00:01 Hey, Campers. Welcome to "Kitchen Fun."
00:02 Get ready to cook some tasty treats
00:04 with our Eagles team
00:06 and our favorite chef Miss Cinda.
00:09 Julie, what are you looking for?
00:11 I'm trying to find Miss Cinda's
00:12 cinnamon streusel muffin recipe.
00:15 But I can't seem to find it anywhere.
00:18 Actually, all you have to do is go to 3ABNKidsCamp.tv,
00:23 there you can find all of our kid's camp recipes.
00:27 See, here it is, Cinnamon streusel muffins.
00:29 Oh.
00:31 Looks like, first things first is add 1 and 3/4 cups of flour.
00:34 Okay, got it...
00:35 I'll grab the flour.
00:39 Notice how it's said, 1 and 3/4 cups.
00:42 Measurement is always important,
00:43 while you're cooking.
00:45 Does anybody know why it's important?
00:47 Oh, I know, I know.
00:48 Yes, Julie.
00:50 Because measuring things makes you feel smart.
00:54 Okay, nice. I suppose so.
00:56 But it's also important to know
00:57 how much of each ingredient you put in.
01:00 Otherwise, it might not taste great.
01:02 Julie, did you measure that?
01:05 Right, I forgot.
01:07 Let's see what's next?
01:09 Okay, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
01:14 I'm sorry, what?
01:16 Two tablespoons of cornstarch.
01:20 Let me see that, okay.
01:22 No, Julie, that says tablespoons.
01:24 That's what the TBSP stands for.
01:27 Here we go.
01:29 No, no, no, Julie.
01:31 That's not a tablespoon.
01:32 Sure, it is.
01:33 It was right here on the table.
01:41 See, what's next?
01:43 One tablespoon of baking powder and 3/4 cups of sugar.
01:46 Got it. Okay.
01:48 Sugar and baking powder.
01:49 Baking powder...
01:51 Sugar.
01:52 Baking soda, close enough.
01:56 See, there we go
01:58 and now if you just mix it all together.
02:01 Here we go and put it in this pan.
02:04 Oh, okay, but, Julie, there's still ingredients
02:06 that we haven't put in there yet.
02:08 It's fine, dear.
02:10 I already added the sugar.
02:14 There we go.
02:15 Now all you have to do is turn your oven on high
02:18 and wait until you start smelling that cinnamon.
02:23 You mean this cinnamon,
02:25 the one that we haven't put in yet.
02:27 Oh, right.
02:29 Almost forgot.
02:34 You campers have fun,
02:35 making some real cinnamon streusel muffins
02:37 with Miss Cinda, right here on Kitchen Fun.
02:40 Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do.
02:42 Do it all to the glory of God.
02:44 Thanks for tuning in.
02:48 Do you smell something burning?
02:50 Oh, no, my muffins.
03:15 Hello, and welcome to our Kid's Camp, Kitchen Fun.
03:21 You are gonna see
03:23 why we call this program, Kitchen Fun.
03:26 Because who loves to be in the kitchen?
03:29 Me.
03:32 That's two hands for me.
03:36 I love being in the kitchen, it is always fun.
03:41 And, boys and girls, you're going to love
03:44 what we're gonna make today.
03:46 But before, I tell you what we're gonna make today.
03:48 I would like you to meet our helpers today.
03:51 And who are going to be learning right here
03:53 in the studio.
03:55 So, tell me your name and where are you from?
03:58 My name is Christiana and I'm from Michigan.
04:03 Welcome.
04:04 My name is Carter and I'm from Michigan.
04:07 Welcome, Carter.
04:08 My name is Tiffany and I'm from Murfreesboro.
04:11 Welcome.
04:16 My name is Noah and I'm from City Lake, Michigan.
04:19 Welcome.
04:20 My name is Jasmine and I'm from Georgia.
04:25 My name Hannah and I'm from New York.
04:27 Welcome, Hannah.
04:29 My name is Angel and I'm from Portland, Indiana.
04:33 Welcome, Angel.
04:37 My name is Ben and I'm from Illinois.
04:39 Welcome, Ben.
