If you were to stand by in most doctors offices today 00:00:01.98\00:00:04.72 and listen to the presenting complaint of the patient 00:00:04.75\00:00:08.42 you would find that in many instances, 00:00:08.45\00:00:12.42 maybe the majority of times, the patient would say 00:00:12.45\00:00:15.96 I have an allergy doctor, is there something you can do 00:00:15.99\00:00:19.85 for me. 00:00:19.88\00:00:20.85 Well there are some things that can be done 00:00:20.86\00:00:22.85 for people with allergies, and we would like to talk 00:00:22.88\00:00:24.95 about some of these issues in this program, 00:00:24.98\00:00:27.32 so we hope you will be with us during it. 00:00:27.35\00:00:29.29 Welcome to Help Yourself to Health with Dr. Agatha Thrash, 00:00:48.63\00:00:52.38 of Uchee Pines Institute, and now here is your host, 00:00:52.41\00:00:56.05 Dr. Thrash. 00:00:56.08\00:00:57.51 A host of disorders are associated with a sensitivity 00:00:57.54\00:01:04.76 or an allergy. 00:01:04.79\00:01:06.15 There are a number of these that if you will pay very close 00:01:06.18\00:01:11.52 attention to some very common things, 00:01:11.55\00:01:13.93 very simple things, you will find that your ability 00:01:13.96\00:01:19.05 to live successfully in life with good health 00:01:19.08\00:01:22.75 and being happy, will be very much better 00:01:22.78\00:01:26.18 than if you didn't know these very simple things. 00:01:26.21\00:01:29.73 Such as overweight, being a sensitivity 00:01:29.76\00:01:33.83 or allergic reaction. 00:01:33.86\00:01:35.54 Not everybody is agreeing with that statement but 00:01:35.57\00:01:40.00 there are enough people I think, who have proven that 00:01:40.03\00:01:44.96 one of the reasons why they are overweight is 00:01:44.99\00:01:47.59 because they are addicted to a food. 00:01:47.62\00:01:50.17 Now an addiction to a food almost always means that 00:01:50.20\00:01:53.76 the person has a sensitivity to that food. 00:01:53.79\00:01:56.96 Let us say that a person just loves sweets, 00:01:56.99\00:02:01.57 they are so into sweets that they would rather die 00:02:01.60\00:02:06.99 than not have their sweet things for their meals. 00:02:07.02\00:02:10.68 You take the sweet things away, say for three months 00:02:10.71\00:02:14.81 and they never even think of them again, 00:02:14.84\00:02:17.51 unless they see them. 00:02:17.54\00:02:19.55 When they see them, then they remember ah! 00:02:19.58\00:02:22.90 I used to be addicted to that, and they want to have it again. 00:02:22.93\00:02:26.12 Just like with drug addiction, which is also to some degree 00:02:26.15\00:02:30.34 a sensitivity a capturing of the immune system 00:02:30.37\00:02:34.16 so that the immune system becomes unable to resist 00:02:34.19\00:02:39.17 or to tell the mind that it should resist 00:02:39.20\00:02:42.20 that particular drug. 00:02:42.23\00:02:44.18 So if you know someone who is overweight, 00:02:44.21\00:02:48.25 or you yourself struggle with a weight problem 00:02:48.28\00:02:51.71 try eliminating some of those favorite foods 00:02:51.74\00:02:55.28 that you have, that food that you think, 00:02:55.31\00:02:57.66 I just couldn't live happily without this food. 00:02:57.69\00:03:00.88 Eliminate that and see if that simple thing does not 00:03:00.91\00:03:03.87 make it so you can live happily in life. 00:03:03.90\00:03:07.23 Don't forget that there are so many foods 00:03:07.26\00:03:10.26 that you will not go hungry and you will not come to 00:03:10.29\00:03:13.86 not enjoy your food. 00:03:13.89\00:03:15.77 If you lived in one country as compared to living in another 00:03:15.80\00:03:21.31 you would find that often you would love the foods 00:03:21.35\00:03:26.07 served in that country. 00:03:26.10\00:03:27.46 If you moved to another country you adopt their lifestyle, 00:03:27.49\00:03:31.46 their diet, you will find that you love the food 00:03:31.49\00:03:34.80 served in that country, maybe after a little 00:03:34.83\00:03:37.15 adjustment period. 