Hello and welcome to Jesus for Asia Now. 00:00:21.75\00:00:24.05 I'm Natalie Wood, and my husband Jon 00:00:24.05\00:00:25.52 is joining me today to share with us an inspiring project. 00:00:25.52\00:00:29.29 Hello, darling. Hi, darling. How are you? 00:00:29.29\00:00:31.16 Doing fine. Awesome. 00:00:31.16\00:00:32.53 You know, I know that we've shared a lot of things 00:00:32.53\00:00:35.06 on this show, very statistics and stuff like that, 00:00:35.06\00:00:38.20 and what we're going to be talking about today, 00:00:38.20\00:00:40.27 we've actually shared a little bit of it 00:00:40.27\00:00:42.50 on our Christmas special recently. 00:00:42.50\00:00:43.71 Yes. 00:00:43.71\00:00:44.71 And we just want to share a little more in-depth 00:00:44.71\00:00:48.54 with our viewers and let them see 00:00:48.54\00:00:50.18 a little more about the project. 00:00:50.18\00:00:51.51 Right. 00:00:51.51\00:00:52.58 Yeah, well, there's a huge problem 00:00:52.58\00:00:53.65 in the in our foreign mission program 00:00:53.65\00:00:56.69 because, you know, the statistic is that 00:00:56.69\00:00:58.59 over 90% of all Christian giving worldwide 00:00:58.59\00:01:02.66 goes to ministry to the 8% that speak English. 00:01:02.66\00:01:06.03 Yeah, I know we've shared that statistic before. 00:01:06.03\00:01:08.70 And it's always very sobering to think about 00:01:08.70\00:01:10.60 all the people that don't speak English. 00:01:10.60\00:01:12.97 And there's 10% or less, 00:01:12.97\00:01:14.97 actually one missions organization 00:01:14.97\00:01:17.44 told us it was 96%, so that's 4% 00:01:17.44\00:01:20.48 or less of Christian giving worldwide 00:01:20.48\00:01:23.81 that goes to everyone else. 00:01:23.81\00:01:25.51 Right. 00:01:25.51\00:01:26.55 And what does that look like on the front lines? 00:01:26.55\00:01:28.85 You know, we've got very few resources, 00:01:28.85\00:01:32.12 very few books in print, very few Christian literature, 00:01:32.12\00:01:34.92 things like that that are not able to communicate the Gospel 00:01:34.92\00:01:39.69 to a vast number of people in foreign countries. 00:01:39.69\00:01:43.97 We take things for granted, how many versions of the Bible 00:01:43.97\00:01:46.77 do we have an English, and then how many languages 00:01:46.77\00:01:50.07 don't even have a Bible at all or if they have a Bible 00:01:50.07\00:01:53.61 that might be very inaccurate, or... 00:01:53.61\00:01:56.88 So there's a lot of challenges in foreign countries that we, 00:01:56.88\00:02:00.38 living here in America, aren't exposed to, 00:02:00.38\00:02:03.12 we don't have to deal with, so that's one of the reasons 00:02:03.12\00:02:05.55 why God has asked us to do shows like this 00:02:05.55\00:02:09.09 is to bring awareness of the needs 00:02:09.09\00:02:11.69 not because, you know, "Oh, that sounds terrible, 00:02:11.69\00:02:14.83 oh, you know, I have to go do that..." 00:02:14.83\00:02:16.10 Beat ourselves up or something. 00:02:16.10\00:02:17.70 Right, but it's like wow this is an opportunity 00:02:17.70\00:02:19.97 where we actually can make a difference. 00:02:19.97\00:02:22.10 Right. Right. 00:02:22.10\00:02:23.74 And that's the exciting part. Yes. 00:02:23.74\00:02:25.21 It's that it doesn't take very much 00:02:25.21\00:02:27.68 to make a huge difference. 00:02:27.68\00:02:28.74 Right. Right. 00:02:28.74\00:02:29.84 And some people may think, 00:02:29.84\00:02:30.91 "Well, there's so much need out there. 00:02:30.91\00:02:32.31 Where can I fit in, what can I do? 00:02:32.31\00:02:34.78 What difference will I make?" Right. 00:02:34.78\00:02:37.42 But just one soul is worth Jesus Christ dying for. 00:02:37.42\00:02:44.16 And so if we can just gain one soul, one more soul, 00:02:44.16\00:02:48.70 it's worth... It's all worth it. 00:02:48.70\00:02:49.76 Yeah. Absolutely. That's right. 00:02:49.76\00:02:50.80 Yeah. 00:02:50.80\00:02:51.87 It reminds me of what Mrs. White said, 00:02:51.87\00:02:53.17 over 100 years ago about needs in the mission field, 00:02:53.17\00:02:57.31 "Unless your hearts are touched in view of the situation 00:02:57.31\00:03:00.34 in foreign fields, the last message of mercy 00:03:00.34\00:03:03.18 to the world will be restricted, and the work 00:03:03.18\00:03:05.68 which God desires to have done will be left unaccomplished." 