00:13 "Eat the bread, you will have life.
00:16 Eat My flesh, you will have life. 00:18 Drink My blood, you will have life." 00:21 The evidence is our willingness 00:23 to hear and obey the Word of God, 00:26 especially since we realize this is God speaking. 00:32 This is not an ordinary book 00:35 we are talking about this morning, 00:37 this is the word of life. 00:40 This is the Word of God. We are in His presence. 00:47 The Holy Spirit's ability to inspire. 01:00 It's not by accident that God called Abraham 01:06 and promised to him that he would become 01:09 a great nation and would be blessed 01:13 of all men on the earth. 01:19 Abraham would have turned over in his grave 01:21 if he'd have heard Jesus say to the Jewish leaders 01:24 I'm taking the kingdom from you, 01:29 and giving it to the Gentiles who were once not my people. 01:35 So God raised up Jesus, 01:36 His own Son in human flesh 01:41 and asked Him to form a movement 01:43 which became a magnificent movement called Christianity. 01:50 A woman clothed in the sun, the righteousness of Jesus. 01:55 The same message is being given every time 01:58 God has raised up a people. 02:02 Abraham, Jesus 02:07 and in these last days, 02:12 a Baptist farmer on the board 02:17 of River Mountain New York State. 02:21 Some of you may have visited the home of William Miller. 02:27 A man of prayer, a dairy farmer. 02:32 Is God a respecter of persons? No. 02:37 A dairy farmer who is in the daily habit of going out 02:43 and praying in that little line of trees 02:48 that are still there on his property. 02:52 Kneeling down and God speaks to him, 02:58 and we have the beginning of a movement 03:02 that has become a worldwide movement. 03:06 Who would have dreamed that 03:07 the Seventh-day Adventist church 03:09 would come out of that little humble beginning? 03:13 A man who didn't even want the message laid on him, 03:18 but God said preach it, 03:20 so he decided to go ahead and preach it. 03:24 Some people think this church was founded on Ellen White, 03:27 it was not. 03:29 It was not. 03:31 We're grateful for her gift, 03:33 but the church was not built on her. 03:36 I'm glad for that, aren't you? 03:40 And this third movement, I'm intrigued by the fact, 03:44 that's why I became a Seventh-day Adventist 03:48 because I realized that the sanctuary 03:52 was the one message that God kept giving 03:55 every time He raised up a people. 03:58 So I decided I better look at this message 04:01 a little bit more carefully 04:03 and God has instructed me by the way in the night season 04:08 to be very bold this morning 04:11 because there are many children of God, 04:13 professed children of God 04:15 who are playing very dangerous games 04:18 with the kingdom of God. 04:21 And because the end of all things is near, 04:25 it's important today they call sin by its right name 04:28 and to show the provision 04:30 that God has made for sin in Jesus Christ. 04:35 And God told me 04:37 I'm called for repentance today from unbelief. 04:43 Is that hitting you this morning? 04:45 That wretched, cursed, unbelief, 04:49 so it's a simple message this morning. 04:52 Open your Bibles with me to Ephesians Chapter 5. 04:56 The sanctuary message is all through Scripture. 05:01 It's especially all through 05:02 the writings of the Apostle Paul 05:06 and here is a classic example three verses only. 05:10 I love it when three verses 05:12 can bring the whole message out, don't you? 05:16 I have a sermon where I bring the whole gospel 05:18 out of just one verse, 05:21 but here we have three verses 05:22 and it's probably very appropriate today 05:25 because it's in the context of the relationship 05:29 between husbands and wives. 05:33 Isn't that beautiful. 05:34 And the whole message comes through 05:37 in just three little verses in Ephesians Chapter 5, 05:42 and I'm looking at verses 05:43 25, 26 and 27. 05:52 Three little verses. 05:54 By the way those three little verses 05:56 contain the three elements of the sanctuary. 