00:03:37.18\00:03:39.34 So give yourself the opportunity to get rid of those foods 00:03:39.37\00:03:42.89 to which you are sensitive or to which you are allergic 00:03:42.92\00:03:46.16 and see if that doesn't help you with your weight. 00:03:46.19\00:03:48.53 Now I have Dr. Don Miller with me today, 00:03:48.56\00:03:51.71 and he is going to talk about a very prominent 00:03:51.74\00:03:55.66 fortunately not highly common disease called Asthma. 00:03:55.69\00:04:01.04 Dr. Miller tell us about asthma. 00:04:01.07\00:04:03.48 Well it may not be highly common, but it's becoming 00:04:03.51\00:04:06.12 more common in the last decade, and it's gone up by 00:04:06.15\00:04:08.66 one third, it's a major problem for people who have it 00:04:08.69\00:04:12.28 and it's becoming a major problem in really 00:04:12.31\00:04:15.86 developed countries. 00:04:15.89\00:04:16.86 It is not so much of a problem in countries 00:04:16.89\00:04:18.73 that are not developed, because there are certain things 00:04:18.76\00:04:20.96 about asthma that are going to be, causing asthma 00:04:20.99\00:04:26.02 in lifestyle. 00:04:26.05\00:04:27.02 Now there are two types of asthma, 00:04:27.03\00:04:28.00 we'll start with intrinsic, and there's extrinsic. 00:04:28.01\00:04:31.81 The extrinsic is basically from an outside source, 00:04:31.84\00:04:34.83 it could be from a pollutant of some sort, from pollen, 00:04:34.86\00:04:38.52 from animal dander, from the food that you eat. 00:04:38.55\00:04:40.62 Then there's intrinsic asthma which could be caused by 00:04:40.65\00:04:44.58 emotional upset, infection, exercise, cold breeze 00:04:44.61\00:04:50.83 in the face, various things can cause it, 00:04:50.86\00:04:52.91 but basically has nothing to do with an allergic reaction 00:04:52.94\00:04:56.38 to something else. 00:04:56.41\00:04:57.44 But we're going to see that both of them basically have 00:04:57.47\00:04:59.96 the same reaction on the body. 00:04:59.99\00:05:01.87 It's going to cause a swelling of the bronchial tree, 00:05:01.90\00:05:05.11 basically a muscle tightening of the little bronchi 00:05:05.14\00:05:09.09 through which the air travels, plus the mucous becomes thicker 00:05:09.12\00:05:12.73 in there, and the person has a hard time exhaling. 00:05:12.76\00:05:15.91 They can inhale pretty well ok, but it's exhaling 00:05:15.94\00:05:19.51 where they get their problem. 00:05:19.54\00:05:20.98 There are a few things we can do for a person who has asthma, 00:05:21.01\00:05:26.25 and one is we need to lower what we call the 00:05:26.28\00:05:29.65 allergy threshold, because 80% of the people are extrinsic 00:05:29.68\00:05:34.56 asthmatics. 00:05:34.59\00:05:36.96 It basically means that something from the outside, 00:05:36.99\00:05:39.07 they are allergic to something out there, 00:05:39.10\00:05:40.70 so what we want to do is lower that threshold. 00:05:40.73\00:05:44.81 We have various thresholds that we go through in life. 00:05:44.84\00:05:47.80 We have a thing called the pain threshold, some people 00:05:48.22\00:05:50.92 just looking at something painful makes them hurt. 00:05:50.95\00:05:55.77 I remember when I was a child, when the doctors used to make 00:05:55.80\00:05:58.80 home calls, and I would be sick and he would come in, 00:05:58.83\00:06:00.79 and always, it seemed like his favorite thing was to open 00:06:00.82\00:06:04.18 up that big black bag and pull out that big long needle. 00:06:04.21\00:06:08.03 As soon as I saw the needle I hurt, I mean I started crying 00:06:08.06\00:06:11.72 because I knew it was going to hurt me, and so that is 00:06:11.75\00:06:14.59 a threshold, some people's threshold is very high, 00:06:14.62\00:06:16.74 and they can take a lot. 00:06:16.77\00:06:17.88 Same thing with allergies, there are some people who, 00:06:17.91\00:06:22.45 it's a blessing from God, that their immune system is 00:06:22.48\00:06:25.23 so strong, their bodies are so strong that they aren't 00:06:25.26\00:06:28.50 allergic to very many things. 