However, most of the
damage was caused by the tsunami

that occurred a
short while later,

swallowing everything in it's
path, including ships, cars,

buses, trains, buildings,
even airplanes, but most
00:01:04.83\00:01:09.16
tragically, people.
00:01:09.16\00:01:11.16
People who got up in the
morning never realizing that
00:01:11.16\00:01:14.33
it would be
their last day alive.

The Associated Press
stated that this event resembled

the scenes of a
Hollywood disaster movie.

Imagine, if your
survived, living through all the

You never know when the
next one is coming and you don't

It's gotten to the point where
I don't know whether it's ME

Those who live through an
event like this that no doubt

experience fear and worry.

What is it that
causes you to worry?

common human experience.

Most of us worry about
something everyday-small

tomorrow or the future,
and worries about yesterday and

the fact that we can't go back

much of what we worry about

may be unproductive.

told me that we each have a

of emotional energy.

to our physical energy before

emotional energy as well.

Jesus had told the disciples

that he would follow later.

It was night time and
the disciples were crossing

the sea Galilee.

is not what's happening to us

God will really take care of us?

Mount Jesus gives us assurance

by telling us NOT to worry.

Sin is the opposite of faith.

Someone once commented
that if God is your co-pilot,

So the question we all need
to answer is, will I allow God

to pilot my life?

Will I quit worrying?

Jesus is saying here
in Matthew 6 that it's not

necessary for Christians
to spend time and emotional

energy worrying about
the future or the things

of this world.

He goes on in Matthew 6

God knows exactly
what we need and he has

promised to provide it.

The Apostle Paul
writes in Philippians 4:19.

If the Bible says
it, all we need to do

is believe it.

God will supply all our needs.

But it's important to
keep in mind that every Bible

promise has a condition.

So far, Jesus has been
describing God's great love

and care for us, but he
adds that in order for us to

receive that love and
care, it's only possible when we

meet the condition he
outlines in the next verse.

We can expect God to
provide for us and to

care for us, but only if
our lives are positioned to

allow him to do that.

If any part of us is hanging
onto the world, or following

the devil, then God is
prevented from doing for us

what Jesus describes here
in the sermon on the mount.

Only when we give God
permission to intervene in our

Remember the glass described

emotional energy.

Well how does a
glass of water get filled?

If you put the glass
upside down, you can pour water

over it all day long,
but it will stay empty.

Only when the glass is
facing the source of water

will it begin to fill.

The same is true with our lives.

If we desire God to supply our
needs and fill our lives with

his love, we must be
sure that our glass is face UP

and not face down.

Our lives must be open to
receiving the blessings of God.

And according to Jesus the
way we position our lives for

receiving God's blessing is
by seeking first the kingdom of

God and His righteousness.

If we do that, THEN all
those things shall be added.

What does Jesus mean by
"seek first his kingdom and his

righteousness."?

It's very simple.

Jesus is saying that you
and I are caught in a cosmic

conflict between good and evil
and we have to choose sides.

Who will we be loyal to?

Jesus says in order for God
to be able to bless us, we need

in the law of love.

You can choose every day
to make the kingdom of God

We have each been given
freedom of choice and no one

hold most dear in our

You can choose right now to
GIVE yourself to God and allow

You can choose to consecrate

to him who already knows the

front of their refrigerator.

That's where you find the
grocery list, the drawings

done by children or
grandchildren, the photos of

recent and past events,
the love notes, the calendar of

important appointments and
usually a newspaper clipping

or two or comment
on how to lose weight.

But where is God on
your refrigerator door?

Is God important enough in
your life that you'd put him

in front of your refrigerator?

If we do that, it will build
our faith and trust in God and

therefore we will have no
need to worry, no matter what

troubles the day my bring.

Someone once said:

Life is not about where I
am, it's about where I'm going.

The pain of this life is
nothing compared to the peace

and joy of eternity.

But we can experience
the peace and joy of heaven

There is only one single
requirement, --keep your eyes
