¤¤¤ 00:00:00.33\00:00:04.30 ¤¤¤ 00:00:11.31\00:00:14.28 >>Eric Flickinger: Welcome to "Sabbath School," 00:00:14.31\00:00:15.61 brought to you by It Is Written. 00:00:15.64\00:00:17.28 Glad that you're joining us today. 00:00:17.31\00:00:19.21 We are looking at how to study the prophecies of the Bible. 00:00:19.25\00:00:22.98 And this is lesson number nine of 13, an incredible journey 00:00:23.02\00:00:27.76 that we are taking into the prophecies of the Bible 00:00:27.79\00:00:30.89 and how we can better understand them 00:00:30.93\00:00:33.23 and apply them to our lives today. 00:00:33.26\00:00:35.70 We're going to begin with prayer and then dive right in. 00:00:35.73\00:00:38.53 Father, we're grateful to be here today. 00:00:38.57\00:00:40.10 We thank You for drawing us together and drawing 00:00:40.14\00:00:42.50 our attention to what we're going to be looking at today. 00:00:42.54\00:00:45.54 As we do so, we ask that You will bless us, 00:00:45.57\00:00:47.98 and we thank You, in Jesus' name, amen. 00:00:48.01\00:00:51.28 So this week we're looking at part two of understanding 00:00:51.31\00:00:53.98 the Psalms, being in the Psalms 00:00:54.02\00:00:55.32 and seeing how they connect us with the book of Revelation. 00:00:55.35\00:00:57.85 We're being guided and led through this study 00:00:57.89\00:01:00.89 by the author of this quarter's "Sabbath School" lesson, 00:01:00.92\00:01:03.29 Pastor Shawn Boonstra. Shawn, glad you're here. 00:01:03.32\00:01:05.96 >>Shawn Boonstra: Thank you, and it just goes to prove 00:01:05.99\00:01:07.30 they'll let anybody write the "Sabbath School" quarterly. 00:01:07.36\00:01:09.43 >>Eric: Well, shh, we won't tell anybody. [Shawn laughs] 00:01:09.46\00:01:11.60 But we are glad that you are here. 00:01:11.63\00:01:12.97 >>Shawn: Thank you. >>Eric: Glad that you're here. 00:01:13.00\00:01:14.30 This has been a journey so far, and we're not there yet. 00:01:14.34\00:01:17.31 We've still got four more, five if you include today. 00:01:17.34\00:01:20.61 And this is part number two of being in the Psalms. 00:01:20.64\00:01:23.41 So we covered several Psalms, 00:01:23.45\00:01:25.85 well, at least a couple last week. 00:01:25.88\00:01:27.22 >>Shawn: Yeah, two or three. >>Eric: Two or three, 00:01:27.25\00:01:29.18 and now we're going to take a look at a few more. 00:01:29.22\00:01:30.85 You open this week's lesson with Psalm 46, verse 8. 00:01:30.89\00:01:35.46 How does Psalm 46, verse 8 help someone 00:01:35.49\00:01:38.63 to understand the great controversy theme 00:01:38.66\00:01:40.66 that is so prominent, well, honestly, 00:01:40.70\00:01:42.96 throughout the entire Bible, but certainly 00:01:43.00\00:01:44.60 over in the book of Revelation? 00:01:44.63\00:01:45.93 >>Shawn: It is probably the overarching--I mean, 00:01:45.97\00:01:47.27 there's all kinds of overarching themes 00:01:47.30\00:01:48.64 in Bible prophecy, but really if you're reading 00:01:48.67\00:01:51.07 Revelation 12, the great controversy 00:01:51.11\00:01:53.04 comes down to it; war in heaven, begins in heaven. 00:01:53.07\00:01:55.71 There is controversy over God's name, His character, 00:01:55.74\00:01:58.98 and so this is an overarching theme. 00:01:59.01\00:02:01.42 And I think that there is material in Psalm 46 00:02:01.45\00:02:04.55 that kind of, at least, sheds some light on what is going on. 00:02:04.59\00:02:09.32 It's maybe not obvious, but let's take a look at it, 00:02:09.36\00:02:12.26 Psalm 46, beginning in verse 8. 00:02:12.29\00:02:14.93 It says, "Come, behold the works of the Lord." 00:02:14.93\00:02:18.60 And of course "Lord" is all caps. 00:02:18.63\00:02:20.27 That's Yahweh; it's His name. 00:02:20.30\00:02:22.90 "Behold the works of the Lord, how He has brought desolations 00:02:22.94\00:02:26.74 on the earth." Wait a second. Wait a second. 00:02:26.78\00:02:29.58 He brought desolations on the earth? 00:02:29.61\00:02:30.95 Who really did it? Who really did it? 00:02:30.98\00:02:33.45 And here's what I find interesting, 00:02:33.48\00:02:34.58 and we can't unpack this today, 00:02:34.62\00:02:36.52 you'll never get through this in your "Sabbath School" class, 00:02:36.55\00:02:38.75 I promise you, but somehow God owns the world, 00:02:38.79\00:02:43.59 in spite of the things that we did. 00:02:43.63\00:02:45.19 He just says, "No, it's still all mine." 00:02:45.23\00:02:47.60 And we talked about it a little while ago. 00:02:47.66\00:02:48.93 At the end, who handles the final destruction of the wicked? 00:02:48.96\00:02:54.47 Not the person who caused wickedness, 00:02:54.50\00:02:56.07 but God Himself steps up to the plate: 00:02:56.10\00:02:57.71 "It's my world, it's my universe. I'm going to do this." 00:02:57.74\00:03:00.71 And I can admire a God who does something like that. 00:03:00.74\00:03:02.94 We talked about Old Yeller-- you know, 00:03:02.98\00:03:05.81 eventually you're going to have to deal with it, 00:03:05.85\00:03:07.45 and God deals with it. 00:03:07.48\00:03:09.08 Here in verse 8, we have a recognition 00:03:09.12\00:03:10.79 that the world is painful, it's broken, 00:03:10.82\00:03:13.66 and that God allowed it. 00:03:13.69\00:03:14.99 That's a major part of the great controversy theme. 00:03:15.02\00:03:18.56 God has let us go our own way and reap the consequences 00:03:18.59\00:03:24.07 of what it is that we did. 00:03:24.10\00:03:26.33 So this helps me in verse 8 understand it's our decision 00:03:26.37\00:03:29.50 to make the world this way, but God allowed it, 00:03:29.54\00:03:32.47 and for our instruction, He continues to allow it 00:03:32.51\00:03:35.78 so that we're learning from it and we come back to Him. 00:03:35.81\00:03:39.11 And because He stakes some ownership in this world, 00:03:39.15\00:03:42.92 He's there through the entire process. 