Let's seek the Lord in prayer. 00:00:33.72\00:00:35.26 Our wonderful, loving, heavenly Father, 00:00:37.03\00:00:39.23 thank You for the privilege of being here today. 00:00:40.44\00:00:43.09 We're going to study a very solemn subject, 00:00:44.29\00:00:47.47 the chronology of the judgment, 00:00:47.95\00:00:50.11 which will set the stage for understanding several of the 00:00:51.21\00:00:54.89 other lectures that we will have in the future. 00:00:54.92\00:00:57.17 And therefore, we plead for Your wisdom in a 00:00:57.93\00:01:01.59 special way this evening. 00:01:01.62\00:01:03.52 Help us to understand what we're studying. 00:01:04.18\00:01:06.57 And not only to understand it, but help us to be firm 00:01:07.25\00:01:11.09 and strong in the trying times ahead. 00:01:11.47\00:01:14.64 We thank You, Father, for the privilege of approaching 00:01:15.40\00:01:17.52 Your throne boldly in the name of Jesus. 00:01:17.55\00:01:21.82 And we thank You for hearing us. 00:01:22.35\00:01:24.11 Because we do come in that wonderful name, amen. 00:01:24.41\00:01:28.65 As I mentioned in my prayer, this evening we are going to 00:01:30.95\00:01:34.06 study the topic which is titled, The Chronology of the Judgment. 00:01:34.09\00:01:40.01 And I'd like to begin by mentioning what many of you 00:01:40.88\00:01:45.54 are probably acquainted with. 00:01:45.57\00:01:47.15 And that is the Apostles' Creed. 00:01:47.53\00:01:50.42 Now I must say that the Apostles' Creed 00:01:51.13\00:01:54.22 is not apostolic. 00:01:54.75\00:01:56.57 In other words, it came into existence several centuries 00:01:56.96\00:02:00.89 after the death of the apostles. 00:02:00.92\00:02:03.25 But I want to read one small section of the Apostles' Creed, 00:02:03.83\00:02:08.32 and then the rest of our study we're going to try 00:02:08.67\00:02:11.79 and deal with the issue of the judgment 00:02:11.99\00:02:14.47 that is mentioned in the Apostles' Creed. 00:02:14.50\00:02:17.56 This is what it says. 00:02:18.29\00:02:20.54 "Jesus," and I quote, "ascended to heaven, 00:02:20.84\00:02:25.33 sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, 00:02:26.03\00:02:31.30 from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead." 00:02:31.59\00:02:38.69 In other words, the Apostles' Creed, which I must repeat 00:02:39.55\00:02:42.24 is not apostolic, it was not written by the apostles, 00:02:42.27\00:02:46.35 states that when Jesus comes at His second coming, 00:02:46.69\00:02:51.29 He is going to judge the living and the dead. 00:02:51.49\00:02:56.15 Now my question is, is this statement really accurate? 00:02:57.08\00:03:03.62 Does the judgment really take place at the second coming 00:03:04.15\00:03:09.19 of Jesus Christ or does it take place before 00:03:09.22\00:03:15.61 Jesus comes to this earth? 00:03:15.64\00:03:19.33 Does this judgment take place in heaven or does the judgment 00:03:19.68\00:03:25.59 of the living and the dead take place on earth? 00:03:25.62\00:03:30.00 In other words the question is, does the judgment take place 00:03:30.50\00:03:33.83 before the second coming in heaven or at the 00:03:34.34\00:03:38.39 second coming on earth? 00:03:38.42\00:03:40.90 I believe that the answer to these questions is found 00:03:41.43\00:03:45.35 in a careful study of Daniel chapter 7. 00:03:45.38\00:03:49.88 And so I invite you to turn with me in your Bibles 00:03:50.20\00:03:53.06 to Daniel chapter 7, and we're going to move through this 00:03:53.09\00:03:58.02 chapter basically verse by verse. 00:03:58.05\00:04:02.09 Now let's begin with verses 1 to 3, 00:04:02.85\00:04:06.44 which actually is the introductory scene 00:04:06.77\00:04:10.58 to the vision of Daniel chapter 7. 00:04:10.78\00:04:14.83 And by the way, it gives us also the date. 00:04:15.40\00:04:19.51 It says there in Daniel chapter 7 verses 1 to 3... 00:04:19.96\00:04:22.99 Now he's going to tell us what this dream was. 00:04:41.75\00:04:45.64 Now let's stop there for a moment because we have 00:04:58.33\00:05:00.41 two symbols that we want to take a look at. 00:05:00.44\00:05:03.00 The first symbol is the four winds. 00:05:03.28\00:05:07.09 And the second symbol is the Great Sea. 00:05:07.54\00:05:11.27 Now what does the Bible mean when in prophecy 00:05:11.30\00:05:14.93 symbolically it refers to winds? 00:05:14.96\00:05:18.16 You know we talk about the winds of what? 00:05:18.58\00:05:21.20 The winds of war, the winds of strife. 00:05:21.43\00:05:24.89 In other words, winds represent wars. 00:05:24.99\00:05:28.54 They represent cataclysmic events; 00:05:28.84\00:05:32.06 nation rising against nation. 00:05:32.09\00:05:35.22 And you can notice this, for example, in Revelation 00:05:35.50\00:05:38.03 chapter 7 and verses 1 to 3 where the four angels 00:05:38.06\00:05:41.80 are holding what? 00:05:41.83\00:05:43.28 Are holding the four winds of strife. 00:05:43.64\00:05:45.97 And what happens when they release the winds? 00:05:46.00\00:05:48.99 Oh, there is a cataclysm in the world as a result of 00:05:49.31\00:05:54.05 releasing the four winds. 00:05:54.08\00:05:55.53 So the winds are winds of strife. 00:05:55.56\00:05:58.13 They represent wars and they represent conflicts 00:05:58.16\00:06:01.60 between nations. 00:06:01.63\00:06:03.48 Now the other symbol that we have in this introductory 00:06:03.68\00:06:06.58 passage is the sea. 00:06:06.61\00:06:08.94 Now it speaks about the Great Sea. 00:06:09.68\00:06:11.74 Now what is represented by the sea? 00:06:11.77\00:06:14.24 It says that the winds are beating up the waves of the sea. 00:06:14.27\00:06:18.71 Go with me to Isaiah chapter 17 and verses 12 and 13. 00:06:19.08\00:06:22.65 See, the Bible explains itself. 00:06:22.68\00:06:24.28 The Bible explains its own symbols. 