Hello, I'm Shelley Quinn. 00:00:29.46\00:00:30.79 And we welcome you again to Issues and Answers. 00:00:30.83\00:00:33.83 Today, the issue we will be discussing 00:00:33.86\00:00:36.13 is conscience and mental health. 00:00:36.16\00:00:39.17 And, boy, those two things are highly related. 00:00:39.20\00:00:42.40 And our answers are going to be coming 00:00:42.44\00:00:44.37 from a lovely person, 00:00:44.41\00:00:46.37 someone who's become dear to my heart. 00:00:46.41\00:00:48.71 She is a beautiful Christian woman 00:00:48.74\00:00:50.85 who also has such a spirit of humility about her. 00:00:50.88\00:00:55.32 And she's highly educated. 00:00:55.35\00:00:57.89 She has her doctorate in counseling psychology. 00:00:57.92\00:01:01.92 I had to stop and think about that for a second. 00:01:01.96\00:01:04.23 But let me introduce Magna Parks-Porterfield. 00:01:04.26\00:01:08.00 And, Magna, we are so glad that you're here again today. 00:01:08.03\00:01:11.30 Thank you, Shelley. It's good to be here again. 00:01:11.33\00:01:13.13 And we've had a couple with you that we discussed 00:01:13.17\00:01:16.50 the ways to optimize mental health. 00:01:16.54\00:01:20.34 But today, we just ask you to stay by 00:01:20.38\00:01:22.74 so that we could get another program out of you. 00:01:22.78\00:01:25.25 And we're going to be talking about something 00:01:25.28\00:01:27.85 that you've been on your heart, 00:01:27.88\00:01:29.75 and that's conscience and mental health. 00:01:29.78\00:01:32.69 Please tell me... 00:01:32.72\00:01:34.29 First, for those who don't know you 00:01:34.32\00:01:36.79 let me just... 00:01:36.83\00:01:38.16 let you give a little two or three minute bio. 00:01:38.19\00:01:41.30 Tell us a little who you are. 00:01:41.33\00:01:43.16 Well, as you mentioned, 00:01:43.20\00:01:44.53 I have a PhD in counseling, psychology. 00:01:44.57\00:01:46.30 I've taught on the college level, 00:01:46.33\00:01:47.87 I've been in private practice 00:01:47.90\00:01:49.24 and now I have my own ministry 00:01:49.27\00:01:52.37 where we educate people 00:01:52.41\00:01:53.88 on mental health and physical health as well 00:01:53.91\00:01:55.74 because my husband is well trained 00:01:55.78\00:01:57.15 in the physical health area. 00:01:57.18\00:01:59.28 I've been in this field for a long time. 00:01:59.31\00:02:00.98 I'm not gonna say how many years, 00:02:01.02\00:02:02.35 'cause that will date me, 00:02:02.38\00:02:03.72 but I enjoy it 00:02:03.75\00:02:05.09 and the Lord has brought me to a point of seeing 00:02:05.12\00:02:06.79 the importance of His biblical methods 00:02:06.82\00:02:09.02 and principles for mental health 00:02:09.06\00:02:10.79 and so I look at research, I look at that, 00:02:10.83\00:02:13.16 I look at inspired writings, 00:02:13.19\00:02:14.53 and try to help people through educating, counseling, 00:02:14.56\00:02:17.77 however, the Lord brings my... 00:02:17.80\00:02:19.13 whatever He brings my way. 00:02:19.17\00:02:20.50 Amen. That's excellent. 00:02:20.54\00:02:22.74 So if we are just gonna launch into our topic, 00:02:22.77\00:02:26.78 conscience and mental health. 00:02:26.81\00:02:28.64 First, define what is conscience? 00:02:28.68\00:02:32.68 Well, there's a lot of different 00:02:32.71\00:02:34.05 definitions out there 00:02:34.08\00:02:35.42 but the basic way of defining it is 00:02:35.45\00:02:38.22 a knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. 00:02:38.25\00:02:40.86 Okay. 00:02:40.89\00:02:42.22 And we're all born with that knowledge 00:02:42.26\00:02:43.99 of what is right or wrong. 00:02:44.03\00:02:45.53 That's interesting. 00:02:45.56\00:02:46.90 Yes, even those 00:02:46.93\00:02:48.86 who don't acknowledge God 00:02:48.90\00:02:51.30 have that inherent sense of right and wrong. 00:02:51.33\00:02:53.80 You know, Paul talks about that, 00:02:53.84\00:02:55.17 I think it's in Romans, 00:02:55.20\00:02:56.71 where he talks about the gentiles 00:02:56.74\00:02:58.07 not having a law unto themselves 00:02:58.11\00:03:00.18 but their conscience bearing witness. 00:03:00.21\00:03:02.04 Yes. 00:03:02.08\00:03:03.41 God gives all of us 00:03:03.45\00:03:04.78 the knowledge of what's right and wrong. 00:03:04.81\00:03:06.21 And I think that 00:03:06.25\00:03:07.58 that's very true that there are so many people 00:03:07.62\00:03:09.12 who know it's wrong to murder. 00:03:09.15\00:03:11.45 I mean, in so many societies, 00:03:11.49\00:03:13.36 now there are some who have taught otherwise, 00:03:13.39\00:03:16.59 but that's interesting, and I do believe that. 00:03:16.62\00:03:19.66 But if your conscience... 00:03:19.69\00:03:24.37 Explain how the conscience functions. 00:03:24.40\00:03:27.84 Okay. 00:03:27.87\00:03:29.20 Well, one of the things it does is that it points us 00:03:29.24\00:03:32.47 to what we ought to do. 00:03:32.51\00:03:33.84 Okay. 00:03:33.88\00:03:35.21 All of us has that little voice. 00:03:35.24\00:03:36.68 As Christians, we say the Holy Spirit, 00:03:36.71\00:03:38.11 but when we are getting ready to do something, 00:03:38.15\00:03:39.88 we have that voice, 00:03:39.91\00:03:41.45 if it's properly trained, I should add, that says, 00:03:41.48\00:03:44.25 "This is not something you should do. 00:03:44.29\00:03:46.69 And this is something you should do." 00:03:46.72\00:03:48.06 So the conscience points us as to what to do. 00:03:48.09\00:03:50.86 And then the conscience also judges our actions. 00:03:50.89\00:03:54.13 So when we make that decision, 00:03:54.16\00:03:56.03 the conscience will actually say to us, 00:03:56.06\00:03:58.53 "You know, what you did was not right, 00:03:58.57\00:04:00.70 and what you did was wrong." 