Hello, and welcome to Jesus for Asia Now. 00:00:22.35\00:00:24.82 Today, I've got one of our 00:00:24.85\00:00:26.15 Jesus for Asia missionaries with me 00:00:26.19\00:00:28.19 and she works in Thailand. 00:00:28.22\00:00:29.96 Her name is Gayle Haberkam. Welcome, Gayle. 00:00:29.99\00:00:32.23 Thank you. 00:00:32.26\00:00:33.29 We're so glad that you can be with us. 00:00:33.33\00:00:34.83 Now where in Thailand exactly are you working? 00:00:34.86\00:00:38.03 I'm working in an isolated mountain jungle area 00:00:38.07\00:00:41.20 in Northwest Thailand. 00:00:41.24\00:00:43.34 And what people group are you primarily working with? 00:00:43.37\00:00:45.71 The Karen. You said isolated. 00:00:45.74\00:00:47.84 Yes, it's really a long way out in the jungle. 00:00:47.88\00:00:52.08 Okay. 00:00:52.11\00:00:53.21 And many villages surround us. 00:00:53.25\00:00:55.45 What's the first picture that you want to start with? 00:00:55.48\00:00:57.55 Well, first of all I want to tell you 00:00:57.59\00:01:00.82 how we knew the Lord want us to go there 00:01:00.86\00:01:03.19 with three big reasons. 00:01:03.22\00:01:04.93 We had no money, but somebody donated us a truck. 00:01:04.96\00:01:07.96 Okay. 00:01:08.00\00:01:09.03 And so that was a big indication 00:01:09.06\00:01:10.57 God wants us somewhere. 00:01:10.60\00:01:12.13 And then a young Karen worker wanted to work with us. 00:01:12.17\00:01:15.74 He felt God calling him to work with us 00:01:15.77\00:01:17.54 and that's our key to the Karen people 00:01:17.57\00:01:19.64 for interpretation and help to understand the culture. 00:01:19.67\00:01:23.24 And the third reason was we found out all around us 00:01:23.28\00:01:27.05 are 50 villages 00:01:27.08\00:01:28.62 and a lot of them do not know God. 00:01:28.65\00:01:30.75 So we really felt God calling us to that location. 00:01:30.79\00:01:33.99 What is your entering wedge? 00:01:34.02\00:01:35.32 What do you do to show them 00:01:35.36\00:01:36.96 that you care and therefore God cares? 00:01:36.99\00:01:39.36 Well, to me medicine is the leading key 00:01:39.39\00:01:41.60 that leads them to Christ and so I'm a nurse. 00:01:41.63\00:01:44.10 And so, I had with me a small box of medicine. 00:01:44.13\00:01:47.10 But when I moved there, we had hardly anything. 00:01:47.14\00:01:49.94 My two boys, the Karen person and myself took us 10 minutes 00:01:49.97\00:01:54.21 to move into our house because that's all we had. 00:01:54.24\00:01:56.54 That's all you had. 00:01:56.58\00:01:57.51 And I know the story, you've shared this story 00:01:57.55\00:01:59.61 I think on our previous show 00:01:59.65\00:02:00.95 of how you ended up in Thailand. 00:02:00.98\00:02:02.45 I don't know if you want to share briefly that right now, 00:02:02.48\00:02:05.52 but I know it's a powerful story 00:02:05.55\00:02:07.26 of God's leading. 00:02:07.29\00:02:08.42 Yes, God just pulled us right out of what we were doing. 00:02:08.46\00:02:11.13 And we knew for sure it was God's will 00:02:11.16\00:02:13.53 because we were gonna go to Thailand the year before, 00:02:13.56\00:02:16.50 but that fell through. 00:02:16.53\00:02:18.20 And so the next year, we just forgot about that 00:02:18.23\00:02:21.74 when somebody called and wanted us to relieve 00:02:21.77\00:02:23.54 some missionaries on the border while they are going for Laos. 00:02:23.57\00:02:26.88 So we would take care of a school there 00:02:26.91\00:02:28.81 on the border just for three months. 00:02:28.84\00:02:30.25 Just for three months? 00:02:30.28\00:02:31.41 But we fell in love with the Karen people 00:02:31.45\00:02:33.78 and understood their oppression. 00:02:33.82\00:02:35.52 And the difficulties that they face, 00:02:35.55\00:02:38.12 just dramatic past. 00:02:38.15\00:02:39.79 And we fell so much in love with them, 00:02:39.82\00:02:41.86 we wanted to spend our lives to help and work with them. 00:02:41.89\00:02:44.63 So three months became a lifetime? 00:02:44.66\00:02:46.70 Yes. Okay. 00:02:46.73\00:02:48.50 Well, let's look at the next picture. 00:02:48.53\00:02:50.00 This is my kitchen. 00:02:50.03\00:02:51.67 When I first moved in, 00:02:51.70\00:02:53.07 I had really absolutely nothing. 00:02:53.10\00:02:55.34 And we cooked outside. 00:02:55.37\00:02:57.34 My son was better at that than me. 00:02:57.37\00:03:00.08 I was a disaster. 00:03:00.11\00:03:01.28 Sometimes the rocks would fall on the pot, would tip over. 00:03:01.31\00:03:03.88 Right when it was about to be finished, 00:03:03.91\00:03:05.68 but he did better than me and... 00:03:05.71\00:03:08.65 For some time we did that. 00:03:08.68\00:03:10.29 But I noticed that every single day 00:03:10.32\00:03:14.46 I would give whatever I had. 00:03:14.49\00:03:15.89 I give food, I give clothes, soap 00:03:15.92\00:03:18.66 and then what little bit of medical supplies I had. 00:03:18.69\00:03:21.46 I had what I needed to do something 00:03:21.50\00:03:23.33 for every person that came. 00:03:23.37\00:03:24.67 And as I gave like that, the Lord gave to me. 00:03:24.70\00:03:28.40 And so, gradually step by step, we really got into the supplies 00:03:28.44\00:03:32.61 that we needed to give to the people there 00:03:32.64\00:03:34.74 and our supplies grew. 00:03:34.78\00:03:36.88 And the more we gave, the more we received. 00:03:36.91\00:03:39.01 Yeah, so as you helped the people, 00:03:39.05\00:03:41.12 you have exactly what you need to help each person 00:03:41.15\00:03:43.79 and beyond that the Lord keeps providing, 00:03:43.82\00:03:45.72 That's right. 00:03:45.75\00:03:46.76 keeps providing so you can help more. 00:03:46.79\00:03:47.82 And finally I gave my last coat away 00:03:47.86\00:03:49.22 and the cold season was coming 00:03:49.26\00:03:50.83 and I thought, oh, I don't have another coat. 00:03:50.86\00:03:52.86 And it was just the next week, my sister was worried about me 00:03:52.89\00:03:56.10 in the mountains and the cold 00:03:56.13\00:03:57.37 and she mailed me a nice jacket. 