(dramatic music) 00:00:00.96\00:00:03.77 - Hello and welcome to "Jesus for Asia Now." 00:00:21.75\00:00:24.19 I'm Natalie Wood and my husband, John, 00:00:24.19\00:00:25.89 is joining me today 00:00:25.89\00:00:26.96 as we talk about the country of Timor-Leste. 00:00:26.96\00:00:30.26 We have a special guest with us, 00:00:30.26\00:00:31.93 our pastor, Pastor Chris Anderson. 00:00:31.93\00:00:34.56 Hello Pastor Chris, welcome to the show. 00:00:34.56\00:00:36.33 - Hey, good afternoon. 00:00:36.33\00:00:37.53 (chuckles) 00:00:37.53\00:00:38.50 - It's good to have you here. 00:00:38.50\00:00:39.47 - Thanks, it's great to be here. 00:00:39.47\00:00:41.00 - And we've got some exciting things to talk about today, 00:00:41.00\00:00:43.61 and so it's gonna be good. 00:00:43.61\00:00:45.77 - Yeah, God's really moved in your life 00:00:45.77\00:00:47.61 and it's amazing what we see happening there. 00:00:47.61\00:00:50.11 - Yeah. 00:00:50.11\00:00:51.41 Well first of all, I know the two of you 00:00:51.41\00:00:53.25 went to Timor-Leste, 00:00:53.25\00:00:54.28 and how did we end up with something 00:00:55.52\00:00:57.52 going on in Timor-Leste? 00:00:57.52\00:00:59.09 - So in January of 2019, the Southern Asia Pacific Division, 00:00:59.09\00:01:03.53 was having a missions conference in Bali. 00:01:03.53\00:01:07.20 And they were inviting all the supporting ministries, 00:01:07.20\00:01:09.76 so that the church and the supporting ministries 00:01:09.76\00:01:11.77 could work together more efficiently, 00:01:11.77\00:01:13.44 and get to know each other better. 00:01:13.44\00:01:15.40 And I was invited to go, I didn't really wanna go. 00:01:15.40\00:01:18.97 I didn't really wanna go to Bali, 00:01:18.97\00:01:20.28 I heard it was just a vacation spot. 00:01:20.28\00:01:22.08 I'm not really interested in vacation spots 00:01:22.08\00:01:24.15 but I felt that I should to learn, 00:01:24.15\00:01:26.61 make connections and meet people. 00:01:26.61\00:01:29.12 So I flew down there, 00:01:29.12\00:01:30.25 it was supposed to be a four day conference. 00:01:30.25\00:01:31.82 And while I was there, 00:01:31.82\00:01:32.92 I met the president of the Timor-Leste mission. 00:01:32.92\00:01:36.39 Now I had known about Timor-Leste from before, 00:01:36.39\00:01:39.03 because my good friend, Pastor Douglas Venn, 00:01:39.03\00:01:41.73 who we shot, "I Want the City" with, 00:01:41.73\00:01:43.67 had gone there after I had left Bangkok 00:01:43.67\00:01:46.27 and told me about it. 00:01:46.27\00:01:48.27 And so when I met Pastor House there, 00:01:48.27\00:01:50.81 we started talking, and Tim Maddocks was there, 00:01:50.81\00:01:53.07 he was the one that kind of initiated the conversation. 00:01:53.07\00:01:55.58 And we learned more about Timor-Leste, 00:01:55.58\00:01:57.71 how the church was just starting out, 00:01:57.71\00:01:59.61 just, you know, recently starting to grow, 00:01:59.61\00:02:02.32 and how they had never had a camp meeting 00:02:02.32\00:02:05.09 in the entire country, in its entire history. 00:02:05.09\00:02:07.92 And we're like, we could do a Faith Camp. 00:02:07.92\00:02:10.79 And Tim Maddocks is like, yeah, you could do a Faith Camp. 00:02:10.79\00:02:13.70 And so we're like, okay, let's organize it. 00:02:13.70\00:02:16.53 And thankfully, over the course of the last few years 00:02:16.53\00:02:20.10 in Faith Camp, the Lord has blessed, 00:02:20.10\00:02:22.40 and we had a little extra funds 00:02:22.40\00:02:24.54 that we could reach out to do a Faith Camp 00:02:24.54\00:02:27.68 in an area that obviously wasn't gonna do a return, 00:02:27.68\00:02:31.18 a financial return on the Faith Camp, 00:02:31.18\00:02:33.28 but, and it was very expensive, 00:02:33.28\00:02:35.15 but we were like, you know what, 00:02:35.15\00:02:36.82 how often do you get a chance to plant seeds? 00:02:37.95\00:02:40.22 How often do you get a chance to enter 00:02:40.22\00:02:42.36 into the growth of an entire country's church? 00:02:42.36\00:02:46.36 - Right, encourage a newer church. 00:02:46.36\00:02:49.43 - Yeah and so we planned it for September, 00:02:49.43\00:02:51.87 we had Tim Maddocks come down, 00:02:51.87\00:02:53.74 Daniel and Laura Drea, came down and joined us. 00:02:53.74\00:02:56.91 And then I was looking at the lineup and I'm like, 00:02:56.91\00:02:59.14 you know what, I really need somebody that's gonna have 00:02:59.14\00:03:01.04 some solid Bible truth. 00:03:01.04\00:03:03.88 Mostly Faith Camp is about outreach and missions. 00:03:03.88\00:03:07.58 Whereas with some of these countries, 00:03:07.58\00:03:10.19 you also need to teach in the Bible truth. 00:03:10.19\00:03:12.99 - They need church growth and revival or encouragement. 00:03:12.99\00:03:17.43 - Exactly and we he had joined recently a new church plant 00:03:17.43\00:03:21.70 here in the Chattanooga area called South Bay. 00:03:21.70\00:03:25.13 - Right. 00:03:25.13\00:03:26.27 - I was praying about who should go with us, 00:03:26.27\00:03:27.74 who we should bring with us, 00:03:27.74\00:03:28.87 to kind of round out the whole presenters 00:03:28.87\00:03:31.11 and I thought about the pastor and our new church plant, 00:03:31.11\00:03:34.74 in South Bay, Pastor Chris. 00:03:34.74\00:03:37.21 He's got a unique story, 00:03:37.21\00:03:38.91 he worked in construction for many years, 00:03:38.91\00:03:41.35 and then went back to get a theology degree, 00:03:41.35\00:03:45.05 because God was calling him into the ministry. 00:03:45.05\00:03:48.62 And they had, as a family had been to Africa in the past. 00:03:48.62\00:03:52.33 And I don't know if you like me telling your story. 00:03:52.33\00:03:55.16 (laughter) 00:03:55.16\00:03:56.13 So I called you and says, 00:03:56.13\00:03:58.47 would you be interested and going to Timor-Leste? 