00:06:28.53\00:06:29.98 I have always fallen in that class, now as you get older 00:06:30.01\00:06:33.71 you start to loose some of this immunity. 00:06:33.74\00:06:36.23 This takes something like poison ivy, 00:06:36.26\00:06:38.71 I've never been allergic to that stuff, and foods, 00:06:38.74\00:06:41.48 I don't know of anything that I am allergic to. 00:06:41.51\00:06:43.73 So we need to lower though if we are allergic to things, 00:06:43.76\00:06:48.06 allergic threshold, if you are allergic to dust, and 00:06:48.09\00:06:51.41 to animal dander, and to cockroaches, the little dander 00:06:51.44\00:06:55.67 that they live along, that's one of the big causes that 00:06:55.70\00:06:58.99 as a matter of fact they find that many children growing up 00:06:59.02\00:07:01.33 in areas where there's lots of cockroaches have Asthma 00:07:01.36\00:07:04.64 and they are tracing it to all those little black things 00:07:04.67\00:07:06.87 you see in your closets. 00:07:06.90\00:07:08.16 That can be a very prolific cause of the asthma in children. 00:07:08.19\00:07:13.41 So we lower that threshold as much as possible. 00:07:13.44\00:07:16.61 There are a few other things we can do: 00:07:16.64\00:07:18.71 One is we need to stay well hydrated. 00:07:18.74\00:07:21.35 Mucous is in our lungs on purpose, it covers the 00:07:21.38\00:07:25.05 little cilia and basically we breathe something in 00:07:25.08\00:07:28.21 that got past the hairs in our nose and all the protections 00:07:28.24\00:07:31.36 and it gets down in to our lungs, it sticks to this mucous 00:07:31.39\00:07:34.84 and the cilia is always sweeping it up and we end up 00:07:34.87\00:07:38.92 either expectorating it, spitting it out, 00:07:38.95\00:07:40.63 or we swallow these different things. 00:07:40.66\00:07:42.74 But it can become very, very thick, and we need to drink 00:07:42.77\00:07:46.93 plenty of water to keep it from getting so thick. 00:07:46.96\00:07:49.47 Another thing that we can do if a person has asthma 00:07:49.50\00:07:52.70 is teach them how to play a wind instrument. 00:07:52.73\00:07:55.74 Blowing causes some back pressure and it causes the 00:07:55.77\00:08:00.55 bronchial tree to sort of expand a little bit, 00:08:00.58\00:08:04.09 and so somebody who is learning to play the trumpet 00:08:04.12\00:08:07.16 or the tuba, or some type of instrument, 00:08:07.19\00:08:08.94 get them a set of bagpipes, that will really open it up, 00:08:08.97\00:08:12.40 it will open up that bronchial tree. 00:08:12.43\00:08:15.30 Let's say somebody's getting ready to have an asthma attack 00:08:15.33\00:08:20.65 put their lips to their hand, and have a very small hole 00:08:20.68\00:08:26.34 in your fist and blow very hard, that gives some 00:08:26.37\00:08:31.79 back pressure and can expand it, or have them 00:08:31.82\00:08:34.52 blow up a balloon, or blow through a straw. 00:08:34.55\00:08:37.31 A person who has asthma needs to learn how to 00:08:37.35\00:08:40.93 breathe deeply, and should practice drawing air 00:08:40.96\00:08:45.56 through the nose, and blowing it out through 00:08:45.59\00:08:48.83 pursed lips, and see how long they can blow it out 00:08:48.86\00:08:53.53 and they need to make sure that they are completely 00:08:53.56\00:08:55.38 exhaling all the air they have in there. 00:08:55.41\00:08:57.74 This is going to give you some good lung health anyway. 00:08:57.77\00:08:59.94 It will help to keep those muscles that surround 00:08:59.97\00:09:02.91 the bronchi strong and supple and keep them expanding out. 00:09:02.94\00:09:06.96 There's other things we can do, garlic is probably bar-none 00:09:06.99\00:09:11.97 the best herb that you can take for an asthma person 00:09:12.00\00:09:15.13 and especially an asthma attack. 