00:06:24.69\00:06:27.18 When we find a symbol in Daniel, we go to other text in Scripture 00:06:27.21\00:06:30.96 that help us understand what that Symbol means. 00:06:30.99\00:06:33.94 Isaiah chapter 17 and verses 12 and 13. 00:06:34.36\00:06:39.27 Here, the prophet Isaiah says, "Woe to the multitude 00:06:40.30\00:06:44.43 of many people who make a noise like the roar of the..." What? 00:06:44.46\00:06:50.66 "...of the seas." 00:06:50.89\00:06:51.92 So what do the seas represent? 00:06:51.95\00:06:53.67 The multitude of many what? 00:06:54.07\00:06:56.01 Peoples. 00:06:56.18\00:06:57.29 And they make noise. 00:06:57.82\00:06:58.92 Let's continue reading. 00:06:58.95\00:07:00.19 "...and to the rushing of nations that make a rushing 00:07:00.22\00:07:04.84 like the rushing of..." What? 00:07:04.87\00:07:06.96 "... of many waters." 00:07:06.99\00:07:08.41 So what does the rushing of many waters represent? 00:07:08.44\00:07:11.44 The rushing of what? 00:07:11.47\00:07:13.18 Nations. 00:07:13.38\00:07:14.49 And then it says in verse 13, "The nations will rush like the 00:07:14.73\00:07:19.56 rushing of many waters; but God will rebuke them 00:07:19.59\00:07:23.67 and they will flee far away, and be chased like the chaff 00:07:23.70\00:07:27.67 of the mountains before the wind, like a rolling thing 00:07:27.70\00:07:31.11 before the whirlwind." 00:07:31.14\00:07:33.26 So what is represented by the sea? 00:07:33.29\00:07:35.81 Multitudes of what? 00:07:36.23\00:07:38.17 Multitudes of nations that are in turmoil, because the winds 00:07:38.20\00:07:42.99 are actually blowing the waves of the sea. 00:07:43.02\00:07:45.86 And the sea is rushing like the rush of many nations, 00:07:45.89\00:07:50.30 or many waters. 00:07:50.60\00:07:52.12 Now let's go in our study to verse 4. 00:07:52.78\00:07:56.89 Actually, verse 3. 00:07:57.10\00:07:58.58 It says there, "And four great beasts..." 00:07:59.02\00:08:03.69 What do beasts represent in prophecy? 00:08:03.77\00:08:06.37 Beasts represent nations or kingdoms. 00:08:06.92\00:08:10.60 We're going to notice that. 00:08:10.63\00:08:11.66 Daniel himself is going to explain it. 00:08:11.69\00:08:13.98 "And four great beasts came up from the..." What? 00:08:14.51\00:08:18.33 From the sea. 00:08:18.36\00:08:19.39 So these nations arise amidst what? 00:08:19.42\00:08:22.17 Amidst wars and turmoil. 00:08:22.47\00:08:25.18 And it continues saying... 00:08:25.49\00:08:27.25 So you have four beasts. 00:08:31.60\00:08:33.07 Now let's notice the first beast, the lion. 00:08:34.07\00:08:37.18 Daniel chapter 7 and verse 4. 00:08:37.54\00:08:40.05 The king of beasts, by the way. 00:08:44.60\00:08:46.71 Now what does the lion represent? 00:08:52.52\00:08:55.15 There's no doubt whatsoever that the lion represents the 00:08:55.18\00:08:58.06 same thing as the gold in the head of the image. 00:08:58.09\00:09:01.05 The lion represents the kingdom of Babylon. 00:09:01.08\00:09:03.87 We know that, not only because of the parallel with Daniel 2, 00:09:04.35\00:09:07.82 but we also know it because at the entrances to all of the 00:09:08.07\00:09:13.06 gates in the ancient city of Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar 00:09:13.09\00:09:16.11 there were sphinxes that were lions. 00:09:16.14\00:09:19.74 Furthermore, in Jeremiah chapter 4 verse 7, 00:09:20.21\00:09:23.60 which I'm not going to read but you can write it down. 00:09:23.63\00:09:25.52 Jeremiah 4 verse 7 compares Babylon's invasion of Judah 00:09:25.55\00:09:32.62 as the attack of a lion. 00:09:32.87\00:09:35.67 So in other words, Scripture as well as archeology 00:09:35.77\00:09:38.97 show that the lion is a symbol of Babylon. 00:09:39.00\00:09:43.60 Now what do the wings represent? 00:09:43.63\00:09:46.15 Well, the wings represent speed or swiftness of conquest. 00:09:46.74\00:09:52.79 But now I want you to notice what happens to this lion. 00:09:53.23\00:09:56.52 It continues saying there in the second part of verse 4... 00:09:56.87\00:10:00.05 Which means that it's no longer going to what? 00:10:05.36\00:10:07.90 It's no longer going to be a conquering power. 00:10:08.37\00:10:12.04 It's not going to be swift to conquest. 00:10:12.44\00:10:15.16 And then it continues saying... 00:10:15.51\00:10:16.82 What do you think a lion is like with a man's heart? 00:10:27.94\00:10:30.46 Have you ever heard of Richard, the lionhearted? 00:10:31.22\00:10:34.35 King of England? 00:10:34.95\00:10:36.02 Why was he called, the lionhearted? 00:10:36.22\00:10:38.34 Because he was a king that had a lot of what? 00:10:38.37\00:10:41.30 Courage. 00:10:41.58\00:10:42.68 Now I hate to bring this up, but have you ever watched 00:10:42.88\00:10:45.68 the Wizard of Oz? 00:10:45.71\00:10:47.20 What was the problem with the lion in the Wizard of Oz? 00:10:47.53\00:10:50.66 He was looking for what? 00:10:50.69\00:10:52.43 He was looking for courage, that's right. 00:10:52.63\00:10:55.02 And so basically this is telling us that at some point 00:10:55.05\00:10:58.05 this lion was going to cease the swiftness of its conquering 00:10:58.45\00:11:04.33 and it was actually eventually going to fall, 00:11:04.36\00:11:08.68 because it would lose its courage. 00:11:08.71\00:11:11.69 And then in Daniel chapter 7 and verse 5, we have a bear. 00:11:12.28\00:11:16.87 Let's read about the bear. 00:11:16.90\00:11:18.49 Now don't forget this detail, because we going to 00:11:24.17\00:11:26.43 come back to it in our lecture, in fact tomorrow evening. 00:11:26.46\00:11:31.06 In other words, one side of the bear was higher 00:11:39.50\00:11:43.45 than the other side of the bear. 00:11:43.65\00:11:45.89 And then it says, it had how many ribs? 00:11:46.44\00:11:49.47 It had three ribs. 00:11:49.50\00:11:51.91 Now this beast represents the second kingdom. 