>>Bill: One Sabbath morning, a mother said to her ten-year-old 00:00:02.40\00:00:06.23 son: "Billy, I'm not feeling well enough to go to church 00:00:06.23\00:00:11.93 today, but I do want you to go on as usual. and then you can tell me all about it. 00:00:11.93\00:00:13.90 " Obediently, Billy carried out his mom's wish. 00:00:13.90\00:00:18.43 When he returned home, his mother asked: "Well, Billy, how 00:00:18.43\00:00:21.60 was church? " "Fine," Billy responded. 00:00:21.60\00:00:23.83 "Where did you sit? 00:00:23.83\00:00:25.63 " Mom asked. 00:00:25.63\00:00:28.30 "O, I think I sat in about the same place we always sit. 00:00:28.30\00:00:30.70 " Billy's answer was just vague enough to make mothers 00:00:30.70\00:00:34.60 suspicious. "What was the sermon about," she asked. 00:00:34.60\00:00:38.63 Again as 10 year-old boys will do, Billy fumbled a bit for an 00:00:38.63\00:00:44.53 answer. But, finally, he said: "Oh.Uh. Let's see. O yes I 00:00:44.53\00:00:48.83 remember now. It was something about 'Keep your shirt on and you will get a blanket. 00:00:48.83\00:00:53.16 '" That did it. 00:00:53.16\00:00:55.33 Billy's mother called the pastor and asked him what the sermon 00:00:55.33\00:01:00.76 text was. He answered, "It was. 'Be Patient and the Comforter 00:01:00.76\00:01:04.80 Will Come! ANNOUNCER: It has stood the test of time. 00:01:17.86\00:01:19.93 God's book: the Bible, 00:01:20.66\00:01:23.36 still relevant in today's complex world. 00:01:24.46\00:01:27.96 It Is Written, 00:01:28.60\00:01:30.46 sharing the messages of hope around the world. 00:01:31.70\00:01:35.10 "Be Patient and the comforter Will Come. 00:01:58.26\00:02:02.00 " Actually, that's a pretty good verse to remember these days 00:02:02.00\00:02:03.50 because we live now in a tough and tense world that often "stresses us to the 00:02:03.50\00:02:07.63 max. 00:02:07.63\00:02:11.23 " Desperately, we need the strength and comfort that God 00:02:11.23\00:02:17.03 alone can give. A few years ago, Statistics Canada published the 00:02:17.03\00:02:20.73 following facts about stress levels in Canada . In 2008, 21% of males and 23% of 00:02:20.73\00:02:27.70 females aged 15 or older reported that most days were 00:02:27.70\00:02:33.20 quite a bit or extremely stressful. 00:02:33.20\00:02:36.73 Both male and female seniors were less likely to report daily 00:02:36.73\00:02:41.33 stress than were Canadians overall. 00:02:41.33\00:02:44.03 Overall, females were more likely then males to report that 00:02:44.03\00:02:49.50 most days were quite a bit or extremely stressful, particularly at ages 15 to 24 00:02:49.50\00:02:54.66 and 35 to 44. 00:02:54.66\00:02:58.16 Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, 00:02:58.16\00:03:02.63 Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories were 00:03:02.63\00:03:07.86 significantly less likely than Canadians overall to report that 00:03:07.86\00:03:13.40 most days were quite a bit or extremely stressful. 00:03:13.40\00:03:18.23 Only Quebec residents reported higher levels of stress than did 00:03:18.23\00:03:20.83 Canadians overall. 00:03:20.83\00:03:23.66 Also according to Stats Canada . Stress is a common aspect of 00:03:23.66\00:03:28.23 life and can have negative consequences for health. 00:03:28.23\00:03:32.66 These consequences include direct impacts on mental health 00:03:32.66\00:03:37.26 and the onset and progression of physical illness. 00:03:37.26\00:03:40.50 In addition, stress may also influence health indirectly 00:03:40.50\00:03:45.20 through health behaviours such as smoking, drug use, and excessive eating and 00:03:45.20\00:03:49.06 alcohol related behaviours. 