06:01 The courtyard, the holy place 06:06 and the most holy place 06:08 and I can show you this a dozen times in the writings of Paul 06:12 where he keeps bringing the sanctuary up. 06:14 By the way in case you didn't know, 06:18 listen very carefully to this, 06:21 in case you didn't know the whole of the New Testament 06:25 is also structured like the sanctuary. 06:31 That's why the New Testament begins with... the gospels. 06:38 The gospels are the story 06:40 of the life and death of the sacrifice, 06:44 that's the courtyard in the sanctuary. 06:48 The New Testament moves into the epistles, 06:53 which are the story of a church 06:55 struggling to put on Jesus Christ 06:58 and to grow up and become mature 07:02 and holy in His presence 07:04 through the abiding of Christ in them, 07:06 that's the vast majority of the New Testament, 07:11 emphasis on the daily ministry. 07:14 Now, I wonder the beast tried so hard to get rid of the daily 07:19 because it's the daily ministry 07:21 that brings the living Christ into us. 07:30 Now you may be forcing me this morning. 07:34 Just recently I was forced to fall down on my knees 07:37 in front of a group like this for five minutes, 07:41 and I kept praying that God would open their eyes 07:44 and their mouth that we can actually hear and see 07:49 some evidence that they were living saints 07:51 and I was not actually standing in a morgue. 07:55 The daily... is the time 07:59 where we receive the indwelling of Christ. 08:04 That's the oil and the bread and the incense 08:09 all crushed and then consumed. 08:13 We are privileged to eat the flesh 08:16 and drink the blood of Jesus every day of our lives 08:21 which is the same as receiving the spirit 08:24 which according to Jesus is the equivalent of... 08:36 My first meeting was obviously not successful. 08:40 Hearing the word, thank you in acting upon it, 08:43 That was the teaching of Jesus, if you eat My flesh, 08:47 you will have eternal life, 08:48 but it's actually the sprit that gives you a life, 08:50 it's actually My words. 08:54 And that's why those elements were all consumed 08:57 because it's trying to teach us we need to consume 09:01 Jesus everyday through His word. 09:08 And finally we have Revelation which simply means 09:18 the revealing and the first verse says 09:20 the revealing of Jesus Christ. 09:24 The Book of Revelation is all about our people 09:28 finally emerging who revealed Jesus Christ. 09:33 Why do you think the first symbolic picture in Revelation 09:37 is seven golden candlesticks which John says 09:41 are the seven churches, seven. 09:47 The symbolic, not perfection, not at all. 09:50 Seven, the symbolic figure of completion. 09:55 Thank you, Carol, of completion. 09:59 We finally have a picture of God's completed people. 10:06 Jesus is standing in the middle of them 10:10 and the oil is flowing through 10:12 and their filthy garments are being soaked in it 10:16 and they are bringing forth light 10:18 and its all shining on Jesus. 10:21 They are bringing forth a revelation of Jesus 10:26 over sanctuaries in the New Testament, 10:30 the three sections of the New Testament. 10:33 This message is all the way through scripture. 10:35 I can show you 10:36 in 50 different places this same message. 10:39 But let's quickly I got to remember the time here. 10:42 Let's quickly move into 10:45 Ephesians 5:25, 10:52 "Husbands, love your wives, 10:56 just as Christ also loved the church 10:59 and gave himself" 11:07 Jesus gave, let that word sink in, "gave himself." 11:17 He wasn't put to death, He laid down His life. 11:23 Gave Himself for the church, for her. 11:29 Jesus gave Himself a clear reference to what He meant. 11:35 The cross, thank you. 11:37 It's a clear reference to the cross. 11:41 Jesus gave Himself for her and I remind you this morning 11:47 of that magnificent verse in Corinthians 11:50 that Jesus became... 11:54 ...sin for us. 11:59 What's that reference? 12:02 1 Corinthians 5, well, you have that of there, 12:05 1 Corinthians 5:21. 12:06 Thank you very much. 12:08 You rattled that off so quickly. 