00:09:15.16\00:09:17.02 So when going into an asthma attack, have somebody make them 00:09:17.05\00:09:21.21 a cup of garlic tea. 00:09:21.24\00:09:23.30 Just take some hot water, chop up a couple of garlic in there, 00:09:23.33\00:09:26.69 put in the water stir it up, and have them drink it. 00:09:26.72\00:09:29.46 Now often, and that's all you have is water and garlic 00:09:29.49\00:09:32.92 often that will cause the gag response and sometimes 00:09:32.95\00:09:36.05 to the point of throwing up. 00:09:36.08\00:09:37.15 Now if you have ever regurgitated, ever thrown up 00:09:37.18\00:09:39.79 you know what happens when you do, once it's all out 00:09:39.82\00:09:42.54 you are going to find that you have a runny nose, 00:09:42.57\00:09:44.17 and watery eyes. 00:09:44.20\00:09:45.71 This is a reaction the body goes through, 00:09:45.74\00:09:48.06 which is a perfect reaction for somebody who is having 00:09:48.09\00:09:51.81 an asthma attack. 00:09:51.84\00:09:52.90 Throwing up loosens up the secretions of the lungs 00:09:52.99\00:09:56.77 and of the body, and allows things to flow more freely. 00:09:56.80\00:09:59.96 The nice thing about garlic, and you'll find this out just 00:09:59.99\00:10:03.45 take a piece of garlic, and when after you've eaten it, 00:10:03.48\00:10:06.57 when do you first know, or somebody else first know 00:10:06.60\00:10:09.44 that you've eaten it, it's expressed through the mouth. 00:10:09.47\00:10:13.26 So as you take the garlic, it expresses itself through 00:10:13.29\00:10:17.16 the lungs which is what you are smelling 00:10:17.19\00:10:19.48 when a person breathes out 00:10:19.51\00:10:21.25 and so it's very good for the lungs. 00:10:21.28\00:10:22.99 Another very good herb is mullein, M-U-L-L-E-I-N. 00:10:23.02\00:10:28.50 The person should be drinking Mullein tea if they are having 00:10:28.53\00:10:31.39 an asthma attack, another thing and excellent treatment 00:10:31.42\00:10:35.17 for someone having an asthma attack, we give you two simple 00:10:35.20\00:10:37.95 treatments: 1. You apply hot to the back of the neck, 00:10:37.98\00:10:42.94 and hot to the chest, at the same time, 00:10:42.97\00:10:45.41 but the very best one, and I heard a doctor talking about 00:10:47.36\00:10:48.80 this one time, and her son was an asthmatic, 00:10:48.83\00:10:51.72 and he was having a severe asthma attack, to the point 00:10:51.75\00:10:54.88 she could no longer pick up lung sounds in his breathing, 00:10:54.91\00:10:58.55 he was getting some air in there, 00:10:58.58\00:10:59.90 but he was in serious condition. 00:10:59.93\00:11:01.23 She laid him down on the bed with his head hanging over, 00:11:01.26\00:11:05.79 put a basin on the floor under his head, and the got a gallon 00:11:05.82\00:11:09.58 of cold water, held it about two feet above his head, 00:11:09.61\00:11:13.36 and slowly poured it so it hit the nape of his neck, 00:11:13.39\00:11:16.98 because his head was hanging down, it ran over 00:11:17.01\00:11:19.78 the back of the head, down over the forehead, 00:11:19.81\00:11:22.30 and into the basin on the floor. 00:11:22.33\00:11:24.89 Pouring it slowly so it took between sixty and ninety seconds 00:11:24.92\00:11:29.19 for this water to be completely poured out of this gallon jug, 00:11:29.22\00:11:33.58 and it reversed the asthmatic attack. 00:11:33.61\00:11:37.27 So simple things that you can do 00:11:37.30\00:11:39.68 if you are having an asthma attack. 00:11:39.71\00:11:41.30 It is a serious problem, some people even die of an 00:11:41.33\00:11:44.97 asthma attack, and so know what to do, get the garlic out, 00:11:45.00\00:11:47.83 do the cold water, do the fomentations, 00:11:47.86\00:11:50.22 open up that bronchial tree, blow in your hand, 00:11:50.25\00:11:52.55 and send a prayer upstairs, and Dr. Thrash I've seen 00:11:52.58\00:11:56.24 this happen, and I've seen it work for people. 00:11:56.27\00:11:57.97 Yes, we're very confident that these things can help. 00:11:58.00\00:12:02.34 One of the things that has increased the death rate 00:12:02.37\00:12:07.27 from asthma, the standard people feel that the main thing 00:12:07.30\00:12:14.53 has been the increase in the great variety of drugs 00:12:14.56\00:12:18.31 used for asthma. 