00:03:58.47\00:04:01.07 Do you remember that conversation. 00:04:01.07\00:04:02.84 - Yeah, so I got a call from you about this, 00:04:02.84\00:04:04.27 Chris would you be open to it? 00:04:04.27\00:04:05.54 And I love overseas, I love missions, 00:04:05.54\00:04:08.08 my family and I, we served in Africa 00:04:08.08\00:04:09.64 for a little while in Zambia, 00:04:09.64\00:04:11.28 traveled extensively over Africa. 00:04:11.28\00:04:13.38 The challenge was, I just had a lot on my plate, 00:04:13.38\00:04:15.48 I was very busy, 00:04:15.48\00:04:16.55 and I took some time to just think about it. 00:04:16.55\00:04:17.65 But as I'm open to exploring the idea, 00:04:17.65\00:04:19.45 so we pursued it further 00:04:19.45\00:04:20.92 and I pursued it with my conference, 00:04:20.92\00:04:22.46 they gave me permission to go. 00:04:22.46\00:04:24.76 And so all the pieces came together. 00:04:24.76\00:04:26.83 It was just exciting, the opportunity to share 00:04:26.83\00:04:30.13 at the very first Faith Camp meeting in Timor-Leste, 00:04:30.13\00:04:33.74 I mean, it's just what a need opportunity. 00:04:33.74\00:04:35.40 - Right. 00:04:35.40\00:04:36.24 So where is Timor-Leste? 00:04:36.24\00:04:38.17 - So Timor-Leste is over in the Pacific. 00:04:38.17\00:04:40.04 It's right above Australia, kinda center straight above, 00:04:40.04\00:04:42.81 and you've got this chain of islands of Indonesia, 00:04:42.81\00:04:45.05 comes down at the very last island is split in half, 00:04:45.05\00:04:48.55 and the Eastern side is Timor-Leste. 00:04:48.55\00:04:50.25 So it's just right over there, 00:04:50.25\00:04:51.92 as far in the world, as you can go, 00:04:51.92\00:04:54.42 it's like one of the most remote places 00:04:54.42\00:04:56.09 on the planet, you know. 00:04:56.09\00:04:57.16 (laughter) 00:04:57.16\00:04:58.66 It's tough to get there. 00:04:58.66\00:04:59.49 - Yeah. 00:04:59.49\00:05:00.36 What did it take to get there? 00:05:00.36\00:05:01.00 I mean, what was. 00:05:01.00\00:05:02.10 - Yeah, so like, days and days of flying. 00:05:02.10\00:05:03.13 I mean, I was exhausted, you know. 00:05:03.13\00:05:04.23 So I flew over to the middle east, 00:05:04.23\00:05:05.33 and then I flew over to Indonesia, 00:05:05.33\00:05:06.70 and then I flew this little tiny plane over into Dili. 00:05:06.70\00:05:11.94 And when we were landing, 00:05:11.94\00:05:12.91 I was wondering about the pilot 00:05:12.91\00:05:14.51 because he circled around the airport there in Dili, 00:05:14.51\00:05:18.48 and then he came down and all I could see was water, 00:05:18.48\00:05:21.28 because the runway is kind of crooked 00:05:21.28\00:05:22.68 and it's right beside the ocean. 00:05:22.68\00:05:24.39 And we just kept getting lower and lower 00:05:24.39\00:05:25.75 and lower to the water, 00:05:25.75\00:05:26.86 and I thought men this is a suicide pilot. 00:05:26.86\00:05:27.52 You know, I had no idea, 00:05:27.52\00:05:28.82 we just kept getting lower and lower and lower. 00:05:28.82\00:05:30.16 And I was just, Lord, my life is in your hands you know? 00:05:30.16\00:05:34.03 And we hit the runway, as soon as he hit the runway, 00:05:34.03\00:05:36.33 then I saw the land, I'm like, okay we're okay. 00:05:36.33\00:05:39.37 It was just an interesting experience landing there. 00:05:39.37\00:05:41.10 - Trying to remember if there were floats on plane 00:05:41.10\00:05:42.70 got it in. 00:05:42.70\00:05:43.51 - But it's beautiful island, 00:05:43.51\00:05:45.17 I mean it's just really mountainous, 00:05:45.17\00:05:46.57 these jugged mountains just jutting up out of the ocean 00:05:46.57\00:05:48.81 and goes right down into the ocean. 00:05:48.81\00:05:50.58 - Yeah, so this picture is of Dili. 00:05:50.58\00:05:53.62 This is where we landed, 00:05:53.62\00:05:55.12 and you can see that the mountains are very dry actually. 00:05:55.12\00:05:58.55 - So it's pretty dry, yeah, for sure, 00:05:58.55\00:06:00.06 and particularly on this side, 00:06:00.06\00:06:01.46 and Dili's just this large flat space 00:06:01.46\00:06:03.99 with kind of a dry river bed that comes out through it 00:06:03.99\00:06:06.43 until they get rain, 00:06:06.43\00:06:07.50 and then it really floods the whole area. 00:06:07.50\00:06:09.40 - Yeah, I bet. 00:06:09.40\00:06:10.60 So what's the history of Timor-Leste? 00:06:10.60\00:06:12.37 - So Timor-Leste has an interesting history, 00:06:12.37\00:06:13.87 they were a Portuguese colony for like 400 years. 00:06:13.87\00:06:17.14 And sandalwood and some other spices 00:06:17.14\00:06:19.27 and things I guess, is from what I understand 00:06:19.27\00:06:20.71 was some of their main exports. 00:06:20.71\00:06:22.51 And then in 1975, they gained their independence 00:06:22.51\00:06:26.92 and that was short-lived. 00:06:26.92\00:06:28.72 Nine days later, Indonesia came in, 00:06:28.72\00:06:31.09 with their military and the war ships, 00:06:31.09\00:06:32.42 and took over the island. 00:06:32.42\00:06:33.82 About a quarter of the population was killed, 00:06:33.82\00:06:35.79 brutally killed and held under the Indonesian regime 00:06:35.79\00:06:39.29 for well over 25 years or so. 00:06:39.29\00:06:43.67 And then in 2002, the United Nations 00:06:43.67\00:06:47.10 brokered some sort of a deal with Indonesia 00:06:47.10\00:06:49.54 and they were able to gain their independence. 00:06:49.54\00:06:51.27 So in 2002, they were the very first new country 00:06:51.27\00:06:54.51 in the 21st century. 00:06:54.51\00:06:56.18 And so they were pretty excited about that obviously, 00:06:56.18\00:06:59.71 but they're a new country, they're only about 19 years old. 00:06:59.71\00:07:02.38 The Adventist church kind of began then 00:07:02.38\00:07:04.32 and so the Adventist church is still brand new there. 