00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so,
00:16 let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:26 Hi, boys and girls.
00:27 Do any of you have a baby in your house?
00:29 If you do, you know that babies need
00:31 lots of love and care.
00:33 And they need families and food and hugs
00:35 and blankets and a nice crib to sleep in.
00:38 Well, our story today is about a baby,
00:41 who didn't sleep in a crib
00:42 in fact this baby found himself
00:44 floating on the river Nile, in a little handmade boat.
00:48 Nearby there were crocodiles
00:50 sunning themselves on the shore.
00:51 Kind of like this one right here.
00:54 Oh, can you see his sharp teeth coming down right here?
00:58 Oh, this one looks a little hungry, doesn't he?
01:01 The scales, feel these scales on his body,
01:04 kind of rough right here
01:05 and this tail can do some damage too.
01:08 Not a safe place for a baby to be.
01:11 And the baby in our story had a big sister,
01:14 who stood knee deep in the water
01:16 and peeped around the tall grasses to watch and see
01:20 what would happen to her baby brother.
01:22 But why would a mother leave her baby
01:24 in a boat on the river.
01:26 We'll find out when we listen to our Bible story today.
01:31 God cares about babies, boy babies
01:33 and girl babies and animal babies.
01:36 God cares about big sisters and big brothers
01:38 and grownups too.
01:40 Long ago when God finished creating the world
01:43 He looked around and He saw the people
01:45 that He had made, petting baby dear and playing tag
01:49 with the monkeys and wrapping their arms
01:51 around tigers and kangaroos.
01:53 He saw birds lining on the man's shoulders
01:56 and watched as a baby raccoon
01:58 snuggled into the woman's arm.
02:01 God smiled and said, that's good,
02:04 yes, that's very good.
02:07 You can find God's own words
02:09 in the first book of the Bible.
02:10 The Book of Genesis, the book of beginnings.
02:13 Why not read them for yourself
02:15 right in the first chapter.
02:17 Let me know if you find them.
02:19 Now let's see what Ranger Jim has to show us.
02:31 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim here.
02:34 We have a special treat for you today.
02:36 We're visiting with some friends
02:37 that have some Emu, and we would like to show them--
02:40 first of all we like to show you an egg
02:42 where the Emu comes from.
02:44 This is rather a large egg is it not,
02:46 and an unusual color.
02:47 It has a very, very thick shell, in fact,
02:51 if we would to stand on this egg
02:52 when it is intact and be careful to do
02:54 so to distribute our weight correctly
02:56 it could support the weight of a man.
02:59 And the Emu lays the egg
03:00 and very unusual in the bird world,
03:05 that we have that the female lays the egg
03:08 and then guess who gets to take care
03:09 of the job of hatching it.
03:11 That's right, daddy bird's called into the picture
03:15 and he gets to sit on the eggs.
03:16 The Emu is a native of Australia
03:18 and it's in their make up, in their genes
03:22 that they will lay eggs at a certain time of year
03:25 and because in that part of the world,
03:28 January and February is when they normally
03:30 would lay their eggs.
03:31 But when we import them and bring them to this country
03:34 January is not a good time to lay eggs
03:37 to hatch their babies and so most folk
03:40 that raise Emus have incubators.
03:42 In fact a friend of mine Debbie that gave me this egg.
03:46 This egg didn't hatch and it's number 12
03:48 in her incubator because she raises baby Emus and she,
03:53 Debbie the favor of taking the inside out
03:55 and packing it so that I could pick it about
03:57 and show boys and girls this huge egg.
04:01 And on this farm they were surprised last January,
04:04 when the male suddenly appeared after being gone
04:08 for about six weeks they didn't see him,
04:10 they didn't see him, they didn't know
04:11 what happen to him at all.
04:12 And suddenly he appeared walking through the snow
04:16 with four baby Emus.
04:18 Because they're, once again the female laid the eggs
04:21 when she was suppose to lay them in January
04:24 and dad faithful to his task
04:26 he went out and sat on the eggs.
