>> So I wanna ask you a 00:00:01.53\00:00:02.30 question: what would you 00:00:02.30\00:00:03.83 attempt if you knew that you 00:00:03.83\00:00:05.33 could not fail? 00:00:05.33\00:00:06.77 >> Would you open that 00:00:06.77\00:00:07.84 business you always wanted to 00:00:07.84\00:00:09.30 start, but was afraid it 00:00:09.30\00:00:11.34 wouldn't get off the ground? 00:00:11.34\00:00:12.81 >> Or would you write that 00:00:12.81\00:00:13.61 book that you're always 00:00:13.61\00:00:14.28 talking about? 00:00:14.28\00:00:15.44 You know, "I'm gonna write" 00:00:15.44\00:00:16.48 "that book one day." 00:00:16.48\00:00:17.91 >> The toughest part of any 00:00:17.91\00:00:19.65 achievement is overcoming 00:00:19.65\00:00:21.42 your fear. 00:00:21.42\00:00:22.98 If I knew beyond the shadow 00:00:22.98\00:00:24.89 of a doubt I could not fail, 00:00:24.89\00:00:26.96 I would fly. 00:00:26.96\00:00:28.59 >> If I knew beyond a shadow 00:00:28.59\00:00:29.66 of a doubt I could not fail, I 00:00:29.66\00:00:31.93 know I would fly as well, but 00:00:31.93\00:00:33.43 don't tell our daughters that 00:00:33.43\00:00:34.60 because I tell them they can 00:00:34.60\00:00:35.56 do anything they wanna do 00:00:35.56\00:00:37.10 except go sky diving. 00:00:37.10\00:00:38.90 >> So why are you do afraid of 00:00:38.90\00:00:40.54 sky diving? 00:00:40.54\00:00:41.84 >> We'll talk about that later 00:00:41.84\00:00:42.77 in the program. 00:00:42.77\00:00:44.31 >> OK, well, I want to tell 00:00:44.31\00:00:47.21 you about a crazy Canadian 00:00:47.21\00:00:49.24 blogger by the name of 00:00:49.24\00:00:50.85 Kyle McDonald who attempted 00:00:50.85\00:00:52.45 something audacious. 00:00:52.45\00:00:54.42 [Mike] One day, Kyle McDonald, 00:00:54.42\00:00:55.98 he looked down on his desk 00:00:55.98\00:00:57.02 and what did he see? 00:00:57.02\00:00:58.52 A red paperclip and he thought 00:00:58.52\00:00:59.82 to himself, 00:00:59.82\00:01:00.82 "I remember this game" 00:01:00.82\00:01:01.99 "called Bigger and Better" 00:01:01.99\00:01:04.23 "where you trade something" 00:01:04.23\00:01:05.69 "that is small for something" 00:01:05.69\00:01:07.13 "bigger and better and then" 00:01:07.13\00:01:08.36 "you repeat." 00:01:08.36\00:01:09.80 >> He said to himself, 00:01:09.80\00:01:11.40 "I wonder what would happen" 00:01:11.40\00:01:12.93 "if I took this red paperclip" 00:01:12.93\00:01:15.77 "and tried to trade it." 00:01:15.77\00:01:17.84 "What could I end up with" 00:01:17.84\00:01:19.67 "after 12 months of trading?" 00:01:19.67\00:01:22.08 >> So what did he have 00:01:22.08\00:01:23.11 to lose? 00:01:23.11\00:01:24.25 Nothing, a red paperclip? 00:01:24.25\00:01:25.45 That's nothing. 00:01:25.45\00:01:26.48 He knew he could not fail. 00:01:26.48\00:01:28.32 So he posted this picture of a 00:01:28.32\00:01:31.32 red paperclip on a website 00:01:31.32\00:01:33.42 called Craig's List and two 00:01:33.42\00:01:36.19 girls offered him a pen shaped 00:01:36.19\00:01:38.43 like a fish which was bigger 00:01:38.43\00:01:40.33 and better than his dinky 00:01:40.33\00:01:41.43 little red paperclip so he 00:01:41.43\00:01:43.03 gladly took it. 00:01:43.03\00:01:44.83 >> Next, someone offered him a 00:01:44.83\00:01:46.60 doorknob with a crazy face on 00:01:46.60\00:01:48.47 it in exchange for the 00:01:48.47\00:01:49.77 fish pen. 00:01:49.77\00:01:51.31 Then he received a camping 00:01:51.31\00:01:53.11 stove for the doorknob. 