00:12:00.57\00:12:03.43 The same as the breast and arms of silver 00:12:03.46\00:12:06.87 in the image of Daniel chapter 2. 00:12:06.90\00:12:09.15 It's which kingdom? 00:12:09.18\00:12:10.93 It represents the kingdom of the Medes and Persians. 00:12:11.27\00:12:15.30 We're going to notice in our study tomorrow 00:12:15.40\00:12:17.36 that the kingdom of Medes and Persians 00:12:17.39\00:12:20.69 had one of the two kingdoms that was taller than the other, 00:12:20.72\00:12:24.15 and the strong one came up last. 00:12:24.18\00:12:27.02 That's why the bear is raised up on one side. 00:12:27.05\00:12:29.73 The three ribs represent the three kingdoms 00:12:30.12\00:12:34.56 that were conquered by Medo-Persia so that this 00:12:34.76\00:12:37.72 nation could ascend to power. 00:12:37.75\00:12:39.49 Let me mention what those three nations are. 00:12:39.52\00:12:41.71 The first is Lydia, which is found in ancient Turkey, 00:12:41.74\00:12:46.04 or Anatolia in Asia Minor. 00:12:46.07\00:12:48.11 This kingdom was conquered by Medo-Persia in the year 547 BC. 00:12:48.59\00:12:53.04 The second is the city of Babylon. 00:12:53.34\00:12:55.65 The story is told in Daniel chapter 5. 00:12:55.68\00:12:57.94 And Babylon was overcome in the year 539. 00:12:58.14\00:13:01.69 And the third nation or kingdom that was defeated by the 00:13:02.08\00:13:05.58 Medes and Persian so that they could ascend to power 00:13:05.61\00:13:08.24 was actually Egypt, which was conquered in the year 525. 00:13:08.27\00:13:13.49 So this fits precisely with what happened with the history 00:13:13.74\00:13:18.60 of the Medes and Persians. 00:13:18.63\00:13:19.67 And tomorrow evening we're going to give additional details 00:13:19.70\00:13:23.04 in the prophecy of Daniel chapter 8. 00:13:23.07\00:13:25.71 Now let's go to our third beast, the leopard. 00:13:26.01\00:13:29.17 Daniel chapter 7 and verse 6. 00:13:29.37\00:13:31.73 Daniel chapter 7 and verse 6. 00:13:32.03\00:13:34.36 Question, is a leopard a swift beast? 00:13:39.08\00:13:42.58 Absolutely. 00:13:42.80\00:13:43.83 But there's something else about this leopard. 00:13:43.86\00:13:46.31 Notice it says... 00:13:46.34\00:13:47.39 Was this beast a lot swifter to conquest than the lion 00:13:52.79\00:13:56.86 who had two wings? 00:13:56.89\00:13:58.05 Absolutely. 00:13:58.08\00:13:59.11 Now let me share this with you. 00:13:59.27\00:14:00.63 This beast represents the kingdom of Greece. 00:14:00.92\00:14:06.30 Who was the first king of the kingdom of Greece? 00:14:07.19\00:14:10.02 We'll study this more closely tomorrow. 00:14:10.05\00:14:12.30 Who was the first king? 00:14:12.33\00:14:13.61 The first king is very famous. 00:14:13.79\00:14:16.33 He's knows as Alexander the Great. 00:14:16.36\00:14:18.89 Do you know how long it took Alexander the Great 00:14:19.39\00:14:22.71 to conquer all of the Far East from Egypt all the way 00:14:22.74\00:14:28.10 to the Indus Valley in India? 00:14:28.13\00:14:31.41 It took Alexander the Great a period of only three years 00:14:31.44\00:14:36.58 to conquer the known world of that time. 00:14:36.61\00:14:39.59 I would say that was rather swift. 00:14:39.62\00:14:41.83 Now notice it had four wings of a bird. 00:14:42.32\00:14:46.04 Now tomorrow when we study Daniel chapter 8, 00:14:46.65\00:14:49.34 we're going to notice that another symbol is used 00:14:49.54\00:14:52.33 to represent Greece. 00:14:52.36\00:14:53.50 And that symbol is a goat. 00:14:53.53\00:14:55.82 And the Bible says that the goat is going so fast 00:14:56.51\00:15:00.43 that it doesn't even touch the ground. 00:15:00.46\00:15:02.21 In other words, that's another way of saying that this was a 00:15:02.83\00:15:06.73 nation that swiftly conquered everything that it found 00:15:06.76\00:15:11.35 in its way. 00:15:11.38\00:15:12.41 And then you'll notice the last part of the verse says... 00:15:12.61\00:15:15.13 We're going to notice in our study tomorrow 00:15:24.87\00:15:27.35 of Daniel chapter 8 that the kingdom of Greece, 00:15:27.38\00:15:31.20 when Alexander the Great died, was divided into precisely 00:15:31.23\00:15:36.43 four permanent kingdoms. 00:15:36.46\00:15:38.98 That is, until Rome came and overcame Greece. 00:15:39.01\00:15:41.81 So these four heads on the leopard represent the 00:15:42.01\00:15:45.65 four divisions of the kingdom of Greece 00:15:45.68\00:15:48.97 when Alexander the Great died. 00:15:49.00\00:15:51.92 Now I mentioned yesterday, we don't have to guess 00:15:52.73\00:15:55.03 at these three kingdoms. 00:15:55.06\00:15:56.11 We don't even have to go to history books. 00:15:56.14\00:15:57.69 Because the book of Daniel itself identifies 00:15:58.24\00:16:00.96 the first three kingdoms. 00:16:00.99\00:16:02.23 You see in Daniel chapter 2 God said to Nebuchadnezzar, 00:16:02.59\00:16:08.04 "You are this..." What? 00:16:08.07\00:16:09.61 "...this head of gold." 00:16:09.91\00:16:11.18 And then after him would arise another kingdom, 00:16:11.40\00:16:14.23 which we identified as which kingdom? 00:16:14.26\00:16:16.47 The Medes and Persians. 00:16:16.63\00:16:17.81 They are mentioned in Daniel chapter 5. 00:16:17.84\00:16:19.87 And the third kingdom, Daniel 8 refers to it by name 00:16:20.29\00:16:23.99 as Greece. 00:16:24.02\00:16:25.12 So there's no doubt whatsoever what the lion, the bear, 00:16:25.32\00:16:28.28 and the leopard represent, because the book of Daniel 00:16:28.31\00:16:30.52 itself tells us what these beasts represent. 00:16:30.55\00:16:35.37 But now let's notice the fourth beast. 00:16:35.59\00:16:38.22 It's found in Daniel chapter 7 and verse 7. 