wanted to dilate her,

and I just had a gut
feeling, so I called my husband,

know, work really far.

they gave us the bad news.

she needed to be patched

for 12-15 hours a day.

captain and has lose an eye,

so they put a
black patch on the eye

forced to use the eye,

I'm sorry, and the patch,

it's put on the
eye that does work,

so they're trying to
force the eye to start working.

That was very hard

because she would get patched
from the time she left school.

So she can do homework,

homework work for it orally

went through a lot of patches.

Louis Children's Hospital

that she have a lens transplant

We were like our

mine, I will never forget,

glaucoma for the medication

Now what is glaucoma?

It's a disorder that
can take your sight away,

it's like a cataract.

But in Delia's case,
hers is medicine induced,

so you can't ever
get rid of her glaucoma

and that's the
worst part of glaucoma.

Most people, they can
have their cataracts removed.

In my
daughter's case, she can't.

So let's say her miracle
came and her sight came back,

she will never see

so we got double whammy.

news about the glaucoma and,

that was available at the time

on the medication

for the glaucoma.

some other health issues

in the transferred eye

was getting very high

she could have a stroke,
