Let me say kindly 00:00:01.53\00:00:02.86 but clearly what Babylon really is. 00:00:02.90\00:00:04.97 It's really the papacy joined by the Protestants 00:00:05.00\00:00:09.47 who have abandoned Sola Scriptura 00:00:09.50\00:00:12.17 or the authority of Scripture. 00:00:12.21\00:00:14.88 How does it become so popular though? 00:00:14.91\00:00:17.55 Well, it's the temptation of the centuries. 00:00:17.58\00:00:20.25 If you look down through the centuries, 00:00:20.28\00:00:22.18 you'll find that the devil has had one successful strategy 00:00:22.22\00:00:26.42 to try to woo the church away from the Savior, 00:00:26.45\00:00:29.76 and that strategy is to love the world. 00:00:29.79\00:00:33.70 You can hear the warning by the apostles on this, 00:00:33.73\00:00:37.83 and it's been Satan's most successful strategy 00:00:37.87\00:00:40.94 down through the centuries. 00:00:40.97\00:00:42.57 It worked with ancient Israel, 00:00:42.60\00:00:44.37 it worked with the early church, 00:00:44.41\00:00:46.47 and now it's working in the end of time. 00:00:46.51\00:00:49.38 You know nothing really changes, 00:00:49.41\00:00:50.75 history keeps repeating itself, doesn't it? 00:00:50.78\00:00:52.55 So what pagan Rome did to the early church 00:00:52.58\00:00:55.85 through compromise, the devil using it, 00:00:55.88\00:00:58.39 now pagan Rome does to the Protestant churches. 00:00:58.42\00:01:01.82 So how has pagan Rome done this? 00:01:01.86\00:01:03.83 Well, let's let the Bible answer, 00:01:03.86\00:01:05.49 how did pagan Rome do it? 00:01:05.53\00:01:06.90 Let's let the Bible answer. 00:01:06.93\00:01:08.26 Here's James 4:4-5, 00:01:08.30\00:01:12.67 "Adulterers and adulteresses, 00:01:12.70\00:01:15.07 do you not know that friendship with the world 00:01:15.10\00:01:17.84 is enmity with God? 00:01:17.87\00:01:20.44 Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world 00:01:20.48\00:01:23.24 makes himself an enemy to God? 00:01:23.28\00:01:26.28 Or do you think that the scripture says 00:01:26.31\00:01:28.12 in vain the spirit who dwells in us 00:01:28.15\00:01:31.05 yearns, jealousy." 00:01:31.09\00:01:32.49 In other words, God is a jealous God. 00:01:32.52\00:01:34.56 I explained that earlier. 00:01:34.59\00:01:36.26 There's a good jealousy, 00:01:36.29\00:01:37.96 a husband should be jealous for his wife appropriately. 00:01:37.99\00:01:41.56 We should be jealous for the love of our children 00:01:41.60\00:01:44.03 in a good way. 00:01:44.07\00:01:45.70 So God is jealous for His church, 00:01:45.73\00:01:48.90 He's not going to share her. 00:01:48.94\00:01:51.04 And when she shares herself, she apostatize, 00:01:51.07\00:01:55.21 then it brings great trouble to the world. 00:01:55.24\00:01:58.75 Now, the thing that 00:01:58.78\00:02:00.75 has happened down through the centuries 00:02:00.78\00:02:02.58 is that the church was attracted to the world 00:02:02.62\00:02:05.45 and wanted worldly power, 00:02:05.49\00:02:07.32 power and wealth. 00:02:07.36\00:02:09.99 But in the United States of America, 00:02:10.03\00:02:12.83 we've separated the church and the state. 00:02:12.86\00:02:16.16 So the church has freedom 00:02:16.20\00:02:17.63 not to be controlled by the state 00:02:17.67\00:02:19.77 and the state has freedom 00:02:19.80\00:02:21.50 not to be controlled by the church. 00:02:21.54\00:02:23.91 If the church does its duty, 00:02:23.94\00:02:26.07 and converts and works in the hearts of men and women, 00:02:26.11\00:02:29.44 America will continue to be a great nation. 00:02:29.48\00:02:32.31 In fact, there was a Frenchman, many, many years ago 00:02:32.35\00:02:35.38 that said this and he was right. 