00:12:18.34\00:12:19.71 Not necessarily that asthma is getting so much worse, 00:12:19.74\00:12:24.11 intrinsically, but it's being treated in ways that 00:12:24.14\00:12:29.20 put such a stress on the body that, that can be the thing 00:12:29.23\00:12:32.98 that increases the death rate. 00:12:33.01\00:12:34.61 There are ways that you can test yourself for allergies, 00:12:34.64\00:12:38.80 one of the best ways is elimination and challenge diet. 00:12:38.83\00:12:42.78 There is another one called the pulse test, 00:12:42.81\00:12:46.00 I don't know if it works or not, it seems to work but, 00:12:46.03\00:12:49.40 it may not work for you. 00:12:49.43\00:12:51.10 Here is the way that it's done, you will see immediately 00:12:51.13\00:12:54.18 why it's not so popular. 00:12:54.21\00:12:55.57 A person sits for ten minutes and is at rest before 00:12:55.60\00:13:00.68 they begin their "meal," and the meal is going to be 00:13:00.71\00:13:04.64 of just one item, so after the ten minutes are up, 00:13:04.67\00:13:09.16 then with a stop watch preferably, but if not, 00:13:09.19\00:13:12.08 for one full minute using a watch with a second hand, 00:13:12.11\00:13:15.95 test what the pulse rate is and write it down. 00:13:15.98\00:13:20.43 Then the single food is eaten, the whole meal is made 00:13:20.46\00:13:24.37 of that single food, nothing else. 00:13:24.40\00:13:27.01 Then at fifteen minutes after beginning eating that food, 00:13:27.04\00:13:31.47 take the pulse again, using preferably a stop watch, 00:13:31.50\00:13:35.40 then at thirty minutes, then at sixty minutes. 00:13:35.43\00:13:38.34 Then the person's pulse rates, all three of these, 00:13:38.37\00:13:45.97 are checked to see if there is an elevation in the pulse rate. 00:13:46.00\00:13:51.24 If there is an elevation of more than ten points, 00:13:51.27\00:13:56.40 then that food is one that probably is causing you to have 00:13:56.43\00:14:02.31 an allergy to it. 00:14:02.34\00:14:03.88 Now there are so many things that can interfere, 00:14:03.91\00:14:06.74 if you get excited during the meal, if somebody comes 00:14:06.77\00:14:09.87 to visit during the meal, if you have to get up and 00:14:09.90\00:14:12.43 get something for someone else during the meal, 00:14:12.46\00:14:16.17 then that's going to make you so that you're not in the 00:14:16.20\00:14:18.61 resting state. 00:14:18.64\00:14:20.17 Most people will not be very happy to learn that they 00:14:20.20\00:14:24.24 can only have one food at a meal, and if they check 00:14:24.27\00:14:28.05 themselves in this way, they only want to do one of these 00:14:28.08\00:14:31.15 per week, well that stretches it out quite a long time. 00:14:31.18\00:14:34.01 The elimination and challenge diet is the one that I use 00:14:34.04\00:14:37.61 almost all of the time, and it's very simple to use, 00:14:37.64\00:14:40.91 maybe not any more acceptable to the patient. 00:14:40.94\00:14:44.82 Well I guess it is a good bit more acceptable 00:14:44.85\00:14:47.98 than the pulse test, eating only a single food. 00:14:48.01\00:14:51.02 But what happens is that a list of foods that are known 00:14:51.05\00:14:54.45 to be allergenic types of foods. 00:14:54.48\00:14:57.18 They of course begin with dairy products, 00:14:57.21\00:14:59.01 since that's the food that causes more allergies 00:14:59.04\00:15:03.24 and disabilities, than any other food that we eat. 00:15:03.27\00:15:06.36 It causes 60% of them, hands down. 00:15:06.39\00:15:09.33 Then the second one is coffee, tea, colas, and chocolate. 00:15:09.36\00:15:13.04 Then the third is citrus foods and juices, 00:15:13.07\00:15:15.35 and so forth, you can get a list of them from any allergist 00:15:15.38\00:15:19.81 who is practicing today, or you can get one from a library 00:15:19.84\00:15:23.58 or from the internet. 