00:03:05.68\00:03:10.15 The sad thing is that over the last 100 years 00:03:10.15\00:03:12.72 that prediction has actually played itself out. 00:03:12.72\00:03:15.26 And so we look at our mission program throughout the world 00:03:15.26\00:03:17.83 and it's not anywhere near where it could be 00:03:17.83\00:03:21.60 or even where it should be. 00:03:21.60\00:03:23.57 And so God is calling us to make a difference 00:03:23.57\00:03:27.20 to redeem the time and do what we can 00:03:27.20\00:03:30.01 in the little time that we have. 00:03:30.01\00:03:31.27 Right. Right. 00:03:31.27\00:03:32.64 So today, we want to talk about Thailand. 00:03:32.64\00:03:35.11 Now Thailand in particular has some unique challenges. 00:03:35.11\00:03:39.31 There's over 70 languages in the country of the Thailand. 00:03:39.31\00:03:42.42 Yeah. Can you imagine? 00:03:42.42\00:03:43.69 I know that's really a huge, huge task right there. 00:03:43.69\00:03:48.92 Right. Yeah. 00:03:48.92\00:03:50.03 And many of those languages don't have any resources, 00:03:50.03\00:03:53.53 spiritual resources, some of them don't have Bibles, 00:03:53.53\00:03:56.53 some of them don't have any missionaries, 00:03:56.53\00:03:58.83 vast walls of Thailand that have 00:03:58.83\00:04:01.64 no Adventist presence whatsoever. 00:04:01.64\00:04:04.31 In fact, the majority of the church in Thailand 00:04:04.31\00:04:07.54 is in the minority groups and the Thai themselves 00:04:07.54\00:04:12.25 are pretty much unreached, 00:04:12.25\00:04:14.62 statistically they're not reached. 00:04:14.62\00:04:16.89 And so this is what has been a huge burden on our hearts 00:04:16.89\00:04:20.46 for many, many years. 00:04:20.46\00:04:21.56 Right, and you know Thailand is still somewhat open, 00:04:21.56\00:04:24.03 there's still religious freedom. 00:04:24.03\00:04:25.76 Correct. 00:04:25.76\00:04:26.86 And so there's a lot of people there, 00:04:26.86\00:04:28.26 and we still have an opportunity 00:04:28.26\00:04:30.23 to do more broad reaching type of evangelism 00:04:30.23\00:04:34.14 so to say, so to speak. 00:04:34.14\00:04:35.80 And like for instance, India. 00:04:35.80\00:04:37.31 India has had an open door for many decades, 00:04:37.31\00:04:39.71 but now we see that door closing, 00:04:39.71\00:04:41.64 and it's closing hard. 00:04:41.64\00:04:42.84 And so it's getting much more difficult to work in India. 00:04:42.84\00:04:47.05 But Thailand we still have some time, 00:04:47.05\00:04:48.92 it's starting to get a little tighter, 00:04:48.92\00:04:51.05 but it's not like some of the countries 00:04:51.05\00:04:52.65 that are really closed 00:04:52.65\00:04:54.62 and takes very creative ways to get in. 00:04:54.62\00:04:56.99 We still have the opportunity in Thailand. 00:04:56.99\00:04:59.23 But if we do it in Thailand, then it spreads 00:04:59.23\00:05:02.00 through these other language groups 00:05:02.00\00:05:03.37 into other parts of the countries and stuff. 00:05:03.37\00:05:06.10 Right. 00:05:06.10\00:05:07.40 So the project that we want to talk about today 00:05:07.40\00:05:09.77 is the Love For Asia Foundation, 00:05:09.77\00:05:12.07 and the seeds of that were actually planted in 2009. 00:05:12.07\00:05:14.94 Correct. 00:05:14.94\00:05:16.01 And the current team that we're working with 00:05:16.01\00:05:18.35 came together starting in 2012. 00:05:18.35\00:05:20.48 Yes. 00:05:20.48\00:05:21.52 And so we're excited to be able to share, 00:05:21.52\00:05:23.22 I know we've shared a bit about it before, 00:05:23.22\00:05:25.02 but we're excited to be able to share the current status. 00:05:25.02\00:05:27.56 Yeah, and I put together this little tiny video, 00:05:27.56\00:05:30.23 it's only 30 seconds long, but it just gives people 00:05:30.23\00:05:32.63 a sense of the environment, 00:05:32.63\00:05:34.60 the area that the office is based in. 00:05:34.60\00:05:37.93 Okay, let's watch that now. Okay. 00:05:37.93\00:05:39.83 Well, that's a beautiful location 00:06:45.77\00:06:47.04 for the office. 00:06:47.04\00:06:48.10 I know. I love it up there so much. 00:06:48.10\00:06:50.24 Papaya, mango, 00:06:50.24\00:06:51.64 right on the trees growing there, 00:06:51.64\00:06:53.17 rice fields, it's just really beautiful, 00:06:53.17\00:06:56.41 and it's warm all the time. 00:06:56.41\00:06:58.81 Yeah, that would be a blessing, wouldn't it? 00:06:58.81\00:07:00.38 Yes. 00:07:00.38\00:07:02.28 Well, that team is led by a volunteer Daniel Bair 00:07:02.28\00:07:05.85 and his wife Tesha and three children. 00:07:05.85\00:07:08.46 They've been in Thailand for five or six years now. 00:07:08.46\00:07:11.56 And so it's really neat to see 00:07:11.56\00:07:14.30 how their family is doing over there, 00:07:14.30\00:07:17.17 but the majority of the team is made up of Thai people. 