12:10 Praise the Lord. 1 Corinthians 5:21. 12:14 Jesus gave Himself for what? 12:19 I'm sorry, Jesus became sin for us 12:24 so that we might become 12:27 the righteousness of God in Him. 12:29 That's the whole gospel in a nutshell. 12:33 Jesus became sin so that we might become righteousness. 12:39 And another word for righteous is? 12:43 Holy, thank you. 12:46 Jesus became sin so that we might 12:50 become righteous. 12:55 That is the whole gospel message. 13:00 Then why do we still have people trying to rationalize 13:03 and justify sin? 13:06 I have people walking up to me 13:08 every day of life and saying, oh, 13:09 but I'm gonna keep on sinning till the end. 13:11 I'll say well, bless you, my son. 13:14 Bless you because if you do make a mistake 13:16 even right up till the end yes, 13:18 forgiveness will still be available. 13:20 But the good news is God want's to break 13:23 the power of sin in our lives. 13:26 Amen. Amen. 13:27 He's already broken it in the person of Jesus Christ. 13:32 Romans 8, quickly flip over there 13:35 and remind yourselves Romans 8. 13:42 Powerful passage here 13:46 breaking up the atoning death of Jesus. 13:47 Roman 8, 13:53 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation" 13:57 remember that's the same word as judgment? 14:01 "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," 14:05 and I'm jumping down to verse 3. 14:08 "For what the Law could not do, 14:11 weak as it was through the flesh, 14:12 God did, sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh 14:18 and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in" 14:24 Flesh. In whose flesh? 14:26 Jesus. 14:29 Be very careful now, 14:30 I notice you risk coming to the front seat this morning. 14:33 You moved from halfway back there I was watching you. 14:35 You came right up to the front seat. 14:37 In whose flesh was sin condemned? 14:41 If you saying our you should repent immediately. 14:45 If you were right the first time, 14:47 thank you very much. 14:48 Of course, its talking about Jesus here 14:51 who came in the likeness of sinful flesh 14:55 and died in the likeness of sinful flesh. 14:58 That's because our condemnation 15:01 was falling on Him at that time. 15:04 And if you are in Christ you are not condemned. 15:09 Well, that mean you are perfect? 15:11 I never use the word perfect, 15:13 it's a term that belongs to God. 15:16 If you're justified in God's sight 15:22 you are perfect. 15:25 The word justified means declared righteous. 15:31 God has taken your filthiness and placed it on Jesus 15:38 and He's taken Jesus' holiness and credited to you. 15:45 It's the most uneven transaction in history. 15:49 It's called justification. 15:52 And God says if you can bring yourself to believe 15:56 that I have been that generous 15:58 I will look at you every day 16:01 and when I look at you I will see Jesus. 16:06 Because when I looked at Jesus I saw you. 16:12 Why do you think Jesus cried out on the cross, 16:15 My God, My God, why has thou? Forsaken. 16:20 Had He done something to offend His Father? 16:23 No, He was without sin 16:27 and yet He became sin for us. 16:32 That was our guilt, it was our condemnation 16:37 that was crushing Jesus and caused Him to cry out, 16:40 I finally open my eyes 16:42 and realized that was me hanging there 16:45 in the person of Jesus Christ. 16:48 He changed His name to Bill at that moment 16:51 and it was Bill who needed the forgiveness 16:56 and the love that God was about to extend 16:58 through the death of Jesus. 17:01 How is your faith this morning? 17:03 I know so few people that are appreciating 17:05 the atoning death of Jesus. 17:07 They should be reading Romans 6:11 every morning 17:10 of their lives and claiming that promise. 17:13 "Consider yourself" says Paul, "to be dead to sin, 17:18 and alive unto God." 17:20 Wow. 17:21 Is that because you are feeling a little more holy? 17:24 No, it's because Jesus Christ 17:27 has died your death to sin. 17:32 He has lifted your condemnation from you. 17:40 Wow. 17:43 By the way, please don't misunderstand the statement. 