:12 Can't we invite the boys and girls to meet us in heaven by 07:15 the big tree with a mountain lion under it? 07:19 With the mountain lion it will be a beautiful place to 07:21 meet, boys and girls, so as always with the snarling 07:23 behind us, boys and girls, this is Ranger Jim telling you 07:26 don't forget to tell Jesus you love Him, because 07:29 He really does love you. 07:36 Hello, boys and girls, when Jesus was on earth, you could 07:39 see the love of God shining right through Him. 07:41 And we need to shine for God too. 07:43 Bobby has a text that talks about that. 07:46 "You are the light of the world. " Matthew 5:14. 07:50 So, we are the light of the world. 07:53 We need to shine like the sun for Jesus. 07:59 Jesus wants me for a Son beam to shine for Him each day. 08:07 In every way try to please Him at home, 08:12 at school, at play. 08:14 A Son beam, a Son beam, Jesus wants me for a Son beam. 08:22 A Son beam, a Son beam, I'll be a Son beam for Him. 09:02 Jesus wants me for a Son beam to shine for Him each day. 09:09 In every way try to please Him at home, at school, 09:15 at play. 09:17 A Son beam, a Son beam, Jesus wants me for a Son beam. 09:25 A Son beam, a Son beam, I'll be a Son beam for Him. 09:32 I'll be a Son beam for Him. 09:50 Hi, today we are going to make carob kisses. 09:52 This is my aunt Linda's recipe. 09:55 She has been cooking for a camp in Wisconsin, called Camp 09:59 Watonga for a long time and the kids there love it. 10:01 Well, I'll read my recipe to you. 10:23 First we are going to start with out peanut butter and 10:26 pour that in. 10:30 yum. This is a great dessert, very good. 10:43 Here we go, and then we'll put our dates in. 10:48 I love dates. Okay. 10:53 We're going to put our maple syrup in or you can use 10:55 honey, either one, both are good in it. 11:03 And nuts, and you can also take these walnuts and put them 11:07 in a microwave. 11:08 It makes them fresher and so they taste better. 11:10 It brings out the taste in them. 11:15 We're going to mix that all up. 11:20 Good. Mix it up good. 11:28 When you get that mixed up you want to get 11:29 your granola ready. 11:32 The granola - you can use any kind of granola you like, 11:37 your favorite granola. 11:39 And Jody and I have already made you a recipe on Kid's 11:43 Time for this if you want to call in and talk to my Aunt 11:48 Brenda about it, or write in, they can send you 11:53 the recipe for it. 11:55 What I'm going to do here is pour this granola into the 12:00 bag like this. 12:07 And then we're going to seal it, and then take it and 12:15 roll it to crunch it. 12:17 It's kind of a bit noisy. 12:26 There we go. Get it all ground up. 12:29 You only want to use a cup of this. 12:33 So, you're going to have a little bit more than a cup. 12:42 Kind of noisy. Almost done. 12:54 There we go all ground up. 12:57 We're just going to use this and just do a cup. 12:59 You might put it over the bowl so that you don't get 13:03 it all over. 13:10 Otherwise if you don't get it over the bowl you might 13:12 spill everywhere like you can see. 13:19 There we go, go ahead and pour that one in. 13:25 and then we have soymilk powder and this is Better Than 13:33 Milk, I'm using Better Than Milk and you can use 13:38 any kind you like. 13:39 That's our favorite. 13:41 Go ahead and pour that in, stir it up good. 13:47 Hmmm, this is very good. 13:53 And over here we have our carob melting. 14:02 If it's not melting good, you can put in a little bit 14:09 of peanut butter. 14:11 And actually, it helps make it melt better. 14:15 So you don't get gritty and stuff. 14:18 And remember to keep your carob on low so that it doesn't 14:26 get gritty while you're melting it. 14:29 Okay, once you have this all mixed up good. 14:32 It's starting to mix up really good. 14:37 Then we're gonna take it and roll it into balls. 14:48 This, roll it in balls like that. 14:53 I'm only going to roll one, actually, because I already 14:57 have some rolled here for you to see. 14:59 See here? And we're going to go over here and take these 15:03 balls and drop it in the carob. 15:13 You dip it down in and then pick it up like this 15:23 and stick it on a plate. 15:29 Yes, I'll do one more for you so you know how to do this. 15:34 Drop one more in, push it down in the carob - 15:41 there's many different kinds of carob you can use. 15:44 There's dark chocolate, milk chocolate, colored kinds of 15:49 carob, dark and milk. 15:54 Do one more like this. 16:02 Once you get these all done, you put it on a plate and 16:06 stick it in the refrigerator to let it firm. 16:09 And I have a finished product to show you. 16:15 Mmmmm, doesn't this look good! 16:17 I've decorated it with a strawberry. 16:20 Make it look pretty. 