Hello, I'm Shelley Quinn, 00:00:30.89\00:00:31.99 and welcome again to issues and answers. 00:00:32.02\00:00:33.90 We are so glad that you could join us today 00:00:33.93\00:00:36.24 and I think that you are going to find this a fascinating topic 00:00:36.27\00:00:39.57 because our issue today is going to be 00:00:39.60\00:00:42.57 God's plan of salvation for your children 00:00:42.60\00:00:45.50 and how this plan is perfectly depicted in the sanctuary. 00:00:45.53\00:00:49.61 Let me read you one of my favorite scriptures 00:00:49.64\00:00:52.22 and this is a Bible promise that you can hold on to it. 00:00:52.25\00:00:55.51 It comes from Hebrews 4:16 00:00:55.54\00:00:59.17 and the Bible says, "Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, 00:00:59.20\00:01:05.20 that we may receive mercy and find grace 00:01:05.23\00:01:08.40 to help in good time for every need." 00:01:08.43\00:01:12.87 You know, Hebrew 7:25 says that 00:01:12.90\00:01:15.12 Jesus is living to make intercession for us 00:01:15.15\00:01:18.57 and God is inviting us as His children 00:01:18.60\00:01:21.48 to come before Him to talk with Him, 00:01:21.51\00:01:24.90 to let Him talk with us 00:01:24.93\00:01:26.75 and to know that He is a God who knows us intimately 00:01:26.78\00:01:31.77 and He wants to be involved in every detail, 00:01:31.80\00:01:35.73 intimate detail of our lives. 00:01:35.76\00:01:38.03 Well, please help me welcome our special guest 00:01:38.06\00:01:41.39 and that is Martin Weber 00:01:41.42\00:01:42.73 and Martin we are so glad that you have come back again. 00:01:42.76\00:01:45.43 Oh, thanks. 00:01:45.46\00:01:46.67 You know, you have been here several times before 00:01:46.70\00:01:48.90 and we've had some good discussions 00:01:48.93\00:01:51.14 about how to keep kids in the church. 00:01:51.17\00:01:54.90 And today we are going to be talking 00:01:54.93\00:01:56.39 about a very fascinating topic to me, 00:01:56.42\00:01:59.79 and that's heaven's plan to save your kids 00:01:59.82\00:02:01.76 as seen through the sanctuary. 00:02:01.79\00:02:03.91 Now you are, for those who have not seen you before, 00:02:03.94\00:02:08.09 you are the Communications Director 00:02:08.12\00:02:10.20 for Mid-America Region of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:02:10.23\00:02:13.69 You are the editor for the Outlet Magazine, 00:02:13.72\00:02:16.28 Just finished your doctorial studies 00:02:16.31\00:02:18.18 and everything that we've been discussing has come from, 00:02:18.21\00:02:22.53 as you worked in the doctorate in divinity, is that what it is? 00:02:22.56\00:02:28.14 I mean doctor of ministry. Yeah. 00:02:28.17\00:02:30.15 Doctor of Ministry. 00:02:30.18\00:02:31.24 So you have done all of this research 00:02:31.27\00:02:36.38 and found some fascinating things. 00:02:36.41\00:02:38.49 So let's talk about why the Sanctuary 00:02:38.52\00:02:43.24 and this pre-advent judgment is actually something 00:02:43.27\00:02:47.52 that if your children understand, 00:02:47.55\00:02:49.46 it will help keep them in the church. 00:02:49.49\00:02:51.04 Yes, yes. 00:02:51.07\00:02:52.32 The Bible talks in a New Testament 00:02:52.35\00:02:54.57 about the same Old and New Testament 00:02:54.60\00:02:56.73 about the sanctuary. 00:02:56.76\00:02:58.64 The word "sanctuary" means refuge, 00:02:58.67\00:03:01.39 just like during the old slave days 00:03:01.42\00:03:03.63 the nation of Canada was for escaping slaves, 00:03:03.66\00:03:06.63 a sanctuary, a place of refuge. 00:03:06.66\00:03:08.85 They were going north through the underground railroads, 00:03:08.88\00:03:11.04 you know, and find refuge there. 00:03:11.07\00:03:14.33 And Jesus today is working harder for us 00:03:14.36\00:03:18.86 than He did when He was here on this earth. 00:03:18.89\00:03:21.34 Because here on this earth He had to take time out of sleep 00:03:21.37\00:03:24.59 and do the things we all need to do or we like to expect. 00:03:24.62\00:03:27.48 In the sanctuary, the Bible says right now here, 00:03:27.51\00:03:30.78 right now He ever lives, 00:03:30.81\00:03:32.50 always lives to make intercession for us 24x7. 00:03:32.53\00:03:36.16 Amen. And that's so exciting. 00:03:36.19\00:03:38.71 Sometimes people will say, "Oh, I need a prayer partner." 00:03:38.74\00:03:41.61 And a lot of times people, because I am on television, 00:03:41.64\00:03:43.86 you know, they will call in or write 00:03:43.89\00:03:45.83 and say will you be my prayer partner? 00:03:45.86\00:03:47.40 And I can't obviously. 