>>Bill: There is a tale told of that great English actor 00:00:02.43\00:00:06.30 Macready. An eminent preacher once said to him: "I wish you would explain to me 00:00:06.30\00:00:09.50 something." 00:00:09.50\00:00:10.66 "Well, what is it? 00:00:10.66\00:00:13.03 I don't know that I can explain anything to a preacher." 00:00:13.03\00:00:16.23 "What is the reason for the difference between you and me? 00:00:16.23\00:00:20.16 You are appearing before crowds night after night with fiction, 00:00:20.16\00:00:24.26 and the crowds come wherever you go. 00:00:24.26\00:00:27.63 I am preaching the essential and unchangeable truth, and I am not 00:00:27.63\00:00:32.80 getting any crowd at all." 00:00:32.80\00:00:34.03 Macready's answer was this: 00:00:36.56\00:00:38.50 ANNOUNCER: It has stood the test of time. 00:01:05.73\00:01:07.53 God's book: the Bible, 00:01:08.30\00:01:10.96 still relevant in today's complex world. 00:01:12.06\00:01:15.26 It Is Written, 00:01:15.90\00:01:17.86 sharing the messages of hope around the world. 00:01:19.10\00:01:22.30 There's a couple disciples I would like you to meet this week, James and John, 00:01:33.46\00:01:35.73 the sons of Zebedee. 00:01:35.73\00:01:37.23 We know very little about him. 00:01:37.23\00:01:40.36 In fact, note this, he never appears alive in the gospels 00:01:40.36\00:01:43.10 apart from John his brother in any incident. 00:01:43.10\00:01:45.26 They're inseparable in the gospels. 00:01:45.26\00:01:47.40 Now I believe it's important to note that he's always mentioned 00:01:47.40\00:01:48.96 before John. 00:01:48.96\00:01:51.93 And it probably not only indicates that he was older but 00:01:51.93\00:01:56.60 that he was the leader of this rather dynamic duo. 00:01:56.60\00:02:00.83 He is the strength. 00:02:00.83\00:02:01.96 He is the zeal. 00:02:01.96\00:02:02.80 He is the passion. 00:02:02.80\00:02:04.96 Now these brothers, James and John, were also fishermen and 00:02:04.96\00:02:09.23 their father was Zebedee. 00:02:09.23\00:02:11.40 And Zebedee was a fairly well-to-do man because he employed hired servants in 00:02:11.40\00:02:15.10 his business. 00:02:15.10\00:02:17.36 So they had a pretty good fishing business going up there 00:02:17.36\00:02:20.13 on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee. 00:02:20.13\00:02:22.20 James was part of that "inner circle" of disciples because he 00:02:22.20\00:02:26.26 was in the early calling. 00:02:26.26\00:02:30.06 John and Andrew were the first two, and certainly James would 00:02:30.06\00:02:35.73 be so close to John that he worked his way into that 00:02:35.73\00:02:41.50 intimacy. Now as you look at the Bible in terms of incidents, 00:02:41.50\00:02:47.20 James appears more as a silhouette than a photograph. 00:02:47.20\00:02:51.63 So you have to kind of get an image without all of the fullness of what might 00:02:51.63\00:02:55.33 have happened. 00:02:55.33\00:02:57.73 But I think the best way to look at James is to consider what the 00:02:57.73\00:03:01.03 Lord named him and his brother John. 00:03:01.03\00:03:04.30 In Mark 3:17 Jesus gave them a name, He called them Boanerges 00:03:04.30\00:03:16.60 which means sons of thunder. 00:03:16.60\00:03:19.73 If James is the leader, and that is indicated by the fact that he 00:03:31.10\00:03:36.86 appears first, then he was a son of thunder. 00:03:36.86\00:03:40.70 Now he must have been a passionate, zealous, fervent, 00:03:40.70\00:03:44.06 wild-eyed, ambitious, aggressive guy. 00:03:44.06\00:03:48.06 To give you a classic reason why, in Acts Herod decided to 00:03:48.06\00:03:54.36 vex the church and the first guy he went after was James and he chopped off his head. 00:03:54.36\00:04:00.46 And they took Peter and put him in jail. 00:04:00.46\00:04:04.60 Which indicates that Peter was not as big a problem as James. 