00:03:49.06\00:03:53.60 Canadians who were physically active in their leisure time 00:03:53.60\00:03:56.53 reported lower levels of stress. 00:03:56.53\00:04:00.86 Seniors who perceived low levels of stress were about twice as 00:04:00.86\00:04:04.26 likely to be in good health as were those with high stress 00:04:04.26\00:04:06.90 level We have our Medical contributor Dr. Viriato Ferreira 00:04:09.96\00:04:15.10 with us - Doctor talk to us about this link between health and stress, I read one report 00:04:15.10\00:04:21.93 that says . Approximately half of all diseases can be linked to 00:04:21.93\00:04:29.63 stress-related origins, including ulcers, colitis, bronchial asthma, high blood 00:04:29.63\00:04:34.06 pressure and some forms of cancer. 00:04:34.06\00:04:37.00 What's the link? 00:04:37.00\00:04:39.76 Thank you Bill. 00:04:41.33\00:04:43.53 Many studies show that stress is potentially very serious to our 00:04:43.53\00:04:48.86 health and I am sure that most of you out there have experienced stress in your lives 00:04:48.86\00:04:52.23 but. before I continue let us first define what stress is. 00:04:52.23\00:04:55.63 First of all let me tell you that our bodies are wired to 00:04:55.63\00:04:59.43 react to events that make us afraid, angry or sad. 00:04:59.43\00:05:02.10 Let's just imagine the following scenario: It's late and you have 00:05:02.10\00:05:07.03 just parked your car in what you thought was a deserted parking 00:05:07.03\00:05:11.40 lot. You get out of the car and notice a group of young guys walking towards you. 00:05:11.40\00:05:14.33 How would you feel? 00:05:14.33\00:05:16.43 How would you react? 00:05:16.43\00:05:19.33 Would you run or would you get back in the car and try to get 00:05:19.33\00:05:22.00 away from thereasap? 00:05:22.00\00:05:24.33 How fast would your heart be beating at that moment? 00:05:24.33\00:05:27.06 Pumping like crazy, isn't it? 00:05:27.06\00:05:30.63 What you have just experienced is a normal response from your 00:05:30.63\00:05:34.06 body commonly known as a "fight-or- flight" reaction to 00:05:34.06\00:05:39.10 fear. Our bodies are wired for that, to protect us against 00:05:39.10\00:05:42.36 threats from aggression. 00:05:42.36\00:05:44.80 What I have just described may be a rare type of scenario but 00:05:44.80\00:05:49.40 that doesn't mean that life is free of stress. 00:05:49.40\00:05:53.13 On the contrary, we undoubtedly face multiple demands each day, 00:05:53.13\00:05:58.80 such as a huge workload, making ends meet, taking care of our family, or just making 00:05:58.80\00:06:01.53 it through the morning rush hour. 00:06:01.53\00:06:05.56 The difference is that our bodies treat these so-called 00:06:05.56\00:06:10.06 minor hassles as threats and as a result we may feel as if we are constantly under assault, 00:06:10.06\00:06:16.46 with potentially serious consequences for our health.Let's have a quick 00:06:16.46\00:06:19.93 look at why. 00:06:19.93\00:06:22.30 When we encounter perceived threats, our brainsets off an 00:06:22.30\00:06:26.40 alarm system in the rest of the body. 00:06:26.40\00:06:30.23 This system prompts our adrenal glands, located atop our 00:06:30.23\00:06:33.53 kidneys, to release a surge of hormones, including adrenaline 00:06:33.53\00:06:38.50 and cortisol. Adrenaline increases our heart rate, raises our blood pressure and boosts 00:06:38.50\00:06:42.43 energy supplies. 