00:15:23.61\00:15:24.69 You can also get it from our web site, which you can 00:15:24.72\00:15:28.18 obtain by simply logging on to 3abn. org and then 00:15:28.21\00:15:33.96 you find Uchee Pines and click on that ucheepines. org 00:15:33.99\00:15:38.88 and we will be happy to provide that for you. 00:15:38.91\00:15:41.94 Then once the symptoms of the allergy have gone away 00:15:41.97\00:15:48.17 then the person starts adding back a food, one every 00:15:48.20\00:15:52.15 five to seven days, until you run across a food that makes 00:15:52.18\00:15:56.42 your symptoms come back. 00:15:56.45\00:15:57.68 Once the symptom comes back, then you start making 00:15:57.71\00:16:00.70 a list and wait until the symptom..., you eliminate 00:16:00.73\00:16:05.18 whatever food it was that caused it, 00:16:05.21\00:16:06.87 then wait until your symptoms have gone, add another 00:16:06.90\00:16:09.90 food back, and you keep on doing this until you have 00:16:10.34\00:16:14.27 discovered all those foods that cause you to have a problem. 00:16:14.30\00:16:17.66 We find this to be the most reliable and essentially 00:16:17.70\00:16:22.93 the most simple way of finding those foods to which 00:16:22.96\00:16:26.64 one is allergic. 00:16:26.67\00:16:27.86 Now always somebody asks well I want to find those foods 00:16:27.89\00:16:32.06 that I'm allergic to, that I can take a shot, so that I 00:16:32.09\00:16:34.84 won't have it any more. 00:16:34.87\00:16:35.94 If you know a shot like that, that's good, but most people 00:16:35.97\00:16:42.72 are not able to find such a shot. 00:16:42.75\00:16:45.10 Avoidance is still the very most important remedy 00:16:45.13\00:16:52.38 for allergies, so until you know some better method 00:16:52.41\00:16:57.31 then the safest..., we don't know about the safety 00:16:57.34\00:17:00.18 of these shots, the safest method, and also that one 00:17:00.21\00:17:04.24 that is most likely to bring you success is the elimination 00:17:04.27\00:17:08.77 and challenge diet. 00:17:08.80\00:17:10.01 Now Dr. Miller is going to talk about the subject of hay fever 00:17:10.04\00:17:14.18 which is another very common cause of allergies. 00:17:14.21\00:17:17.44 It is a common cause of allergies, 00:17:17.47\00:17:19.02 I would say at the onset, it's not so much to do with hay, 00:17:19.05\00:17:21.99 and it's not so much to do with fever. 00:17:22.02\00:17:23.55 It can have to do with hay, because hay produces pollen, 00:17:23.58\00:17:30.73 produces dust, but fever is not usually one of the symptoms. 00:17:30.76\00:17:34.37 You've got a reddening of the eyes, you've got running 00:17:34.40\00:17:36.73 of the nose, you've got itching and scratching, 00:17:36.76\00:17:38.83 and sneezing and dripping, and it's just not a very good 00:17:38.86\00:17:42.55 experience, and some people really suffer 00:17:42.58\00:17:44.87 with this particular problem, 00:17:44.90\00:17:46.80 it's really an allergic rhinitis, 00:17:46.83\00:17:50.01 it's something happening in the nose, and it's normally caused 00:17:50.04\00:17:53.27 by pollens or molds that are in the air. 00:17:53.30\00:17:57.01 I've know people who have walked into basements 00:17:57.04\00:17:59.25 that were completely moldy and gotten an attack 00:17:59.28\00:18:02.05 just from taking one breath in the basement, 00:18:02.08\00:18:04.29 we got to be careful where we're at. 00:18:04.32\00:18:05.74 It's often seasonal, and what seasons? 00:18:05.77\00:18:10.23 It's usually going to be in the spring and in the fall 00:18:10.80\00:18:12.80 when the pollens are most likely to be in the air. 00:18:12.83\00:18:16.22 Living down in Alabama where we are, 00:18:16.25\00:18:18.75 in the spring time, our cars will be yellow 00:18:18.78\00:18:22.18 puddles will be yellow with the pollen coming from the 00:18:22.21\00:18:24.83 pine trees, and people who are allergic to that particular 00:18:24.86\00:18:28.59 pollen, have a miserable time for that two or three week 00:18:28.62\00:18:32.10 period of time, and then it's gone. 00:18:32.13\00:18:34.30 Now the person seems to have this problem all the time 00:18:34.33\00:18:37.99 then it could be another cause, it could be related to 00:18:38.02\00:18:41.84 some food that they are eating, it could be related to something 00:18:41.87\00:18:45.44 that they have in their