00:04:04.60\00:04:10.23 I mean, when you capture James and Peter and kill James and let 00:04:10.23\00:04:16.00 Peter live, that says something about the kind of man James must 00:04:16.00\00:04:21.00 have been. Zeal is a great virtue. 00:04:21.00\00:04:25.93 You love someone who is aggressive and whose charged up 00:04:25.93\00:04:31.13 and who wants to get the job done but very often coming along with zeal comes a lack of 00:04:31.13\00:04:36.90 wisdom. 00:04:36.90\00:04:39.23 And sometimes you're shooting off your mouth and your guns are 00:04:39.23\00:04:43.00 blazing before you've really thought the thing through. 00:04:43.00\00:04:45.26 You say - Can God use somebody like that? 00:04:45.26\00:04:48.10 Well yes, He did as a matter of fact. 00:04:48.10\00:04:51.73 Several incidents stand out and I'll show you where James is 00:04:51.73\00:04:56.70 mentioned and the way he acts. 00:04:56.70\00:04:58.76 Luke 9:51 - 53 00:04:58.76\00:05:03.13 The messengers are going now into Samaria to prepare the way, 00:05:24.73\00:05:28.60 "And they entered into a village of Samaria to make ready for 00:05:28.60\00:05:32.10 him." They wanted the Samaritans to hear the message, Christ was 00:05:32.10\00:05:36.66 coming, the Messiah was coming. 00:05:36.66\00:05:38.73 "And they didn't receive him because his face was as though 00:05:38.73\00:05:43.10 he would go to Jerusalem." 00:05:43.10\00:05:44.93 Listen, Samaritans just hated the Jews and Jerusalem. 00:05:44.93\00:05:47.66 They probably chased these messengers out with curses and 00:05:47.66\00:05:53.56 stones. And so the messengers come back and say they're not going to receive You in 00:05:53.56\00:05:57.40 such and such a village. 00:05:57.40\00:06:00.10 And then verse 54 we meet the sons of thunder: 00:06:00.10\00:06:04.96 Lord, let's just burn them up. 00:06:19.73\00:06:22.06 Great missionary heart. 00:06:22.06\00:06:25.13 Just consume them Lord, just like Elijah did. 00:06:25.13\00:06:29.26 Luke 9:55 00:06:29.26\00:06:30.56 Jesus rebuked them strongly, they were hateful, they were 00:06:40.90\00:06:44.63 intolerant. 00:06:44.63\00:06:46.33 James had so much zeal and so little sensitivity. 00:06:46.33\00:06:51.23 Yet I have to admit there's a touch of nobility in it. 00:06:51.23\00:06:56.83 I'm glad that he got mad when the Lord was dishonored. 00:06:56.83\00:06:59.56 I would hate to have seen him pass without a reaction at all. 00:06:59.56\00:07:04.86 He was zealous. 00:07:04.86\00:07:05.96 He was explosive. 00:07:05.96\00:07:07.06 He was fervent. 00:07:07.06\00:07:08.30 He was passionate. 00:07:08.30\00:07:10.10 I mean, he didn't just sit and watch it happen. 00:07:10.10\00:07:15.56 Look at another incident in Matthew 20:20 - 21 Very often 00:07:15.56\00:07:25.73 zealous people are also ambitious people, they're very goal oriented, very task 00:07:25.73\00:07:31.03 oriented. 00:07:31.03\00:07:32.56 Would You put my boys on the two thrones next to You? 00:07:52.60\00:07:58.60 I mean, it should be obvious to You that they're the cream of 00:07:58.60\00:08:02.40 the crop. 00:08:02.40\00:08:03.70 A mother knows these things. 00:08:03.70\00:08:05.90 My children are gifted we can see it, Zebedee and I. 00:08:05.90\00:08:09.26 But they were ambitious. 00:08:09.26\00:08:11.60 James was ambitious. 00:08:11.60\00:08:13.90 This is a terrible thing for them to do, to arouse the spirit 00:08:13.90\00:08:19.00 of rivalry, to clamor for honor from the Lord. 00:08:19.00\00:08:22.36 These who were the persecutors of the Samaritans are now 00:08:22.36\00:08:28.56 ambitious, self-seeking, place hunters, stalking the favor of 00:08:28.56\00:08:34.66 the Lord as if He were some despotic ruler who could dispense his patronage on some 00:08:34.66\00:08:39.40 kind of principle of favoritism. 00:08:39.40\00:08:42.70 They were demeaning Christ and His Kingdom. 00:08:42.70\00:08:46.90 Well, James had zeal, he had great fervor and he knew the 00:08:46.90\00:08:52.63 Lord's special interest in him, he was in the inside group. 