04:29 And it is very unusual for people even in an incubator
04:33 to hatch all of the eggs.
04:35 This rarely all, rarely happen
04:38 because the variation in the temperature
04:40 can only be one or two degrees,
04:42 even in a professionally manufactured incubator.
04:46 But this fellow was able to sit on the eggs
04:48 through the cold rain and the cold snow
04:51 and looking at the Emus that you can see here,
04:53 that you see they have a very
04:55 heavy shaggy back their feathers.
04:57 And so they're well adapted to shedding water
05:00 and the snow and things of that nature
05:02 and so that's how he was able to carry out his task.
05:05 Now the Emu is very, very widely distributed now
05:10 in the United States because a number of the years ago
05:12 they thought this would be the next great source
05:14 of flesh foods that Americans would like to eat this.
05:17 Because the Emu flesh is very low in fat content.
05:21 Americans are becoming more and more and more aware
05:24 of the fat that they're eating,
05:26 and so these creators very important to this country
05:28 thinking that they would be commercial grade food
05:31 for human beings to consume.
05:34 And looking out of the Emus now,
05:35 you see the baby is up here and he looks
05:38 a little bit unusual if you've never seen the Emus
05:41 because his feathers are sticking out
05:43 in different directions and he is quite shy.
05:46 But he is the one baby that survived
05:48 and so they're happy to have that one baby that survived.
05:51 I wish the mother bird would be up closer
05:53 and you could hear the sound that she makes.
05:55 She makes a very deep drumming sound
05:59 deep down in the front of her body
06:01 and it's in her breathing apparatus
06:03 and it's something like-- this is not really accurate
06:05 but it's something like when we would swallow our air
06:07 and make this sound it's sort of a boom, boom, boom,
06:10 boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
06:12 but it has much more resonance to that
06:15 and so that is very unusual to hear that.
06:17 And I was so pleased when we came today
06:19 and they had a female that was calling and talking.
06:22 Now that is a sound that they normally make
06:24 when they're curious, they see something
06:27 they had never seen before or if it's an unusual sound
06:31 they will respond to that.
06:32 Like the lady who owns the Emus was saying
06:34 that she has a three wheeler
06:36 and one day she was trying to start
06:37 that and the motor didn't want to fire exactly right
06:40 so the motor was turning over going.
06:43 And immediately the mother Emu began to respond to that.
06:46 And though the Emu is a very friendly bird,
06:48 they are defensive when they have young around
06:51 but they can even be dangerous to human beings.
06:54 I know that you would never going to a pen
06:55 if you should be visiting someone a neighbor
06:58 or a friend that has Emus
07:00 you would never want to go into that pen unescorted,
07:02 because the Emu has the ability to jump in the air
07:05 and strike out with its feet.
07:06 It has very powerful claws on its toes
07:09 and you might be injured, okay.
07:11 So if you go to someone that has an Emu
07:13 just visit with them and see it
07:15 and learned to enjoy it and perhaps some day
07:18 you could come to this lady's house
07:19 where she has a baby that you can see.
07:22 But anyway, boys and girls,
07:23 as always when we see the creatures
07:25 that God has made for us to see and enjoy
07:28 and learn about.
07:30 We find the story is always true,
07:33 that He does a magnificent job
07:35 if it's an Emu or a mockingbird,
07:38 a salamander or a turtle whatever it might be,
07:41 it barely shouts, I love you,
07:43 I've given you all of these creatures,
07:45 to see and to study and to learn about.
07:48 Because in learning about them you will discover
07:51 that I am truly that loving creator God.
07:55 So Ranger Jim here, boys and girls,
07:57 telling you once again,
07:58 be sure that you tell Jesus that you love Him,
08:01 because He really does love you.
08:11 Hello, boys and girls.
08:13 We need to show the love of Jesus everyday,
08:16 Brittany and Bethany have a text that talks about that.
08:19 "And this gospel of the kingdom
08:22 shall be preached in all the world
08:24 for a witness unto all nations,
08:27 and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14.
08:31 Yes, boys and girls,
08:32 it's time to share the love of Jesus.
