00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:07 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time Kids Time, Kids Time 00:26 Hi boys and girls, have you ever seen a real wolf? 00:29 Maybe in a zoo. I've a toy wolf with me here today. 00:33 And he looks kind of mean, doesn't he? 00:35 See those sharp teeth, and he has got 00:37 those red beady eyes. 00:39 This wolf does something special too. 00:41 If I push right here on his back, 00:43 you can hear his motor start to run 00:45 and pretty soon he's going to tell us, 00:47 he's very hungry. 00:53 Sounds like he is wanting dinner, doesn't he? 00:55 Well, it kind of remind me of a story, 00:57 I'd like to tell you about a little boy who cried wolf. 01:00 And it goes something like this, 01:02 a little boy was supposed to watch the sheep 01:04 for village people and he wandered the hills 01:07 with the sheep watching out for them 01:08 and making sure they were safe. 01:10 Now, the greatest danger the sheep 01:12 were in was from attack from the prowling wolf. 01:15 And the little boy was supposed to raise 01:16 the alarm if the wolf came by. 01:18 He was supposed to yell wolf, wolf at the top of his lungs. 01:22 Then all the villagers would come 01:23 running with their pitchforks 01:25 and their sticks to drive the wolf away. 01:27 Well, the little boy grew bored 01:29 just watching the sheep. 01:30 So one day he decided, you know, 01:32 I need a little excitement. 01:34 Wolf, wolf, he cried, boy, did he get excitement. 01:37 The villagers came running with their pitchforks 01:40 "where is it, where is it, 01:41 where is the wolf?" they shouted. 01:42 And the little boy started laughing and he said, 01:44 oh, I was just fooling you. 01:47 The villagers didn't think that was very funny 01:49 and they headed back to the village 01:51 and they weren't happy. 01:52 The little boy thought this was great fun though, 01:55 and he thought he will have to do that again. 01:57 Time and time again, he would sound the alarm, 01:59 with the villagers running only to find out 02:02 there was no wolf. 02:04 But one day the little boy spotted something 02:06 at the edge of the field, a dark shadow crept closer. 02:10 Then he could see, sharp pointed ears 02:14 and the long red tongue. 02:16 Oh, it's a wolf the boy yelled, oh, 02:20 my, wolf, wolf, he cried, but nobody came. 02:24 Wolf, wolf, he screamed again and nobody came. 02:28 Oh, listen to me, this time, 02:29 he said, surely you know, 02:31 it's a wolf, it really is a wolf. 02:33 But the villagers were just tired 02:34 of being fooled by this little boy, 02:36 and no one paid him any attention. 02:39 Now, the hungry wolf, 02:41 he plunged into the flock of sheep 02:43 and ate as many as he wanted. 02:46 Now, that story didn't really happened. 02:48 But what it does tells us is true, 02:50 that if people learned that they cannot 02:51 depend upon our word, or if we get the reputation 02:54 for lying or stretching the truth, 02:57 we cannot expect people to take us seriously 02:59 when the time comes that's really important. 03:02 Perhaps there is another lesson here too, 03:04 and that could be that just because 03:06 we've heard something over and over again, 03:09 it doesn't mean that it's not true. 03:11 You know from many, many years, 03:12 people have said that Jesus is coming back to this earth. 03:16 And I'm afraid that we've heard it so many times 03:18 that we no longer take it seriously. 03:20 But Jesus wasn't fooling when He said, 03:22 I will come again. 03:24 So let's remember, two things today, boys and girls. 03:27 One, always tell the truth, 03:30 and two, just because 03:31 something hasn't happened yet, 03:33 doesn't mean that it never will. 03:35 We can depend on Jesus' word and He always tells the truth 03:40 and He is coming again. 03:42 Now, let's see what, 03:43 Ranger Jim, has to show us today. 03:51 Hi, boys and girls. 03:53 We have an opossum to look at. 03:54 Beverly is with us again 03:55 and she is going to be telling us 03:57 something about the opossum. 03:59 The first thing, I understand, 04:00 this is a very unusual creature. 04:03 Yes, it is. 04:04 These animals are the only 04:06 North American marsupial, that means actually, 04:10 they are more closely related to the kangaroo 04:12 than they're to the rat which most people think 04:14 they're rodent and they are not. 04:16 Oh, I see, and so this word marsupial, 04:18 what does this actually mean? 04:20 Marsupial means, they actually 04:21 carry their young in a pouch. 