Well, seeds are mentioned
everywhere in the Bible.

but they are all kinds of seeds.

We find it in
Genesis when God says that,

the woman would have a seed.

We find it when Jesus
talks about the word being seed.

So there's seeds
all over the Bible.

I think seeds are
powerful because a lot of times

when we see seeds or get
seeds they don't look like much,

they are actually
pretty disappointing.

tell by looking at a seed

what is gonna turn out.

times God gives us seeds.

usually get a seed or so.

those seeds and it could be,

that you have to plant

I think of all kinds--

brown seed but bananas are--

We probably see a banana seed.

Right. We just eat it.

And but bananas
are bright and yellow

and God place
seeds within each of us.

There is the seeds that
gift talents, there is hope,

there is all kinds
of things and sometimes

it doesn't look like much
and sometimes people are seeds.

God places them in our lives

and we don't see
the potential in them

but in every seed it is
bursting with potential.

The DNA is there,
the promises are there,

the power is there
and you give a little time

is gonna blow your mind.

Well, so, you've done some study

into this whole seed thing.

with us about each of--

Well, I think, you
know, the Bible talks

about the word being
seed and a lot of times

as we hear various
messages and what not

those are seeds too.

When we read
promises those are seeds

that God is giving us.

And the Bible says that
there are different soils

in Mark Chapter 4,
there is the good soil

there is the
stony soil and what not.

So when that seed
goes out the Bible says

that the birds come and when
Jesus talks about the parable

He says,
actually the enemy comes

and tries to steal the seed.

Sometimes the enemy
knows how important seeds are

more than we do.

And so as soon asthat
seed goes out the Bible says

that the enemy
tries to snatch it away

and in this
side we are in charge

and we are sitting and we are
like oh, that's a good message

but we have no idea

that that seed could change
our lives but the enemy does.

And so immediately he comes
and tries to snatch it from us.

And so it could be snatched
by unbelief or distractions

or not really believing
it but if you allow that seed

to get in your life
and you hold on to it,

you know, sometimes, I
can think of several times

where God gave me a seed.

I remember when I
was at Oakwood College

and I was in a choir
and we were going on tour
00:05:02.26\00:05:06.60
and we will be
leaving the country
00:05:06.63\00:05:07.97
and we had to come
up with a lot of money.
00:05:08.00\00:05:09.34
What choir was that?
That was Dynamic Praise.
00:05:09.37\00:05:11.61
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Dynamic Praise they were good.
00:05:11.64\00:05:13.88
And so we were going,
we are going out on tour
00:05:13.91\00:05:16.61
and we had to
come up with this money
00:05:16.64\00:05:18.45
and I was praying and fasting
00:05:18.48\00:05:19.81
because I knew I
didn't have the money.
00:05:19.85\00:05:21.18
And I'm praying and fasting.
00:05:21.22\00:05:22.55
I'm like, Lord,
please, I really want to go.
00:05:22.58\00:05:25.25
And so after my fast is
over I checked my mailbox
00:05:25.29\00:05:28.96
and there was $30 in the mail.
00:05:28.99\00:05:31.39
And I said, well,
praise the Lord God,
00:05:31.43\00:05:35.33
$30 is a nice
little thing but I said,
00:05:35.36\00:05:39.83
but Jesus You're gonna
have to give me $30 every day
00:05:39.87\00:05:42.97
until the trip to make up.
00:05:43.00\00:05:46.94
And the next day
I went to my mailbox
00:05:46.98\00:05:50.55
and there was $30 there.
00:05:50.61\00:05:53.31
Wow. Another $30? Another $30.
00:05:53.38\00:05:57.25
So now I hadn't had
money in little while
00:05:57.29\00:06:00.29
so I took $15 of that
$30 and I went to Wal-Mart
00:06:00.32\00:06:04.36
and brought, you
know, Tide and things
00:06:04.39\00:06:06.76
to wash my clothes and I said,
00:06:06.83\00:06:08.33
okay, Jesus,
tomorrow I may need 45.

The $30 plus the 15.
00:06:12.20\00:06:15.27
I promise you when I went
to my mailbox there was $45 in.