00:07:17.17\00:07:20.74 Correct. 00:07:20.74\00:07:21.80 And various tribes within that, 00:07:21.80\00:07:23.47 but they are all born in Thailand, 00:07:23.47\00:07:26.68 natives of Thailand. 00:07:26.68\00:07:27.88 So on our team we have people that speak Hmong, 00:07:27.88\00:07:31.35 Korean, and Thai. 00:07:31.35\00:07:35.32 But there's many other language groups 00:07:35.32\00:07:37.39 in the area also that we work with like Lahu 00:07:37.39\00:07:40.99 and different groups like that that we try to work with 00:07:40.99\00:07:45.33 and develop material for. 00:07:45.33\00:07:46.63 Right. 00:07:46.63\00:07:47.66 So we have another video, and that's a walk through 00:07:47.66\00:07:50.43 of our office and then we'll talk a little more 00:07:50.43\00:07:52.67 about what the team is doing. 00:07:52.67\00:07:54.50 Okay. 00:07:54.50\00:07:55.60 Right now we're going to the office 00:08:12.95\00:08:14.42 where our team works day in and day out 00:08:14.42\00:08:17.56 developing resources for the Thai people 00:08:17.56\00:08:20.10 here in Thailand, and the Hmong people, 00:08:20.10\00:08:22.63 and the Mien people, and the Korean people. 00:08:22.63\00:08:25.13 People say, "Why do media?" 00:08:25.13\00:08:27.27 because two reasons, number one is expensive 00:08:27.27\00:08:30.11 and number two you can't hug people with a TV. 00:08:30.11\00:08:34.08 Well, it's expensive if you look 00:08:34.08\00:08:36.14 at the actual operating cost, but if you look at, 00:08:36.14\00:08:40.22 I mean, as an individual unit. 00:08:40.22\00:08:41.92 But if you look at the cost of reaching people 00:08:41.92\00:08:46.12 on a purpose and basis, this is actually 00:08:46.12\00:08:48.02 one of the cheapest ways, 00:08:48.02\00:08:49.42 the most cost-effective ways to reach people. 00:08:49.42\00:08:52.06 We find that media is a very effective way 00:08:52.06\00:08:54.83 to reach the masses. 00:08:54.83\00:08:56.03 And if you look at the number of people that are out there, 00:08:56.03\00:08:58.13 I mean, 65 million people here in Thailand, 00:08:58.13\00:09:00.64 and there's maybe 14,000 SDAs for 65 million. 00:09:00.64\00:09:06.54 And probably 12,000 of those SDAs 00:09:06.54\00:09:10.25 are foreigners or minority tribes. 00:09:10.25\00:09:13.15 So how are we going to reach the other 65 million people 00:09:13.15\00:09:16.52 that don't have access 00:09:16.52\00:09:19.75 and don't have a way to meet, you know. 00:09:19.75\00:09:21.49 So we've got to do it both ways. 00:09:21.49\00:09:22.86 I see the Bible workers as the ground force. 00:09:22.86\00:09:26.13 And the television and radio as the air force. 00:09:26.13\00:09:30.53 So send in the air force, send in the ground force, 00:09:30.53\00:09:33.80 you do it both, you're going to do it all. 00:09:33.80\00:09:35.44 So I'm excited about this. 00:09:35.44\00:09:37.21 And right now, we're going to go into the office 00:09:37.21\00:09:39.04 and I'll show you around in there. 00:09:39.04\00:09:40.84 So this is our office at Love for Asia Foundation. 00:09:46.08\00:09:50.45 And the foundation is like a nonprofit 501c3 in America. 00:09:50.45\00:09:55.09 It's a legal entity that we can hold 00:09:55.09\00:09:58.06 property through this, we can have bank account, 00:09:58.06\00:10:01.70 we can have a board of directors 00:10:01.70\00:10:05.13 that kind of oversee and make decisions, 00:10:05.13\00:10:07.54 and we can do operations, we can help people, 00:10:07.54\00:10:10.07 a lot of things that we can do through this foundation. 00:10:10.07\00:10:12.74 And I'd like to show you around inside our office. 00:10:12.74\00:10:15.58 This is just a regular workday, we did not clean up, 00:10:15.58\00:10:18.55 we didn't do any preparation for this filming. 00:10:18.55\00:10:20.68 But I figured that you'd rather see it the way it is. 00:10:20.68\00:10:23.15 But let's come on in, this is where they have 00:10:23.15\00:10:25.22 the morning worship, and they sing 00:10:25.22\00:10:27.59 and pray together, go over the day's plans, 00:10:27.59\00:10:29.89 this is where we have our board meetings 00:10:29.89\00:10:31.26 for the foundation. 00:10:31.26\00:10:32.83 And over here, we have a lot of the material 00:10:32.83\00:10:35.66 that they developed. 