Years ago, the missionaries
could stay in Thailand

God's call to set up

some kind of legal

we could hold property,

and we could manage it
with a lot more security.

took over a year to get going,

but by the time it
actually was approved

and started functioning, the
laws had changed in Thailand.

So now all our missionaries
would have to leave Thailand

so it's almost like God
knew what was gonna happen.

And so we needed a
family that could be there,

things were flowing well, and

And so we established this
foundation, I am the director.

We were very fortunate to
have a family that we knew here

in America that had
decided to go to Thailand.

And they were there
working with that team

when the foundation was set up,

and they became an integral
part of the establishment

and running of that foundation.

- So we met Daniel
and Tesha Bair in 2009.

And at that point,
they had no children.

- The Lord started to grow
upon them a burden for Thailand.

- Yes, they came to faith camp,
and they just saw the needs,

and saw the opportunity,

and decided that they
were gonna give up everything

and go over to Thailand.

doing their fundraising.

They had a fundraising
goal, and when they got halfway.

had provided that much,

parents are getting older.

They've got some things,

some health issues
that they need to deal with.

the signs of the need legally

weren't for the call

And they're not
able to come here,

said, "Why don't they do that?"

My mother's asthma is such
that she can't function well

So on that part, it was like,

People were trying

to discourage us of the risk.

"Oh, taking kids in the
mission field is a risk."

I think Jonah
felt that there was

some risk in going to Nineveh,

and his problems
were greater in not going
00:06:38.79\00:06:41.43
where God asked him to go.

- If you have a call from
God to go to the mission field,

you're more likely to lose
your kid's faith by not going
00:06:46.40\00:06:49.47
and disobeying God.

But the spiritual
health and mental health,

don't ignore that.

And if you need to back
off a little bit on ministry

in order to take
care of the kids, do it.

The little bit that you
do in missions will not make

a difference.

Maybe I'm saying
that too strongly,

but I think from my experience,
it won't make a difference.

It won't make an impact if your
kids are struggling at home.

need to prioritize your family

in taking care of them,
making sure their needs are met.

But giving the kids a
vision for helping others

the child is wearing that day.

- Biggest blessing has
been, by far, learning that God,

God is our provider,
and He doesn't even need us.

and the angels do this work,

that was fulfilling a role,

it a lot more than I had

because he knew about
the transition before I did.

and sensed that the

So they had been in
Thailand for quite some time.

planning to stay long-term,