00:03:47.43\00:03:49.19 So I'll tell them if you can't find any prayer partner, 00:03:49.22\00:03:52.31 just know that there is one in heaven 00:03:52.34\00:03:54.31 who is interceding with you. 00:03:54.34\00:03:55.54 I mean He's praying with you right now 00:03:55.57\00:03:57.01 and Jesus is your prayer partner. 00:03:57.04\00:03:58.47 Yeah, and He is interceding. 00:03:58.50\00:04:01.24 It's another word for it, He is our advocate. 00:04:01.27\00:04:04.25 Absolutely. Advocate. 00:04:04.28\00:04:05.70 And He is not trying to get God the Father to like us 00:04:05.73\00:04:09.71 or want us to be saved like He wants us to be saved 00:04:09.74\00:04:14.01 or rather the two of them are working together 00:04:14.04\00:04:16.49 against our common adversary, which is the enemy, the devil. 00:04:16.52\00:04:21.41 Now let me make sure everyone understood what you just said. 00:04:21.44\00:04:24.18 God loves us unconditionally, 00:04:24.21\00:04:26.00 and Jesus isn't trying to convince the Father to love us 00:04:26.03\00:04:28.98 because He's loved us with an everlasting love, 00:04:29.01\00:04:32.03 therefore He draws us with love and kindness, 00:04:32.06\00:04:35.04 but rather the two of them are working together 00:04:35.07\00:04:38.28 against our adversary Satan who is the accuser of brethren. 00:04:38.31\00:04:42.20 He is the accuser of the brethren. 00:04:42.23\00:04:44.01 The word adversary or accuser is right there in the name, Satan. 00:04:44.04\00:04:48.12 It's very dramatic throughout scripture 00:04:48.15\00:04:50.06 particularly in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 12 00:04:50.09\00:04:52.51 where it talks about the devil, 00:04:52.54\00:04:55.22 Satan, accusing us before the Father 00:04:55.25\00:04:58.22 and day and night as being unworthy. 00:04:58.25\00:05:01.43 You cast me out of heaven, 00:05:01.46\00:05:03.73 how dare you bring them up there 00:05:03.76\00:05:05.26 when they do some of the same things I tempt them to do. 00:05:05.29\00:05:07.84 Yes, yes. 00:05:07.87\00:05:09.25 So now when you were studying this, 00:05:09.28\00:05:12.63 how do you think that the pre-advent judgment 00:05:12.66\00:05:17.39 shows God's willingness to dialogue with us? 00:05:17.42\00:05:21.71 Yeah. Dialogue as we talked about is a major factor 00:05:21.74\00:05:27.02 in avoiding attrition instead of because I said so. 00:05:27.05\00:05:32.00 So we are talking about attrition 00:05:32.03\00:05:33.42 and children leaving the church 00:05:33.45\00:05:35.50 and if a parent will actually communicate 00:05:35.53\00:05:39.11 and dialogue and let the child speak back 00:05:39.14\00:05:41.95 and be open instead of just, 00:05:41.98\00:05:45.87 you are going to do because I said so. 00:05:45.90\00:05:47.65 Yeah. 00:05:47.68\00:05:48.71 Some Christians have a view of God that's very arbitrary. 00:05:48.74\00:05:52.11 You know, He even determines arbitrarily apparently 00:05:52.14\00:05:55.02 before people are born, 00:05:55.05\00:05:56.16 whether they are going to be saved or lost. 00:05:56.19\00:05:58.19 It's a very Calvinistic view. 00:05:58.22\00:05:59.79 Yeah, yeah, 00:05:59.82\00:06:00.89 and of course a lot of people 00:06:00.92\00:06:01.97 duly love the Lord and believe that, 00:06:02.00\00:06:03.77 but the view of God if we as parents 00:06:03.80\00:06:09.08 whether we are clergy 00:06:09.11\00:06:10.14 or otherwise have that way towards our kids 00:06:10.17\00:06:12.79 because I said so, you know, arbitrarily, 00:06:12.82\00:06:16.75 extrinsic rather than engaging 00:06:16.78\00:06:20.66 and God says, "Come now, let us reason together." 00:06:20.69\00:06:24.40 Right. 00:06:24.43\00:06:26.02 There are couple of things 00:06:26.05\00:06:28.22 about the Old Testament sanctuary 00:06:28.25\00:06:31.18 that are so beautifully reflected 00:06:31.21\00:06:34.26 to the New Testament ministry of Christ. 00:06:34.29\00:06:36.10 May I share it? 00:06:36.13\00:06:37.16 Please. Please, do. 00:06:37.19\00:06:38.22 Okay. 00:06:38.25\00:06:40.09 In the Hebrew legal system 00:06:40.12\00:06:42.02 there were no advocates normally. 00:06:42.05\00:06:47.34 If you witness the crime, 00:06:47.37\00:06:48.65 if you saw me at WalMart stealing something, 00:06:48.68\00:06:54.06 back in Old Testament times you understand-- 00:06:54.09\00:06:55.73 Right, with the WalMart ahead off the cyanide. 00:06:55.76\00:06:59.88 Yeah, off the cyanide, yeah, right there. 00:06:59.91\00:07:02.29 If you saw me taking something 00:07:02.32\00:07:04.04 that was yours specific duty to prosecute, 00:07:04.07\00:07:07.24 to bring me before the judge 00:07:07.27\00:07:08.46 and say I saw Martin doing such as such, you know. 00:07:08.49\00:07:11.98 And so there are words before the judge. 