In the very fist verse of the Bible, Genesis 1:1, 00:00:01.36\00:00:04.40 there is an interesting story about God, 00:00:04.43\00:00:08.50 something he reveals to us about himself. 00:00:08.54\00:00:11.44 It says, "In the beginning God, Elohim, 00:00:11.47\00:00:15.31 created the heavens and the earth." 00:00:15.34\00:00:18.01 Stay tune to find out 00:00:18.05\00:00:19.91 what the meaning of the word Elohim is. 00:00:19.95\00:00:22.78 Hello, I'm Shelley Quinn. 00:00:52.68\00:00:54.02 Once again we welcome you to Issues and Answers, 00:00:54.05\00:00:57.45 and once again we're so excited 00:00:57.49\00:00:59.42 to have Ernie Pyle as our special guest 00:00:59.45\00:01:01.49 because he is going to tell us something special 00:01:01.52\00:01:06.09 about one of the names of God. 00:01:06.13\00:01:09.33 Ernie, thank you for coming back, 00:01:09.36\00:01:11.50 you are a speaker for Knowing God Ministries. 00:01:11.53\00:01:16.04 That's correct, along with Dr. Rob Sheppard. 00:01:16.07\00:01:18.61 Dr. Rob Sheppard. 00:01:18.64\00:01:19.97 And we've a heard a little, 00:01:20.01\00:01:21.34 you've told this how you began and how you all go out 00:01:21.38\00:01:25.21 without asking for any remuneration, 00:01:25.25\00:01:28.45 that you go to camp meetings, you do seminars in churches. 00:01:28.48\00:01:32.15 And Lord has had you very busy in the last six years. 00:01:32.19\00:01:36.39 And the entire focus of Knowing God Ministries 00:01:36.42\00:01:40.76 is on the names of God. 00:01:40.80\00:01:44.27 Why the names of God? 00:01:44.30\00:01:46.20 We've we have chosen the names of God as a special interest 00:01:46.23\00:01:50.31 because every name the God introduces himself by, 00:01:50.34\00:01:54.64 and there's over 300 to 400 names, 00:01:54.68\00:01:57.55 is every name is a description of who he is. 00:01:57.58\00:02:02.85 And it's a promise of what he will do in our lives. 00:02:02.88\00:02:08.02 And as we go through the story of the Bible 00:02:08.06\00:02:10.43 and we recognize the different names 00:02:10.46\00:02:12.39 and the situations 00:02:12.43\00:02:14.06 we see how God arises to the situation, 00:02:14.10\00:02:17.73 how he, and tells people 00:02:17.77\00:02:20.10 that he has the solution to their problem, 00:02:20.14\00:02:22.77 and promises to do in his life. 00:02:22.80\00:02:25.24 The next one is a perfect one because in the Book of Judges, 00:02:25.27\00:02:30.11 one of the most bloodiest books in the Bible, 00:02:30.15\00:02:33.31 so bloody that the take a woman, 00:02:33.35\00:02:35.68 hack her up into 12 parts and send all parts to this, 00:02:35.72\00:02:38.95 every tribe of Israel. 00:02:38.99\00:02:40.99 God says, "Hello, 00:02:41.02\00:02:44.36 my name is peace, shalom." 00:02:44.39\00:02:49.23 The God of pace in that book of judges. 00:02:49.26\00:02:53.37 Yes. It's amazing story, Shelley. 00:02:53.40\00:02:55.70 And that's why the stories come alive 00:02:55.74\00:02:58.57 as we learned names of God and what they mean, 00:02:58.61\00:03:01.74 we see how he interacts with his people. 00:03:01.78\00:03:04.15 And as we already said, to know God is eternal life, 00:03:04.18\00:03:09.05 that's what Jesus said in John 17:3. 00:03:09.08\00:03:10.75 Absolutely. 00:03:10.79\00:03:12.12 So, what is the name that God uses the most 00:03:12.15\00:03:16.32 when he's introducing himself to others? 00:03:16.36\00:03:19.86 The name that he uses is Elohim. 00:03:19.89\00:03:24.23 In the very first words of the Bible he says, 00:03:24.27\00:03:27.90 "In the beginning, God." 00:03:27.94\00:03:30.54 So, every time, Shelley, you see capital G, 00:03:30.57\00:03:35.11 little o, little d. 00:03:35.14\00:03:38.81 That is Elohim. 