00:16:38.41\00:16:41.36 Remember the legs of iron? 00:16:41.39\00:16:43.07 This is parallel to the legs of iron. 00:16:43.45\00:16:45.54 Listen carefully. 00:16:45.57\00:16:46.60 Yeah, what kind of teeth? 00:17:04.08\00:17:05.14 Iron teeth. 00:17:06.01\00:17:07.07 So you have legs of iron and you have teeth of what? 00:17:07.10\00:17:10.33 Teeth of iron. 00:17:10.36\00:17:11.39 And this is the reason why the great historian 00:17:12.20\00:17:14.61 of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon 00:17:14.81\00:17:17.61 who wrote the famous series of historical books, 00:17:17.71\00:17:21.25 The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, 00:17:21.45\00:17:23.43 called the Roman Empire, "the iron monarchy of Rome." 00:17:23.46\00:17:32.00 And then the last part of verse 7 says... 00:17:32.45\00:17:34.73 "It was devouring..." 00:17:34.76\00:17:36.65 If you could see the way the Roman armies conquered 00:17:41.92\00:17:45.59 other nations, this is literally true. 00:17:45.62\00:17:47.60 They had iron weapons and they just mowed down 00:17:47.63\00:17:51.01 and trampled on everything they found in their way. 00:17:51.05\00:17:54.78 Now let's move on to Daniel chapter 7 and verse 7, 00:17:55.49\00:18:00.80 the last part of the verse. 00:18:00.83\00:18:02.61 It says this fourth beast, "was different from all the beasts 00:18:03.04\00:18:09.66 that were before it..." 00:18:09.86\00:18:10.95 And now notice carefully. 00:18:10.98\00:18:12.38 It had what? 00:18:12.41\00:18:14.40 It had ten horns. 00:18:14.70\00:18:16.08 Where did those ten horns rise from? 00:18:16.11\00:18:18.40 It must have been from the head of the fourth beast, right? 00:18:19.64\00:18:22.22 Are they on the head of the fourth beast? 00:18:22.40\00:18:24.18 Yes, so are they Roman in a certain sense? 00:18:24.48\00:18:27.18 If the fourth beast is Rome, and the horns are on the head 00:18:27.49\00:18:30.90 of the fourth beast, these horns must come from what? 00:18:30.93\00:18:35.13 From Rome, exactly. 00:18:35.71\00:18:37.39 Remember the feet of the image? 00:18:37.60\00:18:39.09 Did the feet of the image have iron? 00:18:39.32\00:18:41.09 What did the iron legs represent? 00:18:41.78\00:18:43.64 The Roman Empire. 00:18:44.03\00:18:45.23 Does Rome continue in the ten toes of the feet? 00:18:45.26\00:18:47.64 Yes. 00:18:47.68\00:18:48.71 Does Rome continue here in the ten horns that come from 00:18:48.74\00:18:51.67 the head that represents Rome? 00:18:51.70\00:18:53.76 Absolutely. 00:18:53.79\00:18:54.82 Now, I want you to notice what we find then 00:18:55.47\00:19:00.33 in Daniel chapter 7 and verse 7. 00:19:00.36\00:19:02.21 It says, once again, "It was different from all the beasts 00:19:02.24\00:19:05.25 that were before it, and it had ten horns." 00:19:05.28\00:19:08.44 Now what do those ten horns represent? 00:19:08.47\00:19:10.42 They represent the divisions of the Roman Empire 00:19:10.68\00:19:14.15 when the empire fell because of the barbarian invasions 00:19:14.18\00:19:18.15 from the northern sector of the empire. 00:19:18.18\00:19:19.87 I'm going to mention those nations. 00:19:19.90\00:19:21.39 We're going to come back to them later on in the seminar. 00:19:21.42\00:19:23.75 The names of those ten kingdoms are the Alamanni 00:19:23.90\00:19:26.90 where the Germans come from, the Franks, the Burgundians, 00:19:26.93\00:19:30.59 the Suevi, the Visigoths, the Saxons, that would be 00:19:30.79\00:19:34.83 Great Britain, the Lombards which would be Italy, 00:19:34.86\00:19:37.54 the Heruli, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths. 00:19:37.57\00:19:41.15 Allow me to read you just a statement that was 00:19:41.75\00:19:43.67 written by Jerome. 00:19:43.70\00:19:44.91 Do you know who Jerome was? 00:19:45.14\00:19:46.31 He lived in the fourth century. 00:19:46.34\00:19:47.91 He had a lot to do with the translation of the Vulgate, 00:19:49.00\00:19:52.19 the Latin Vulgate. 00:19:52.22\00:19:53.74 He was a great scholar in Greek and in Hebrew. 00:19:53.77\00:19:56.60 And he could see what was happening in the Roman Empire 00:19:56.96\00:20:00.09 in the fourth century. 00:20:00.12\00:20:01.15 Notice what he had to say. 00:20:01.18\00:20:02.42 Did he understand what the fourth kingdom was? Yes. 00:20:10.46\00:20:12.69 "At this time" is speaking about his time. 00:20:28.27\00:20:29.59 So when were the feet being fulfilled, according to Jerome? 00:20:33.97\00:20:36.71 In his time. 00:20:36.74\00:20:38.51 And he continues saying... 00:20:38.54\00:20:39.77 Was this being fulfilled in the days of Jerome? 00:20:55.15\00:20:57.33 Absolutely. 00:20:57.70\00:20:58.73 In fact, all of the church fathers believed that... 00:20:58.76\00:21:03.82 You remember that in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 00:21:03.85\00:21:06.39 the apostle Paul speaks about a power that was holding back 00:21:06.42\00:21:09.45 the manifestation of the man of sin? 00:21:09.48\00:21:11.47 All of the church fathers believed that the one that was 00:21:11.80\00:21:15.16 holding back, or as it says in the King James, "letting," 00:21:15.19\00:21:18.84 which means to hold back this antichrist from 00:21:18.87\00:21:22.03 manifesting itself, was the continued existence 00:21:22.23\00:21:25.31 of the Roman Empire. 00:21:25.34\00:21:26.37 And they believed that when the Roman Empire was 00:21:26.40\00:21:28.16 taken out of the way, the antichrist would be revealed. 00:21:28.19\00:21:31.72 And Jerome understood this very, very clearly. 00:21:32.22\00:21:35.06 Now let's go on to Daniel chapter 7 and verse 8. 00:21:36.05\00:21:39.16 Because we have the ten horns, just like we have ten toes 00:21:39.52\00:21:43.80 with iron in them. 00:21:43.83\00:21:44.98 But then what is added to the feet? 00:21:45.01\00:21:46.76 We studied this yesterday. 