00:01:53.11\00:01:54.71 >> After each successive 00:01:54.71\00:01:56.38 trade, Kyle McDonald received 00:01:56.38\00:01:58.51 something bigger and better 00:01:58.51\00:02:00.15 than what he had before. 00:02:00.15\00:02:01.92 >> Some items he received and 00:02:01.92\00:02:04.09 traded where a snowmobile, 00:02:04.09\00:02:06.12 a trip for two to the Rockies, 00:02:06.12\00:02:08.16 a moving truck, and one year's 00:02:08.16\00:02:11.16 free rent in someone's house in 00:02:11.16\00:02:13.26 Phoenix, Arizona. 00:02:13.26\00:02:14.63 >> Ah, that's not bad, eh? 00:02:14.63\00:02:15.83 I think I would be really 00:02:15.83\00:02:16.87 happy with that. 00:02:16.87\00:02:18.23 I mean, who wouldn't be happy 00:02:18.23\00:02:20.10 with Phoenix, Arizona for one 00:02:20.10\00:02:22.04 year, especially if 00:02:22.04\00:02:22.87 you're Canadian. 00:02:22.87\00:02:23.81 Phoenix is nice and warm in 00:02:23.81\00:02:25.34 the winter. 00:02:25.34\00:02:26.47 >> Mm hmm, but Kyle was only 00:02:26.47\00:02:28.38 nine months into this. 00:02:28.38\00:02:30.45 Nine months before he had 00:02:30.45\00:02:32.25 started with one red paperclip 00:02:32.25\00:02:34.25 and now he had one year's free 00:02:34.25\00:02:36.72 rent in someone's house in 00:02:36.72\00:02:38.05 Phoenix, Arizona. 00:02:38.05\00:02:39.99 >> But that wasn't good enough 00:02:39.99\00:02:40.99 for Kyle McDonald. 00:02:40.99\00:02:42.12 He wanted to see how much 00:02:42.12\00:02:43.26 bigger and better 00:02:43.26\00:02:44.26 it could get. 00:02:44.26\00:02:45.79 >> Finally, after 14 online 00:02:45.79\00:02:48.13 trades over the course of a 00:02:48.13\00:02:49.63 year, he ended up with a 00:02:49.63\00:02:51.80 two-story farmhouse in 00:02:51.80\00:02:54.04 Kipling, Saskatchewan. 00:02:54.04\00:02:55.47 [Mike] Wow, how's that 00:02:55.47\00:02:56.44 for success? 00:02:56.44\00:02:57.04 Playing a game of Bigger and 00:02:57.11\00:02:58.54 Better starting with a little 00:02:58.54\00:03:00.18 red paperclip and ending up 00:03:00.18\00:03:02.04 with a two-story farmhouse, 00:03:02.04\00:03:03.48 which he turned into a very 00:03:03.48\00:03:04.98 successful little restaurant 00:03:04.98\00:03:06.61 called The Red Paperclip 00:03:06.61\00:03:08.25 Cottage Cafe. 00:03:08.25\00:03:10.22 >> What an amazing story of 00:03:10.22\00:03:11.85 faith and ingenuity. 00:03:11.85\00:03:13.79 Starting with a red paperclip 00:03:13.79\00:03:15.79 and ending up with a two-story 00:03:15.79\00:03:18.09 farm house in one year. 00:03:18.09\00:03:20.76 >> So what would you attempt 00:03:20.76\00:03:22.43 if you knew that you could 00:03:22.43\00:03:23.16 not fail? 00:03:23.16\00:03:24.57 Let's take this into the realm 00:03:24.57\00:03:26.94 of faith in God and trusting 00:03:26.94\00:03:28.84 His promises. 