17:47 I have had the experience over the years 17:50 that people hear what they want to hear. 17:53 But please hear the statement very carefully. 17:56 If you are coming to the cross every day you can spend 18:00 the rest of your life free from condemnation 18:05 even though you are still growing up into Jesus. 18:10 For the rest of your life as you learned 18:12 to put on Jesus every day sometimes we slip back, 18:16 we go forward, we learn from our mistakes, 18:19 we become more like Christ every day. 18:21 The whole time, this is the statement, 18:23 the whole time we are growing up 18:26 into maturity in Jesus Christ. 18:29 The whole time which is a life time-- 18:34 sanctification is the work of a lifetime. 18:38 The whole time we are growing up into Jesus, 18:42 we are not... 18:48 ...condemned. 18:57 Maybe He is on vacation today. 19:01 The whole time 19:05 we are growing up into Jesus 19:09 we are not condemned. 19:14 And people come to me, what if I make a mistake, 19:16 what if I fall back? 19:17 I say we will do what a child of God should do 19:20 if they make a mistake. 19:23 Repent, come back to your Father, 19:26 feel His arms around you but you won't hear Him 19:28 saying I'm kicking you out, 19:30 I'm taking away from you all the benefits of the cross. 19:34 You won't hear Him say that. 19:35 You know, what you will hear Him say? 19:38 You are still my child. 19:40 All the benefits of the cross are still yours 19:43 because you did noting to earn them a first place. 19:47 They were given to us while we were yet sinners. 19:50 While we were ungodly. 19:53 While we were even at enmity with God Christ died for us. 19:58 How is your faith today? 20:00 We need to move into belief in these matters. 20:05 The one thing that will lead us to quit playing games 20:08 with sin with its terrible consequences. 20:12 Has God not demonstrated His concern about sin? 20:16 He was willing to let His own Son, 20:19 give Himself to resolve the sin problem. 20:24 Even they let Jesus allowed to fall on Him. 20:30 Can you honestly say this morning by the grace of God, 20:32 thank You Father, 20:33 I'm free this morning from guilt, 20:36 I'm free from condemnation, I'm free from judgment, 20:42 I'm even free from the second death. 20:44 I've been there and done that already in Jesus. 20:48 And this is not a freedom to sin, is it? 20:51 It's a freedom from sin. 20:54 It's the only path we can thread that will enable us 20:57 to leave sin behind us, 21:00 is to get into the daily habit of coming to the cross. 21:04 Look at verse 26. 21:08 Verse 26, back in Ephesians 5. 21:15 Now second point, 21:17 notice what joins Verse 25 together with Verse 26. 21:21 Anyone picking it up? 21:23 What's the little conjunction there? 21:27 The little conjunction that joins Verse 25, 21:31 it's your version says that, 21:33 anyone have something stronger than that? 21:37 Some versions say so that the real Greek says, 21:41 in order that. 21:43 Thank you. 21:44 Yes, in Greek its much more emphatic. 21:46 In order, that's how Paul says it. 21:50 We soften it. We soften it to that. 21:54 It's much softer isn't it? 21:56 Jesus died, gave Himself up for the church in order that, 22:04 this is the reason that He died. 22:08 Then what is it? 22:11 In order that He might sanctify her. 22:19 What's He done in here by the way? 22:21 What's the big theological word here? 22:23 Justify. God has justified her. 22:27 He has declared her to be righteous 22:35 because He has expected the perfect life of Jesus 22:38 in our place 22:40 and He has done this so that He might now sanctify us, 22:47 make us holy. 22:49 Here He declares you to be holy 22:51 but now He will make you holy whoever risks 22:58 coming to the cross just as they are. 23:01 He is taking a huge risk 23:02 because God never leaves you as He finds you. 23:06 You can come to Him just as you are 23:07 but He sends you away cleansed 23:10 and begins a work of purification within you 23:13 which will transform your life throughout your entire life. 23:17 Isn't a beautiful thing? 