00:21:47.79\00:21:48.95 What is added to the feet? 00:21:48.98\00:21:50.32 Clay. 00:21:50.66\00:21:51.81 Is there something in Daniel 7 that is equivalent to the clay? 00:21:52.26\00:21:55.79 Absolutely. 00:21:56.09\00:21:57.12 Notice Daniel 7 and verse 8. 00:21:57.15\00:21:58.50 That is, the ten horns. 00:22:00.40\00:22:01.79 Where was the little horn going to arise? 00:22:11.61\00:22:13.65 In the Middle East, right? 00:22:14.29\00:22:15.59 Of course not. 00:22:16.54\00:22:17.61 It was going to rise among the ten. 00:22:17.88\00:22:19.66 If the ten are the western Roman Empire, 00:22:19.69\00:22:22.12 where was the little horn going to arise? 00:22:22.15\00:22:24.41 In western Europe. 00:22:24.44\00:22:25.73 Are you following me or not? 00:22:25.76\00:22:27.15 Now notice, it continues saying here 00:22:27.83\00:22:30.35 in Daniel chapter 7 and verse 8. 00:22:30.38\00:22:32.36 "I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, 00:22:32.39\00:22:34.63 a little one, coming up among them..." 00:22:34.66\00:22:36.52 And now notice... 00:22:36.97\00:22:38.00 What does that mean, "plucked out by the roots?" 00:22:44.00\00:22:46.29 It means that once they were plucked out, that was it. 00:22:47.02\00:22:51.82 In other words, they would cease to exist. 00:22:52.87\00:22:55.10 History proves that this is exactly what happened. 00:22:55.57\00:22:58.02 You see, three of those kingdoms of those 00:22:58.32\00:23:00.23 ten kingdoms were Arians. 00:23:00.26\00:23:02.21 In other words, they believed that Jesus was a created being. 00:23:02.24\00:23:05.71 And as a result, the bishop of Rome influenced 00:23:06.37\00:23:11.39 the power of the Roman state to fight against these 00:23:11.42\00:23:16.05 three kingdoms to eradicate them. 00:23:16.08\00:23:18.32 And they were eradicated. 00:23:18.35\00:23:20.13 In the year 493, the Heruli were uprooted from history. 00:23:20.43\00:23:25.17 No nation in Europe descends from them. 00:23:25.20\00:23:27.21 In 534, the Vandals were uprooted. 00:23:27.55\00:23:31.14 And in the year 538, the Ostrogoths were 00:23:31.41\00:23:35.29 conquered in Rome. 00:23:35.32\00:23:36.37 They suffered a terrible defeat. 00:23:36.40\00:23:38.38 In other words, exactly the way the prophecy said, 00:23:38.58\00:23:41.35 three of these ten kingdoms were uprooted. 00:23:41.55\00:23:44.23 And there is no nation in Europe that descends from these three. 00:23:44.26\00:23:48.30 Now let's continue reading here in verse 8. 00:23:49.29\00:23:52.27 "I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, 00:23:52.30\00:23:54.88 a little one, coming up among them, before whom three 00:23:54.91\00:23:59.36 of the first horns were plucked out by the roots." 00:23:59.39\00:24:03.47 And so up to verse 8, you have several kingdoms. 00:24:16.25\00:24:20.87 You have Babylon, Medo-Persian, Greece, the Roman Empire. 00:24:21.03\00:24:25.44 The Roman Empire is divided into ten kingdoms. 00:24:25.47\00:24:28.17 And then among those ten kingdoms rises 00:24:28.37\00:24:31.45 the little horn to power. 00:24:31.48\00:24:32.78 Now we're not told, up to verse 8, how long this 00:24:32.95\00:24:36.82 little horn was going to rule. 00:24:36.85\00:24:38.72 We have to go later on in the chapter to know how long 00:24:38.94\00:24:42.81 this little horn was going to rule before it fell. 00:24:42.84\00:24:46.81 Now I want you to notice what the next scene is. 00:24:47.26\00:24:50.67 See, this little horn is persecuting the saints, 00:24:50.90\00:24:53.70 he thinks he can change God's law, 00:24:53.73\00:24:55.76 he's trampling the truth to the ground. 00:24:55.79\00:24:59.00 And the Bible says that he's prospering, 00:24:59.20\00:25:00.85 everything is going well. 00:25:00.88\00:25:02.17 But now I want you to notice how this situation is taken care of. 00:25:03.17\00:25:07.83 The next scene, Daniel chapter 7 verses 9 and 10, speaks about 00:25:08.03\00:25:12.39 the judgment. 00:25:12.42\00:25:13.52 Notice... 00:25:13.55\00:25:14.58 Were the thrones there before? 00:25:18.92\00:25:20.91 No, because they're put in place. 00:25:21.76\00:25:23.72 Right? 00:25:23.75\00:25:24.78 Who is the Ancient of Days? 00:25:27.33\00:25:28.72 God the Father. 00:25:29.08\00:25:30.11 Was what? Seated. 00:25:30.14\00:25:32.09 Was He seated there before? 00:25:32.12\00:25:34.15 No. 00:25:36.42\00:25:37.45 At this point in the prophecy, He what? 00:25:37.48\00:25:39.73 He sits. 00:25:40.25\00:25:41.52 And now notice He is described. 00:25:41.55\00:25:43.48 Oh, so this was a throne that had what? 00:25:51.76\00:25:54.49 Wheels. It is a moveable throne. 00:25:54.82\00:25:56.97 It moved there from somewhere else. 00:25:57.00\00:25:59.58 Verse 10... 00:25:59.61\00:26:00.64 "The court was seated..." 00:26:11.97\00:26:14.34 That means that the judgment is going to what? 00:26:14.68\00:26:17.21 Begin. 00:26:17.61\00:26:18.73 Where is this judgment taking place? 00:26:22.55\00:26:24.41 This judgment is taking place in heaven. 00:26:25.35\00:26:27.02 That's where the angels are and that's where the 00:26:27.05\00:26:28.99 Ancient of Days is. 00:26:29.02\00:26:30.44 Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father, which art everywhere." 00:26:30.47\00:26:34.06 No, He said, "Our Father, which art..." Where? 00:26:34.94\00:26:38.05 "...which art in heaven." 00:26:38.08\00:26:39.27 The Ancient of Days is in heaven. 00:26:39.30\00:26:41.04 This scene, this judgment is taking place in heaven. 00:26:41.07\00:26:45.16 Now let's jump down to verses 13 and 14. 00:26:45.72\00:26:48.83 Verses 13 and 14. 00:26:49.17\00:26:50.96 Because the Father moves in this throne that has wheels 00:26:50.99\00:26:55.19 into this place, He sits down, but then somebody else 00:26:55.22\00:26:59.22 moves and joins Him there. 