00:03:42.95\00:03:44.62 It tells me that as bad as we've made this place, 00:03:44.65\00:03:47.22 God has not abandoned us to ourselves. 00:03:47.26\00:03:49.76 All right, He could have. He could have said... 00:03:49.79\00:03:51.43 [makes pop sound] and then it would have lasted 00:03:51.46\00:03:53.29 all of six minutes because the Bible tells us 00:03:53.33\00:03:56.06 in Colossians, chapter 1, not only did Jesus 00:03:56.10\00:03:58.47 create the world; He holds it together. 00:03:58.50\00:04:00.14 It consists in Him. 00:04:00.17\00:04:01.80 If He wasn't still here, it would have been done. 00:04:01.84\00:04:04.94 God didn't abandon us in this. 00:04:04.97\00:04:06.57 We made it bad. He stays with us 00:04:06.61\00:04:09.08 through the experience; 00:04:09.11\00:04:10.51 He's completely absorbed and wrapped up 00:04:10.55\00:04:13.18 in what happens to me, what happens to you. 00:04:13.21\00:04:16.95 He's not guilty, but He stayed anyway, 00:04:16.99\00:04:20.66 and He stakes ownership in it: 00:04:20.69\00:04:21.99 "I'll take control of this." That's mind-blowing. 00:04:22.02\00:04:24.49 That's probably enough for an entire "Sabbath School" class. 00:04:24.53\00:04:27.30 How could God lay claim to something that He didn't start? 00:04:27.36\00:04:29.73 How is it that He created the universe, 00:04:29.76\00:04:32.13 and it still came out this way? 00:04:32.17\00:04:34.04 All right, and I love that statement 00:04:34.07\00:04:35.37 in "Great Controversy," that sin has no reason. 00:04:35.40\00:04:39.51 It's like, "Okay, that really I struggle with." 00:04:39.54\00:04:41.21 On a human philosophy level-- we've talked about this 00:04:41.24\00:04:43.65 in previous lessons-- 00:04:43.68\00:04:44.98 if I just want to be rational without what God reveals, 00:04:45.01\00:04:48.05 I don't like the idea that sin has no reason. 00:04:48.08\00:04:50.75 Got to be a good reason for it. 00:04:50.79\00:04:52.09 But we're told in the "Great Controversy," 00:04:52.12\00:04:53.72 whatever page it is-- you'll have to read 00:04:53.76\00:04:55.12 the whole book; it's near the end. 00:04:55.16\00:04:58.43 If there was a reason, it wouldn't be sin. 00:04:58.46\00:04:59.96 >>Eric: It would cease to be sin, yeah. 00:05:00.06\00:05:01.43 >>Shawn: It's not sin if you can give a good reason for it. 00:05:01.46\00:05:03.47 So there's no good reason for it. 00:05:03.50\00:05:04.80 God's not guilty, but He stays here. 00:05:04.83\00:05:06.63 Now look at verse 9--the nations come into play here: 00:05:06.67\00:05:11.41 "He makes wars cease to the end of the earth." 00:05:11.44\00:05:13.81 Here's a promise that the current state 00:05:13.84\00:05:16.88 of things, what's going on in Gaza, 00:05:16.91\00:05:18.48 what's going on out-- that's going to come to an end. 00:05:18.51\00:05:20.48 "He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; 00:05:20.52\00:05:22.45 "He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; 00:05:22.48\00:05:24.95 He burns the chariots with fire." 00:05:24.99\00:05:28.06 Suddenly I have the music playing from "Chariots of Fire" 00:05:28.09\00:05:30.46 in my--anyway, God's hand is in warfare. 00:05:30.49\00:05:37.10 That's a troublesome thought, but He's present there. 00:05:37.13\00:05:39.73 So now when you get to Daniel 7-- 00:05:39.77\00:05:41.34 we looked at this already-- we have the nations. 00:05:41.37\00:05:43.77 Israel thinks of themselves as an island 00:05:43.81\00:05:45.77 of God's mercy and grace in a sea of the nations. 00:05:45.81\00:05:48.98 The nations are self-directed, selfish, sinful, 00:05:49.01\00:05:53.62 paradise-replacement nations. 00:05:53.65\00:05:55.82 That's what they are: "We will bring paradise on our own. 00:05:55.85\00:05:58.52 I'll take charge of this." 00:05:58.55\00:06:00.62 The water is whipped up. 00:06:00.66\00:06:02.46 These are one nation after another going to war. 00:06:02.49\00:06:05.46 Does God cause them to go to war? 00:06:05.49\00:06:07.30 No, I can't see God authoring war. 00:06:07.36\00:06:09.80 Is His hand on it? Oh yeah, it's on it. 00:06:09.83\00:06:12.80 God already tells us in advance: It's going to be Babylon, 00:06:12.83\00:06:15.80 Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, the divided Western Roman Empire, 00:06:15.84\00:06:19.47 the second coming of Christ. 00:06:19.51\00:06:21.24 He's got His hand there. He allows this to go on. 00:06:21.28\00:06:24.81 And we get a lot of light on what's going on. 00:06:24.85\00:06:28.75 God is present. 00:06:28.78\00:06:30.89 That happens in Ezekiel. 00:06:30.92\00:06:32.92 I don't know that I put this in the lesson, 00:06:32.95\00:06:34.92 but Ezekiel opens with Ezekiel in captivity. 00:06:34.96\00:06:38.29 The world looks like it has ended. "Where is God? 00:06:38.33\00:06:40.80 I'm in Babylon." 00:06:40.83\00:06:42.43 Even though they were told they would go to Babylon 00:06:42.46\00:06:44.33 if they didn't repent-- he's in Babylon. 00:06:44.37\00:06:46.63 And how does that scene open? 00:06:46.67\00:06:48.54 It looks like chaos. 00:06:48.57\00:06:50.71 A whirlwind is not an orderly thing. 00:06:50.74\00:06:53.64 He compares what he sees to a whirlwind. 00:06:53.68\00:06:56.34 And if you're in, like, hurricane or tornado alley, 00:06:56.38\00:06:58.75 you've seen a whirlwind. 00:06:58.78\00:07:00.15 It looks like chaos, and he's having trouble. 