04:24 Oh, I see, and so that means 04:26 that from early birth 04:28 then they're in the mother's pouch. 04:29 Yes, now the opossum has two side pouches. 04:33 They don't have like an apron pouch 04:34 like kangaroo would. 04:36 But they do have two side possums 04:39 and these baby opossums 04:42 crawl into that early on and live there. 04:45 Oh, I see, and so what would be 04:48 the maximum number of babies 04:49 that the opossum could raise? 04:50 Well, she could have more, but she only 04:53 has the availability to raise 13 in the pouch, 04:57 because of the mammary glands that she has. 04:59 Oh, I see, she has 13, 05:01 so its first-come-first-serve. 05:02 That's correct. I see like that. 05:04 So tell me about the opossum's tail. 05:06 I see that is unusual. 05:08 Their tail is unusual. 05:09 At first glance, it looks like a rat tail. 05:12 It's pretty much hairless, 05:14 but it is actually called a prehensile tail, 05:16 that means he can actually use his tail 05:19 to hang on to a branch if he starts to fall. 05:23 They also can pickup leaves and grass 05:26 and carry in their tail to help make a nest. 05:29 Oh, I see, it's rather rough in texture, isn't it? 05:31 Yes, there is a reason for that too. 05:33 If they start to fall out of a tree 05:35 and they use their tail to grasp for branch 05:37 to help stop the fall. 05:39 If it had hair on it, it would be slick 05:41 and he would slide that way. 05:44 By having no hair, he has the availability 05:47 to use it as a grasping mechanism. 05:50 Well, I have seen opossum's climb 05:52 and they're excellent climbers. 05:53 Do they have especial equipment for climbing? 05:55 Yes, they do. 05:56 Their feet are designed, 05:58 they're much almost like a monkey foot, 06:00 their back feet have an extra like a foam. 06:04 Oh, I see. Which is difficult to tell here. 06:07 Oh, maybe we could hold it up 06:08 and we could see or maybe 06:10 we can see them on camera. 06:11 Okay, if not, he has an extra-- 06:13 It's an opposing toenail that would be 06:15 like an opposing thumb just again 06:17 like a monkey would. 06:18 And that helps them climb both up 06:21 and back down the tree. 06:22 Right, as we talked a moment ago 06:23 that you have a kiddy that goes up 06:25 in the tree and get caught up 06:26 in the tree and can't come down. 06:28 You end up calling the fire department, 06:29 but the cat finds it's easier to climb up the tree, 06:31 but then he can't come down 06:32 because he doesn't have the specialized equipment 06:35 that Jesus gave this one. 06:36 That's right. 06:37 Okay, tell me now, 06:38 does this creature have good eating habits. 06:42 Well, they are primarily scavengers 06:44 which means they eat carrion, dead things. 06:47 They will eat live bugs when they find them, 06:49 but they are very prone to eating 06:51 a lot of dead things that they run across. 06:54 They have extremely small sharp teeth for crushing. 06:59 Again they're not rodents, they are carnivorous, 07:02 but they also have a sweet tooth too. 07:04 They like fruit, berries, 07:06 if they find it along their way. 07:08 Oh, I see, like it. 07:09 Well tell me, does this creature 07:11 have any special hearing ability, 07:13 anything special about that or he is just-- 07:15 Well, being a nocturnal animal, 07:17 many nocturnal animals have very large eyes 07:19 to see at night, but they don't have 07:22 very good depth perception at night, 07:23 so mother nature has given them the ability to hear 07:27 better than many of the day time counterparts. 07:30 I see, well, tell me, 07:31 how long does the baby stay with the parent? 07:33 How long the baby stay with her mother 07:35 then before they leave? 07:36 Well, many times, you will see them, 07:38 a very large, fairly large age. 07:41 Clinging on her back and crawling along, 07:45 hitching a ride as you might say, 07:48 along with her for-- long period of time. 07:51 They could actually be with her 07:52 for up to two months. Oh, I see. 07:55 After, after they're born and maybe even longer. 07:58 I see, then do they live 07:59 the general area like many other creatures do. 08:02 Possums are not social with each other. 08:04 So once they fall off mama and start 08:07 on their own track through life, 08:09 they're usually pretty solitary, 08:11 they just find their own way, 08:12 they're not territorial like many of the other mammals. 08:15 They just keep motoring along and finding their way, 08:19 finding food on the way, making a den every night. 