Hello, I'm Shelley Quinn 00:00:31.55\00:00:32.81 and welcome again to "Issues and Answers." 00:00:32.84\00:00:35.83 Today, we are going to be talking about 00:00:35.86\00:00:38.18 some Jewish traditions 00:00:38.21\00:00:40.01 and looking at the spiritual analogy of these traditions. 00:00:40.04\00:00:44.90 You know, we've really been enjoying 00:00:44.93\00:00:47.31 a number of programs with Jeff Zaremsky. 00:00:47.34\00:00:50.06 Jeff, I just want to thank you for coming back again. 00:00:50.09\00:00:53.57 Now you are the president of Jewish Heritage. Right. 00:00:53.60\00:00:59.35 And that's www.jewishheritage.net. 00:00:59.38\00:01:03.32 .net. Okay. 00:01:03.35\00:01:04.86 And you're also a pastor, 00:01:04.89\00:01:09.08 rabbi teacher for the Beth-El Shalom Church 00:01:09.11\00:01:13.94 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Right. 00:01:13.97\00:01:16.72 And we're just so excited 00:01:16.75\00:01:17.78 that you've come back again. All right. 00:01:17.81\00:01:20.50 Jeff, you know what I want to do, 00:01:20.53\00:01:21.65 I want to share scripture with our viewers. 00:01:21.68\00:01:23.67 And I know you know this one, it's one of my favorites 00:01:23.70\00:01:26.69 and I think it goes along with our program today. 00:01:26.72\00:01:28.96 It's Isaiah 61:10. 00:01:28.99\00:01:31.79 Isaiah writes, "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. 00:01:31.82\00:01:35.66 My soul will exalt in my God 00:01:35.69\00:01:37.87 for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. 00:01:37.90\00:01:42.03 He has covered me 00:01:42.06\00:01:43.34 with the robe of righteousness." You know what? 00:01:43.37\00:01:45.93 Salvation has always, 00:01:45.96\00:01:48.60 always been by grace through faith. 00:01:48.63\00:01:51.21 And this Isaiah proves it, doesn't he? 00:01:51.24\00:01:53.23 That's right. That's right. 00:01:53.26\00:01:54.29 It's right there throughout the scriptures. Yes. 00:01:54.32\00:01:56.72 Now we've been talking with you in some past programs 00:01:56.75\00:02:00.05 about various ways to reach Jewish people for Jesus. 00:02:00.08\00:02:05.23 And we've been talking about a lot of interesting things 00:02:05.26\00:02:08.65 that have to do with Jewish customs, Jewish culture, 00:02:08.68\00:02:12.97 not only that but with the Bible, you know. 00:02:13.00\00:02:15.92 Now today we're really going to just kind of step back 00:02:15.95\00:02:19.81 and talk about some extra biblical things. 00:02:19.84\00:02:21.53 That's right. This is outside the Bible. 00:02:21.56\00:02:23.12 Outside the Bible. It's Jewish tradition. 00:02:23.15\00:02:24.45 But we see it ties in with the Bible. 00:02:24.48\00:02:26.01 We see that it has Bible principles in it, 00:02:26.04\00:02:28.25 but, yeah, the things themselves are traditions. 00:02:28.28\00:02:31.38 And you know there's a great-- 00:02:31.41\00:02:33.01 Have you noticed that there's 00:02:33.04\00:02:34.78 this great awakening 00:02:34.81\00:02:35.91 that people are really interested 00:02:35.94\00:02:37.60 in the Jewish roots of Christianity? 00:02:37.63\00:02:39.29 Yeah, that's right. 00:02:39.32\00:02:40.35 Now we have to be careful, 00:02:40.38\00:02:41.51 because we're not trying to by any means suggest that 00:02:41.54\00:02:46.10 we have to go back to all the ways of the Jews 00:02:46.13\00:02:48.59 and that's required or that keeping all the feasts 00:02:48.62\00:02:51.18 which we discussed last time. 00:02:51.21\00:02:52.48 It's impossible to do in first place, 00:02:52.51\00:02:54.30 but that this is required. 00:02:54.33\00:02:56.19 We're just looking into these things 00:02:56.22\00:02:58.25 because there is a-- 00:02:58.28\00:03:00.82 it's an avenue to spiritual enrichment 00:03:00.85\00:03:03.39 as we grow in knowledge. That's right. 00:03:03.42\00:03:06.03 So let's start with some of these traditions. Right. 00:03:06.06\00:03:09.16 And some of the ones we will be looking at now, 00:03:09.19\00:03:10.53 if not all of them were ones that Jesus grew up with. Okay. 00:03:10.56\00:03:15.47 Now again just because Jesus did them, 00:03:15.50\00:03:17.19 it doesn't mean that we have to do them, 00:03:17.22\00:03:18.72 because again they're outside the Bible. 00:03:18.75\00:03:20.32 But they were the traditions of His day, 00:03:20.35\00:03:22.05 He grew up Jewish. 00:03:22.08\00:03:23.11 And so it's interesting to know as we look at these things 00:03:23.14\00:03:26.36 of what the setting was that He grew up with. Yes. 00:03:26.39\00:03:29.51 And it does then help us to understand Him a little better 00:03:29.54\00:03:32.03 and understand the spiritual lessons 00:03:32.06\00:03:34.81 that we can learn that apply to our lives today. 00:03:34.84\00:03:37.04 And so that's what we're doing again, 00:03:37.07\00:03:39.02 so we want to make that clear 00:03:39.05\00:03:40.33 for our whole audience here that we're not judaizing the church. 00:03:40.36\00:03:44.46 We're just educating and learning 00:03:44.49\00:03:45.84 and learning from this culture of the Jewish 00:03:45.87\00:03:48.75 that Jesus grew up under. 00:03:48.78\00:03:49.99 Okay. All right. 00:03:50.02\00:03:51.05 So why don't we look at one of the first things 00:03:51.08\00:03:52.88 that we can talk about is Simchat Torah. 00:03:52.91\00:03:55.08 Simchat Torah. 00:03:55.11\00:03:56.61 And that's S-i-m-c-h-a-. Right. 00:03:56.64\00:03:59.34 Ch, if you're not, 'cause it's in Hebrew letters, 00:03:59.37\00:04:01.19 so the Ch is not a sound that we have in English, 00:04:01.22\00:04:03.56 it's the guttural German Kha sound like, in l'chaim. 