08:40 It's time to share there's a world out there,
08:44 looking for a friend like Jesus.
08:47 It's time to share there's a world out there,
08:50 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
08:54 It's time to share there's a world out there,
08:57 Looking for a friend like Jesus.
09:00 It's time to share there's a world out there,
09:03 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
09:07 We love to read His Holy Word.
09:10 He hears us when we pray,
09:13 And sends His Spirit to our lips,
09:16 So we know the words to say.
09:21 It's time to share there's a world out there,
09:24 Looking for a friend like Jesus.
09:27 It's time to share there's a world out there,
09:30 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
09:34 It's time to share there's a world out there,
09:37 Looking for a friend like Jesus.
09:40 It's time to share there's a world out there,
09:43 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
09:46 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
09:49 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
09:58 Boys and girls, Jesus is coming soon.
10:01 We need to tell others about Him.
10:09 Hi, today we're making Peanut Butter yum yums.
10:12 Oh, it sounds delicious.
10:14 Katie, why don't you start reading the recipe? Okay.
10:36 Okay, Jody, let's get started.
10:37 Okay, we're gonna start with oil here.
10:40 So take a 1/4 cup of oil and just pour it
10:43 right into your bowl.
10:44 Okay, we take peanut butter next,
10:47 I love peanut butter.
10:54 These cookies are great like when you go home
10:56 from school or whatever, you know,
10:57 have a cup of soy milk with it, it's really great.
11:02 Here, yummy snack.
11:04 Okay, you're on your watch for dessert, very good.
11:10 Okay, then we're gonna put in our 3/4 cup Sucanat.
11:14 Oh, I love Sucanat, great sweetener,
11:18 it's a substitute for sugar.
11:19 Yes, taste good too.
11:21 Yes, okay, I'm gonna add a little honey.
11:23 You can add the applesauce. Okay.
11:25 The applesauce, and you can stir.
11:28 Okay, where is spatula. We Spatula this out.
11:34 I love peanut butter cookies. Um, me too.
11:40 Don't spill it on my hand there.
11:41 Oh, sorry, okay.
11:45 Okay, let's put in our flour.
11:49 Looking yummy, okay.
11:55 Peanut butter yum yums.
11:56 We all know how it got its name.
12:01 Looks yummy.
12:04 You wanna pour these in well.
12:05 Okay, let's stick in our vanilla.
12:10 Make sure not to spill it on your finger.
12:13 And the salt. And the salt. Okay.
12:22 Looks delicious.
12:27 You want to mix it up for a little bit, Jody.
12:29 Yeah, I'll get the pan here. Okay.
12:32 We're gonna show you how to put it on your pan.
12:36 It's looking a little sticky, Katie,
12:37 maybe it needs a little more flour.
12:39 What do you think?
12:40 Yeah, I think so, maybe we should add some more.
12:46 If it looks too wet to you,
12:49 you should need more flour but if looks too dry,
12:52 you can put more soy milk or applesauce.
12:56 Yeah, or apple concentrate, that's looking better.
12:59 Yes, it looks a lot better.
13:02 You wanna be able to make it into nice little balls.
13:04 Maybe it needs a little more?
13:07 Maybe a little, maybe a little bit more,
13:09 that's how it looks, okay.
13:12 Yeah, looks delicious,
13:18 almost done stirring there.
13:20 Almost. Okay, that's looks better off the flour
13:25 yep, yep. Okay, okay.
13:28 And make sure you wash your hands
13:29 before you use, before you make them into little balls,
13:34 just take a little bit, and a little bit
13:35 and roll it into a ball.
13:39 Stick it on your pan. Oh, I'm sorry.
13:42 It's okay, you just ruin my ball that's all.
13:46 Well, let's make a few more and they we can flatten them.
13:50 Mix it all the way,
13:51 I'll show you how you do that.
13:56 Okay, we make one more.
13:57 Okay, you take a fork like this.
14:00 We're gonna mash in that way.
14:01 Like that, and then mashed them like that,
14:06 so it makes a neat little design there.