00:03:57.40\00:03:59.47 God cares about every single particular. 00:03:59.50\00:04:02.00 Yeah, everything, everything. 00:04:02.04\00:04:03.97 All right. Well, let's continue. 00:04:04.01\00:04:05.94 This is quite a different look from the previous look. 00:04:05.97\00:04:09.01 Yes, we are skipping about almost four years 00:04:09.04\00:04:12.11 of work in biota. 00:04:12.15\00:04:13.95 It's just two people now working, 00:04:13.98\00:04:15.98 my helper and me and the Lord really blessed. 00:04:16.02\00:04:19.22 We thought, we shouldn't take care of all these patients 00:04:19.25\00:04:21.66 in the center of our home. 00:04:21.69\00:04:22.92 And so, we need to build another 00:04:22.96\00:04:25.16 little small square just set enough 00:04:25.19\00:04:27.56 to treat patients in there. 00:04:27.60\00:04:29.03 But somehow that's not God's plan. 00:04:29.06\00:04:30.80 And so as we thought about it, we had to change our location 00:04:30.83\00:04:34.10 three times. 00:04:34.14\00:04:35.24 And the last time, we were gonna put our house 00:04:35.27\00:04:37.24 in a little clinic, separate, but the mountain is so steep, 00:04:37.27\00:04:40.51 there's no way to put anything. 00:04:40.54\00:04:42.21 And miraculously a bulldozer came from the government 00:04:42.24\00:04:45.58 to fix the road 00:04:45.61\00:04:46.68 which hasn't happened since we've been there. 00:04:46.72\00:04:48.48 And our villagers got them to come and do this area. 00:04:48.52\00:04:52.29 And the day before the builder came, 00:04:52.32\00:04:54.19 he flattened out that place and we decided, 00:04:54.22\00:04:56.93 we have to put the two together, 00:04:56.96\00:04:58.43 the house and the clinic. 00:04:58.46\00:04:59.76 And so the plans just developed 00:04:59.79\00:05:01.73 and then we don't know about blueprints, 00:05:01.76\00:05:03.57 but now that we're here, it's perfect for our needs. 00:05:03.60\00:05:05.83 We live on one side and the clinic 00:05:05.87\00:05:07.64 and storeroom on the other side. 00:05:07.67\00:05:09.47 Even we have solar, if you can see these panels on the side. 00:05:09.50\00:05:12.71 We used to have to take our nebulizer treatment 00:05:12.74\00:05:15.08 for pneumonia and asthma patients 00:05:15.11\00:05:17.31 to a village house, 00:05:17.35\00:05:18.55 so we could give them a breathing treatment. 00:05:18.58\00:05:20.72 So somebody donated us right when we finished that, 00:05:20.75\00:05:24.02 enough money to get that state of the art solar system 00:05:24.05\00:05:26.86 and we do all our own treatments. 00:05:26.89\00:05:28.36 Yeah, and so now you could have refrigeration 00:05:28.39\00:05:30.79 for some of the medicines. 00:05:30.83\00:05:32.13 Yes, we have a small refrigerator 00:05:32.16\00:05:33.96 and lights and fans in there. 00:05:34.00\00:05:35.46 Oh, that's good. 00:05:35.50\00:05:36.50 Well, let's look at the... Oh, there's the truck. 00:05:36.53\00:05:38.57 Yes, I want to tell you about this truck. 00:05:38.60\00:05:40.54 It has been a faithful, wonderful truck 00:05:40.57\00:05:42.70 in that building that you saw. 00:05:42.74\00:05:44.27 It carried every bit of the material 00:05:44.31\00:05:45.94 to build that building. 00:05:45.97\00:05:47.01 The roads are terrible 00:05:47.04\00:05:48.88 and it's greater than a 20 percent grade, 00:05:48.91\00:05:51.51 that get a little better every year, 00:05:51.55\00:05:53.05 but even now people from America 00:05:53.08\00:05:55.02 they come are very scared. 00:05:55.05\00:05:56.48 And it's very bad, 00:05:56.52\00:05:57.59 it doesn't even look like a road sometimes. 00:05:57.62\00:05:59.22 And so to carry a heavy load all the time in that truck, 00:05:59.25\00:06:02.92 which is a small truck, 00:06:02.96\00:06:04.26 I'm told it's not meant to do heavy work like that. 00:06:04.29\00:06:06.76 It's done very well. It's worn out. 00:06:06.80\00:06:09.10 But now it's worn out. 00:06:09.13\00:06:10.97 We've changed the four wheel drive four times 00:06:11.00\00:06:12.77 and it's not working now. 00:06:12.80\00:06:14.04 And the front wheels won't even go around, so it stays there. 00:06:14.07\00:06:18.01 Even in the rainy season we can't take it out. 00:06:18.04\00:06:20.74 So you can't even get rid of it? 00:06:20.78\00:06:22.04 Right. 00:06:22.08\00:06:23.11 Because you can't get it out of the mountains. 00:06:23.14\00:06:24.58 It seems like it's just worn out. 00:06:24.61\00:06:26.35 Now tell me, to get to your village by truck, 00:06:26.38\00:06:29.42 how long does it take in the dry season? 00:06:29.45\00:06:32.12 Okay, in the dry season it was 4.5 hours. 00:06:32.15\00:06:35.72 But each year the monks are putting pavement down 00:06:35.76\00:06:38.36 on the main highway side. 00:06:38.39\00:06:40.26 And their goal is to get it all the way to a pagoda 00:06:40.30\00:06:42.76 which is half-way in. 00:06:42.80\00:06:44.07 So now, each year it's gotten better 00:06:44.10\00:06:46.37 because there's more concrete. 00:06:46.40\00:06:48.00 And even though it's still very steep. 00:06:48.04\00:06:49.64 Sometimes on the concrete part 00:06:49.67\00:06:50.84 I wonder how we made it, when it wasn't concrete. 00:06:50.87\00:06:53.07 Yeah. 00:06:53.11\00:06:54.11 Because it's kind of scary with... 00:06:54.14\00:06:55.18 It's still very steep. 00:06:55.21\00:06:56.51 Trucks that aren't working right have crashed. 00:06:56.54\00:06:59.01 It's been bad. 00:06:59.05\00:07:00.15 So you don't want anything to go wrong 00:07:00.18\00:07:01.92 with your truck on those places. 00:07:01.95\00:07:03.52 But now it's a little quicker, 00:07:03.55\00:07:04.69 probably 2.5 or 3 hours we can make it, 00:07:04.72\00:07:07.19 if we don't have to stop for the wild elephants. 00:07:07.22\00:07:09.49 And that's becoming a bigger problem. 