[MIKE] Well, Steve and Teresa, 00:00:00.73\00:00:02.40 we have come to the end of our 00:00:02.40\00:00:03.60 time on this pristine island, 00:00:03.60\00:00:05.53 this beautiful island of 00:00:05.53\00:00:06.50 Sumaoy. 00:00:06.50\00:00:07.70 Where are we going next? 00:00:07.70\00:00:09.00 [STEVE] Well, we're gonna go and 00:00:09.00\00:00:09.94 take you to the Hidden Village. 00:00:09.94\00:00:10.87 [MIKE] The Hidden Village? 00:00:10.87\00:00:12.04 Why do they call it the Hidden 00:00:12.04\00:00:12.97 Village? 00:00:12.97\00:00:13.61 [STEVE] Well, let's go find out. 00:00:13.68\00:00:14.68 [MIKE] Awesome, let's go. 00:00:14.68\00:00:15.84 [STEVE] All right. 00:00:15.84\00:00:16.48 [RENÉ] Let's go! 00:00:16.48\00:00:17.71 [theme music playing] 00:00:19.35\00:00:23.05 ¤¤ 00:00:23.05\00:00:26.59 [energetic music playing] 00:00:58.52\00:01:02.36 ¤¤ 00:01:02.36\00:01:04.13 [boat motor whirring] 00:01:04.13\00:01:07.10 [energetic music you for joining us. 00:01:32.95\00:01:34.36 We are in the Philippines again 00:01:34.36\00:01:36.09 with ADRA Canada and we're 00:01:36.09\00:01:37.53 visiting this little remote 00:01:37.53\00:01:39.96 village, this barangay of 00:01:39.96\00:01:42.86 Sagrada, which actually means 00:01:42.86\00:01:44.77 "sacred." 00:01:44.77\00:01:45.67 And we're here with Steve 00:01:45.67\00:01:47.44 Matthews, who is the CEO of ADRA 00:01:47.44\00:01:49.84 Canada, and Teresa Ferreira, who 00:01:49.84\00:01:52.54 is with Philanthropy and 00:01:52.54\00:01:54.58 Marketing. 00:01:54.58\00:01:55.61 So Steve and Teresa, thank you 00:01:55.61\00:01:57.85 for inviting us to come to this 00:01:57.85\00:02:00.82 remote location, be here with 00:02:00.82\00:02:02.55 you out in the field. 00:02:02.55\00:02:03.89 >> And thanks so much for 00:02:04.25\00:02:05.72 traveling such a great distance 00:02:05.72\00:02:07.19 to be here with us as well. 00:02:07.19\00:02:09.82 >> We promise you it's worth it. 00:02:09.82\00:02:11.59 [MIKE] Yeah, I can see when we 00:02:11.59\00:02:13.63 came in here on a boat, you 00:02:13.63\00:02:15.00 promised us this would be the 00:02:15.00\00:02:16.83 Hidden Village and it really is 00:02:16.83\00:02:19.30 a hidden village. 00:02:19.30\00:02:20.50 [STEVE] Yeah, wasn't it amazing 00:02:20.50\00:02:21.74 just kind of going through the 00:02:21.74\00:02:22.94 mangroves to get here? 00:02:22.94\00:02:24.41 >> It was, it was. 00:02:24.41\00:02:25.61 Yeah, it was kind of intriguing 00:02:25.61\00:02:28.21 when you said that it was a 00:02:28.21\00:02:29.18 hidden village and then when we 00:02:29.18\00:02:30.28 came there, I was like, "Where 00:02:30.28\00:02:31.35 is this village?" 00:02:31.35\00:02:32.31 And we kept going, you know, 00:02:32.31\00:02:34.08 serpentine through all of these 00:02:34.08\00:02:36.02 mangroves and eventually we came 00:02:36.02\00:02:37.49 to this little cove. 00:02:37.49\00:02:39.82 And it's really amazing village. 00:02:39.82\00:02:42.29 I haven't seen anything like 00:02:42.29\00:02:43.22 this before. 00:02:43.22\00:02:44.26 >> I'm really anxious to go and 00:02:44.26\00:02:46.06 meet the people of Sagrada. 00:02:46.06\00:02:48.26 But before we go, I wonder if 00:02:48.26\00:02:50.77 you can tell me, these projects 00:02:50.77\00:02:52.87 are really extensive. 