00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so, 00:16 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:26 Hi, boys and girls. 00:27 Do any of you have a baby in your house? 00:29 If you do, you know that babies need 00:31 lots of love and care. 00:33 And they need families and food and hugs 00:35 and blankets and a nice crib to sleep in. 00:38 Well, our story today is about a baby, 00:41 who didn't sleep in a crib 00:42 in fact this baby found himself 00:44 floating on the river Nile, in a little handmade boat. 00:48 Nearby there were crocodiles 00:50 sunning themselves on the shore. 00:51 Kind of like this one right here. 00:54 Oh, can you see his sharp teeth coming down right here? 00:58 Oh, this one looks a little hungry, doesn't he? 01:01 The scales, feel these scales on his body, 01:04 kind of rough right here 01:05 and this tail can do some damage too. 01:08 Not a safe place for a baby to be. 01:11 And the baby in our story had a big sister, 01:14 who stood knee deep in the water 01:16 and peeped around the tall grasses to watch and see 01:20 what would happen to her baby brother. 01:22 But why would a mother leave her baby 01:24 in a boat on the river. 01:26 We'll find out when we listen to our Bible story today. 01:31 God cares about babies, boy babies 01:33 and girl babies and animal babies. 01:36 God cares about big sisters and big brothers 01:38 and grownups too. 01:40 Long ago when God finished creating the world 01:43 He looked around and He saw the people 01:45 that He had made, petting baby dear and playing tag 01:49 with the monkeys and wrapping their arms 01:51 around tigers and kangaroos. 01:53 He saw birds lining on the man's shoulders 01:56 and watched as a baby raccoon 01:58 snuggled into the woman's arm. 02:01 God smiled and said, that's good, 02:04 yes, that's very good. 02:07 You can find God's own words 02:09 in the first book of the Bible. 02:10 The Book of Genesis, the book of beginnings. 02:13 Why not read them for yourself 02:15 right in the first chapter. 02:17 Let me know if you find them. 02:19 Now let's see what Ranger Jim has to show us. 02:31 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim here. 02:34 We have a special treat for you today. 02:36 We're visiting with some friends 02:37 that have some Emu, and we would like to show them-- 02:40 first of all we like to show you an egg 02:42 where the Emu comes from. 02:44 This is rather a large egg is it not, 02:46 and an unusual color. 02:47 It has a very, very thick shell, in fact, 02:51 if we would to stand on this egg 02:52 when it is intact and be careful to do 02:54 so to distribute our weight correctly 02:56 it could support the weight of a man. 02:59 And the Emu lays the egg 03:00 and very unusual in the bird world, 03:05 that we have that the female lays the egg 03:08 and then guess who gets to take care 03:09 of the job of hatching it. 03:11 That's right, daddy bird's called into the picture 03:15 and he gets to sit on the eggs. 03:16 The Emu is a native of Australia 03:18 and it's in their make up, in their genes 03:22 that they will lay eggs at a certain time of year 03:25 and because in that part of the world, 03:28 January and February is when they normally 03:30 would lay their eggs. 03:31 But when we import them and bring them to this country 03:34 January is not a good time to lay eggs 03:37 to hatch their babies and so most folk 03:40 that raise Emus have incubators. 03:42 In fact a friend of mine Debbie that gave me this egg. 03:46 This egg didn't hatch and it's number 12 03:48 in her incubator because she raises baby Emus and she, 03:53 Debbie the favor of taking the inside out 03:55 and packing it so that I could pick it about 03:57 and show boys and girls this huge egg. 04:01 And on this farm they were surprised last January, 04:04 when the male suddenly appeared after being gone 04:08 for about six weeks they didn't see him, 04:10 they didn't see him, they didn't know 04:11 what happen to him at all. 04:12 And suddenly he appeared walking through the snow 04:16 with four baby Emus. 04:18 Because they're, once again the female laid the eggs 04:21 when she was suppose to lay them in January 04:24 and dad faithful to his task 04:26 he went out and sat on the eggs. 04:29 And it is very unusual for people even in an incubator 04:33 to hatch all of the eggs. 04:35 This rarely all, rarely happen 04:38 because the variation in the temperature 04:40 can only be one or two degrees, 04:42 even in a professionally manufactured incubator. 04:46 But this fellow was able to sit on the eggs 04:48 through the cold rain and the cold snow 04:51 and looking at the Emus that you can see here, 04:53 that you see they have a very 04:55 heavy shaggy back their feathers. 04:57 And so they're well adapted to shedding water 05:00 and the snow and things of that nature 05:02 and so that's how he was able to carry out his task. 05:05 Now the Emu is very, very widely distributed now 05:10 in the United States because a number of the years ago 05:12 they thought this would be the next great source 05:14 of flesh foods that Americans would like to eat this. 05:17 Because the Emu flesh is very low in fat content. 05:21 Americans are becoming more and more and more aware 05:24 of the fat that they're eating, 05:26 and so these creators very important to this country 05:28 thinking that they would be commercial grade food 05:31 for human beings to consume. 05:34 And looking out of the Emus now, 05:35 you see the baby is up here and he looks 05:38 a little bit unusual if you've never seen the Emus 05:41 because his feathers are sticking out 05:43 in different directions and he is quite shy. 05:46 But he is the one baby that survived 05:48 and so they're happy to have that one baby that survived. 05:51 I wish the mother bird would be up closer 05:53 and you could hear the sound that she makes. 