00:07:09.52\00:07:10.86 It's a big problem. 00:07:10.89\00:07:12.13 And they charge the vehicles. 00:07:12.16\00:07:13.63 Yes, up to a year ago it wasn't a problem, 00:07:13.66\00:07:16.30 but some wild elephants broke loose. 00:07:16.33\00:07:18.20 And there's female elephants that have been trained 00:07:18.23\00:07:20.47 all around us and they all got together, 00:07:20.50\00:07:22.77 so there was about 18. 00:07:22.80\00:07:24.87 And so then it was like a stampede 00:07:24.91\00:07:26.61 and people are terrorized 00:07:26.64\00:07:28.21 because people have been killed and others wounded. 00:07:28.24\00:07:31.18 And as you come around a blind corner, 00:07:31.21\00:07:32.91 you don't know what to expect. 00:07:32.95\00:07:34.62 Wow. You can hear them sometimes. 00:07:34.65\00:07:36.02 If you're coming home at night, 00:07:36.05\00:07:37.19 you can hear the elephant sound trumpeting. 00:07:37.22\00:07:39.95 So that's dry season? Yes. 00:07:39.99\00:07:41.96 So what about rainy season in a truck? 00:07:41.99\00:07:44.03 Well, rainy season, the truck doesn't go anywhere. 00:07:44.06\00:07:46.70 It cannot go. 00:07:46.73\00:07:48.16 Even when four-wheel drive's working right? 00:07:48.20\00:07:49.66 Oh, yes. Even when... 00:07:49.70\00:07:50.73 It won't go at all, so... 00:07:50.77\00:07:52.70 Because the roads are just slick. 00:07:52.73\00:07:55.00 Yeah, they are total mud and steep drop offs. 00:07:55.04\00:07:58.47 It's all the mountain, very steep 00:07:58.51\00:08:00.41 and it might get very thick. 00:08:00.44\00:08:02.51 Through the rainy season, then you take a motorbike. 00:08:02.54\00:08:05.01 We walk, we walk. 00:08:05.05\00:08:06.15 You walk. Okay. 00:08:06.18\00:08:07.52 How long does it take you to walk? 00:08:07.55\00:08:08.85 Three days a week we walk to villages. 00:08:08.88\00:08:12.42 We have a schedule, so that people know 00:08:12.45\00:08:14.59 when we're not gonna be home for them 00:08:14.62\00:08:16.52 and we go to other villages. 00:08:16.56\00:08:17.86 And most of the villages are an hour and half away, 00:08:17.89\00:08:19.93 some two hours. 00:08:19.96\00:08:21.06 By hiking. One way. 00:08:21.10\00:08:22.23 And so we carry the medicine on our back and we go 00:08:22.26\00:08:24.87 and hope we have enough 00:08:24.90\00:08:26.57 and treat the patients and come back. 00:08:26.60\00:08:28.30 But to get out of biota to the main highway. 00:08:28.34\00:08:32.07 How long does that take? We walk 6.5 hours. 00:08:32.11\00:08:34.21 Six and half hours. 00:08:34.24\00:08:35.31 And we bring hardly anything with us 00:08:35.34\00:08:37.18 because we don't want too much on our backs. 00:08:37.21\00:08:38.78 To carry it for 6.5 hours. 00:08:38.81\00:08:40.78 And God's wonderful miracle to us, 00:08:40.82\00:08:42.42 the children of Israel didn't, their shoes didn't wear out, 00:08:42.45\00:08:44.55 but for me my shoes wore out, but my feet never wore out. 00:08:44.59\00:08:47.76 I never had a crack or a sore place on my feet all through, 00:08:47.79\00:08:52.26 all the rainy seasons and we walk, walk, walk. 00:08:52.29\00:08:54.93 Through that much mud, 00:08:54.93\00:08:56.10 you're likely to get sores on your feet and leeches and... 00:08:56.13\00:08:58.23 Oh, everybody does. We're in the mud all the time. 00:08:58.27\00:09:01.10 Our feet are always wet and muddy. 00:09:01.14\00:09:04.11 So the three times a week that you go to other villages, 00:09:04.14\00:09:06.74 you walk always or do you sometimes 00:09:06.78\00:09:09.34 have a motorbike you can take or? 00:09:09.38\00:09:10.88 Yes, we have a motorbike we can take 00:09:10.91\00:09:12.58 and when the roads are dry enough. 00:09:12.61\00:09:13.98 Some of the villages have better roads going to them, 00:09:14.02\00:09:16.35 so motorbike can make it in. 00:09:16.38\00:09:17.79 So we don't walk quite as many now as we used to. 00:09:17.82\00:09:20.22 But the motorbike is great 00:09:20.26\00:09:21.89 because then you can stuff all the medicine and take more 00:09:21.92\00:09:24.43 'cause children need different kinds of things 00:09:24.46\00:09:26.86 and it's usually liquids. 00:09:26.90\00:09:28.20 So it's heavier and IVs, we never bring 00:09:28.23\00:09:31.07 unless there's an emergency and then we do. 00:09:31.10\00:09:33.13 And you said you have 50 villages around you. 00:09:33.17\00:09:35.17 How many do you actually go to? 00:09:35.20\00:09:36.74 Karen Biota there's ten. 00:09:36.77\00:09:37.97 Biota and WaSuTa are closely... Really close together. 00:09:38.01\00:09:39.91 There is ten. 00:09:39.94\00:09:41.01 So we figure that every village that we could go to, 00:09:41.04\00:09:44.25 we could reach ten more villages. 00:09:44.28\00:09:45.91 So I've gone, I know God's working on this plan 00:09:45.95\00:09:49.05 is to have more team workers 00:09:49.08\00:09:50.59 that we can split and start another clinic 00:09:50.62\00:09:53.76 and area and reach ten more villages. 00:09:53.79\00:09:56.46 Now explain this picture to us. 00:09:56.49\00:09:58.16 He's got something quite interesting behind his ear. 00:09:58.19\00:10:00.76 Yes. 00:10:00.80\00:10:01.86 These poor people, they kind of, 00:10:01.90\00:10:04.30 have dependent on opium 00:10:04.33\00:10:06.40 to bring them some money, it's terribly illegal. 00:10:06.43\00:10:08.74 They get shot for it. 00:10:08.77\00:10:09.94 Soldiers come in every year 00:10:09.97\00:10:11.51 to try to arrest people or shoot them, 00:10:11.54\00:10:14.14 but yet they are addicted to opium. 00:10:14.18\00:10:16.24 This man, he's got 00:10:16.28\00:10:17.81 a full syringe of opium behind his ear 00:10:17.85\00:10:20.52 and they can't keep track of their homes, 00:10:20.55\00:10:22.75 they can't grow their rice gardens. 00:10:22.78\00:10:24.55 Many get depressed and kill themselves. 00:10:24.59\00:10:26.39 They are so addicted. 