00:03:38.85\00:03:41.68 When the people translated the Bible, 00:03:41.72\00:03:44.05 they didn't know how to do these names, 00:03:44.09\00:03:46.42 and so they gave a spelling, for every name, 00:03:46.45\00:03:49.26 each name a different spelling. 00:03:49.29\00:03:51.16 So anytime you see G-o-d, that's Elohim. 00:03:51.19\00:03:56.73 Elohim is used 2250 times in the Bible, 00:03:56.77\00:04:02.17 the name that God uses the most. 00:04:02.20\00:04:05.44 So as I was to begin to study the names, 00:04:05.47\00:04:07.48 I thought, well, there has to be a reason 00:04:07.51\00:04:09.64 that he uses his name the most. 00:04:09.68\00:04:12.35 Elohim simple means I made you, 00:04:12.38\00:04:18.25 I've created you, 00:04:18.29\00:04:20.79 I hold you in the palm of my hand, 00:04:20.82\00:04:24.33 and my promise to you 00:04:24.36\00:04:26.86 is that I'll never, never let you go. 00:04:26.90\00:04:33.03 So, Elohim is the covenant maker, 00:04:33.07\00:04:36.74 and his covenant is I'll never let you go. 00:04:36.77\00:04:41.44 Now, as you know, Shelley, 00:04:41.48\00:04:42.81 there is a lot of discussion about covenants. 00:04:42.84\00:04:46.68 You know, did old covenant come before the new covenant 00:04:46.72\00:04:50.59 or that the new covenant become before the old covenant? 00:04:50.62\00:04:54.09 Well, I'm is a simple old Texas boy. 00:04:54.12\00:04:57.23 And so I like things where I can understand it. 00:04:57.26\00:05:01.40 And as I've gone through the Bible I've decided, 00:05:01.43\00:05:04.53 here is God's covenant with his people. 00:05:04.57\00:05:08.27 Remember, Jesus said 00:05:08.30\00:05:10.04 that we should be able to teach salvation simply 00:05:10.07\00:05:14.98 that a child can understand it. 00:05:15.01\00:05:17.45 So here's what I think the covenant is, 00:05:17.48\00:05:20.18 he says in Exodus, 00:05:20.22\00:05:22.58 "I want to be your God and you be my people." 00:05:22.62\00:05:27.39 He says in Leviticus, "I wanna be your God, 00:05:27.42\00:05:30.99 you be my people." 00:05:31.03\00:05:32.93 We can go through all the way over to Jeremiah, 00:05:32.96\00:05:35.80 "I want to be your God and you be my people." 00:05:35.83\00:05:39.57 We can to Ezekiel, 00:05:39.60\00:05:41.30 "I want to be your God and you be my people." 00:05:41.34\00:05:45.07 We can go through the New Testament, the Revelation, 00:05:45.11\00:05:48.01 the 21st chapter 00:05:48.04\00:05:50.45 where God is describing heaven and guess what he says, 00:05:50.48\00:05:55.62 "I'll be your God and you'll be my people." 00:05:55.65\00:06:00.66 So, Elohim, such a beautiful name, 00:06:00.69\00:06:04.06 used the most because God is expressing 00:06:04.09\00:06:08.03 all he wants in our life 00:06:08.06\00:06:10.37 is that we look up to him as our God. 00:06:10.40\00:06:14.57 And obviously, he looks to us as his people. 00:06:14.60\00:06:18.11 Amen. We call that a relationship. 00:06:18.14\00:06:22.31 And that's the message and the name of Elohim, 00:06:22.34\00:06:25.88 I will not forget you. 00:06:25.91\00:06:30.99 And the interesting thing to me is that in the Hebrew, 00:06:31.02\00:06:34.56 Elohim is what I call a uniplural. 00:06:34.59\00:06:39.09 Yes. 00:06:39.13\00:06:40.46 You know, and I love when he says, 00:06:40.50\00:06:43.03 the Lord, your God, Elohim is one God, Echad. 00:06:43.06\00:06:47.90 So it's more then one personality wrapped up, 00:06:47.94\00:06:53.51 and it says it right here. 00:06:53.54\00:06:55.21 So we see a picture of what we had called the trinity. 00:06:55.24\00:06:59.61 Right, right, from the very beginning. 