00:02:35.42\00:02:37.72 He said, "America is great, because America is good." 00:02:37.75\00:02:42.56 And let me add that America has been good, 00:02:42.59\00:02:45.13 because America has had a population 00:02:45.16\00:02:47.83 that trusted this book and allowed the Bible 00:02:47.86\00:02:50.80 to direct its ways, 00:02:50.83\00:02:52.17 but now with the evolutionists and the atheists, 00:02:52.20\00:02:55.30 and all of these other things, 00:02:55.34\00:02:56.67 they're overthrowing this 00:02:56.71\00:02:58.04 and even the Church of Rome now 00:02:58.07\00:03:00.58 basically has councils 00:03:00.61\00:03:03.48 and its own authority and its own opinions, 00:03:03.51\00:03:06.48 has authority greater than the Bible. 00:03:06.51\00:03:08.88 So the philosophies of the world now 00:03:08.92\00:03:12.62 superintend or supersede, 00:03:12.65\00:03:15.22 I should say, the Bible. 00:03:15.26\00:03:16.89 Protestantism is becoming the same way. 00:03:16.93\00:03:20.03 As people are abandoning, 00:03:20.06\00:03:21.43 yes, they give lip service to Scripture, 00:03:21.46\00:03:23.67 but do they really go by Scripture? 00:03:23.70\00:03:26.84 Do they let Scripture test thing? 00:03:26.87\00:03:29.07 Now, of course, 00:03:29.10\00:03:30.47 when you have this kind of amalgamation 00:03:30.51\00:03:32.27 between the church and state, 00:03:32.31\00:03:33.78 then you get the persecution of the Dark Ages. 00:03:33.81\00:03:36.08 And that's exactly what's going to happen again. 00:03:36.11\00:03:39.45 The United States of America was given to overthrow that, 00:03:39.48\00:03:42.28 but now religious freedom, 00:03:42.32\00:03:45.09 I believe is under a sincere threat, 00:03:45.12\00:03:47.56 most people don't see it, 00:03:47.59\00:03:48.92 they don't understand where it's going, 00:03:48.96\00:03:50.46 they don't see how this power 00:03:50.49\00:03:52.39 that's developing such a great power 00:03:52.43\00:03:54.46 to control the state, 00:03:54.50\00:03:55.90 they don't understand where that's going, 00:03:55.93\00:03:57.87 but it's going. 00:03:57.90\00:03:59.23 Now let's just look at Rome's attitude 00:03:59.27\00:04:00.77 towards religious liberty. 00:04:00.80\00:04:02.37 I know some people are going to say, 00:04:02.40\00:04:03.74 "What about Vatican II?" 00:04:03.77\00:04:05.11 I'm going to address that in just a moment. 00:04:05.14\00:04:07.64 Josiah Strong in Our Country, he said, 00:04:07.68\00:04:09.24 "The pacific tone of Rome in the United States 00:04:09.28\00:04:12.21 does not imply a change of heart." 00:04:12.25\00:04:14.78 She's tolerant, where she is helpless, 00:04:14.82\00:04:17.85 says Bishop O'Connor, 00:04:17.89\00:04:19.85 "Religious liberty is merely endured 00:04:19.89\00:04:22.59 until the opposite can be carried into effect 00:04:22.62\00:04:25.26 without peril to the Catholic world." 00:04:25.29\00:04:29.53 But what about Vatican II? 00:04:29.56\00:04:31.87 People have just been mesmerized 00:04:31.90\00:04:33.23 of the Vatican, do they? 00:04:33.27\00:04:34.60 Everybody thinks that Vatican II changed everything. 00:04:34.64\00:04:35.97 The Roman Catholic Church actually changed its position 00:04:36.00\00:04:39.04 on religious liberty 00:04:39.07\00:04:40.41 and that now it believes in religious liberty. 00:04:40.44\00:04:43.31 But let me tell you, it's a sly as a fox. 00:04:43.35\00:04:46.05 You got to read a little bit between the lines 00:04:46.08\00:04:48.58 and I'm going to share something with you 00:04:48.62\00:04:50.09 that it's just really amazing. 