00:04:03.59\00:04:08.44 Have you ever seen Fiddler on the Roof? 00:04:08.47\00:04:10.63 L'chaim, good. If you hadn't seen it. 00:04:10.66\00:04:12.49 Well, if you hadn't seen it, shame on you. 00:04:12.52\00:04:13.89 You need to watch Fiddler on the Roof 00:04:13.92\00:04:15.00 'cause it's on there-- Actually, I haven't seen it-- 00:04:15.03\00:04:16.95 Yeah, you need to watch it. 00:04:16.98\00:04:18.05 It's a great movie. It was applied with. 00:04:18.08\00:04:22.21 In it there was a song To Life, L'chaim. 00:04:22.24\00:04:25.22 I mean it's the same guttural sound. 00:04:25.25\00:04:27.06 Like in Hanukah or in Christmas, 00:04:27.09\00:04:29.64 you know, same Ch guttural sounds that Kha sound. 00:04:29.67\00:04:33.47 So Simchat Torah. 00:04:33.50\00:04:35.52 And Simchat is the word means celebration. 00:04:35.55\00:04:38.37 And so Simchat Torah is the celebration of the Torah. 00:04:38.40\00:04:41.93 Celebrating the Bible. Celebrating the Bible. 00:04:41.96\00:04:44.02 Celebrating God's word. 00:04:44.05\00:04:45.60 So that like-- 00:04:45.63\00:04:46.66 I have a program called exalting His voice, 00:04:46.69\00:04:48.33 so it's same thing. Exactly. 00:04:48.36\00:04:49.78 That's right, that's right. 00:04:49.81\00:04:50.84 And so on a yearly basis, 00:04:50.87\00:04:52.61 well, every week in the Jewish calendar, 00:04:52.64\00:04:55.29 every week the Torah is read through in portions. 00:04:55.32\00:05:00.36 And at the end of the year, the Torah is finished. 00:05:00.39\00:05:03.40 It started in Genesis 1 Bereishit, in the beginning. 00:05:03.43\00:05:06.36 In the beginning God created. 00:05:06.39\00:05:07.64 And it comes all the way around and we finished reading Torah 00:05:07.67\00:05:10.31 on the last day on Simchat Torah. 00:05:10.34\00:05:12.42 We celebrate the Torah. We march it around. 00:05:12.45\00:05:14.93 We rejoice in God's word. 00:05:14.96\00:05:16.55 And then we start all over again. 00:05:16.58\00:05:17.89 Huh, that's interesting. That's right. 00:05:17.92\00:05:19.26 So it's kind of-- 00:05:19.29\00:05:20.32 That would be an interesting thing to do at our home, 00:05:20.35\00:05:23.21 you know, with your children 00:05:23.24\00:05:24.38 and to, not gonna have to have children to do it, 00:05:24.41\00:05:27.08 but to read the Bible through every year 00:05:27.11\00:05:30.66 and as part of your personal devotions everyday 00:05:30.69\00:05:33.42 and then to celebrate the sanctity of this word. 00:05:33.45\00:05:36.11 We have the Bible story books, the blue covered by Maxwell. 00:05:36.14\00:05:40.45 We had the full 10 set volume and we read through that 00:05:40.48\00:05:42.65 with our daughter of our worship. 00:05:42.68\00:05:44.69 We read through that at least three or four times. 00:05:44.72\00:05:46.45 And every time we finish we read it again 00:05:46.48\00:05:48.26 and that's what we should do with our Bible 00:05:48.29\00:05:50.26 and that's the point I want to get at. 00:05:50.29\00:05:51.98 That we have this already Simchat Torah 00:05:52.01\00:05:53.48 and it's just a good reminder for us as Christians as, 00:05:53.51\00:05:56.97 you know, revere to believe us in the word of God, 00:05:57.00\00:05:59.66 to stay in the word of God. Amen. 00:05:59.69\00:06:01.82 It should never be, I read the Bible. Amen. 00:06:01.85\00:06:04.73 I have read it and I am continuing to read it. 00:06:04.76\00:06:06.91 Amen. Right. 00:06:06.94\00:06:08.18 And until we do that on that yearly basis 00:06:08.21\00:06:10.36 and that's a good thing for us to do. That's beautiful. 00:06:10.39\00:06:12.28 And to then honor the word of God. 00:06:12.31\00:06:14.44 Have respect for it. 00:06:14.47\00:06:16.41 And that's one of things in Rabbinic Judaism 00:06:16.44\00:06:19.10 there's this respect for the Torah, 00:06:19.13\00:06:21.03 there's respect for the word of God. It's honored. 00:06:21.06\00:06:24.65 You know where I got the title for the book 00:06:24.68\00:06:27.27 I wrote Exalting His Word of Psalm 138:2 00:06:27.30\00:06:30.08 where it says that, "God exalts His name 00:06:30.11\00:06:32.90 and His word above all things and He magnifies His word it 00:06:32.93\00:06:36.91 and above His name. That's right. 00:06:36.94\00:06:38.34 So if this is the thing that God exalts the most 00:06:38.37\00:06:40.99 and this is something that we should exalt as well. 00:06:41.02\00:06:43.87 I had a person say to me just a few weeks ago. 00:06:43.90\00:06:48.41 Young man, he said, "You know that sometimes 00:06:48.44\00:06:50.76 the Bible can get in the way of hearing God." 00:06:50.79\00:06:55.86 That is dangerous. 00:06:55.89\00:06:56.92 That is dangerous. That's what I thought. 00:06:56.95\00:06:58.57 Because the Bible is a number one way 00:06:58.60\00:07:00.39 that God speaks to us. Right, exactly. 00:07:00.42\00:07:02.38 That He's just going by impressions 00:07:02.41\00:07:03.97 and feelings. All right. 00:07:04.00\00:07:06.56 The Bible is exalted and centered stage all the time. 00:07:06.59\00:07:10.45 Jesus, of course, being the whole, 00:07:10.48\00:07:12.05 He is the word and that's a wonderful thing too. 00:07:12.08\00:07:15.09 As we think of the Torah, 00:07:15.12\00:07:16.30 the Torahs are written on lamb skin. 00:07:16.33\00:07:18.58 Yeah. Oh. Yeah. 00:07:18.61\00:07:19.94 And He is the word. 00:07:19.97\00:07:21.18 And He is the word made flesh. 00:07:21.21\00:07:22.89 And so as we celebrate Him, He is the living word. 00:07:22.92\00:07:26.31 It is very powerful. 