00:06:59.65\00:07:01.52 Right here from the very, very beginning how God create it 00:07:01.55\00:07:04.29 because we know throughout New Testament, 00:07:04.32\00:07:06.76 the Bible says that Jesus, 00:07:06.79\00:07:08.86 all things were created through him. 00:07:08.89\00:07:10.73 Right. 00:07:10.76\00:07:12.09 We know that the spirit hovered, 00:07:12.13\00:07:14.10 so we see the father, the son, 00:07:14.13\00:07:16.33 and the spirit right here at creation. 00:07:16.36\00:07:18.27 Right. 00:07:18.30\00:07:19.63 And this is the covenant maker, the covenant keeper. 00:07:19.67\00:07:23.61 Right. 00:07:23.64\00:07:24.97 The God who keeps' covenant with those 00:07:25.01\00:07:26.57 who keep covenant with him. 00:07:26.61\00:07:27.94 Right. 00:07:27.98\00:07:29.31 From the very beginning God says, I care for you, 00:07:29.34\00:07:32.81 I'll not let you go. 00:07:32.85\00:07:35.78 When I was about 12 years old 00:07:35.82\00:07:39.79 my daddy didn't allow my brother 00:07:39.82\00:07:42.16 and I to go to movies at all. 00:07:42.19\00:07:44.99 And one a day he came to me and he says, 00:07:45.03\00:07:47.40 "I want to you take to your brother to movie," suddenly. 00:07:47.43\00:07:52.13 I mean, all right, yeah. 00:07:52.17\00:07:53.50 Wow, okay. 00:07:53.54\00:07:55.50 I mean, I was shock, you mean, 00:07:55.54\00:07:56.87 I'll get popcorn and a drink or something. 00:07:56.91\00:07:59.21 And it was a movie called the Ten Commandments. 00:07:59.24\00:08:01.84 Yes. Cecil B, the male's classic. 00:08:01.88\00:08:04.98 And so we went to the movie and of course, 00:08:05.01\00:08:07.32 we were just kind of awed by it. 00:08:07.35\00:08:10.09 But it was interesting that one of the things in the movie, 00:08:10.12\00:08:13.32 the Ten Commandants that just stuck in my mind, 00:08:13.36\00:08:15.89 I don't know why, 00:08:15.92\00:08:18.16 was just before Israelites to leave Egypt 00:08:18.19\00:08:22.13 to go in to the promise land, 00:08:22.16\00:08:25.37 it shows that they are carrying the bones of Joseph 00:08:25.40\00:08:31.54 as they go in to the promise land. 00:08:31.57\00:08:34.94 And for some reason that just stuck in my mind. 00:08:34.98\00:08:38.28 Now lets move forward many years 00:08:38.31\00:08:40.05 when I started learning the names of God and studying, 00:08:40.08\00:08:43.52 and I'm looking through them, 00:08:43.55\00:08:45.05 I came up on Genesis, the 50th chapter. 00:08:45.09\00:08:49.06 And here's Joseph, he knew he was dying, 00:08:49.09\00:08:53.33 he calls his family together and he tells them, 00:08:53.36\00:08:58.43 "I believe in Elohim, 00:08:58.47\00:09:02.04 the covenant maker 00:09:02.07\00:09:04.64 and one day he's gonna fulfill his promise to father Abraham, 00:09:04.67\00:09:11.55 and he's gonna go and take you to the promise land. 00:09:11.58\00:09:16.65 When he does that I want you to carry my bones 00:09:16.69\00:09:22.72 and buried me in promise land." 00:09:22.76\00:09:25.66 So, here we see Joseph starting out a life, 00:09:25.69\00:09:29.26 he's kind of a smart like a teenager. 00:09:29.30\00:09:32.00 "Ha, ha, ha, look what I got, you don't." 00:09:32.03\00:09:35.20 Goes to Egypt, looks like he's got it made, 00:09:35.24\00:09:38.54 falls in prison, fall asleep, all through their life. 00:09:38.57\00:09:42.38 But yet, when his life was ending, 00:09:42.41\00:09:45.35 it was Elohim, the covenant maker 00:09:45.38\00:09:49.08 that was a blessing in his life 00:09:49.12\00:09:50.72 and he had so much faith in the covenant maker, 00:09:50.75\00:09:54.06 he says, I know that the promise land will be here 00:09:54.09\00:09:58.03 and I want to be buried in that. 00:09:58.06\00:10:00.56 And all of a sudden the Elohim and the movie kind of clicked 00:10:00.60\00:10:04.47 because for some reason 00:10:04.50\00:10:06.60 that just stuck in my mind as a teenager. 