00:07:04.32\00:07:06.19 It's still a small, small church presence. 00:07:06.19\00:07:08.69 - Okay, what's the major religion 00:07:08.69\00:07:10.36 that's there in that island? 00:07:10.36\00:07:11.96 - So being a Portuguese colony it's 98, 99% Catholic. 00:07:11.96\00:07:15.90 - Okay, so how's the church growing? 00:07:15.90\00:07:17.70 How it it doing? 00:07:17.70\00:07:18.73 What's the main challenge that it has? 00:07:18.73\00:07:20.87 - So the church has grown dramatically. 00:07:20.87\00:07:22.70 I mean there's been a lot of evangelism 00:07:22.70\00:07:24.07 that's happened throughout the island 00:07:24.07\00:07:25.47 and people are just excited about the Adventist message. 00:07:25.47\00:07:28.41 And so there's two official churches there. 00:07:28.41\00:07:31.81 They had the second official church 00:07:31.81\00:07:33.45 that was just inaugurated this last December. 00:07:33.45\00:07:35.92 So, and then there's five or six companies 00:07:35.92\00:07:38.89 scattered throughout the island. 00:07:38.89\00:07:40.52 There's about 600 church members that are there, 00:07:40.52\00:07:43.66 and pastor House, the previous president there 00:07:43.66\00:07:46.19 has just done an amazing job 00:07:46.19\00:07:47.13 helping to strengthen the church. 00:07:47.13\00:07:48.46 And there's been a school that's been established there, 00:07:48.46\00:07:51.10 it's called TAIS, Timor Adventist International School. 00:07:51.10\00:07:55.87 And while the official language 00:07:55.87\00:07:57.01 of the country is not English, 00:07:57.01\00:07:58.07 the school is taught English 00:07:58.07\00:07:59.44 because many people would like to have their kids 00:07:59.44\00:08:01.91 learn the English language. 00:08:01.91\00:08:03.91 And so the school is highly sought after, 00:08:03.91\00:08:05.48 many, many people from the community 00:08:05.48\00:08:07.48 are sending the kids there. 00:08:07.48\00:08:08.68 It had explosion of growth. 00:08:08.68\00:08:10.69 And this has been a primary entering wedge 00:08:10.69\00:08:12.79 really into the country, having this school that's there. 00:08:12.79\00:08:17.26 - So that school when we were there, 00:08:17.26\00:08:18.93 we've got some pictures of the school, 00:08:18.93\00:08:20.73 it looks like they were meeting out on the porches. 00:08:20.73\00:08:22.90 - So they have an interesting school location. 00:08:22.90\00:08:25.30 They search for six or seven years 00:08:25.30\00:08:26.97 to find a piece of property. 00:08:26.97\00:08:28.07 It's very difficult because all the titles 00:08:28.07\00:08:30.01 are in either Portuguese or they're Indonesian 00:08:30.01\00:08:32.84 or somewhere in between. 00:08:32.84\00:08:34.51 - In titles to land. 00:08:34.51\00:08:35.34 - Titles to the land. 00:08:35.34\00:08:36.75 So it's hard to find a piece of land that has clear deed. 00:08:36.75\00:08:39.15 And so they worked for a long of time 00:08:39.15\00:08:40.28 and finally God led them to this piece. 00:08:40.28\00:08:41.65 It's just a beautiful piece 00:08:41.65\00:08:43.59 and kind of in the middle of the town there. 00:08:43.59\00:08:45.25 And so when we were there, 00:08:45.25\00:08:46.82 they had the schools kind of in the verandas 00:08:46.82\00:08:48.62 of the large house that was on this property. 00:08:48.62\00:08:51.03 And so interestingly enough, 00:08:51.03\00:08:52.26 the 13th sabbath offering of this quarter, 00:08:52.26\00:08:54.63 the first quarter of 2022 is going to help 00:08:54.63\00:08:57.53 build a permanent school there at that location. 00:08:57.53\00:08:59.63 - Oh nice. 00:08:59.63\00:09:00.50 - Very nice. 00:09:00.50\00:09:01.87 - So we were staying in some permanent structures 00:09:01.87\00:09:02.97 and that's where our camp meeting was, 00:09:02.97\00:09:04.37 is in one of the temporary structures of the school. 00:09:04.37\00:09:05.97 - Excellent. 00:09:05.97\00:09:07.08 - So this is one of the structures, 00:09:07.08\00:09:07.88 this is actually the structure 00:09:07.88\00:09:08.68 that we had the Faith Camp in. 00:09:08.68\00:09:10.75 We had the roof on, 00:09:10.75\00:09:11.75 I think they worked really hard 00:09:11.75\00:09:13.21 to get the the cement pod and the roof put on. 00:09:13.21\00:09:16.08 So they were just starting to build 00:09:16.08\00:09:18.12 this structure at the time. 00:09:18.12\00:09:19.49 And this is where we had the whole weekend, 00:09:19.49\00:09:21.39 we started Wednesday evening at seven 00:09:21.39\00:09:23.53 and finished Sunday morning around noon 00:09:23.53\00:09:25.96 and did the whole thing here, 00:09:25.96\00:09:27.40 and I had a lot of people joining us. 00:09:27.40\00:09:29.80 This was the front of the church, 00:09:29.80\00:09:31.40 this was pastor Ray House on the left 00:09:31.40\00:09:34.27 and he was the one that invited us here 00:09:34.27\00:09:36.47 and kind of officiated throughout the whole meetings. 00:09:36.47\00:09:38.84 - So pastor House had done a lot of work, 00:09:38.84\00:09:40.11 getting things ready, 00:09:40.11\00:09:41.14 and he's well loved by the people. 00:09:41.14\00:09:43.24 I mean, he's spent a lot of time with him 00:09:43.24\00:09:44.71 and really has put his heart energy into this work. 00:09:44.71\00:09:46.78 - That's awesome. 00:09:46.78\00:09:47.98 So this is kind of the group 00:09:47.98\00:09:49.32 with the speakers, the presenters, 00:09:49.32\00:09:51.29 as well as some of the local teachers for that school. 00:09:51.29\00:09:55.76 And then this is how the people lived there. 00:09:55.76\00:09:58.19 - Camp meeting. 