00:04:00.74\00:04:02.44 But then, there's a third process 00:04:02.47\00:04:04.21 or function of the conscience and that is, 00:04:04.24\00:04:06.37 it passes sentence on us 00:04:06.41\00:04:08.54 after we've made that decision 00:04:08.58\00:04:10.41 and that's where guilt may come in or shame 00:04:10.45\00:04:13.58 because the conscience leads us to say, 00:04:13.62\00:04:16.12 "You shouldn't have done that. It's not right." 00:04:16.15\00:04:18.32 And you may feel the guilt 00:04:18.35\00:04:19.69 and the shame that comes about from the decision 00:04:19.72\00:04:21.16 that you've made. 00:04:21.19\00:04:22.52 Oh, amen. 00:04:22.56\00:04:23.89 I think I have a highly active conscience 00:04:23.93\00:04:25.69 because if I say anything, 00:04:25.73\00:04:28.50 I would never 00:04:28.53\00:04:29.86 intentionally wound somebody with my words 00:04:29.90\00:04:33.77 and if you say something in a joking manner 00:04:33.80\00:04:36.24 that maybe isn't taken as a joke, 00:04:36.27\00:04:37.84 or you say something 00:04:37.87\00:04:39.21 that you learned offended somebody, 00:04:39.24\00:04:41.38 or you may realize 00:04:41.41\00:04:42.74 when you walk away that didn't react properly, 00:04:42.78\00:04:45.81 I will immediately think, 00:04:45.85\00:04:47.55 "Oh, I shouldn't have done that." 00:04:47.58\00:04:48.92 But then, I can beat myself up over that 00:04:48.95\00:04:51.52 but I'm quick to go and apologize to someone 00:04:51.55\00:04:53.82 if I think I have offended them. 00:04:53.86\00:04:55.36 You have a sensitive tender conscience. 00:04:55.39\00:04:58.09 Yeah, but why when you think about... 00:04:58.13\00:05:02.40 If the conscience is functioning to tell us 00:05:02.43\00:05:06.10 this is what we should do or shouldn't do, 00:05:06.13\00:05:08.00 this is something that perhaps you recognize that... 00:05:08.04\00:05:13.44 you walk away from a situation feeling uneasy, and thinking, 00:05:13.48\00:05:17.28 "Oh, I shouldn't have done this." 00:05:17.31\00:05:19.81 Is that what you would call violating your conscience. 00:05:19.85\00:05:23.85 Very much so, very much so. 00:05:23.89\00:05:26.42 And actually what I have found out, 00:05:26.45\00:05:29.02 and I've read and I've seen it in my own life 00:05:29.06\00:05:31.16 and other people's lives, 00:05:31.19\00:05:32.53 well, maybe not in my own life, 00:05:32.56\00:05:33.90 but people suffering with depression and anxiety, 00:05:33.93\00:05:36.90 sometimes, some of these people 00:05:36.93\00:05:38.53 are dealing with consciences 00:05:38.57\00:05:40.54 that has been violated more than is healthy. 00:05:40.57\00:05:44.97 And so I remember reading a story 00:05:45.01\00:05:46.44 about a young lady. 00:05:46.47\00:05:47.81 She was depressed, 00:05:47.84\00:05:49.18 she tried all kind of methods to deal with her depression. 00:05:49.21\00:05:52.38 Somehow, she ran across the information on conscience. 00:05:52.41\00:05:55.78 As she started to analyze her life each day 00:05:55.82\00:05:58.25 in her decisions 00:05:58.29\00:05:59.62 whether it be taking a pen from work home 00:05:59.65\00:06:01.92 that wasn't hers, 00:06:01.96\00:06:03.29 as she started to pay more attention 00:06:03.32\00:06:04.76 to what her conscience was telling her 00:06:04.79\00:06:06.39 and started to follow and listen to more 00:06:06.43\00:06:08.53 of the things that she knew was right. 00:06:08.56\00:06:10.43 Guess what happened to the depression, Shelley. 00:06:10.47\00:06:12.03 It was gone. 00:06:12.07\00:06:13.40 It was gone, 00:06:13.44\00:06:14.77 just by her starting to pay more attention 00:06:14.80\00:06:16.91 to that conscience. 00:06:16.94\00:06:19.27 Can I tell you a quick story? Sure. 00:06:19.31\00:06:22.88 This was years and years and years ago, 00:06:22.91\00:06:25.31 we were fairly newly weds, my husband and I. 00:06:25.35\00:06:29.92 And we married 00:06:29.95\00:06:31.29 we had a great debt hanging over our heads 00:06:31.32\00:06:33.09 when we married. 00:06:33.12\00:06:34.46 And I went into Walmart once. 00:06:34.49\00:06:37.89 Somebody had told me about this face cream 00:06:37.93\00:06:40.60 that was marvelous. 00:06:40.63\00:06:42.20 It was close to Christmastime. 00:06:42.23\00:06:44.27 So I went into Walmart and this face cream ended up 00:06:44.30\00:06:46.50 being like $50. 00:06:46.53\00:06:47.87 And I thought, "Oh, I can't do that. 00:06:47.90\00:06:49.27 We're too broke." 00:06:49.30\00:06:50.64 But I decided I was going to splurge 00:06:50.67\00:06:52.67 that was my Christmas present to me. 00:06:52.71\00:06:55.34 Well, I bought it. 00:06:55.38\00:06:56.71 And I went out and I got in the car. 00:06:56.75\00:06:58.71 And I was thinking, 00:06:58.75\00:07:00.38 "How did all this add up to only $85?" 00:07:00.42\00:07:05.85 And I went and I pulled out my slip, 00:07:05.89\00:07:08.02 and I looked through the receipt. 00:07:08.06\00:07:11.86 They had not charged me for this face cream. 00:07:11.89\00:07:15.80 So, you know, you could sit there and think, 00:07:15.83\00:07:20.00 "Ooh, I just landed a great gift." 00:07:20.04\00:07:23.77 But my conscience wouldn't allow me. 00:07:23.81\00:07:25.74 And I'll tell you why. 00:07:25.77\00:07:27.38 It's because I knew angels are watching me, 00:07:27.41\00:07:31.18 you know, no one else might have known 00:07:31.21\00:07:32.98 but God knew and angels are watching me, 00:07:33.01\00:07:35.05 and I wanted to be a good witness. 