00:10:06.63\00:10:10.47 You know, this is something that, 00:10:10.51\00:10:12.87 when we think of, even the Ten Commandments, 00:10:12.91\00:10:16.81 most people think of God, from the movie, you know, 00:10:16.85\00:10:21.28 speaking in this voice that is just you know, 00:10:21.32\00:10:24.79 "Those shall not..." 00:10:24.82\00:10:26.96 Not recognizing, 00:10:26.99\00:10:28.66 as I learned from Dr. Rob Shepard 00:10:28.69\00:10:31.56 who works with you that the Ten Commandants 00:10:31.59\00:10:36.73 are read in the future tense, 00:10:36.77\00:10:38.27 which indicates there are promise. 00:10:38.30\00:10:40.44 What God is saying when he wrote the Ten Commandants 00:10:40.47\00:10:43.61 as this covenant keeping God 00:10:43.64\00:10:45.77 is that when you're covenant relationship with me 00:10:45.81\00:10:49.58 you won't want to have any other Gods before me. 00:10:49.61\00:10:53.82 You're not going to take my name in vein, 00:10:53.85\00:10:55.78 you're not gonna bow down idols, 00:10:55.82\00:10:57.32 you're gonna be excited about the Sabbath, 00:10:57.35\00:11:00.19 you're not... 00:11:00.22\00:11:01.56 You're gonna honor your parents, 00:11:01.59\00:11:02.92 not gonna murdered, not gonna commit adultery, 00:11:02.96\00:11:04.83 not gonna liar, you not gonna bear false testimony, 00:11:04.86\00:11:07.66 you're not gonna covert 00:11:07.70\00:11:09.03 because this is what covenant relationship. 00:11:09.06\00:11:11.63 I'm gonna be the one that works in you 00:11:11.67\00:11:14.14 to will and to do my good pleasure. 00:11:14.17\00:11:18.37 So, we see, 00:11:18.41\00:11:20.54 as you a taking about all the different names of God. 00:11:20.58\00:11:24.81 Well, we're talking about some of the names of God. 00:11:24.85\00:11:27.85 We see that God was trying with each name 00:11:27.88\00:11:31.89 by which he introduced himself, 00:11:31.92\00:11:34.89 he was painting a picture of who he is and what he'll do. 00:11:34.92\00:11:40.16 Right. 00:11:40.20\00:11:41.53 And every picture is the picture of love, it's... 00:11:41.56\00:11:44.67 Yeah. 00:11:44.70\00:11:46.30 You know, Sue and I at the age now, well, she is, 00:11:46.33\00:11:50.61 were we began to kind of wonder 00:11:50.64\00:11:52.57 what our future is gonna to be like. 00:11:52.61\00:11:55.28 You know the beauty of God is he says, just as you said, 00:11:55.31\00:12:00.85 if you know me 00:12:00.88\00:12:02.75 here's what your life is going to be like. 00:12:02.78\00:12:05.72 You're going appreciate day that you can worship me, 00:12:05.75\00:12:09.19 you're going to do all these things. 00:12:09.22\00:12:10.83 And how wonderful it would be if we took the Ten Commandments 00:12:10.86\00:12:16.00 and presented them in that light of a promise 00:12:16.03\00:12:19.67 verses something you got to do to please God. 00:12:19.70\00:12:22.67 Amen. 00:12:22.70\00:12:24.04 Let me give you another example of Elohim, how he works. 00:12:24.07\00:12:29.28 We all the story of Jonah. 00:12:29.31\00:12:32.51 Now, it's pretty heard to you think 00:12:32.55\00:12:33.88 the God would speak to a man 00:12:33.92\00:12:35.68 and he was just go do opposite. 00:12:35.72\00:12:37.79 Why, I don't know if that's so hard, you know. 00:12:37.82\00:12:40.72 I think they're probably... 00:12:40.76\00:12:42.09 It happens to all of them, it's done. 00:12:42.12\00:12:43.93 He might not speak directly but he speak through his word. 00:12:43.96\00:12:47.00 But he went... and we all know the story. 