00:26:59.25\00:27:01.27 Notice verses 13 and 14. 00:27:01.79\00:27:04.52 Who is that? That's Jesus. 00:27:10.02\00:27:12.32 If He's coming, He must not have been there before, right? 00:27:16.02\00:27:18.12 Where would He be coming from? 00:27:19.28\00:27:20.50 If we're following the order of the Sanctuary, 00:27:20.53\00:27:22.39 where would He be coming from? 00:27:22.42\00:27:23.72 Not the earth, no. Of course not. 00:27:24.83\00:27:26.84 From the Holy Place. 00:27:29.25\00:27:30.59 Isn't that where Jesus has been ministering 00:27:30.87\00:27:33.13 since He ascended to heaven? 00:27:34.45\00:27:35.96 In the Holy Place? 00:27:35.99\00:27:37.11 So if He's moving, where is He moving from? 00:27:37.47\00:27:41.00 From the Holy. 00:27:41.48\00:27:42.51 And what is the next apartment? 00:27:42.54\00:27:44.40 The Most Holy. 00:27:44.60\00:27:45.71 And so it says, "I was watching in the night visions, 00:27:46.07\00:27:48.18 and behold, One like the Son of Man coming..." 00:27:48.21\00:27:51.71 Some people think, "See, the second coming." 00:27:52.07\00:27:53.73 Not the second coming. 00:27:53.76\00:27:54.83 Let's continue reading. 00:27:54.86\00:27:56.05 What are the clouds of heaven? 00:27:59.11\00:28:00.50 The angels. 00:28:01.15\00:28:02.28 And where is He coming to? 00:28:02.31\00:28:03.53 To the earth at His second coming? 00:28:03.56\00:28:05.72 No. 00:28:05.75\00:28:06.84 It says, "He came to..." Where? 00:28:06.87\00:28:09.38 "...to the Ancient of Days." 00:28:09.90\00:28:11.88 He's not coming to the earth here. 00:28:12.40\00:28:14.21 He's going to where His Father is going to 00:28:14.24\00:28:16.81 perform a work of what? 00:28:16.84\00:28:18.34 Judgment. 00:28:18.60\00:28:19.75 And so it says, "He came to the Ancient of Days 00:28:20.01\00:28:22.23 and they," that is the angels, the clouds, 00:28:22.26\00:28:24.87 "brought Him near before Him." 00:28:24.90\00:28:26.54 And what does He go there for? 00:28:26.57\00:28:28.04 Notice He goes there because the kingdom is going to be 00:28:29.00\00:28:32.11 taken away from the little horn and is going to be 00:28:32.14\00:28:34.39 given to whom? 00:28:34.42\00:28:35.45 To Him. 00:28:35.83\00:28:36.86 Do you remember our study yesterday? 00:28:37.44\00:28:40.63 What came after the ten toes and the clay? 00:28:40.66\00:28:43.70 There was a gigantic stone that what? 00:28:44.16\00:28:46.48 Hit the image and the stone became a mountain 00:28:46.77\00:28:50.22 that filled the whole earth. 00:28:50.25\00:28:51.32 And that's Christ's everlasting what? 00:28:51.35\00:28:53.42 Christ's everlasting kingdom. 00:28:53.73\00:28:55.37 And so it continues saying, "Then to Him was given 00:28:55.57\00:28:57.95 dominion and glory and a kingdom, 00:28:57.98\00:28:59.82 that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. 00:28:59.85\00:29:04.22 His dominion is an everlasting dominion..." 00:29:04.25\00:29:06.70 See, this is the climax of the vision of Daniel 2 as well. 00:29:06.73\00:29:09.91 "...which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one 00:29:09.94\00:29:13.79 which shall not be destroyed." 00:29:13.82\00:29:15.77 Does the judgment begin after the little horn 00:29:16.50\00:29:18.44 performs his evil work? 00:29:18.47\00:29:20.09 Yes. 00:29:21.05\00:29:22.08 Do we have an unbroken sequence? 00:29:22.11\00:29:23.86 Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, ten kingdoms, 00:29:24.12\00:29:27.25 little horn, judgment. 00:29:27.28\00:29:28.97 That's what I want us to see for now. 00:29:29.00\00:29:30.52 We still don't know how long the little horn rules. 00:29:30.82\00:29:33.25 But we're going to see that in a few moments. 00:29:33.28\00:29:35.08 Now, Daniel was grieved by this vision because he 00:29:35.28\00:29:38.88 didn't understand it. 00:29:38.91\00:29:40.00 So in Daniel chapter 7 and verses 15 through 18, 00:29:40.34\00:29:43.84 we find Daniel expressing his grief and asking Gabriel 00:29:44.17\00:29:49.54 to explain what this vision means. 00:29:49.57\00:29:52.36 Let's read beginning at verse 15. 00:29:52.39\00:29:54.87 And here comes a brief explanation. 00:30:17.39\00:30:19.85 But as we noticed yesterday, kings and kingdoms are what? 00:30:26.96\00:30:29.86 Interchangeable. 00:30:30.23\00:30:31.72 I'm going to prove that to you in a few moments 00:30:31.75\00:30:33.25 from Daniel chapter 7. 00:30:33.28\00:30:34.44 We already did it in Daniel chapter 2, remember? 00:30:34.47\00:30:37.23 God said to Nebuchadnezzar, "You are the head of gold." 00:30:37.26\00:30:39.72 But then He says, "After you will arise another kingdom." 00:30:39.92\00:30:42.24 So it's not only Nebuchadnezzar as a person, it's his kingdom. 00:30:43.22\00:30:46.36 We're going to notice the same thing here in Daniel chapter 7. 00:30:46.39\00:30:49.08 Now, let's notice what it continues saying. 00:30:49.57\00:30:53.14 How were the saints treated during the dominion 00:31:12.16\00:31:15.18 of the little horn? 00:31:15.21\00:31:16.31 The Bible says that they were what? 00:31:17.12\00:31:18.73 They were trampled upon and they were persecuted unjustly. 00:31:19.11\00:31:22.69 How is God going to solve that problem? 00:31:23.64\00:31:25.97 He's going to perform a work of what? 00:31:26.56\00:31:28.77 Of judgment. 00:31:29.29\00:31:30.37 And in that judgment, He's going to pronounce a judgment 00:31:30.40\00:31:32.99 against the little horn and in favor of whom? 00:31:33.02\00:31:36.01 And in favor of the saints that were persecuted 00:31:36.27\00:31:39.34 during the 1260 years, and also a group that will be 00:31:39.64\00:31:42.49 persecuted in the future. 00:31:42.52\00:31:43.74 Are you following me? 00:31:43.77\00:31:44.80 Now let's go to Daniel 7 verses 19 to 22. 