14:09 It's a little prod, it's so good.
14:15 Yeah, okay.
14:20 Move that aside we're gonna show you
14:22 the finished product.
14:25 We baked these at 350 degrees,
14:27 eight to ten minutes and get an adult
14:29 to have you put them in the oven and take them out.
14:32 Okay, until next time, stay cooking.
14:35 And eat healthy.
14:45 Fear thou not, for I am with thee,
14:49 be not dismayed, for I am thy God,
14:56 I will strengthen thee,
14:59 yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold.
15:06 Oh, don't worry, you won't bother baby Moses,
15:10 he can laugh, he can coup, he can do anything,
15:14 he's safe now from wicked King Pharaoh,
15:18 ruler of all Egypt.
15:20 You see, it wasn't always that way for us.
15:24 Used to be when Joseph was in charge
15:26 we were given the best to the land,
15:29 the King Pharaoh in that day liked us,
15:32 then he passed away and Joseph passed away
15:36 and the wicked King Pharaoh
15:37 that we have now doesn't like us at all.
15:40 He is so wicked that he has made all of us slaves
15:45 and he has even made it a decree
15:47 that every baby boy should be killed.
15:52 But I determined in my heart
15:54 that this would not happen to baby Moses.
15:58 I knew that God had something special for this baby.
16:02 That God loved this baby, just as He loves all babies.
16:06 But this baby was something very special
16:08 and I determined in my heart that I would hide him,
16:12 that I would do everything
16:13 I could so the King would not find this baby.
16:16 I hid him unto the bed but he made too much noise
16:20 and I was afraid the soldiers would hear,
16:22 and then so I cried out to God.
16:24 Oh, God in heaven tell me what I can do,
16:28 for this baby to protect him.
16:31 And God impressed me to make a basket boat for this baby.
16:35 And so I put, lined it with pitch and soft material
16:40 and I put him in the basket boat
16:42 and I took him down to the river
16:44 and put him in the bulrushes.
16:46 And I asked my daughter Miriam to watch,
16:49 so that little baby Moses would be safe.
16:52 It wasn't long while Miriam was watching
16:56 that the princess came down.
17:00 And the princess with her maidens
17:03 and she saw the little basket boat in the bulrushes.
17:07 And she said go, bring me that basket at once.
17:10 And they brought the basket
17:12 and when they opened the basket
17:15 there was baby Moses and he started crying,
17:18 he wasn't used to a strange person
17:20 looking at him and he was also hungry.
17:23 Miriam ran up as fast as she could and she said,
17:27 could I bind a nurse for you.
17:29 And the princess said yes, go at once.
17:32 And so she ran to where I was praying to God
17:35 to spare baby Moses, to save him
17:38 from the wicked King Pharaoh,
17:40 and she said, mommy, hurry, hurry,
17:43 the King won't throw our baby in the river.
17:46 The princess has found him
17:47 and she wants him for her very own.
17:49 I was rejoicing in my heart
17:52 that God had answered my prayer
17:54 to spare our precious baby.
17:56 And so I ran as fast as I could
17:58 and when I got there
18:00 she put little Moses into my arms.
18:03 And I held him and she said here,
18:08 take care of him until he is older
18:10 and I will pay you to take care of him.
18:13 Now Moses would have everything he needed,
18:17 I was so thankful to the great God in heaven.
18:21 He heard me Jochebed, He heard my prayer for help
18:27 when I cried to God to save my baby.
18:30 And I know that God have something very special
18:32 for this little boy.
18:34 And I thank Him,
18:35 God has something special for you too
18:38 and he will help you also.
18:55 Wasn't that an amazing story
18:56 how Jesus looked after baby Moses and protected him.
19:00 Jesus will protect you too.
19:02 All you have to do is pray and ask Him
19:03 and He will be with you.
19:05 He hears even the tiniest little prayer.
19:08 We serve a wonderful God don't we?
19:11 You know, sharing time is all about sharing Jesus.
19:14 When you share Jesus with others
19:15 it makes Him very happy doesn't it?