00:08:52.63\00:08:56.03 He felt he ought to have an equal reward for all of his 00:08:56.03\00:09:01.03 capability. And the Lord reminded him, you'll get a reward, James, but it won't be 00:09:01.03\00:09:04.80 what you think. 00:09:04.80\00:09:08.96 Before you get your throne you're going to get a cup and your going to drink it 00:09:08.96\00:09:13.46 all the way. 00:09:13.46\00:09:15.50 And the cup is suffering because the way to the throne is always 00:09:15.50\00:09:19.26 the way of the cross. 00:09:19.26\00:09:21.43 And James, as I said, fourteen years later got his request. 00:09:21.43\00:09:27.80 He wanted a crown, Jesus gave him a cup. 00:09:27.80\00:09:31.50 He wanted power, Jesus gave him servanthood. 00:09:31.50\00:09:34.73 He wanted to rule, Jesus gave him a martyr's grave. 00:09:34.73\00:09:39.33 That's the way it is. 00:09:39.33\00:09:43.56 Look at the one incident in the Bible where he appears alone, 00:09:43.56\00:09:46.73 Acts 12. And when Herod wanted to attack the church he went right for the main guy, 00:10:00.16\00:10:02.76 That's who you go for first.. . 00:10:09.13\00:10:14.53 and he put Peter in prison. 00:10:14.53\00:10:18.13 And apparently he didn't even think about Peter until he was 00:10:18.13\00:10:22.16 told that it would please the Jews if he did that. 00:10:22.16\00:10:26.03 It was James he was after.. . 00:10:26.03\00:10:27.53 the son of thunder. 00:10:27.53\00:10:28.90 He was filled with zeal. 00:10:28.90\00:10:31.23 He was filled with ambition. 00:10:31.23\00:10:33.10 He was filled with strong and intolerant feelings. 00:10:33.10\00:10:36.60 He didn't like things outside his own sympathy and Christ had 00:10:36.60\00:10:41.66 to harness all of that and make all of that into something useful and make him a 00:10:41.66\00:10:46.20 pillar in the church. 00:10:46.20\00:10:48.66 What kind of people does God use? 00:10:48.66\00:10:51.66 Well, He uses the great leaders like Peter. 00:10:51.66\00:10:54.83 He uses the quiet, behind-the-scenes, obscure, 00:10:54.83\00:10:59.03 faithful people like Andrew. 00:10:59.03\00:11:01.26 And He also can use the brash, courageous, ambitious, zealous, 00:11:01.26\00:11:05.63 sometimes loveless, insensitive selfish people like James. 00:11:05.63\00:11:11.96 Cause Christ brought his temper under control. 00:11:11.96\00:11:14.96 He bridled his tongue. 00:11:14.96\00:11:16.30 He directed his zeal. 00:11:16.30\00:11:19.43 And He taught him to seek no revenge and to desire no honor 00:11:19.43\00:11:25.93 for himself. And it finally came to the place where James was willing to die for Jesus. 00:11:25.93\00:11:30.60 So, both the brothers drank the cup. 00:11:30.60\00:11:34.53 For John the cup was a long life of rejection and a death in 00:11:34.53\00:11:40.63 exile. For James it was a short flame and martyrdom. 00:11:40.63\00:11:48.50 The Romans had a coin years ago and on the coin was an ox. 00:11:48.50\00:11:53.56 And the ox was facing an altar and a plow. 00:11:53.56\00:11:58.13 And under the ox it said, "Ready for either." 00:11:58.13\00:12:02.73 And that's how it is in service for Christ and that's how it was 00:12:02.73\00:12:05.60 for the sons of thunder. 00:12:05.60\00:12:08.76 There is the moment dramatic sacrifice on the altar, that was 00:12:08.76\00:12:14.86 James. And there is the long furrow of the plow, that was 00:12:14.86\00:12:20.16 John. But both of them drank the cup. 00:12:20.16\00:12:22.76 James had to learn sensitivity. 00:12:22.76\00:12:26.36 He had to learn to quiet his ambition, but he did and God 00:12:26.36\00:12:31.13 used him. You know, a lack of sensitivity can just destroy a 00:12:31.13\00:12:35.50 ministry. There are many people who try to serve Christ who are utterly insensitive to 00:12:35.50\00:12:41.06 their congregations, to their families, to the people around 00:12:41.06\00:12:44.26 them. Zeal with insensitivity is so cruel. 