00:07:35.08\00:07:36.82 So I went back into the store which was so busy 00:07:36.85\00:07:40.69 because this is so close to Christmas 00:07:40.72\00:07:42.76 and I had to wait forever and I got to this lady. 00:07:42.79\00:07:45.39 Finally, I said, 00:07:45.43\00:07:46.76 "You didn't charge me for this." 00:07:46.80\00:07:49.10 She sent me to customer service. 00:07:49.13\00:07:50.83 It took forever. 00:07:50.87\00:07:52.93 And they were upset with me 00:07:52.97\00:07:54.97 for coming back into the, you know, store. 00:07:55.00\00:07:58.11 This lady said, 00:07:58.14\00:07:59.47 "You're just causing such a hassle. 00:07:59.51\00:08:00.91 Why didn't you go on?" 00:08:00.94\00:08:02.81 And I looked at her and I said, 00:08:02.84\00:08:04.18 "Well, my conscience wouldn't allow that." 00:08:04.21\00:08:06.72 And I almost went miffed back to the car, thinking, 00:08:06.75\00:08:10.12 "I can't believe I got in trouble for this." 00:08:10.15\00:08:12.52 And then the Lord really shared with me 00:08:12.55\00:08:14.66 that I had been a witness for Him. 00:08:14.69\00:08:16.96 That's right. 00:08:16.99\00:08:18.63 I mean, that's an interesting experience. 00:08:18.66\00:08:20.00 It is. 00:08:20.03\00:08:21.36 And there are people who are always often violating 00:08:21.40\00:08:24.37 that same thing that you responded to, 00:08:24.40\00:08:26.74 and that leads to problems with mental health. 00:08:26.77\00:08:29.10 It really does. 00:08:29.14\00:08:30.47 Lack of peace, lack of joy, even anxiety. 00:08:30.51\00:08:33.61 There's another story 00:08:33.64\00:08:34.98 I can add to a gentleman who got out of prison 00:08:35.01\00:08:37.61 and he would not leave the house during the day. 00:08:37.65\00:08:40.38 And while he was at home, he would stay there, 00:08:40.42\00:08:42.92 but he would only go out at night 00:08:42.95\00:08:44.49 because he was so plagued by what he was done 00:08:44.52\00:08:47.19 that he... what he had done 00:08:47.22\00:08:48.56 that he felt that everybody was after him, 00:08:48.59\00:08:50.59 so this violation of conscience 00:08:50.63\00:08:52.46 can even affect your level of anxiety 00:08:52.49\00:08:55.80 and trust in people 00:08:55.83\00:08:57.37 because you're so used to doing those things 00:08:57.40\00:08:59.50 that are wrong that you think everybody else 00:08:59.53\00:09:00.87 was looking at you 00:09:00.90\00:09:02.24 and wanting to do the same thing. 00:09:02.27\00:09:03.61 So that's why, 00:09:03.64\00:09:04.97 you know, we talk about violating conscience 00:09:05.01\00:09:07.68 but it can affect the peace and contentment 00:09:07.71\00:09:10.31 that we have in our own lives. 00:09:10.35\00:09:11.75 But I suppose one of the greatest ways 00:09:11.78\00:09:13.45 to violate your conscience, 00:09:13.48\00:09:14.82 and I'll just go back to my example, 00:09:14.85\00:09:16.58 if I had realized that, 00:09:16.62\00:09:19.55 "Yes, this was, 00:09:19.59\00:09:21.26 you know, they didn't charge me. 00:09:21.29\00:09:22.96 Well, I don't want to go back in there in that mob." 00:09:22.99\00:09:25.39 If I had driven home, 00:09:25.43\00:09:27.86 I would have violated my conscience 00:09:27.90\00:09:30.57 and by doing something, 00:09:30.60\00:09:31.93 when you're being led to do what's right, 00:09:31.97\00:09:34.54 and you do what's wrong, 00:09:34.57\00:09:36.17 it then violates your conscience. 00:09:36.20\00:09:39.04 Let's say that somebody had an affair, 00:09:39.07\00:09:41.11 then their conscience is violated, 00:09:41.14\00:09:43.14 so then how they respond 00:09:43.18\00:09:46.28 to that violation is very important 00:09:46.31\00:09:48.38 because if you don't correct it, 00:09:48.42\00:09:49.75 I guess, you end up going off the deep end. 00:09:49.78\00:09:52.15 You know, you bring that story up, 00:09:52.19\00:09:53.92 and that example up and it reminds me 00:09:53.96\00:09:55.72 of another story of a couple who I knew. 00:09:55.76\00:09:58.59 And the husband started to hear voices and see things. 00:09:58.63\00:10:03.00 And the wife started to question, 00:10:03.03\00:10:04.53 "Honey, why you think what's happening?" 00:10:04.57\00:10:07.07 Finally, after a couple of weeks, 00:10:07.10\00:10:08.44 he reported that he had had multiple affairs on her. 00:10:08.47\00:10:12.77 So his conscience was bothering him, 00:10:12.81\00:10:14.91 and as of result of him violating his conscience, 00:10:14.94\00:10:17.38 and not responding to the Holy Spirit's voice, 00:10:17.41\00:10:19.75 he started to experience psychotic symptoms. 00:10:19.78\00:10:22.68 And I personally believe that some people 00:10:22.72\00:10:24.69 sitting in psychiatric hospitals right now 00:10:24.72\00:10:27.22 is because they violated their conscience 00:10:27.26\00:10:29.12 so much and they're dealing with all the guilt 00:10:29.16\00:10:31.03 that's coming from them. 00:10:31.06\00:10:32.66 There's no research to support what I'm saying 00:10:32.69\00:10:34.86 but that one little story 00:10:34.90\00:10:36.60 and understanding of the conscience 00:10:36.63\00:10:37.97 helps me to know that 00:10:38.00\00:10:39.33 that can affect us our mental health in that way. 00:10:39.37\00:10:42.40 Did he live to correct this? 00:10:42.44\00:10:45.27 He did correct it. He did? 00:10:45.31\00:10:47.54 I just realized what you are saying. 00:10:47.58\00:10:49.98 If my husband had confessed multiple affairs, 00:10:50.01\00:10:52.68 he may not have had to worry about violating conscience. 00:10:52.71\00:10:57.19 No. But, yeah. It's just amazing. 00:10:57.22\00:11:00.56 And the other thing when I think about conscience, 00:11:00.59\00:11:02.52 you've heard of the words psychopath and sociopath. 