00:10:26.42\00:10:28.92 It's our biggest problem to free them 00:10:28.96\00:10:31.09 from that habit and to help them. 00:10:31.13\00:10:33.50 Here's where opium takes you. 00:10:33.53\00:10:34.86 This man is Dupey. It was a miracle. 00:10:34.93\00:10:37.03 I was there in biota at the time this happened. 00:10:37.07\00:10:40.40 We were supposed to go to another village, 00:10:40.44\00:10:42.54 but somebody came to our house and said, 00:10:42.57\00:10:45.24 somebody has shot themselves and they lie dead. 00:10:45.27\00:10:47.94 And so I thought, what do I need, 00:10:47.98\00:10:50.15 just probably a stethoscope, maybe nebulizer for cough. 00:10:50.18\00:10:53.21 But we went and the guy was alive 00:10:53.25\00:10:55.62 and he had a blood pressure and he was breathing. 00:10:55.65\00:10:58.65 So I go, we need to just take him to the hospital. 00:10:58.69\00:11:01.59 We barely got him to the hospital in time 00:11:01.62\00:11:03.59 and we prayed for him. 00:11:03.63\00:11:05.36 We prayed night and day for him. 00:11:05.39\00:11:07.93 So he had shot himself as a result of depression 00:11:07.96\00:11:11.13 associated with taking opium? 00:11:11.17\00:11:12.73 Opium. 00:11:12.77\00:11:13.84 I don't know the kind of gun, 00:11:13.87\00:11:15.07 but the doctor removed nine bullets 00:11:15.10\00:11:17.37 from his head and this part of his skull is gone. 00:11:17.41\00:11:21.11 And he said, the man is lucky to be alive 00:11:21.14\00:11:23.78 but he won't be able to work for a year. 00:11:23.81\00:11:25.98 And he came back and was working in six months. 00:11:26.01\00:11:28.75 And the guy had heard his little girl screaming 00:11:28.78\00:11:32.22 after he shot himself. 00:11:32.25\00:11:33.32 His youngest daughter loved him the most. 00:11:33.36\00:11:35.36 And he remembered hearing the little girl cry like that 00:11:35.39\00:11:38.13 and he thought she would die. 00:11:38.16\00:11:39.69 And he was so scared, he said, 00:11:39.73\00:11:40.96 I'll never do opium again if I live. 00:11:40.96\00:11:42.80 Oh. 00:11:42.83\00:11:44.07 And so now he is back and now he is so thankful for his life. 00:11:44.10\00:11:48.67 And we go every Monday night and we do Bible studies 00:11:48.70\00:11:51.74 and surrounding villagers come. 00:11:51.77\00:11:53.27 And the good news is that 00:11:53.31\00:11:54.84 many of them want to join the church 00:11:54.88\00:11:56.24 and be baptized and they are leaning now. 00:11:56.28\00:11:58.11 Wow. 00:11:58.15\00:11:59.21 But he needs your prayers because everybody does opium 00:11:59.25\00:12:01.55 and it's still a treat. 00:12:01.58\00:12:02.82 Okay. We have quite a picture here. 00:12:02.85\00:12:05.19 Now who is that in the picture? 00:12:05.22\00:12:06.86 Well, that's me 00:12:06.89\00:12:07.89 and I've got the backpack of medicine on my pack, 00:12:07.92\00:12:10.49 I'm walking to villages in the rain, 00:12:10.53\00:12:12.19 it doesn't necessarily have to be that hard, 00:12:12.23\00:12:14.46 but water is coming from every direction 00:12:14.46\00:12:16.83 because in the rainy season it doesn't just rain, 00:12:16.87\00:12:19.23 it's like Olympic size swimming pool 00:12:19.27\00:12:21.37 opened out on your head, it really pours. 00:12:21.40\00:12:23.54 And so mountains slide down. 00:12:23.57\00:12:26.68 And this particular place, 00:12:26.71\00:12:28.14 this is how we have to go Nelaug another village 00:12:28.18\00:12:30.38 and the mountain slide had just gotten into this small stream 00:12:30.41\00:12:34.12 which turn into a river and it's all quicksand. 00:12:34.15\00:12:36.79 Oh. 00:12:36.82\00:12:37.89 So it's a real challenge and it's a very flimsy bridge 00:12:37.92\00:12:40.69 we have to go to get across it. 00:12:40.72\00:12:42.76 And actually it got worse later, 00:12:42.79\00:12:44.26 but I didn't know it, but Blega, my co-worker 00:12:44.29\00:12:48.00 took a video when I crossed this one. 00:12:48.03\00:12:49.93 That board underneath there's a tree and it's loose. 00:12:49.96\00:12:53.10 It's just there because the water pressure is 00:12:53.13\00:12:55.20 pushing it against those little post. 00:12:55.24\00:12:57.17 Yeah. Those post that they have... 00:12:57.21\00:12:58.27 So let's watch the video. 00:12:58.31\00:12:59.37 Wow. 00:13:04.95\00:13:08.15 We're down. 00:13:08.18\00:13:09.35 He crossed it easier than I do, but he always does. 00:13:12.35\00:13:15.06 Yeah. 00:13:15.09\00:13:17.16 You're so surefooted. 00:13:17.19\00:13:18.43 Can I step right here, okay? 00:13:18.46\00:13:19.76 I think so. 00:13:19.79\00:13:21.06 Oop, you stepped off the log. 00:13:23.83\00:13:25.20 Yeah, it popped out. Yeah, see. 00:13:25.23\00:13:27.90 That place is a little difficult 00:13:27.94\00:13:29.60 because one girl got her foot off of it 00:13:29.64\00:13:32.21 and her leg went in and she couldn't hardly get it back 00:13:32.24\00:13:34.84 and she lost her shoe. 00:13:34.88\00:13:36.14 And after this it got worse. 00:13:36.18\00:13:37.78 But God rewards. 00:13:37.81\00:13:39.05 Yes, and I would climb any mountain. 00:13:39.08\00:13:40.95 I would be covered with leeches many times 00:13:40.98\00:13:43.39 to be able to reach these people. 00:13:43.42\00:13:44.85 This is the one reward of all of that 00:13:44.89\00:13:47.42 it makes everything so worthwhile. 00:13:47.46\00:13:50.29 This man's name is Chadrey and he has rectal cancer. 00:13:50.33\00:13:54.10 And I found that out when I took him to a hospital, 00:13:54.10\00:13:56.83 but nothing could be done about it right away. 00:13:56.87\00:14:00.30 He went back home and then he had a blocked bowel. 00:14:00.34\00:14:02.97 And I knew it, 00:14:03.00\00:14:04.17 I had to get him out but I was alone. 00:14:04.21\00:14:06.01 And he was in an emergency because a blocked bowel, 00:14:06.04\00:14:09.94 I mean the stomach is regurgitated, 00:14:09.98\00:14:11.35 it's a real emergency. 