00:12:47.03\00:12:49.76 So it's interesting thing 00:12:49.80\00:12:51.50 that when Jonah was swallowed up by the great fish, 00:12:51.53\00:12:55.90 he's in the belly and he began to pray. 00:12:55.94\00:13:01.04 And guess what name of God he uses? 00:13:01.08\00:13:04.05 Elohim. Elohim. 00:13:04.08\00:13:05.91 Elohim. 00:13:05.95\00:13:07.28 God, you promised me that you would not let me go. 00:13:07.32\00:13:13.56 And when you read that prayer 00:13:13.59\00:13:15.19 you see exactly that's what his thanking is. 00:13:15.22\00:13:18.49 Yes, I've missed up, yes, I've done wrong, 00:13:18.53\00:13:22.30 yes, I probably deserved what I'm getting 00:13:22.33\00:13:26.37 but you promised you would delivered me. 00:13:26.40\00:13:30.21 And, Elohim, I'm calling up on you to fulfill that promise. 00:13:30.24\00:13:34.58 And off course, we know the next thing, 00:13:34.61\00:13:36.51 the fish throws up on the dry land 00:13:36.54\00:13:38.61 and there is Jonah. 00:13:38.65\00:13:40.05 So it's interesting that in that, 00:13:40.08\00:13:45.42 what I called the pit of the fish, 00:13:45.45\00:13:48.49 he was in the same condition 00:13:48.52\00:13:49.96 as the boy was in the hog pan in the story of the good daddy, 00:13:49.99\00:13:53.86 Prodigal Son, call out to God. 00:13:53.90\00:13:57.60 Elohim says to all of us, Shelley, 00:13:57.63\00:14:00.54 don't care what you've done, where you at, call out, 00:14:00.57\00:14:06.07 my promise is I'll be there. 00:14:06.11\00:14:07.68 It's a very beautiful promise. 00:14:07.71\00:14:10.91 And I'd like to give you one more story 00:14:10.95\00:14:13.31 that I think is just fascinate in about Elohim. 00:14:13.35\00:14:16.35 Would that be okay. Absolutely, please. 00:14:16.38\00:14:19.65 If I would, well, I'm gonna ask you. 00:14:19.69\00:14:23.26 Name one or two of what you think 00:14:23.29\00:14:26.56 the most wicked people on earth have been. 00:14:26.59\00:14:28.96 Manasseh. 00:14:29.00\00:14:31.07 Well, stop there. 00:14:31.10\00:14:33.03 I'll never ask you another question, 00:14:33.07\00:14:35.47 never again, Shelley. 00:14:35.50\00:14:36.87 Most people would say Adolf Hitler, Stalin, 00:14:36.91\00:14:41.98 who killed a you know, 20 million people, 00:14:42.01\00:14:44.28 compared to Hitler, six. 00:14:44.31\00:14:46.38 But one of the words absolutely was Manasseh. 00:14:46.41\00:14:49.28 Yeah. 00:14:49.32\00:14:51.12 And Manasseh 00:14:51.15\00:14:53.69 was the king over the gods people 00:14:53.72\00:14:59.79 and yet we're told there during his reign it was bloody. 00:14:59.83\00:15:04.10 One author his suggested 00:15:04.13\00:15:05.53 that the streets ran with blood, 00:15:05.57\00:15:08.40 he was killing that much people. 00:15:08.44\00:15:11.71 And so there were so wicked, 00:15:11.74\00:15:13.78 so separated from God 00:15:13.81\00:15:16.91 that God allows Assyrian army to come in 00:15:16.95\00:15:20.42 and capture Manasseh. 00:15:20.45\00:15:22.18 Take him off with the hook in his nose. 00:15:22.22\00:15:24.35 Takes him off to Babylon 00:15:24.39\00:15:27.52 and the Babylonians want to throw a great party. 00:15:27.56\00:15:31.39 And so its important, as you said, 00:15:31.43\00:15:33.13 but its important for people to understand 00:15:33.16\00:15:35.96 here's God chosen servant, king of his people, 00:15:36.00\00:15:41.67 and he's been imparted down streets of Babylon 00:15:41.70\00:15:44.37 with the hook in his nose, 00:15:44.41\00:15:46.24 chains on his hands, chains oh his feet, 00:15:46.27\00:15:49.74 and their is literally 00:15:49.78\00:15:51.11 thousands and thousands of people. 00:15:51.15\00:15:54.02 And they're saying, if this is the man 00:15:54.05\00:15:57.39 that represents Israel, ha, ha, look how week. 00:15:57.42\00:16:01.69 And we would say, if we're not careful 00:16:01.72\00:16:05.53 that Manasseh got exactly what he deserved. 