00:07:00.18\00:07:02.68 There's thunder and lightning, and then he sees the creatures. 00:07:02.72\00:07:05.22 And by the end of chapter 1, he looks up, 00:07:05.25\00:07:08.62 and there's a throne above the chaos. 00:07:08.66\00:07:11.26 It's seated up-- God is sitting on His throne. 00:07:11.29\00:07:14.10 He's allowing us to run our own course, do our own things. 00:07:14.10\00:07:16.90 He's allowing the nations to express themselves all the way 00:07:16.93\00:07:19.57 to the logical end zone of human systems of government, 00:07:19.60\00:07:23.74 but He never leaves. The throne is still above it. 00:07:23.77\00:07:27.01 I see that here. "He makes war cease." 00:07:27.04\00:07:28.68 At some point He's going to blow the whistle 00:07:28.71\00:07:32.18 and say, "Everybody, out of the pool!" 00:07:32.21\00:07:34.05 He's allowing us to run the course of wickedness, 00:07:34.08\00:07:38.32 but He never quite gives up 100% control. 00:07:38.35\00:07:40.56 If He did, you'd know it. We would fall apart. 00:07:40.59\00:07:43.22 There's still the guiding hand. 00:07:43.26\00:07:44.56 I mean, in prophecy, you see a situation where the angels 00:07:44.59\00:07:46.49 are holding back the winds of the earth in the last days. 00:07:46.53\00:07:50.30 God still has a hand. 00:07:50.33\00:07:51.63 He stops it from getting out of control 00:07:51.67\00:07:53.13 so that the plan of salvation plays out 00:07:53.17\00:07:55.14 without violating our free will. 00:07:55.17\00:07:57.31 There's an hour's worth of discussion. 00:07:57.34\00:07:59.34 How does He do that? I don't know. 00:07:59.37\00:08:02.24 I think about it like this sometimes. 00:08:02.28\00:08:03.81 If I took a basketball and put it in a culvert, 00:08:03.85\00:08:07.35 angled at 45 degrees and bounced it in there-- 00:08:07.38\00:08:09.68 it's a big culvert, 3 feet wide-- 00:08:09.72\00:08:11.19 it's going to bounce around, got lots of freedom of choice, 00:08:11.22\00:08:13.29 but it's going to come out the end at the bottom 00:08:13.32\00:08:15.02 because gravity can't be beaten. 00:08:15.06\00:08:16.86 The kingdom of Christ can't be beaten. 00:08:16.89\00:08:18.76 Gravity, everything's going to pull us in that direction. 00:08:18.79\00:08:22.40 Verse 10--ah, we saw this in the life of Nebuchadnezzar. 00:08:22.43\00:08:25.37 God allowed him and allowed him and allowed him. 00:08:25.40\00:08:27.54 He got to the right conclusion, 00:08:27.57\00:08:29.20 "Be still"--verse 10, I love this--"know that I am God. 00:08:29.24\00:08:33.17 "I will be exalted among the nations, 00:08:33.21\00:08:35.84 I will be exalted in the earth!" 00:08:35.88\00:08:37.55 There's the end point in the book of Revelation. 00:08:37.58\00:08:40.68 The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom 00:08:40.72\00:08:43.08 of our Christ. 00:08:43.12\00:08:44.42 Daniel 7, verses 13 and 14, at the end of the judgment, 00:08:44.45\00:08:48.42 the Son of Man is given a kingdom that will never fail, 00:08:48.46\00:08:50.89 and every other kingdom is subject to it. 00:08:50.93\00:08:53.03 Look at this, Psalm 46:8-10 00:08:53.06\00:08:55.50 shows us, in very brief statement, 00:08:55.53\00:08:58.07 how this world is operating and where it's going to land. 00:08:58.10\00:09:00.90 God will be exalted above the nations, 00:09:00.94\00:09:02.80 and our system is going to disappear. 00:09:02.84\00:09:05.54 >>Eric: That gives us some description, some way for us 00:09:05.57\00:09:09.78 to comprehend what's happening today, at least a hope, 00:09:09.81\00:09:13.72 anyway, of doing so. 00:09:13.75\00:09:15.28 You also mention on Monday's lesson--you bring up 00:09:15.32\00:09:17.79 Jeremiah, chapter 4. >>Shawn: Yeah. 00:09:17.82\00:09:19.79 >>Eric: Again, it has to do with the kingdoms of this world. 00:09:19.82\00:09:22.46 How does this kind of broaden our understanding 00:09:22.49\00:09:24.66 of the Bible's treatment of human government? 00:09:24.69\00:09:27.60 >>Shawn: Yeah, I know. 00:09:27.66\00:09:29.36 Human government--again, I think the nations are central. 00:09:29.40\00:09:33.44 You can't understand Bible prophecy 00:09:33.47\00:09:34.90 unless you understand Genesis 10 00:09:34.94\00:09:36.57 and the way that most of humanity went its own way: 00:09:36.60\00:09:40.18 "We'll build our own kingdoms." 00:09:40.21\00:09:41.84 I mean, you can't avoid human kingdoms throughout the Bible, 00:09:41.88\00:09:44.95 whether it's Babylon, Assyria, God's own people going astray 00:09:44.98\00:09:48.58 and so on--it's very, very big. 00:09:48.62\00:09:50.62 Jeremiah, chapter 4, the first time you read it, 00:09:50.65\00:09:53.36 you'll wonder if it's talking about creation. 00:09:53.39\00:09:55.42 This is pretty famous to Seventh-day Adventists, 00:09:55.46\00:09:57.49 this passage. Jeremiah 4, verse 23, 00:09:57.53\00:10:00.96 Jeremiah has shown something fascinating: 00:10:00.96\00:10:03.13 "I looked on the earth, and behold, 00:10:03.16\00:10:07.10 it was without form and void." 00:10:07.14\00:10:09.30 All right, my first instinct is, oh, creation-- 00:10:09.34\00:10:12.54 "The earth is without form and void." 00:10:12.57\00:10:14.61 That's its original state. 00:10:14.64\00:10:15.94 "To the heavens, and they had no light." 00:10:15.98\00:10:17.78 Oh yeah, God still hasn't said, "Let there be light," 00:10:17.81\00:10:19.45 must be creation. 00:10:19.48\00:10:21.05 Except if you keep reading, 00:10:21.08\00:10:22.95 it rules out that this is talking about creation. 