00:04:50.12\00:04:52.62 So although Vatican II's council decree, 00:04:52.65\00:04:57.86 the dignity of humanity and emphasized 00:04:57.89\00:05:01.90 that people should not be coerced 00:05:01.93\00:05:03.93 in matters of religion. 00:05:03.97\00:05:06.17 He goes on to say, "It leaves untouched, 00:05:06.20\00:05:09.64 untouched, 00:05:09.67\00:05:11.01 the traditional Catholic doctrine 00:05:11.04\00:05:13.61 on the moral duty of men and societies 00:05:13.64\00:05:18.21 to the true religion 00:05:18.25\00:05:20.45 and toward the one true church, 00:05:20.48\00:05:23.05 i.e that in an ideal society, 00:05:23.08\00:05:26.55 the Catholic Church would be recognized 00:05:26.59\00:05:28.82 as the official religion of the state." 00:05:28.86\00:05:34.06 It's just a recent quote, 00:05:34.10\00:05:36.00 some Catholic scholars now are saying this. 00:05:36.03\00:05:41.27 They began analyzing this and they said, 00:05:41.30\00:05:42.94 "Well, now wait a minute, wait a minute. 00:05:42.97\00:05:44.31 We got Vatican II, does that mean that Vatican II, 00:05:44.34\00:05:47.71 actually the Catholic Church actually changed its doctrine, 00:05:47.74\00:05:52.31 its teaching, 00:05:52.35\00:05:55.18 and they come to a very interesting conclusion, 00:05:55.22\00:05:59.09 very interesting. 00:05:59.12\00:06:00.46 These are Catholic theologians now. 00:06:00.49\00:06:02.02 Vatican II's teaching on religious freedom 00:06:03.26\00:06:06.66 changed policy, 00:06:06.70\00:06:09.06 not doctrine. 00:06:09.10\00:06:11.40 What? 00:06:11.43\00:06:13.30 Changed policy. 00:06:13.34\00:06:14.74 In other words, the way you implement something, 00:06:14.77\00:06:18.41 but it didn't change the doctrine. 00:06:18.44\00:06:21.34 There's another source that I know of that 00:06:21.38\00:06:22.84 was right on that said Rome, 00:06:22.88\00:06:24.78 talking about the papacy, never changes, 00:06:24.81\00:06:28.88 never changes. 00:06:28.92\00:06:31.15 Here's another, another Catholic scholar, 00:06:31.19\00:06:33.86 he says, "We can see how this dignity of humanity 00:06:33.89\00:06:36.36 does not change the doctrine after all, 00:06:36.39\00:06:40.83 religious coercion..." 00:06:40.86\00:06:42.30 Now listen carefully, you've to catch this. 00:06:42.33\00:06:44.33 The scholar goes on to say, Catholic scholar, 00:06:44.37\00:06:47.90 "Religious coercion by the state is now," 00:06:47.94\00:06:52.87 underline the word, 00:06:52.91\00:06:54.54 "now, morally wrong 00:06:54.58\00:06:58.51 and a violation of people's rights." 00:06:58.55\00:07:01.62 And then he goes on to add, 00:07:01.65\00:07:03.15 "Not because religious coercion 00:07:03.18\00:07:08.06 by any authority is wrong. 00:07:08.09\00:07:11.26 But because the church," 00:07:11.29\00:07:13.63 Roman Catholic Church, the popes, 00:07:13.66\00:07:15.76 "no longer authorize it." 00:07:15.80\00:07:19.57 So that is pretty slick. 00:07:19.60\00:07:22.10 They tell everybody, 00:07:22.14\00:07:23.47 "Okay, we believe in the dignity of humanity." 00:07:23.51\00:07:26.14 They didn't change the doctrine. 00:07:26.17\00:07:28.38 They just said, 00:07:28.41\00:07:30.15 "We don't authorize the state to do it anymore." 00:07:30.18\00:07:33.88 But you have to listen, it goes on. 00:07:33.92\00:07:36.55 "The church is now refusing to license the state 00:07:36.58\00:07:40.49 to act as her coercive," 00:07:40.52\00:07:43.22 or persecuting agent you might say, 00:07:43.26\00:07:46.39 "and it is from that policy change, 00:07:46.43\00:07:49.76 and not from any change an underlying doctrine 00:07:49.80\00:07:53.67 that the wrongfulness, 00:07:53.70\00:07:55.30 a religious coercion by the state follows." 