00:31:45.35\00:31:48.35 See, there's something that Gabriel did not explain 00:31:48.55\00:31:51.09 that Daniel wanted to understand. 00:31:51.12\00:31:53.07 And so it says there in Daniel chapter 7 00:31:53.39\00:31:56.06 and verse 19... 00:31:56.09\00:31:57.58 Was that just? 00:32:35.51\00:32:36.64 No. Who was right? 00:32:37.73\00:32:39.22 Was the little horn right and the saints wrong, 00:32:39.25\00:32:41.60 or was it the other way around? 00:32:41.63\00:32:43.18 It was the other way around. 00:32:43.62\00:32:45.09 Did things have to be rectified? 00:32:45.12\00:32:47.13 Yes. 00:32:47.63\00:32:48.66 And God rectifies it by the judgment. 00:32:48.69\00:32:51.04 Now notice what it continues saying in verse 21. 00:32:51.07\00:32:53.23 And what did He come for? 00:33:05.40\00:33:06.58 He was seated and the book were what? 00:33:07.96\00:33:10.34 Opened. 00:33:10.37\00:33:11.40 Does the judgment rectify the wrong decisions 00:33:11.43\00:33:14.24 that were made on earth? 00:33:14.27\00:33:15.35 Absolutely. 00:33:15.50\00:33:16.53 Does it vindicate the saints and condemn the little horn? 00:33:16.56\00:33:19.75 Absolutely. Verse 22. 00:33:19.78\00:33:21.55 "...until the Ancient of Days came..." 00:33:21.58\00:33:23.74 If He came, He must not have been there before. 00:33:24.78\00:33:26.41 Hello. 00:33:26.44\00:33:27.48 "...and a judgment was made..." What? 00:33:28.15\00:33:31.27 "...in favor of the saints of the Most High..." 00:33:31.37\00:33:34.52 And notice that first the verdict is given. 00:33:34.73\00:33:37.49 And then it says, "...and the time came 00:33:38.12\00:33:41.06 for the saints to possess the kingdom." 00:33:41.09\00:33:43.01 Is there a difference between when the verdict is given 00:33:43.23\00:33:47.53 and when the verdict is implemented? 00:33:47.56\00:33:49.48 Absolutely, because it says here, "a judgment was made 00:33:49.84\00:33:52.97 in favor of the saints of the Most High." 00:33:53.00\00:33:54.81 That happens in heaven before the Ancient of Days 00:33:54.84\00:33:57.57 where the Son of Man is. 00:33:57.60\00:33:58.88 And then it says, "the time came for the saints..." 00:33:58.91\00:34:02.37 To what? "...to possess the kingdom." 00:34:02.40\00:34:04.26 Question, even in the world today, is the sentence 00:34:04.56\00:34:09.23 executed the same day that the sentence is pronounced? 00:34:09.26\00:34:12.65 No. 00:34:13.09\00:34:14.15 The sentence is given, and then after a time 00:34:14.18\00:34:16.84 the sentence is implemented, right? 00:34:16.87\00:34:19.02 Do you have an investigation of the evidence before 00:34:19.30\00:34:22.10 to see who's right and who's wrong? 00:34:22.13\00:34:23.74 Absolutely. 00:34:23.77\00:34:24.80 Do you suppose God is going to do an investigative judgment 00:34:24.99\00:34:27.65 in heaven before Jesus comes to execute the judgment 00:34:27.68\00:34:30.43 and give the reward? 00:34:30.46\00:34:31.56 Yes, because when Jesus comes, He says He brings 00:34:31.76\00:34:34.56 His reward with Him. 00:34:34.59\00:34:35.64 Which means He must have determined before 00:34:35.67\00:34:37.89 what that reward would be. 00:34:37.92\00:34:40.20 Are you with me? 00:34:40.65\00:34:41.68 Now let's go to Daniel chapter 7 and verses 23 to 25 00:34:41.90\00:34:47.20 where Gabriel gives a fuller explanation. 00:34:47.62\00:34:50.03 Because Daniel has said, "I want to know about 00:34:50.06\00:34:52.87 the fourth beast and I want to know about the ten horns. 00:34:52.90\00:34:55.43 I want to know about the little horn." 00:34:55.46\00:34:56.98 He says, "Gabriel, all you told me was that these four beasts 00:34:57.15\00:35:00.48 represent four kings. 00:35:00.51\00:35:01.58 Come on, I want to know more than that." 00:35:01.61\00:35:03.45 And so we find, beginning in verse 23, 00:35:04.20\00:35:07.71 a fuller explanation of the fourth beast, the ten horns, 00:35:07.74\00:35:10.27 and the little horn. 00:35:10.30\00:35:11.33 "Thus he said..." 00:35:12.17\00:35:13.42 I want you to notice that the fourth beast has 00:35:14.09\00:35:15.86 three stages of existence. 00:35:15.89\00:35:17.59 What kingdom is that? 00:35:22.81\00:35:23.99 Rome. 00:35:24.55\00:35:25.58 That's the first stage of the fourth beast. 00:35:32.10\00:35:33.88 Now there's a second stage. 00:35:33.91\00:35:35.26 Notice, does the fourth beast rule for a while 00:35:41.89\00:35:44.33 before it had the horns? 00:35:44.36\00:35:45.72 It sure does because it says that the ten horns 00:35:46.25\00:35:48.91 rise from the fourth beast. 00:35:48.94\00:35:50.21 So the fourth beast has to exist before the ten horns come out. 00:35:50.55\00:35:53.83 So it says... 00:35:54.62\00:35:55.65 And now notice the third stage. 00:36:00.34\00:36:02.15 Are you seeing the sequence? 00:36:06.57\00:36:07.95 The fourth beast by itself, the fourth beast with the ten horns, 00:36:09.00\00:36:12.61 and then the fourth beast with the little horn. 00:36:12.81\00:36:15.61 And so it says, "And another shall rise after them; 00:36:15.96\00:36:18.28 he shall be different from the first ones, 00:36:18.60\00:36:20.75 and shall subdue three kings." 00:36:20.78\00:36:22.42 And now notice what he would do. 00:36:22.74\00:36:23.89 "He shall speak..." What? 00:36:23.92\00:36:25.48 Revelation identifies those pompous words as blasphemy. 00:36:29.05\00:36:32.59 We're going to see that. 00:36:32.62\00:36:33.79 And what else was he going to do? 00:36:34.78\00:36:35.91 Whose law? 00:36:45.18\00:36:46.21 God's law. 00:36:47.16\00:36:48.24 Now let's take eight characteristics of this 00:36:56.64\00:36:59.21 little horn to see if we can identify who the little horn is. 00:36:59.24\00:37:02.10 We know what the fourth beast is, right? 00:37:02.13\00:37:04.02 It's the Roman Empire. 