00:16:05.56\00:16:10.20 Oh, absolutely. 00:16:10.23\00:16:11.77 I mean, he introduced adultery, child scarifies, 00:16:11.80\00:16:16.60 he was so evil, it was unbelievable. 00:16:16.64\00:16:18.84 Yes. 00:16:18.87\00:16:20.21 Yea, we have a tendency to say, 00:16:20.24\00:16:21.94 he's is getting he just deserves. 00:16:21.98\00:16:23.75 In fact, I would say, well, see, this is what happens 00:16:23.78\00:16:26.18 when you don't serve God, this is what God does. 00:16:26.21\00:16:29.32 Yes. 00:16:29.35\00:16:31.12 But though he was so wicked... 00:16:31.15\00:16:33.39 Amen. 00:16:33.42\00:16:35.62 He turned to Elohim 00:16:35.66\00:16:40.13 and his life changed. 00:16:40.16\00:16:44.07 Now this is the beauty about God. 00:16:44.10\00:16:48.37 We could think that God would take Manasseh 00:16:48.40\00:16:50.71 and starting at the bottom of the ladder, 00:16:50.74\00:16:53.71 he brings him right back, Shelley, 00:16:53.74\00:16:55.84 and puts him right back on the throne, 00:16:55.88\00:16:57.98 and we restores kingdom right to him. 00:16:58.01\00:17:00.62 Isn't that amazing? 00:17:00.65\00:17:01.98 How beautiful God. 00:17:02.02\00:17:03.35 See, here again, 00:17:03.39\00:17:04.72 one of the principles of Knowing God Ministries 00:17:04.75\00:17:08.02 is the stories always about God, 00:17:08.06\00:17:10.89 its not about Manasseh, it's always about the God. 00:17:10.93\00:17:13.83 Put shim right back. 00:17:13.86\00:17:15.80 Manasseh had one of the profits sawed in half. 00:17:15.83\00:17:19.97 Isaiah. 00:17:20.00\00:17:21.34 And so... 00:17:21.37\00:17:22.70 And don't know what it's gonna be like on that day? 00:17:22.74\00:17:24.07 That's what I'm getting ready to say, Shelley. 00:17:24.11\00:17:27.21 I hope me and you were there 00:17:27.24\00:17:29.48 when the prophet turns the corner 00:17:29.51\00:17:32.88 and he runs into Manasseh. 00:17:32.91\00:17:34.75 Yes. Can't you imagine the shock? 00:17:34.78\00:17:37.95 But I think it won't, don't you know 00:17:37.99\00:17:39.62 the Isaiah is not gonna be saying, 00:17:39.65\00:17:42.79 "What are you doing here, " and upset about it. 00:17:42.82\00:17:44.66 He's gonna be going, "How did God save you?" 00:17:44.69\00:17:48.40 Absolutely, absolutely. 00:17:48.43\00:17:50.40 And you can just see him hugging. 00:17:50.43\00:17:52.27 Yeah. 00:17:52.30\00:17:53.64 And so happy that they are there. 00:17:53.67\00:17:55.60 That is the goodness of Elohim. 00:17:55.64\00:17:59.37 You know what, Ernie, I always tell people that, 00:17:59.41\00:18:02.84 you've heard this, I'm sure. 00:18:02.88\00:18:04.65 That some people just don't see grace in the Old Testament, 00:18:04.68\00:18:10.32 in the old covenant, they can't see grace. 00:18:10.35\00:18:12.89 And I tell them, if you wanna see grace in action 00:18:12.92\00:18:16.22 look at the story of Manasseh, 00:18:16.26\00:18:18.66 how God took this one that thumbed his nose at God, 00:18:18.69\00:18:25.20 this heathen, he was so wicked. 00:18:25.23\00:18:29.00 And how, when he, like the prodigal son, 00:18:29.04\00:18:32.24 when he came a his senses in the pit, 00:18:32.27\00:18:35.44 and called out on Elohim, 00:18:35.48\00:18:38.21 the covenant maker, how God restored him. 00:18:38.25\00:18:41.38 I mean, that's nothing abut grace. 00:18:41.42\00:18:43.08 You know, the interesting thing in the story of Manasseh, 00:18:43.12\00:18:45.52 as you know is that all though he turned back fully to God 00:18:45.55\00:18:49.99 and he tried to tear down the high places, 00:18:50.03\00:18:53.36 he tried to restore, 00:18:53.40\00:18:54.90 he couldn't undo the consequences for sin. 00:18:54.93\00:18:57.90 It had already influence too many. 00:18:57.93\00:18:59.83 And that's sometimes, as we forget in our lives 00:18:59.87\00:19:03.87 that even if we turned back 00:19:03.91\00:19:05.61 there's still the consequences of actions that keeps on going. 