00:02:52.87\00:02:55.10 Where does ADRA Canada get the 00:02:55.10\00:02:56.84 funding from? 00:02:56.84\00:02:58.17 >> Well, René, that's a great 00:02:58.44\00:02:59.71 question. 00:02:59.71\00:03:00.84 We have significant partnerships 00:03:00.84\00:03:03.08 that we leverage funding from, 00:03:03.08\00:03:05.11 specifically with Government of 00:03:05.11\00:03:07.18 Canada, so GAC, we're with 00:03:07.18\00:03:09.55 Canadian Foodgrains Bank, CFGB, 00:03:09.55\00:03:12.22 other partners that we have 00:03:12.22\00:03:13.49 along the way as well. 00:03:13.49\00:03:15.19 And so when you look at that, 00:03:15.19\00:03:16.79 you think the funding all comes 00:03:16.79\00:03:18.13 from there. 00:03:18.13\00:03:19.16 But the component that is so 00:03:19.16\00:03:20.83 important for ADRA Canada is 00:03:20.83\00:03:22.80 connected to our donors. 00:03:22.80\00:03:24.33 In order to access some of those 00:03:24.33\00:03:26.00 funds, we have to come up with a 00:03:26.00\00:03:27.50 match component, and that's 00:03:27.50\00:03:29.40 where we rely on our very 00:03:29.40\00:03:31.17 faithful donors. 00:03:31.17\00:03:32.67 And so when they give, that 00:03:32.67\00:03:34.68 empowers us to access greater 00:03:34.68\00:03:37.11 moneys. 00:03:37.11\00:03:38.15 But if we did not have that 00:03:38.15\00:03:39.51 match component, we wouldn't 00:03:39.51\00:03:40.88 have a seat at the table with 00:03:40.88\00:03:42.22 these other partnerships. 00:03:42.22\00:03:43.95 And so that's what allows us the 00:03:43.95\00:03:45.79 leverage to really go for a long 00:03:45.79\00:03:48.12 term of development within these 00:03:48.12\00:03:50.63 communities. 00:03:50.63\00:03:51.69 >> I always like to say that by 00:03:52.26\00:03:53.66 doing that, we're able to 00:03:53.66\00:03:55.00 multiply the funds that come 00:03:55.00\00:03:57.20 in to us. 00:03:57.20\00:03:58.10 So when someone gives a dollar, 00:03:58.10\00:03:59.83 it never is just a dollar. 00:03:59.83\00:04:01.70 It's, it goes toward being able 00:04:01.70\00:04:04.07 to access funds that sometimes 00:04:04.07\00:04:05.57 can be maybe two times, 00:04:05.57\00:04:07.28 sometimes four, five times or 00:04:07.28\00:04:09.18 even higher at times with being 00:04:09.18\00:04:12.25 able to access those additional 00:04:12.25\00:04:13.45 funds. 00:04:13.45\00:04:14.38 >> And our donors love that. 00:04:14.38\00:04:15.82 I just remember a campaign that 00:04:15.82\00:04:17.12 we did through the summer, and 00:04:17.12\00:04:18.45 even my dear grandmother, who's 00:04:18.45\00:04:19.85 out west, she was like, I must 00:04:19.85\00:04:22.06 get my money into ADRA because 00:04:22.06\00:04:23.66 there's a match component, 00:04:23.66\00:04:25.16 right? 00:04:25.16\00:04:25.93 And so that speaks their 00:04:25.93\00:04:27.00 language as well. 00:04:27.00\00:04:28.00 So when we have that ability to 00:04:28.00\00:04:29.50 do that, it empowers them to 00:04:29.50\00:04:31.50 say, yes, you know, I can give 00:04:31.50\00:04:33.27 even more to an ADRA project so 00:04:33.27\00:04:36.14 that I can make a difference in 00:04:36.14\00:04:37.27 someone's life. 00:04:37.27\00:04:38.51 >> Well, thank you for sharing 00:04:38.77\00:04:39.94 that with us. 00:04:39.94\00:04:40.78 So we're-- I'm really