00:14:11.38\00:14:12.68 But we had to walk out in the rain. 00:14:12.71\00:14:14.65 We had to walk two hours up a mountain, him sick. 00:14:14.68\00:14:18.19 When we got to the top finally after two hours, 00:14:18.22\00:14:20.86 I looked at my feet and the leeches were 00:14:20.89\00:14:22.76 all waving up in the air like hairs all over my feet. 00:14:22.79\00:14:25.63 Oh. It's quite interesting. 00:14:25.66\00:14:27.50 And then we got him to the hospital, 00:14:27.50\00:14:29.60 but I had to go to four different hospitals 00:14:29.63\00:14:31.23 before I could get him to have help. 00:14:31.27\00:14:33.30 And then they didn't think it was an emergency 00:14:33.34\00:14:35.27 and wanted to send me to another hospital. 00:14:35.30\00:14:36.94 Finally, the doctor said, well, I've taken x-ray 00:14:36.97\00:14:38.94 and if it's an emergency, of course he will stay, 00:14:38.97\00:14:40.81 but otherwise you have to go. 00:14:40.84\00:14:42.31 And I'm praying, he took the x-ray and couldn't read it, 00:14:42.34\00:14:45.08 called somebody else and they said, 00:14:45.11\00:14:46.21 this is an emergency, 00:14:46.25\00:14:47.48 we've got to take him to surgery right away. 00:14:47.52\00:14:49.28 And so they took him and he's still alive, 00:14:49.32\00:14:52.35 although he hasn't got all the cancer removed. 00:14:52.39\00:14:54.46 But we're praying for him and you can see him here, 00:14:54.49\00:14:56.56 this is a recent photo 00:14:56.59\00:14:58.13 and that was two and half years ago. 00:14:58.16\00:15:00.66 So he's still there and he is so interested in God. 00:15:00.70\00:15:04.40 He's had us remove all the devil strings 00:15:04.43\00:15:07.14 that they tie around themselves to serve the devil. 00:15:07.17\00:15:09.87 They stopped worshiping the devil. 00:15:09.90\00:15:11.51 They had us take out all of the idols 00:15:11.54\00:15:13.94 and everything, they had us put a Bible. 00:15:13.98\00:15:15.84 They can't read but they had us put a Bible in there. 00:15:15.88\00:15:18.11 And he said, yesterday we worshiped the devil, 00:15:18.15\00:15:20.85 but today we worship God. 00:15:20.88\00:15:22.78 Praise the Lord. He listens to the worship. 00:15:22.82\00:15:25.42 It's hard for the people to understand the Karen Bible 00:15:25.45\00:15:28.02 because they have a different accent 00:15:28.06\00:15:30.36 and dialect from the border and so we have to explain. 00:15:30.39\00:15:34.00 But one time we talked about heaven and he said, 00:15:34.03\00:15:36.13 "How will I know the way 00:15:36.16\00:15:37.63 if I don't know how to get there 00:15:37.67\00:15:38.97 to check that heaven? 00:15:39.00\00:15:40.14 Wow. 00:15:40.17\00:15:41.20 So that makes it all worth it, all the leeches? 00:15:41.24\00:15:42.67 It's so good. 00:15:42.70\00:15:43.74 And he's influential in his village 00:15:43.77\00:15:45.24 because five other families who want to worship God too. 00:15:45.27\00:15:47.71 In fact some of them are trying to keep the Sabbath, 00:15:47.74\00:15:50.41 but they don't know how. 00:15:50.45\00:15:52.45 And they want us to build a church and a school 00:15:52.48\00:15:54.98 and they want me there to take care of their health, 00:15:55.02\00:15:57.45 but we can't do anything unless we get another team of workers 00:15:57.49\00:16:01.49 and the ability to do that. 00:16:01.52\00:16:03.06 But we go as often as we can and we have worship with them. 00:16:03.09\00:16:06.36 And praise the Lord, that's awesome. 00:16:06.39\00:16:07.86 Yes. This is our worship group at one day with them. 00:16:07.86\00:16:10.27 All the children? 00:16:10.30\00:16:11.53 Yes, the children are special. This is another village. 00:16:11.57\00:16:14.04 This lady that has... 00:16:14.07\00:16:15.64 is holding the baby next to me. 00:16:15.67\00:16:17.31 Her name is Sheepa 00:16:17.34\00:16:19.04 and three years ago she was dying 00:16:19.07\00:16:21.61 and we didn't know it. 00:16:21.64\00:16:23.51 We were gonna go to another village that day, 00:16:23.55\00:16:25.38 but the Lord always puts us where we need to be, 00:16:25.41\00:16:28.25 when we need to be there. 00:16:28.28\00:16:29.45 And our plans totally changed and we went to her village, 00:16:29.48\00:16:32.12 and we had to go back and get the truck, 00:16:32.15\00:16:34.29 and it was hard to get to her, 00:16:34.32\00:16:35.99 but we got her to the hospital in time. 00:16:36.02\00:16:37.63 She stayed in hospital three weeks 00:16:37.66\00:16:39.56 and then came back well. 00:16:39.59\00:16:41.63 And so she loves us now. 00:16:41.66\00:16:44.50 And the lady on the other side of me is her mother. 00:16:44.53\00:16:47.60 And this whole family wants to worship God. 00:16:47.64\00:16:50.71 And the next picture is my most favorite moment 00:16:50.74\00:16:54.11 that I have out there. 00:16:54.14\00:16:55.98 She had us cut the devil strings 00:16:56.01\00:16:58.21 off of her and all her children. 00:16:58.25\00:17:00.42 They tie them around the ankles, the waist, 00:17:00.45\00:17:02.62 the wrists and the neck. 00:17:02.65\00:17:04.52 And people out there actually worship the devil. 00:17:04.55\00:17:07.39 So now she is trying to learn about God 00:17:07.42\00:17:10.79 and slowly and simply we teach them. 00:17:10.83\00:17:13.63 Her mother also almost died just recently. 00:17:13.66\00:17:16.43 Same thing and it was a big miracle 00:17:16.46\00:17:18.53 because I couldn't bring about just one IV 00:17:18.57\00:17:21.24 and I had some medicine 00:17:21.27\00:17:22.57 but, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea for days 00:17:22.60\00:17:25.61 and that can kill you in one day, 00:17:25.64\00:17:27.34 the type she had. 00:17:27.38\00:17:28.54 But I gave her all I could give her 00:17:28.58\00:17:30.88 and started on IV and prayed for her. 00:17:30.91\00:17:33.42 And by the time we treated the patients in the village, 00:17:33.45\00:17:36.08 and ate and then had worship with them. 00:17:36.12\00:17:39.35 She came out to hear worship 00:17:39.39\00:17:40.72 and she hadn't walked for several days. 00:17:40.76\00:17:42.92 And then when we left on the motorcycle, 00:17:42.96\00:17:44.56 she came out all smiling. 