16:22 Mom calls it garnish, but I decorated it. 16:24 And, you know how my Aunt Brenda is always telling you how 16:29 you can share Jesus. 16:30 Well, this is a great way to share Jesus. 16:32 Just make some of these and take them over to friends or 16:36 someone sad or lonely. 16:38 It's guaranteed to put a smile on their face. 16:41 Well, remember to keep cooking and eat healthy. 16:44 Mmmmm. 17:08 I just love the scent of wildflowers don't you? 17:12 God was so good to make them. 17:14 I'm known as Little Maid and I live with Captain Naaman 17:18 and his wife here in Syria. 17:20 But this is not truly my home. 17:23 You see I grew up in Israel. 17:25 But one day, soldiers from the Syrian army came and took 17:29 me captive. 17:30 That means I was taken away from my friends and family and 17:34 brought to a new country to serve Captain Naaman's wife 17:37 as a slave. 17:39 You can imagine how terrifying it was for me. 17:44 At first I was sad when I came here, but the Captain and 17:50 his wife were good to me. 17:52 I miss my family very much, but I have always been taught 17:57 to love, trust, and obey God, no matter what happens. 18:02 So in my heart, I decided to do all my jobs cheerfully 18:07 and to the best of my ability. 18:09 Now listen carefully as I tell you what happens next. 18:13 It's a very exciting story. 18:15 Captain Naaman is a very courageous man. 18:20 You see he's the Captain of the King of Syria's army. 18:24 And that's a very high position to be in. 18:27 When I came to live with the Captain and his wife I 18:32 noticed right away that he had leprosy, and anyone that 18:37 has that disease people lookdown on. 18:39 Leprosy is a terrible disease of the skin. 18:44 It causes large white spots of rotting skin 18:49 all over your body. 18:51 It eats away your fingers, your nose, your lips, your 18:55 ears, and your toes, until eventually you die. 18:59 It's a really disgusting disease. 19:02 It was making Captain Naaman and his wife very sad 19:08 that he had it. 19:10 God helped me remember a prophet, Prophet 19:14 Elisha from Samaria. 19:16 He is a Prophet of God and I knew he could heal 19:21 Captain Naaman from his leprosy. 19:24 So one day I told Captain Naaman's wife that if only 19:28 Captain Naaman could go see the prophet that 19:30 he would be healed. 19:32 She told her husband about what I had said. 19:36 And you know? 19:38 Captain Naaman did go see Prophet Elisha. 19:41 He wanted to be healed really badly. 19:44 When he arrived the Prophet Elisha didn't just heal 19:49 him right away. 19:51 Instead, he told him to go wash in the 19:53 Jordan River seven times. 19:56 Isn't that odd? I think so. 19:58 Anyways, the Jordan River is a very dirty river and the 20:03 Captain was very angry. 20:05 He wondered why he couldn't just wash in some cleaner 20:08 rivers and be healed. 20:09 But his servants, that were with him said, "Why can't you 20:16 just do this simple thing? 20:17 It's so easy to do. " 20:19 Captain Naaman was thinking about it a long time. 20:22 Finally he put aside his pride and dipped in the Jordan 20:26 River seven times. 20:28 Once, twice, three times, and then he emerged from 20:33 the water the seventh time and his spots were gone! 20:38 He was healed from his leprosy! 20:40 Now Captain Naaman and his wife are so happy. 20:43 And I'm happy too because I was able to help this family. 20:48 And now they know the great power of God in heaven. 21:07 Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory, 21:12 rise and shine and give God the glory, glory. 21:17 Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory 21:22 children of the Lord. 21:27 Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory. 21:32 Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory. 21:37 Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory 21:42 children of the Lord. 21:56 Thank you, Caitlin, for that beautiful song. 21:59 You know, we all need to all rise and shine for 22:01 Jesus, don't we? 22:02 Well, today I have another friend named Caitlin that I've 22:05 asked to join me on Sharing Time. 22:06 And here she is here right now. 22:08 Come on in, Caitlin, you're just in time. 22:10 Can you grab the mail for me right now to see if we have 22:12 any letters? 22:13 Do we have any letters, Yes, we do. 22:15 We have some letters? Aww, bring right over. 22:17 Oh, I love hearing from you boys and girls. 22:20 I love the letters. 22:21 We have some from Boise, Idaho; and Baldwin, Michigan; and 22:25 Ohio, and West Virginia and even one from Russia. 22:30 Russia! Yes. 22:32 Well, Caitlin thank you for coming today. 22:34 I wanted you to share your story that you were telling me 22:37 about of how you share Jesus. 