00:09:58.19\00:09:59.66 (chuckles) 00:09:59.66\00:10:00.96 - People had come from all over the island, didn't they? 00:10:00.96\00:10:02.26 - They had, they had come from the far reaches 00:10:02.26\00:10:04.53 of the island to camp meeting. 00:10:04.53\00:10:05.83 They were really excited. 00:10:05.83\00:10:06.94 And they had come in trucks 00:10:06.94\00:10:08.27 and in the back beds of large trucks and everything, 00:10:08.27\00:10:10.37 they come many different ways to come to this. 00:10:10.37\00:10:12.37 - That's awesome. 00:10:12.37\00:10:13.48 - So the man in this picture here 00:10:13.48\00:10:14.91 is a one of the global mission pioneers 00:10:14.91\00:10:17.01 that's working on an island off of Timor-Leste. 00:10:17.01\00:10:20.58 So they have a large island called Arturo, 00:10:20.58\00:10:22.42 and he is one of the workers over there planting, 00:10:22.42\00:10:25.72 doing church planting over in that island. 00:10:25.72\00:10:27.66 - Wow, awesome. 00:10:27.66\00:10:28.99 - All right, so we started, 00:10:28.99\00:10:30.09 it was a Wednesday night, 7:00 p.m. 00:10:30.09\00:10:32.59 - That evening, it was just so nice. 00:10:32.59\00:10:34.20 I mean everyone was excited 00:10:34.20\00:10:35.50 and the singing it was beautiful. 00:10:35.50\00:10:36.90 - It was awesome. 00:10:36.90\00:10:38.00 And then during the daytime, 00:10:38.00\00:10:39.93 people would just hang out between meetings 00:10:39.93\00:10:42.00 and get in family groups and play and seeing, 00:10:42.00\00:10:44.21 and you went around and visited with some of them, 00:10:44.21\00:10:46.14 and I think you made a lot of good connections 00:10:46.14\00:10:48.01 and friendships there. 00:10:48.01\00:10:48.98 - Made some great friends, yeah. 00:10:48.98\00:10:50.21 The camp meeting was more than just meetings, 00:10:50.21\00:10:52.21 there was times that we just spent together 00:10:52.21\00:10:53.88 and we just got to know them 00:10:53.88\00:10:55.98 and there's such a people, they're really hospitable 00:10:55.98\00:10:59.72 and there's some language barriers 00:10:59.72\00:11:01.92 because they don't speak English well, 00:11:01.92\00:11:03.49 and I don't speak Tetum or Portuguese. 00:11:03.49\00:11:07.40 But we worked our way through that, 00:11:07.40\00:11:09.60 when you have a love of God in your heart, 00:11:09.60\00:11:11.20 and they have a love of God in their heart, 00:11:11.20\00:11:12.53 I mean there's just a bond and a connection that's there. 00:11:12.53\00:11:14.74 So yeah made really good friends, 00:11:14.74\00:11:16.71 they are still are friends on Facebook, we stay in touch. 00:11:16.71\00:11:19.24 - That's awesome. 00:11:19.24\00:11:20.48 - That's good. 00:11:20.48\00:11:21.58 - So Faith Camp always starts Wednesday evening 00:11:21.58\00:11:22.61 with a keynote speech. 00:11:22.61\00:11:23.75 And then we start the next morning, 00:11:23.75\00:11:26.05 we have six meetings normally during the day. 00:11:26.05\00:11:28.32 But then before that we have a United prayer, 00:11:28.32\00:11:30.49 people come together and we pray together. 00:11:30.49\00:11:32.62 With this situation, 00:11:32.62\00:11:34.22 that meant we met very early in the morning, 00:11:34.22\00:11:37.16 before the sun came up 00:11:37.16\00:11:38.66 and I wasn't sure how they would receive this. 00:11:38.66\00:11:42.40 And I don't normally do the prayer leading, 00:11:42.40\00:11:44.90 but we all gathered together and we started praying. 00:11:44.90\00:11:48.20 And at first it was kind of stilted 00:11:48.20\00:11:50.21 because they weren't sure how this was gonna work. 00:11:50.21\00:11:52.41 But as we progressed, 00:11:52.41\00:11:53.61 as we did this morning after morning, 00:11:53.61\00:11:55.34 it's like they started to really connect in. 00:11:55.34\00:11:57.61 - They did, they opened up to the time of prayer 00:11:57.61\00:12:00.32 and it was just beautiful. 00:12:00.32\00:12:01.65 I mean they were just pouring out their hearts. 00:12:01.65\00:12:02.95 I couldn't always understand what they were praying 00:12:02.95\00:12:05.22 but I could sense their heart's desire for more of God 00:12:05.22\00:12:08.79 and the burdens that were on the heart 00:12:08.79\00:12:10.03 they were just sharing, it was a beautiful. 00:12:10.03\00:12:11.63 - At first, it was like we had to really stretch 00:12:11.63\00:12:13.50 to make the 45 minutes and the last day I just let them go 00:12:13.50\00:12:17.37 'cause I felt the holy spirit moving, 00:12:17.37\00:12:19.40 and we went an hour and a half without stopping. 00:12:19.40\00:12:22.54 And you can see they're just really into it. 00:12:22.54\00:12:24.97 They're tired, but just loving it. 00:12:24.97\00:12:27.51 And you put this picture in, 00:12:27.51\00:12:29.48 I remember that little girl. 00:12:29.48\00:12:30.78 - Yeah. 00:12:30.78\00:12:31.88 Lots of children there just happy, 00:12:31.88\00:12:34.52 and of course a lot of them are in the school, 00:12:34.52\00:12:35.92 the ones that are living near Dili there. 00:12:35.92\00:12:38.65 But so many happy children, 00:12:38.65\00:12:40.09 just happy to be a part of this program. 00:12:40.09\00:12:41.32 - Awesome. 00:12:41.32\00:12:42.12 - Now there was this young girl 00:12:42.12\00:12:43.53 that their parents brought her in 00:12:43.53\00:12:46.59 to have special prayer for her. 00:12:46.59\00:12:47.96 They wanted healing for her. 00:12:47.96\00:12:49.53 And so of course we believe that God 00:12:49.53\00:12:51.40 has the same power to heal 00:12:51.40\00:12:52.63 as when Jesus was on this earth. 