23:19 For the reason Jesus died was so that He might 23:22 sanctify her doing what? 23:26 Cleansing her by-- cleansing her. 23:31 This is beautiful language here. 23:34 The sanctuary language by the way, 23:36 cleansing her with the washing of water and? 23:43 Did you hear that? 23:45 Water and the word-- 23:47 there is that word popping up again. 23:49 I love that. 23:51 The Word of God, 23:52 the word of life as we digest it, 23:56 consume it the very life of Jesus is imparted to us. 24:03 The holiness of Jesus here fed it to us 24:09 the holiness of Jesus here now actually given to us. 24:14 We have the living Christ in us every single day 24:19 and which member of the God head makes that possible? 24:22 No wonder the Holy Spirit so under attack today 24:25 because He is the dynamic member of this trio. 24:28 He makes it possible with the resurrected Jesus 24:32 to come into the life of everyone 24:34 of His children every day. 24:38 Isn't that powerful? Amen. 24:40 And now look at the third step here. 24:43 Verse 27, how does this, 24:45 these two-- 24:46 how are these two verses get linked together? 24:48 What's the conjunction here? 24:51 There we have it again it's the same little term, 24:53 in order that. 24:56 This is the fantastic passage of scripture. 24:59 This happened in order that this might take place 25:04 and this takes place in order that, 25:07 this might now take place. 25:09 Notice it there in verse 27. 25:11 "In order that he might" 25:13 and this is incredible language here 25:16 "He might present to" you are hearing it. 25:22 Jesus is presenting to Himself a glorious church 25:33 without spot or wrinkle. 25:38 This is the bride of Christ. 25:43 This is the very witness of God. 25:45 This is the testimony of Jesus we are going to find. 25:50 These are the witnesses to the justice 25:53 and the mercy of the God. 25:54 When their lives are investigated 25:57 they are without spot and wrinkle. 25:59 Not because they have been trying harder every day 26:02 and begging God to make them cleaner than, 26:04 they are not doing that. 26:06 They are putting on the living Christ every day. 26:10 They are acting on the Word of God 26:12 and in the process they are becoming just like Him. 26:17 Let's bow our heads together. 26:21 Father in heaven, what a powerful 26:23 and loving and gracious God You are. 26:27 Thank You for the sanctuary message. 26:31 Thank You for the plan of redemption 26:34 that enabled your son 26:36 to voluntarily lay down His life 26:40 and take upon Himself all our guilt and condemnation 26:44 thus freeing us so that we can now put 26:47 on the living Christ every single day 26:50 and be washed with water and the word. 26:54 So we can be transformed Father, 26:56 into a glorious and holy church that You will present 27:01 to Yourself in marriage and You will use 27:04 as the means of vindicating Your own magnificent character 27:09 before the entire universe. 27:12 Thank You Father, for being such a generous God 27:14 and forgive us for any unbelief 27:18 that any one of these three steps Father, 27:20 that may have held us back from becoming 27:22 all that You wishes to become. 27:25 We claim this privilege today in Jesus precious name, amen. 27:30 Amen. 27:32 If you would like more information about this ministry 27:35 or how you can obtain a copy of this entire series 27:37 and other resources by Pastor Bill Liversidge 27:40 please contact us. 27:42 Creative Media Ministries proclaims 27:43 the full ministry of Jesus through the sanctuary. 27:46 With the growing cost of TV production 27:48 and broadcasting this dynamic ministry needs partners 27:51 committed to spreading the good news 27:53 throughout the entire world. 27:55 You are invited to prayerfully consider 27:56 making a tax deductible donation 27:58 to Creative Media Ministries. 28:00 Contact us online at 28:02 www.creativemedia ministries.org. 28:06 That's www.creativemedia ministries.org. 28:11 By mail at Creative Media Ministries, 28:13 P.O.