And so from the beginning
when God sent that seed
00:06:21.64\00:06:25.98
God often sends little
seeds and then you think,
00:06:26.01\00:06:28.82
oh, this is too little we
can't do anything with it.
00:06:28.85\00:06:31.99
And, you know, but
sometimes when you see
00:06:32.02\00:06:34.59
even something small you
could say, okay, God, thank You.

You heard me, You sent it
00:06:37.46\00:06:39.09
because the
people sent the money
00:06:39.13\00:06:41.60
before I even prayed.
00:06:41.63\00:06:43.13
He knew I was gonna
pray "Before you call,

I will answer, and while
you yet speaking, I will hear."

And so God did
that and He continued
00:06:49.47\00:06:51.91
every single day
until I got my money,
00:06:51.94\00:06:55.01
$30 day after day after day.
00:06:55.04\00:06:57.21
Are you serious? I'm
serious as a heart attack.
00:06:57.25\00:06:59.85
You did ask Him
for $30 every day
00:06:59.88\00:07:03.05
and He did that
for you everyday?

Yeah, when I got the seed
of $30 and I was hoping for,

I would have taken a
million dollars from the gig go
00:07:08.19\00:07:11.43
but He gave something
little and in Zechariah
00:07:11.46\00:07:14.03
it talks about do not
despise small beginnings.
00:07:14.10\00:07:17.50
And so God gave
me that little seed
00:07:17.57\00:07:19.40
and instead of being
upset about it I said, fine,
00:07:19.43\00:07:22.20
keep this up I'll take it
every day until You get me
00:07:22.24\00:07:25.64
to where I need to
go and I praise God
00:07:25.67\00:07:27.38
and I have never,
ever forgotten that.
00:07:27.41\00:07:29.98
And so there are other
times when I've gotten a chance
00:07:30.05\00:07:32.01
to interact with seeds.
00:07:32.05\00:07:33.42
So when I see
seeds they excite me.

When I see people
who don't look like much
00:07:35.85\00:07:38.55
and maybe people want to throw
them away or I see young people
00:07:38.59\00:07:42.89
who are not getting good
grades or making bad decisions
00:07:42.92\00:07:45.26
but I see the potential.

I know there is a seed in
there and I know everything.

The wonderful
thing about a seed,

everything the seed needs
to become that mighty tree,

everything the seed
needs to become fruitful,

to become strong
and juicy or whatever

everything is already in
that little dry looking nut.

It doesn't look like
much, everything it needs

is already there
written in there.

When I look at
people there are people

who are watching now,
who people have told them

oh, you are nobody,
you never gonna make it.

They are seeds and God has
deposited something in them.

And everything they
need God has already written

in and on them and He
just wants to pull it out.

That's what excites me first
in Philippians 1:6, it says,

"He who has begun
a good work in you

will perform it until
the day of Jesus Christ."

He began it
when He did the seed.

He says I'm gonna
perform that work,

I'm gonna pull it out of
you if you just stick with Me

and go with Me.

That is amazing
that you are saying

that in every
seed there is the--

God has placed that everything
that the seed needs to grow.

Yes. And do all
seeds grow the same?

Do they grow at the same
rate? No. That they do not do.

You know, I--

in California lots of
people have fruit trees

and I really want fruit
trees but I'm intimidated

by the time it
takes fruit to grow.

You can plant a seed
and you will get fruit

for like seven
years or something

and I'm like
that's doing too much.

And so there's many times where

and I've been pressing
about this for 11 years

I could have planted a
seed and have fruit by that.

They have grown
and harvested that.

Absolutely.

And so a lot of times

and, you know, in
the Bible it says,

"By their fruit
they will know them."

A lot of times we plant seeds.

You know, little beans
they sprout up in two weeks.

And so we want those
quick, fast and hurry seeds

with sometimes got things
that take longer are better.

I love fruit more
than beans all day long

and I think
that that's something
00:09:54.19\00:09:55.89
that we need to remember
that some things take time,

fruit takes time.

In California we
have this Sequoias,

we have the redwoods.
00:10:02.06\00:10:03.43
These are
thousands of years growing,

they have trees are
like 2, 000 years old

and they are huge and
it didn't happen overnight,
00:10:09.60\00:10:13.54
it did not happen overnight.
00:10:13.58\00:10:14.98
And so it absolutely
takes, it absolutely takes

a lot more time
for certain things.