00:03:28.84\00:03:30.57 >> What would you attempt for 00:03:30.57\00:03:32.04 God if you knew you would 00:03:32.04\00:03:33.78 not fail? 00:03:33.78\00:03:35.48 The Bible assures us: 00:03:35.48\00:03:37.15 [Mike] So stick with us as we 00:03:40.32\00:03:42.12 explore how you can conquer 00:03:42.12\00:03:44.32 your limitations and do what 00:03:44.32\00:03:47.52 you thought was impossible. 00:03:47.52\00:03:50.39 中 00:03:50.39\00:04:25.99 [ominous music] 00:04:27.30\00:04:36.60 >> So I used to have a serious 00:04:38.24\00:04:39.61 fear of heights. 00:04:39.61\00:04:40.94 >> And that's why you don't 00:04:40.94\00:04:41.88 want our daughters to go 00:04:41.88\00:04:42.84 sky diving. 00:04:42.84\00:04:43.51 >> Correct. 00:04:43.51\00:04:44.58 Let me ask you a question. 00:04:44.58\00:04:46.05 Are any of you afraid 00:04:46.05\00:04:47.15 of heights? 00:04:47.15\00:04:48.32 This was once my greatest fear. 00:04:48.32\00:04:49.95 When I was 25 years old, my-- 00:04:49.95\00:04:52.12 one of my older brothers, his 00:04:52.12\00:04:53.76 name was Pete, who was 32 at 00:04:53.76\00:04:55.22 the time, he was working in 00:04:55.22\00:04:56.96 Nelson, British Columbia on 00:04:56.96\00:04:59.23 the night shift and it was for 00:04:59.23\00:05:01.23 a company called Cominco. 00:05:01.23\00:05:02.86 It was extremely cold outside. 00:05:02.86\00:05:05.03 The wind was blowing and the 00:05:05.03\00:05:06.74 snow was filling the air. 00:05:06.74\00:05:09.37 He was bundled up and he was 00:05:09.37\00:05:11.27 working more than fifty feet 00:05:11.27\00:05:13.31 in the air, standing on a few 00:05:13.31\00:05:15.84 wooden boards that were 00:05:15.84\00:05:17.45 sheathed in black ice. 00:05:17.45\00:05:19.48 He had a harness, a safety 00:05:19.48\00:05:21.32 belt around his waist, but he 00:05:21.32\00:05:24.55 had to move to the next work 00:05:24.55\00:05:27.42 station and in order to do so 00:05:27.42\00:05:29.96 he would have to unhook his 00:05:29.96\00:05:31.79 safety belt, the clips, and 00:05:31.79\00:05:33.80 then he would reconnect them 00:05:33.80\00:05:35.90 to the next workstation. 00:05:35.90\00:05:38.27 And so he unhooked the clips 00:05:38.27\00:05:39.73 and then he inched his way 00:05:39.73\00:05:41.60 along that ice-covered 00:05:41.60\00:05:43.74 scaffolding and the snow blew 00:05:43.74\00:05:46.27 around his head and wind beat 00:05:46.27\00:05:48.21 against his back and just as 00:05:48.21\00:05:50.98 he was about to reconnect 00:05:50.98\00:05:52.75 himself, his foot slipped from 00:05:52.75\00:05:54.88 underneath him and he 00:05:54.88\00:05:56.58 plummeted to the ground, 00:05:56.58\00:05:58.75 slamming into some solid metal 00:05:58.75\00:06:01.02 pipes and beams as he fell. 00:06:01.02\00:06:03.93 As his safety helmet was 00:06:03.93\00:06:06.29 thrown from his head, he hit 00:06:06.29\00:06:08.56 his head on a number of pipes, 00:06:08.56\00:06:10.30 steel pipes, as he was falling 00:06:10.30\00:06:11.67 down and he landed on the 00:06:11.67\00:06:12.77 ground and there was a young 00:06:12.77\00:06:14.57 man there and he was a vibrant 