00:07:26.34\00:07:27.40 The whole analogy, the whole symbolism there. 00:07:27.43\00:07:31.30 And so again getting us back into the word, 00:07:31.33\00:07:32.86 remembering the word, reading the word on a yearly basis. 00:07:32.89\00:07:36.25 Simchat Torah. 00:07:36.28\00:07:37.39 Right, very good. Now you're getting it. 00:07:37.42\00:07:38.89 You'll know the Hebrew by the time we're done it. 00:07:38.92\00:07:41.90 And another one that's always asked is the Yamaka. Yes. 00:07:41.93\00:07:44.75 Because it's visual, it's seen. 00:07:44.78\00:07:47.29 And it's also called that's the Irish terms is Yamaka. 00:07:47.32\00:07:52.79 Irish is a German Hebrew mixture 00:07:52.82\00:07:55.15 that came out of when Jews were living, 00:07:55.18\00:07:57.51 well, still living in Europe, but added European Judaism. 00:07:57.54\00:08:00.86 Ah, but in Hebrew it's called the Kippah. 00:08:00.89\00:08:03.90 And Kippah is the same, 00:08:03.93\00:08:05.83 has the same root as in Yom Kippur. 00:08:05.86\00:08:08.99 Yom Kippur matches up at the Day of Atonement 00:08:09.02\00:08:12.06 that literally means day of covering. 00:08:12.09\00:08:14.24 And so it's this covering, 00:08:14.27\00:08:15.30 it's just reminder that God is covering us at all times. 00:08:15.33\00:08:18.58 You know that's so beautiful 00:08:18.61\00:08:19.66 because there are so many people 00:08:19.69\00:08:21.08 who are so fearful of Yom Kippur and the judgment of God. 00:08:21.11\00:08:24.53 But He judges in favor of us 00:08:24.56\00:08:27.22 because of the atonement that the mercy-- 00:08:27.25\00:08:29.30 the propitiation of Jesus 00:08:29.33\00:08:30.97 in applying blood to the mercy seat. 00:08:31.00\00:08:33.29 That's right. And praise the Lord. 00:08:33.32\00:08:34.97 That's right that His grace covers us. 00:08:35.00\00:08:36.41 His grace covers us. 00:08:36.44\00:08:37.69 And so that's a reminder there of His covering, 00:08:37.72\00:08:40.16 His love covering us, His grace covering us. 00:08:40.19\00:08:43.00 It is beautiful analogy 00:08:43.03\00:08:44.06 that we don't have to fear the judgment. Amen. 00:08:44.09\00:08:46.05 We don't have to fear Yom Kippur. 00:08:46.08\00:08:47.27 We don't have to fear the Day of Atonement. 00:08:47.30\00:08:49.40 Now do you wear your Kippah always? 00:08:49.43\00:08:51.37 I don't. Personally, I don't. Oh. 00:08:51.40\00:08:53.04 I wear it at services. 00:08:53.07\00:08:54.41 And I'm wearing it for the show today 00:08:54.44\00:08:55.47 'cause we're talking about these things. Yes. 00:08:55.50\00:08:57.36 But no I don't. It's not in the Bible. 00:08:57.39\00:09:00.61 Oh, I mean it does mention in the Bible. 00:09:00.64\00:09:03.23 And some people get confused with these when Paul says, 00:09:03.26\00:09:05.64 "A man should not have his head covered." 00:09:05.67\00:09:08.24 Now Peter says that Paul says a lot of things 00:09:08.27\00:09:11.24 that are hard to understand, 00:09:11.27\00:09:12.30 in 2 Peter 3, one of the last verses. 00:09:12.33\00:09:16.26 He says, my beloved Paul, my beloved brother Paul 00:09:16.29\00:09:18.86 says a lot of things that are hard to understand. 00:09:18.89\00:09:20.65 And many people have taken 00:09:20.68\00:09:21.83 and twisted for their own destruction. 00:09:21.86\00:09:23.83 If Paul was saying that men shouldn't have his head cover. 00:09:23.86\00:09:26.49 He's taking about hat. 00:09:26.52\00:09:28.12 You shouldn't have his head anything on his head, 00:09:28.15\00:09:30.42 if that's what Paul was saying 00:09:30.45\00:09:31.48 and I don't believe that's what exactly what Paul was meaning. 00:09:31.51\00:09:34.88 If he was saying that then that would put him 00:09:34.91\00:09:37.28 in the classification of the false prophet, 00:09:37.31\00:09:39.76 because he'd be disagreeing with what God told Aaron to do. 00:09:39.79\00:09:42.86 God specifically told Aaron to put something on your head. 00:09:42.89\00:09:45.45 Now wear a mightier on your head 00:09:45.48\00:09:46.94 and Holiness to the Lord. 00:09:46.97\00:09:48.39 So obviously Paul was talking about 00:09:48.42\00:09:49.82 something else other than a hat on his head. 00:09:49.85\00:09:53.30 Throughout the chapter he talks more about hair 00:09:53.33\00:09:54.81 and it seems to have to do with this hair 00:09:54.84\00:09:56.69 and how they were cutting their hair 00:09:56.72\00:09:57.82 and pagan may be believes of doing their hair 00:09:57.85\00:10:00.17 or something like that more. 00:10:00.20\00:10:02.69 So it's not against the Bible but we don't need to, it's not-- 00:10:02.72\00:10:05.97 that was for the Levitical. 00:10:06.00\00:10:08.10 And again it's just that symbolism of cover. 00:10:08.13\00:10:10.85 And it's just now a tradition. 00:10:10.88\00:10:12.30 Right. It's a tradition. 00:10:12.33\00:10:13.54 And traditions that replace the Bible are bad. 00:10:13.57\00:10:16.45 Traditions that are just traditions that help 00:10:16.48\00:10:18.50 magnify the Bible or bring us back to the Bible are good. 00:10:18.53\00:10:20.58 Okay. Right. 00:10:20.61\00:10:21.64 And there are plenty of Christian's traditions 00:10:21.67\00:10:22.93 that are good 00:10:22.96\00:10:23.99 and so again traditions in and out itself are okay. 00:10:24.02\00:10:27.48 Okay, Kiddush. Kiddush is another thing. 00:10:27.51\00:10:29.17 Kiddush is a blessing that we say-- 00:10:29.20\00:10:33.22 of over the Jews. 00:10:33.25\00:10:36.25 And in the blessing we say the blessing 00:10:36.28\00:10:38.27 (speaking in foreign language). 