04:41 My name is Abby and I'm from Alamosa, Colorado.
04:44 Welcome, Abby.
04:48 My name is Kate and I'm from Alamosa, Colorado.
04:51 Welcome.
04:53 My name is Cadence and I'm from Berrien Springs.
04:57 Welcome.
04:58 Okay.
05:00 Who's ready to cook?
05:02 Me!
05:05 Oh.
05:06 Hey, let's keep going.
05:08 Boys and girls, are you ready to cook?
05:11 You know what,
05:12 don't worry about trying to write down the recipe
05:15 as I give instructions to the kids.
05:18 Just relax and you can learn and watch how we do it.
05:22 Then you can do go on to
05:25 3ABNKidsCamp.tv
05:31 and you can print off the recipe yourself
05:34 and you'll have it right there at home, okay.
05:36 So you don't have to write in hurry.
05:37 You can just watch
05:39 how we are doing it and enjoy, okay.
05:41 All right, boys and girls, work now.
05:43 We gonna start right away.
05:45 I want you to grab this your, a little bowl, that's empty.
05:50 And then I want you to look on your tray and find,
05:55 there's an empty bowl right there,
05:57 right there, there is your empty bowl,
05:59 Tiffany and Carter.
06:00 Let's move this away and, Tiffany,
06:03 if you move a little closer to Carter,
06:04 'cause you are gonna be a team, okay.
06:07 So I want you to grab your flaxseed,
06:10 this is a little bowl, like this.
06:12 You all have flaxseed
06:14 and I want you to put your flaxseed
06:16 in your empty bowl.
06:18 Christiana, you can put that in our empty bowl.
06:22 Now I want you to get a tablespoon.
06:27 Who can tell me, what is written,
06:30 how do you identify a tablespoon, Abby?
06:35 A tablespoon has 1 and TBSP and yeah.
06:40 Yup, 1 and then it's TBSP.
06:44 So find that and then, who can tell me
06:48 what I'm looking at down here?
06:51 Recipe.
06:53 And it's...
06:54 Why is it important to have a recipe?
06:56 You can all say it.
06:57 Because if we don't have a recipe,
06:59 you gonna mess up.
07:01 Yes, without a recipe you might mess up, right?
07:04 So if you wanted to turn out good.
07:05 Yes, Carter.
07:07 That is a tablespoon, that's perfect.
07:10 Okay, so, you are going to take 6 tablespoons.
07:16 So since you are working in threes,
07:18 I mean in twos,
07:20 you can each do three tablespoons of water,
07:23 put into your flaxseed.
07:26 So find your water and put...
07:29 You each put three tablespoons.
07:35 And the reason why we are doing flaxseed
07:39 is because this recipe is a vegan recipe.
07:44 What's vegan? Anybody?
07:47 You can all say it, if you know it.
07:49 No diary, no cheese, no milk.
07:51 And no eggs.
07:53 You all know diary that covers a bit, no eggs.
07:56 And so, if you...
07:58 Oh, Tiffany, let me help you.
08:00 I wanna show you, boys and girls,
08:02 when you're measuring...
08:03 Come here, come closer.
08:05 When you're measuring,
08:06 instead of just going like this,
08:08 do you see how that's not totally full.
08:10 So you need to tip your bowl and make sure it's level, okay?
08:15 So if you didn't get a quiet a tablespoon,
08:17 so we will put a little bit more in there.
08:19 Boys and girls, can you see that.
08:21 Make sure, did you all...
08:23 Make sure that when you're measuring
08:26 that you don't just go like that
08:28 and kind of get it full.
08:29 Make sure you're right up to the top, okay?
08:32 Your measurements need to be very accurate or it won't work.
08:36 Now, the reason why we're doing this ahead of time
08:40 is because this will gel together,
08:44 and it kind of looks like an egg white,
08:46 kind of the consistency of an egg white.
08:48 This is what will hold all your ingredients together.
08:53 We say bind all your ingredients together.
08:55 That's why we're using that instead of an egg
08:58 and so it's really healthy for you too, okay?
09:02 You have your sixth in there?
09:03 Okay, good job.