00:10:35.66\00:10:37.33 You can see all these DVDs ready to be passed out. 00:10:37.33\00:10:41.84 And different languages, the Hmong language, 00:10:41.84\00:10:44.87 and the Thai language is what we've done 00:10:44.87\00:10:47.18 the most of so far. 00:10:47.18\00:10:48.84 And then we've got, here's the Steps to Christ, 00:10:48.84\00:10:51.58 which is pretty amazing. 00:10:51.58\00:10:53.21 Sometimes they run out, 00:10:53.21\00:10:54.78 sometimes the whole country runs out, 00:10:54.78\00:10:56.69 and there's no Steps to Christ available at all. 00:10:56.69\00:10:59.42 Here's a recently translated Ellen White book. 00:10:59.42\00:11:02.39 Here's our office where Gop works. 00:11:02.39\00:11:05.86 Gop, say hi to the camera. Hello. 00:11:05.86\00:11:09.33 And he does the lot of the music, 00:11:09.33\00:11:13.80 and audio production, and audio sweetening work 00:11:13.80\00:11:16.87 for our production. 00:11:16.87\00:11:17.97 And also has been spending a lot of time 00:11:17.97\00:11:20.61 putting all the paperwork together 00:11:20.61\00:11:22.54 with his wife for the foundation, 00:11:22.54\00:11:24.81 and the videos and things like that. 00:11:24.81\00:11:26.48 So he's on the board, one of the board members, 00:11:26.48\00:11:29.38 and a part of the administration. 00:11:29.38\00:11:31.09 And so we really appreciate him and his wife 00:11:31.09\00:11:34.76 and what they bring to the table 00:11:34.76\00:11:36.22 because without them we wouldn't have a foundation. 00:11:36.22\00:11:38.96 So Frame, this is where she sits. 00:11:38.96\00:11:41.40 And she's been doing some translation 00:11:41.40\00:11:43.57 of Ellen White books. 00:11:43.57\00:11:44.63 They just finished an Ellen White devotional 00:11:44.63\00:11:46.90 which they haven't had 00:11:46.90\00:11:48.30 in the Thai language up until now. 00:11:48.30\00:11:49.97 She's also agreed just in the last couple days 00:11:49.97\00:11:52.71 to help with the translation of "Man of Peace," 00:11:52.71\00:11:55.41 which is the condensed version of Desire of Ages. 00:11:55.41\00:11:58.28 Over here is another office 00:11:58.28\00:12:00.95 where we have some more workers. 00:12:00.95\00:12:03.52 Brother Suet, he's our video editor, 00:12:03.52\00:12:05.42 he sits here. 00:12:05.42\00:12:06.72 And Bawbaw, who does our Quran language work, 00:12:06.72\00:12:10.56 sits here. 00:12:10.56\00:12:11.56 And this is where Wanida sits, and she is Hmong, 00:12:11.56\00:12:15.60 so she does a lot of the Hmong work. 00:12:15.60\00:12:16.93 She's right now doing a live radio broadcast 00:12:16.93\00:12:20.24 at the local Christian radio station in Hmong. 00:12:20.24\00:12:24.14 So this is where we work. 00:12:24.14\00:12:26.01 And this is where our team comes every day 00:12:26.01\00:12:29.68 and does the best they can. 00:12:29.68\00:12:31.98 Please pray for our team because working in a country 00:12:31.98\00:12:34.62 where there's less than 1% Christian, 00:12:34.62\00:12:37.05 there's a lot of challenges. 00:12:37.05\00:12:38.62 So thank you for your support and for your prayers. 00:12:38.62\00:12:41.69 So that is our rented office, that's a rented house 00:14:01.50\00:14:05.44 that we're using as office space. 00:14:05.44\00:14:07.48 Right. 00:14:07.48\00:14:08.54 And it's kind of gets crowded in there sometimes. 00:14:08.54\00:14:10.85 Very crowded. 00:14:10.85\00:14:11.91 There's extra people there in this video 00:14:11.91\00:14:13.85 because we have interns that come in the summertime. 00:14:13.85\00:14:16.99 But since we've filmed that, 00:14:16.99\00:14:18.19 we've hired several more people, 00:14:18.19\00:14:19.55 so it's crowded all the time. 00:14:19.55\00:14:21.46 Right. 00:14:21.46\00:14:22.49 And you know it gets very hot there in Thailand. 00:14:22.49\00:14:25.23 And before we had air conditioners, 00:14:25.23\00:14:27.50 we had equipment failing, and we had candles that melted 00:14:27.50\00:14:32.50 and hard drives failing. 00:14:32.50\00:14:34.04 Yeah, these big old candles and they just went like that 00:14:34.04\00:14:38.17 just from the heat in the office. 00:14:38.17\00:14:40.14 And hard drives were failing from overheating. 00:14:40.14\00:14:43.21 Right. 00:14:43.21\00:14:44.31 So we're really thankful that a donor made it possible 00:14:44.31\00:14:47.15 that helps the people 00:14:47.15\00:14:48.45 as well as helping the equipment. 00:14:48.45\00:14:49.88 Right. Yes. 00:14:49.88\00:14:51.09 So we do have need to have our own office 00:14:51.09\00:14:53.72 and an actual studio for this team to work in. 00:14:53.72\00:14:56.16 Yeah, we need to build something larger 00:14:56.16\00:14:57.79 and there aren't very many houses 00:14:57.79\00:14:59.49 in the area to rent. 00:14:59.49\00:15:01.10 Right. 