19:18 And I like making Jesus happy.
19:20 I also like it when you write
19:21 and tell me ways you share Jesus.
19:23 This gives other boys and girls ideas
19:25 on how they can witness too.
19:27 You know, there is so many ways
19:29 you can share Jesus,
19:30 it doesn't have to be just telling about Jesus does it.
19:33 Sometimes I think we, we think we're too little that,
19:36 there is nothing we can do to serve Jesus.
19:39 But you know boys and girls there isn't any age
19:41 that is too little to serve Jesus.
19:43 We can witness for Him
19:45 right now you can right there,
19:46 write at whatever age you are.
19:49 Let's go to our mail box to see
19:50 if I have any letters today from you.
19:52 I hope and I could find one.
19:55 You know, I also have a letter to mail today.
19:58 I'm mailing this letter to my grandson
20:00 Michael in Massachusetts.
20:02 And let's see if I have any mail.
20:05 I do have some letters.
20:08 Oh, yes I love getting mail.
20:11 I've got three letters today,
20:13 and I don't want to forget this letter to Michael,
20:15 I want him to know grandma loves him.
20:17 So I put that in there and close it uptight.
20:20 And boys and girls, when you mail a letter
20:21 in a mail box like this one,
20:23 you need to put the flag up right like this
20:26 and that tells the postmen that there is a letter inside
20:29 and then he will stop and get your letter,
20:31 isn't that nice?
20:33 Now let me see, I have a letter from,
20:36 I have a letter from Nicole in Edmore, Michigan
20:40 and I have one from a Kalie O'Brien.
20:45 And I have one from Eric in Steering, Massachusetts.
20:49 Oh, I want to share them with you, I'm so excited.
20:52 Let's see what they had to say.
20:55 Well, I think I'll read the one from Nicole first.
20:59 And oh, you know what,
21:05 Nicole has sent us a picture of herself.
21:08 I love it when you send pictures, boys and girls.
21:10 When you write to me you can send a picture
21:12 and I will show it to, let's show everyone at home,
21:14 a picture of Nicole.
21:15 Thank you, Nicole for sending your picture.
21:18 Let's see what Nicole has to say.
21:21 Dear Brenda, my name is Nicole
21:24 and I'll pray for my dad every day and night
21:27 about his drinking.
21:28 I prayed Jesus would make him miserable when he drink.
21:31 One day dad called mom at work and said,
21:33 I'm so miserable, and he still drinks but I think,
21:37 he thinks about Jesus a lot.
21:39 So I will keep praying
21:40 and being a good Christian for Him.
21:42 I love Jesus, your friend Nicole,
21:45 I'm seven years old.
21:47 Nicole, thank you for writing your letter.
21:50 You know, there are so many times
21:52 that we can get discouraged
21:53 if our prayers aren't answer right away,
21:55 but don't get discourage Jesus does hear us
21:58 and He does answer our prayers.
21:59 So don't stop praying for your daddy.
22:01 I'll say a pray for him too.
22:03 And boys and girls at home
22:04 let's pray for Nicole's daddy all right.
22:07 Now let's see what else we have,
22:09 we have a letter from Kalie O'Brien,
22:11 let's see what Kalie has to say.
22:13 Kalie's such a beautiful name,
22:16 she spelled it here, KALIE, isn't that a beautiful name?
22:21 Let's see what Kalie has to say,
22:23 she says, dear Brenda, my name is Kalie
22:26 and I love riding my bike and playing in the snow.
22:30 Snow is awfully cold for me,
22:32 but I know you love the snow,
22:34 because there is so many fun things to do
22:35 in the snow, isn't there.
22:37 You might has some ice skates or maybe a sled
22:39 to go sledding down some hills,
22:41 maybe mom and dad can play you in the toboggan,
22:44 there are so many nice things to do
22:45 in the snow isn't there.
22:48 And Kalie says, she also likes to travel.
22:50 I like to travel too.
22:52 One day, the way I witness for Jesus
22:54 was when I baked bread and wrote a scripture verse
22:57 on a piece of paper.