09:04 Okay, now just kind of very gently,
09:07 you can either stir it up,
09:09 but probably since this is so full,
09:11 just take your...
09:12 Take your tablespoon and just kind of stir it up
09:14 just a little bit and then set it aside.
09:19 Take your spoon out of it and set it aside, okay?
09:23 I forgot to tell you what we're making today.
09:26 Here is what we're making today.
09:30 This is
09:32 cinnamon streusel cupcakes.
09:38 What do you think?
09:39 They are actually muffins but cinnamon...
09:41 They're kind of the same thing, isn't it?
09:43 So cinnamon streusel, does that look good?
09:47 Yes!
09:48 And guess what?
09:50 Miss Cinda had some made back in our prep kitchen.
09:54 So you all are gonna get to have one.
09:57 It's all good.
09:59 And, boys and girls, you need to make these at home,
10:01 so that you will get to have one, okay?
10:04 Don't those look yummy?
10:07 Okay, all right.
10:08 Now we can get back to our...
10:11 Getting these made.
10:12 Okay, get your big green bowls.
10:16 You gonna need to measure this,
10:18 it's 1 and 3/4 cup of flour.
10:22 So find your flour, find your 1 cup
10:27 and then we didn't have a 3/4's cup.
10:31 So you're going to have to do a 1 half cup
10:36 and a 1/4 cup makes 3/4's.
10:41 So first put in your 1 cup.
10:44 What is it?
10:45 First put in 1 cup of flour.
10:50 And remember when you're measuring.
10:53 Let me show you kids, when you're measuring
10:57 and you can use this to scoop the flour in,
10:59 if you want.
11:01 When you're measuring let me...
11:03 Well, okay, that's good.
11:05 So when you're measuring, make sure you kids, let me...
11:10 Can I have this a minute, Jasmine.
11:11 Make sure kids, see how Jasmine leveled this off.
11:15 So make sure that you level it off,
11:18 then you get a nice level cup, okay?
11:22 And you can use your spatulas.
11:24 Here it, Noah.
11:25 You can use your spatulas
11:27 to help you get the flour in if you want.
11:30 Perfect, Kate.
11:33 Perfect.
11:34 Okay, your 1 cup's in, now the other team member
11:38 put in a 1 1/2 cup.
11:41 Yes, Cadence.
11:42 Can we use this one?
11:43 Yes, that's a 1...
11:45 See, it's a 1 slash 2.
11:49 That's a 1 1/2 cup.
11:51 So put in 1 of these,
11:53 and make sure you have it level.
11:56 Make sure you have it level.
11:58 Did you put in a half cup, Ben?
11:59 Then you can do the fourth cup.
12:02 After you do the half cup, find your fourth cup.
12:05 A 1 slash 4 will be your fourth cup.
12:09 Did you find that, Christiana?
12:11 You had yours done?
12:13 Awesome.
12:14 Here's your fourth cup, that's your half cup.
12:16 Good job.
12:18 Now your fourth cup.
12:20 And let's see what's next.
12:24 Now on your tray, you'll find some quick oats
12:29 that is already measured.
12:31 It's a half a cup of quick oats,
12:32 you just need to dump it in.
12:35 Find your oats
12:37 and you just need to dump it in.
12:38 Okay, pardon.
12:42 All of it, yes.
12:44 Okay, then you're gonna need
12:49 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
12:54 and 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
12:59 So it will be these two white bowls.
13:02 One will be cornstarch.
13:03 What, yes, Abby?
13:07 Is it 2 teaspoons or 2 tablespoons of cornstarch?
13:10 Two tablespoons,
13:11 but it's already measured for you.
13:13 So these you just have to pour in, okay?
13:19 Then you'll need...
13:22 You can add your 3/4's cup of the raw sugar
13:28 and that's already measured for you.
13:29 So you find your raw sugar and add 3/4 of a cup.
13:35 So which is... That's the whole thing.
13:37 So add the whole thing or add all your sugar, okay?
13:41 And then your salt, this is your salt.
13:46 So you'll measure...
13:48 You have to measure your salt.
13:49 Let's take this lid off for you.
13:51 You have to measure your salt,
13:53 you need 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
13:58 Find your 1 1/2 teaspoon.