00:11:02.56\00:11:05.86 In the field of psychology, 00:11:05.89\00:11:07.23 they describe them as having no conscience 00:11:07.26\00:11:09.20 and I used to believe 00:11:09.23\00:11:10.57 that until I started to read the Bible. 00:11:10.60\00:11:11.93 We all have a conscience. 00:11:11.97\00:11:13.74 What has happened to them 00:11:13.77\00:11:15.10 is that they've engaged in these behaviors, 00:11:15.14\00:11:17.41 they've so used to persistently 00:11:17.44\00:11:19.61 violating their conscience and just ignoring that voice, 00:11:19.64\00:11:22.64 that they actually get to the point 00:11:22.68\00:11:24.08 where the Bible say they seared their conscience. 00:11:24.11\00:11:27.22 When something is seared, you no longer feel it, do you? 00:11:27.25\00:11:30.29 It becomes numb. 00:11:30.32\00:11:31.65 And so when you hear 00:11:31.69\00:11:33.02 these people committing these horrendous acts... 00:11:33.05\00:11:35.52 One author that I like, Ellen White, 00:11:35.56\00:11:37.33 she says that things were done, 00:11:37.36\00:11:38.69 and I love this word "imperceptibly," imperceptibly. 00:11:38.73\00:11:42.03 So all along, 00:11:42.06\00:11:43.40 they've been violating their conscience 00:11:43.43\00:11:44.83 in various areas, violating, to eventually 00:11:44.87\00:11:47.77 it leads to this horrendous act that we see coming on the news, 00:11:47.80\00:11:51.37 shooting in schools, going postal, 00:11:51.41\00:11:54.34 killing their children. 00:11:54.38\00:11:55.71 It doesn't just happen all overnight, 00:11:55.74\00:11:57.58 it's a continual violation of conscience 00:11:57.61\00:12:00.22 that eventually leads to this big acts. 00:12:00.25\00:12:02.22 So this violation of conscience is a serious thing 00:12:02.25\00:12:04.85 that we need to take very, 00:12:04.89\00:12:07.66 you know, pay a lot of attention to 00:12:07.69\00:12:09.02 because it can lead us doing things 00:12:09.06\00:12:10.39 we'd never imagine we'd do. 00:12:10.43\00:12:11.76 But do you think that all psychotic breaks, 00:12:11.79\00:12:14.26 I mean, we wouldn't say 00:12:14.30\00:12:15.63 that all psychotic breaks are... 00:12:15.66\00:12:17.00 No, no. 00:12:17.03\00:12:18.37 Because there are people, 00:12:18.40\00:12:19.73 when you mentioned killing your children, 00:12:19.77\00:12:21.10 I'm thinking of the stories 00:12:21.14\00:12:22.47 where you realize it was somebody 00:12:22.50\00:12:24.44 who is violating their conscience 00:12:24.47\00:12:26.04 because they were doing it to rid themselves 00:12:26.07\00:12:29.61 of the responsibilities of caring for their children. 00:12:29.64\00:12:35.02 But then you hear stories of mothers, 00:12:35.05\00:12:37.09 I'm thinking of the poor mother, 00:12:37.12\00:12:38.45 down in Texas who drove her children off 00:12:38.49\00:12:40.72 into the ocean who was bipolar, 00:12:40.76\00:12:44.16 so there are chemical imbalance, 00:12:44.19\00:12:45.63 we're not saying that anybody who has a psychotic break 00:12:45.66\00:12:50.70 is because of a seared conscience 00:12:50.73\00:12:52.67 but seared conscience 00:12:52.70\00:12:54.80 can certainly lead to a psychotic break. 00:12:54.84\00:12:56.17 Yes. 00:12:56.20\00:12:57.57 I'm glad you're making 00:12:57.61\00:12:58.94 that clarification let's people should think 00:12:58.97\00:13:00.91 it's always due to that. 00:13:00.94\00:13:02.28 You're right. 00:13:02.31\00:13:03.65 Another thing about conscience, 00:13:03.68\00:13:05.01 and you kind of referred to that earlier, 00:13:05.05\00:13:06.92 I think, you and I were talking, 00:13:06.95\00:13:08.28 the whole area 00:13:08.32\00:13:09.65 of a falsely trained conscience. 00:13:09.68\00:13:12.69 Some of us go up in homes where we sent messages 00:13:12.72\00:13:16.09 that can easily lead us to feel guilt 00:13:16.12\00:13:18.53 about the very little, smallest things, 00:13:18.56\00:13:22.10 and things that are not really wrong 00:13:22.13\00:13:23.67 we taught are wrong. 00:13:23.70\00:13:25.03 So that when we get older, 00:13:25.07\00:13:26.40 it's just we're so sensitive 00:13:26.43\00:13:28.10 and it doesn't take much to just really cause us 00:13:28.14\00:13:31.07 to feel guilt and shame at things 00:13:31.11\00:13:32.54 we shouldn't feel guilt and shame about. 00:13:32.57\00:13:34.24 And that's a falsely trained conscience. 00:13:34.28\00:13:35.81 And the thing about a falsely trained conscience 00:13:35.84\00:13:39.68 as well is that it can completely interrupt 00:13:39.71\00:13:44.55 your relationship with the Lord. 00:13:44.59\00:13:46.55 And let me say this just personally. 00:13:46.59\00:13:49.39 I grew up believing 00:13:49.42\00:13:50.76 I had to be perfect for God to love me. 00:13:50.79\00:13:53.50 That is a falsely trained conscience 00:13:53.53\00:13:55.40 to where anything I did, 00:13:55.43\00:13:56.77 that was anything less than perfect, 00:13:56.80\00:13:58.53 I remember when I first went to college, 00:13:58.57\00:14:00.54 they called me goody two shoes and all that 00:14:00.57\00:14:02.20 because I tried so hard to do everything perfectly 00:14:02.24\00:14:05.67 because at the time 00:14:05.71\00:14:07.04 I'd been trained I would burn in... 00:14:07.08\00:14:09.44 I don't think... 00:14:09.48\00:14:10.81 I think I was... my motivation was 00:14:10.85\00:14:12.45 so I wouldn't burn eternally in hell, 00:14:12.48\00:14:15.18 and you finally get to a point 00:14:15.22\00:14:18.19 when you've been falsely trained 00:14:18.22\00:14:20.62 that the conscience, 00:14:20.66\00:14:21.99 you get to a point where you recognize 00:14:22.02\00:14:24.06 this is absolutely... 