00:10:22.98\00:10:25.25 "I looked on the mountains, and behold, 00:10:25.29\00:10:27.12 "they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro." 00:10:27.16\00:10:29.96 Verse 25: "I looked, and behold, there was no man." 00:10:29.99\00:10:33.29 Well, if this is creation, that makes sense; 00:10:33.33\00:10:34.66 he hasn't been created yet. No, no, no, no, no, 00:10:34.73\00:10:36.93 "All the birds of the air had fled." 00:10:36.97\00:10:40.24 Oh, living creatures, the earth's been depopulated. 00:10:40.27\00:10:43.57 That's why it's without form and void. 00:10:43.61\00:10:45.47 "I looked, and behold, the fruitful land was a desert, 00:10:45.51\00:10:48.31 and all its cities were laid in ruins." 00:10:48.34\00:10:53.21 Those are the nations. They were nation states. 00:10:53.25\00:10:55.55 The cities were the independent kingdoms at that point. 00:10:55.58\00:10:57.95 They didn't have massive empires-- 00:10:57.99\00:11:00.16 till we get to the Persians, really. 00:11:00.19\00:11:01.69 Babylonians had an empire-- 00:11:01.72\00:11:03.02 the first truly international empire is the Persians. 00:11:03.06\00:11:05.69 "The cities are laid in ruins before His fierce anger." 00:11:05.73\00:11:08.53 In other words, human government ran its course. 00:11:08.56\00:11:11.10 Now God says, "Everybody," again, "out of the pool, 00:11:11.13\00:11:15.17 "I'm draining it. 00:11:15.20\00:11:16.60 Time for new water. It's time for my kingdom." 00:11:16.64\00:11:19.27 "For thus says the LORD, 'The whole land shall be 00:11:19.31\00:11:21.94 a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.'" 00:11:21.98\00:11:24.91 All right, we don't have the time for that, 00:11:24.95\00:11:27.25 but we know that, prophetically speaking, 00:11:27.28\00:11:29.82 this is pointing forward to the moment Jesus comes, 00:11:29.85\00:11:33.79 and the wicked are slain by the brightness 00:11:33.82\00:11:35.46 of His presence. 00:11:35.49\00:11:37.13 This is a long study-- you need to get into it 00:11:37.16\00:11:40.20 if this seems like unfamiliar territory. 00:11:40.23\00:11:43.40 And the devil is left alone, not buried with the rest and so on. 00:11:43.43\00:11:47.34 It's not the full end yet. 00:11:47.37\00:11:48.67 We go to heaven, God opens the books. 00:11:48.70\00:11:50.11 Because He's so thorough, He says, 00:11:50.14\00:11:51.61 "I want you to be happy with the way 00:11:51.64\00:11:53.07 this is going to play out, and I want you to understand." 00:11:53.11\00:11:55.68 He takes us up, Revelation 20 says we get to look at the books 00:11:55.71\00:11:58.41 before He makes a final move. 00:11:58.45\00:12:00.25 So yeah, cities break down, but before God 00:12:00.28\00:12:03.18 finally deals with humanity, there's a pause, and we get to-- 00:12:03.22\00:12:06.86 anyway, there's an awful lot packed into those few verses. 00:12:06.89\00:12:09.62 It anticipates a huge chunk of the book of Revelation. 00:12:09.66\00:12:13.46 >>Eric: And like you said, we don't have time 00:12:13.50\00:12:15.56 to delve into all of that here. 00:12:15.60\00:12:17.67 There is a companion book, though, 00:12:17.70\00:12:19.37 that gives us more. Tell us about that. 00:12:19.40\00:12:21.04 >>Shawn: Yeah, the companion book, I think we call it 00:12:21.07\00:12:23.54 just "How to Study Prophecy." 00:12:23.57\00:12:25.51 And again, it's not blow by blow "this symbol means this, 00:12:25.54\00:12:28.28 this symbol means that." What we're looking at 00:12:28.31\00:12:30.11 are the major themes in prophecy, 00:12:30.15\00:12:31.81 where they come from in the Old Testament, 00:12:31.85\00:12:33.78 some stories that anticipate last-day events 00:12:33.82\00:12:36.35 and that kind of thing. 00:12:36.38\00:12:37.69 I think it'll make your study more fruitful and maybe 00:12:37.72\00:12:39.69 your "Sabbath School" discussion more fruitful. 00:12:39.72\00:12:41.69 You'll find it anchored in Christ and in hope. 00:12:41.72\00:12:44.63 >>Eric: And that's reason enough to pick it up. 00:12:44.66\00:12:46.29 It is an excellent book. 00:12:46.33\00:12:47.60 You will want to, not just add it to your library, 00:12:47.66\00:12:50.60 but on that stack of books that you have 00:12:50.63\00:12:52.57 in your to-read pile, put this one right at the top. 00:12:52.60\00:12:56.40 In fact, crack it open as soon as you can 00:12:56.44\00:12:58.71 because you're going to be able to get a lot 00:12:58.74\00:13:00.44 out of it for yourself, but you will also be able 00:13:00.48\00:13:02.51 to get a lot out of it that you can share 00:13:02.54\00:13:04.91 in your class, whether you are a teacher 00:13:04.95\00:13:07.45 or a participant in the class. 00:13:07.48\00:13:09.65 It's going to strengthen your walk with Christ, 00:13:09.68\00:13:11.75 and you can strengthen others with it as well. 00:13:11.79\00:13:14.46 We're going to be back in just a moment 00:13:14.49\00:13:16.26 as we continue taking a look 00:13:16.29\00:13:17.79 at understanding or how to study Bible prophecy. 00:13:17.83\00:13:21.03 As we go through the book of Psalms, 00:13:21.06\00:13:23.57 we're gaining insight, 00:13:23.60\00:13:25.03 wisdom, hope, encouragement as we do so. 00:13:25.07\00:13:28.80 We'll be right back in just a moment here 00:13:28.84\00:13:30.34 on "Sabbath School," brought to you by It Is Written. 00:13:30.37\00:13:33.14 ¤¤¤ 00:13:33.17\00:13:35.18 >>John Bradshaw: It's one of the most fascinating books 00:13:37.08\00:13:39.05 in the Bible, written with signs and symbols in almost a code, 00:13:39.08\00:13:44.65 written by John, who was under house arrest when he wrote it, 00:13:44.69\00:13:48.26 on the island of Patmos in the beautiful Aegean Sea. 00:13:48.29\00:13:52.53 Don't miss "Great Chapters of the Bible," 00:13:52.56\00:13:55.66 Revelation, chapter 14, where we investigate 00:13:55.70\00:13:59.03 a chapter of the Bible that contains 00:13:59.07\00:14:00.60 what the Bible refers to as "the everlasting gospel," 00:14:00.64\00:14:05.04 God's final message of warning and mercy for the world. 