looking 00:04:40.78\00:04:41.78 forward to going into Sagrada, 00:04:41.78\00:04:43.65 so... 00:04:43.65\00:04:44.55 [STEVE] Great, let's go. 00:04:44.55\00:04:45.28 [TERESA] Let's go see. 00:04:45.28\00:04:45.95 [MIKE] Let's do that. 00:04:45.95\00:04:46.51 [STEVE] Yes. 00:04:46.51\00:04:47.28 [cheery music playing] 00:04:47.28\00:04:50.09 ¤¤ 00:04:50.09\00:04:52.65 >> We are visiting in the home 00:04:53.42\00:04:54.76 of George 00:05:41.24\00:05:41.97 How did you meet? 00:05:41.97\00:05:43.17 [speaking in native language] 00:05:44.51\00:05:46.71 [TRANSLATION] We do not come 00:05:47.38\00:05:48.38 from the same part of the 00:05:48.38\00:05:49.78 Philippines. 00:05:49.78\00:05:51.35 George was from this village and 00:05:51.35\00:05:53.28 I grew up far away from here in 00:05:53.28\00:05:55.45 the southern part of the 00:05:55.45\00:05:56.45 country. 00:05:56.45\00:05:57.85 We met when we were both young 00:05:57.85\00:05:59.49 and working in Manila. 00:05:59.49\00:06:01.16 We worked for different 00:06:02.16\00:06:03.32 companies, but stayed at 00:06:03.32\00:06:04.76 boarding houses that were right 00:06:04.76\00:06:06.33 next to each other. 00:06:06.33\00:06:08.06 The first time we met, George 00:06:08.06\00:06:09.66 was actually courting another 00:06:09.66\00:06:11.00 girl who was staying in the same 00:06:11.00\00:06:12.70 boarding house as me. 00:06:12.70\00:06:14.20 I even helped the two of them 00:06:14.87\00:06:16.54 get to know each other. 00:06:16.54\00:06:17.87 Eventually we all moved back to 00:06:18.67\00:06:20.24 our hometown, but a couple of 00:06:20.24\00:06:23.08 years later I came back to 00:06:23.08\00:06:25.35 Manila for work and who should I 00:06:25.35\00:06:27.38 meet again but George, who had 00:06:27.38\00:06:30.19 also come back to find 00:06:30.19\00:06:31.39 more work. 00:06:31.39\00:06:32.85 This time we were the ones to 00:06:32.85\00:06:34.76 start courting. 00:06:34.76\00:06:36.12 We fell in love and got married. 00:06:36.59\00:06:38.99 We decided to move back here to 00:06:39.49\00:06:41.36 Sagrada and raise our family 00:06:41.36\00:06:43.37 here. 00:06:43.37\00:06:44.70 >> So are you both happy? 00:06:50.37\00:06:51.37 Sagrada is known as a hidden 00:06:51.97\00:06:53.54 village because of the 00:06:53.54\00:06:54.61 mangroves, and so we had to wind 00:06:54.61\00:06:56.58 our way through those and it was 00:06:56.58\00:06:57.81 very beautiful. 00:06:57.81\00:06:58.85 It's amazing that there was 00:06:58.85\00:07:00.05 actually a village at the end of 00:07:00.05\00:07:01.85 all of that. 00:07:01.85\00:07:02.95 What's it like to live in the 00:07:02.95\00:07:04.79 mangroves? 00:07:04.79\00:07:05.82 [TRANSLATION] We are very proud 00:07:09.42\00:07:11.19 of our mangroves. 00:07:20.67\00:07:22.10 As a bonus, the mangroves give 00:07:22.80\00:07:25.61 us protection from typhoons and 00:07:25.61\00:07:28.38 tsunamis. 00:07:28.38\00:07:30.05 We are a hidden village and also 00:07:30.05\00:07:33.58 a protected village. 00:07:33.58\00:07:35.95 We are very fortunate to live 00:07:35.95\00:07:37.52 here. 00:07:37.52\00:07:38.52 >> When we came into the village 00:07:39.02\00:07:40.79 of Sagrada, we noticed that 00:07:40.79\00:07:41.89 there were a lot of children. 