who was made a governor

in the kingdom of Persia.

The King's name was Darius.

What was his name everyone?

Darius. Remember that.

It was Darius and he made
Daniel one of three governors.

Now the governors
had to be over 120,

that's a large
group, 120 satraps.

They were like officers
in the province of Persia.

And Daniel was in
charge of them all.

And the satraps,
they looked at Daniel,

and they were very jealous.

Oh, they were so
jealous because Daniel...

They knew his history,
they knew he was a Hebrew boy

once upon a time,

and they were not
happy that he was in charge.

And so the satraps, a
couple of them got together,

and they said, "Listen,

we got to get
this Governor Daniel

in big trouble.

What are we going to do?

And they thought about it,

they looked up
information about him.

They asked people questions
about Daniel, "Come here.

But then they discovered

one of them had an idea.

And so they looked at Daniel,

And they discovered that Daniel
prayed not once, not twice,

Three. Three times a day.

And they said
"Daniel prays to his God.

We got it.

king and propose a law."

So they huddled together,

and they came up with this plan.

And so the next day
they went to the king,

and they said,
"King, live forever.

We have a law that
we want you to sign."

And they said, "This law
says that if anybody prays

to anything or
anyone other than you,

O King, they will be
thrown into a lion's den.

And this will be
for 30 long days."

And the king said,
"Sounds good to me."

So he signed that
law, and it was in place.

And so the satraps now went
and they hid behind the bushes

at Daniel's place and
they looked at his window
00:05:25.49\00:05:28.39
to see if they would
catch Daniel praying.

And sure enough, guess what,
Daniel's custom was to pray

with the window wide open
00:05:35.73\00:05:37.07
'cause he loves
to look up at the sky
00:05:37.10\00:05:39.10
and pray to his
Father in heaven.

So Daniel prayed
as his custom was.

And he opened those
windows and the satraps saw him.

They saw him.

They said "There he is,
praying to God, his God.

He's in trouble.

He's breaking the law."

And so they ran to the
king and they reported Daniel,

and right away guards
came and arrested Daniel

and the law had to be kept,

couldn't change the law.

And so they took Daniel,

and the consequence was
being thrown into a lion's den.

is nothing short of a miracle.

But then he heard a voice.

able to show the king