00:15:01.10\00:15:02.23 Much less large enough to hold a growing team. 00:15:02.23\00:15:04.60 Right, there is a local donor in Thailand that has given 00:15:04.60\00:15:07.80 land for us to build an office and studio for this team. 00:15:07.80\00:15:10.94 Yay! 00:15:10.94\00:15:12.01 So we're very excited about that. 00:15:12.01\00:15:14.08 And you've seen the property. Yup. 00:15:14.08\00:15:15.91 It must mean that God wants us to go forward 00:15:15.91\00:15:18.35 which is going to be another leap of faith to start building 00:15:18.35\00:15:21.88 because as you know, this project gets 00:15:21.88\00:15:25.69 very little funding directly of its own. 00:15:25.69\00:15:27.66 Right. 00:15:27.66\00:15:28.66 Very few donors actually mark their donations 00:15:28.66\00:15:30.96 specifying that to go to this media team. 00:15:30.96\00:15:33.26 Correct. 00:15:33.26\00:15:34.30 And so most of the funding for this team 00:15:34.30\00:15:36.80 on a monthly basis comes from the general fund 00:15:36.80\00:15:39.47 of Jesus for Asia, so donations that are marked 00:15:39.47\00:15:42.27 for some other project or some specific need 00:15:42.27\00:15:45.11 will go to help pay for this. 00:15:45.11\00:15:47.14 And so it's a huge leap of faith 00:15:47.14\00:15:48.81 to start another large building project like that. 00:15:48.81\00:15:51.61 Correct. 00:15:51.61\00:15:52.68 So but it seems like if it's God's will, 00:15:52.68\00:15:54.75 then God will provide. 00:15:54.75\00:15:55.88 That's right. 00:15:55.88\00:15:57.02 And the truth is that this is such a strategic project, 00:15:57.02\00:16:01.76 you know, we've got projects that seem to be really massive 00:16:01.76\00:16:05.66 and flow like our Bible Workers Project, 00:16:05.66\00:16:09.26 you know, it's something easy to understand and to support. 00:16:09.26\00:16:12.07 But this project, not many people 00:16:12.07\00:16:14.44 really understand the impact of it 00:16:14.44\00:16:16.40 and yet it can impact millions of people. 00:16:16.40\00:16:19.44 Right. Right. 00:16:19.44\00:16:20.68 And we've got another video that you talk a little bit 00:16:20.68\00:16:23.18 in the video, I think, about the impact 00:16:23.18\00:16:25.61 and how far reaching it can be. 00:16:25.61\00:16:27.92 And so let's look at that video now. 00:16:27.92\00:16:29.92 I do want to say that you were there last June, 00:16:29.92\00:16:32.69 and you were sick. 00:16:32.69\00:16:33.79 I was sick. 00:16:33.79\00:16:35.02 I've been pushing really hard, and it just caught up with me. 00:16:35.02\00:16:37.93 Right, so you sound very croaky in this video, but it's okay. 00:16:37.93\00:16:41.26 That's all right. All right. 00:16:41.26\00:16:42.50 Okay. The Holy Spirit is being poured out here. 00:17:07.86\00:17:10.59 You know the Holy Spirit is poured out through His Word, 00:17:10.59\00:17:12.93 whenever His Word is preached, whenever it is shared 00:17:12.93\00:17:16.03 with people that don't know His message 00:17:16.03\00:17:18.23 or have heard it before, but it's all fresh to them 00:17:18.23\00:17:21.40 through the Holy Spirit is being poured out. 00:17:21.40\00:17:23.47 And this is an area of course in Thailand 00:17:23.47\00:17:26.24 where less than 1% is Christian. 00:17:26.24\00:17:28.31 This academy has a real mission outreach 00:17:28.31\00:17:31.38 probably less than half of this Adventist academy 00:17:31.38\00:17:34.55 is actually Adventist. 00:17:34.55\00:17:37.22 And many others are Buddhists, some are Christians 00:17:37.22\00:17:40.26 from other denominations, but with this evangelistic... 00:17:40.26\00:17:44.23 It's not really evangelistic series, 00:17:44.23\00:17:45.63 this is a seminar on Righteousness by Faith. 00:17:45.63\00:17:48.20 And I'm actually quite amazed at how much the kids 00:17:48.20\00:17:50.77 are tuning in because these are high school kids 00:17:50.77\00:17:53.87 and this is a college professor talking about 00:17:53.87\00:17:57.27 Righteousness by Faith. 00:17:57.27\00:17:58.37 So it's a pretty high concept. 00:17:58.37\00:18:00.24 But you can see these kids are like sometimes 00:18:00.24\00:18:03.11 they get tired, but a lot of times, 00:18:03.11\00:18:04.78 a lot of them are just like really focused on the message 00:18:04.78\00:18:08.28 and writing down the scriptures and stuff. 00:18:08.28\00:18:09.88 And we're going to have baptism this Sabbath. 