00:07:55.34\00:07:58.97 Now they go on, these scholars go on to say, 00:07:59.01\00:08:01.81 talking about religious liberty from Vatican II. 00:08:01.84\00:08:04.45 "We believe..." 00:08:04.48\00:08:05.81 this is fascinating, 00:08:05.85\00:08:07.18 "We believe that this one true religion," 00:08:07.22\00:08:09.78 talking about the papacy, of course, 00:08:09.82\00:08:12.59 "continues to exist in the Catholic Church." 00:08:12.62\00:08:16.19 Now listen carefully. 00:08:16.22\00:08:18.26 So while the religious freedom 00:08:18.29\00:08:24.23 which men demand," 00:08:24.27\00:08:27.47 underline it, 00:08:27.50\00:08:28.84 "which men demand has to do with freedom 00:08:28.87\00:08:32.44 from coercion in civil society. 00:08:32.47\00:08:38.71 It leaves intact, 00:08:38.75\00:08:40.95 the traditional Catholic teaching 00:08:40.98\00:08:43.69 on the moral duty of individuals and society 00:08:43.72\00:08:47.62 toward the true religion 00:08:47.66\00:08:49.26 and the one Church of Christ." 00:08:49.29\00:08:51.09 They didn't change a thing. 00:08:51.13\00:08:54.26 All they did is say, 00:08:54.30\00:08:56.30 "Well, we're not going to authorize 00:08:56.33\00:08:58.37 the state to enforce." 00:08:58.40\00:09:00.80 Because the truth is they couldn't, 00:09:00.84\00:09:03.91 not with the Constitution of the United States, 00:09:03.94\00:09:06.74 but they are forming alliances. 00:09:06.78\00:09:09.04 And you're seeing a great move. 00:09:09.08\00:09:12.25 I've been shocked to hear and I understand that 00:09:12.28\00:09:16.72 the separation of church and state 00:09:16.75\00:09:18.29 sometimes can take on a different context. 00:09:18.32\00:09:21.72 And I don't have time to get into that. 00:09:21.76\00:09:23.53 But I'm talking about 00:09:23.56\00:09:24.89 going back into the traditional stand, 00:09:24.93\00:09:27.10 where the state is neutral in the Constitution, 00:09:27.13\00:09:31.27 where it does not empower religion, 00:09:31.30\00:09:33.77 nor does it prevent the practice of religion. 00:09:33.80\00:09:37.01 And that's a wonderful place 00:09:37.04\00:09:38.67 and it's brought so much happiness 00:09:38.71\00:09:40.04 and peace to all of us, 00:09:40.08\00:09:41.41 I mean, look, go back to the Dark Ages, 00:09:41.44\00:09:43.75 go back to the terrible persecution. 00:09:43.78\00:09:45.18 You can see all of Europe just drenched in blood 00:09:45.21\00:09:49.48 because of this. 00:09:49.52\00:09:50.85 What does Catholic Church mean? 00:09:50.89\00:09:52.22 What does Vatican II really mean? 00:09:52.25\00:09:53.59 It means the religious freedom 00:09:53.62\00:09:55.46 which men demand versus religious freedom as a right. 00:09:55.49\00:10:01.03 In other words, 00:10:01.06\00:10:02.40 when popular opinion no longer demands 00:10:02.43\00:10:05.43 religious freedom, it will be taken away. 00:10:05.47\00:10:08.34 Now that's different than the American Constitution. 00:10:08.37\00:10:10.87 The genius of the American thinking 00:10:10.91\00:10:13.27 is that liberty of conscience is guaranteed 00:10:13.31\00:10:15.88 as a minority right. 00:10:15.91\00:10:18.05 In other words, the majority can't take it away 00:10:18.08\00:10:20.48 because it's protected by the Constitution. 00:10:20.52\00:10:25.52 The Vatican II still demands that individuals and societies 00:10:25.55\00:10:29.89 give them allegiance, 00:10:29.92\00:10:33.13 and they owe the Catholic Church 00:10:33.16\00:10:35.00 a moral duty. 00:10:35.03\00:10:37.27 This means that when the Catholic Church 00:10:37.30\00:10:38.93 and her allies become popular enough, 00:10:38.97\00:10:43.30 they can and will take religious freedom 00:10:43.34\00:10:47.74 away from the minority. 