was the very first ministry

that we started out in,

way back in 2005 when
we launched out in faith

working at a college,

and we felt a call
to go into ministry,

and the Lord started developing
the Bible worker program.

He led you to a book all about

the effectiveness and the power

of the local
Bible workers in India.

- Right. - It just
really inspired us.

And so, that was the very
beginning of our ministry.

In fact, it was
called Jesus for India

for the first couple years.

- Right, so the local missionary

is more effective in many
ways than a foreign missionary,

and they know the language.

They don't have to
have transportation,

travel, air
travel, train travel,

anything to get to
where they're working.

- Yep. - Many
times, they grew up

in the area where
they're actually working.

They don't have to cross
languages, none of those things,

so their job is just to take
the Gospel to their own people.

- And many of these Bible
workers are already doing it.

A little stipend every month
allows them to do it full time,

and to focus on it.

And in the beginning,

we had decided to have
one project in our ministry.

And that was the
Bible worker in India.

And the Lord changed
that plan after a year or two.

But at the
beginning, even up until now,

the Bible worker
is really the backbone

and the core
ministry of Jesus for Asia.

Why?

Because they can reach
places that I could never reach.

I mean, there is a
partnership though.

It's not that the
local missionary takes

the place of the
foreign missionary,

because there's places that
there are no local believers.

There's
countries and people groups

where there is no believer

that can take the Gospel
to their fellow countrymen.

And so in those cases, you need
cross-cultural missionaries.

Also, in the case of India,

there's a really
great symbiotic relationship

supportive relationship

between when we go over there,

more Bibles over.

There's a beautiful
relationship that happens

that it's like
not one or the other.

It's both working
together towards a common goal.

the roles are a little bit
different in different places.

there's a large workforce
that are strong believers

This time, Brother Devanbu,

I had the idea,
when I had about Jesus,

everything very clearly.

And also, he gave me
the study on fallen angels.

He made it very clear

but all are fallen angel,
all are followers of Lucifer.

very clearly, Jesus is the Lord.

So, I thought,

who can stand in
between God and the nation?"

So, I decided
to do the ministry.

Even before joining JFA,

I started my
ministry along with others.

After that, the call
came from the region director.

Pastor Sundernayagam
called me and told me to JFA.

First, I hesitated a little bit.

"How am I going
to do this ministry?"

Somehow I could
understand the will God.

Then I surrendered
myself in the hands of the Lord.

- That's an amazing
testimony that his father died

even though he was
worshiping all those gods,

that he got angry, and
decided there was no God.

And then all
the Bible worker did

was explain to
him how that worked,

no demonstration,
no healing, nothing.

But he believed it,
and he became a believer.

- Yeah, that's powerful

And how he heard the
voice of God asking him

to be a Bible worker.

- Yes, and it's
so beautiful to see

how he blends in
with the local culture,

kneeling on the cement
floor with bare block walls.

How many of us would
feel comfortable doing that?

And how long would it
take for someone like me

to learn the
language and the culture?

I still wouldn't
be able to blend in,

because of my skin color.

And so, my ability to
support someone like him

that can do that,

that doesn't relieve
me of my responsibility

of bringing people to Christ.

But it extends my ability.

- One thing that I
was impressed by is

that he started
doing ministry on his own

before the region director
asked him to be a Bible worker.

It's just really...

Really, it shows how,

when Jesus gets into your heart,

you want to
share it with people.

And so, you start sharing.

And I think many
times we, here in the West,

get a little bit timid to share,

and maybe we need to seek
God some more like they do,

and learn how to
be a little less timid

for the sake of the Gospel.

- But this is the
beauty of these Bible workers,

is that they would share anyway.

And a lot of them do.

And this just
enables them to share more.

So, it's really neat
to see the dedication.

Like I said, they inspire us.

I met a man once that
prayed like that all night long.

He started praying like that

The next morning, I