00:07:41.89\00:07:43.69 What's it like for the children 00:07:43.69\00:07:45.49 living here? many kids there are in 00:07:53.23\00:07:55.37 Sagrada. 00:07:55.37\00:07:56.71 You are right, there are a lot. 00:07:56.71\00:07:58.81 The children here live carefree 00:07:59.51\00:08:01.81 lives. 00:08:01.81\00:08:03.24 They are free to safely play 00:08:03.24\00:08:05.85 anywhere in the village. 00:08:05.85\00:08:07.92 They play in the river, in the 00:08:07.92\00:08:09.82 fields, and up in the hills. 00:08:09.82\00:08:12.99 But they are also respectful and 00:08:12.99\00:08:15.09 help their parents with 00:08:15.09\00:08:16.83 household chores. 00:08:16.83\00:08:18.26 We have a school here that goes 00:08:18.89\00:08:20.46 up to grade six. 00:08:20.46\00:08:22.50 After that, the children have to 00:08:22.50\00:08:24.80 walk about 40 minutes to get to 00:08:24.80\00:08:27.34 the next village to continue 00:08:27.34\00:08:29.27 their education. 00:08:29.27\00:08:30.61 >> George and Mirasol, how long 00:08:31.71\00:08:33.88 has ADRA been working in 00:08:33.88\00:08:36.01 sometime around 2016 00:08:45.89\00:08:48.79 or 2017. 00:08:48.79\00:08:50.63 We are very thankful that ADRA 00:08:51.29\00:08:53.19 came to work in Sagrada. 00:08:53.19\00:08:55.63 One of the things that has been 00:08:55.63\00:08:56.93 the most helpful for us is the 00:08:56.93\00:08:59.53 knowledge that we have gained 00:08:59.53\00:09:01.84 about the importance of balanced 00:09:01.84\00:09:04.37 nutrition and how to provide 00:09:04.37\00:09:07.08 that for our children with 00:09:07.08\00:09:08.88 kitchen gardens. 00:09:08.88\00:09:10.35 ADRA gave us training, tools, 00:09:10.98\00:09:13.98 and seeds. 00:09:13.98\00:09:15.25 The tools were very good 00:09:15.98\00:09:17.79 quality. 00:09:17.79\00:09:19.25 I'm still using the tools that 00:09:19.25\00:09:20.92 ADRA gave us back in 2017. 00:09:20.92\00:09:23.56 They are old now, but they have 00:09:24.43\00:09:26.86 served us well. 00:09:26.86\00:09:28.16 Now the TOGETHER project has 00:09:29.06\00:09:31.13 given us a new set of tools. 00:09:31.13\00:09:33.57 But I am saving those until we 00:09:34.14\00:09:36.30 really need to replace the 00:09:36.30\00:09:38.01 old ones. 00:09:38.01\00:09:39.34 ADRA gave us so much instruction 00:09:40.74\00:09:43.75 on how to live better lives. 00:09:43.75\00:09:45.61 Everything that they have taught 00:09:46.25\00:09:47.58 us, we have tried our best to 00:09:47.58\00:09:49.62 apply to our everyday lives. 00:09:49.62\00:09:52.15 One of the things that was a big 00:09:52.82\00:09:54.46 help not only for us but for the 00:09:54.46\00:09:57.36 whole village was the comfort 00:09:57.36\00:10:00.10 rooms that ADRA helped us build. 00:10:00.10\00:10:02.56 >> George and Mirasol, you 00:10:04.57\00:10:06.03 mentioned a comfort room. 00:10:06.03\00:10:07.84 In Canada we call it a bathroom 00:10:07.84\00:10:09.67 or a toilet. 00:10:09.67\00:10:10.91 Obviously, that made a 00:10:11.74\00:10:13.07 difference because you didn't 00:10:13.07\00:10:14.18 have one in your house and you 00:10:14.18\00:10:15.51 didn't have them here in the 00:10:15.51\00:10:16.54 village. 00:10:16.54\00:10:17.31 How has that made a difference 00:10:17.31\00:10:18.85 to the village now that ADRA 00:10:18.85\00:10:22.18 helped you to put in these 00:10:22.18\00:10:24.32 toilets? 