00:07:12.01\00:07:14.38 Now there was no defender for me, 00:07:14.41\00:07:16.91 because the judge was required by Hebrew law to take my side. 00:07:16.94\00:07:21.99 The Judge was your advocate. 00:07:22.02\00:07:23.28 Yes. He was your defender. 00:07:23.31\00:07:24.34 Yes. Right. 00:07:24.37\00:07:25.74 Now here in our western legal system, 00:07:25.77\00:07:27.95 which we get through the Romans, the Judge has to be neutral. 00:07:27.98\00:07:33.52 If there's a biased one way or the other, 00:07:33.55\00:07:35.89 the judge must recuse himself and step back. 00:07:35.92\00:07:40.06 But back in Hebrew times, 00:07:40.09\00:07:41.92 no, the judge was biased and prejudiced in favor of-- 00:07:41.95\00:07:46.61 Hallelujah. Yeah. 00:07:46.64\00:07:48.22 Isn't that exciting? 00:07:48.25\00:07:49.39 Yeah, in favor of the defender. 00:07:49.42\00:07:50.77 Now of course the judge had to be fair. 00:07:50.80\00:07:53.07 So if you could, you know, show a video 00:07:53.10\00:07:55.83 from your cell phone of me taking that 00:07:55.86\00:07:59.06 whatever I was taking from WalMart you know, 00:07:59.09\00:08:01.51 if you are the evidence 00:08:01.54\00:08:02.87 the judge had to reluctantly abandon his defense of me 00:08:02.90\00:08:07.32 and see to it that a just justice would be executed. 00:08:07.35\00:08:11.29 But, that was not the predisposition. 00:08:11.32\00:08:12.99 The predisposition was vindication. 00:08:13.02\00:08:16.26 And what so exciting about that is 00:08:16.29\00:08:18.28 because Christ is called our advocate. 00:08:18.31\00:08:20.29 He is also called our judge. 00:08:20.32\00:08:21.81 So he is the Father and the son are actually on our side 00:08:21.84\00:08:27.26 and if this evidence that's presented to them 00:08:27.29\00:08:33.21 is found to be true 00:08:33.24\00:08:35.56 and if refutably true 00:08:35.59\00:08:37.34 and we are not seeking refuge in Christ 00:08:37.37\00:08:40.70 then there will be a penalty. Yeah, absolutely. 00:08:40.73\00:08:44.60 The penalty of sin is death. 00:08:44.63\00:08:47.26 Yeah, it wasn't an inconsequence thing 00:08:47.29\00:08:50.03 that Jesus died. 00:08:50.06\00:08:52.14 He didn't die in vain. 00:08:52.17\00:08:53.20 He died for a purpose for us to find a refuge. 00:08:53.23\00:08:55.57 Now here is what I really get excited 00:08:55.60\00:08:59.06 because although they were not advocates 00:08:59.09\00:09:01.93 or defense attorneys normally, 00:09:01.96\00:09:04.14 and three situations in Old Testament times 00:09:04.17\00:09:06.87 in Hebrew legal system 00:09:06.90\00:09:08.03 and three situations there were advocates. 00:09:08.06\00:09:12.89 And this is from the Jewish encyclopedia. 00:09:12.92\00:09:14.71 Number one, if the accused was the spouse of, 00:09:14.74\00:09:21.82 if you were the husband of the accused and more as charges, 00:09:21.85\00:09:26.35 then the husband was a court appointed advocate 00:09:26.38\00:09:29.29 to represent the wife. 00:09:29.32\00:09:32.33 Christ and His pride. 00:09:32.36\00:09:33.54 There you go. I love it. 00:09:33.57\00:09:35.23 Yeah, Christ stands up for His pride which is being accused. 00:09:35.26\00:09:39.87 So number one, number two is, 00:09:39.90\00:09:43.57 if there was a minor child, 00:09:43.60\00:09:48.04 a girl under 13 and a boy under 12, 00:09:48.07\00:09:50.77 in the Hebrew legal system 00:09:50.80\00:09:52.46 a child was given a court appointed advocate. 00:09:52.49\00:09:57.35 Praise God. 00:09:57.38\00:09:58.41 And so we are children. 00:09:58.44\00:10:00.08 We are children of God. 00:10:00.11\00:10:01.81 So we have an advocate appointed by the judge to represent Him 00:10:01.84\00:10:07.66 and to represent us before Him against Satan 00:10:07.69\00:10:11.68 who is accusing in helping. 00:10:11.71\00:10:14.32 The judge vindicated. 00:10:14.35\00:10:17.34 And the third, now this not very flattering of human nature, 00:10:17.37\00:10:20.93 but when I hear to be flattered. 00:10:20.96\00:10:22.55 If there was an insane person, 00:10:22.58\00:10:26.18 if there was insane person 00:10:26.21\00:10:28.68 that obviously couldn't defend himself or herself 00:10:28.71\00:10:31.99 the judge was required by lateral point 00:10:32.02\00:10:35.03 and advocate to represent this insane person. 00:10:35.06\00:10:38.03 Now of course, the Bible, says that the whole head is sick. 00:10:38.06\00:10:42.90 The whole heart is faint. 00:10:42.93\00:10:44.83 Sin is insane. 