00:06:14.57\00:06:16.00 Christian and he ran to his 00:06:16.00\00:06:17.57 side and he was the first man 00:06:17.57\00:06:20.01 on the spot. 00:06:20.01\00:06:21.94 And he looked at my brother, 00:06:21.94\00:06:23.31 Pete's, injuries and he could 00:06:23.31\00:06:25.15 see that he was so badly 00:06:25.15\00:06:27.82 injured and he called for 00:06:27.82\00:06:29.58 help and as some of the other 00:06:29.58\00:06:30.99 guys contacted the medical 00:06:30.99\00:06:33.09 team, he came back to the site 00:06:33.09\00:06:36.29 and this Christian young man, 00:06:36.29\00:06:37.56 he returned to my brother's 00:06:37.56\00:06:39.06 side and he began to talk to 00:06:39.06\00:06:40.53 him about Jesus. 00:06:40.53\00:06:42.96 He asked my brother, Pete, if 00:06:42.96\00:06:44.20 he knew who Jesus was and Pete 00:06:44.20\00:06:46.23 said, "yes," and then he asked 00:06:46.23\00:06:48.67 Pete if he was saved and my 00:06:48.67\00:06:50.67 brother, Pete, said 00:06:50.67\00:06:51.67 he wanted to be. 00:06:51.67\00:06:53.74 And so the young man asked him 00:06:53.74\00:06:56.21 if he could pray for my brother. 00:06:56.21\00:06:58.35 And so Pete said that, "Yeah," 00:06:58.35\00:07:01.15 "that would be OK." 00:07:01.15\00:07:02.58 And so the guy started praying 00:07:02.58\00:07:04.39 for my brother and my brother 00:07:04.39\00:07:06.55 accepted Jesus as his personal 00:07:06.55\00:07:09.22 saviour that evening. 00:07:09.22\00:07:12.39 He was 32 years old 00:07:12.39\00:07:15.13 and he died shortly after 00:07:15.13\00:07:18.23 that prayer. 00:07:18.23\00:07:20.34 I became extremely 00:07:20.34\00:07:22.04 afraid of heights. 00:07:22.04\00:07:24.31 Before I was never afraid of 00:07:24.31\00:07:26.91 heights, but after my 00:07:26.91\00:07:29.08 brother's death, it kind of 00:07:29.08\00:07:30.61 sparked this serious 00:07:30.61\00:07:32.75 fear of heights. 00:07:32.75\00:07:34.18 >> Mm hmm, oh, that really does 00:07:34.18\00:07:35.48 make sense now. 00:07:35.48\00:07:37.35 >> But the story of my fear of 00:07:37.35\00:07:39.49 heights doesn't end there. 00:07:39.49\00:07:42.12 A friend of mine found out 00:07:42.12\00:07:43.83 about my fear and he told me 00:07:43.83\00:07:45.93 that we needed to go rock 00:07:45.93\00:07:47.46 climbing together. 00:07:47.46\00:07:49.20 And I wasn't so sure, but rock 00:07:49.20\00:07:51.40 climbing was his specialty 00:07:51.40\00:07:53.50 so I trusted him. 00:07:53.50\00:07:55.37 It was just he and myself and 00:07:55.37\00:07:58.54 the photos that he took 00:07:58.54\00:08:00.41 revealed not how I was 00:08:00.41\00:08:02.24 feeling inside. 00:08:02.24\00:08:03.88 In fact, for him to get me to 00:08:03.88\00:08:06.72 a spot just on the edge of 00:08:06.72\00:08:08.85 the cliff took him more than 00:08:08.85\00:08:11.15 an hour and I would just stand 00:08:11.15\00:08:13.39 there with my feet just 00:08:13.39\00:08:15.12 planted to the ground and I 00:08:15.12\00:08:17.33 had this harness around my 00:08:17.33\00:08:18.86 waist and, Spencer, the name 00:08:18.86\00:08:20.23 of my friend, he would-- 00:08:20.23\00:08:22.63 he knew that I was