00:18:09.88\00:18:12.92 I'm very excited about that. But it doesn't end here. 00:18:12.92\00:18:16.79 If this was just an evangelistic series, 00:18:16.79\00:18:19.19 this would be all that happened. 00:18:19.19\00:18:22.36 But we're filming this, we're doing 00:18:22.36\00:18:24.87 a five-camera production plus PowerPoint. 00:18:24.87\00:18:28.84 So we have six sources in and we're doing it, you know, 00:18:28.84\00:18:32.54 in a way that's more engaging the people who want to watch, 00:18:32.54\00:18:35.44 high quality, we're going to send it out. 00:18:35.44\00:18:37.68 And this series will live on in Thai forever. 00:18:37.68\00:18:42.15 And what's cool is that other pastors 00:18:42.15\00:18:44.79 will listen to it, and they'll use 00:18:44.79\00:18:47.52 some of the illustrations, some of the concepts 00:18:47.52\00:18:49.09 in their sermons so we'll continue to go on, 00:18:49.09\00:18:51.73 continue to grow. 00:18:51.73\00:18:52.83 And a lot of these countries, they don't have 00:18:52.83\00:18:56.93 the resources that we do. 00:18:56.93\00:18:58.17 You know, some of the things we take for granted like 00:18:58.17\00:19:00.24 concept of righteousness by faith 00:19:00.24\00:19:02.40 is not always clear in a country that is dominated 00:19:02.40\00:19:05.81 by a religion that says, you know, 00:19:05.81\00:19:09.51 you have to earn your way to salvation 00:19:09.51\00:19:11.68 and earn your way into heaven. 00:19:11.68\00:19:13.48 So this righteous by faith is really exciting. 00:19:13.48\00:19:17.25 And it's awesome that people like us 00:19:17.25\00:19:19.92 that are more like behind the scenes 00:19:19.92\00:19:21.92 that wouldn't preach a series like this, 00:19:21.92\00:19:24.36 get to help in the part of multiplying it 00:19:24.36\00:19:27.76 across the world. 00:19:27.76\00:19:28.93 Thailand is one country, there's other countries also, 00:19:28.93\00:19:32.23 So there's a lot of work to be done, 00:19:32.23\00:19:34.97 but God is behind it and He's pushing for it. 00:19:34.97\00:19:38.77 And if we give it our all, then He will come a lot sooner. 00:19:38.77\00:19:42.08 So thank you for joining us right here in Chiang Mai. 00:19:42.08\00:19:45.28 That's really wonderful to think about 00:20:35.10\00:20:36.70 the multiplication factor. 00:20:36.70\00:20:37.97 Oh, yeah. 00:20:37.97\00:20:39.03 You know, this was a special event, 00:20:39.03\00:20:40.44 but the special event is available now to anybody 00:20:40.44\00:20:44.27 that wants to watch it that has access to the Internet 00:20:44.27\00:20:46.78 because it's on the website, it's on our YouTube channel, 00:20:46.78\00:20:50.15 and it's available in DVD or VCD 00:20:50.15\00:20:52.48 whichever they're using now. 00:20:52.48\00:20:53.62 Right. 00:20:53.62\00:20:54.82 And it's really cool because it's another tool in the hand 00:20:54.82\00:20:56.79 of like a Bible Worker. 00:20:56.79\00:20:58.25 Somebody going door to door, or let's say, 00:20:58.25\00:21:00.42 they're having a Bible study, or a church, 00:21:00.42\00:21:02.66 something to give out to visitor, 00:21:02.66\00:21:05.56 something in their hand, 00:21:05.56\00:21:06.59 and that might not sound like much, 00:21:06.59\00:21:08.60 but in the country, there was a time 00:21:08.60\00:21:10.10 when I was there in Bangkok living there, 00:21:10.10\00:21:12.13 and I met somebody that was a Christian, 00:21:12.13\00:21:13.84 but didn't know much about Christianity. 00:21:13.84\00:21:15.97 I wanted to give him Steps to Christ, 00:21:15.97\00:21:17.71 I couldn't find one at the headquarters 00:21:17.71\00:21:20.88 of the church in Thailand. 00:21:20.88\00:21:22.98 So that's... 00:21:22.98\00:21:25.41 Yeah, to have materials available is a huge thing. 00:21:25.41\00:21:28.52 Yes. 00:21:28.52\00:21:29.62 And this can overcome illiteracy. 00:21:29.62\00:21:32.22 If somebody doesn't know how to read 00:21:32.22\00:21:33.49 or doesn't like to read, just listen to something. 00:21:33.49\00:21:36.42 Right, writing all the materials there 00:21:36.42\00:21:39.13 in their own language. 00:21:39.13\00:21:40.23 Yes. So what a blessing. 00:21:40.23\00:21:42.70 Now this foundation is fairly new. 00:21:42.70\00:21:44.97 Yes. 00:21:44.97\00:21:46.03 And you want to share a little bit about 00:21:46.03\00:21:48.17 where it came to be or how it came to be. 00:21:48.17\00:21:50.67 Oh, we've always wanted to have our own foundation. 00:21:50.67\00:21:52.71 So with a foundation, you have a legal standing in Thailand. 