00:10:44.86\00:10:46.70 You know, it's insane to treat the people 00:10:46.73\00:10:48.84 we love the most the worst, that's insane. 00:10:48.87\00:10:52.63 It's insane to do the stuff 00:10:52.66\00:10:54.99 we are tempted to do too often indeed. 00:10:55.02\00:10:57.66 Dude, in our weakonomics that's insane. 00:10:57.69\00:11:00.40 Absolutely. 00:11:00.43\00:11:01.46 It's insane not love the Lord 00:11:01.49\00:11:02.91 with all our hearts and soul and mind. 00:11:02.94\00:11:05.05 It's insane, it's insane, 00:11:05.08\00:11:06.20 whatever that you yield towards temptation, we are in the flush. 00:11:06.23\00:11:10.43 We are insane. Oh, that's true. 00:11:10.46\00:11:12.45 And God is sort of condemning us, 00:11:12.48\00:11:15.02 He pity's us by giving us a quarter pointed advocate, 00:11:15.05\00:11:18.96 who stands up for us in the sanctuary 00:11:18.99\00:11:21.83 with Him and represents us. 00:11:21.86\00:11:26.02 So they are right there in the Jewish encyclopedia 00:11:26.05\00:11:28.92 from the Hebrew legal system in the Old Testament, 00:11:28.95\00:11:31.91 we have these glorious New Testament Gospel principles 00:11:31.94\00:11:35.77 of father and son working together 00:11:35.80\00:11:39.01 for our vindication against the enemy 00:11:39.04\00:11:42.12 who is accusing us like he accused Job. 00:11:42.15\00:11:45.13 And you know when you think about this, 00:11:45.16\00:11:49.93 I use this illustration 00:11:49.96\00:11:51.59 that what Satan's favorite snares 00:11:51.62\00:11:55.86 is he takes us to his baton of self-condemnation 00:11:55.89\00:11:59.64 and he is passing it off to us. 00:11:59.67\00:12:01.83 And so what we do is not realizing 00:12:01.86\00:12:06.24 that we have an advocate 00:12:06.27\00:12:07.62 who is standing before the judge and they both on our side, 00:12:07.65\00:12:10.89 we will take that baton 00:12:10.92\00:12:13.06 and we will just bang it on ourselves over the head. 00:12:13.09\00:12:15.01 There is self-condemnation, 00:12:15.04\00:12:16.43 whereas the Bible says in Romans 8:1, 00:12:16.46\00:12:18.84 "If you are in Christ, 00:12:18.87\00:12:20.39 therefore there is no condemnation 00:12:20.42\00:12:22.65 for those who are in Christ Jesus." 00:12:22.68\00:12:24.05 Right. 00:12:24.08\00:12:25.11 Later in that chapter which is of course 00:12:25.14\00:12:26.98 one of Christianity's favorite chapters, 00:12:27.01\00:12:29.03 Romans 8, later on it talks, 00:12:29.06\00:12:30.75 it bring us into the Sanctuary on this very matter 00:12:30.78\00:12:34.67 that you are talking about condemnation, 00:12:34.70\00:12:36.71 who is he that would dare condemn us, 00:12:36.74\00:12:38.87 God is the one who justifies. 00:12:38.90\00:12:41.65 And Jesus is the one who intercedes for us. 00:12:41.68\00:12:46.41 So right there in Romans chapter 8, 00:12:46.44\00:12:50.51 whatever we are feeling condemned about, 00:12:50.54\00:12:53.91 God says you may feel that way, 00:12:53.94\00:12:55.62 but it's not reality in Christ, 00:12:55.65\00:12:58.23 if you have come apart from the world 00:12:58.26\00:13:02.64 and its foolishness and you've turned around 00:13:02.67\00:13:04.97 and you've repented and you've come to me through Jesus. 00:13:05.00\00:13:09.71 And the throne of grace that Hebrew chapter 4 talks about 00:13:09.74\00:13:13.78 that you read about is actually of course 00:13:13.81\00:13:15.90 in the Old Testament like the mercy seat. 00:13:15.93\00:13:17.95 Right, Amen. 00:13:17.98\00:13:19.29 And, yes, the law is there. 00:13:19.32\00:13:21.61 God is a just God. 00:13:21.64\00:13:23.45 But the slab of Gold, 00:13:23.48\00:13:25.08 there is mercy with the angels looking over the mercy seat 00:13:25.11\00:13:31.64 that's how we relay with God through his mercy. 00:13:31.67\00:13:36.46 None of us is good enough to relay to Him 00:13:36.49\00:13:40.31 on the basis of how well we are keeping the law. 00:13:40.34\00:13:43.74 You know, in Lamentations 3:22-23, 00:13:43.77\00:13:46.55 I believe, where it says that, 00:13:46.58\00:13:48.98 "His mercies are new every morning, 00:13:49.01\00:13:51.30 His compassions fail not," 00:13:51.33\00:13:53.41 and we think about this and that is God wants to forgive us 00:13:53.44\00:13:59.29 if we would just turn 1 John 1:9, 00:13:59.32\00:14:03.39 says that he is faithful and just if we will confess our sin 00:14:03.42\00:14:08.46 he will not only forgive us our sin, 00:14:08.49\00:14:10.94 but cleans us of all our righteousness. 