00:06:42.43\00:06:46.16 On the other hand, cortisolincreases blood sugar in 00:06:46.16\00:06:51.20 our bloodstream, enhances our brain functions and mkes us more 00:06:51.20\00:06:54.66 alert. However, cortisol also slows down some unnecessary 00:06:54.66\00:06:59.46 functions that would be non-essential or detrimental in a fight-or-flight situation. 00:06:59.46\00:07:05.00 It slows down the immune system, slows down digestion and it also 00:07:05.00\00:07:08.53 slows down growth. 00:07:08.53\00:07:11.16 And there is more! 00:07:11.16\00:07:13.46 When we are stressed, messages are sent to other regions of the 00:07:13.46\00:07:16.90 brain that control the way we feel and how motivated we are. 00:07:16.90\00:07:20.83 But you may ask: "if this is normal when does it become a 00:07:20.83\00:07:26.66 problem? The beauty of this in-built stress response system 00:07:26.66\00:07:31.56 is that it is usually self-regulating which means that after the threat is gone, 00:07:31.56\00:07:36.46 adrenaline and cortisol levels drop, our heart rate and blood pressure return to the 00:07:36.46\00:07:41.36 initial levels, and other systems resume their regular 00:07:41.36\00:07:45.76 activities. But when the stressors of our life are always present, leaving us 00:07:45.76\00:07:50.90 constantly feeling stressed, tense, nervous or on edge, that 00:07:50.90\00:07:55.43 fight-or-flight reaction stays turned on. 00:07:55.43\00:07:59.33 The less control we have over potentially stressful events and 00:07:59.33\00:08:03.06 the more uncertainty they create, the more likely we are 00:08:03.06\00:08:07.83 to feel stressed. It comes to a point where our bodies become so 00:08:07.83\00:08:12.40 sensitive to even stressful events that even the typical day-to-day demands of living can 00:08:12.40\00:08:18.26 contribute to us feeling stressed or anxious. 00:08:18.26\00:08:21.80 But Bill's question was if this can affect our health? 00:08:21.80\00:08:26.13 . 00:08:26.13\00:08:28.23 Research shows that stress puts us at increased risk of numerous 00:08:28.23\00:08:31.53 health problems, including, Heart disease, Cancer, Sleep problems, Digestive 00:08:31.53\00:08:36.50 problems, difficulties with memory, worsening of Asthma or 00:08:36.50\00:08:41.60 Eczema, Depression and many others. 00:08:41.60\00:08:44.36 In fact, the list is endless. 00:08:44.36\00:08:47.36 Let's have a look at a few of these starting with heart 00:08:47.36\00:08:50.30 disease. Adrenaline raises the blood pressure which hardens our 00:08:50.30\00:08:53.76 arteries. Over an extended period of time, this puts extra stress on the heart and 00:08:53.76\00:08:58.80 may increase cholesterol deposition inside the arteries. 00:08:58.80\00:09:02.76 High adrenaline may also make the heart more likely to beat 00:09:02.76\00:09:07.26 fast and irregularly, giving what we call "arrhythmias". 00:09:07.26\00:09:10.90 The blood may also becoming stickier and form clots more 00:09:10.90\00:09:15.23 easily which could end up in a heart attack or a stroke. 00:09:15.23\00:09:21.20 In fact, about half of the heart attacks occur within 24 hours 00:09:21.20\00:09:26.06 after a major stressful event, which is quite scary! 00:09:26.06\00:09:29.43 Let's look at another one - Cancer. 00:09:29.43\00:09:33.60 Continued stress lowers our bodies'natural defenses against 00:09:33.60\00:09:37.66 infection and cancer and this may let some cancer cells go unchecked and start 00:09:37.66\00:09:41.06 multiplying. 00:09:41.06\00:09:42.86 But stress can also lead to poor sleep. 00:09:42.86\00:09:47.00 In fact, it is the commonest cause of insomnia and also of 00:09:47.00\00:09:49.73 lack of sexual interest or impotence. 