00:10:38.30\00:10:41.56 Blessed art thou, O Lord our God, 00:10:41.59\00:10:43.32 King of the Universe, 00:10:43.35\00:10:44.73 creator of the fruit of the vine. 00:10:44.76\00:10:47.77 And that's exactly what Jesus says 00:10:47.80\00:10:49.95 in the Passover, the last supper, 00:10:49.98\00:10:52.05 the Lord's Supper recorded in the Gospels. 00:10:52.08\00:10:54.21 So He's saying again the same thing 00:10:54.24\00:10:55.65 that's been said for thousands of years 00:10:55.68\00:10:57.79 dated back before Jesus. 00:10:57.82\00:10:59.48 And in the blessing itself, it says the fruit of the vine. 00:10:59.51\00:11:03.91 Now is that sound fresh 00:11:03.94\00:11:05.57 or is that sound like something has been sitting 00:11:05.60\00:11:07.09 in a vine seller for few years. 00:11:07.12\00:11:08.69 Oh, that's fresh. Fresh. 00:11:08.72\00:11:10.12 Right of the vine, fresh of the vine. 00:11:10.15\00:11:11.98 And so the symbolism there that the grape juice, 00:11:12.01\00:11:14.36 grape juice, it's fresh and it's there for us. 00:11:14.39\00:11:16.74 And this blessing is called Kiddush. Right. 00:11:16.77\00:11:19.33 Saying the Kiddush, saying the blessing upon it. 00:11:19.36\00:11:23.28 And-- And you use this-- 00:11:23.31\00:11:26.00 For a lot of different ceremonies, 00:11:26.03\00:11:27.48 at wedding we'll have the Kiddush, 00:11:27.51\00:11:29.74 we'll have the blessing, the husband and the wife 00:11:29.77\00:11:32.15 will both drink from the cup. 00:11:32.18\00:11:35.16 On Sabbath, they bring in the Sabbath 00:11:35.19\00:11:36.60 we'll have the Kiddush cup and the-- 00:11:36.63\00:11:39.67 And as well as the hallow bread. 00:11:39.70\00:11:41.73 And hallow bread is a-- 00:11:41.76\00:11:43.91 and that's again it's a tradition, 00:11:43.94\00:11:46.31 it's not in the Bible 00:11:46.34\00:11:47.57 but it's a traditional Sabbath bread. 00:11:47.60\00:11:49.65 This is the three twisted together. 00:11:49.68\00:11:51.23 Very good. That's right. 00:11:51.26\00:11:52.85 You see the symbolism there. That's right. 00:11:52.88\00:11:54.98 It's a powerful symbolism of this bread intertwine. 00:11:55.01\00:11:58.59 In Sabbaths we have two loafs, 00:11:58.62\00:11:59.83 remembering the two double portions 00:11:59.86\00:12:01.87 on Sabbath on Friday night-- 00:12:01.90\00:12:03.20 on Friday of the manna that God poured out 00:12:03.23\00:12:05.65 so again reminding us of the Sabbath, 00:12:05.68\00:12:06.90 reminding us of the Bible, 00:12:06.93\00:12:08.45 reminding us of the three in one there 00:12:08.48\00:12:10.76 breaded together, blended together. 00:12:10.79\00:12:12.26 In some ways other than it has leaven, 00:12:12.29\00:12:13.80 it's kind of mini communion partaking of the-- 00:12:13.83\00:12:16.37 he's the bread of the life. 00:12:16.40\00:12:17.62 So every Sabbath we have that special ceremony, 00:12:17.65\00:12:20.38 partaking of the word of God, the bread, 00:12:20.41\00:12:22.63 Jesus the bread of life, who was born in Beth Lechem. 00:12:22.66\00:12:26.84 The Hebrew word for bread is Lechem. 00:12:26.87\00:12:30.01 And so Beth Lechem means house 00:12:30.04\00:12:32.69 'cause Beth is house. 00:12:32.72\00:12:34.00 House of bread, the bread of life 00:12:34.03\00:12:38.09 was born in the house of bread. 00:12:38.12\00:12:40.01 How interesting, I've never heard that before. 00:12:40.04\00:12:41.90 Right, oh yeah. 00:12:41.93\00:12:43.21 And so He's that bread of life, 00:12:43.24\00:12:45.79 born in the baker's house, born in the house 00:12:45.82\00:12:47.65 where the bread is baked 00:12:47.68\00:12:49.23 that the bread, the living bread came forth. 00:12:49.26\00:12:51.53 "Man shall not live by bread alone, 00:12:51.56\00:12:52.98 but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." 00:12:53.01\00:12:56.27 That's right, that's right. 00:12:56.30\00:12:57.38 Yeah, and He said, "Eat of my flesh 00:12:57.41\00:12:58.85 and drink of my blood." 00:12:58.88\00:12:59.91 And so there again that Kiddush ceremony of the-- 00:12:59.94\00:13:03.17 with the hallow bread and the bread, right. 00:13:03.20\00:13:06.27 And so-- And that vine, 00:13:06.30\00:13:08.27 the vine again fresh juice of the wine, 00:13:08.30\00:13:10.51 juice, symbolism of his blood. Yes. 00:13:10.54\00:13:14.06 May this cup pass from me. 00:13:14.09\00:13:15.98 And you know, because it is a symbolism 00:13:16.01\00:13:17.84 of his bread and blood. 00:13:17.87\00:13:18.90 We know that it is not fermented 00:13:18.93\00:13:21.10 because it has to be the pure. 00:13:21.13\00:13:24.21 Absolutely. Yeah, it can't be dying. 00:13:24.24\00:13:26.38 You know He's the living. He's alive, right. 00:13:26.41\00:13:29.02 That whole fermented juice 00:13:29.05\00:13:32.35 destroys the whole symbolism of His blood and His salvation, 00:13:32.38\00:13:35.04 His purity, His righteousness without sin. 00:13:35.07\00:13:37.69 And so we reminded of that 00:13:37.72\00:13:39.17 again in Sabbath as we do that ceremony. 00:13:39.20\00:13:41.77 Bringing in the Sabbath that way, 00:13:41.80\00:13:43.15 reminded of His blood, reminded of His sacrifice, 00:13:43.18\00:13:45.30 reminded of the three in one, 00:13:45.33\00:13:46.81 and so it's just a beautiful little ceremony to do. 00:13:46.84\00:13:49.96 Now the end of Sabbath, 00:13:49.99\00:13:51.43 oh, there's also the Sabbath candles. 00:13:51.46\00:13:53.05 Lighting of the candles. He is the light of the world. 00:13:53.08\00:13:55.41 He brings light into our home and again the light of-- 00:13:55.44\00:13:59.35 He's the light of life and so His glory shines. 