00:17:44.59\00:17:46.06 Her stomach doesn't hurt anymore. 00:17:46.09\00:17:47.46 Praise the Lord. 00:17:47.50\00:17:48.50 So I prayed for these dear people. 00:17:48.53\00:17:49.53 They learned very slowly, but God understands that. 00:17:49.56\00:17:52.77 Yes, He does. 00:17:52.80\00:17:53.94 He brings healing. 00:17:53.97\00:17:55.04 Time after time I know it's not me 00:17:55.07\00:17:57.41 and it's not normal for them 00:17:57.44\00:17:58.74 to get well that fast, the Lord does it. 00:17:58.77\00:18:00.28 That's neat. So what's this picture? 00:18:00.31\00:18:02.01 That is our worship group at her house, 00:18:02.04\00:18:03.78 just recently we met with those people. 00:18:03.81\00:18:06.58 Their clothes are all over in one place, 00:18:06.61\00:18:08.92 that's how they get their clothes. 00:18:08.95\00:18:10.35 Every season it's harsh for these people. 00:18:10.39\00:18:12.69 The hot weather is very hot 00:18:12.72\00:18:15.52 and the cold weather is very cold 00:18:15.56\00:18:17.49 and the children are always sick. 00:18:17.53\00:18:19.29 The rainy season is of course the worst 00:18:19.33\00:18:21.43 with pneumonias and asthmas. 00:18:21.46\00:18:23.30 You know, that's how they live and this is an example. 00:18:23.33\00:18:25.50 This is Vimo. 00:18:25.53\00:18:26.87 When he was born, he and his mother were both in trouble, 00:18:26.90\00:18:29.57 but the Lord saved them out of that. 00:18:29.60\00:18:31.61 But now this baby has asthma and it's very bad. 00:18:31.64\00:18:34.94 He was blue the first time they brought him to me. 00:18:34.98\00:18:36.95 And so I really, really gave him everything that I had 00:18:36.98\00:18:40.75 and the breathing treatment. 00:18:40.78\00:18:41.88 And so gradually I've tried to give him more nutrition 00:18:41.92\00:18:45.35 and vitamins and supplements and he's gained weight 00:18:45.39\00:18:48.89 and his asthma is getting less and less. 00:18:48.92\00:18:51.26 And they know what to do at the first sign of a cold 00:18:51.29\00:18:54.30 or a problem. 00:18:54.30\00:18:55.40 And they are the part of the group 00:18:55.43\00:18:56.53 that worshipped with us. 00:18:56.56\00:18:57.87 And the next picture shows you how good he looks. 00:18:57.90\00:19:00.64 Oh, what a cutie. 00:19:00.67\00:19:02.04 Yeah, he's one of the favorites. 00:19:02.07\00:19:03.71 His mother also had mastitis worst 00:19:03.74\00:19:05.91 than I've ever seen it before. 00:19:05.94\00:19:07.41 I had to leave one antibiotic and use two others 00:19:07.44\00:19:10.35 that another doctor had suggested to me 00:19:10.38\00:19:12.78 because it was so bad. 00:19:12.81\00:19:14.95 And now she's well. 00:19:14.98\00:19:16.79 She just got over that here in this picture. 00:19:16.82\00:19:18.75 That's a beautiful family. Wow. 00:19:18.79\00:19:20.39 That's wonderful. 00:19:20.42\00:19:21.86 You know, here's another older lady. 00:19:21.89\00:19:23.29 Yes, I thought I would briefly tell the story 00:19:23.32\00:19:26.76 of a wonderful miracle that God worked for the elderly 00:19:26.80\00:19:31.40 because He cares for the young and the old. 00:19:31.43\00:19:34.44 And this young man in the red shirt 00:19:34.47\00:19:37.14 came to me one night and I was all alone in biota, 00:19:37.17\00:19:40.68 and he said, his grandmother was sick 00:19:40.71\00:19:43.04 and could I go see her. 00:19:43.08\00:19:44.08 Well, it was raining. 00:19:44.11\00:19:45.18 This is this rainy season. 00:19:45.21\00:19:46.68 And it's raining really hard and I think, 00:19:46.72\00:19:49.48 I don't want to do that 00:19:49.52\00:19:50.52 and I don't have an interpreter. 00:19:50.55\00:19:51.95 And, so this is kind of hard. But I said, well, what's wrong? 00:19:51.99\00:19:54.39 And he said, well, she swallowed a piece of meat 00:19:54.42\00:19:56.52 and it got lodged in her throat and she can't get rid of it. 00:19:56.56\00:20:00.03 Well, how long has it been? 00:20:00.06\00:20:01.20 Well, it's been three full days. 00:20:01.23\00:20:02.83 Oh. 00:20:02.86\00:20:04.00 So now, I'm really uncomfortable with this 00:20:04.03\00:20:05.73 because this is an emergency. 00:20:05.77\00:20:07.74 If it doesn't go down on its own in 24 hours, 00:20:07.77\00:20:10.47 they should seek medical help immediately. 00:20:10.51\00:20:13.04 Well, it's the rainy season. 00:20:13.07\00:20:14.78 Even if it were dry that lady wouldn't go 00:20:14.81\00:20:16.58 because she is scared of motorcycles and trucks, 00:20:16.61\00:20:19.01 never been on them, 00:20:19.05\00:20:20.08 but they want me to go that night. 00:20:20.12\00:20:22.22 I have the night to pray about it. 00:20:22.25\00:20:24.25 And so, as I'm praying I thought, 00:20:24.29\00:20:26.32 I want to go to the school next door, 00:20:26.35\00:20:28.06 sometimes they have internet. 00:20:28.09\00:20:30.29 And sometimes, usually my computer 00:20:30.33\00:20:32.33 doesn't pick up on that internet. 00:20:32.36\00:20:34.20 And it's very, very hard to get internet that far out, 00:20:34.20\00:20:36.97 but I went to the school and I got on internet. 00:20:37.00\00:20:39.97 And so I emailed my sister and I asked her, 00:20:40.00\00:20:42.44 if she could please pray for this lady and for me 00:20:42.47\00:20:44.74 because it's way beyond my capabilities. 00:20:44.77\00:20:47.38 These people go to gastroenterologist. 00:20:47.41\00:20:50.01 They have sections and they have cameras 00:20:50.05\00:20:53.21 and special instruments 00:20:53.25\00:20:54.55 and even then the esophagus could tear 00:20:54.58\00:20:57.49 and the person would bleed to death 00:20:57.52\00:20:58.89 even in a hospital. 