00:14:10.97\00:14:14.51 And, you know, when you said earlier 00:14:14.54\00:14:15.77 that some people believe that there is a predisposition 00:14:15.80\00:14:19.69 that you are predestined either, 00:14:19.72\00:14:22.90 you know, you saved your knot distance, 00:14:22.93\00:14:26.02 the Bible says that God wants all men to repent into the same. 00:14:26.05\00:14:30.08 That's His heart. 00:14:30.11\00:14:31.88 The only predestination is that 00:14:31.91\00:14:34.05 I can really say for sure is Romans 8:29 that 00:14:34.08\00:14:38.35 "Those who He foreknew that would come to Christ," 00:14:38.38\00:14:41.19 based on what Romans 8:28 says that we are in Christ, 00:14:41.22\00:14:44.52 He predestined us to be conformed 00:14:44.55\00:14:46.45 to the image of His Son. 00:14:46.48\00:14:48.10 So that's our destiny. 00:14:48.13\00:14:49.81 That's our pre-destiny, is to be conformed to His image. 00:14:49.84\00:14:53.59 God has put us in Christ, without our request, 00:14:53.62\00:14:56.77 without our permission before we even existed physically 00:14:56.80\00:15:00.78 God put us in Christ. 00:15:00.81\00:15:03.37 When Jesus died, we died. 00:15:03.40\00:15:05.37 When He rose. We rose. 00:15:05.40\00:15:08.31 And when He was as a high priest installed 00:15:08.34\00:15:13.27 as in this ministry in the sanctuary that was for us. 00:15:13.30\00:15:16.94 And so now, we have a choice to make 00:15:16.97\00:15:19.15 He is called the second Adam. 00:15:19.18\00:15:21.43 The first Adam wrecked at the tree in the Garden of Eden. 00:15:21.46\00:15:25.32 And that's not fair. 00:15:25.35\00:15:26.38 Somebody says it is not fair for what Adam did. 00:15:26.41\00:15:28.35 Because of what Adam did, 00:15:28.38\00:15:29.47 you know, there is death there. 00:15:29.50\00:15:30.68 It's true it's not fair. 00:15:30.71\00:15:31.74 That's why God gave us a second Adam, Jesus Christ. 00:15:31.77\00:15:34.96 So now we have a choice to make. 00:15:34.99\00:15:36.75 We can identify ourselves with either fall in Adam 00:15:36.78\00:15:40.23 and his follies by doing what comes naturally doing 00:15:40.26\00:15:43.96 what we feel like doing, 00:15:43.99\00:15:45.67 doing what the world tells us to do, 00:15:45.70\00:15:48.02 or we can identify with the second Adam Jesus Christ 00:15:48.05\00:15:52.89 and find a whole new history in what He did 00:15:52.92\00:15:57.09 and His perfect works become our history. 00:15:57.12\00:16:00.72 Now, you confused me just a little bit 00:16:00.75\00:16:02.60 because there is a choice for us to be in Christ 00:16:02.63\00:16:05.40 when 1 Corinthians 1:13 says, 00:16:05.43\00:16:07.16 it's because of God that we are in Christ, 00:16:07.19\00:16:09.14 but we agreed that the choice says 00:16:09.17\00:16:11.39 we have to born again to be in him. 00:16:11.42\00:16:14.22 Okay. I just want a clarify that one point. 00:16:14.25\00:16:16.47 Yeah, to get a little deeper, 00:16:16.50\00:16:17.86 164 times in the New Testament there is a Christ motif 00:16:17.89\00:16:24.68 and God has created a whole new humanity in Christ. 00:16:24.71\00:16:30.03 We are new creations in Christ Jesus. 00:16:30.06\00:16:32.53 The old has gone and the new has come. 00:16:32.56\00:16:33.82 That's right. And historically, 2000 years ago, 00:16:33.85\00:16:36.86 there was a whole new human race 00:16:36.89\00:16:39.11 created through the resurrection of Jesus Christ 00:16:39.14\00:16:43.26 called the Church, 00:16:43.29\00:16:44.80 and Jesus briefed his spirit upon this whole new humanity 00:16:44.83\00:16:48.80 and when we repent 00:16:48.83\00:16:50.19 and come to Christ we are included in this new humanity, 00:16:50.22\00:16:56.00 we are included in Christ. Amen. 00:16:56.03\00:16:58.37 And so in a sense 00:16:58.40\00:17:01.89 we were in the Garden of Eden when he send, 00:17:01.92\00:17:06.37 Adam send the first Adam and in a very real sense 00:17:06.40\00:17:09.69 we were also in Christ 00:17:09.72\00:17:12.04 when he died on the Cross and rose again. 00:17:12.07\00:17:14.80 And now we have our choice to make. 00:17:14.83\00:17:17.14 Do I wish to be an Adam? 00:17:17.17\00:17:18.53 Do I wish to be in Christ? 00:17:18.56\00:17:20.01 And by that identification 00:17:20.04\00:17:21.94 that's our eternal salvation or loss. 00:17:21.97\00:17:24.55 And, you know, there is Revelation 12:11 says that, 00:17:24.58\00:17:28.28 "We overcome by the blood of the Lamb 00:17:28.31\00:17:30.47 and the word of our Testament," 00:17:30.50\00:17:32.37 and that's something that I think its so important 00:17:32.40\00:17:35.08 we were discussing this before the program 00:17:35.11\00:17:37.66 knowing your identity in Christ 00:17:37.69\00:17:39.71 and confessing who you are in Christ 00:17:39.74\00:17:43.44 because if the Bible tells us in Romans 10:17, 00:17:43.47\00:17:49.50 it says, faith comes by hearing 00:17:49.53\00:17:51.18 and hearing by the word of Christ. 