00:09:49.73\00:09:53.53 As you can see, stress is a serious matter and if you suffer 00:09:53.53\00:09:57.16 from it you should seek help. 00:09:57.16\00:09:59.83 Medication may have it's place in treating it for a short time 00:09:59.83\00:10:03.26 but the best is to go to the root of the problem and deal 00:10:03.26\00:10:06.80 with it. If you are stressed you should try these: Eating a healthy diet and getting 00:10:06.80\00:10:11.70 regular exercise and plenty of sleep. 00:10:11.70\00:10:14.03 This really helps. 00:10:14.03\00:10:16.36 Learn to un-focus on the problem. 00:10:16.36\00:10:19.13 Often time will help solve it. 00:10:19.13\00:10:24.00 Foster healthy friendships and last but not least. have a sense 00:10:24.00\00:10:28.93 of humor. But let's get back to you, Bill. 00:10:28.93\00:10:30.03 Thank you Dr. Ferreira. 00:10:31.40\00:10:33.96 Health Canada's website says the following are signs that you are 00:10:33.96\00:10:36.86 over stressed, they may include . Feelings of irritability, 00:10:36.86\00:10:39.16 sadness or guilt. 00:10:39.16\00:10:41.16 Change in sleep patterns. 00:10:41.16\00:10:42.93 Change in weight or appetite. 00:10:42.93\00:10:46.20 Difficulty in concentrating or making decisions. 00:10:46.20\00:10:49.56 Negative thinking. 00:10:49.56\00:10:51.76 Loss of interest, enjoyment or energy in something you used to 00:10:51.76\00:10:54.26 enjoy. 00:10:54.26\00:10:57.56 Restlessness I think I am over-stressed! 00:10:57.56\00:11:00.66 I asked Dr. Leader to join us to help us with some very practical 00:11:03.23\00:11:06.96 things we can all do to help cope with the stresses in our lives, recognizing that 00:11:06.96\00:11:12.16 everyone is different but there must be some things we can all 00:11:12.16\00:11:17.03 do to minimize the negative impact stress has on our lives, Dr. Leader thanks for 00:11:17.03\00:11:22.56 joining us! 00:11:22.56\00:11:24.46 Thank you Bill. 00:11:25.66\00:11:28.13 Without stress, life would be boring; we'd become lethargic 00:11:28.13\00:11:32.60 and have little or nothing to live for. 00:11:32.60\00:11:35.86 There'll be no challenges, no obstacles to overcome and no 00:11:35.86\00:11:39.90 satisfaction at having faced and overcome challenges and surmounted obstacles. 00:11:39.90\00:11:46.00 In a way, it's stress that gets us out of bed every day-the 00:11:46.00\00:11:51.76 pressure to pursue our goals and shoulder our responsibilities. 00:11:51.76\00:11:55.76 Stress becomes a problem only when there is too much demand 00:11:55.76\00:12:00.60 for the energy supply that we have available. 00:12:00.60\00:12:03.86 But, everyone's stress point is different. 00:12:03.86\00:12:07.96 It is very important to lead a balanced life so that our energy 00:12:07.96\00:12:12.80 supply will consistently exceed the demands on us. 00:12:12.80\00:12:17.50 It is important to avoid the illusion of the "superman" or 00:12:17.50\00:12:20.86 "superwoman". 00:12:20.86\00:12:24.16 This person does not exist as a truly contented person. 00:12:24.16\00:12:28.03 It is very important to avoid the l ife-sucking/draining 00:12:28.03\00:12:33.33 impetus to be driven to achieve at all cost. 00:12:33.33\00:12:37.46 In the end it can cost that which is most precious to us, be 00:12:37.46\00:12:42.36 it our health, our family, our relationships, our relationship 00:12:42.36\00:12:47.80 with God, our job or our sense of who we really are. 00:12:47.80\00:12:50.26 The good news is, our God is our source of rest and respite, and 00:12:52.53\00:12:57.40 the rest He offers is an antidote to a lot of things, 00:12:57.40\00:13:03.13 including burnout. Here are some things you can do to cope with the stresses in your lives. 