00:20:58.92\00:21:00.42 Otherwise they can push it down, 00:21:00.46\00:21:01.79 but they have to push it to the left 00:21:01.82\00:21:02.96 or it will block the trachea. 00:21:02.99\00:21:04.43 And to have a blocked trachea 00:21:04.46\00:21:05.63 is worse than a blocked esophagus. 00:21:05.66\00:21:07.50 And this lady hasn't eaten or drunk 00:21:07.50\00:21:08.96 anything for three days. 00:21:09.00\00:21:10.53 And the next day I go, that will be the fourth day. 00:21:10.57\00:21:12.77 So Lean, I told my sister please pray. 00:21:12.80\00:21:15.10 And Sunday morning that young man and his brother, 00:21:15.14\00:21:18.34 these two young men came to get me 00:21:18.37\00:21:20.58 and it was raining. 00:21:20.61\00:21:21.64 But as soon as we started walking, 00:21:21.68\00:21:23.31 it stopped raining. 00:21:23.35\00:21:24.38 Wow. 00:21:24.41\00:21:25.41 And so we walked all the way there 00:21:25.45\00:21:26.95 and we see this lady well. 00:21:26.98\00:21:29.05 I had collected a few things 00:21:29.08\00:21:31.25 that I thought in my simple mind might help. 00:21:31.29\00:21:34.26 I had a tongue retractor, I got that. 00:21:34.29\00:21:36.86 Then I had a bayonet forcep, which is a long forcep maybe, 00:21:36.89\00:21:40.53 I could maybe get hold of something 00:21:40.56\00:21:42.70 I didn't know, and I had olive oil 00:21:42.73\00:21:45.33 because I thought if she tried to swallow that, 00:21:45.37\00:21:46.90 it might lubricate things and I had a shot for nausea. 00:21:46.94\00:21:50.27 And I think if I give that, 00:21:50.31\00:21:51.44 it's supposed to relax the GI tract. 00:21:51.47\00:21:53.21 So maybe this will relax. 00:21:53.24\00:21:55.11 So I brought that stuff and I walk into this place 00:21:55.14\00:21:57.88 and all the villagers come. 00:21:57.91\00:21:59.51 I had called Blega, my helper 'cause he is gone right now. 00:21:59.55\00:22:03.75 And I say, could you tell this young man 00:22:03.79\00:22:05.42 that this is really serious 00:22:05.45\00:22:06.65 and she could really die from bleeding 00:22:06.69\00:22:08.92 or because I can't remove it or the trachea. 00:22:08.96\00:22:11.83 And he said, oh, they all know, she's old, 00:22:11.86\00:22:13.76 she's supposed to die anyway. 00:22:13.80\00:22:15.13 Wow. 00:22:15.16\00:22:16.16 And so I go in there and people crowd all around. 00:22:16.20\00:22:20.27 And I say, I'm gonna pray because I cannot do this, 00:22:20.30\00:22:24.21 but God can do everything. 00:22:24.24\00:22:26.57 And if He wants to, He will take this out. 00:22:26.61\00:22:30.18 And so I prayed, but I can't pray in Karen, 00:22:30.21\00:22:32.38 but when I finish, 00:22:32.41\00:22:33.45 I can tell them what I prayed about. 00:22:33.48\00:22:35.18 So that's why I told them. 00:22:35.22\00:22:36.82 Then I gave her the shot. 00:22:36.85\00:22:38.29 I made her try to swallow some olive oil. 00:22:38.32\00:22:40.79 I waited 20 minutes for the shot to take effect 00:22:40.82\00:22:43.63 and then I had my retractor and I went in 00:22:43.66\00:22:46.73 and I pulled the tongue back 00:22:46.76\00:22:47.86 and I had my glasses on my face and headlamp on my head 00:22:47.93\00:22:53.13 and I pulled the tongue and I've got the bayonets in, 00:22:53.17\00:22:56.00 I'm going in there and she chokes of course. 00:22:56.04\00:22:58.87 Second time, same thing. 00:22:58.91\00:23:00.28 Go in there, get ready looking, light, and she chokes. 00:23:00.31\00:23:05.41 Okay. 00:23:05.45\00:23:06.48 So then the third time, I did again the same thing 00:23:06.51\00:23:09.82 and she chokes it really, really hard 00:23:09.85\00:23:12.15 and this piece of meat, which is pork nevertheless 00:23:12.19\00:23:15.26 popped right out of her throat. 00:23:15.29\00:23:17.13 Wow. 00:23:17.16\00:23:18.26 And she got rid of it and here they are all so happy. 00:23:18.29\00:23:21.93 And everybody is thanking me and thanking me, I said, 00:23:21.96\00:23:24.60 it's not me you know, God did that. 00:23:24.63\00:23:27.10 You're right. 00:23:27.14\00:23:28.10 So that village needed the encouragement to see, 00:23:28.14\00:23:30.37 we serve a mighty God and He cares for the elderly 00:23:30.41\00:23:33.48 and He cares for me that doesn't know much, 00:23:33.51\00:23:37.35 and He does it all. 00:23:37.38\00:23:38.65 Praise the Lord. That's an awesome story. 00:23:38.68\00:23:40.22 It's a good story. 00:23:40.25\00:23:41.78 Sometimes people come from a long ways away. 00:23:41.82\00:23:45.09 These people, this one day came, 00:23:45.12\00:23:47.89 they are in trucks, two truckloads of patients. 00:23:47.92\00:23:50.59 They passed two clinics to come to me 00:23:50.63\00:23:53.53 and my interpreter asked them. 00:23:53.56\00:23:55.06 "Why did you come here?" 00:23:55.10\00:23:56.33 You know the doctor is there and everything and they say, 00:23:56.36\00:23:59.10 "Well, no, we've heard that people get better 00:23:59.13\00:24:01.04 when they come here." 00:24:01.07\00:24:02.17 Praise the Lord. 00:24:02.20\00:24:03.24 And sometimes people will say, I don't understand, 00:24:03.27\00:24:06.64 my doctor has given me paracetamol, 00:24:06.68\00:24:08.48 it didn't help at all. 00:24:08.51\00:24:09.54 But you give me paracetamol and I'm well. 00:24:09.58\00:24:11.85 So here's this truckload of people 00:24:11.88\00:24:13.52 and I'm just amazed 00:24:13.55\00:24:15.02 because they come and they lay down. 00:24:15.05\00:24:17.25 This lady was terribly sick. 00:24:17.29\00:24:19.19 And the next picture is a man that just really sick. 00:24:19.22\00:24:24.13 And another one just like him 00:24:24.16\00:24:25.19 with the towel tied on his head, 00:24:25.23\00:24:26.56 people laying on the grass, children with fevers, 00:24:26.59\00:24:29.43 stuff that I can't really diagnose without blood work 00:24:29.46\00:24:33.47 and diagnostic procedures. 