22:39 Can you tell the boys and girls that right now? 22:41 I share Jesus by recording your tapes - your shows and 22:47 giving them to my friends. 22:49 Well, that's a wonderful way to share Jesus, isn't it? 22:52 And you know Caitlin also witnessed to someone 22:54 in her own family. 22:55 Can you tell us who that was? 22:57 My grandparents. 22:59 And how did you witness to your grandparents? 23:01 I used to go to public school and most the kids there went 23:05 to Sunday school and I felt sort of left out and I wanted 23:09 to go to Sunday school. 23:11 But, you see, my grandparents had left the church and they 23:16 knew that Saturday was the right day to worship. 23:19 The Bible says that. 23:21 What we did is they explained it to me why we go on 23:26 Saturday instead of Sunday and the next Sabbath we went to 23:31 go look for a church. 23:32 And now we go to church on every Sabbath. 23:34 Oh, so you go to church with your grandparents. 23:37 And before, they didn't go to church. 23:39 Isn't that wonderful, boys and girls? 23:41 You know you don't have to be a missionary overseas to 23:44 witness, you can witness right here in your own home. 23:47 You might have a mother, a father, or a brother and sister 23:49 that doesn't know Jesus, and you can witness to them. 23:52 Well you know what, Caitlin? 23:53 I think we have just enough time to read a couple of letters 23:56 You want to open one for me? 23:57 Sure. 23:58 And I have some over here I can read. 24:01 Oh, you know what? 24:03 I have one, she sent us a picture. 24:05 Can you hold that up for the boys and girls to see while 24:08 I read the letter and it says, "Dear Brenda. 24:11 I'm nine years old and I love watching your show and I 24:14 have been a singer since I was six. 24:16 And I watch Sophia sing 'Jesus Loves Me' on you show and 24:19 I was surprised to see a little girl like that sing who 24:22 loves the Lord. 24:24 I love Jesus with all my heart and I pray that one day I 24:28 will be baptized. 24:29 Please pray for me. 24:30 Love, Kendra. " 24:31 Wasn't that sweet? 24:32 And she says, "Dear Brenda I'd love to come on 3ABN and 24:35 share how I accepted Jesus. " 24:37 "Well Kendra, I'd like you to come on Sharing Time. 24:40 Just send me your phone number so I can call you and make 24:43 that arrangement, okay? 24:45 I'd like you to come and join me. 24:47 What letter do you have over here? 24:49 This one is from Naomi from Edgewood, New Mexico. 24:53 Okay, this says, "Dear Brenda, My name is Naomi and I am 24:55 five and a half years old, and I love your show. 24:58 Can you send me a Kid's Time activity book?" 25:01 I sure can. 25:02 She says, "Thank you very much, Love, Naomi. " 25:05 "And my sister helped me write my letter. " 25:07 Isn't that sweet? 25:08 She drew a little picture down here, I don't know if you 25:11 can see this, boys and girls, a little lady right there. 25:13 See that picture? Isn't that cute? 25:15 Okay, we have time for maybe another letter over here. 25:18 Let's read this one down here. 25:21 This one's from Sylvia. 25:23 Let's see what Sylvia has to say here. 25:25 Beautiful stationary look at that. 25:27 "Dear Brenda, my name is Sylvia and I shared the word of 25:31 God to my friend. 25:32 Her name is Jacquel and Jacquel is a very nice girl. 25:35 I enjoy Kid's Time very much and your Sharing Time. 25:39 PS - God loves you. " 25:40 You know what, God loves you too, and He loves every one 25:43 of us doesn't He? 25:44 Well I think we have time for just one more letter. 25:47 Do you have a letter over here ready? 25:48 Okay, let's see what this one says. 25:50 This says, "Dear Brenda, one time I told a girl about 25:54 Jesus and she didn't accept Jesus as her Savior 25:57 before she moved away. 25:58 As far as I know she's still not a Christian. 26:00 I would like a Kid's Time activity book. 26:02 Sincerely, Mandy Lynn. " 26:04 Well, Mandy, don't stop praying for your friend, she 26:07 doesn't have to be close by for the Holy Spirit to work. 26:09 Just keep praying and I know that Jesus may touch her 26:12 heart still. 26:13 So we just keep praying, okay? 26:14 Well, thank you very much Caitlin for joining me today, 26:17 for coming all the way from Texas to be here. 26:19 You know if you've written to me, boys and girls, and you 26:21 still haven't heard from me it's because I haven't had 26:24 a good return address to write to. 26:26 So if you've already written and I haven't written back, 26:28 write to me again and give me a good return address so I 26:31 can write back to you and send you a 26:32 Kid's Time Activity book. 26:34 Okay? I'd really like to do that. 26:36 So, thank you once again, Caitlin, and I want you to know, 26:39 boys and girls, that that's all the time we have today, 26:42 but remember wherever you are, it's Kid's Time 26:44 to share Jesus. |