00:13:59.38\00:14:02.38 And you do that the lighting of candles Friday evening. 00:14:02.41\00:14:04.69 That's right. Okay. 00:14:04.72\00:14:05.75 Right. In the start of Sabbath. Okay. 00:14:05.78\00:14:07.87 And again these are just traditions 00:14:07.90\00:14:09.29 and they don't have to be done 00:14:09.32\00:14:10.91 but they do have some nice symbolism. 00:14:10.94\00:14:12.71 And lot-- I know a lot of Christians 00:14:12.74\00:14:14.76 who do this in the beginning of the Sabbath. 00:14:14.79\00:14:16.86 You know, to welcoming the Sabbath 00:14:16.89\00:14:18.21 and it's a nice to have these traditions. 00:14:18.24\00:14:21.15 It's good reminders. Yes. 00:14:21.18\00:14:22.40 And especially with the kids that help to train them 00:14:22.43\00:14:24.01 and it's that visual that helps them to see the living word. 00:14:24.04\00:14:27.16 And makes it enjoyable, 00:14:27.19\00:14:28.70 makes it something special and fun. 00:14:28.73\00:14:30.30 Right, right and tasteful. Yes. 00:14:30.33\00:14:32.52 So it tastes good. 00:14:32.55\00:14:33.80 You're drinking the juice, you're eating the bread 00:14:33.83\00:14:35.42 and you want to see the lights. 00:14:35.45\00:14:36.98 And at the end to the service we add the sense of smell. 00:14:37.01\00:14:39.94 At Havdalah service. 00:14:39.97\00:14:41.93 Havdalah means separation, 00:14:41.96\00:14:45.85 because God had separated the Holy from the secular, 00:14:45.88\00:14:50.27 the Sabbath from the rest of the week. Okay. 00:14:50.30\00:14:52.89 And so there is a ceremony that's ending the Sabbath. 00:14:52.92\00:14:57.39 Instead of wanting to just rush the Sabbath is over, 00:14:57.42\00:14:59.74 now I can do whatever I want, you know. 00:14:59.77\00:15:01.51 But to linger a little longer and enjoy it with the ceremony. 00:15:01.54\00:15:05.77 And in the Havdalah ceremony, there is a spice box. 00:15:05.80\00:15:10.07 They come in various shapes, forms which has spices, 00:15:10.10\00:15:13.96 when we say blessing over that, 00:15:13.99\00:15:15.73 thanking God for the various kinds of spices, 00:15:15.76\00:15:18.82 so you have the sense of smell. 00:15:18.85\00:15:20.42 And so we sniff that and it's kind of like-- 00:15:20.45\00:15:24.18 they say our sense smell is-- 00:15:24.21\00:15:26.83 we've the longest memory on sense of smell. 00:15:26.86\00:15:29.24 You smell something like, you know, grandma's cooking 00:15:29.27\00:15:31.20 and then years and years and years later 00:15:31.23\00:15:32.79 you smell that again, 00:15:32.82\00:15:33.89 your memory goes right back to it. 00:15:33.92\00:15:36.03 And so remembering of God's creation, 00:15:36.06\00:15:38.75 flowers that He created, 00:15:38.78\00:15:40.05 the ability to smell things that He is the blessing, 00:15:40.08\00:15:43.34 it's kind of like lingering, 00:15:43.37\00:15:44.48 that lingering smell that-- Aroma. 00:15:44.51\00:15:47.00 The aroma, just longing to keep the Sabbath, 00:15:47.03\00:15:49.72 to hold on to the Sabbath, did not want it to end. 00:15:49.75\00:15:52.85 And so we have that beauty of that-- 00:15:52.88\00:15:54.70 Christ, the aroma. 00:15:54.73\00:15:55.76 He is the aroma, He is-- that's right. 00:15:55.79\00:15:57.14 That sweet aroma, that's right, very good 00:15:57.17\00:15:59.94 that He's sacrifice for us, so we're smelling aroma. 00:15:59.97\00:16:02.85 Again you think of the sacrifices. 00:16:02.88\00:16:04.73 God calls that a sweet smelling aroma. Yes. 00:16:04.76\00:16:06.84 I doubt that the burning flesh 00:16:06.87\00:16:08.85 and the burning hair really was sweet smelling to the human 00:16:08.88\00:16:12.75 but the God-- because it represented Himself 00:16:12.78\00:16:15.43 dying for our sins. Amazing. 00:16:15.46\00:16:17.32 And making atonement for us, granting us forgiveness 00:16:17.35\00:16:20.24 and opening the way for us into heaven. 00:16:20.27\00:16:22.29 And that's the Havdalah. 00:16:22.32\00:16:24.18 Right, Havdalah. Say it again. 00:16:24.21\00:16:26.25 Havdalah. 00:16:26.28\00:16:27.31 Havdalah. Right. 00:16:27.34\00:16:28.59 And it's emphasis on the first syllable Havdalah. 00:16:28.62\00:16:31.91 Um, Havdalah. 00:16:31.94\00:16:34.16 I don't know whatever is there in that. 00:16:34.19\00:16:35.22 That's close, Havdalah, yeah, okay. 00:16:35.25\00:16:37.26 And then so we got the spices. 00:16:37.29\00:16:38.69 And then we also again have the juice. 00:16:38.72\00:16:41.77 And so we drink the juices, 00:16:41.80\00:16:43.26 he had the blessing on the juice, the same thing. 00:16:43.29\00:16:44.93 Then when we poured overflowing. 00:16:44.96\00:16:46.91 God's blessing, we had the Sabbath, 00:16:46.94\00:16:48.35 it's just been an overflowing time of God's blessings. 00:16:48.38\00:16:50.61 He's promised to bless the Sabbath 00:16:50.64\00:16:51.85 which we enter into, we receive His blessings. 00:16:51.88\00:16:54.31 And then we light a-- 00:16:54.34\00:16:55.70 And what are you doing overflowing, I miss that. 00:16:55.73\00:16:59.17 The juice, pour the juice in 00:16:59.20\00:17:00.55 and it's overflowing on the cup now. Okay. 00:17:00.58\00:17:02.94 Into other cup, 00:17:02.97\00:17:04.36 into like a basin or a cup under and so it overflows. 00:17:04.39\00:17:07.41 And then we take this Havdalah candle 00:17:07.44\00:17:09.90 which is a braided candle, not always three, 00:17:09.93\00:17:13.30 but it's a braided candle, 00:17:13.33\00:17:14.68 but again more than one braided together, 00:17:14.71\00:17:16.43 has to be at least more than one wick 00:17:16.46\00:17:18.57 and it's braided together like the challah bread, 00:17:18.60\00:17:20.78 twisted together, but it's one candle, 00:17:20.81\00:17:23.13 still one with several wicks. 