that we're gonna meet today,

So, even though they're staying

to be missionaries,

of life for them at their homes

where they grew up
compared to what they live in

in the mountains is
very, very different.

- The Filipino culture

is heavily
influenced by Christianity.

About 90% of the country,

of the
population, is Roman Catholic.

And we have
almost as many (mumbles)

in the Philippines as
we have in North America.

- That's a lot, so
they understand a lot more

about Christianity than a
lot of Asian countries do.

- The ministry
we're talking about here

is called Mindoro Outreach.

And they've been doing
ministry for nine years,

but the Lord is adding to it.

They started out
just doing education,

and then it became
a religious training.

The people started
seeing the difference

in the lives of the
missionary from their own lives.

- Well, originally the
village leaders told them

not to teach the religion.

They could teach secular
education, but no religion.

But when the
teachers went in there,

they just lived their life.

And the kids and the adults

saw that they were
living without fear.

There's some amazing miracle
stories that took place there.

But the kids and
a lot of the leaders

decided they
wanted that religion also.

And so it's grown from there.

But the way they
do their outreach

or six villages and more.

So they can't go themselves,

student missionaries in

Now, one thing we notice in this

is that this is a
very remote village.

I mean, it's
bamboo huts, basically.

And so, these people will be
living there for the next year.

It's wonderful,

some of these young people

how her walk with Christ,

that it was what was the
door that was letting him in.

As she was serving
the people, she was like,

"How can I be a witness

So, the fact that she
was there to be a witness

was instrumental
in changing her life,

which I think is huge.

We don't have to be
perfect to be a missionary.

We don't have to
have all the check boxes

in our own lives in
order to be a missionary.

But as we go
in, as we serve Him,

then Jesus brings us into

not very many people

Well, he had hair, but
there was no facial features.

So, it was just blank.

them to places like this

where there's no doubt.

And that's what
animism is all about.

The religion of animism

is because they
have real evil spirits,

functioning, in their lives.

There's no doubt in their minds.

But that gives
them great faith in God,

because God is a spirit.

We have a hard time in
the West with the spirit side,

But, anyway, so this
is kind of an experience

But that is the very necessary
trials and experience we need

to really develop a

monsoon that came through,

dedicated that rice

to feeding the
people in the mountains.

take our Christianity,

the things that
we've been taught,

that Jesus loves us and
has a home in heaven for us.

We kinda take those for granted.

And when you see this
message in a different culture

where they don't have that
background, you start to see,

"Wow, what we have
been given is so valuable."

And it just makes
me hang onto it more,

value it more, and live in that.