14:02 Oh, yes...
14:04 Well, that's okay, you can put this one in.
14:08 Put this one in too.
14:09 I just haven't gotten there yet.
14:12 1 1/2 teaspoon.
14:13 The 1 1/2 teaspoon will look
14:15 just like 1 1/2 the sign on the 1 1/2 cup.
14:20 1 and a slanted line and a 2.
14:23 Yes.
14:24 Can you show me which one is the teaspoon?
14:26 Absolutely.
14:28 So see how this has a 1 and a slanted line and a 2.
14:33 Yeah. And a TSP.
14:35 So that's 1 1/2 teaspoon.
14:37 So you need to pour your salt into that
14:41 and don't ever pour...
14:42 Boys and girls, don't ever pour that over your mixing bowl,
14:46 'cause if you happen to get too much salt,
14:50 it's gonna go into your batter, right?
14:53 So don't. Yeah.
14:54 You don't wanna do that.
14:55 Yes, Jasmine.
14:57 I remember the last time,
14:58 when me and dad were making muffins.
14:59 I only put like 3 tablespoons
15:02 of cayenne pepper instead of cinnamon.
15:03 Oh, No!
15:06 But you know what?
15:07 I love spicy stuff.
15:09 So I probably would have still eaten it.
15:11 Those were cookies.
15:12 Oh.
15:13 Well, I would try them.
15:17 I don't know if I would have eaten them, boys and girls.
15:20 Oh, my word.
15:22 Okay, let's see, now add your melted margarine.
15:26 You can go ahead and add...
15:29 You need to measure
15:30 your melted margarine, a 1/2 of a cup.
15:35 A 1/2 a cup.
15:38 Here's your 1/2 a cup, Christiana.
15:41 And you know, it might be easier
15:42 just to pour into your 1/2 cup.
15:45 Might be easier, just to take and pour the margarine
15:49 in your 1/2 cup and that way you have it.
15:53 Okay?
15:55 You can hold your 1/2 cup over the batter
15:58 if you want 'cause it won't matter
15:59 if you have just a touch more.
16:01 Yours...
16:02 Hold, you gotta hold your cup straight.
16:06 There you go.
16:08 Now you can put it in.
16:10 There you go.
16:12 And let's wipe that up for you, Christiana.
16:15 Does anybody need paper towels?
16:17 We gonna wipe that up.
16:18 Oh, everybody needs paper towels.
16:20 Here you go.
16:23 Carter.
16:25 You all have paper... You don't?
16:26 All right.
16:30 Paper towels, Ben.
16:33 Okay.
16:35 Let's see, what else we need for our recipe.
16:37 You'll need to add your...
16:41 See, your 1/8 teaspoon
16:47 of nutmeg, the nutmeg.
16:52 Is there a nutmeg right there?
16:53 Does that say nutmeg?
16:56 Yeah, you'll need a 1/8 and if you only have 1/4 cup,
17:02 I mean a 1/4 teaspoon, you can do it almost full
17:07 and it wouldn't hurt with the spice to do the 1/4.
17:13 Is that nutmeg, does it says nutmeg on it?
17:16 This is ground cinnamon.
17:17 Ground cinnamon?
17:18 Which one did you say nutmeg?
17:20 Oh, let's see.
17:22 You know, they...
17:23 This one.
17:25 We're sharing the nutmeg.
17:26 So we'll pass it around, okay?
17:29 We're sharing it.
17:30 So...
17:31 Here's ours.
17:33 I know, here's our nutmeg and there you go.
17:36 Okay?
17:38 Tell me, you guys, when you get your nutmeg in.
17:43 Use your the 1/4 of a 1 and do it almost full.
17:48 You got yours in? Good job.
17:50 And as soon as...
17:51 Anybody need nutmeg?
17:53 We got it.
17:55 Everybody have their nutmeg?
17:57 Okay.
17:58 Now you're gonna add
18:02 your 3/4 cup of almond milk.
18:05 So add all your almond milk, it's already measured for you.
18:16 And then stir that up.
18:22 Okay, stir it up.
18:27 Good.