00:19:05.64\00:19:10.65 I think the story Manasseh is a story for all. 00:19:10.68\00:19:13.85 As we've gone through over 70 seminars 00:19:13.88\00:19:17.59 we've constantly have people share with us 00:19:17.62\00:19:21.52 that they felt they have gone too far, 00:19:21.56\00:19:24.43 they've committed their unparalleled sin, 00:19:24.46\00:19:28.03 that God doesn't care, church doesn't, you know. 00:19:28.06\00:19:32.13 This is Satan's biggest lie that he puts on people, 00:19:32.17\00:19:37.97 that God is a condemning God 00:19:38.01\00:19:43.24 and that God is one who, 00:19:43.28\00:19:46.15 he will point out what you do wrong. 00:19:46.18\00:19:48.78 And yet the glory of it is he says, 00:19:48.82\00:19:51.45 I've created you, I'll never leave you. 00:19:51.49\00:19:54.06 And he's proven that over and over. 00:19:54.09\00:19:56.56 You know what, here's the scripted that release 00:19:56.59\00:19:58.99 because I grew up believing that, 00:19:59.03\00:20:01.16 that not that I've committed the unpardonable sin 00:20:01.20\00:20:03.30 but I grew up believing, 00:20:03.33\00:20:05.40 I had to be perfect for God to love me. 00:20:05.43\00:20:07.70 And I finally, I remember, you know, 00:20:07.74\00:20:10.27 in high school I would a Sunday school teacher. 00:20:10.31\00:20:13.11 I mean, I was, you know, 00:20:13.14\00:20:14.84 they called me miss goody two-shoes 00:20:14.88\00:20:16.88 when I first went off to college. 00:20:16.91\00:20:18.25 It wasn't a Christian collage, 00:20:18.28\00:20:19.61 so every body would call me Polly Anna, 00:20:19.65\00:20:21.92 that was my nick name, you now. 00:20:21.95\00:20:23.28 They'd say, oh, she's a Polly Anna. 00:20:23.32\00:20:24.82 And I do recall, though, you know, 00:20:24.85\00:20:27.96 I had this love affair with Jesus 00:20:27.99\00:20:29.59 'cause I know he died for me. 00:20:29.62\00:20:30.96 But the idea that of the father 00:20:30.99\00:20:36.50 was one that he was just ready to strike me down 00:20:36.53\00:20:38.90 at any moment, until I read this scripture. 00:20:38.93\00:20:42.30 And it says, and this is Hebrews 1:3, 00:20:42.34\00:20:46.41 it's talking about 00:20:46.44\00:20:48.71 how God has spoken in the last day to ascend. 00:20:48.74\00:20:51.98 And he says, "Who, " talking about Jesus, 00:20:52.01\00:20:56.22 "being the brightness of his glory 00:20:56.25\00:21:00.29 and the express image of his person, 00:21:00.32\00:21:06.09 upholds all things by the word of power." 00:21:06.13\00:21:08.30 Now just gonna stop here. 00:21:08.33\00:21:11.43 You know, I always looked at the part, 00:21:11.47\00:21:14.44 the B part that he upholds all things 00:21:14.47\00:21:16.97 by the word of his power, 00:21:17.01\00:21:18.34 because my focus was on the power, the word. 00:21:18.37\00:21:20.78 And then one day I'm reading this and it's like, 00:21:20.81\00:21:23.28 wait a minute, this says that Jesus is the affluence of God, 00:21:23.31\00:21:28.18 that everything we see in Jesus, 00:21:28.22\00:21:31.49 this is way the father. 00:21:31.52\00:21:32.85 Absolutely. 00:21:32.89\00:21:34.22 So as loving is non-judgmental as patient, 00:21:34.26\00:21:37.69 as compassionate as Jesus was. 00:21:37.73\00:21:41.16 That's who the father he is. 00:21:41.20\00:21:43.50 And it blew my mind because all of the sudden, 00:21:43.53\00:21:46.37 I'm Jesus said, he came so that to reveal the Father. 00:21:46.40\00:21:49.87 He was here.