00:14:24.09\00:14:26.39 your expectations are too high of me, 00:14:26.43\00:14:28.80 I give up, and you don't want that constant burden 00:14:28.83\00:14:32.97 in your conscience and I went the other direction. 00:14:33.00\00:14:35.44 I actually kind of walked away 00:14:35.47\00:14:36.97 from the Lord for a couple of years. 00:14:37.01\00:14:38.57 He chased me down. 00:14:38.61\00:14:40.18 But it was like, "Lord, I can't please you. 00:14:40.21\00:14:42.88 So why try?" 00:14:42.91\00:14:44.55 You know, you want to put salve on your conscience. 00:14:44.58\00:14:47.68 That's right. You wanted to heal that. 00:14:47.72\00:14:49.85 That's right. Yeah. 00:14:49.88\00:14:51.22 And parents have to be so careful. 00:14:51.25\00:14:52.99 One person said that 00:14:53.02\00:14:54.42 a person, a child is born with a canvas, 00:14:54.46\00:14:57.83 just a clean canvas 00:14:57.86\00:14:59.39 and the parents can paint on things, 00:14:59.43\00:15:01.86 on their things that are right or wrong. 00:15:01.90\00:15:03.87 And that person grows up 00:15:03.90\00:15:05.23 with those impressions of what is right and wrong 00:15:05.27\00:15:07.67 and that educates their conscience 00:15:07.70\00:15:09.37 either for good or for bad. 00:15:09.40\00:15:10.74 We have to be very careful, 00:15:10.77\00:15:12.24 those who are parents to make sure 00:15:12.27\00:15:13.74 that we're teaching our children to have a clean, 00:15:13.78\00:15:15.91 pure, healthy conscience 00:15:15.94\00:15:18.68 and not bringing them up in homes 00:15:18.71\00:15:20.28 with a lot of dos and don'ts 00:15:20.32\00:15:21.75 and they had that falsely trained conscience 00:15:21.78\00:15:24.15 and takes away from their mental experience, 00:15:24.19\00:15:26.09 healthy one, 00:15:26.12\00:15:27.46 and spiritual experience as well. 00:15:27.49\00:15:28.82 Amen, amen. This is good stuff. 00:15:28.86\00:15:31.73 Yeah. 00:15:31.76\00:15:33.09 You know, there's a thing, 00:15:33.13\00:15:34.46 this quote from counsels to teachers 00:15:34.50\00:15:37.23 I believe it is and she says, 00:15:37.27\00:15:38.93 "The consciousness of right doing 00:15:38.97\00:15:42.17 is the best medicine for deceased bodies and minds." 00:15:42.20\00:15:47.38 Isn't that powerful? 00:15:47.41\00:15:48.74 The consciousness of right doing 00:15:48.78\00:15:50.78 is the best medicine for deceased bodies and minds? 00:15:50.81\00:15:54.45 Doing right 00:15:54.48\00:15:55.88 not because we're trying to earn salvation, 00:15:55.92\00:15:58.09 not because we're trying to please God 00:15:58.12\00:15:59.65 but just because we know in our minds, 00:15:59.69\00:16:01.19 this is right and this is wrong. 00:16:01.22\00:16:02.82 And doing it can give us 00:16:02.86\00:16:04.53 the most freedom from deceased bodies and minds. 00:16:04.56\00:16:07.56 And, you know, you're seeing the science now 00:16:07.60\00:16:11.10 that supports this, 00:16:11.13\00:16:12.67 that if you're suffering from a lot of guilt, 00:16:12.70\00:16:17.01 it causes stress on the body, you get stomach ulcers, 00:16:17.04\00:16:21.44 you get all kinds of colon issues, heart issues, 00:16:21.48\00:16:24.65 all of these various things but they're also finding now 00:16:24.68\00:16:27.98 that this has a great deal to do 00:16:28.02\00:16:30.79 with your mental and emotional health. 00:16:30.82\00:16:33.66 Right. I've dealt with so many people. 00:16:33.69\00:16:35.62 I remember a woman who came to me 00:16:35.66\00:16:37.56 she was feeling so bad. 00:16:37.59\00:16:38.93 Her conscience, I guess, was bothering her 00:16:38.96\00:16:41.16 based on some of the things 00:16:41.20\00:16:42.63 that she did to her children, and I just quickly, 00:16:42.66\00:16:45.93 because I was running through the hall, 00:16:45.97\00:16:47.30 getting ready to go 00:16:47.34\00:16:48.67 from one seminar to the next, I was at a church and she says, 00:16:48.70\00:16:51.11 "You know, Dr. Parks, I don't know what to do. 00:16:51.14\00:16:52.47 My conscience is just bothering me. 00:16:52.51\00:16:53.84 I feel so guilty." 00:16:53.88\00:16:55.21 And I just prayed to the Lord, I said a quick prayer. 00:16:55.24\00:16:56.64 And I said to her, 00:16:56.68\00:16:58.01 "You know, I want you to go home 00:16:58.05\00:16:59.38 and just read Psalms 32 and Psalms 51." 00:16:59.41\00:17:01.02 She said, "Why those Psalms?" 00:17:01.05\00:17:02.38 I said, "Those are the two Psalms 00:17:02.42\00:17:03.75 that David wrote 00:17:03.79\00:17:05.12 when he was dealing with his guilt 00:17:05.15\00:17:06.49 from Bathsheba and killing Uriah. 00:17:06.52\00:17:08.36 And, Shelley, this doesn't always happen. 00:17:08.39\00:17:10.19 The next day, I saw her 00:17:10.23\00:17:11.56 because I was doing a series of seminars at this church, 00:17:11.59\00:17:13.80 her face looked different, bright, 00:17:13.83\00:17:16.30 and I told her to put your name in place of when she says me, 00:17:16.33\00:17:19.00 mine, the pronouns and she came back 00:17:19.03\00:17:21.17 and she said, "I did what you told me 00:17:21.20\00:17:23.44 and the Lord has just lifted this guilt from me." 00:17:23.47\00:17:25.47 Praise the Lord. 00:17:25.51\00:17:26.84 And I said, "Praise God." 00:17:26.88\00:17:28.38 You know, He gives us remedies 00:17:28.41\00:17:29.98 for dealing with these violated consciences. 00:17:30.01\00:17:32.11 And I think it's important, 00:17:32.15\00:17:33.48 one of my favorite scriptures, 00:17:33.52\00:17:34.85 I've just turned to here is 1 John 3, 00:17:34.88\00:17:38.52 and I'm going to begin with verse 20. 