00:17:23.16\00:17:25.50 One because it's braded as one, 00:17:25.53\00:17:27.08 it's soled in one box, it come together as one. 00:17:27.11\00:17:29.41 And it's lit and its bright light, 00:17:29.44\00:17:31.26 so all those wicks. 00:17:31.29\00:17:32.74 And again He is the light of the world 00:17:32.77\00:17:35.66 and the light of the Sabbath. 00:17:35.69\00:17:36.91 And then we take it and we extinguish it 00:17:36.94\00:17:40.17 out into the juice that overflowed 00:17:40.20\00:17:45.03 as the Sabbath is ending, 00:17:45.06\00:17:46.93 Sabbath light is being extinguished for the week 00:17:46.96\00:17:50.74 until we light it again at the end of next week, 00:17:50.77\00:17:53.80 yeah, the end of the week. 00:17:53.83\00:17:56.32 But also Jesus our light, the light of the world, 00:17:56.35\00:17:58.61 the three in one was extinguished 00:17:58.64\00:18:00.79 His blood were shed for us, He died in shedding His blood, 00:18:00.82\00:18:04.67 He's extinguished for us. 00:18:04.70\00:18:06.99 And He-- you know, 00:18:07.02\00:18:08.05 but then He has been resurrected and lives again. 00:18:08.08\00:18:10.17 And so we start it fresh and start it new 00:18:10.20\00:18:12.44 and so it's separating-- 00:18:12.47\00:18:13.99 I bet as you're explaining all of these traditions 00:18:14.02\00:18:16.76 to the Jewish person who's really never embraced the gospel 00:18:16.79\00:18:22.43 or never embraced Christ as Messiah. 00:18:22.46\00:18:25.17 It must be so amazing. 00:18:25.20\00:18:27.21 Oh, it's mind blowing, it's mind blowing 00:18:27.24\00:18:28.46 because otherwise it's just kind of the routine tradition 00:18:28.49\00:18:31.69 we just do it. 00:18:31.72\00:18:32.95 We don't know often I say now why. 00:18:32.98\00:18:34.13 When you look at it in light of the cross, 00:18:34.16\00:18:36.04 in light of the Bible, 00:18:36.07\00:18:37.10 in light of all that is there in the scriptures, 00:18:37.13\00:18:39.93 in light of-- especially in the light of the Jesus, 00:18:39.96\00:18:42.23 it's a very, very powerful as we see it. 00:18:42.26\00:18:45.03 Now at the end of Havdalah we sing a song 00:18:45.06\00:18:47.52 and the song is called Elijah the Prophet, 00:18:47.55\00:18:52.05 Eliyahu HaNavi. Eliyahu HaNavi. 00:18:52.08\00:18:56.08 Right, right. Elijah the Prophet. 00:18:56.11\00:18:57.95 And it says, "May Elijah come quickly 00:18:57.98\00:19:01.28 in our day with Mashiach ben David, 00:19:01.31\00:19:05.64 with Messiah the son of David." 00:19:05.67\00:19:07.87 This song goes way, way back and that's why the disciples 00:19:07.90\00:19:10.92 and everyone ask this to John the Baptist. 00:19:10.95\00:19:13.33 Are you Elijah? 00:19:13.36\00:19:15.28 So this song is sung at the Havdalah service-- 00:19:15.31\00:19:20.63 Havdalah service at the end of the Sabbath. Okay. 00:19:20.66\00:19:21.69 At the end of Sabbath service. 00:19:21.72\00:19:22.75 So still today and it dates back again thousands of years, 00:19:22.78\00:19:26.09 it's something that Jesus heard, 00:19:26.12\00:19:27.32 it's something that Peter heard, 00:19:27.35\00:19:28.45 Paul heard, they sung and did 00:19:28.48\00:19:30.91 and that's why again they all knew 00:19:30.94\00:19:33.09 that Elijah had to come before the Messiah, 00:19:33.12\00:19:36.10 Son of David. That's interesting. 00:19:36.13\00:19:38.30 And so it's always been there and of course, 00:19:38.33\00:19:40.81 Elijah did come, Jesus said, it was John, the Baptist, 00:19:40.84\00:19:44.02 the message of Elijah anyway and then he is the Messiah, 00:19:44.05\00:19:46.67 Son of David. 00:19:46.70\00:19:48.06 That is so interesting. That's fascinating. 00:19:48.09\00:19:50.69 And then we'll say, Shavua Tov which means have a good week. 00:19:50.72\00:19:53.35 So again very, very visual, very clear demarcation 00:19:53.38\00:19:57.63 that the Sabbath is ending, we're going out, 00:19:57.66\00:19:59.47 and we're remembering it, 00:19:59.50\00:20:00.53 pausing here before we go on into our secular week, 00:20:00.56\00:20:04.07 the Holy and the secular. 00:20:04.10\00:20:07.05 Another thing we can talk about is mezuzah. 00:20:07.08\00:20:09.22 Are you familiar with mezuzah, does it sound-- 00:20:09.25\00:20:11.28 You know, actually I don't know what the mezuzah is? Okay. 00:20:11.31\00:20:13.30 It's a-- have you ever seen on a Jewish home 00:20:13.33\00:20:15.87 a little box hung on the door. 00:20:15.90\00:20:17.57 Oh, yes. Okay. 00:20:17.60\00:20:19.38 Tilted at kind of a 45 degree angle 00:20:19.41\00:20:21.26 and this is the blessing symbols, 00:20:21.29\00:20:22.99 and we've the blessing going in. 00:20:23.02\00:20:25.41 And this tradition is taken from Deuteronomy 6, 00:20:25.44\00:20:28.39 actually few different places where-- 00:20:28.42\00:20:30.79 Put it on your doorpost. Right. 00:20:30.82\00:20:32.22 Write these laws that I command you 00:20:32.25\00:20:33.85 this day on your doorposts, 00:20:33.88\00:20:35.77 on your hands, on your forehead, 00:20:35.80\00:20:37.45 on your heart. Yes. 00:20:37.48\00:20:38.68 Now obviously He's saying write it on your heart. 00:20:38.71\00:20:40.61 He's talking symbolic all throughout. Right. 00:20:40.64\00:20:43.25 He doesn't want us to have open heart surgery 00:20:43.28\00:20:45.33 and put a little box in there with the scriptures inside it. 00:20:45.36\00:20:48.71 But traditional Judaism 00:20:48.74\00:20:51.38 or Benedict Judaism has place 00:20:51.41\00:20:53.00 with the box on the door tilting in. 00:20:53.03\00:20:56.71 And the scriptures from Deuteronomy 6 inside it-- 00:20:56.74\00:20:59.69 well, some other texts. 