Well, first of
all I want to tell you

how we knew the
Lord want us to go there

with three big reasons.

We had no money, but
somebody donated us a truck.

And so that was a big indication

God wants us somewhere.

And then a young Karen
worker wanted to work with us.

calling him to work with us

and that's our key
to the Karen people

And the third reason was
we found out all around us

are 50 villages

and a lot of
them do not know God.

So we really felt God
calling us to that location.

Well, to me
medicine is the leading key

a small box of medicine.

there, we had hardly anything.

and myself took us 10 minutes

because that's all we had.

right out of what we were doing.

sure it was God's will

because we were gonna go
to Thailand the year before,

but that fell through.

And so the next year,
we just forgot about that

when somebody called
and wanted us to relieve

some missionaries on the border
while they are going for Laos.

So we would take
care of a school there

on the border
just for three months.

But we fell in love
with the Karen people

and understood their oppression.

difficulties that they face,

much in love with them,

Well, let's look

When I first moved in,

I had really absolutely nothing.

And we cooked outside.

But I noticed

we really got into the supplies

Yes, we are skipping

came from the government

which hasn't happened
since we've been there.

And the day
before the builder came,

the guy was alive

pressure and he was breathing.

So I go, we need to just
take him to the hospital.

and we prayed for him.

We prayed night and day for him.

So he had shot himself
as a result of depression

associated with taking opium?

removed nine bullets

part of his skull is gone.

And the guy had heard

daughter loved him the most.