00:17:51.21\00:17:53.22 And I think it's Romans 10:10 that talks about, 00:17:53.25\00:17:55.96 it's with your heart that you believe 00:17:55.99\00:17:57.70 but with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 00:17:57.73\00:18:01.00 So this is something that's our part of thing 00:18:01.03\00:18:03.95 that's our sanctuary when you talk about 00:18:03.98\00:18:05.63 overcoming the blood of Lamb and the word of our Testament. 00:18:05.66\00:18:08.47 Yes. 00:18:08.50\00:18:09.53 And the context there is 00:18:09.56\00:18:10.84 specifically overcoming the accusations of Satan. Amen. 00:18:10.87\00:18:14.80 He is accusing us and God has to be fair just like with, 00:18:14.83\00:18:18.82 you caught me at WalMart back there at Satan right. 00:18:18.85\00:18:21.81 And so the Judge has to be fair 00:18:21.84\00:18:25.65 and if you got evidence against me, 00:18:25.68\00:18:28.77 I need to have evidence to vindicate 00:18:28.80\00:18:31.52 in my evidence is in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ 00:18:31.55\00:18:35.31 and that's where the cross comes in because God, 00:18:35.34\00:18:37.63 a holy and just God, finds through the cross the evidence, 00:18:37.66\00:18:42.66 the blood of Jesus, we are vindicated 00:18:42.69\00:18:45.10 through the blood of Jesus 00:18:45.13\00:18:46.83 and whom we trust so, there at the cross, 00:18:46.86\00:18:50.21 we find the evidence, we find our salvation 00:18:50.24\00:18:54.67 and God says yes that is your evidence. 00:18:54.70\00:18:57.27 So a holy God can relate to sinners 00:18:57.30\00:19:00.51 through the blood of the cross. 00:19:00.54\00:19:03.91 Now we are talking about, 00:19:03.94\00:19:06.04 we need to bring this back in 00:19:06.07\00:19:07.40 and hide into how this helps children's to know things 00:19:07.43\00:19:11.42 and keeps them in the church. 00:19:11.45\00:19:13.04 You know, God is one who is very open and transparent. 00:19:13.07\00:19:18.85 He says comes let us reason together. 00:19:18.88\00:19:20.99 I want to have this communication with you, 00:19:21.02\00:19:22.97 which is what you are saying that parents need to, 00:19:23.00\00:19:25.74 it can't be God doesn't force us to act. 00:19:25.77\00:19:28.93 Nor can we force our children to act. 00:19:28.96\00:19:30.96 We have to train them up, give them principles, 00:19:30.99\00:19:34.08 but we have to recognize 00:19:34.11\00:19:36.44 that we do have to as they grow and mature. 00:19:36.47\00:19:40.41 They have to learn how to make some decisions on their own. 00:19:40.44\00:19:43.70 But how does this in your research? 00:19:43.73\00:19:46.93 What was it about understanding the sanctuary system? 00:19:46.96\00:19:51.43 And this relationship with God, 00:19:51.46\00:19:54.18 how is that helped keep the children in the church? 00:19:54.21\00:19:57.42 On the specific thing of dialogue, 00:19:57.45\00:20:01.40 the dialogue and we are processing problems 00:20:01.43\00:20:05.11 and discussing problems 00:20:05.14\00:20:06.92 this is what's going on in the sanctuary. 00:20:06.95\00:20:08.77 The Bible talks about in the New Testament, 00:20:08.80\00:20:12.45 well first of all, a lot of Christians 00:20:12.48\00:20:16.03 are looking to Jerusalem 00:20:16.06\00:20:17.84 for rebuilding of a temple down there, you know. 00:20:17.87\00:20:21.74 But it says in the book of Hebrews don't look down there. 00:20:21.77\00:20:24.36 Look to heaven. 00:20:24.39\00:20:26.90 Yeah, we are just like a cook needs of kitchen 00:20:26.93\00:20:29.69 a priest needs a sanctuary 00:20:29.72\00:20:31.86 and Jesus our priests in heaven interceding for us 00:20:31.89\00:20:35.89 is in the sanctuary and there are two different phases 00:20:35.92\00:20:39.61 of this sanctuary work for us 00:20:39.64\00:20:42.38 there is the continual forgiving us, 00:20:42.41\00:20:46.31 confession there is the that going on, 00:20:46.34\00:20:49.10 but there is also judgment phase 00:20:49.13\00:20:51.97 where by God opens the books for the celestial universe 00:20:52.00\00:20:57.52 for the angels to see how he has been fair 00:20:57.55\00:21:02.33 and relating to people throughout history, 00:21:02.36\00:21:05.72 and He wouldn't have to do that 00:21:05.75\00:21:07.32 because He is God, He could say well, hey. 00:21:07.35\00:21:09.82 Just because I said so. 00:21:09.85\00:21:10.88 Yeah, exactly, but instead He does say, 00:21:10.91\00:21:14.18 "Let us reason together," 00:21:14.21\00:21:15.69 and Romans 3:3 talks about how God Himself, 00:21:15.72\00:21:22.08 allows Himself to be vindicated 00:21:22.11\00:21:24.51 and He overcomes when He is judged. 