05:55 She makes a very deep drumming sound 05:59 deep down in the front of her body 06:01 and it's in her breathing apparatus 06:03 and it's something like-- this is not really accurate 06:05 but it's something like when we would swallow our air 06:07 and make this sound it's sort of a boom, boom, boom, 06:10 boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, 06:12 but it has much more resonance to that 06:15 and so that is very unusual to hear that. 06:17 And I was so pleased when we came today 06:19 and they had a female that was calling and talking. 06:22 Now that is a sound that they normally make 06:24 when they're curious, they see something 06:27 they had never seen before or if it's an unusual sound 06:31 they will respond to that. 06:32 Like the lady who owns the Emus was saying 06:34 that she has a three wheeler 06:36 and one day she was trying to start 06:37 that and the motor didn't want to fire exactly right 06:40 so the motor was turning over going. 06:43 And immediately the mother Emu began to respond to that. 06:46 And though the Emu is a very friendly bird, 06:48 they are defensive when they have young around 06:51 but they can even be dangerous to human beings. 06:54 I know that you would never going to a pen 06:55 if you should be visiting someone a neighbor 06:58 or a friend that has Emus 07:00 you would never want to go into that pen unescorted, 07:02 because the Emu has the ability to jump in the air 07:05 and strike out with its feet. 07:06 It has very powerful claws on its toes 07:09 and you might be injured, okay. 07:11 So if you go to someone that has an Emu 07:13 just visit with them and see it 07:15 and learned to enjoy it and perhaps some day 07:18 you could come to this lady's house 07:19 where she has a baby that you can see. 07:22 But anyway, boys and girls, 07:23 as always when we see the creatures 07:25 that God has made for us to see and enjoy 07:28 and learn about. 07:30 We find the story is always true, 07:33 that He does a magnificent job 07:35 if it's an Emu or a mockingbird, 07:38 a salamander or a turtle whatever it might be, 07:41 it barely shouts, I love you, 07:43 I've given you all of these creatures, 07:45 to see and to study and to learn about. 07:48 Because in learning about them you will discover 07:51 that I am truly that loving creator God. 07:55 So Ranger Jim here, boys and girls, 07:57 telling you once again, 07:58 be sure that you tell Jesus that you love Him, 08:01 because He really does love you. 08:11 Hello, boys and girls. 08:13 We need to show the love of Jesus everyday, 08:16 Brittany and Bethany have a text that talks about that. 08:19 "And this gospel of the kingdom 08:22 shall be preached in all the world 08:24 for a witness unto all nations, 08:27 and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14. 08:31 Yes, boys and girls, 08:32 it's time to share the love of Jesus. 08:40 It's time to share there's a world out there, 08:44 looking for a friend like Jesus. 08:47 It's time to share there's a world out there, 08:50 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 08:54 It's time to share there's a world out there, 08:57 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 09:00 It's time to share there's a world out there, 09:03 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 09:07 We love to read His Holy Word. 09:10 He hears us when we pray, 09:13 And sends His Spirit to our lips, 09:16 So we know the words to say. 09:21 It's time to share there's a world out there, 09:24 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 09:27 It's time to share there's a world out there, 09:30 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 09:34 It's time to share there's a world out there, 09:37 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 09:40 It's time to share there's a world out there, 09:43 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 09:46 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 09:49 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 09:58 Boys and girls, Jesus is coming soon. 10:01 We need to tell others about Him. 10:09 Hi, today we're making Peanut Butter yum yums. 10:12 Oh, it sounds delicious. 10:14 Katie, why don't you start reading the recipe? 19:11 You know, sharing time is all about sharing Jesus. 19:14 When you share Jesus with others 19:15 it makes Him very happy doesn't it? 19:18 And I like making Jesus happy. 19:20 I also like it when you write 19:21 and tell me ways you share Jesus. 19:23 This gives other boys and girls ideas 19:25 on how they can witness too. 19:27 You know, there is so many ways 19:29 you can share Jesus, 19:30 it doesn't have to be just telling about Jesus does it. 19:33 Sometimes I think we, we think we're too little that, 19:36 there is nothing we can do to serve Jesus. 19:39 But you know boys and girls there isn't any age 19:41 that is too little to serve Jesus. 19:43 We can witness for Him 19:45 right now you can right there, 19:46 write at whatever age you are. 19:49 Let's go to our mail box to see 19:50 if I have any letters today from you. 19:52 I hope and I could find one. 19:55 You know, I also have a letter to mail today. 19:58 I'm mailing this letter to my grandson 20:00 Michael in Massachusetts. 20:02 And let's see if I have any mail. 20:05 I do have some letters. 20:08 Oh, yes I love getting mail. 20:11 I've got three letters today, 20:13 and I don't want to forget this letter to Michael, 20:15 I want him to know grandma loves him. 20:17 So I put that in there and close it uptight. 20:20 And boys and girls, when you mail a letter 20:21 in a mail box like this one, 20:23 you need to put the flag up right like this 20:26 and that tells the postmen that there is a letter inside 20:29 and then he will stop and get your letter, 20:31 isn't that nice?