00:12:52.63\00:12:54.24 And so we had prayer for her asking God's will 00:12:54.24\00:12:56.40 to be done in her life, 00:12:56.40\00:12:57.94 and we certainly wanted to ask that if it was his will 00:12:57.94\00:13:00.08 that he would heal her, 00:13:00.08\00:13:01.11 and so we had this special prayer for her. 00:13:01.11\00:13:03.18 So the men decided to cook one day, 00:13:03.18\00:13:04.98 and so here here's the men giving their wives a break 00:13:04.98\00:13:08.52 and they were having a good time cooking in the kitchen. 00:13:08.52\00:13:10.72 - Nice. 00:13:10.72\00:13:12.02 - It's good food too. 00:13:12.02\00:13:12.82 - It was good. 00:13:12.82\00:13:13.86 (laughter) 00:13:13.86\00:13:14.96 - So tell me about this man in the wheelchair? 00:13:14.96\00:13:16.99 - So this man was at every single meeting. 00:13:16.99\00:13:19.39 And he was kind of somber at first, 00:13:19.39\00:13:23.10 but I always made an effort to go sit by him 00:13:23.10\00:13:25.77 and talk with him and try to communicate with him. 00:13:25.77\00:13:27.97 And he just warmed up 00:13:27.97\00:13:29.47 and became so much more friendly. 00:13:29.47\00:13:32.71 He and his wife were there every day 00:13:32.71\00:13:34.44 they just really enjoyed the camp meeting 00:13:34.44\00:13:36.54 and they were just so blessed by being around. 00:13:36.54\00:13:37.98 - Is there anything special about this? 00:13:37.98\00:13:39.05 - So this is one of the local houses 00:13:39.05\00:13:40.62 that's near the near the school 00:13:40.62\00:13:42.85 and they're fairly simple as you can see, 00:13:42.85\00:13:44.35 just a block structure with a metal roof, 00:13:44.35\00:13:46.45 rusting metal roof. 00:13:46.45\00:13:47.29 - Beautiful decorations. 00:13:47.29\00:13:48.16 - Yeah, nice plants. 00:13:48.16\00:13:49.72 - Yeah, that's the nice thing about being over 00:13:49.72\00:13:51.96 in that part of the country, plants grow. 00:13:51.96\00:13:54.73 - Yeah 00:13:54.73\00:13:55.66 - And I think during the week, 00:13:55.66\00:13:56.63 you took a hike up beside Dili 00:13:56.63\00:13:59.70 and got to see over the top of Dili. 00:13:59.70\00:14:02.00 - So this is pastor Bossty that I was with, 00:14:02.00\00:14:04.11 he's the pastor of the church in Dili. 00:14:04.11\00:14:07.04 - So while you were on this walk, 00:14:07.04\00:14:08.88 you recorded his telling you about his hearts burden. 00:14:08.88\00:14:11.68 So we'll play that. 00:14:11.68\00:14:12.61 - Our plan is God bless. 00:14:12.61\00:14:16.08 We are happy to see a school in Dili, in the city, 00:14:16.08\00:14:20.29 but outside the city, we need a dormitory, 00:14:20.29\00:14:23.22 we also need clinic, 00:14:23.22\00:14:24.96 a place to have camp meeting. 00:14:24.96\00:14:26.93 We'll also be happy to see big agriculture, 00:14:26.93\00:14:30.23 because in Timor-Leste all our food comes 00:14:31.30\00:14:34.97 from outside my country. 00:14:34.97\00:14:37.21 But we like to grow our food within our country, 00:14:37.21\00:14:39.67 this is my plan and prayer, thank you. 00:14:40.78\00:14:43.14 - He was mentioning them getting food from outside 00:14:43.14\00:14:45.51 of the country, I imagine is super expensive. 00:14:45.51\00:14:48.22 So he's hoping to start farming 00:14:48.22\00:14:49.95 so that they can grow their own food. 00:14:49.95\00:14:51.89 So this is just a street in Dili. 00:14:51.89\00:14:53.15 - Yeah's just a street in Dili. 00:14:53.15\00:14:54.86 - Another. 00:14:54.86\00:14:55.96 - Pretty house with some stone work yeah. 00:14:55.96\00:14:57.63 - Okay so tell us about this family. 00:14:57.63\00:14:59.59 - So this is pastor Anesiho, 00:14:59.59\00:15:00.76 he is the executive secretary 00:15:00.76\00:15:02.70 and the current acting president in between presidents. 00:15:02.70\00:15:06.97 And he's an ordained pastor that is Timor-Leste 00:15:06.97\00:15:10.74 Timor-Moris that is Timor-Moris 00:15:11.77\00:15:13.84 And he's just a dedicated man. 00:15:13.84\00:15:15.18 He tells stories about how, when the work began, 00:15:15.18\00:15:17.31 they would just be out carrying on meetings in the bush 00:15:17.31\00:15:20.58 and just sleeping under the stars. 00:15:20.58\00:15:22.98 And he's just, he's served the church faithfully 00:15:22.98\00:15:24.92 for many, many years and just a godly man. 00:15:24.92\00:15:26.82 - Dedicated. 00:15:26.82\00:15:28.22 - So I think this is a good time to kind of fast forward 00:15:28.22\00:15:29.76 a year and a half from this Faith Camp. 00:15:29.76\00:15:33.19 I was in Thailand and I saw a very unique announcement 00:15:33.19\00:15:37.77 that you had accepted a position. 00:15:37.77\00:15:40.24 And the reason I bring that up now 00:15:40.24\00:15:41.54 is because you are looking forward to working with this man 00:15:41.54\00:15:44.51 in the future. 00:15:44.51\00:15:45.31 - Absolutely, yeah, yeah. 00:15:45.31\00:15:46.61 - So, after this camp meeting, 00:15:46.61\00:15:48.44 I stayed in touch with the workers over there. 00:15:48.44\00:15:51.11 I mean Pastor House is a friend of mine, 00:15:51.11\00:15:52.51 we stay in touch on Facebook and comment 00:15:52.51\00:15:54.08 on each other's pictures and pastor Ignasio as well. 00:15:54.08\00:15:58.05 And so I'm good friends with these folks on Facebook 00:15:58.05\00:16:00.66 and things and we just stayed in touch 00:16:00.66\00:16:02.49 and they just been a dear spot in my heart 00:16:02.49\00:16:04.53 for the work that's over there. 00:16:04.53\00:16:06.70 And where I'm at now, I love my church, 00:16:06.70\00:16:08.90 I love, absolutely love them to pieces 00:16:08.90\00:16:11.60 and would never consider going anywhere else. 00:16:11.60\00:16:13.30 But pastor House was needed to come back to the States 00:16:13.30\00:16:17.14 and they needed a replacement to take his place over there. 00:16:17.14\00:16:19.77 And so we received a call to come serve over there 00:16:19.77\00:16:22.81 in his place. 