00:10:47.78\00:10:50.55 In other words, the only reason the minority have it 00:10:50.58\00:10:53.11 is because the majority is willing, 00:10:53.15\00:10:55.58 but when you change the opinion of the majority, 00:10:55.62\00:10:59.79 the Roman Church is ready to change the freedoms 00:10:59.82\00:11:03.59 that the minority should have. 00:11:03.63\00:11:06.70 Well, this alliance, of course, is now forming, 00:11:06.73\00:11:09.80 and we can see it happening. 00:11:09.83\00:11:12.73 Dr. Falwell, late Dr. Falwell some years ago passed away. 00:11:12.77\00:11:16.87 He told a whole group not even to consider 00:11:16.91\00:11:19.24 trying to affect public policy 00:11:19.27\00:11:21.74 with only the narrow evangelical 00:11:21.78\00:11:24.31 Protestant coalition. 00:11:24.35\00:11:26.35 He said, "Such an effort must include the Catholics 00:11:26.38\00:11:29.15 and in counsel with a great Cardinal Law and O'Connor." 00:11:29.18\00:11:33.96 And then he says, 00:11:33.99\00:11:35.32 "Accepting their help 00:11:35.36\00:11:36.86 is the step towards unity." 00:11:36.89\00:11:42.60 We must be aware, of course, 00:11:42.63\00:11:44.50 that Pope Francis is really headed down this road 00:11:44.53\00:11:49.04 just as fast as he can go. 00:11:49.07\00:11:52.17 This is another quote from Pastor I think, Robinson, 00:11:52.21\00:11:55.84 if I'm not mistaken, 00:11:55.88\00:11:57.31 "Aware that a meeting with Pope Francis 00:11:57.35\00:11:58.75 will be troublesome among staunch Protestants." 00:11:58.78\00:12:01.72 Mr. Robinson said, 00:12:01.75\00:12:03.08 "He and other visiting evangelical Christian leaders 00:12:03.12\00:12:06.02 talked about diversity 00:12:06.05\00:12:07.72 and their belief that the Roman Catholics 00:12:07.76\00:12:10.36 and Protestants could work together 00:12:10.39\00:12:12.59 without compromising their beliefs." 00:12:12.63\00:12:14.16 So this is an alliance, not a merger. 00:12:14.20\00:12:17.17 "So if Protestant America 00:12:17.20\00:12:19.03 abroad began seeing Pope Francis 00:12:19.07\00:12:21.20 as the trusted leader and voice, 00:12:21.24\00:12:24.31 it could revolutionize." 00:12:24.34\00:12:25.81 He goes on to say, 00:12:25.84\00:12:27.18 "Relations between the two spiritual entities 00:12:27.21\00:12:30.28 that have been estranged 00:12:30.31\00:12:31.65 for nearly a half a millennium." 00:12:31.68\00:12:34.75 So Rome's principles are simply this, 00:12:34.78\00:12:37.42 Rome's principles is that worldly power... 00:12:37.45\00:12:41.62 They want worldly power 00:12:41.66\00:12:42.99 and the church controls the state, 00:12:43.02\00:12:45.26 and that miracles are proof of truth, 00:12:45.29\00:12:50.37 not scripture. 00:12:50.40\00:12:52.50 And that's how it seduces the world, 00:12:52.53\00:12:56.07 seduces the world and it's going to look like 00:12:56.10\00:12:58.17 they're going to solve so many problems 00:12:58.21\00:13:00.58 with this new alliance, 00:13:00.61\00:13:02.51 Catholics and Protestants together, 00:13:02.54\00:13:04.28 everybody getting along, 00:13:04.31\00:13:05.95 having powerful influence on the state to do its will. 00:13:05.98\00:13:10.39 But with that will come an abandonment 00:13:10.42\00:13:13.15 of religious liberty, 00:13:13.19\00:13:14.92 the freedom to worship God 00:13:14.96\00:13:16.93 according to the dictates of your conscience, 00:13:16.96\00:13:19.19 with it will come the imposition 00:13:19.23\00:13:21.73 of the mark of the beast 00:13:21.76\00:13:24.77 and the adulterous betrayal of the Lord Jesus. 00:13:24.80\00:13:29.74