00:20:59.72\00:21:03.37 But there is that symbolism of having God's word 00:21:03.40\00:21:07.01 taught in our home 00:21:07.04\00:21:08.35 and that's what I believe God was meaning, 00:21:08.38\00:21:10.92 write these laws not just on the doorposts 00:21:10.95\00:21:13.50 but as you enter and as you leave, 00:21:13.53\00:21:15.52 have it spoken in your home, have it lived out in your home, 00:21:15.55\00:21:18.77 as you go out into society, 00:21:18.80\00:21:20.89 be living out the word of God. Amen. 00:21:20.92\00:21:23.19 Allowed to fill your heart 00:21:23.22\00:21:24.52 and life and comes through fully and completely. 00:21:24.55\00:21:28.16 And the interesting thing is where it says, 00:21:28.19\00:21:30.47 this is where again were the tradition goes off. 00:21:30.50\00:21:33.76 The text says, "Write these laws that I command you this day." 00:21:33.79\00:21:37.42 But you know which laws he commanded this day 00:21:37.45\00:21:39.22 that's in Deuteronomy 6 which was the laws 00:21:39.25\00:21:40.86 that He commanded that day. 00:21:40.89\00:21:42.17 Hebrews, we're viewing the Ten Commandments. 00:21:42.20\00:21:45.05 The Ten Commandments, Deuteronomy 5 right, 00:21:45.08\00:21:46.74 so obviously referring to the ones in Deuteronomy 5. 00:21:46.77\00:21:49.01 But that's not unfortunately 00:21:49.04\00:21:50.12 what's put into traditional Jewish mezuzah. 00:21:50.15\00:21:52.62 Instead of the Ten Commandments of Deuteronomy 5 put in, 00:21:52.65\00:21:55.01 the texts from Deuteronomy 6 that are the instructions, 00:21:55.04\00:21:58.36 let's say put these laws on your doorpost 00:21:58.39\00:22:01.06 that's what put inside. 00:22:01.09\00:22:02.30 But God's wanting the law not again just on the doorposts 00:22:02.33\00:22:05.72 but in the home, lived out in the home. 00:22:05.75\00:22:07.68 Sometimes it's easy to be nice at work or at church 00:22:07.71\00:22:11.82 or at services and then to be miserable at home-- 00:22:11.85\00:22:15.01 and so in the privacy-- 00:22:15.04\00:22:18.37 God wants to be lived out inside and out. 00:22:18.40\00:22:21.48 And then T'fillian, T'fillian. 00:22:21.51\00:22:23.03 Jesus talks about T'fillian, 00:22:23.06\00:22:24.27 so obviously again they were wearing it back in His day-- 00:22:24.30\00:22:26.18 T'fillian. Right. 00:22:26.21\00:22:30.75 Phylacteries is where it's translated sometimes. 00:22:30.78\00:22:33.76 It says you may broad your phylacteries, 00:22:33.79\00:22:35.49 the boxes on the head and on the arm. 00:22:35.52\00:22:39.80 And what's interesting with that, 00:22:39.83\00:22:41.54 okay, there again from the same commandments 00:22:41.57\00:22:43.80 to write these on your hands and on your forehead. 00:22:43.83\00:22:46.18 Well the Mark of Beast is on the forehead 00:22:46.21\00:22:50.33 and on the hand as well. Yes. 00:22:50.36\00:22:52.15 So here's, we got the two, 00:22:52.18\00:22:54.60 God's saying write my laws 00:22:54.63\00:22:56.70 that I command you this day on your hand 00:22:56.73\00:23:00.15 and on your forehead and on your heart 00:23:00.18\00:23:03.13 and on your doorpost. 00:23:03.16\00:23:04.19 So He's wanting His laws lived out in our homes, 00:23:04.22\00:23:06.90 lived out in society, in our actions, 00:23:06.93\00:23:09.73 in our thoughts in the forehead, in our thoughts, 00:23:09.76\00:23:11.98 that what we decide and in what we do, 00:23:12.01\00:23:15.52 all that your hand find it to do, 00:23:15.55\00:23:17.26 do it with all your mind. 00:23:17.29\00:23:18.32 And so the hand representing our actions. 00:23:18.35\00:23:21.27 So write these laws into your actions, 00:23:21.30\00:23:23.05 live them out, live out my laws 00:23:23.08\00:23:25.04 and then write them on your heart love them, 00:23:25.07\00:23:28.12 that God will write His laws into our hearts and minds. 00:23:28.15\00:23:31.53 He's not forcing us to do it. 00:23:31.56\00:23:32.68 He's not stirring up our own passion 00:23:32.71\00:23:37.07 to make us to do that's legalism. 00:23:37.10\00:23:39.09 But when Jesus is in the heart and Jesus is in there 00:23:39.12\00:23:41.81 and Jesus is then writing His law that He wrote, 00:23:41.84\00:23:44.01 it was with His finger that wrote it. 00:23:44.04\00:23:45.66 He's in there, He's living the law out of us 00:23:45.69\00:23:48.28 and through us in our actions, in our thoughts, in our life. 00:23:48.31\00:23:52.13 And so then that makes the Mark of the Beast. 00:23:52.16\00:23:56.29 I will get into that whole big topic 00:23:56.32\00:23:57.68 on your show here today. 00:23:57.71\00:23:58.91 The counterfeit is just the opposite 00:23:58.94\00:24:01.25 in a brief synopsis of what the Mark of Beast is? 00:24:01.28\00:24:04.73 It's the seal of God, it's breaking the laws. 00:24:04.76\00:24:06.60 The seal of God is write this laws on your forehead, 00:24:06.63\00:24:09.09 on your hand and then on your heart. 00:24:09.12\00:24:10.33 And the opposite is teaching 00:24:10.36\00:24:13.02 not to or breaking with your actions 00:24:13.05\00:24:15.31 and with your thoughts and choosing to break the law. 00:24:15.34\00:24:17.04 That's a simple way to put it. 00:24:17.07\00:24:18.10 Simple way to put it, right, right. 00:24:18.13\00:24:19.63 And then we can look at the prayer shawl. 00:24:19.66\00:24:24.97 Everybody has been waiting for you 00:24:25.00\00:24:26.03 to get to that. That's right. 