00:16:22.81\00:16:24.18 And boy it really was hard for us to consider this. 00:16:24.18\00:16:27.08 My wife and I honestly prayed, 00:16:27.08\00:16:29.02 and over a time of praying about it, 00:16:29.02\00:16:30.52 we really had a sense of peace and a sense of clarity 00:16:30.52\00:16:32.52 that this is where God is calling us and so. 00:16:32.52\00:16:35.16 Yeah so when you saw the announcement there, 00:16:35.16\00:16:36.66 we had received and accepted a call, 00:16:36.66\00:16:39.13 to come serve as the president of the Timor-Leste mission. 00:16:39.13\00:16:42.00 - Yeah, so yeah, we're gonna miss you a crazy amount. 00:16:42.00\00:16:45.10 I have no idea what pastor 00:16:45.10\00:16:46.13 they're gonna bring in your place, 00:16:46.13\00:16:47.74 we'll probably leave it. 00:16:47.74\00:16:48.57 - A better one question. 00:16:48.57\00:16:50.21 - Yeah that but yes. 00:16:50.21\00:16:52.74 - A lot a prayer guide can provide the right pastor 00:16:52.74\00:16:54.64 for South Bay too. 00:16:54.64\00:16:56.31 - That's right absolutely. 00:16:56.31\00:16:57.15 - Yeah. 00:16:57.15\00:16:58.51 But South Bay was your church before you became a pastor. 00:16:58.51\00:17:00.28 - Yeah that's right. 00:17:00.28\00:17:01.32 So as South Bay started, 00:17:01.32\00:17:02.68 I was just the missional leader of the church. 00:17:02.68\00:17:05.32 And then over a period of time, I went back to school, 00:17:05.32\00:17:08.16 got my theology degree and I was hired 00:17:08.16\00:17:10.46 to work there part-time while I was in school. 00:17:10.46\00:17:11.49 And then when I finished, 00:17:11.49\00:17:12.76 they ended up hiring me full time. 00:17:12.76\00:17:14.63 So I've been full time pastor there. 00:17:14.63\00:17:16.16 So I kind of grew up with South Bay, 00:17:16.16\00:17:18.37 as it grew, I grew, you know, anyway. 00:17:18.37\00:17:20.80 - Has your wife been to Timor-Leste yet? 00:17:20.80\00:17:22.47 - So my wife has not been there, 00:17:22.47\00:17:23.64 she's just seen pictures. 00:17:23.64\00:17:24.77 And when I was there, I would faceTime her, 00:17:24.77\00:17:26.34 and so she met a number of the people. 00:17:26.34\00:17:28.71 But she's had a sense of peace 00:17:28.71\00:17:29.81 that this is where God is leading. 00:17:29.81\00:17:31.05 - Wow, that's amazing. 00:17:31.05\00:17:32.75 So in your transit, it's like, 00:17:32.75\00:17:34.95 is this gonna be like a long transition? 00:17:34.95\00:17:37.15 You gonna ship a whole bunch of furniture 00:17:37.15\00:17:38.85 and stuff over there? 00:17:38.85\00:17:39.92 - So the transition is fairly short. 00:17:39.92\00:17:41.79 I mean, we're headed over there this summer in may. 00:17:41.79\00:17:44.29 And now we're just gonna pack what's in our bags, 00:17:44.29\00:17:46.80 we're not shipping a container. 00:17:46.80\00:17:48.00 What we can put on our bags 00:17:48.00\00:17:49.40 is what we're gonna take over there, you know? 00:17:49.40\00:17:51.57 - So when you get there you're gonna hit the ground running, 00:17:51.57\00:17:54.07 you know a little bit about what the needs are 00:17:54.07\00:17:55.84 'cause you were there at Faith Camp. 00:17:55.84\00:17:58.41 What is gonna be your first priority? 00:17:58.41\00:18:01.34 - I'm still learning what some of the needs are, 00:18:01.34\00:18:03.11 and pastor House has done a tremendous job 00:18:03.11\00:18:04.71 leading the church there. 00:18:04.71\00:18:05.95 And so I'm trying to understand what he has been doing 00:18:05.95\00:18:08.35 so I can strengthen what has happened. 00:18:08.35\00:18:10.65 And so they are in the process of building a school 00:18:10.65\00:18:13.76 over on a far part of the island in Los pollos. 00:18:13.76\00:18:16.26 And so I'm headed over there in February 00:18:16.26\00:18:18.59 for a couple of weeks, 00:18:18.59\00:18:19.86 to find out what's going on with that school, 00:18:19.86\00:18:21.43 as well as the 13th seventh offering this quarter. 00:18:21.43\00:18:24.53 Now the first quarter of 2022 is going to help 00:18:24.53\00:18:26.67 build the school in Dili. 00:18:26.67\00:18:28.57 They had temporary structures 00:18:28.57\00:18:30.01 but they'll be building some permanent ones. 00:18:30.01\00:18:31.31 So I'll be meeting the division officers over there 00:18:31.31\00:18:33.21 and Peter Coolick, 00:18:33.21\00:18:34.54 who is the gentleman that works for a general conference 00:18:34.54\00:18:36.61 in charge of their building programs, 00:18:36.61\00:18:38.81 be meeting them there. 00:18:38.81\00:18:40.22 We're praying that we can get this building project started, 00:18:40.22\00:18:42.75 so they can hopefully be open this fall 00:18:42.75\00:18:44.65 for our school system. 00:18:44.65\00:18:46.12 - So you're praying for a really strong 13 Sabbath offer. 00:18:46.12\00:18:48.59 - Yes, we're praying a strong 13 Sabbath offering. 00:18:48.59\00:18:50.79 - You know, it's interesting 'cause I think a lot of times 00:18:50.79\00:18:52.63 we look at the 13 Sabbath offering 00:18:52.63\00:18:54.46 and it's so disconnected, you know. 00:18:54.46\00:18:56.56 So we give by faith, 00:18:56.56\00:18:57.87 but we have no idea where it goes, 00:18:57.87\00:19:00.14 and it's kind of like putting into a black hole. 00:19:00.14\00:19:02.07 But now we can see you are gonna be directly affected 00:19:02.07\00:19:05.57 by our 13 Sabbath offering. 00:19:05.57\00:19:07.38 - Well the 13 Sabbath offering is, 00:19:07.38\00:19:08.78 it makes such a difference in the lives of the people 00:19:08.78\00:19:10.18 around the world. 00:19:10.18\00:19:11.55 And so yeah, just flip your quarterly over on the back 00:19:11.55\00:19:12.65 and you can see where it's going. 