00:12:44.26\00:12:48.26 And James had to be refined. 00:12:48.26\00:12:51.93 I mean, he had to get from the place where he said - Just burn 00:12:51.93\00:12:55.63 them up, Lord, if they don't cooperate, burn them up. 00:12:55.63\00:12:57.46 - to the place where he cared. 00:12:57.46\00:13:00.80 Now if you're going to ask me.. . 00:13:00.80\00:13:04.40 you're going to force me to the corner and ask me to choose, 00:13:04.40\00:13:09.76 I'll take a man of a flaming, burning intolerant passionate 00:13:09.76\00:13:15.13 enthusiasm with a potential for failure rather than a cold, compromising, milk toast 00:13:15.13\00:13:22.30 about which his brother John said - God would spew him out of 00:13:22.30\00:13:29.60 His mouth... Give me a fiery heart, give me a flaming heart because those people will 00:13:29.60\00:13:33.76 set the world on fire, but give me one with sensitivity. 00:13:33.76\00:13:37.60 What kind of men does God use? 00:13:37.60\00:13:40.16 What kind of women does God use? 00:13:40.16\00:13:42.10 What kind of people fit into the plan? 00:13:42.10\00:13:45.16 Dynamic people like Peter, leaders who can get everybody to 00:13:45.16\00:13:50.76 do it. Humble people like Andrew who just do it quietly behind 00:13:50.76\00:13:55.20 the scenes. And James who don't really need other people to do it, they just do it with 00:13:55.20\00:13:59.16 zeal and passion. 00:13:59.16\00:14:02.46 You say - You mean the Lord can use all those kinds of people? 00:14:02.46\00:14:05.43 You don't have to be born with a halo? 00:14:05.43\00:14:07.23 You can just be a person? 00:14:07.23\00:14:11.56 Yes, these are very common people because He can transform 00:14:11.56\00:14:18.46 all of those things. 00:14:18.46\00:14:21.03 John, James' brother, intersects the story throughout the New 00:14:21.03\00:14:27.90 Testament because of the fact that he wrote the gospel of 00:14:27.90\00:14:32.90 John, First, Second and Third John and Revelation. 00:14:32.90\00:14:35.83 Now may I hasten to add, we think about John, we think about 00:14:35.83\00:14:40.73 some meek, mild, pale-skinned, effeminate guy lying around with 00:14:40.73\00:14:45.50 his head on Jesus' shoulder, looking up with a dove-eyed stare, with little skinny arms, 00:14:45.50\00:14:49.90 you know. 00:14:49.90\00:14:52.23 You've missed it, folks, if that's what you think. 00:14:52.23\00:14:55.46 He was in all those incidents about James that we just saw. 00:14:55.46\00:15:00.10 And he was one of the sons of thunder. 00:15:00.10\00:15:03.03 He was intolerant - burn them up, Lord - he was ambitious -I 00:15:03.03\00:15:06.73 want the seat on your right and left - he was zealous, he was 00:15:06.73\00:15:07.93 explosive. But I think not quite as much as James. 00:15:07.93\00:15:14.20 James seems to be the prominent one and John does seem to have a 00:15:14.20\00:15:17.96 side to him. 00:15:17.96\00:15:19.76 I mean, at least John lasted. 00:15:19.76\00:15:22.43 He lived nearly until the year 100. 00:15:22.43\00:15:25.33 He outlived everybody. 00:15:25.33\00:15:27.80 Now it's interesting to note that the only time he appears 00:15:27.80\00:15:31.96 alone by name, you know what he's doing? 00:15:31.96\00:15:34.00 He's mad at somebody. 00:15:34.00\00:15:35.93 Whose he mad at? 00:15:35.93\00:15:37.73 Some guy who was casting out demons. 00:15:37.73\00:15:40.60 Why was he mad? 00:15:40.60\00:15:44.03 He said to Jesus, "There is a man casting out demons and he's 00:15:44.03\00:15:47.80 not in our group." 00:15:47.80\00:15:49.66 He's not in our group. 00:15:49.66\00:15:51.16 "I forbade him to do that." 00:15:51.16\00:15:53.26 Jesus replies in Mark 9: 39 - 40. 00:15:53.26\00:15:57.63 But you know something? 00:16:13.20\00:16:15.90 That became a strength in his character. 