00:21:24.54\00:21:27.78 That almost seems blasphemous to think 00:21:27.81\00:21:31.26 that God being judged will actually, 00:21:31.29\00:21:34.92 God does allow Himself to be ordered 00:21:34.95\00:21:38.72 by His celestial universe. 00:21:38.75\00:21:42.08 He opens the book and says I have nothing to hide 00:21:42.11\00:21:45.80 just like a CEO of some corporation 00:21:45.83\00:21:49.14 who might be accused of some fraud. 00:21:49.17\00:21:53.46 He says, "Look, I have nothing to hide. 00:21:53.49\00:21:54.97 Open the books look over my shoulder, 00:21:55.00\00:21:56.83 see what I have done, see what I have got here." 00:21:56.86\00:21:59.29 And then the company, they can look and say, 00:21:59.32\00:22:02.62 "Well, hey, yeah, you have been fair and justice 00:22:02.65\00:22:04.99 this is the type of thing that's going on right now 00:22:05.02\00:22:09.42 just before Jesus comes in the sanctuary," 00:22:09.45\00:22:12.23 whereby the devil who accuses not just us and, 00:22:12.26\00:22:15.90 you know, ultimately it's not us that he is getting it. 00:22:15.93\00:22:19.19 It's--He is trying to get a God. That's right. 00:22:19.22\00:22:22.40 You know, we are just peons, 00:22:22.43\00:22:23.79 you know, come along and live a few days and die. 00:22:23.82\00:22:26.90 He is trying to prove God's system is wrong, 00:22:26.93\00:22:29.21 which is what he has been trying to prove 00:22:29.24\00:22:30.77 from the very beginning. Exactly. 00:22:30.80\00:22:33.65 God is like the chair of the parole board, okay? 00:22:33.68\00:22:36.90 Okay. 00:22:36.93\00:22:37.96 Now here in Illinois, if the chair of the parole board, 00:22:37.99\00:22:43.80 or the governor whoever pardon in this day, 00:22:43.83\00:22:46.49 let somebody who deserves to die paroles him turns him lose, 00:22:46.52\00:22:51.77 well, it's not just a question 00:22:51.80\00:22:53.07 why is that guy running around lose, 00:22:53.10\00:22:54.63 but who in the world-- Did it. 00:22:54.66\00:22:56.50 Yeah. Parole is such a person. 00:22:56.53\00:22:59.20 So here we are running around free of condemnation. 00:22:59.23\00:23:04.33 Now the Devil says, 00:23:04.36\00:23:06.55 "Mind whoever deserves to be condemned." 00:23:06.58\00:23:09.05 But God, the Father, paroled me in the sanctuary 00:23:09.08\00:23:11.90 so here I am running around free in the Lord, 00:23:11.93\00:23:14.53 rejoicing and the devil says, 00:23:14.56\00:23:16.21 "Hey, not only why is he running around 00:23:16.24\00:23:18.93 but how could you God set him free, 00:23:18.96\00:23:22.22 how could you paroled him from guilt and condemnation! 00:23:22.25\00:23:25.45 And so it's in the Sanctuary that God shows this man 00:23:25.48\00:23:30.87 is trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. 00:23:30.90\00:23:33.82 Yes, He is got false and such, 00:23:33.85\00:23:37.18 but when you come down to that this man 00:23:37.21\00:23:39.47 is a believer and you are believer. 00:23:39.50\00:23:42.34 In my church, by definition, 00:23:42.37\00:23:44.03 they are the part of the body of Christ. 00:23:44.06\00:23:45.45 They are believing in Christ. 00:23:45.48\00:23:47.65 So therefore they have a right to be free. 00:23:47.68\00:23:52.38 God stands up and he defends our freedom. 00:23:52.41\00:23:55.50 "Whom the son has set free is free indeed." 00:23:55.53\00:23:57.37 Yes. Amen. 00:23:57.40\00:23:58.98 Now, you know, I'm thinking about the love of God. 00:23:59.01\00:24:03.91 Romans 5:8 is one of my favorite scriptures 00:24:03.94\00:24:07.10 that says that this is the way 00:24:07.13\00:24:09.21 God manifested His love for us 00:24:09.24\00:24:11.54 that He sent His son to die for us 00:24:11.57\00:24:14.56 while we were yet sinners. 00:24:14.59\00:24:16.87 Is this the idea in your research, 00:24:16.90\00:24:20.25 how if children understand this plan, 00:24:20.28\00:24:26.65 and understand that God is not that-- 00:24:26.68\00:24:30.60 let me put it this way that God is the perfect Father, 00:24:30.63\00:24:33.99 the giver of every good and perfect gift 00:24:34.02\00:24:36.21 and that He is not one up there as judge looking 00:24:36.24\00:24:39.27 and saying I'm going to get you, get you, 00:24:39.30\00:24:41.23 ah, you did this wrong. 