00:19:12.65\00:19:13.75 You can pray about those locations 00:19:13.75\00:19:15.35 and then when your funds go, 00:19:15.35\00:19:16.69 it really makes a huge difference 00:19:16.69\00:19:18.62 in ways that they couldn't raise enough money to do, 00:19:18.62\00:19:21.56 and so they're able to do larger projects 00:19:21.56\00:19:23.09 through the world church giving to make this happen. 00:19:23.09\00:19:25.53 That's awesome. 00:19:25.53\00:19:26.86 And so we can, in addition to that school, that project, 00:19:26.86\00:19:29.50 we can start praying that you'd be able to build 00:19:29.50\00:19:31.40 a network of schools throughout the island. 00:19:31.40\00:19:33.60 - Yeah we'd love to see a network of schools 00:19:33.60\00:19:35.17 throughout the island that we can provide. 00:19:35.17\00:19:36.50 - Maybe some smaller lower costs like elementary schools. 00:19:36.50\00:19:39.57 Do you need to like train the teachers, 00:19:39.57\00:19:41.34 because I know in Cambodia we had to train our teachers? 00:19:41.34\00:19:44.71 - I mean that's the desire is that there is local teachers 00:19:44.71\00:19:47.32 that are raised up. 00:19:47.32\00:19:48.42 lot of the teachers that are teaching now 00:19:48.42\00:19:49.45 or from other locations coming in. 00:19:49.45\00:19:51.35 So the teachers need raised up and trained 00:19:51.35\00:19:53.22 to carry on the work. 00:19:53.22\00:19:54.86 - Okay, do you see opportunities 00:19:54.86\00:19:56.56 for people coming in and doing a short term mission 00:19:56.56\00:19:59.06 type of work? 00:19:59.06\00:20:00.40 - Oh yes we definitely have lots of opportunities 00:20:00.40\00:20:01.73 for evangelism, for health work, for building projects. 00:20:01.73\00:20:04.73 Yeah we definitely could use some help there. 00:20:04.73\00:20:06.27 - Awesome. 00:20:06.27\00:20:07.64 Okay, well, I'd like to go back to the Faith Camp, 00:20:07.64\00:20:08.97 how did you enjoy the music while we were there? 00:20:08.97\00:20:11.04 - Oh, the music was wonderful, 00:20:11.04\00:20:12.41 and the people loved to sing and I look at this little one. 00:20:12.41\00:20:16.31 (laughter) 00:20:16.31\00:20:17.48 - The babies are so cute. 00:20:17.48\00:20:19.05 - Yeah precious. 00:20:19.05\00:20:20.78 - Wonderful families, there they are smiling, 00:20:20.78\00:20:22.08 right there that's the picture I was talking about. 00:20:22.08\00:20:23.52 - Oh, that's the man with the wheelchair. 00:20:23.52\00:20:25.15 - Yes, the man with a wheelchair that was smiling. 00:20:25.15\00:20:27.06 - That's awesome and his wife. 00:20:27.06\00:20:28.72 They've had a really hard life. 00:20:28.72\00:20:31.46 I mean is only in the seventies 00:20:31.46\00:20:33.33 where they had that genocide. 00:20:33.33\00:20:35.20 And most of these people their families 00:20:35.20\00:20:36.90 have a missing member because of that. 00:20:36.90\00:20:38.97 And so they have that recovering thing from PTSD 00:20:38.97\00:20:42.47 and stuff like that, that they're having to deal with. 00:20:42.47\00:20:45.31 This photo here is of the lunch line. 00:20:45.31\00:20:48.14 Now he is made really excellent food. 00:20:48.14\00:20:49.74 - Good food, it was simple, 00:20:49.74\00:20:51.31 but it was just really nice to, 00:20:51.31\00:20:52.58 you know, eat together and spend time with them 00:20:52.58\00:20:54.18 and share a meal. 00:20:54.18\00:20:55.35 - Loved it. 00:20:55.35\00:20:56.55 - This lady is weaving Tais cloth, 00:20:56.55\00:20:58.45 which is a special fabric that is distinct 00:20:58.45\00:21:02.39 and unique to this island. 00:21:02.39\00:21:03.69 - Okay, all right, you're gonna have to get one of those. 00:21:03.69\00:21:06.76 - I have a piece for faith, yeah. 00:21:06.76\00:21:08.00 - Okay. 00:21:08.00\00:21:08.66 Throughout the meetings, 00:21:08.66\00:21:10.10 again, six hours of meetings per day. 00:21:10.10\00:21:12.37 Sometimes it went a little bit longer 00:21:12.37\00:21:14.30 and people just drink it up. 00:21:14.30\00:21:16.44 - They really enjoyed the meetings, yeah. 00:21:16.44\00:21:18.47 I mean sometimes the kids got a little sleepy, 00:21:18.47\00:21:19.84 but the parents were so interested. 00:21:19.84\00:21:21.68 - So this is a hymnal from the church there. 00:21:22.81\00:21:25.58 The local language is Tetum which I'd never heard of before. 00:21:25.58\00:21:29.08 There's actually quite a number of languages 00:21:29.08\00:21:30.75 spoken on that island, 00:21:30.75\00:21:32.22 Tetum is the main language. 00:21:32.22\00:21:34.56 - Yeah so Tetum and Portuguese are the official languages. 00:21:34.56\00:21:37.73 Portuguese is more used in the legal element of the island 00:21:37.73\00:21:41.33 and Tetum is what's mostly spoken, 00:21:41.33\00:21:43.60 but you're right, there's a number of languages there. 00:21:43.60\00:21:45.20 - Are you gonna try to learn the language? 00:21:45.20\00:21:46.67 - Even now I'm trying to learn Tetum, 00:21:46.67\00:21:48.67 and I've got some stuff I learning online. 00:21:48.67\00:21:50.74 So Deak Lae is how are you? 00:21:50.74\00:21:53.91 and your response would be Deak. 00:21:53.91\00:21:55.18 - Deak. 00:21:55.18\00:21:56.08 That sounds simple. 00:21:56.08\00:21:56.91 - Deak Lae. 00:21:56.91\00:21:57.88 - Deak. 00:21:57.88\00:21:58.98 - Good. 00:21:58.98\00:21:59.81 - Perfect. 00:21:59.81\00:22:00.58 - All right. 00:22:00.58\00:22:01.25 - Congratulations. 00:22:01.25\00:22:02.22 (laughter) 00:22:02.22\00:22:03.32 - All right so towards the weekend though, 00:22:03.32\00:22:05.15 the numbers started really climbing. 00:22:05.15\00:22:06.96 I think day and Friday, 00:22:06.96\00:22:08.62 we had like a hundred, 150 people, 00:22:08.62\00:22:11.26 but Sabbath, I think pretty much a third 00:22:11.26\00:22:13.43 of the entire church membership 00:22:13.43\00:22:15.20 of the entire island showed up. 00:22:15.20\00:22:17.07 - Yeah, the church was full on Sabbath, 00:22:17.07\00:22:19.10 it was beautiful to see everyone there. 