00:13:03.13\00:13:09.53 Pick four or five that most appeal to you and start 00:13:09.53\00:13:13.53 incorporating same into your lives: Go to bed at a regular 00:13:13.53\00:13:18.86 time each night. Get at least eight hours of sleep. 00:13:18.86\00:13:22.53 Eat a balanced diet, making the last meal of the day the 00:13:22.53\00:13:27.43 lightest, taken several hours before bedtime. 00:13:27.43\00:13:31.43 Learn to say "no" sometimes. 00:13:31.43\00:13:35.03 There's no law that says you must always say "yes" to the 00:13:35.03\00:13:40.03 favours asked of you. 00:13:40.03\00:13:41.86 There are many ways to graciously decline. 00:13:41.86\00:13:46.33 Learning the value of saying "no" sometimes will result in 00:13:46.33\00:13:49.76 you feeling less angry, and less hassled. 00:13:49.76\00:13:53.46 Ask for help. 00:13:53.46\00:13:56.16 Don't be a martyr. 00:13:56.16\00:13:58.33 Allow time for fun and connections with friends, and 00:13:58.33\00:14:03.76 family. We need to move away from the tendency to allow ourselves to get sucked in 00:14:03.76\00:14:08.10 to busy activities, important though they may be, but 00:14:08.10\00:14:13.13 meaningless or far less important when we face times of 00:14:13.13\00:14:17.36 crisis. Engage in a meaningful exercise program. 00:14:17.36\00:14:22.00 Have regular personal devotion. 00:14:22.00\00:14:25.70 Meditate on God's goodness, and see Him as the source of your 00:14:25.70\00:14:29.56 strength. 00:14:29.56\00:14:31.50 Prioritize things on your to-do list. 00:14:31.50\00:14:35.16 Everything does not have to be done today. 00:14:35.16\00:14:39.16 When you feel stressed, focus only on those realistic 00:14:39.16\00:14:44.46 must-do-today items. 00:14:44.46\00:14:47.13 Finally, get rid of perfectionistic tendencies for the sake of personal 00:14:47.13\00:14:50.40 peace and interpersonal connectedness. 00:14:50.40\00:14:55.00 Nurturing your personal relationships is more important 00:14:55.00\00:14:58.86 than keeping a sparkling clean house or other elements of perfectionism that drive a 00:14:58.86\00:15:03.36 wedge between you and others. 00:15:03.36\00:15:08.86 See, when you die, more important than how perfect you 00:15:08.86\00:15:11.76 were, will be how others felt treated by you. 00:15:11.76\00:15:17.23 You may add others but these are just a few ideas as to how you 00:15:17.23\00:15:22.63 can reduce the stress in your life. 00:15:22.63\00:15:25.96 You'll be amazed at the big difference putting just a few of 00:15:25.96\00:15:28.83 these into action will make in your lives. 00:15:28.83\00:15:32.93 Thanks for listening, Back to you pastor Bill. 00:15:32.93\00:15:35.60 Well thank you Dr. Leader. 00:15:36.56\00:15:38.83 Earlier I shared sobering statistics on stress with you 00:15:38.83\00:15:44.00 for three reasons: First, to help us see the enormity of the 00:15:44.00\00:15:48.13 problem. Second, to help us see that if we are experiencing 00:15:48.13\00:15:50.93 stress-related problems, we are not alone. 00:15:50.93\00:15:53.43 Third. and most importantly to remind us that there is hope. 00:15:53.43\00:15:58.70 Look at Luke 12: 22 - 31 . 00:15:58.70\00:16:05.63 Stress free living is part of what the Lord offers. 00:17:30.90\00:17:34.93 It's part of the gospel message. 00:17:34.93\00:17:37.73 I understand why the world is stressed out. 00:17:37.73\00:17:40.56 I understand why people are anxious. 00:17:40.56\00:17:42.56 I understand why they worry. 