00:24:26.06\00:24:27.09 Looking into that, the tallit. The tallit. 00:24:27.12\00:24:30.08 They are white, most of them are white. 00:24:30.11\00:24:32.21 And again the symbolism of the colors, 00:24:32.24\00:24:34.19 white representing the purity, 00:24:34.22\00:24:36.14 spotless, Jesus is pure and holy, 00:24:36.17\00:24:39.93 blue and that all meant blue, 00:24:39.96\00:24:40.99 but blue represent the law 00:24:41.02\00:24:42.39 and gold faith and these coverings 00:24:42.42\00:24:44.94 and now we see throughout the scripture. 00:24:44.97\00:24:46.00 Okay, now you said that a little bit fast. Okay. 00:24:46.03\00:24:48.24 White is purity, the blue is for the law 00:24:48.27\00:24:51.09 and gold is for faith. 00:24:51.12\00:24:52.36 Right. Okay. 00:24:52.39\00:24:53.44 Gold tried in the fire. 00:24:53.47\00:24:55.27 The faith that goes through trails 00:24:55.30\00:24:56.96 and lives through. Right. 00:24:56.99\00:24:58.17 And the royalty of the law representing in the blue. 00:24:58.20\00:25:02.91 Now we see the tallit used throughout the scriptures. 00:25:02.94\00:25:07.57 And I don't even know we have the time to cover them all, 00:25:07.60\00:25:09.45 but we see a lot, you see Elisha, 00:25:09.48\00:25:11.66 when he comes he calls Elisha 00:25:11.69\00:25:14.64 and he throws his mantle over on him. 00:25:14.67\00:25:17.53 Tallit. Yeah. 00:25:17.56\00:25:18.93 It's that authority, you gonna be 00:25:18.96\00:25:20.47 the next prophet, take my tallit. 00:25:20.50\00:25:23.23 They go down the Jordon River 00:25:23.26\00:25:24.88 and he takes it off and he-- 00:25:24.91\00:25:26.51 Slaps the river. Right. 00:25:26.54\00:25:27.79 And then he ascends up into heaven in the chariot, 00:25:27.82\00:25:30.55 and he says to Elisha, if you see me, go up 00:25:30.58\00:25:32.99 and you'll get a double portion of my spirit. 00:25:33.02\00:25:35.07 He goes up, Elisha sees him and he drop his mantle. 00:25:35.10\00:25:38.98 And Elisha picks it up, 00:25:39.01\00:25:41.25 goes back to the Jordon River and says, 00:25:41.28\00:25:43.21 where is the God of Elisha 00:25:43.24\00:25:46.21 and so that tallit, the covering. 00:25:46.24\00:25:49.58 And then when Elisha, then goes into the cave 00:25:49.61\00:25:55.85 and he's hidden in the cave. 1 Kings 19. 00:25:55.88\00:25:58.33 Right, after the Carmel experience, 00:25:58.36\00:25:59.87 Mount Carmel experience. 00:25:59.90\00:26:01.01 It says that he covered his face with his mantle. Yes. Yes. 00:26:01.04\00:26:04.57 And that's when he heard God's still small voice speak to him. 00:26:04.60\00:26:09.64 Other experiences we have, well, seeing on time, 00:26:09.67\00:26:12.57 we're going to just cut, I'll go to Jesus. 00:26:12.60\00:26:16.07 First explain, why are the knots? Okay. 00:26:16.10\00:26:18.92 Yes, the knots are, those are some traditions 00:26:18.95\00:26:21.58 and the knots on the ends here are way of counting up 00:26:21.61\00:26:24.64 to the laws in the Torah. 00:26:24.67\00:26:26.62 613 and so there is a method of a knot 00:26:26.65\00:26:30.43 and certain twist and so again back to the Bible. 00:26:30.46\00:26:33.93 Now when someone is praying with a prayer shawl. 00:26:33.96\00:26:36.74 Do they do what--Elisha did and covering their face. 00:26:36.77\00:26:39.89 That's why Jesus calls it your prayer closet. Okay. 00:26:39.92\00:26:42.25 Entering into your prayer closet, 00:26:42.28\00:26:43.78 you're cutting out and then you can physically hear through 00:26:43.81\00:26:45.61 but it is symbolism of closing your eyes, 00:26:45.64\00:26:47.88 covering your eyes, covering your ears, 00:26:47.91\00:26:49.51 covering the avenues to the soul. 00:26:49.54\00:26:51.04 Entering in under God's righteousness, 00:26:51.07\00:26:53.24 under Jesus' righteousness 00:26:53.27\00:26:55.17 and that's back to that text 00:26:55.20\00:26:56.30 that you talked that you read in the beginning 00:26:56.33\00:26:57.83 that God has cloth, that He is clothed 00:26:57.86\00:27:00.49 and then you have Zachariah, take off the filthy garments, 00:27:00.52\00:27:04.21 clothe him in righteous garments-- 00:27:04.24\00:27:06.58 These are so fascinating and I can't believe 00:27:06.61\00:27:08.77 we are already out of time 00:27:08.80\00:27:09.83 but what we've talked about today 00:27:09.86\00:27:11.96 is just these are some traditions of the Jewish people 00:27:11.99\00:27:16.34 that have a great spiritual analogy 00:27:16.37\00:27:18.84 and we're not saying you have to do them 00:27:18.87\00:27:20.30 but these are just so wonderful things to learn. 00:27:20.33\00:27:23.43 Thank you so much for being with us today again. 00:27:23.46\00:27:25.98 Thank you, Shelly. All right. 00:27:26.01\00:27:27.53 I'm sorry we are all out of time. 00:27:27.56\00:27:29.45 You know, I hope that you've enjoyed this, 00:27:29.48\00:27:31.76 I think it's been fascinating to see these are things 00:27:31.79\00:27:34.66 that Jesus did when He was growing up 00:27:34.69\00:27:37.44 and when he walked the face of the earth. 00:27:37.47\00:27:39.59 These are some of the traditions that He followed. 00:27:39.62\00:27:41.49 Now they are not in the Bible, they are extra biblical. 00:27:41.52\00:27:43.74 But they certainly don't contrary 00:27:43.77\00:27:46.35 to what's in the Bible. 00:27:46.38\00:27:47.79 Well, for now we have to say good bye. 00:27:47.82\00:27:50.11 May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the love of the Father 00:27:50.14\00:27:52.68 and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. 00:27:52.71\00:27:56.39