Well, most of the
time it's worth the wait.

So, how is that
then we knowing them,

we got this gift,
you shared with us

that God gives us each a seed.

Is there anything that we
can do to help the seed grow?

Is there
anything that we could do

to stop the seed from growing?

Is there any part
that we have to play then?

Absolutely, I

When Jesus talks about
the Parable of the Sower,

one immediately
the enemy is gonna come

and try to take that word.

And so there could
be somebody who decides

to accept Jesus as
their Lord and Savior.

And the bible says that
"If anyone is in Christ,

are new creation, old
things are passed away

and behold, all things are new."

That is a wonderful promise
that is the seed of the word

and the enemy is gonna
come minutes later and say,

don't believe that.
00:11:16.17\00:11:17.74
That was written
for church people,

it wasn't written
for somebody like you.
00:11:19.34\00:11:21.31
Don't believe that word
because you are pretty bad

and it's not count for you.
00:11:24.31\00:11:25.85
You are gonna stay
broke down and messed up.

And so that's the enemy coming
in to try to take that word.

And so when that
happens you have to resist,

the Bible says,
"Resist the devil,

he will flee from you."

Lot of times we
run from the devil

because we don't
know the power we have.

And so resist the devil, say no.

The Word of God says
that I'm a new creature

that all things are passed away.

So when the old
things come back to your mind

like well, you used to do
this and you used to do that

you have to resist that

and begin to believe
the truth of God's word

As a lot of times
people get the truth

We look at the facts, we
go to the doctor and they say,

or whatever these are the facts

but the truth the Bible says,

by Christ stripes we are healed.

And so we have to decide
what we are gonna believe.

Are we gonna
believe that God is a healer

and that He came the prayer
of faith will save the sick

or we are gonna
believe the doctor said,

you are gonna die
nothing can help you.

They have studies on prayer,
they say they don't help,

they don't do anything.

So and its
research so it's "truth"

I mean, it's "facts."

And so you have to decide
what you are gonna believe.

And so as seeds
come in your life

you can resist the
lies of the enemy and then--

so you get there when you
say, you know what, devil,

I'm not listening to you.

The Bible says
that I am a new creature

that Christ has made me
new and so then you go, right.

The next part
the Bible talks about

is then there is all
kinds of tribulation that comes.

And the Bible literally
says because of the word,

because of the seed,
Jesus says that the word

and seed are the same.

So tribulation
arises because of the word.

Okay, let me understand that.

that the Bible says

seed are exactly the same,

So when Jesus tells the
story and He explains it

they wanted to know about it

"The sower sows the word."

So He told the story already,
He said the sower sows seed.

And then with His
disciples in their life

what's going on
tell us about that again,

we didn't understand it.

Then He says, "The
sower sows the word."

So that seed that the sower
was sowing is actually word.

And so this word is going out.

So as the sower--

and what I love about that
is often times as preachers,

as missionaries, as teachers
when the word goes forward

sometimes it doesn't produce
the harvest that we were hoping

and we thought well, maybe
I didn't do something, right.

Maybe I didn't do
it right or something

but it's still the same
no matter where the seed fell

the word was
good, the seed was good.

It wasn't about the seed
it was about where it fell

and what the soils allowed
to take place when it fell.

And so the very next verse
it talks about when Satan comes

immediately he
tries to take the word

that was sown in their heart.

And then verse 17 it
says, so the Satan comes

and then the next one
it falls on stony ground.

When they hear the word
the receive it with gladness

but then they have
no root in themselves

because
tribulation or persecution

arises for the word sake.

Right. Because of the word.

So that word is so good but
now tribulation is gonna come.

So trials are gonna come.

You say, I'm gonna follow Christ

friends are persecution you

or now you have
problems on your job

because you are trying
to follow what God has said.

And so now that persecution
is arising because of the word.

And you are gonna
think, I should give this up.

It's not worth it.

I came, I'm
trying to do things right

and everything is
turning out wrong.

And that is another way

that you can
let go of that thing

but if you hold on to the seed,
I mean, if you get through it

and you keep
reading you will see

wonderful
things will take place.