00:10:24.32\00:10:25.39 [TRANSLATION] Before we had the 00:10:28.59\00:10:29.89 comfort rooms, when the children 00:10:29.89\00:10:31.83 needed to poop, they would just 00:10:31.83\00:10:33.96 stop and poop wherever they 00:10:33.96\00:10:35.53 were. 00:10:35.53\00:10:36.56 They would poop in the river. 00:10:36.56\00:10:38.80 So now that all of the families 00:10:38.80\00:10:40.70 have their own comfort room, the 00:10:40.70\00:10:42.74 sanitation of the whole village 00:10:42.74\00:10:44.77 has greatly improved. 00:10:44.77\00:10:46.54 >> So, Mirasol and George, ADRA 00:10:47.41\00:10:50.55 has been here in Sagrada for six 00:13:33.98\00:13:35.08 [speaking in native language] 00:13:35.24\00:13:37.51 [TRANSLATION] As a youth 00:13:38.65\00:13:39.71 champion for ADRA, I have 00:13:39.71\00:13:41.48 learned a lot about 00:13:54.36\00:13:55.66 training with ADRA. 00:13:55.66\00:13:57.63 They call it training of 00:13:57.63\00:13:58.87 trainers. 00:13:58.87\00:14:00.30 So I got together with lots of 00:14:00.30\00:14:01.64 other young people from many 00:14:01.64\00:14:03.24 villages around, and we learned 00:14:03.24\00:14:05.17 all of the key messages of ADRA 00:14:05.17\00:14:07.18 and how to become facilitators. 00:14:07.18\00:14:09.18 >> Sheila I see you have an 00:14:10.41\00:14:12.45 educational training tool 00:14:12.45\00:14:14.28 behind you. 00:14:14.28\00:14:15.85 Can you show us how you use it 00:14:15.85\00:14:18.09 to facilitate the key messages 00:14:18.09\00:14:20.52 of the TOGETHER project? 00:14:20.52\00:14:22.32 [speaking in native language] 00:14:22.69\00:14:24.96 [TRANSLATION] Yes, this is the 00:14:25.83\00:14:27.13 flip chart that ADRA has 00:14:27.13\00:14:28.60 prepared for all of the youth 00:14:28.60\00:14:29.66 champions. 00:14:29.66\00:14:31.40 Having a visual aid like this 00:14:31.40\00:14:32.90 really makes it easier for us to 00:14:32.90\00:14:34.60 present our lessons. 00:14:34.60\00:14:36.64 The program covers many issues 00:14:36.64\00:14:38.41 that young people face as they 00:14:38.41\00:14:39.81 are growing up. 00:14:39.81\00:14:41.21 Some of the lessons teach us how 00:14:41.21\00:14:42.44 to take good care of our bodies. 00:14:42.44\00:14:44.45 There is a lesson on the 00:14:44.91\00:14:45.95 importance of preventing teenage 00:14:45.95\00:14:47.42 pregnancy. 00:14:47.42\00:14:48.45 We talk about reproductive 00:14:48.78\00:14:50.05 health and rights, women's 00:14:50.05\00:14:51.79 rights not to be abused, gender 00:14:51.79\00:14:54.09 based violence, gender equality, 00:14:54.09\00:14:56.52 and human rights. 00:14:56.52\00:14:58.13 These are just some of the 00:14:58.13\00:14:59.13 topics that we cover in our 00:14:59.13\00:15:00.33 sessions. 00:15:00.33\00:15:01.46 >> Wow, Sheila, that is a very 00:15:02.26\00:15:04.13 comprehensive teaching tool. 00:15:04.13\00:15:06.77 How do you find the students or 00:15:06.77\00:15:10.14 the young people respond to it 00:15:10.14\00:15:13.11 when you teach them because 00:15:13.11\00:15:14.34 you're teaching them a lot of 00:15:14.34\00:15:16.31 information and it's very 00:15:16.31\00:15:18.45 practical. 