00:17:42.56\00:17:44.46 I understand why they have panic attacks. 00:17:44.46\00:17:46.26 It's frightening out there. 00:17:46.26\00:17:48.96 People live with anxiety. 00:17:48.96\00:17:51.23 They live with worry. 00:17:51.23\00:17:52.43 They live with stress. 00:17:52.43\00:17:54.50 But it's so common that we don't even talk about eliminating it. 00:17:54.50\00:17:56.70 The term is "to manage it." 00:17:56.70\00:17:59.80 The world will offer you cognitive behavior therapy, or a 00:17:59.80\00:18:03.86 long list of drugs. 00:18:03.86\00:18:07.36 But our compassionate God offers a far-better solution and that's 00:18:07.36\00:18:12.13 the elimination of your anxiety all together. 00:18:12.13\00:18:16.36 Stop being anxious, stop worrying, stop being afraid. 00:18:16.36\00:18:21.76 The word "worry" actually comes from an old German word, the 00:18:21.76\00:18:28.26 English word "worry", the old German word is wyrgan, it means 00:18:28.26\00:18:34.00 to choke, or strangle. 00:18:34.00\00:18:36.03 It's talking about mental strangulation through fear and 00:18:36.03\00:18:38.96 anxiety and stress and worry. 00:18:38.96\00:18:41.80 Now there are only two realms in which you can worry. 00:18:41.80\00:18:46.13 You can worry about the physical world, or you can worry about 00:18:46.13\00:18:50.13 the spiritual world. 00:18:50.13\00:18:52.10 You can worry about what is immaterial, or what is material. 00:18:52.10\00:18:55.13 You can worry about what is earthly and what is heavenly. 00:18:55.13\00:18:58.76 And so that is precisely what Jesus says you don't need to 00:18:58.76\00:19:03.56 worry about. In verse 22 He says, "Don't be anxious for your life," and by that He 00:19:03.56\00:19:06.60 means what you eat, and your body, what you wear. 00:19:06.60\00:19:09.83 Stop worrying about that, the basics of life. 00:19:09.83\00:19:13.33 And then down in verse 32, "Don't be afraid on the spiritual level for 00:19:13.33\00:19:17.46 your Father has chosen gladly to give you the Kingdom." 00:19:17.46\00:19:22.60 You're left with nothing to worry about, nothing to be anxious about, nothing 00:19:22.60\00:19:26.80 to be stressed about, nothing to panic over. 00:19:26.80\00:19:30.66 Jesus does offer anxiety-free living. 00:19:30.66\00:19:35.26 When you come into His fold, God takes care of you and worrying 00:19:35.26\00:19:39.46 about everything, is eliminated. 00:19:39.46\00:19:41.93 The Apostle Paul said this in Philippians 4: 11 00:19:41.93\00:19:46.26 I know how to get along with humble means. 00:19:54.46\00:19:56.96 I also know how to live in prosperity. 00:19:56.96\00:19:59.33 In any and every circumstance I've learned the secret of being 00:19:59.33\00:20:04.43 filled and going hungry, of having abundance and suffering." 00:20:04.43\00:20:10.23 What's the secret? 00:20:10.23\00:20:12.36 Trusting God. 00:20:12.36\00:20:15.83 Sometimes we have a lot, sometimes we have a little, but 00:20:15.83\00:20:19.26 you will always have enough. 00:20:19.26\00:20:22.33 The Psalmist wrote, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." 00:20:22.33\00:20:27.66 He makes me to lie down in green pastures. 00:20:27.66\00:20:29.90 He leads me beside still waters. 00:20:29.90\00:20:32.06 He restores my soul. 00:20:32.06\00:20:35.76 He leads me through the valley of the shadow of death and out 00:20:35.76\00:20:38.13 the other side". 00:20:38.13\00:20:41.00 So if God gave us life, and He did, if God redeemed us and He 00:20:41.00\00:20:47.10 did, if God has a purpose for our life and He does, then He will provide what we need 00:20:47.10\00:20:51.66 to survive. 