00:14:05.07\00:14:10.05 Revelation, chapter 14, introduces us to the 144,000. 00:14:10.08\00:14:15.88 Who are the 144,000? 00:14:15.92\00:14:18.35 And can you be in that group? 00:14:18.39\00:14:21.06 And then three messages from angels that fly 00:14:21.09\00:14:24.06 in the midst of heaven 00:14:24.09\00:14:25.39 proclaiming their God-given message 00:14:25.43\00:14:26.93 with a loud voice. 00:14:26.96\00:14:28.73 Don't miss "Great Chapters of the Bible," 00:14:28.76\00:14:31.90 Revelation, chapter 14, 00:14:31.93\00:14:33.87 on It Is Written TV. 00:14:33.90\00:14:35.67 ¤¤¤ 00:14:37.31\00:14:41.61 >>Eric: Welcome back to "Sabbath School," 00:14:41.64\00:14:43.21 brought to you by It Is Written. 00:14:43.24\00:14:44.98 We're looking at how to study Bible prophecy, 00:14:45.01\00:14:47.88 especially as it connects with the book of Psalms. 00:14:47.92\00:14:52.05 Shawn, we left off talking a little bit about Jeremiah, 00:14:52.09\00:14:55.49 chapter 4, and the millennium. 00:14:55.52\00:14:57.46 We didn't title it as such, but there's that pause, if you will. 00:14:57.49\00:15:02.86 I want to come back to Monday's lesson again. 00:15:02.90\00:15:05.47 And you ask people to think of the hardships 00:15:05.50\00:15:08.40 that would disappear along with the kingdoms. 00:15:08.44\00:15:11.74 I think many of us would like to see 00:15:11.77\00:15:13.07 a lot of hardships disappear today, 00:15:13.11\00:15:15.54 if yesterday's not a possibility. 00:15:15.58\00:15:17.98 But there are many hardships that are going to disappear 00:15:18.01\00:15:20.32 in the near future. What are some of those? 00:15:20.35\00:15:21.98 >>Shawn: Yeah, and here's the interesting thing. 00:15:22.02\00:15:23.65 There are hardships that come on us 00:15:23.69\00:15:25.32 because we've all collectively sinned. 00:15:25.35\00:15:26.65 And I want to be careful-- it doesn't mean 00:15:26.69\00:15:28.66 that if something's going wrong in your life, 00:15:28.69\00:15:30.43 it's specifically because of your sin. 00:15:30.46\00:15:31.96 Jesus made that clear with the man born blind. 00:15:31.99\00:15:33.80 "What did his parents do?" 00:15:33.83\00:15:35.10 Nothing, nothing, that's sometimes the case. 00:15:35.13\00:15:37.83 Job was tormented; it wasn't his fault. 00:15:37.87\00:15:40.47 There are other occasions, however, 00:15:40.50\00:15:41.84 where it becomes pretty obvious. 00:15:41.87\00:15:43.97 You know, when Israel's prosperity started to fall 00:15:44.01\00:15:46.81 and the Assyrians had no problem conquering them, 00:15:46.84\00:15:48.74 that was clearly because of their own sins. 00:15:48.78\00:15:51.88 So there are issues. 00:15:51.91\00:15:53.35 The human race is not what it used to be. 00:15:53.38\00:15:55.25 We suffer with disease and death 00:15:55.28\00:15:57.99 because of our collective problem, our collective problem. 00:15:58.02\00:16:01.22 But there are other problems that are caused 00:16:01.26\00:16:02.66 by human government. This entire method 00:16:02.69\00:16:06.23 of taking control of the planet, 00:16:06.26\00:16:08.33 the nations, the Gentiles-- however you want to call it-- 00:16:08.36\00:16:11.17 the nations running the earth, 00:16:11.20\00:16:12.50 the kings, earthly systems of government 00:16:12.53\00:16:14.70 create all kinds of problems. 00:16:14.74\00:16:16.37 And what we find in Scripture, in Isaiah, chapter 65, 00:16:16.40\00:16:20.44 in particular, I find it fascinating. 00:16:20.48\00:16:22.88 Chapters and verses came much later, like in the 1200s, 00:16:22.91\00:16:25.98 but there are 66 chapters in Isaiah, 00:16:26.01\00:16:28.12 and they roughly parallel the themes 00:16:28.15\00:16:29.62 of the 66 books of the Bible. How does that happen? 00:16:29.65\00:16:33.36 But 65, we're getting to the new earth 00:16:33.39\00:16:35.72 and some of the themes we find in Revelation. 00:16:35.76\00:16:38.33 Isaiah 65:21, "They shall build houses and inhabit them." 00:16:38.36\00:16:44.77 Well, let's think of just the 10 years that just went by. 00:16:44.80\00:16:47.77 Maybe you had a house, maybe you got caught up 00:16:47.80\00:16:51.27 in the housing bubble burst. 00:16:51.31\00:16:54.34 You know, what triggered all that? 00:16:54.38\00:16:56.14 I don't want to get political, but clearly government 00:16:56.18\00:16:58.85 had a hand in creating that situation. 00:16:58.88\00:17:01.35 Government forced banks to go out and write loans to people 00:17:01.38\00:17:04.95 who probably couldn't qualify. 00:17:04.99\00:17:06.29 That's as far as I'm going to go. 00:17:06.32\00:17:07.62 It's not a condemnation or an affirmation of one party 00:17:07.66\00:17:09.96 or the other, but we know that many of the problems we have 00:17:09.99\00:17:13.46 when it comes to resource allocation in this world 00:17:13.50\00:17:16.43 is due to the way we manage things. 00:17:16.46\00:17:18.77 And here God says, "How about you build a house 00:17:18.80\00:17:20.50 and you live in it?" Wait a minute, no mortgage? 00:17:20.54\00:17:23.17 Nah, no mortgage. 00:17:23.20\00:17:24.67 Can't be taken from me if I don't pay the taxes? 00:17:24.71\00:17:26.64 No, can't be taken. That system is gone. 00:17:26.68\00:17:30.25 You will build a house, and you get to live in it. 00:17:30.28\00:17:33.11 Verse 22, "They shall not build and another inhabit." 