00:15:18.45\00:15:19.55 [speaking in native language] 00:15:20.25\00:15:22.85 [TRANSLATION] At first some of 00:15:24.29\00:15:25.49 the students would laugh because 00:15:25.49\00:15:27.52 some of the illustrations are 00:15:27.52\00:15:28.96 quite graphic. 00:15:28.96\00:15:30.53 But I have come up with 00:15:30.53\00:15:31.56 strategies and stories that help 00:15:31.56\00:15:33.06 the participants listen and 00:15:33.06\00:15:34.56 learn. 00:15:34.56\00:15:35.50 The flip chart really does a lot 00:15:35.50\00:15:36.87 to hold their attention. 00:15:36.87\00:15:38.20 >> How big are your groups, 00:15:39.90\00:15:41.40 Sheila? 00:15:41.40\00:15:42.34 How many youth do you have in a 00:15:42.34\00:15:44.61 group and do you have boys and 00:15:44.61\00:15:47.44 girls together in the group that 00:15:47.44\00:15:49.54 you're teaching? 00:15:49.54\00:15:50.78 [TRANSLATION] The training 00:15:54.08\00:15:55.05 groups are divided into girls 00:15:55.05\00:15:56.15 groups and boys groups. 00:15:56.15\00:15:58.39 I'm doing the training for just 00:15:58.39\00:15:59.89 the girls and women in Sagrada. 00:15:59.89\00:16:01.99 I facilitate four groups. 00:16:03.09\00:16:05.59 We have about 30 in each group, 00:16:05.59\00:16:07.30 so all together, a total of 00:16:07.30\00:16:08.53 around 120 girls and women. 00:16:08.53\00:16:10.80 >> Sheila, you put a lot of 00:16:11.27\00:16:13.17 effort into this and you do a 00:16:13.17\00:16:15.27 great job, you're really 00:16:15.27\00:16:16.60 dedicated to this. 00:16:16.60\00:16:17.81 I'm sure the young ladies and 00:16:17.81\00:16:20.51 the women of Sagrada are really 00:16:20.51\00:16:22.61 appreciative. 00:16:22.61\00:16:23.88 Why do you do this? 00:16:23.88\00:16:25.45 [TRANSLATION] Well, at first I 00:16:28.75\00:16:30.05 just wanted to learn. 00:16:30.05\00:16:31.82 I value knowledge. 00:16:31.82\00:16:33.76 But then as I took the training, 00:16:33.76\00:16:35.52 I also developed a sense of 00:16:35.52\00:16:36.76 responsibility to share this 00:16:36.76\00:16:38.43 knowledge with all of the young 00:16:38.43\00:16:39.69 people of my village. 00:16:39.69\00:16:41.66 They needed to know what 00:16:41.66\00:16:42.70 I now knew. 00:16:42.70\00:16:44.37 The problem was that I was a 00:16:44.37\00:16:45.67 very shy person. 00:16:45.67\00:16:47.17 I had no confidence. 00:16:47.17\00:16:49.00 But the ADRA training really 00:16:49.00\00:16:50.17 helped us with that as well. 00:16:50.17\00:16:51.81 We practiced speaking in front 00:16:52.27\00:16:53.94 of people. 00:16:53.94\00:16:55.44 Now I am no longer shy and I 00:16:55.44\00:16:57.38 have a lot more confidence 00:16:57.38\00:16:58.71 in myself. 00:16:58.71\00:17:00.08 Presenting in front of people is 00:17:00.08\00:17:01.65 no longer a problem for me. 00:17:01.65\00:17:03.52 >> Sheila, I'm so happy that 00:17:04.05\00:17:06.86 this program has helped you to 00:17:06.86\00:17:08.56 build confidence and also I want 00:17:08.56\00:17:11.79 you to know that you are making 00:17:11.79\00:17:13.70 a big difference in so many 00:17:13.70\00:17:16.26 people's lives. 00:17:16.26\00:17:17.40 Thank you for doing this. 00:17:17.40\00:17:19.30 >> Sheila, also, one more 00:17:19.77\00:17:21.00 question. 