00:17:38.55\00:17:39.92 Let me just read this. 00:17:39.95\00:17:41.29 It says, John wrote and said, 00:17:41.32\00:17:44.33 "For if our heart condemns us, 00:17:44.36\00:17:47.60 God is greater than our hearts, and knows all things. 00:17:47.63\00:17:51.73 Beloved, if our hearts does not condemn us, 00:17:51.77\00:17:55.60 we have confidence toward God and whatever we ask, 00:17:55.64\00:18:00.31 we receive from Him 00:18:00.34\00:18:01.74 because we keep His commands and do those things 00:18:01.78\00:18:05.01 that are pleasing in His sight." 00:18:05.05\00:18:07.32 The thing about having 00:18:07.35\00:18:09.62 that guilt-ridden conscience 00:18:09.65\00:18:14.32 as far as it affecting 00:18:14.36\00:18:15.69 your physical health and mental health, 00:18:15.72\00:18:17.56 it can certainly affect your spiritual health 00:18:17.59\00:18:20.30 because if you feel guilty around someone, 00:18:20.33\00:18:21.66 what do you do? 00:18:21.70\00:18:23.03 You avoid them. That's right. 00:18:23.06\00:18:24.40 And so if our heart condemns us, 00:18:24.43\00:18:26.13 we don't feel like we can go before the Lord. 00:18:26.17\00:18:28.27 But when our heart doesn't condemn us, 00:18:28.30\00:18:30.44 then we are quick to pray. 00:18:30.47\00:18:31.81 Amen. 00:18:31.84\00:18:33.17 So that makes perfect sense. Yeah, it's amazing. 00:18:33.21\00:18:35.74 How many are suffering right now 00:18:35.78\00:18:37.41 because of that and not recognizing 00:18:37.45\00:18:39.35 the importance of dealing with that. 00:18:39.38\00:18:41.38 So what can we do 00:18:41.42\00:18:43.18 when you're looking at all of these things 00:18:43.22\00:18:45.95 that happen with the conscience, 00:18:45.99\00:18:48.22 what can we do to strengthen our conscience? 00:18:48.26\00:18:51.49 There are lot of different things we can do. 00:18:51.53\00:18:53.19 The first thing that comes to my mind, Shelley, 00:18:53.23\00:18:55.20 is everyday at the end of the day, 00:18:55.23\00:18:57.53 we need to review our acts, daily. 00:18:57.57\00:19:01.67 Now what I mean by that, 00:19:01.70\00:19:03.04 you sit down and just spend some time 00:19:03.07\00:19:04.41 and if you're a Christian, 00:19:04.44\00:19:05.77 you ask the Holy Spirit because the Bible says, 00:19:05.81\00:19:07.28 "Search my heart and try me and know my thoughts." 00:19:07.31\00:19:10.55 So asking God, 00:19:10.58\00:19:11.91 "Okay, today, father, what did I do? 00:19:11.95\00:19:13.82 How did I listen to your voice? 00:19:13.85\00:19:15.42 How did I listen to the conscience? 00:19:15.45\00:19:16.92 Show me where I have, you know, failed you." 00:19:16.95\00:19:19.45 And when He reveals it, asking for forgiveness 00:19:19.49\00:19:22.69 so that the enemy won't come in and condemn you 00:19:22.72\00:19:24.96 as it's revealed the way that you did that 00:19:24.99\00:19:28.30 and the more you review your acts, 00:19:28.33\00:19:29.76 the more sensitive you be the next day. 00:19:29.80\00:19:32.43 That's good. 00:19:32.47\00:19:33.80 You know, so daily reviewing your acts, very important. 00:19:33.84\00:19:37.84 Another thing is... 00:19:37.87\00:19:39.21 Can I ask you? Sure. 00:19:39.24\00:19:40.58 You said you do this? 00:19:40.61\00:19:41.94 How long do you usually spend doing this? 00:19:41.98\00:19:44.11 Daily reviewing the acts? It can vary. 00:19:44.15\00:19:46.31 It's just a few minutes really. 00:19:46.35\00:19:48.32 It depends on what you've done that day 00:19:48.35\00:19:50.85 that violated the conscience but just a few minutes, 00:19:50.89\00:19:53.62 just some people may write things down 00:19:53.66\00:19:55.56 because sometimes writing things down is helpful 00:19:55.59\00:19:57.53 instead of keeping them in your head. 00:19:57.56\00:19:58.89 Cathartic? Cathartic. That's right. 00:19:58.93\00:20:00.86 So it just depends on where you are with your walk 00:20:00.90\00:20:03.33 with the Lord 00:20:03.37\00:20:04.70 and how much has gone on that day, 00:20:04.73\00:20:06.27 but a few minutes is probably ample time. 00:20:06.30\00:20:08.70 Yeah. 00:20:08.74\00:20:10.07 Of course, reading the Bible. 00:20:10.11\00:20:11.44 You ever heard people say, 00:20:11.47\00:20:12.81 "Well, I didn't feel bad 00:20:12.84\00:20:14.18 because my conscience didn't bother me about it." 00:20:14.21\00:20:15.64 You ever heard that? Sure. 00:20:15.68\00:20:17.01 Our conscience, I have to add this, 00:20:17.05\00:20:18.38 is not always a good guide 00:20:18.41\00:20:20.08 if it's not educated by the Bible. 00:20:20.12\00:20:21.68 Amen. 00:20:21.72\00:20:23.05 It has to be educated by the Word of God. 00:20:23.08\00:20:24.75 So when you say your conscience doesn't bother you, 00:20:24.79\00:20:27.26 my question is, 00:20:27.29\00:20:28.62 in my mind or sometimes I might say it 00:20:28.66\00:20:30.13 if it is a person I'm working with, 00:20:30.16\00:20:32.56 who educated your conscience? 00:20:32.59\00:20:33.96 Is it based on what you've seen on television, movies, 00:20:34.00\00:20:36.77 or is it God's word? 00:20:36.80\00:20:38.17 See, that's another falsely trained conscience. 00:20:38.20\00:20:40.70 Yes, it is. Yes, it is. 00:20:40.74\00:20:42.07 You know, that is not just 00:20:42.10\00:20:43.61 when expectations are put on you 00:20:43.64\00:20:45.44 but when there are no expectations, 00:20:45.47\00:20:47.64 when you are receiving 00:20:47.68\00:20:49.04 what the world is saying is right, 00:20:49.08\00:20:51.78 your conscience is falsely trained 00:20:51.81\00:20:54.22 and then I know that there are people who... 00:20:54.25\00:20:58.45 When I've talked about repentance 00:20:58.49\00:21:00.16 and the gift of repentance, 00:21:00.19\00:21:01.76 and there's people who are like, 00:21:01.79\00:21:03.12 "Well, I don't sin," 00:21:03.16\00:21:04.49 you know, and I'm thinking 00:21:04.53\00:21:06.13 how much of the Word of God do you have in you? 00:21:06.16\00:21:09.26 And the beautiful thing about this is interesting. 