so scared 00:08:22.63\00:08:24.83 and to try and calm me down he 00:08:24.83\00:08:26.37 said, "It's alright," 00:08:26.37\00:08:27.67 "it's alright, we don't have" 00:08:27.67\00:08:28.64 "to go rock climbing today" 00:08:28.64\00:08:29.77 "or descending down the" 00:08:29.77\00:08:31.11 "rock face." 00:08:31.11\00:08:32.14 "Just leave it," 00:08:32.14\00:08:33.27 "just forget about it." 00:08:33.27\00:08:34.41 But I insisted that I had to 00:08:34.41\00:08:36.28 overcome this fear. 00:08:36.28\00:08:38.51 And so I asked him every 00:08:38.51\00:08:40.48 possible question about 00:08:40.48\00:08:42.18 the equipment. 00:08:42.18\00:08:43.55 "How safe was your equipment?" 00:08:43.55\00:08:45.12 "How many people have you" 00:08:45.12\00:08:46.55 "dropped in the past?" 00:08:46.55\00:08:47.79 and "What did you think" 00:08:47.79\00:08:49.32 "about my chances of" 00:08:49.32\00:08:50.69 "surviving that day." 00:08:50.69\00:08:52.86 And he was very patient and 00:08:52.86\00:08:55.30 when all of my questions were 00:08:55.30\00:08:57.27 answered to my satisfaction, 00:08:57.27\00:09:00.50 I went over the edge. 00:09:00.50\00:09:03.20 And so as I was going over the 00:09:03.20\00:09:06.14 bottom-- to the bottom, he had 00:09:06.14\00:09:07.61 a camera down there and it was 00:09:07.61\00:09:09.08 capturing some of 00:09:09.08\00:09:10.08 these images. 00:09:10.08\00:09:12.11 So these are some of the shots 00:09:12.11\00:09:13.31 from his camera. 00:09:13.31\00:09:15.38 Does this cause any of you to 00:09:15.38\00:09:16.72 have butterflies in 00:09:16.72\00:09:17.85 your stomach? 00:09:17.85\00:09:18.95 It certainly did me 00:09:18.95\00:09:19.82 at the time. 00:09:19.82\00:09:21.32 And I guarantee you that I 00:09:21.32\00:09:23.22 prayed all the way down 00:09:23.22\00:09:24.83 to the bottom. 00:09:24.83\00:09:26.13 I repeated the words, " I can" 00:09:26.13\00:09:27.76 "do all things through Christ" 00:09:27.76\00:09:29.46 "Who strengthens me." 00:09:29.46\00:09:31.37 >> I can assure you that when 00:09:31.37\00:09:32.80 it comes to dealing with 00:09:32.80\00:09:34.07 heights now, my husband is a 00:09:34.07\00:09:36.57 lot better than he was then. 00:09:36.57\00:09:38.34 It is amazing how he is able 00:09:38.34\00:09:40.51 to walk on swinging bridges, 00:09:40.51\00:09:42.28 climb ladders and trees, and 00:09:42.28\00:09:44.01 even climb mountains and not 00:09:44.01\00:09:46.18 feel paralyzed as he once did. 00:09:46.18\00:09:49.08 It really does come down to 00:09:49.08\00:09:50.85 this one thought: 00:09:50.85\00:09:52.39 And when your mind is renewed 00:09:57.06\00:09:59.16 as it says in Romans 12, 00:09:59.16\00:10:00.96 verse 2, you are transformed. 00:10:00.96\00:10:03.63 When you change the way you 00:10:03.63\00:10:05.00 look at things, the things you 00:10:05.00\00:10:06.74 look at change. 00:10:06.74\00:10:08.77 You see, when Michael's mind 00:10:08.77\00:10:11.04 was controlled by fear, he was 00:10:11.04\00:10:12.97 stuck, paralyzed by the 00:10:12.97\00:10:14.98 thought of rock climbing. 