00:16:15.90\00:16:19.56 Because he also had a tremendous capacity úfor love. 00:16:19.56\00:16:23.66 You find two things that stand out in John's life, the word 00:16:23.66\00:16:28.16 love and the word witness. 00:16:28.16\00:16:29.70 80 time he uses the word love. 00:16:29.70\00:16:33.40 70+ times the word witness in one form or another. 00:16:33.40\00:16:36.40 He was a truth seeker. 00:16:36.40\00:16:39.13 He wanted to know the truth. 00:16:39.13\00:16:40.80 He was a discoverer. 00:16:40.80\00:16:42.06 He was a visionary. 00:16:42.06\00:16:44.13 He it was who first recognized the Lord at the lakeside of 00:16:44.13\00:16:50.10 Galilee. He it was who first saw that Jesus was risen from the 00:16:50.10\00:16:55.50 dead. He it was to whom God revealed the future in the 00:16:55.50\00:17:01.20 apocalypse. He was the seer, the visionary, the truth seeker. 00:17:01.20\00:17:06.90 The reason he was hanging around Christ's breast was his heart 00:17:06.90\00:17:12.56 literally hungered for the truth as well as the deep affection 00:17:12.56\00:17:16.36 for Christ. He wanted to gather every word that came out of his Lord's lips as well as 00:17:16.36\00:17:21.86 bask in the light of His love. 00:17:21.86\00:17:25.23 So, he became a lover but a lover whose love was controlled 00:17:25.23\00:17:32.10 by the truth. And that control was born out of that tremendous 00:17:32.10\00:17:36.70 zeal he had in his personality, that passion, that strength, that fiery character. 00:17:36.70\00:17:40.90 And in case you don't think he is, you try reading First, 00:17:40.90\00:17:46.63 Second and Third John and see how he denounces those who are antichrist, and those who 00:17:46.63\00:17:53.43 will stand up in church to twist and pervert, he's firm, he's 00:17:53.43\00:18:00.46 strong. You read the gospel of John and see how he sets the people of God against 00:18:00.46\00:18:05.43 the people of Satan, the redeemed against the lost. 00:18:05.43\00:18:09.40 How he talks about the judgment of the righteous and the 00:18:09.40\00:18:12.93 unrighteous. The man knew where the lines were drawn and his 00:18:12.93\00:18:16.36 love is never sentimentalism. 00:18:16.36\00:18:20.23 But he is characterized by love. 00:18:20.23\00:18:23.23 You just don't see much about him in the other gospels unless 00:18:23.23\00:18:27.53 it's with James, as I showed you, or in the list of the 00:18:27.53\00:18:31.00 group. But where he emerges is in his own gospel and he appears 00:18:31.00\00:18:36.10 in his own gospel several times, always the same way. 00:18:36.10\00:18:41.13 How? 00:18:41.13\00:18:42.93 Listen, John 13:23: 00:18:42.93\00:18:46.90 Whom Jesus loved, the disciple that Jesus loved, that's John. 00:18:55.63\00:18:58.16 He never uses His name. 00:18:58.16\00:19:02.53 He calls himself the disciple whom Jesus loved. 00:19:02.53\00:19:09.66 People who can love greatly can be loved greatly because they 00:19:09.66\00:19:13.70 understand. 00:19:13.70\00:19:16.30 And John literally took in the love of Christ and gave out the 00:19:16.30\00:19:21.66 love of Christ, so he called himself the disciple whom Jesus 00:19:21.66\00:19:26.60 loved. That's the only thing he ever called him. 00:19:26.60\00:19:30.66 It is the disciple, whom Jesus loved, that wrote the gospel of 00:19:30.66\00:19:37.36 John, that's what he says. 00:19:37.36\00:19:40.00 He literally was in awe that Jesus loved him. 00:19:40.00\00:19:44.53 It wasn't that he said - "Oh, I'm so wonderful, the Lord loves 00:19:44.53\00:19:49.70 me so much, I just want you to know I'm the disciple He loved. 00:19:49.70\00:19:54.30 " No, it was the very opposite - I, the one who wanted to burn up 00:19:54.30\00:20:00.96 all the Samaritans - I the one who wanted Jesus to give me the place I didn't even 00:20:00.96\00:20:04.63 deserve - I am one whom He loves. 00:20:04.63\00:20:08.46 It's a celebration of grace. 