08:22 I see, and they start to travel along 08:23 and when they find a place that they like 08:25 and enjoy the next spring. 08:27 Then how old are the females 08:28 before they start mating and breeding? 08:30 They will start having their young, 08:32 the very second year, or their second year, 08:34 their first mature year, 08:37 because opossums are very short lived as well. 08:39 They only live between two and three years of age 08:42 under normal circumstances. 08:43 Oh, and I see, and you were telling me 08:45 that there are more opossums alive today, 08:46 they're perhaps ever in the history of the opossum. 08:49 That's correct, that's unfortunately 08:51 due to man's technology, 08:53 because of the road kill that they can find more food. 08:57 They're bigger, stronger, healthier, 08:59 they can produce more young, 09:01 more young could survive because of the food sources. 09:03 So once again, we see God's hand in it, don't we? 09:06 Every one of these creatures 09:08 we seen that God has made and provided for, 09:11 given the special equipment to survive with, 09:13 and he is a God of love. 09:15 And what wonderful creative ability 09:16 that he has. 09:18 What a joyful time it will be, 09:19 when He comes back, see us again. 09:21 We can go and spend eternity with Him. 09:24 And don't forget as always, 09:26 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him, 09:28 because He really does love you. 09:37 Hello, boys and girls, 09:39 Philippians 4:13, is a wonderful verse. 09:42 Cindy, could you read that for us, please. 09:44 "I can do all things through Christ 09:47 which strengtheneth me." 09:49 Boys and girls, we can do anything 09:51 because He's able. 09:58 He's able, He's able, I know He's able 10:03 I know my Lord is able to carry me through 10:08 He's able, He's able, I know He's able 10:13 I know my Lord is able to carry me through 10:18 He healed the broken-hearted And He set the captive free 10:24 He made the lame to walk again 10:26 And caused the blind to see that's why 10:29 He's able, He's able, I know He's able 10:34 I know my Lord is able to carry me through 10:39 I know my Lord is able to carry me through 10:48 Jesus will give you success in anything 10:50 you want to do boys and girls, 10:51 because He's able. 10:59 Oh! How I love Jesus? 11:06 You won't believe what just happened 11:07 to me back there. 11:09 Jesus healed me and all because I touched Him. 11:13 I've been so sick for 12 years. 11:16 I've tried every doctor. 11:18 I've tried every medicine, every home remedy, 11:21 but nothing worked. 11:22 Even my friends didn't even want to be with me anymore. 11:26 They were afraid that I would give them my sickness. 11:30 Oh, but, when I heard somebody told me 11:34 that Jesus could help me, that He healed the blind. 11:39 And He made the deaf to hear and He helped cripples 11:44 and He loved people. 11:46 I knew in my heart that if I could 11:49 just get close to this Jesus that He would heal me too. 11:53 One day, I heard that He was close by, 11:57 and I thought I have to go. 11:59 This is my only chance, I am so weak, 12:02 I have to be near Jesus and so with great difficulty, 12:07 I made my way where Jesus was. 12:10 But there were so many people pushed around Him. 12:13 I could not get close to Him 12:16 and I was so tired and so weak 12:18 and He seems so far away 12:21 and I just bend on my knees and as I did. 12:25 I noticed that Jesus was making His way towards me. 12:32 Jesus was making His way to my side. 12:36 I saw, He was coming closer, and as He came, 12:39 I reached out as far as I could 12:42 reach without the strength that I had and as I did, 12:45 as God pressed on my fingers. 12:48 I reached out and clasped Him and then He was gone. 12:52 But at that moment, I felt something new. 12:55 I felt like energy and power came through me. 12:59 I could stand up, 13:01 I felt alive for the first time in my life, 13:04 I felt alive, and as I was standing there, 13:08 feeling so good and so whole again. 13:12 I heard Jesus say, who touched me, 13:16 and then I heard one of His disciple say, 13:19 "Well, master, there are people all around you, 13:22 how can you say who touched you?" 13:24 And He said, "I felt power go out of me." 13:28 And then I could not be quite any longer. 13:32 I make my way to Jesus, 13:34 I followed His feet and I said, 13:36 "Oh, Jesus, thank you so much, 13:40 you've healed me Jesus." 13:43 And He took me, and He put His arms around me, 13:48 and He hugged me. 13:50 And he's said, "Your faith, 13:54 your faith has made you whole, go in peace." 