As we study these
three doctrines today, we ask

us from Your Holy Word

the truth
regarding these matters.

There are three
doctrines of Scripture that are

inseparably linked together.

And they must be
understood together.

If we get one of
these doctrines wrong,

the other two
will also be wrong.

And so, it is vitally
important that we understand

the Bible truth about
these three doctrines.

The doctrines that I'm
referring to are, first of all,

the state of the dead;
what happens when someone dies.

Secondly, the biblical
concept of the judgment.

And third, the second coming of
Jesus Christ in power and glory.

So in our study today, we
are going to take a look at

these three doctrines
and how they are related

with one another.

And I'd like to
begin by reading from

Genesis chapter 2 and verse 7.

Now, what aspect of
man is composed of dust?

Now, we've already noticed

He actually used clay, right?

Because you can't
form anything out of dust.

So God took the dust of
the ground, that is, clay.

He formed a perfect
body with all of its organs.

The only problem
was, the body had no life.

The body was lifeless.

begin to function.

that God created a perfect body

parts of the body began

Every organ and every
aspect of man doing what God

Now, inside the head of
that body, God placed the brain.

The brain is the processing
center of every person.

In other words, the
brain is that which records

and classifies all of
the information that comes

through our five senses.

And basically, as we
live, we input information

senses into our brain.

And the total accumulation
of the information that

is what forms our self identity

In other words, our character
or self identity is determined

by the information that we

our personal identity.

Now we've noticed what
happened when God created man.

Let's take a look at
what the Bible says about

the meaning of death; what takes
place at the moment of death.

Ecclesiastes chapter 12
and verse 7 speaks about

creation in reverse.

In other words, it speaks
about the phenomenon of death.

So what happens with the
body, including the brain,

when a person passes

Dust to dust and ashes to ashes,

as it is said
frequently at funerals.

And it says that the spirit,
which energizes the body,

the breath, it returns... What?

It returns to God.

Because God is
the Giver of what?

God is the Giver of life.

So basically, death is the
opposite of the process of life.

In death, the body
returns to the dust

had a photographic memory.

vitality than we have today.

In other words,
while his brain was active,

alive, his live history

when he died, what happened to

that life history?

his self identity

went to the grave.

of the record of his life?

biography that he had developed