home, like an animal, or other things 00:18:45.47\00:18:48.86 like this. 00:18:48.89\00:18:49.86 So what they need to do is to try to fare it out, 00:18:49.87\00:18:51.64 if you have hay fever, what we call hay fever 00:18:51.67\00:18:53.99 all the time, find out what it is, it could be the feathers 00:18:54.02\00:18:57.84 in your pillow, it could be the dust on your floor, 00:18:57.87\00:19:00.34 find out what these things are and eliminate them. 00:19:00.37\00:19:03.35 I've already talked about the allergy threshold, 00:19:03.38\00:19:06.73 find out what yours is. 00:19:06.76\00:19:08.17 Now the thing about the allergy threshold, is our immune systems 00:19:08.20\00:19:12.07 are able to endure so much, and the stronger we make our 00:19:12.10\00:19:16.50 immune system, the less we're going to have the 00:19:16.53\00:19:18.90 allergic reactions to foods and other things 00:19:18.93\00:19:20.97 in our environment, because you are not going to be able 00:19:21.00\00:19:23.26 to avoid dust, you are not going to be able to avoid pollen 00:19:23.29\00:19:26.91 unless you live in a bubble, and I don't recommend that 00:19:26.94\00:19:29.34 as a good place to live. 00:19:29.37\00:19:30.57 You are out in the world, learn how to get your body well, 00:19:30.60\00:19:33.95 but there are some simple things that you can do 00:19:33.98\00:19:36.56 for this thing. 00:19:36.59\00:19:37.85 Now ragweed is 75% responsible for hay fevers, 00:19:37.88\00:19:43.47 so during ragweed season maybe it is best to try to stay 00:19:43.50\00:19:47.88 upwind of the ragweed, although it's going to be all over 00:19:47.91\00:19:50.68 the place, in many places that you are. 00:19:50.71\00:19:53.05 Emotions can also precipitate a hay fever reaction, 00:19:53.08\00:19:59.80 and so try to keep your emotions under control. 00:19:59.83\00:20:02.66 You know we worry about things and we fret about things, 00:20:02.69\00:20:05.73 and we get angry about things, we need to learn 00:20:05.76\00:20:07.88 to just sit there and just rest in the Lord, and say Lord, 00:20:07.91\00:20:10.34 I can't handle this problem it's much to big with me, 00:20:10.37\00:20:13.52 He says come unto me, all ye that labored and heavy laden 00:20:13.55\00:20:16.91 and I will give you rest from your worries, your cares, 00:20:16.94\00:20:19.13 your troubles, your angers, He says I will take all of these 00:20:19.16\00:20:21.72 on Myself, you just take my yoke, and I think these are good 00:20:21.75\00:20:24.88 suggestions that you can do. 00:20:24.91\00:20:26.39 You need to be on a good diet, and that's without 00:20:26.42\00:20:29.99 saying if you are on a good healthy diet, 00:20:30.02\00:20:32.04 we strengthen our immune system, we strengthen our bodies 00:20:32.07\00:20:35.03 to be able to ward off some of these viscous attacks 00:20:35.06\00:20:39.53 by our environments today. 00:20:39.56\00:20:41.49 Grape seed extract, a very good remedy that you take 00:20:41.52\00:20:47.87 it's a thing that you can buy in a health food store 00:20:47.90\00:20:50.01 it has a lot of bioflavonoids and anti-allergenic properties 00:20:50.04\00:20:54.97 in there, and what they do is strengthen the cell walls 00:20:55.00\00:20:59.32 of your basophiles and your mast cells, now these 00:20:59.35\00:21:02.31 are the ones when they burst open, they release 00:21:02.34\00:21:04.64 allergic chemicals. 00:21:04.67\00:21:05.90 If we could strengthen those cells, we won't have so much 00:21:05.93\00:21:09.19 of an allergic reaction, so grape seed extract 00:21:09.22\00:21:11.61 is very, very good, for someone who has these problems 00:21:11.64\00:21:14.47 and I recommend that if you are getting ready to suffer 00:21:14.50\00:21:16.49 with it, or are suffering with it, give it a try, 00:21:16.52\00:21:19.07 it can't hurt to try it. 00:21:19.10\00:21:20.29 Garlic, extremely good for congestion, 00:21:20.32\00:21:23.97 you can take garlic tea, you can just chop it up and eat it, 00:21:24.00\00:21:27.30 however you want to take it, 00:21:27.33\00:21:28.32 it will help with allergic reactions. 