00:17:33.15\00:17:36.55 Think about all the people put out on the street in 2009. 00:17:36.58\00:17:40.09 "They shall not plant and another eat." 00:17:40.12\00:17:42.72 Think of all the people who work and they can't afford the goods 00:17:42.76\00:17:44.86 they produce for others. 00:17:44.89\00:17:47.03 "For like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, 00:17:47.03\00:17:50.23 and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands." 00:17:50.27\00:17:53.47 I took a political science major, pretty much 00:17:53.50\00:17:55.90 useless degree, unless you go to law school. 00:17:55.94\00:17:59.04 And at the end of four years, I remember a professor saying, 00:17:59.07\00:18:01.58 "Okay, basically politics is the study of who gets what, 00:18:01.61\00:18:06.18 where, and when." 00:18:06.21\00:18:07.58 It's like, "I'm sorry, I paid how much 00:18:07.62\00:18:09.12 for four years of this, and that?" 00:18:09.15\00:18:11.12 Yeah, it's the study of who gets what, where, and when. 00:18:11.15\00:18:15.42 Politics, at the end of the day, is the allocation 00:18:15.46\00:18:18.99 of scarce resources. 00:18:19.03\00:18:21.13 Self-interested people allocate more of those things 00:18:21.16\00:18:23.80 to themselves, and so we have huge disparities 00:18:23.83\00:18:26.40 in wealth and poverty in this world. 00:18:26.43\00:18:28.74 We have people fighting and going to war over such things. 00:18:28.77\00:18:32.14 Who's going to control that oil in Kuwait? That kind of stuff. 00:18:32.17\00:18:34.94 God says, "That's gone. It all belongs to me. 00:18:34.98\00:18:38.31 There is no scarcity." 00:18:38.35\00:18:40.15 There's not as much scarcity in the earth 00:18:40.18\00:18:42.48 as we think there is. 00:18:42.52\00:18:43.95 Most of that scarcity is created by us, right, 00:18:43.99\00:18:46.96 the stuff that we do. 00:18:46.99\00:18:48.29 God says, "That's gone. You built the house; you live in it. 00:18:48.32\00:18:51.26 You plant the crop; you eat it." 00:18:51.29\00:18:53.16 That system, I can't wait for this one. 00:18:53.19\00:18:55.13 I can't wait for this one. 00:18:55.16\00:18:56.63 Verse 23: "They shall not labor in vain." 00:18:56.67\00:18:59.93 Oh, wow, how many times have you done that one? 00:19:00.04\00:19:02.24 Just labored and you felt like, "What was that for?" 00:19:02.27\00:19:04.81 "Or bear children for calamity." 00:19:04.84\00:19:06.81 I won't even comment on that one as a parent, 00:19:06.84\00:19:08.71 but every parent knows that's a potential. 00:19:08.74\00:19:11.31 "They shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord, 00:19:11.35\00:19:13.31 and their descendants with them." 00:19:13.35\00:19:14.65 Verse 24: "Before they call I will answer; 00:19:14.68\00:19:18.92 while they are yet speaking I will hear." 00:19:18.95\00:19:22.69 Ever prayed and wondered when God was going to answer? 00:19:22.72\00:19:25.63 In the earth made new, He answers 00:19:25.66\00:19:27.00 before you're done asking. 00:19:27.03\00:19:28.43 That's mind-blowing. Why is that even possible? 00:19:28.46\00:19:31.60 It's because we've become so aligned with God's system 00:19:31.63\00:19:34.20 of government, with His character 00:19:34.24\00:19:35.54 written in our foreheads, 00:19:35.57\00:19:37.21 that we're not going to ask for anything 00:19:37.24\00:19:38.54 that isn't God's will anyway. 00:19:38.57\00:19:40.14 You know, prayer gets answered every single time 00:19:40.18\00:19:42.08 in the new earth. 00:19:42.11\00:19:43.51 The distance between us and God...disappears. 00:19:43.55\00:19:46.01 Right now there's a tangible difference. 00:19:46.05\00:19:47.98 I feel separated from God, even if it's just by the fact 00:19:48.02\00:19:50.72 I can't actually see Jesus face to face. 00:19:50.75\00:19:53.32 Separation disappears. Verse 25: 00:19:53.36\00:19:55.69 "The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; 00:19:55.72\00:19:57.39 "the lion shall eat straw like the ox, 00:19:57.43\00:19:59.56 "and dust shall be the serpent's food. 00:19:59.59\00:20:01.03 They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain." 00:20:01.06\00:20:04.73 The destructive, dangerous nature 00:20:04.77\00:20:06.13 of the world we live in, restored. 00:20:06.17\00:20:09.97 There's something in us that still wants that. 00:20:10.01\00:20:12.67 What's your screen saver on your computer? 00:20:12.71\00:20:16.14 It's not a picture of your office. 00:20:16.18\00:20:18.31 Maybe it is--that's messed up. 00:20:18.35\00:20:20.68 Probably nature, something that you-- 00:20:20.72\00:20:24.95 we all, every culture on earth instinctively senses 00:20:24.99\00:20:27.62 we lost something big in the distant past. 00:20:27.66\00:20:29.49 Something used to be different, it used to be better, 00:20:29.52\00:20:32.13 and now we have to live the hard way, and God says, 00:20:32.16\00:20:34.36 "No more hard way. How about this? 00:20:34.40\00:20:38.03 "You build; you enjoy. You plant; you eat. 00:20:38.07\00:20:41.74 "No more danger. You can let your kids play in the yard. 00:20:41.77\00:20:44.47 You don't have to worry about the mountain lions." 00:20:44.51\00:20:46.51 That's a Colorado story. 00:20:46.54\00:20:47.88 They have to worry about that here. 00:20:47.91\00:20:49.88 There's so much--Isaiah 40, 00:20:49.91\00:20:51.21 there's so much of this in Isaiah. 00:20:51.25\00:20:53.05 Isaiah 40, verse 28: "Have you not known? 00:20:53.08\00:20:56.08 "Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, 00:20:56.12\00:20:59.09 the Creator of the ends of the earth." 