'07 we realized that,

know the gospel is there

There is actually
fewer Christians in Thailand

per capita than
there is in India.

In India it's about
2.5 percent Christian,

Thailand is about
0.7 percent Christian.

unreached areas in Thailand.

Anyway, so we had been
traveling through Thailand

on our way to India
in different places,

missionaries think of Thailand

as a really great recovery place

or recreational place,
a time to kind of rewind

after you've done
ministry in more remote

or challenging
kind of countries.

And so, we had been going
through Thailand quite a bit.

I had my conversion experience
in Thailand back in 1996.

Actually Cambodia and Thailand,

so Southeast Asia had a
real soft spot in my heart.

time you were overseas

So, Thailand, the
majority of course is Thai,

Southeast Asia has a lot of

burden for the people there.

And so, Lord opened the way
for us to be Jesus for Asia.

love with the Thai people.

They are just sweet
people, and very friendly,

and welcoming to
foreigners and tourists.

So we enjoyed it there,
but we started to have a burden

because, you know,

even though there is
12,000 Adventists in Thailand,

only 1,200 of
those are actually Thai.

We start learning
this kind of statistics

and most of them are foreigners

and so, we're like, well,

what can we do for
these people how can we help.

And we started learning

that there is great
need or lack of resources

for the Thai people
in the Thai language.

and so, what do they

A lot of times
they just won't meet.