00:20:08.46\00:20:10.93 Jesus never had to ask John if he loved Him, but He did have to 00:20:10.93\00:20:15.26 ask Peter that. 00:20:15.26\00:20:17.43 Jesus never had to ask John to follow Him, but He did have to 00:20:17.43\00:20:22.20 ask Peter that. 00:20:22.20\00:20:25.00 And when it came down to passing out the work, He said to Peter - 00:20:25.00\00:20:28.30 Feed My sheep. 00:20:28.30\00:20:30.83 He said to John -Take care of My mother. 00:20:30.83\00:20:34.06 There was something special about John. 00:20:34.06\00:20:37.10 Tradition tells us that John never left the city of Jerusalem 00:20:37.10\00:20:42.83 until Mary the mother of Jesus died, because he kept his vow to 00:20:42.83\00:20:47.66 the Lord. So, John was a son of thunder but he was a tender-loving man who 00:20:47.66\00:20:55.26 would never compromise his convictions. 00:20:55.26\00:20:57.63 He taught on love. 00:20:57.63\00:21:01.53 And so, the Lord can use that kind of man. 00:21:01.53\00:21:04.33 The man with a great love. 00:21:04.33\00:21:08.53 There are the James who just live their life on passion, 00:21:08.53\00:21:15.73 zeal, fervor, fire, sparks flying everywhere. 00:21:15.73\00:21:18.63 And there are the Johns who can harness the truth in love. 00:21:18.63\00:21:21.03 And they'll last and attract people to Christ. 00:21:21.03\00:21:26.76 And God uses all kinds. 00:21:26.76\00:21:31.40 John lived to be an old man but he was always the son of 00:21:31.40\00:21:37.86 thunder. So what kind of people can God use? 00:21:37.86\00:21:43.96 Dynamic, strong, bold, a leader like Peter, who took charge, who 00:21:43.96\00:21:49.03 initiated, who planned, who strategized, who confronted, who 00:21:49.03\00:21:53.50 commanded people to Christ. 00:21:53.50\00:21:55.16 And very often blew it. 00:21:55.16\00:21:58.70 Another was humble, gentle, inconspicuous, Andrew who didn't 00:21:58.70\00:22:03.06 see the crowds but saw the individuals in the crowds. 00:22:03.06\00:22:06.53 And while he never attracted a mob he kept bringing people to 00:22:06.53\00:22:12.26 Jesus. And then He picked a man who was zealous, passionate, 00:22:12.26\00:22:16.60 uncompromising, insensitive at first, ambitious, who could see 00:22:16.60\00:22:22.03 a goal and go for it with all his might and die in the 00:22:22.03\00:22:26.33 process, James. And then there was sensitive, loving, believing, intimate John, 00:22:26.33\00:22:32.96 every bit a truth seeker. 00:22:32.96\00:22:35.86 Who spoke the truth in love so that he attracted people to 00:22:35.86\00:22:41.10 himself. Jesus made them into fishers of men in spite of what 00:22:41.10\00:22:49.53 they were. Listen, Christ can take a very common person and make them a very uncommon 00:22:49.53\00:22:58.36 Apostle. 00:22:58.36\00:23:01.03 Are you available for that? 00:23:01.03\00:23:03.06 Let us Pray. 00:23:04.80\00:23:06.96 Lord, again we thank You for the fact that this is such a 00:23:06.96\00:23:12.50 heartening word to us. 00:23:12.50\00:23:14.10 That You can use us in spite of ourselves. 00:23:14.10\00:23:17.40 Not as we are, so much, but as You will make us and mold us and 00:23:17.40\00:23:24.66 shape us. May we be willing to start out as learners, disciples, to become 00:23:24.66\00:23:30.90 apostles, trained to be sent for Your glory in Christ's name. 00:23:30.90\00:23:36.76 Amen. 00:23:36.76\00:23:39.56 >>Bev: Hi, everyone! 00:24:22.20\00:24:24.93 Are you using chia seeds as yet in your daily eating? 00:24:24.93\00:24:26.40 Chia seeds are tiny - smaller than a sesame seed - but they 00:24:26.40\00:24:31.46 pack a huge nutritional punch. 00:24:31.46\00:24:34.03 In fact, they are regarded as a super-food! 00:24:34.03\00:24:37.43 They are high in dietary fibreand in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential 00:24:37.43\00:24:41.60 to good health, and are a delicious source of protein. 00:24:41.60\00:24:45.86 When soaked in liquid, the seeds form a gel, much like flax seeds 00:24:45.86\00:24:50.63 do.