13:59 I felt His love. 14:01 I'm praising my Jesus, He has healed me. 14:05 Oh! How I love Jesus. 17:07 Today you heard a wonderful Bible story 17:09 about a woman who was healed 17:11 just by touching the hem of Jesus' robe. 17:14 It was her faith that made her well, wasn't it? 17:16 And I'm sure it warm Jesus' heart. 17:18 The Bible has a lot to say about faith. 17:21 You know, Jesus said that if, 17:22 we had even tiny speck of faith, you know, 17:25 what a speck is, say it tiny as a mustard seed, 17:28 that we could move mountain. 17:30 Can you imagine moving mountain? 17:32 I don't know if anyone has ever tried 17:34 to move a mountain. 17:35 But I do know, that if there was 17:36 a good reason to do it, 17:37 Jesus could do it and He would do it. 17:40 Jesus can do anything. 17:42 Just take a look at some of the wonders 17:44 Jesus has done with the things in nature. 17:46 First of all, He created this world 17:48 and every thing in it from the tiniest insect, 17:51 to the highest mountain, 17:53 and He made planet and galaxies and stars. 17:56 He made animals and people 17:58 and all the things that grow out of the earth. 18:01 I like the big giant red woods, 18:03 don't you and a tiny little violet. 18:05 Jesus made those things. 18:07 You know, to sum it up, 18:08 the Bible says that He made everything, 18:11 everything that was made came from Jesus, 18:14 that about covers it all, doesn't it? 18:16 But He didn't just create the earth 18:18 and the people in it and then forget about them. 18:21 No, Jesus wouldn't do that. 18:22 He made food far from the sky 18:25 to feed hungry as we're life. 18:26 And he send hornets to help His people 18:28 fight against their enemies, 18:30 can you imagine that hornets. 18:32 He showed Moses the bush 18:33 all on fire that didn't burn up. 18:36 I can think of other things too like 18:38 when He made this sun stand still in the sky, 18:41 so that Joshua could finish fighting a battle. 18:43 And he caused the Red Sea to blow up 18:45 on either side to make a path 18:47 for His people to walk safely across. 18:50 He did almost the same thing with the Jordon River, 18:52 do you remember? 18:53 He sent fire from the sky to show his worshippers 18:56 that He had heard their prayers. 18:58 And He caused a huge wall to fall down at them, 19:01 moment his people blew trumpet 19:03 as He had told them to. 19:05 He created an earthquake to punish 19:07 those who would spoke against His chosen leaders. 19:10 And He send bears out of the woods 19:12 to punish children who made fun of a prophet, 19:14 can you imagine bears. 19:16 He even made hungry lions purr like little pussy cats 19:19 instead of feeding on Daniel, who was thrown in the den. 19:23 Our God is the God of miracles. 19:26 Those are only a few of the wonder 19:27 He has performed in nature and Bible stories also. 19:31 When Jesus was here on earth 19:32 He performed miracles everyday. 19:34 Jesus caught fish to fill the nets of fisherman 19:37 who knew what they were doing, 19:38 they knew how to fish. 19:40 They fish all night without catching one fish, 19:43 but Jesus filled their nets. 19:45 He simply spoke to that, you know, 19:46 the raging waves and howling wind 19:49 and they just settle right down 19:51 without a boat, even as I. 19:53 He perform miracles of healing everyday too. 19:56 And there were just so many, too many to count. 19:59 There is nothing He would not do, 20:01 or could not do for us 20:02 that would be for our own good. 20:04 But when He said, we could remove mountains, 20:07 if we had just a little faith. 20:09 I think He might have been talking 20:10 about problems in our lives 20:12 that look like great big mountains to us. 20:14 And I think, He is telling us, 20:16 let Me worry about your problems, 20:18 for nothing is too hard for the Lord, isn't? 20:21 Perhaps Jesus has helped you with the problem. 20:23 If He has, why not write and tell me about it. 20:26 Right now, do you know what its time for? 20:29 That's right, its mail box time 20:31 and let's check our mail box to see 20:33 if we have any letters from you. 20:36 I'd like to see if there is one here 20:38 from maybe another country 20:41 that I haven't heard from yet. 20:42 I always get excited about that. 20:44 I have got lots of mail today too. 20:47 Oh, good I've got one here from, 20:51 Mark Johnson, and, Mike Pratner. 20:57 I have got somebody from, Ryan, from Florida. 21:00 I have got one from Gregory Walker. 21:03 Let's see what Gregory has to say. 21:07 Okay.