00:24:41.26\00:24:42.35 I'm going to get you, 00:24:42.38\00:24:43.50 but rather He is up there working with Christ, 00:24:43.53\00:24:47.38 the son as our advocate trying to say, 00:24:47.41\00:24:50.82 you know, come confess to me, 00:24:50.85\00:24:52.49 I'm going to send my Holy Spirit. 00:24:52.52\00:24:53.68 I am wooing you with my love. 00:24:53.71\00:24:55.53 Confess to me and I'll forgive your sins. 00:24:55.56\00:24:58.86 I'll pardon you and I'm going to protect you 00:24:58.89\00:25:01.67 from your adversary, the devil. 00:25:01.70\00:25:03.82 Is this idea? 00:25:03.85\00:25:06.54 Is this what gives children the cement they need to stay? 00:25:06.57\00:25:11.27 Yeah, the hope to carry on. Absolutely. 00:25:11.30\00:25:13.19 Hope, that's the word I was looking for. 00:25:13.22\00:25:15.12 And, you know, there is one more dimension to this 00:25:15.15\00:25:17.38 and the little time we have left, 00:25:17.41\00:25:20.16 the sanctuary also tells me not only, 00:25:20.19\00:25:23.28 is God not condemning me, 00:25:23.31\00:25:24.60 but I should not condemn myself. 00:25:24.63\00:25:26.80 Don't take that baton, right. 00:25:26.83\00:25:28.05 Yeah, yeah. 00:25:28.08\00:25:29.52 You know, often I would hear as a pastor or chaplain. 00:25:29.55\00:25:33.42 Well, look what I did. 00:25:33.45\00:25:35.50 I can't forgive myself. 00:25:35.53\00:25:37.76 And I would try to gently ask them, 00:25:37.79\00:25:41.33 "Well, do you think you are God? 00:25:41.36\00:25:42.85 You know, what makes you think 00:25:42.88\00:25:44.34 that you have the right to 00:25:44.37\00:25:46.08 either forgive yourself or condemn yourself?" 00:25:46.11\00:25:48.33 You know, we don't have that right. 00:25:48.36\00:25:49.94 We are not the judge of ourselves. 00:25:49.97\00:25:53.84 God is the Judge and He says, 00:25:53.87\00:25:55.86 I am in the forgiveness business. 00:25:55.89\00:25:58.64 So who are you or who am I to, 00:25:58.67\00:26:00.53 you know, think what I need to decide. 00:26:00.56\00:26:02.28 I'm smarter than God. 00:26:02.31\00:26:04.24 He forgave me, but I won't forgive myself. 00:26:04.27\00:26:06.98 And the sanctuary also tells me 00:26:07.01\00:26:09.26 that I have no right to condemn myself 00:26:09.29\00:26:12.34 and I have no right to let other people condemn me, 00:26:12.37\00:26:16.17 like suffer guilt trips that other people 00:26:16.20\00:26:17.96 might try to force upon me, 00:26:17.99\00:26:19.46 whether they are the Church members 00:26:19.49\00:26:21.00 or people out there in the world, 00:26:21.03\00:26:23.09 if God has accepted me 00:26:23.12\00:26:25.12 and He is the only one that accounts there, 00:26:25.15\00:26:27.22 He is the judge, if He says you are in, 00:26:27.25\00:26:30.42 I have no right to question that, nor does anybody else. 00:26:30.45\00:26:34.00 Praise God. 00:26:34.03\00:26:35.06 You know, I think one of the greatest lessons 00:26:35.09\00:26:37.48 of the sanctuary is that the typical day atonement, 00:26:37.51\00:26:41.00 which we are looking for a typical day of epitome 00:26:41.03\00:26:45.00 is that is the judgment was in favor 00:26:45.03\00:26:50.63 of the people of God, hallelujah. 00:26:50.66\00:26:52.61 Yes, judgment in favor, that's right. 00:26:52.64\00:26:54.73 So that's why you can have like to name Daniel, God is my judge. 00:26:54.76\00:26:58.29 It means God is my vindicator. 00:26:58.32\00:26:59.94 God's on my side. 00:26:59.97\00:27:01.21 Amen. Amen. 00:27:01.24\00:27:02.45 Martin this has been just fascinating. 00:27:02.48\00:27:04.97 I love this, and I want to thank you so much for returning again 00:27:05.00\00:27:09.00 and I think that, you've really, 00:27:09.03\00:27:11.40 your research is going to make a difference in the church. 00:27:11.43\00:27:14.26 Thank you. 00:27:14.29\00:27:15.34 We are so pleased to have you. 00:27:15.37\00:27:16.88 I hope that you have benefited from this 00:27:16.91\00:27:19.53 and enjoyed this wonderful study 00:27:19.56\00:27:21.32 and that this will just kind of hitting the very top of this. 00:27:21.35\00:27:27.79 I hope that you go and do some study 00:27:27.82\00:27:29.63 on your own for the sanctuary 00:27:29.66\00:27:31.26 and all the beautiful lessons that of the Gospel 00:27:31.29\00:27:35.68 that are in the sanctuary service. 00:27:35.71\00:27:37.99 And for now, we pray that you and your family 00:27:38.02\00:27:41.18 that the love of our Lord Jesus Christ 00:27:41.21\00:27:43.69 and the grace of Him and the love of the Father 00:27:43.72\00:27:47.58 and fellowship of the Holy Spirit 00:27:47.61\00:27:49.56 will be with you today and for everyday 00:27:49.59\00:27:52.43 throughout eternity.
