He was speaking one day,

after everything else is

because the enemy

life in your perspective?

this affect your life?

Well, there was
big changes in my life

in the beginning
Ruthie because I have been a

Christian my whole life,
but there was just something

missing. And one
day, number of years ago

I came home from church
one afternoon and I just said,

I just don't want
to do this anymore.

There is got to be
something more to this.

And the Lord knew
that I was getting close

to that point of my

I, I had the usual
few moments of prayer

particularly before, I
would send my son off to school

or maybe over a
meal, there is something

but to really
have a prayer life,

didn't even know there
was such a thing and so,

And goes back to what
we were saying before,

it's a relationship
that you can't live without.

That's right. And you
were getting to a place

where you felt
hopeless without it,

somebody said, really the place

of hopelessness is a
great place to come to because

you realize, I don't
have this hope in myself.

That's right. I have to find it.

That's right, and so
that's kind of, what changed

for me was when the
Lord prompted me to go

pick up that book, I
had had it there on my desk

for several months
since the time that my mother

had sent it to, to
me, but had no interest

in really reading that.
The title didn't catch my eye

until that day, when
I cried out to the Lord

and said that that you
know this; there is got to be
00:08:01.41\00:08:03.42
something more of
this. And so he prompted me

to go pick that
book up and it was just

wonderful that afternoon.
I, I went through that book

in over halfway
through the author

who is Becky Tirabassi,
have you; I don't know,

if you've read
any of her stuff but,

Umm! Umm! Tirabassi,
she is a good friend.

She just, Oh! She
writes great on the

subject of prayer. And
she throws out the challenge

just spend an hour
a day with the Lord.

Yes. And, I wasn't
sure, how I was gonna

make that work, but
the Lord prompted me to

to finally after 2-3
mornings of me expecting him

to wake me up and
get me up earlier.

Then he prompted
me to set my alarm

and get up earlier, if I
really wanted to come there.

We have some
responsibilities, here too.

That's right, exactly and
that's, that's kind of how

we do all started.
So, I literally went from

first, first week of having,

relationship with the Lord.

And it took
sometime to get comfortable

in that relationship
and to, to recognize that

that hour of
the morning is truly

the hour of power and I
can't imagine living without

and soon you find
that an hour is not enough.

That's right. That
goes by so quickly.

you know, Becky Tirabassi

came to Oregon when we
were out there and she spoke

for a women's retreat.
She has such an authentic

powerful story. When
she was 15, she was a
00:09:14.10\00:09:17.93
she was a hopeless
alcoholic. And she finally
00:09:18.22\00:09:21.76
got to the place where she said,
00:09:22.01\00:09:23.42
I can't live like this,
I cannot live like this.

And then remember
she went into this church

and she found a
janitor who prayed with her.

Amen. And from that
time on her life was turned

over to the
Lord. And it's such a,

a powerful
testimony of what faith does

and what God does, amen

to meet the faith
asides of a mustard seed.

Yes. So, you were growing.

Yeah. Tell me what
happened after that?

So, I was growing
you know, in this,

in this prayer time with
the Lord and not realizing

that a lot of people
around me were also void

of having that prayer
time. And I really think that

collectively you
know, maybe this is why and,

in so many circles we
move forward in our power

rather than in the power
and the strength of the Lord.

plugged in the morning,

and so we depend
on what we can do.

first few months were

So, how did you, how did
you get to the next step.

Well, I started
looking for other people

that wanted to pray.
And, and the Lord had a

wonderful woman in
our conference at the time

was, who was a prayer leader

at the time. And, and so
every opportunity that I had

I would go to Shirley
and some of the other lady,

ladies were
doing things on prayer.

And I, I say
ladies, but praise the Lord.

Now, there is, there is many men

that are involved
in prayer ministries.

Well, back then it seem
to be mostly the ladies.

the most exciting things

Well, I went to Camp
Meeting and when I noticed

on the schedule that
they were doing prayer works

and I had never heard
of such you're saying.

So, curiosity I got
up early that one morning

and went and took
part in the prayer work

that surely led
there on the campus.

And I just fell in love
with that concept of praying

on side with inside.
And I could, I just saw

the benefits that there
was in prayer working and.

And, so you were inviting God.

Yes. To come into
that under the grounds

at the camp ground and
just do something special

for the people who were
coming there for a blessing.

Yes, and, and he sure
did. He answered our prayer

in big ways that
here I was actually

attending the meetings
that were in the youth chapel.

And the speaker was
talking with the young people

about all kinds of
purity issues and sharing

her own testimony and
that was just powerful

and it really touched my
life. And I didn't realize

at the time that there
were issues that the Lord

really wanted to
do with in my life.

And now through the
course of that week,

some deep healing
in my own heart really

started taking
place and by the end of.

That's the God good.

He is so good. He
always knows what we need.

And by the end of that
week, when she prayed her

closing prayer the last
Sabbath of Camp Meeting,

there was truly
that mighty rushing wind

that we read about in Acts
00:13:50.92\00:13:51.89
that came through that building.
00:13:52.06\00:13:53.43
And the Lord just
really reached down

and heeled some, some
deep wounds in my soul.

And from that moment
forward I could just sense

that the Holy Spirit
had done something different

and had empowered me
for something different

that was yet
ahead. That was exciting.

That is wonderful

the Holy Spirit comes in

there is always healing,

and then beginning

that we had situation
that happened at Camp Meeting.

And we just felt
that somehow we needed to

invite those kids to
a deeper level of prayer

there had been some youth
prayer ministries happening
00:15:14.62\00:15:16.28
but we felt that we
needed something deeper.

And so four five
adults and myself

we went into a circle of prayer

and that was from that circle

that the Lord inspired
us with a vision to begin a

team prayer
ministry in our conference

that later took on
the name extreme teams.

And we did that
for, for about six years,

the kids now mostly all
in college and graduating.

Finding to see.
And so see how that,

how it impacted their lives,

but we had a lot of
really nice experiences

that she had been dealing

some healing on. And she
was sharing that with the kids.

that there were others

that were there,
that were wrestling

with similar situation.

And, and so, as she shared

forward to share her testimony

she had been really
dealing with a lot of abuse

from her past.
And stemming from that

was also some
demonic depression that was

even happening right
there in her dorm room

and she shared a lot of
that and asked that the Lord

would make her whole and
that was the exciting part.

desired to make her whole

and it gave our kids
an opportunity to pray