00:21:09.30\00:21:12.13 Because at home, you might be thinking, 00:21:12.17\00:21:13.70 "Well, if I don't know maybe I'm better off." 00:21:13.74\00:21:16.77 But once you learn what is pleasing to God, 00:21:16.81\00:21:20.68 and then you realize what's displeasing to Him, 00:21:20.71\00:21:24.88 and you pray for forgiveness, 00:21:24.91\00:21:27.08 but God just magnifies 00:21:27.12\00:21:30.59 the power of His love in your life 00:21:30.62\00:21:32.39 it seems to me because your conscience, 00:21:32.42\00:21:35.72 as it gets trained, 00:21:35.76\00:21:37.36 life just gets better 00:21:37.39\00:21:38.73 with a correctly trained conscience. 00:21:38.76\00:21:40.96 Amen, amen. 00:21:41.00\00:21:42.33 So you're making that method 00:21:42.36\00:21:45.70 for training your conscience even bigger. 00:21:45.73\00:21:47.70 Not only read the Bible regularly 00:21:47.74\00:21:49.57 but watch what you are putting into your mind 00:21:49.60\00:21:52.91 because that has an impact on your conscience. 00:21:52.94\00:21:54.84 So that's another way of strengthening it. 00:21:54.88\00:21:56.54 And actually I can say this early 00:21:56.58\00:21:57.91 the conscience is actually housed 00:21:57.95\00:21:59.78 in the frontal lobe, 00:21:59.81\00:22:01.58 so whatever we do to strengthen the frontal lobe, 00:22:01.62\00:22:04.45 will actually strengthen our conscience. 00:22:04.49\00:22:06.42 All right, so explain to someone 00:22:06.45\00:22:07.79 who doesn't know what the frontal lobe is. 00:22:07.82\00:22:10.06 Okay. 00:22:10.09\00:22:11.43 What that is and how would we strengthen 00:22:11.46\00:22:13.33 the frontal lobe? 00:22:13.36\00:22:14.70 All right, the frontal lobe, 00:22:14.73\00:22:16.06 as it says, it's that lobe 00:22:16.10\00:22:17.43 that's in the front of our heads... 00:22:17.47\00:22:18.80 In the brain. Brain, right. 00:22:18.83\00:22:20.17 And there are things 00:22:20.20\00:22:21.54 that we can do to make it stronger or weaker. 00:22:21.57\00:22:23.37 What is the function of the frontal lobe? 00:22:23.41\00:22:25.17 It helps us to make decisions, it's for judgment. 00:22:25.21\00:22:28.91 It helps us to know what's right or wrong. 00:22:28.94\00:22:31.55 Spirituality is housed in the frontal lobe, 00:22:31.58\00:22:33.95 our will is housed, 00:22:33.98\00:22:35.58 all of these things about decision-making 00:22:35.62\00:22:37.32 and judgment, and morality, 00:22:37.35\00:22:39.05 all of those are housed in the frontal lobe. 00:22:39.09\00:22:41.06 And so going back to what we said earlier, 00:22:41.09\00:22:44.03 when you read the Bible that actually strengthens 00:22:44.06\00:22:46.16 the frontal lobe, because the Bible... 00:22:46.19\00:22:47.56 especially Proverbs. 00:22:47.60\00:22:49.16 It takes time to analyze and understand 00:22:49.20\00:22:51.23 what Solomon is saying 00:22:51.27\00:22:53.00 and as you're doing that analysis 00:22:53.03\00:22:54.64 and that critical examination, 00:22:54.67\00:22:56.00 you're actually exercising your mind. 00:22:56.04\00:22:58.11 So whatever activity you can do to 00:22:58.14\00:22:59.67 exercise your mind, exercises the frontal lobe. 00:22:59.71\00:23:02.41 So when I pull out a novel, or a sensational magazine, 00:23:02.44\00:23:06.35 I'm not exercising my frontal lobe, 00:23:06.38\00:23:07.88 because it doesn't take much thinking for me 00:23:07.92\00:23:09.78 to be able to understand those things. 00:23:09.82\00:23:11.92 So watch what you're reading 00:23:11.95\00:23:13.29 to strengthen the frontal lobe 00:23:13.32\00:23:14.89 which will in turn strengthen your conscience, 00:23:14.92\00:23:17.29 read more of the Bible 00:23:17.33\00:23:18.86 and, of course, just lifestyle in general, 00:23:18.89\00:23:20.53 how do you eat, sleep, 00:23:20.56\00:23:21.90 all those things can strengthen the frontal lobe as well. 00:23:21.93\00:23:23.87 What we listen to, all of these things 00:23:23.90\00:23:26.17 which in turn will also strengthen your conscience. 00:23:26.20\00:23:28.97 When you said listen to, 00:23:29.00\00:23:30.34 I was thinking of my niece when she was young 13, 14, 00:23:30.37\00:23:35.28 and I was cleaning up her room. 00:23:35.31\00:23:37.25 I was caring for her at that time 00:23:37.28\00:23:38.61 and I went in to clean up her room 00:23:38.65\00:23:41.15 just because I couldn't take it any longer, 00:23:41.18\00:23:44.45 so I was straightening out things 00:23:44.49\00:23:45.82 and I found her headset. 00:23:45.85\00:23:48.62 It was still going and I put it up to my ear 00:23:48.66\00:23:51.86 and all I could hear of 00:23:51.89\00:23:53.26 was it was a song about suicide and I realized 00:23:53.29\00:23:57.03 she'd been listening to it all night long, 00:23:57.07\00:23:59.80 she listened to the music while she slept 00:23:59.83\00:24:02.20 and before I could even control myself, 00:24:02.24\00:24:05.57 I got that thing and I broke that CD. 00:24:05.61\00:24:08.64 And when she came home, 00:24:08.68\00:24:10.01 I told her what I've done and I apologized 00:24:10.05\00:24:11.88 but I explained to her. 00:24:11.91\00:24:13.42 I said, "Do you realize 00:24:13.45\00:24:14.78 that there's not a more sophisticated computer 00:24:14.82\00:24:17.19 in the world than your brain." 