18:28 Stir it all up and get it all mixed nice.
18:33 Make sure that when you're stirring it,
18:35 you get all to the bottom,
18:38 because sometimes we miss that,
18:41 and then you have a lot of powder up there
18:44 in the bottom,
18:45 and you need to make sure it mixed into a nice batter,
18:48 and you incorporate all those dry ingredients
18:51 into your batter.
18:55 Like this?
18:56 Very good.
18:58 Oh, you got some of this sauce a more, didn't you, Jasmine?
19:01 You went for it.
19:02 So, boys and girls, when you're stirring,
19:04 make sure your stirring go all the way to the bottom.
19:07 Okay.
19:09 Let's see, Jasmine.
19:10 Hand on the side, so you get the extra batter on the side.
19:13 Very good.
19:15 That's right, you girls are doing awesome.
19:18 How are doing back here?
19:19 We're doing good.
19:22 Just keep doing.
19:24 Okay, take turns stirring, you guys.
19:26 Did you get to the bottom?
19:27 How is yours?
19:30 Good.
19:31 I'm gonna move this down here for you.
19:34 Okay.
19:37 Now add your flaxseed, your ground flaxseed,
19:41 add it to your batter.
19:45 Remember that mixture?
19:47 And look at the mixture, boys and girls.
19:49 Boys and girls, can you see,
19:51 I want you to see the consistency,
19:53 look how thick this is gotten.
19:55 See, I don't know if you can see good
19:58 for the boys and girls at home,
20:01 but it gets a nice thick consistency.
20:06 Kind of looks like an egg white, doesn't it?
20:09 That's what will hold it together.
20:14 You'll need it,
20:15 take your brown sugar a 1/2 a cup,
20:18 of your brown sugar.
20:20 Use your...
20:21 You have another empty bowl,
20:23 take a 1/2 a cup of brown sugar.
20:26 I'm gonna mix this is up for you.
20:28 Find your half a cup of brown sugar,
20:34 right here.
20:37 Let me give you this.
20:38 Add your rest of your margarine to it.
20:42 In fact, just use a little bit of it
20:45 'cause you're almost out of margarine.
20:47 Okay, add the brown sugar, stir it up.
20:52 Yes, put your brown sugar in there
20:55 and add your margarine.
20:57 And then you gonna add
20:58 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.
21:03 Can we put with the brown sugar?
21:05 You put your margarine with the brown sugar,
21:08 all this margarine that's left over,
21:10 put it in your brown sugar, in this bowl.
21:13 And add a tablespoon of cinnamon.
21:17 You don't have...
21:19 Miss Cynthia, can you bring us a 1/2 a cup of brown sugar
21:24 for this team right here?
21:28 You guys have it, and you got margarine,
21:30 and you have yours.
21:32 You add your tablespoon.
21:35 We're happy,
21:36 we have Miss Cynthia to help us, aren't we?
21:39 Yes.
21:40 How many spoons, one teaspoon?
21:41 One tablespoon.
21:43 Mix it in with your cinnamon, I mean cinnamon...
21:47 Mix it in with your brown sugar.
21:50 And then now you gonna take.
21:54 Miss Cynthia, we also need some tea...
21:58 Well, you know what, we can take...
21:59 We can use our half cups.
22:01 Okay, now you're gonna take.
22:06 No, you just stir this up really good.
22:08 Now, stir it up really good.
22:10 Stir your mixture up really good.
22:12 Now you gonna take
22:13 and we're gonna fill our muffin tins.
22:19 Miss Cynthia, if you wanna come help one of the teams
22:23 get their muffin tins filled.
22:26 And let me get another muffin paper.
22:32 Oh you have... Did you add...
22:34 You have a little bit of sugar in there.
22:36 Okay, now I want you to put
22:39 just a little bit of...
22:43 What you gonna do
22:45 is you gonna put a little bit of batter
22:46 in the bottom of your muffin tin
22:49 and let's use a...
22:51 Let's use one of their cups.
22:54 Well, you're gonna...
22:56 You can use this cup to fill your muffins.
22:58 Yes, ma'am.
23:00 What is the almond extract for?
23:03 You know what? Let me look.