00:10:14.98\00:10:16.78 But when he changed the way he 00:10:16.78\00:10:18.28 looked at rock climbing, it 00:10:18.28\00:10:19.95 was no longer fearful to him. 00:10:19.95\00:10:22.58 >> There's a song we want you 00:10:22.58\00:10:23.72 to listen to for his lost sheep and 00:14:57.89\00:14:59.63 coming around the corner, he 00:14:59.63\00:15:01.40 meets God in a burning bush. 00:15:01.40\00:15:05.67 We find the story in the Bible 00:15:05.67\00:15:07.67 in Exodus chapters 3 and 4. 00:15:07.67\00:15:11.24 >> God said to that dusty old 00:15:11.24\00:15:13.24 Shephard whose name is Moses, 00:15:13.24\00:15:15.54 >> Then Moses asks God in 00:15:42.07\00:15:43.64 Exodus 4, verse 1: 00:15:43.64\00:15:45.81 "It's just an old stick" 00:16:03.63\00:16:05.39 "that I use to herd sheep." 00:16:05.39\00:16:07.46 It's like he's saying, 00:16:07.46\00:16:08.80 "It's nothing." 00:16:08.80\00:16:09.93 "It's just a useless old" 00:16:09.93\00:16:11.30 "red paperclip." 00:16:11.30\00:16:13.64 >> But look at what the Bible 00:16:13.64\00:16:14.87 says in Hebrews 11, verse 3. 00:16:14.87\00:16:17.81 In other words, the Bible is 00:16:26.72\00:16:28.62 telling us that God created 00:16:28.62\00:16:31.59 everything out of nothing. 00:16:31.59\00:16:34.46 >> At least Moses had a stick 00:16:34.46\00:16:36.42 in his hand and Kyle McDonald 00:16:36.42\00:16:37.89 started with a red paperclip. 00:16:37.89\00:16:39.96 But God made everything 00:16:39.96\00:16:41.76 out of nothing. 00:16:41.76\00:16:43.06 He started with thin air. 00:16:43.06\00:16:45.67 >> When we place our trust in 00:16:45.67\00:16:47.34 God, we come to Him and say, 00:16:47.34\00:16:49.97 "Look at my life." 00:16:49.97\00:16:51.37 "I'm such a mess." 00:16:51.37\00:16:53.48 "I'm not good at anything." 00:16:53.48\00:16:55.11 And we have a list. 00:16:55.11\00:16:56.31 The list goes on and 00:16:56.31\00:16:57.55 on and on. 00:16:57.55\00:16:58.95 >> But just like Kyle 00:16:58.95\00:17:00.38 McDonald, you are not alone. 00:17:00.38\00:17:04.02 >> Believe it or not, besides 00:17:04.02\00:17:05.85 God, there are other people in 00:17:05.85\00:17:07.86 this world who are willing to 00:17:07.86\00:17:09.36 help you towards living a life 00:17:09.36\00:17:11.86 that is much bigger and better 00:17:11.86\00:17:13.73 than the life you are 00:17:13.73\00:17:14.73 now living. 00:17:14.73\00:17:15.86 >> So here's how most people 00:17:15.86\00:17:17.57 understand what happens when 00:17:17.57\00:17:19.10 you come to God and God comes 00:17:19.10\00:17:20.67 into your life. 00:17:20.67\00:17:21.84 You put your head down and you 00:17:21.84\00:17:23.20 read your Bible and you live 00:17:23.20\00:17:25.07 like, well, the Lone Ranger. 00:17:25.07\00:17:27.58 >> Who's the Lone Ranger? 00:17:27.58\00:17:29.44 >> The Lone Ranger is actually 00:17:29.44\00:17:30.88 a fictional masked cowboy who 00:17:30.88\00:17:33.55 fought against outlaws in the 00:17:33.55\00:17:34.78 Old West. 00:17:34.78\00:17:36.35 He was a solitary figure and 00:17:36.35\00:17:39.09 he did everything alone. 00:17:39.09\00:17:40.79 Except, it's kind of ironic, 00:17:40.79\00:17:42.26 he did have a friend whose 00:17:42.26\00:17:43.53 name was Tonto. 