00:21:52.71\00:21:55.84 So you can own property, you can kind of like 00:21:55.84\00:22:00.05 set something up that's more permanent. 00:22:00.05\00:22:03.69 And it's been like almost impossible to do that. 00:22:03.69\00:22:07.26 But just in the last few years, we found out that 00:22:07.26\00:22:10.66 now the doors are open and it's possible especially 00:22:10.66\00:22:13.80 to have a foreigner on the board. 00:22:13.80\00:22:16.20 And so we started moving forward with it, 00:22:16.20\00:22:18.57 weren't sure how it's going to work, 00:22:18.57\00:22:19.70 we saw a lot of people trying it 00:22:19.70\00:22:21.20 and not really working out or taking years, 00:22:21.20\00:22:24.11 and years, and years to do it. 00:22:24.11\00:22:25.84 So we went ahead and when Gop and Frame, 00:22:25.84\00:22:31.38 his wife, when they came on board, 00:22:31.38\00:22:33.68 they started connecting with the government 00:22:33.68\00:22:35.42 in a way that the government started helping us, 00:22:35.42\00:22:37.75 telling us what to do. 00:22:37.75\00:22:39.42 Yeah, that's huge. Yeah. 00:22:39.42\00:22:41.02 That's what opened the door for us to have it now, 00:22:41.02\00:22:43.63 the foundation, the benefit of the foundation 00:22:43.63\00:22:46.36 is we didn't realize this when we were 00:22:46.36\00:22:48.46 first setting it up was that the laws have 00:22:48.46\00:22:52.13 changed for people staying in Thailand. 00:22:52.13\00:22:54.60 So a lot of the missionaries that were staying there 00:22:54.60\00:22:56.60 on a certain type of visa were no longer allowed 00:22:56.60\00:22:59.74 to stay there on that visa, but with the foundation, 00:22:59.74\00:23:04.01 they were able to provide them with a different kind of permit 00:23:04.01\00:23:08.72 that they were able to stay long-term. 00:23:08.72\00:23:10.79 So God raised up this foundation just in time 00:23:10.79\00:23:14.59 to provide continued presence 00:23:14.59\00:23:17.86 of quite a number of missionaries in Thailand. 00:23:17.86\00:23:21.43 So I feel like God brought this into being 00:23:21.43\00:23:24.87 for such a time as this. 00:23:24.87\00:23:26.37 Wow, that's awesome. Yeah. 00:23:26.37\00:23:29.04 What a vital project. I know. 00:23:29.04\00:23:31.04 Can you see why I'm so passionate 00:23:31.04\00:23:32.87 about this project? 00:23:32.87\00:23:33.94 Yes. 00:23:33.94\00:23:35.01 But the sad thing is a few years ago, 00:23:35.01\00:23:36.34 we almost had to close the program 00:23:36.34\00:23:38.05 just due to financial constraints. 00:23:38.05\00:23:41.48 And I said, "God, you know what? 00:23:41.48\00:23:43.72 I'll give my life for this program to continue." 00:23:43.72\00:23:46.86 I don't mind going on record and saying that I would 00:23:46.86\00:23:49.59 give my life for this program to continue and to grow. 00:23:49.59\00:23:52.36 Why? 00:23:52.36\00:23:53.50 Because there's so many people that don't know Christ, 00:23:53.50\00:23:55.90 and for them to not have even have access 00:23:55.90\00:23:59.47 and have the resources... 00:23:59.47\00:24:01.34 It's just this has to happen. Right. 00:24:01.34\00:24:04.47 And so that's why we're so passionate 00:24:04.47\00:24:06.01 about this particular project. 00:24:06.01\00:24:08.81 And it's not so exciting visually, you know, 00:24:08.81\00:24:11.68 people sitting in their office, working on a computer, 00:24:11.68\00:24:15.15 you know, that's not something that we can like see the need, 00:24:15.15\00:24:18.49 like poor starving children in the slum 00:24:18.49\00:24:21.36 or something like that. 00:24:21.36\00:24:22.42 But it's vital, it's a vital necessity 00:24:22.42\00:24:26.86 for this project to go forward. 00:24:26.86\00:24:28.53 You know, we talk about witnessing to people 00:24:28.53\00:24:30.97 that don't know Christ, the other part is like 00:24:30.97\00:24:33.50 you talked about in that last video encouraging 00:24:33.50\00:24:36.14 and strengthening the believers that are there 00:24:36.14\00:24:38.77 and enabling them to know more 00:24:38.77\00:24:41.14 so that they even have more to share. 00:24:41.14\00:24:42.74 Yeah, this is an amazing concept 00:24:42.74\00:24:44.65 that a lot of our churches in other countries 00:24:44.65\00:24:49.05 that haven't had that wealth of Ellen White material 00:24:49.05\00:24:52.62 or spiritual or religious material. 00:24:52.62\00:24:56.09 They don't really understand what it's like 00:24:56.09\00:24:58.33 to live a Christian lifestyle. 