00:24:17.22\00:24:18.55 Yes. 00:24:18.59\00:24:19.92 But one thing that when I studied, 00:24:19.95\00:24:22.02 when I was studying computer programming, 00:24:22.06\00:24:25.59 what we were taught is garbage in, garbage out 00:24:25.63\00:24:28.86 and that you could see I can remember many a night 00:24:28.90\00:24:32.00 in the lab there, 00:24:32.03\00:24:34.70 you know, three o'clock in the morning 00:24:34.74\00:24:36.57 and because I had used the wrong syntax, 00:24:36.60\00:24:39.14 it had a semicolon instead of a colon, 00:24:39.17\00:24:41.04 when you're trying to write software 00:24:41.08\00:24:43.45 for the computers, that it was garbage in. 00:24:43.48\00:24:47.08 So all I was getting was in a loop 00:24:47.12\00:24:48.58 and I'm getting nothing out and I told her, 00:24:48.62\00:24:50.39 "You are programming your brain to think about suicide." 00:24:50.42\00:24:54.76 And I sometimes wonder with all these hip hop music 00:24:54.79\00:24:57.06 and various things that kids listen to now adays, 00:24:57.09\00:24:59.76 if this isn't something that, 00:24:59.79\00:25:02.90 you know, would you think that this could be something 00:25:02.93\00:25:07.64 that is actually making these actions manifest. 00:25:07.67\00:25:12.77 You know, even like the games, the computer games 00:25:12.81\00:25:16.04 where they are killing and stuff, 00:25:16.08\00:25:17.95 they begin to sear their conscience. 00:25:17.98\00:25:19.61 There you go. That's what's happening. 00:25:19.65\00:25:21.32 And that's what makes it so easy 00:25:21.35\00:25:23.42 for a young man come up to you, 00:25:23.45\00:25:24.79 pull out the gun, and just shoot you, 00:25:24.82\00:25:26.15 and have no remorse. 00:25:26.19\00:25:27.52 All along, they've been desensitizing 00:25:27.56\00:25:29.12 their conscience by the music, by the gaming, by the movies. 00:25:29.16\00:25:32.99 They're desensitizing in weakening the conscience. 00:25:33.03\00:25:35.46 Okay. 00:25:35.50\00:25:36.83 Well, we've got a couple more minutes. 00:25:36.87\00:25:38.20 What other things can we do to strengthen our conscience? 00:25:38.23\00:25:40.94 Actually, prayer. 00:25:40.97\00:25:42.30 You know, the Bible says, "If we confess our sins, 00:25:42.34\00:25:44.21 He's faithful and just to forgive us our sins 00:25:44.24\00:25:45.97 and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 00:25:46.01\00:25:47.41 Through prayer, 00:25:47.44\00:25:48.78 when we found we have violated the conscience, 00:25:48.81\00:25:50.55 we can go to the Lord and say, "Forgive me. 00:25:50.58\00:25:52.88 Father, help me to listen more to the Holy Spirit's voice." 00:25:52.91\00:25:55.68 And so praying can do a lot. 00:25:55.72\00:25:57.39 And just one simple thing is, 00:25:57.42\00:25:59.29 each day, start to be more careful 00:25:59.32\00:26:01.62 with listening to that voice, for us as Christians, 00:26:01.66\00:26:04.46 we say the Holy Spirit, 00:26:04.49\00:26:05.83 but because all of us have a conscience, 00:26:05.86\00:26:07.20 they just have a voice 00:26:07.23\00:26:08.56 that says do this and don't do that, 00:26:08.60\00:26:09.96 start to listen to that voice 00:26:10.00\00:26:11.43 even if it means delaying gratification, 00:26:11.47\00:26:14.34 denying self, start to pay more attention to that voice 00:26:14.37\00:26:17.61 and just listening to it as it speaks is something else. 00:26:17.64\00:26:21.14 And then something that I read in by Ellen White, 00:26:21.18\00:26:23.65 she says, "Behold in Christ crucified." 00:26:23.68\00:26:26.55 We'll just educate our conscience 00:26:26.58\00:26:28.75 as we see what He's done for us 00:26:28.78\00:26:30.72 and we imagine Him on that cross 00:26:30.75\00:26:32.29 and what He's done, 00:26:32.32\00:26:33.66 it will help us to be more sensitive 00:26:33.69\00:26:35.32 to want to follow the lifestyle that He's given to us. 00:26:35.36\00:26:39.26 You become or become what you behold. 00:26:39.29\00:26:41.00 That's right. 00:26:41.03\00:26:42.36 So those are the things, 00:26:42.40\00:26:43.73 that I daily reviewing our acts, 00:26:43.77\00:26:45.23 praying, making that choice 00:26:45.27\00:26:47.27 when we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit 00:26:47.30\00:26:49.47 and behold in Christ crucified... 00:26:49.50\00:26:50.97 Studying in the Bible. 00:26:51.01\00:26:52.34 Studying the Bible, yes. 00:26:52.37\00:26:54.01 Magna, as always, 00:26:54.04\00:26:55.68 it's a delight to have you here. 00:26:55.71\00:26:57.55 And I just praise God for the ministry 00:26:57.58\00:26:59.78 that you are doing. 00:26:59.81\00:27:01.15 And if you want to get in touch with Magna, 00:27:01.18\00:27:02.85 you can reach her 00:27:02.88\00:27:04.22 at info@bingoodhealth.com, 00:27:04.25\00:27:10.16 info@bingoodhealth.com. 00:27:10.19\00:27:16.23 And thank you so much for taking time 00:27:16.26\00:27:19.03 from your busy schedule to come here. 00:27:19.07\00:27:21.70 I know your precious husband travels with you. 00:27:21.74\00:27:23.91 He is in the control room right now 00:27:23.94\00:27:26.57 but we're very pleased to have you here 00:27:26.61\00:27:28.74 and thank you for bringing us this wonderful message. 00:27:28.78\00:27:31.68 For those of you at home, 00:27:31.71\00:27:33.08 our prayer is that 00:27:33.11\00:27:34.48 the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 00:27:34.52\00:27:37.42 the love of the Father, 00:27:37.45\00:27:38.79 and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit 00:27:38.82\00:27:40.76 will be with you today and always. 00:27:40.79\00:27:43.86 Thanks for joining us. 00:27:43.89\00:27:45.23