00:22:19.10\00:22:20.37 - Yeah. 00:22:20.37\00:22:21.74 It was so powerful and people just really drinking it in, 00:22:21.74\00:22:24.37 just loving it, every single presentation. 00:22:24.37\00:22:27.18 The music to me throughout the week, 00:22:27.18\00:22:29.88 got stronger and more spiritual 00:22:29.88\00:22:31.61 and more, you know, convicted 00:22:31.61\00:22:33.11 that you could just see people's hearts were being moved. 00:22:33.11\00:22:35.48 And I just love being in a place 00:22:35.48\00:22:37.05 where God's word is preached 00:22:37.05\00:22:39.22 by a number of different people. 00:22:39.22\00:22:41.09 And we don't plan ahead of time, 00:22:41.09\00:22:43.09 but it seems like all of our sermons, 00:22:43.09\00:22:44.76 all of our presentations, 00:22:44.76\00:22:45.89 just sink into place and they just fall, 00:22:45.89\00:22:48.33 you know, they just have this unity 00:22:48.33\00:22:50.30 that makes an overall strong direct impression. 00:22:50.30\00:22:53.44 - Yeah well the spirit definitely led. 00:22:53.44\00:22:54.94 - Yeah 00:22:54.94\00:22:56.17 - yeah. 00:22:56.17\00:22:57.44 - Yeah, God expands the expands the theme 00:22:57.44\00:22:59.51 throughout by, you know, 00:22:59.51\00:23:00.68 this sermon touches on this part of it 00:23:00.68\00:23:02.71 and this sermon touches on the next part of it, 00:23:02.71\00:23:04.68 and it just all meshes together nicely. 00:23:04.68\00:23:07.35 Yeah. 00:23:07.35\00:23:08.25 (congregation singing) 00:23:09.15\00:23:12.49 - And here's a shot of you actually preaching. 00:23:32.37\00:23:34.98 And do you remember what you were thinking, 00:23:34.98\00:23:36.34 while you were feeling while you were preaching there? 00:23:36.34\00:23:38.91 Well I just had a heart for the people. 00:23:38.91\00:23:39.95 I mean they're such special people 00:23:39.95\00:23:41.38 and I just wanted them to experience the power 00:23:41.38\00:23:44.25 and the love of Jesus in their life 00:23:44.25\00:23:45.95 and to just have a deeper walk with them. 00:23:45.95\00:23:48.12 - Yeah. 00:23:48.12\00:23:49.42 - They're such sweet people, fell in love with him. 00:23:49.42\00:23:50.76 - That's awesome. 00:23:50.76\00:23:51.86 And looks like you met a family there. 00:23:51.86\00:23:53.86 - This family here, we met together 00:23:53.86\00:23:56.36 and we had prayer for this couple. 00:23:56.36\00:23:59.43 They were, he was not an Adventist and I believe she was, 00:23:59.43\00:24:02.14 and he was struggling with some things in his life. 00:24:02.14\00:24:04.81 I think he had some addictions 00:24:04.81\00:24:06.57 and they asked that we pray with them, 00:24:06.57\00:24:08.44 and this man in the blue shirt, Ane, 00:24:08.44\00:24:10.71 was good friends and had been studying with these folks. 00:24:10.71\00:24:13.45 And so we went over there to have prayer with them. 00:24:13.45\00:24:15.22 So they'd come to the meetings, he not being an Adventist. 00:24:15.22\00:24:17.15 It was beautiful, so we had prayer 00:24:17.15\00:24:18.19 and ask God's power in their life. 00:24:18.19\00:24:19.59 - Nice. 00:24:19.59\00:24:20.66 - That's awesome. 00:24:20.66\00:24:21.79 Coming to the very last day, it's was a Sunday, 00:24:21.79\00:24:22.99 I dunno if you remember. 00:24:22.99\00:24:24.49 We all got that around in circle and people just shared. 00:24:24.49\00:24:28.00 - It was painful. 00:24:28.00\00:24:29.03 Actually I remember people weeping 00:24:29.03\00:24:30.80 in our time of prayer. 00:24:30.80\00:24:31.90 - Yeah, the ground was wet, 00:24:31.90\00:24:34.10 I remember you guys sharing that story 00:24:34.10\00:24:36.40 of how it was just, they were weeping 00:24:36.40\00:24:38.37 and the whole ground was wet under where they were praying. 00:24:38.37\00:24:41.71 - Yeah, yeah. 00:24:41.71\00:24:43.01 And they just shared their responses, 00:24:43.01\00:24:45.81 you know, responses to the weeks. 00:24:45.81\00:24:48.32 We've never done this before 00:24:48.32\00:24:49.38 where people just have a chance to share 00:24:49.38\00:24:52.12 what they have learned during the week. 00:24:52.12\00:24:53.92 And it was amazing, it was powerful. 00:24:53.92\00:24:56.73 I left on such a high, took me several days to calm down. 00:24:56.73\00:25:00.80 Actually it was just so spiritually intense and high 00:25:00.80\00:25:03.90 and such a wonderful experience. 00:25:03.90\00:25:06.07 And then at the very end of Faith Camp, 00:25:06.07\00:25:07.84 we all gathered in a big circle, 00:25:07.84\00:25:10.14 held hands and sang side by side, we stand. 00:25:10.14\00:25:13.71 And then we all of course got the obligatory final photo. 00:25:13.71\00:25:17.85 (chuckles) 00:25:17.85\00:25:19.48 - John that was a beautiful time 00:25:19.48\00:25:21.72 as we finished up together there. 00:25:21.72\00:25:23.65 And you were on a spiritual high 00:25:23.65\00:25:25.65 and my heart was just broken. 00:25:25.65\00:25:26.99 I mean I felt like I would never see these people again, 00:25:26.99\00:25:28.72 I wouldn't be until heaven, you know. 00:25:28.72\00:25:29.89 And you've been places, 00:25:29.89\00:25:31.23 you know, that you'll never see them again 00:25:31.23\00:25:33.26 and that's it. 00:25:33.26\00:25:34.76 And so that's the way it is on this earth, 00:25:34.76\00:25:38.40 but we have heaven to look forward to it 00:25:38.40\00:25:39.73 where we can be together and what a joyous day that will be. 00:25:39.73\00:25:42.77 - Yeah and now that you get a chance to go back. 00:25:42.77\00:25:44.91 - I can't wait to see them again. 00:25:44.91\00:25:46.17 - Yeah. 00:25:46.17\00:25:46.98 - Looking forward to that. 00:25:46.98\00:25:48.04 -