00:20:59.12\00:21:00.52 There's that theme again, it's Revelation 14, 00:21:00.56\00:21:02.46 "Worship Him who made." 00:21:02.49\00:21:03.79 "He does not faint or grow weary; 00:21:03.83\00:21:05.69 "His understanding is unsearchable. 00:21:05.73\00:21:07.66 He gives power to the faint." 00:21:07.73\00:21:11.87 Oh, the older I get, the more that verse 00:21:11.90\00:21:15.67 makes some sense to me. 00:21:15.70\00:21:17.94 I mean, I wasn't born strong. 00:21:17.97\00:21:19.87 I was born with an affliction that required 00:21:19.91\00:21:21.61 corrective surgeries as a kid. 00:21:21.64\00:21:23.04 I wasn't the best on the track team by a long shot, 00:21:23.08\00:21:26.08 but I keep reading this, and I'm thinking, 00:21:26.11\00:21:29.65 I could do with this power to the faint. 00:21:29.68\00:21:31.45 "Even youths shall be faint and weary, 00:21:31.49\00:21:32.95 "and young men shall fall exhausted; 00:21:32.99\00:21:34.32 "but they who wait for the LORD 00:21:34.36\00:21:36.19 "shall renew their strength; they shall mount up 00:21:36.22\00:21:38.83 with wings like eagles." 00:21:38.86\00:21:41.33 I'm always exhausted. 00:21:41.36\00:21:42.66 I've never slept through the night in my life. 00:21:42.70\00:21:44.00 I was born with a sleep issue. 00:21:44.03\00:21:47.57 And I've discovered by doing a little ancestry.com 00:21:47.60\00:21:49.90 and talking to some relatives, it's genetic. 00:21:49.94\00:21:52.11 We've had it forever, and God says, 00:21:52.14\00:21:53.51 "How about a good night's sleep when you get to my kingdom? 00:21:53.54\00:21:55.31 That's fixed. Isaiah 35: 00:21:55.34\00:21:57.81 "Say to those who have an anxious heart"--there I am, 00:21:57.85\00:21:59.71 that's half the reason I don't sleep. 00:21:59.75\00:22:01.52 I can't let go of stuff. 00:22:01.55\00:22:02.92 I don't know what you're like. I just can't let go. 00:22:02.95\00:22:05.25 If at 2:00 in the morning I don't know where 00:22:05.29\00:22:06.59 the tax receipts are for tax time, 00:22:06.62\00:22:07.96 it might be October, but I'm going to get up 00:22:07.99\00:22:09.52 and find them before I can sleep. 00:22:09.56\00:22:11.13 I'm going to go. I can't let it go. 00:22:11.16\00:22:13.33 God says, don't be anxious. "'Be strong; fear not!' ... 00:22:13.36\00:22:16.10 The lame man shall leap like a deer." 00:22:16.13\00:22:19.17 I was born-- 00:22:19.20\00:22:23.27 I had surgeries, corrective surgeries as a kid, 00:22:23.30\00:22:25.57 reconstructive surgeries. 00:22:25.61\00:22:26.91 I never walked well, I couldn't run well, I couldn't jump, 00:22:26.94\00:22:31.45 and here God says, "Leap like a deer"? 00:22:31.48\00:22:33.58 I've always said, you know, "I'm going to have the one house 00:22:33.62\00:22:36.22 in heaven that actually has a fence around it." 00:22:36.25\00:22:38.55 "Why do you need a fence, Shawn, in heaven? 00:22:38.59\00:22:40.39 You're not going to have a burglar problem." 00:22:40.42\00:22:41.72 I don't care. It's going to be 6 foot high 00:22:41.76\00:22:42.92 because I've watched those deer. They can go over that thing. 00:22:42.96\00:22:45.36 And you're going to come over, and you're going to watch me 00:22:45.39\00:22:47.73 jump that thing because this says I'm going to jump. 00:22:47.76\00:22:50.10 That might not mean much to you who can jump, 00:22:50.13\00:22:52.43 but to me, I get everything back. 00:22:52.47\00:22:55.70 I get stuff I've never had. 00:22:55.74\00:22:58.34 The pain is gone, the suffering is gone, 00:22:58.37\00:23:00.18 the man-made problems are gone, 00:23:00.21\00:23:02.74 and here's what's interesting to me. 00:23:02.78\00:23:04.91 All these promises appear to be a reversal 00:23:04.95\00:23:08.08 of what Jesus predicts in Matthew 24. 00:23:08.12\00:23:11.45 What does he predict in Matthew 24? 00:23:11.49\00:23:13.22 "Nation will rise against nation." 00:23:13.25\00:23:16.56 There's Daniel 7, "The winds of war being whipped up." 00:23:16.59\00:23:19.56 It's not going to end until the very end. 00:23:19.59\00:23:21.50 All right, there's famine, earthquakes. 00:23:21.53\00:23:23.83 That's a natural disaster, but the whole earth is groaning, 00:23:23.87\00:23:26.27 the book of Romans says, because of what we did. 00:23:26.30\00:23:29.60 Famine, pestilence, disease, all gone. 00:23:29.64\00:23:32.57 And I've sometimes asked myself, "Why, Lord, 00:23:32.61\00:23:35.88 why would You let all of that happen?" 00:23:35.91\00:23:38.31 You read Matthew 24, and my gut instinct says, 00:23:38.35\00:23:41.12 "Why in the world would God allow that to happen?" 00:23:41.15\00:23:44.32 Well, number one, it's the natural consequence 00:23:44.35\00:23:45.99 of what we did to this place. 00:23:46.02\00:23:48.06 Number two, how much am I going to crave 00:23:48.09\00:23:51.06 the new kingdom if I'm perfectly comfortable in this one? 00:23:51.09\00:23:54.93 God has to let it unravel. 00:23:54.93\00:23:56.83 So I don't drop too many anchors as one of His children 00:23:56.87\00:23:59.10 in this world. And it's getting easier by the day. 00:23:59.13\00:24:01.94 I don't know how you feel out there, 00:24:01.97\00:24:03.27 but it's getting easier by the day to let go of this place. 00:24:03.30\00:24:05.77 There's no hope here. There's no hope here. 00:24:05.81\00:24:07.84 God's going to reverse it all, give it all back. 00:24:07.88\00:24:10.45 It's falling apart before your eyes now, and God says, 00:24:10.48\00:24:12.68 "No, no, no, no, just hang in there. 