00:24:58.33\00:25:01.53 It's kind of strange, but the vegetarians in our church 00:25:01.53\00:25:06.07 in other countries are like really 00:25:06.07\00:25:09.80 kind of super conservative, and kind of weird, 00:25:09.80\00:25:12.14 and kind of, it's not a norm, it's not an accepted norm. 00:25:12.14\00:25:16.34 And so that's because there hasn't been this groundwork 00:25:16.34\00:25:19.71 and these resources that people have been able 00:25:19.71\00:25:22.92 to get into and really understand 00:25:22.92\00:25:25.22 because it's not just information, 00:25:25.22\00:25:27.86 being a Christian isn't just knowing 00:25:27.86\00:25:29.39 a bunch of information, 00:25:29.39\00:25:30.96 it's living a life that's Christ-like. 00:25:30.96\00:25:33.66 Right, and this is especially important in a country like 00:25:33.66\00:25:36.33 Thailand where there's less than 1% Christian. 00:25:36.33\00:25:38.67 Absolutely. It's vital. 00:25:38.67\00:25:40.40 Yes. 00:25:40.40\00:25:41.54 And so there's so much distance between where someone 00:25:41.54\00:25:45.04 that doesn't know who Christ is moving them all the way 00:25:45.04\00:25:48.44 into being a fully understanding 00:25:48.44\00:25:52.11 Christian Seventh-day Adventist believer. 00:25:52.11\00:25:54.52 That's a long ways. 00:25:54.52\00:25:55.98 And there's very few bridge materials, 00:25:55.98\00:25:58.75 majority of the Christian material even is quite details, 00:25:58.75\00:26:02.89 little details about this, and this, and this. 00:26:02.89\00:26:05.03 Whereas there like, "Who is God? 00:26:05.03\00:26:08.46 Why did He have to send His Son?" 00:26:08.46\00:26:10.10 Right. "What does salvation mean? 00:26:10.10\00:26:12.43 What does the word saved mean?" 00:26:12.43\00:26:13.97 They don't have a reference point. 00:26:13.97\00:26:15.04 Exactly. 00:26:15.04\00:26:16.04 You've mentioned they don't know the word saved 00:26:16.04\00:26:17.77 and that's because of their world view, 00:26:17.77\00:26:20.31 they believe in reincarnation. 00:26:20.31\00:26:21.74 So if you don't do well in this life, 00:26:21.74\00:26:23.51 then you pay for it in the next life, 00:26:23.51\00:26:25.45 but you will have another life... 00:26:25.45\00:26:27.28 Karma. 00:26:27.28\00:26:28.32 And many and thousands... Yes. 00:26:28.32\00:26:29.75 Of lives to look forward or to dread thousands of lives 00:26:29.75\00:26:34.19 and ahead until you may be in turn of honor. 00:26:34.19\00:26:39.13 And so the idea of being saved, either you get one life 00:26:39.13\00:26:42.63 and it's either uncomfortable or it's very comfortable, 00:26:42.63\00:26:47.17 you know, that or you are bound 00:26:47.17\00:26:49.04 to lose your life. 00:26:49.04\00:26:51.91 And thus Jesus comes in and saves you 00:26:51.91\00:26:54.94 and then you have eternal life. 00:26:54.94\00:26:56.81 So that concept is based on a Christian worldview. 00:26:56.81\00:27:01.08 And so that's where we really need to put this extra work 00:27:01.08\00:27:04.65 into to provide them the introduction to Jesus. 00:27:04.65\00:27:09.92 And teaching materials, and growth materials, 00:27:09.92\00:27:13.43 and introductory materials even. 00:27:13.43\00:27:15.73 So introductory materials for nonbelievers 00:27:15.73\00:27:18.30 and then growth materials for believers. 00:27:18.30\00:27:20.27 Right. Yes. To be encouraged. 00:27:20.27\00:27:22.50 Like for instance, our high calling 00:27:22.50\00:27:25.14 is going to be the very first Ellen White 00:27:25.14\00:27:28.18 Daily Devotional translated into Thai ever. 00:27:28.18\00:27:32.68 And the team is doing that. 00:27:32.68\00:27:34.12 They're almost done. Wow. 00:27:34.12\00:27:35.75 That's exciting. Yeah. 00:27:35.75\00:27:37.72 Isn't it amazing to think that we can be 00:27:37.72\00:27:40.22 a part of sharing the Gospel with these people? 00:27:40.22\00:27:43.59 It's such an amazing project 00:27:43.59\00:27:45.33 that we've just shared with you today. 00:27:45.33\00:27:47.30 And if the Lord is impressing you to be a part of this, 00:27:47.30\00:27:49.70 you can send your tax-deductible love gift 00:27:49.70\00:27:52.00 to Jesus for Asia, PO Box 1221, 00:27:52.00\00:27:55.20 Collegedale, Tennessee 37315. 00:27:55.20\00:27:58.77 Call us at (423) 413-7321 00:27:58.77\00:28:02.84 or visit our website at Jesus4Asia.org. 00:28:02.84\00:28:06.01 May God richly bless you 00:28:06.01\00:28:07.65 until we see you again next time 00:28:07.65\00:28:09.55 on Jesus for Asia Now. 00:28:09.55\00:28:11.02