00:20:51.66\00:20:54.30 Look at the book of Haggai - chapter 1 beginning at verse 5 . 00:20:54.30\00:21:01.10 That doesn't sound like provision. 00:21:32.80\00:21:35.66 It's not. 00:21:35.66\00:21:37.83 "Thus says the Lord of host, Consider your ways", take a look 00:21:37.83\00:21:42.06 at yourself and ask why is it like this? 00:21:42.06\00:21:45.66 Why do you not have enough food? 00:21:45.66\00:21:48.13 Why do you not have enough drink? 00:21:48.13\00:21:51.20 Why are you not able to have the clothes to keep yourself warm? 00:21:51.20\00:21:54.96 Why is it that when you earn wages they disappear? 00:21:54.96\00:21:59.56 Verse 8, He says, 00:21:59.56\00:22:02.13 There's the issue. 00:22:03.73\00:22:05.63 There's the issue. 00:22:26.73\00:22:28.20 Why do I do that? 00:22:28.20\00:22:30.96 Because of My house which lies desolate while each of you runs 00:22:30.96\00:22:34.20 to his own house. 00:22:34.20\00:22:36.93 You're not taking care of My house, but you all take care of 00:22:36.93\00:22:39.93 your house. Back in verse 4 He says, 00:22:39.93\00:22:41.60 God made it all go bad. 00:22:50.60\00:22:54.03 God made it all go bad. 00:23:13.86\00:23:18.83 In Psalm 34: 10 00:23:18.83\00:23:19.80 Let's go back to Luke 12: 25 00:23:26.93\00:23:31.33 The New King James Version puts it this way . 00:23:38.00\00:23:41.33 You know what a cubit is? 00:23:47.33\00:23:50.66 It's a measurement from the tip of your elbow to the tip of your 00:23:50.66\00:23:55.73 fingers. Turns out to be about 18 inches, that's how they measured things in cubits. 00:23:55.73\00:24:01.60 So is it saying which of you by being anxious can add 18 inches 00:24:01.60\00:24:06.20 to your height? 00:24:06.20\00:24:07.86 I mean, who wants to go from 5'! 00:24:07.86\00:24:10.90 0" to 7'6", there's no point in that? 00:24:10.90\00:24:14.36 And whoever thought you could do it by worrying? 00:24:14.36\00:24:17.46 God takes care of those who belong to Him and are faithful 00:24:17.46\00:24:23.30 to Him. Seek the Kingdom, His Kingdom and all that that means, 00:24:23.30\00:24:28.63 the whole of the rule of Christ and let Him take care of 00:24:28.63\00:24:34.83 everything else. And you know what? 00:24:34.83\00:24:36.83 He will not supply in a meager way. 00:24:36.83\00:24:39.30 You'll inherit the land. 00:24:39.30\00:24:42.10 We do not need to worry. 00:24:42.10\00:24:45.20 And as long as we passionately pursue the Kingdom, He promises 00:24:45.20\00:24:49.63 that He will sustain us to the very end of His plan. 00:24:49.63\00:24:55.40 That's His promise. 00:24:55.40\00:24:58.73 Let us pray. 00:25:01.40\00:25:03.43 Father in heaven, I pray that you draw near to every single 00:25:03.43\00:25:09.00 one right now that is living in anxiety and in fear. 00:25:09.00\00:25:13.73 I pray that you sustain them and you provide for their physical 00:25:13.73\00:25:19.80 as well as their spiritual, in Jesus name, Amen. 00:25:19.80\00:25:25.43 >>Dave: God is great and beyond all human comprehension. 00:25:43.43\00:25:47.03 We are told that his eyes are even on the sparrow, therefore 00:25:47.03\00:25:51.26 his eyes are on us. 00:25:51.26\00:25:53.76 Pastor Bill has prepared a book that includes all of the 00:25:53.76\00:25:56.36 messages in this series. 00:25:56.36\00:25:58.16 The book is called "Fear not, for I am with you". 00:25:58.16\00:26:00.76 We would like to send it to you as our gift. 00:26:00.76\00:26:03.76 Here is the information you need to get your copy. 00:26:03.76\00:26:05.86 >>Bill: We've come to the end of this week's It Is Written 00:27:05.66\00:27:07.76 program.