00:17:43.53\00:17:46.06 >> There is something called 00:17:46.06\00:17:47.60 the Lone Ranger Syndrome which 00:17:47.60\00:17:49.63 is the belief that we need to 00:17:49.63\00:17:51.03 do everything ourselves. 00:17:51.03\00:17:53.20 >> So if we apply the 00:17:53.20\00:17:55.30 Lone Ranger Syndrome to 00:17:55.30\00:17:58.27 Christianity, it is a belief 00:17:58.27\00:18:00.44 in a false efficiency. 00:18:00.44\00:18:03.41 A belief that if we do 00:18:03.41\00:18:05.28 everything ourselves, we will 00:18:05.28\00:18:07.38 get it done better, 00:18:07.38\00:18:08.25 quicker, faster. 00:18:08.25\00:18:10.62 [Rene] The reality is, every 00:18:10.62\00:18:12.99 Lone Ranger needs a Tonto. 00:18:12.99\00:18:15.66 [Mike] Yeah, Adam had Eve. 00:18:15.66\00:18:17.56 [Ren寯 The patriarchs Abraham, 00:18:17.56\00:18:18.99 Isaac, and Jacob had their 00:18:18.99\00:18:20.83 life partners Sarah, Rebekah, 00:18:20.83\00:18:22.43 and Rachel. 00:18:22.43\00:18:23.37 [Mike] And Moses had the 00:18:23.37\00:18:24.57 support of his brother, Aaron. 00:18:24.57\00:18:26.63 [Ren寯 And Daniel had the 00:18:26.63\00:18:28.00 support of his three friends 00:18:28.00\00:18:29.47 in Babylon. 00:18:29.47\00:18:30.71 >> And the Canadian blogger, 00:18:30.71\00:18:32.77 Kyle McDonald, didn't make it 00:18:32.77\00:18:35.58 on his own either. 00:18:35.58\00:18:37.41 >> No, he had the support of a 00:18:37.41\00:18:39.31 lot of other people who were 00:18:39.31\00:18:40.82 willing to help him make his 00:18:40.82\00:18:42.05 dream come true, turning his 00:18:42.05\00:18:44.15 red paperclip into 00:18:44.15\00:18:45.82 a restaurant. 00:18:45.82\00:18:47.29 >> God knows that we need 00:18:47.29\00:18:49.06 each other. 00:18:49.06\00:18:50.59 [Ren寯 And He designed us with 00:18:50.59\00:18:52.69 a need to work together. 00:18:52.69\00:18:55.06 [Mike] When we work together, 00:18:55.06\00:18:56.40 we work better, smarter, 00:18:56.40\00:18:59.13 and achieve more. 00:18:59.13\00:19:00.80 Did you know that one massive 00:19:00.80\00:19:04.31 Belgian Draft horse can pull 00:19:04.31\00:19:06.71 up to 2000 pounds? 00:19:06.71\00:19:08.78 >> Mm hmm. 00:19:08.78\00:19:09.94 However, if two horses who are 00:19:09.94\00:19:12.78 complete strangers are 00:19:12.78\00:19:14.62 harnessed together, they can 00:19:14.62\00:19:16.48 pull, now get this: 00:19:16.48\00:19:18.92 12,000 pounds! 00:19:18.92\00:19:21.16 [Mike] Wow! 00:19:21.16\00:19:22.06 That's 6 times the weight one 00:19:22.06\00:19:24.09 horse can pull on its own. 00:19:24.09\00:19:25.63 >> Mm hmm. 00:19:25.63\00:19:27.00 Yes, we call that "synergy." 00:19:27.00\00:19:28.86 >> Synergy is when both horses 00:19:28.86\00:19:30.87 working together can pull a 00:19:30.87\00:19:32.37 greater weight than the two 00:19:32.37\00:19:34.20 horses can pull on their own 00:19:34.20\00:19:35.70 or separately. 00:19:35.70\00:19:37.11 >> But there's more. 00:19:37.11\00:19:38.57 If two horses are raised and 00:19:38.57\00:19:40.38 trained together to pull and 00:19:40.38\00:19:42.14 think as one, they can haul 00:19:42.14\00:19:44.51
