There were so many canals at
one time that Bangkok was known

as the Venice of the East.

They were much more popular
back before all the blacktop

roads were put in, and
they're still faster to some

I first rode a river
taxi in 1969 with my parents,

but I still remember the kids

people living in Bangkok,

reach all those extra people.

burden to proclaim the gospel.

not a missionary.

Because I find that this
attitude that unless I'm paid

by the church, unless I have
the official, you know, card,

and there's a vote in action,
people don't see themselves,

our church members don't see
themselves as the ones who are,

you know, their role
of proclaiming the gospel.

And so here he is a missionary
because he is one who is sent.

God has called him, 1. to be a
Christian, 2. God has called him

to have grace, and to have
mercy, and He's given him all

these showers of blessings.

and to go and send that out

So who is a missionary?

I think that Matthew 28:17-20
is the one that is where I would

like to point people to.

to use that is because Jesus

gathers the twelve disciples to
the mountain, and then they all

fall down and worship Him.

phrase is very key.

We always like to blame Doubting
Thomas as, Well, he's the one.

He's the skeptic among us.

He wants to see things,
evidence, and he wants things

But the Greek there is very

I plateau in our lives today,

world, to go to the globe, and
then to proclaim His message.

message and great commission to?

But the reality

God is working in your heart
to use you in these last days

And God in His sovereignty,

there's going to be a gap there,

to try to work things out.

And so they think, Well, I'm
not a pastor, so what can I do?

paying our tithes
and offerings, and so

Where actually, I think God
is calling each one of us to go

to where He wants us to go.

But does that mean we
neglect the work back home?

And that's where my, how I
resolve that question is like,

focus on Christ, and then Christ

long as they are obedient.

to serve in our homelands,