00:24:33.50\00:24:35.24 So the man was laid out, 00:24:35.27\00:24:37.24 he's got problems with his kidneys, 00:24:37.27\00:24:39.11 with his blood pressure, dehydrated malnourished, 00:24:39.14\00:24:42.91 his bowels, so many things. 00:24:42.94\00:24:45.48 And the other lady had her scarf tied on her face 00:24:45.51\00:24:48.02 and when she let it go, 00:24:48.05\00:24:49.08 she has huge sore across her lip. 00:24:49.12\00:24:51.69 It could have been cancer, but it definitely was 00:24:51.72\00:24:53.86 because she was allergic to pork, 00:24:53.89\00:24:55.42 but couldn't stop eating pork. 00:24:55.46\00:24:57.26 Oh, wow. 00:24:57.29\00:24:58.46 So basically I taught them the eight natural remedies 00:24:58.49\00:25:01.23 and all day we work with these people 00:25:01.26\00:25:03.73 and treated each one as best we could. 00:25:03.77\00:25:06.23 Wow. 00:25:06.27\00:25:07.34 Most of the time in biota, we didn't have electricity 00:25:07.37\00:25:10.47 and we worked with candles. 00:25:10.51\00:25:12.67 Candles were everyday life for us. 00:25:12.71\00:25:14.74 And when patients came, 00:25:14.78\00:25:16.11 this is how we had our medicine in these jars 00:25:16.14\00:25:18.28 and had candles and headlights. 00:25:18.31\00:25:20.92 And I thought of saying that a missionary said one time, 00:25:20.95\00:25:25.02 I heard his words. 00:25:25.05\00:25:26.12 It says, my life is but a candle. 00:25:26.15\00:25:28.52 And I'd rather burn it out in a land filled with darkness, 00:25:28.56\00:25:31.73 than in a land flooded with light. 00:25:31.76\00:25:33.80 And so I just decided in my mind this year that, 00:25:33.83\00:25:38.57 I want my candle to burnout in a land filled with darkness 00:25:38.60\00:25:41.74 and I want to be able to reach these people for God, 00:25:41.77\00:25:44.81 everyone of them. 00:25:44.84\00:25:45.94 I'm so thankful for the work He's given me to do. 00:25:45.97\00:25:49.08 I know you have some financial needs also. 00:25:49.11\00:25:51.15 Why don't we just briefly summarize those? 00:25:51.18\00:25:53.85 I know, you've mentioned the truck. 00:25:53.88\00:25:55.88 So what's the prize of a new? $35,000. 00:25:55.92\00:25:58.35 But you need that out there 'cause... 00:25:58.39\00:25:59.85 We need it so bad. 00:25:59.89\00:26:01.86 So, then what's the next thing besides the vehicle? 00:26:01.89\00:26:04.89 Well, the next thing is my retirement visa. 00:26:04.93\00:26:07.60 You have to have a certain amount of money 00:26:07.60\00:26:09.30 in the bank to be retired there. 00:26:09.33\00:26:11.53 But there's another way I can be retired 00:26:11.57\00:26:13.30 there is to prove I get $2,500 per month. 00:26:13.34\00:26:17.11 And if I prove that just through the US embassy 00:26:17.14\00:26:20.44 by raising my hand to say, it's true. 00:26:20.48\00:26:22.51 Then I can be retired there too. 00:26:22.54\00:26:24.25 And that way, all that money isn't just sitting there 00:26:24.28\00:26:26.75 not used for God's work. 00:26:26.78\00:26:28.52 Right. So that people can help by donating monthly. 00:26:28.55\00:26:31.99 That's what helps me so much. 00:26:32.02\00:26:34.19 Whatever the Lord impresses them with. 00:26:34.22\00:26:36.96 If it's consistent, then I can buy the medicine, 00:26:36.99\00:26:39.66 I can buy the food, I can fuel the truck, 00:26:39.69\00:26:41.66 I can keep it updated with repairs. 00:26:41.70\00:26:44.87 I can just keep giving like I'm giving. 00:26:44.90\00:26:48.10 And then when the Lord provides additional team members 00:26:48.14\00:26:50.57 and you start to build another clinic. 00:26:50.61\00:26:52.37 What's the estimated cost of another clinic? 00:26:52.41\00:26:54.61 Cheaper than the truck, probably 20,000. 00:26:54.64\00:26:57.05 Okay. 00:26:57.08\00:26:58.11 And that's really a nice building. 00:26:58.15\00:26:59.95 We spent less than that on that last building. 00:27:00.05\00:27:02.38 We always think we're gonna do something smaller 00:27:02.42\00:27:04.52 and more simple, so that's the plan. 00:27:04.55\00:27:06.22 And I'd like to start building it now 00:27:06.25\00:27:07.76 because I have faith to know that 00:27:07.79\00:27:09.86 the Lord will send us the workers 00:27:09.89\00:27:11.89 and they can take their positions quickly. 00:27:11.93\00:27:14.00 Right. 00:27:14.00\00:27:15.03 So if people want to donate, 00:27:15.06\00:27:16.97 they donate through Jesus for Asia. 00:27:17.00\00:27:18.80 All I want to express is that we serve a mighty God. 00:27:18.83\00:27:22.80 Well, thank you so much for joining us today. 00:27:22.84\00:27:24.44 Okay. Thank you. 00:27:24.47\00:27:25.51 And I'd like to thank our viewers 00:27:25.54\00:27:27.01 also for joining us. 00:27:27.04\00:27:28.11 And I want to challenge you to get involved. 00:27:28.14\00:27:30.15 Pray for Gayle for her work, for her team. 00:27:30.18\00:27:33.01 Pray for additional team members 00:27:33.05\00:27:34.95 for where she is 00:27:34.98\00:27:35.95 because there are so many un-reached people there. 00:27:35.98\00:27:38.29 Pray for the funds that she needs for her truck 00:27:38.32\00:27:41.06 and pray about what God wants you to do 00:27:41.09\00:27:43.56 to be involved besides just praying 00:27:43.59\00:27:45.73 because He has a place for you, He has a plan for you. 00:27:45.76\00:27:48.60 Maybe He wants you to give to help Gayle. 00:27:48.63\00:27:50.60 Maybe He wants you to be part of the team. 00:27:50.63\00:27:52.77 Maybe He's got a different plan for you, 00:27:52.80\00:27:55.24 but pray and ask God and He will show you. 00:27:55.27\00:27:57.64 May God bless you until we see you again. 00:27:57.67\00:28:00.51 You may send your tax-deductible gift 00:28:00.54\00:28:02.58 to Jesus for Asia, 00:28:02.61\00:28:04.01 PO Box 1221, Collegedale, Tennessee 37315. 00:28:04.05\00:28:10.05 Or you can call us at 423-413-7321. 00:28:10.09\00:28:15.39 But you can also find us on the web at Jesus4asia.org. 00:28:15.42\00:28:19.93