23:04 That's a good question, Jasmine.
23:07 The almond extract is,
23:12 you know, oh, good thing you said that.
23:16 Everybody put in 1/2 a teaspoon
23:18 of almond extract
23:22 to your batter.
23:26 Your muffin batter.
23:29 Yes, 1/2 a teaspoon.
23:33 What's the brown stuff for?
23:36 To your main muffin batter,
23:38 put in 1/2 a teaspoon of almond extract.
23:41 What's this for?
23:43 Oh, that's gonna be our filling.
23:46 Okay, there's your almond extract
23:48 and stir that in.
23:52 Uh-huh?
23:55 Stir it into this.
24:01 And, now I want you to put in a little...
24:06 Let me...
24:08 Can everybody see if I do it on this one?
24:11 Yeah. Okay.
24:12 Can you all see?
24:13 Okay.
24:16 You got it all stirred up?
24:18 Good job.
24:20 Let me show the kids what to do here
24:22 and that way you can watch too.
24:24 Okay, we'll put this down.
24:26 Okay.
24:27 You can get a little cup if you want.
24:29 You come back up here, Kate.
24:31 Get a little cup, you're just gonna put.
24:33 You can come around here, if you want.
24:35 But you're gonna just put a little,
24:37 little bit of in the bottom.
24:40 Maybe, Tiffany, if you stand right over there,
24:42 so our kids and our viewers can watch.
24:47 Put just a little bit in the bottom,
24:50 then you're going to put a spoon full of this on top,
24:56 on top just a 1/2, like a 1/2 spoon on top.
25:01 Can you boys and girls see this,
25:03 we're gonna put 1/2 a teaspoon on top
25:05 and then you're gonna add
25:07 some more batter up to,
25:12 just below the edge, okay?
25:16 All right, you have that?
25:17 Yes.
25:18 All right.
25:20 Boys and girls, did you understand that.
25:22 I can do it one more time for you,
25:24 okay, 'cause may be you can get a better camera angle
25:28 at this and you can see it better.
25:30 So we're gonna take a little bit of our batter
25:35 and we're gonna put it in the bottom
25:38 and, Christiana, if you can take
25:41 and put a little bit.
25:43 In fact, you can use...
25:44 You can use that one
25:46 and put a little bit or may be this one,
25:47 just put a little bit in the middle of that.
25:50 And I'll put some here.
25:55 And then, so after you put a little bit in there,
25:58 then you're going to put this on top, okay?
26:05 And we're almost out of time, boys and girls.
26:10 So I'm not gonna be able to show you,
26:11 how to make the crumbly streusel topping.
26:14 But for the crumbly streusel topping
26:18 we're going to mix sugar and flour and oats
26:24 and chopped pecans,
26:26 and then we're gonna sprinkle that
26:28 over the top, boy and girls.
26:30 And let me show you again, what it's gonna looks like.
26:34 We're gonna sprinkle this over the top, look at that.
26:40 So keep working on your muffins
26:42 and then I'm gonna let you taste
26:43 one of these, okay?
26:45 So...
26:46 In fact, let me come around and just give you each one.
26:50 Take a muffin and you each can try it.
26:53 Here, Tiffany.
26:57 These are really fancy muffins, aren't they?
27:00 You are gonna even get a surprise in the middle.
27:04 And that's cinnamon sugar mixture
27:06 you are making.
27:08 Here you go, take a muffin.
27:11 Here you go, Angel.
27:14 All right.
27:17 What, Abby?
27:18 My grandma makes these types
27:20 of cakes and muffins all the time, so.
27:22 Do you love them?
27:24 Yes, here, Ben.
27:26 Very good.
27:28 Who's had fun in the kitchen today?
27:30 Me!
27:34 You know what?
27:35 I had fun and I love having you all here
27:38 to help me in the kitchen.
27:40 You all can taste your muffins, if you'd like.
27:43 And, boys and girls, I hope that you try this recipe,
27:48 because you're gonna love it.
27:50 And remember, boys and girls,
27:52 anytime you can be in the kitchen, it's fun.
27:57 Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do.
28:00 Do it all to the glory of God.