00:17:21.00\00:17:21.94 Why do you think ADRA has taken 00:17:23.14\00:17:25.27 the approach of getting young 00:17:25.27\00:17:27.54 people, youth like yourself, to 00:17:27.54\00:17:29.71 train young people, to teach 00:17:29.71\00:17:31.81 young people rather than getting 00:17:31.81\00:17:33.28 an adult 00:22:06.35\00:22:08.76 time talking about the Republic 00:22:08.76\00:22:10.33 Act 9262. 00:22:10.33\00:22:12.63 This is a law that the 00:22:12.99\00:22:14.66 government of the Philippines law for almost 00:22:23.20\00:22:24.77 20 years, and yet very few 00:22:24.77\00:22:27.58 people, especially women, know 00:22:27.58\00:22:30.05 about the law. 00:22:30.05\00:22:31.65 This law deals with more than 00:22:31.65\00:22:33.48 just physical abuse. 00:22:33.48\00:22:35.45 It also covers any kind of 00:22:35.45\00:22:37.32 psychological abuse. 00:22:37.32\00:22:38.99 I make sure that every young 00:22:39.65\00:22:41.86 girl and woman in Sagrada knows 00:22:41.86\00:22:44.43 about their rights so that they 00:22:44.43\00:22:46.43 become less vulnerable to being 00:22:46.43\00:22:48.50 abused physically or 00:22:48.50\00:22:50.57 psychologically. 00:22:50.57\00:22:51.77 >> Lorleny, you are really the 00:22:55.67\00:22:57.74 perfect person to be teaching encourage 00:24:57.23\00:24:59.06 monthly donors. 00:24:59.06\00:25:00.36 Monthly donors really help give 00:25:00.36\00:25:01.93 us a sustainable income. 00:25:01.93\00:25:03.47 We know how much we can count on 00:25:03.47\00:25:05.70 each month. 00:25:05.70\00:25:06.77 Another way that people can 00:25:06.77\00:25:08.07 support is through their legacy. 00:25:08.07\00:25:11.37 Leave a gift for ADRA in their 00:25:11.84\00:25:13.91 will and their giving can 00:25:13.91\00:25:16.88 outlive them. 00:25:16.88\00:25:18.48 There's also, you know, you can 00:25:19.18\00:25:21.05 check out our website, go 00:25:21.05\00:25:22.95 through, follow us on our social 00:25:22.95\00:25:24.42 media. 00:25:24.42\00:25:25.22 There's always different ways 00:25:25.22\00:25:26.09 that we're sharing about how 00:25:26.09\00:25:27.49 people can support different 00:25:27.49\00:25:29.06 causes, different projects. 00:25:29.06\00:25:31.09 So there may be something that 00:25:31.09\00:25:33.29 comes up that somebody says, 00:25:33.29\00:25:34.40 "Hey, you know, I really want to 00:25:34.40\00:25:35.53 support that." 00:25:35.53\00:25:36.56 So by following us on that, you 00:25:36.56\00:25:37.80 don't miss out on those 00:25:37.80\00:25:38.73 opportunities to support a cause 00:25:38.73\00:25:40.94 that may be particularly 00:25:40.94\00:25:42.27 interesting to an individual. 00:25:42.27\00:25:44.31 >> In fact, we're getting ready 00:25:45.17\00:25:46.51 to launch a new initiative 00:25:46.51\00:25:48.48 connected to our development 00:25:48.48\00:25:49.64 projects. 00:25:49.64\00:25:50.35 So as you've experience here in 00:25:50.35\00:25:52.11 the Philippines, what we've done 00:25:52.11\00:25:53.68 is our development programs 00:25:53.68\00:25:55.92 department has assessed capacity 00:25:55.92\00:25:57.65 there to see if there are what 00:25:57.65\00:25:59.65 we would call small but still 00:25:59.65\00:26:01.16 larger projects, somewhere in 00:26:01.16\00:26:02.46 the range of $25,000 to $150,000 00:26:02.46\00:26:05.89 that could speak the language of 00:26:05.89\00:26:07.23 a church family or that could 00:26:07.23\00:26:08.36 speak