00:21:28.35\00:21:30.57 Drink plenty of water, get plenty of exercise, 00:21:30.60\00:21:33.58 and if you are having a particularly bad attack, 00:21:33.61\00:21:36.10 try a hot foot bath, putting your feet in hot water 00:21:36.13\00:21:38.95 will sit there by just derivation, 00:21:38.98\00:21:41.84 draw blood down from the upper part of the body, 00:21:41.87\00:21:45.91 relieving congestion in the face and your nose area 00:21:45.94\00:21:49.38 and in the chest, and you can find some good results 00:21:49.41\00:21:52.30 just from something as simple as a hot foot bath. 00:21:52.33\00:21:55.24 I like God's simple remedies Dr. Thrash. 00:21:55.27\00:21:57.23 Yes, there not only simple, but there inexpensive. 00:21:57.26\00:21:59.84 One of the problems that we associate with an allergy is 00:21:59.87\00:22:03.02 that of Eczema 00:22:03.05\00:22:04.02 It often comes on the hands so that the entire hand, 00:22:04.03\00:22:07.32 the back of the hand and the front of the hand, 00:22:07.35\00:22:09.36 or the palm of the hand, may be involved in it 00:22:09.39\00:22:13.07 and it starts out with tiny little cracks in the skin, 00:22:13.10\00:22:17.00 that follow the skin lines as well on the palm, 00:22:17.03\00:22:22.09 as on the backside, and these little cracks can be 00:22:22.12\00:22:25.81 widened by scratching, and they are itchy. 00:22:25.84\00:22:28.20 So the person scratches, that widens the little cracks, 00:22:28.23\00:22:32.42 and then you get a red rash too, and the little cracks 00:22:32.45\00:22:36.66 may actually become oblivious to the little cracks 00:22:36.69\00:22:42.13 because they have been buried in the rash 00:22:42.16\00:22:46.81 that comes following it. 00:22:46.85\00:22:48.26 So you don't really realize that what you have done 00:22:48.30\00:22:50.90 has caused the rash. 00:22:50.93\00:22:52.86 So here is what you must do, if the Eczema on the hands 00:22:52.89\00:22:58.10 is caused by something you are contacting every day 00:22:58.13\00:23:03.25 such as dish water, or cleaning agents, or just water with 00:23:03.28\00:23:09.18 the things with the purifying agents in it that come from 00:23:09.21\00:23:13.43 the municipal water supply where you get your water. 00:23:13.46\00:23:16.50 These things can cause an Eczema in some people, 00:23:16.53\00:23:19.89 so if they keep the hands covered with Vaseline 00:23:19.92\00:23:24.49 that will help to a large degree to get rid of the Eczema. 00:23:24.52\00:23:30.21 This is one of the treatments of choice when you have 00:23:30.24\00:23:33.56 the Eczema with these..., sometimes they will weep 00:23:33.59\00:23:36.58 in these little cracks, so take a lump of Vaseline, 00:23:36.62\00:23:41.30 just about the size of a large bean, 00:23:41.33\00:23:44.51 put that in the hand, and then wet the hand with 00:23:44.54\00:23:48.26 a little water, and then rub it around like that, 00:23:48.29\00:23:51.46 and it takes a good bit of effort to do that, because 00:23:51.49\00:23:54.14 friction develops, once you try to emulsify 00:23:54.17\00:23:57.83 with the water, and so your hands don't slide 00:23:57.86\00:24:03.24 as nicely as they do with a hand lotion. 00:24:03.27\00:24:06.08 Once you have made an emulsion, which will look sort of milky 00:24:06.11\00:24:09.82 on the hands, then you smooth that over the hands 00:24:09.85\00:24:14.14 in the direction of the skin lines, 00:24:14.17\00:24:16.61 not against the skin lines, which would open up these 00:24:16.64\00:24:20.45 little cracks again, so you need to be careful 00:24:20.48\00:24:23.18 about that point. 00:24:23.21\00:24:24.53 Then there are some things that you can take 00:24:24.56\00:24:27.86 in the way of supplements, Bee Pollen is one of those, 00:24:27.89\00:24:31.21 Ashwagandha is one of the things that you can take 00:24:31.24\00:24:34.75 that can be very helpful, Quercitin which is common 00:24:34.78\00:24:38.62 in onions, very good constituent in onions 00:24:38.65\00:24:41.67 that can