22:58 Then we visited people who were sick
23:00 and gave them the bread and scripture verse.
23:02 It was fun, I like helping people, sincerely, Kalie.
23:07 Kalie, thank you, for sharing your letter,
23:09 that was a really good idea to put the scripture verse
23:14 with the bread and I know that your friends
23:16 and neighbors appreciated that, didn't they.
23:19 But show them that you cared about him
23:20 and they saw Jesus in you for your kindness.
23:23 That was a wonderful way to witness.
23:26 You know, Jesus has shared
23:27 so many things with us hasn't He.
23:29 He gave us this big beautiful world
23:32 with wonderful things in it.
23:33 Like the Emu that we heard about from Ranger Jim.
23:36 There's also wonderful things that he has given us.
23:39 I think about just the beautiful flowers and trees.
23:44 What about your pet dog or your kitty cat
23:46 or maybe if the goldfish at home,
23:48 there's, Jesus gave us all those things didn't He.
23:52 And He gave them to us because He loves us.
23:54 He could have made the world just all flat and brown
23:57 and not anything green in it, but he didn't.
23:59 Those are gifts that Jesus gave us.
24:01 So when you go outside
24:02 and you look at all the beautiful things that,
24:05 that you see you see the birds flying in the sky,
24:09 and you see the green grass and the shrubs and the trees.
24:12 Say thank you prayer to Jesus
24:14 because those are gifts that Jesus gave us.
24:16 He also gave us the Bible with great stories in it,
24:19 like the story of baby Moses.
24:22 You know, best of all He shared Himself with us,
24:25 He came to this earth and He showed us how to live.
24:28 He even died for us on the cross
24:31 so that our sins can be forgiven
24:33 and we can go to heaven with Him.
24:35 You know, I'm looking forward to that,
24:37 I want to go to heaven, don't you, boys and girls?
24:41 You know, I know of one little boy
24:42 who share Jesus by visiting a sick woman.
24:46 And she was in the hospital
24:47 and he marched right up to her bed
24:49 and he pulled out of violin
24:50 and he placed it under his chin
24:52 and he began to play just like this very sweetly.
24:55 He start to playing the song called
24:57 "Jesus Never Failed"
24:59 and he got through with that song
25:00 and he played another and he played one called
25:03 "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus."
25:05 I love that song.
25:06 And the woman just kind of whispered along,
25:08 she wasn't very strong,
25:10 she couldn't sing too much.
25:12 But the violin began to sing Jesus loves me.
25:16 This time the woman's whisper go a little stronger
25:19 and she kind of whispered a little bit more
25:22 and when the boy finally played
25:24 "The Old Rugged Cross,"
25:26 you know, the woman's voice started trembling.
25:28 And this time she started singing along,
25:31 not beautifully but you could hear her singing
25:34 and she said, I will cling to the Old Rugged Cross
25:37 and exchange it some day for a crown.
25:41 I bet you know that song don't you boys and girls.
25:43 I love that song too
25:45 and when the little boy finished playing,
25:47 you know, the lady's sad old eyes weren't sad anymore,
25:50 they just shone with happiness.
25:52 She was so happy that this little boy
25:54 took his time out to come
25:56 and play for a little old lady in a hospital.
25:59 You know, the little boy his eyes were smiling
26:02 and shining too, because you know what, he was happy.
26:05 That's what it is, boys and girls,
26:06 when we do something for others,
26:08 it makes us happy.
26:09 We might want to gave someone else a blessing
26:12 but we get a blessing too don't we,
26:14 from, from sharing Jesus.
26:16 That's a wonderful way to share Jesus, isn't it?
26:19 You know, you too you can share Jesus with others.
26:24 And there's many, many ways
26:26 you can do thing to share Jesus.
26:28 I'd like to hear about them.
26:30 Why not write and tell me what adventures
26:32 you've had in sharing Jesus.
26:34 Now I really love to hear from you.
26:36 Remember, boys and girls,
26:38 it's Kids Time to share Jesus.