00:24:12.71\00:24:14.58 Buckle up, I'm not done yet." 00:24:14.62\00:24:16.82 >>Eric: Yeah, something to look forward to in a big, big way. 00:24:16.85\00:24:21.62 >>Shawn: Why is anybody scared of prophecy? 00:24:21.66\00:24:23.16 Read this, read this stuff. 00:24:23.19\00:24:24.46 >>Eric: There's good stuff coming-- 00:24:24.49\00:24:25.79 >>Shawn: Oh yeah. >>Eric: ...good stuff coming. 00:24:25.83\00:24:27.66 Shawn, you mentioned about good things to come. 00:24:27.73\00:24:29.63 There's not much better things to come 00:24:29.66\00:24:31.97 than what we find in Psalm 47. You talk about this in the study 00:24:32.00\00:24:35.24 on the Second Coming. Walk us through this. 00:24:35.27\00:24:37.94 >>Shawn: All right, take a look at this. 00:24:37.97\00:24:39.44 And again, because it's the Psalms, 00:24:39.47\00:24:41.14 we could go for 150 weeks and still not get through all of it, 00:24:41.18\00:24:45.81 but Psalm 47, verse 1: "Clap your hands, all peoples! 00:24:45.85\00:24:49.18 Shout to God with loud songs of joy!" 00:24:49.22\00:24:52.32 Sound like God wants you to be afraid of what's coming? 00:24:52.35\00:24:55.49 Not at all, not at all. 00:24:55.52\00:24:57.23 If you're in Christ, you're on Mount Zion; you're fine. 00:24:57.26\00:25:00.13 "For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared." 00:25:00.16\00:25:03.03 "Fear God, give glory to Him, 00:25:03.06\00:25:04.53 "for the hour of His judgment has come. 00:25:04.57\00:25:06.13 Worship Him who made"-- 00:25:06.17\00:25:07.90 "A great king over all the earth. 00:25:07.94\00:25:10.57 He subdued peoples under us"-- 00:25:10.61\00:25:13.11 literally did that for literal Old Testament Israel-- 00:25:13.14\00:25:16.68 "and nations [to be] under our feet." 00:25:16.71\00:25:20.95 That's the end game. God says, "I'm taking 00:25:20.98\00:25:22.78 all those worldly nations, and they're under you." 00:25:22.82\00:25:26.92 How can they be under me? 00:25:26.96\00:25:28.26 Well, because Jesus promises in Revelation 3 00:25:28.29\00:25:31.16 He's going to share His throne with us. 00:25:31.19\00:25:33.43 You don't deserve heaven to start with, but then He says, 00:25:33.46\00:25:35.40 "How about you sit on the throne with me?" 00:25:35.43\00:25:37.90 Revelation, chapter 11, we've mentioned this a few times, 00:25:37.93\00:25:40.94 verse 15: "The seventh angel blew his trumpet,... 00:25:40.97\00:25:43.61 "there were loud voices in heaven, saying, 00:25:43.64\00:25:45.11 "'The kingdom of the world has become 00:25:45.14\00:25:46.34 'the kingdom of our Lord and...His Christ, 00:25:46.37\00:25:47.81 and [we] shall reign forever and ever.'" 00:25:47.84\00:25:50.95 Daniel 7, verse 14: "And to Him was given dominion"-- 00:25:50.98\00:25:54.28 this is Jesus--"and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, 00:25:54.32\00:25:56.62 nations, and languages should serve Him." 00:25:56.65\00:25:59.22 Psalm 47 anticipates it. 00:25:59.25\00:26:01.26 I mean the Psalms are full of these things. 00:26:01.29\00:26:04.63 God continually holds out the promise of what He's going to do 00:26:04.66\00:26:08.43 with this disaster of a planet over and over and over again. 00:26:08.46\00:26:12.67 "He chose our heritage for us, 00:26:12.70\00:26:14.10 the pride of Jacob whom He loves." 00:26:14.14\00:26:16.44 He chose my heritage for me? Heritage? 00:26:16.47\00:26:20.11 Well, Jesus has got a heritage. 00:26:20.14\00:26:22.61 He hung on the cross "for the joy 00:26:22.64\00:26:23.95 that was set before Him." And the Bible says that we-- 00:26:23.98\00:26:26.28 He is the heir of this planet. It's rightfully His. 00:26:26.31\00:26:29.28 And then Romans, chapter 8, verse 16 says that 00:26:29.32\00:26:31.79 we are heirs with God and fellow heirs with Christ. 00:26:31.82\00:26:33.66 He's going to share it with me. 00:26:33.69\00:26:36.76 And I get to sit on the throne with Him. 00:26:36.79\00:26:40.50 How can you be scared of this stuff? 00:26:40.53\00:26:42.63 It doesn't add up. 00:26:42.66\00:26:44.13 It's nothing but good news for those who just say, 00:26:44.17\00:26:47.14 "You know what, I choose to be with Christ." 00:26:47.17\00:26:49.34 That's where you need to be. 00:26:49.37\00:26:50.91 Can you think of one good reason, one good reason 00:26:50.94\00:26:53.91 to not follow the Lamb wherever He goes? 00:26:53.94\00:26:56.61 You know there's no such thing. 00:26:56.64\00:26:58.31 Some of you have resisted; some of you have said, 00:26:58.35\00:27:00.25 "Yeah, but"--there's no buts; there's no ands. 00:27:00.28\00:27:03.79 Read it, read this book, and tell me 00:27:03.82\00:27:05.69 where you'd rather be at the moment 00:27:05.72\00:27:07.32 that Jesus appears in the eastern sky. 00:27:07.36\00:27:09.99 >>Eric: Everything that this world offers is finite. 00:27:10.03\00:27:13.43 >>Shawn: Yeah, and disappointing. 00:27:13.46\00:27:14.93 >>Eric: And disappointing, its pleasures and joys are fleeting, 00:27:14.93\00:27:18.30 but time with the Lord, that'll never end. 00:27:18.33\00:27:22.54 You'll never get tired of that. 00:27:22.57\00:27:24.41 We're going to be taking a look more deeply 00:27:24.44\00:27:26.78 into Bible prophecy 00:27:26.81\00:27:28.28 as we continue this journey for the remaining weeks, 00:27:28.31\00:27:31.61 looking at how we can gain faith and strength and hope 00:27:31.65\00:27:36.25 through the Scriptures. 00:27:36.28\00:27:37.79 We look forward to seeing you next time 00:27:37.82\00:27:39.35 here on "Sabbath School," brought to you by It Is Written. 00:27:39.39\00:27:42.99 ¤¤¤ 00:27:43.02\00:27:47.03 ¤¤¤ 00:28:24.97\00:28:26.94 [Captions provided by Aberdeen Captioning www.abercap.com] 00:28:26.97\00:28:41.98
