were people out there

came back and got his two-

went over on a short-term trip.

trip turned into over 10 years.

What was it
that kept them there?

- Well, God started sending
them babies to take care of.

couldn't take care of them,

And so they've
had several girls.

It's interesting 'cause
they had four boys of their own

and then the Lord
gave them several girls.

- I asked Lisa, what was
the first thing you thought of

handed your first baby?

And she thought 20 years.

She says, "I'm gonna have to
be here for another 20 years."

And she's like,
Lord, can I do this?

And she's like, yeah.

So I see the spirit of the
Lord taking people and saying,

saying yes to God's call

When Lisa and Leroy
first went over there,

Travis was with them.

And then Travis felt the
call of starting a school

wonderful school going

changed and the needs changed

from that project.

started a school in the jungle

again and they had to move

moved to a different village.

years we've had Sharon families

all in the same area,

- So they've been doing
outreach among the people,

but then they started to
see the lack of understanding,

lack of
knowledge of Bible truths,

about who God really is
and the lack of understanding

and the lack of resources.

They started to feel a burden.

Travis had a burden
00:05:42.10\00:05:44.04
that there needed to
be more literature there

in their local
language for these people.

Simple literature that
just explained one thing,

one simple concept
that they could understand.

And we think literature
is widely available anywhere.

We have Christian bookstores,

we have Christian
literature in Walmart

and all the other
stores, it's readily available.

And even in lots of
little convenience stores

where you stop to get gas,

there might be spiritual
literature available there.

Or you could even buy
the whole Bible there.

But they don't have
that where they are.

They don't have that pretty
much anywhere in Thailand.

- There's very few books
that have been translated.

Even fewer books
that have been authored

in the local language.

And then even those

And this is one of the
results of the fact that 92%

languages of the world combined.

And so you get this situation
where there's almost no books,

there's almost no books
available to the general public.

You might be able to
find some books in Thailand

that have a

but you have to
go searching for it.

been growing on their hearts

And so I sat down and I

And I felt convicted to do it,

what to do with it.

here for 12 years now

raising children,

the very strange situation

of not having anything to do.

And I don't speak the language

these years raising children

that learned English, I was
just kind of looking around me

saying, "Lord, what do
you want me to do now?"

I mean, I can keep
my little house clean

and I can work in my garden,

but that feels really pointless,

especially in the
times in which we're living.

started it was Jason, actually.

called me and he said,

And so I was like,
"Wow, something to do.

This is so exciting."

And so we dropped everything.

We ran to town and did a
bunch of shopping for them

and got all the stuff he needed
and went up to their place.

And we sat down with them
and helped them make books

for a couple of days.

And that was really fun.

What was amazing to me is
that this started happening

It wasn't just Travis

- 'Cause Leroy has felt a
need for this for quite a while.

In fact, he's had

and he hired the Bible workers

but it wasn't anywhere