00:37:04.05\00:37:05.26 We know that the ten horns represent the fact that the 00:37:05.78\00:37:08.60 Roman Empire was what? 00:37:08.63\00:37:10.24 Divided into ten kingdoms. 00:37:10.45\00:37:12.36 And after this, it says a little horn rises among the ten. 00:37:12.63\00:37:16.30 So now we need to identify what power is being spoken of 00:37:16.33\00:37:20.51 in human history that is represented by the little horn. 00:37:20.61\00:37:23.89 I'm going to go through these characteristics quickly. 00:37:24.20\00:37:26.24 There are eight of them. 00:37:26.27\00:37:27.60 Recently, Emmanuel Beck went through these characteristics, 00:37:27.90\00:37:31.21 so I'm not going to dwell on them extensively. 00:37:31.24\00:37:33.37 First characteristic, the little horn rises from 00:37:33.96\00:37:37.63 the fourth beast, right? 00:37:37.66\00:37:39.06 Which means that it must be what? 00:37:39.54\00:37:42.65 It must be Roman. 00:37:43.37\00:37:44.79 Because it rises from the head of the fourth beast, 00:37:45.63\00:37:47.81 which represents what? 00:37:47.84\00:37:49.16 Rome. 00:37:49.60\00:37:50.63 First characteristic. 00:37:50.69\00:37:51.79 Second characteristic, and this is obvious. 00:37:51.82\00:37:55.00 If it rises from Rome, the second is quite obvious. 00:37:55.03\00:37:57.89 It actually rises among the ten horns. 00:37:58.40\00:38:02.13 What do the ten horns represent? 00:38:02.41\00:38:04.19 The nations of western Europe. 00:38:05.30\00:38:07.11 So where was it going to rise? 00:38:07.14\00:38:08.74 In the Middle East? 00:38:08.77\00:38:09.80 Was it going to arise in Asia? 00:38:10.54\00:38:12.77 No, it was going to rise where? 00:38:13.06\00:38:15.03 Where those ten kingdoms were. 00:38:15.23\00:38:16.73 Because it rises among them. 00:38:16.76\00:38:18.93 And of course, Rome is in western Europe. 00:38:18.96\00:38:21.68 Third characteristic, the Bible tells us that it would rise 00:38:22.29\00:38:26.47 after the ten horns. 00:38:26.50\00:38:28.16 Do you remember we read that? 00:38:28.19\00:38:29.22 After the ten horns are in place? 00:38:29.25\00:38:30.76 Do you know when the ten horns were fully in place? 00:38:30.96\00:38:33.30 In the year 476 AD. 00:38:33.54\00:38:35.61 You can look it up on the internet if you want. 00:38:35.64\00:38:37.60 On that date, the last emperor of the Roman Empire was deposed. 00:38:37.91\00:38:42.32 No more emperors of the western Roman Empire. 00:38:42.35\00:38:44.41 Is name was Rumulus Augustus. 00:38:44.60\00:38:47.38 After that, there was no law and order in the empire. 00:38:47.48\00:38:51.05 It was chaos because there was no central authority. 00:38:51.08\00:38:54.22 The barbarian kingdoms had carved up the empire 00:38:54.42\00:38:57.70 into ten kingdoms. 00:38:57.73\00:38:58.99 They were complete in the year 476. 00:38:59.02\00:39:02.32 So it would have to be a power that rose after the year 476. 00:39:02.35\00:39:06.97 It would have to pluck up, through the help of the state... 00:39:07.17\00:39:10.66 Because there's a union of iron and clay, 00:39:10.69\00:39:12.81 according to what we noticed. 00:39:12.84\00:39:14.09 It would have to pluck up three of the ten. 00:39:14.12\00:39:16.82 And that's exactly what happened. 00:39:17.09\00:39:18.79 The Heruli, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths 00:39:18.82\00:39:21.56 were uprooted by the political power, instigated by the church, 00:39:21.59\00:39:26.36 because these nations were Arian. 00:39:26.39\00:39:28.97 They believed that Jesus was created, and they did not 00:39:29.00\00:39:31.80 have the same teachings as the church. 00:39:31.83\00:39:33.79 So the church influenced the state to conquer these powers. 00:39:33.82\00:39:38.08 And there's no nation in Europe that actually 00:39:38.11\00:39:40.79 descends from them. 00:39:40.82\00:39:42.04 Another characteristic is that this little horn 00:39:42.45\00:39:44.81 would speak great words against the Most High. 00:39:44.84\00:39:47.50 Revelation identifies these great words as blasphemy. 00:39:47.53\00:39:51.68 Now the question is, what is blasphemy? 00:39:52.15\00:39:54.05 You know, some people think blasphemy is an individual 00:39:54.08\00:39:56.40 who raises his fist and curses God, 00:39:56.43\00:39:58.43 you know, because he's an atheist. 00:39:58.46\00:39:59.97 That's not the biblical definition of blasphemy. 00:40:00.26\00:40:02.75 You can be a religious person and blaspheme. 00:40:02.95\00:40:06.24 What is blasphemy? 00:40:06.75\00:40:07.88 Two things, according to the biblical definition. 00:40:07.91\00:40:10.35 John 10 verse 33, Jesus had just said, "I and My Father are one." 00:40:10.38\00:40:15.47 The Jews picked up stones to stone Him. 00:40:15.50\00:40:17.65 And notice what we find in John 10:33. 00:40:17.89\00:40:20.68 Jesus says, "Are you going to stone Me? 00:40:21.01\00:40:22.55 What are you stoning Me for?" 00:40:22.59\00:40:23.78 "The Jews answered Him saying, 'For a good work 00:40:24.23\00:40:26.89 we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, 00:40:26.92\00:40:31.22 being a Man, make Yourself God.'" 00:40:31.25\00:40:33.64 So any man who claims to be God on earth 00:40:34.13\00:40:37.07 is committing blasphemy. 00:40:38.38\00:40:40.77 There's another definition of blasphemy. 00:40:40.80\00:40:42.54 It's related to this first one. 00:40:42.57\00:40:44.26 Mark chapter 2 and verse 7. 00:40:44.82\00:40:46.36 Jesus had just said to a paralytic, 00:40:46.95\00:40:49.36 "Your sins are forgiven." 00:40:49.39\00:40:50.93 And the Jews got mad again. 00:40:50.96\00:40:52.81 And notice what they said in Mark 2 verse 7. 00:40:53.01\00:40:56.27 "Why does this Man speak..." What? 00:40:56.30\00:40:59.06 "...blasphemies like this? 00:40:59.46\00:41:01.43 Who can forgive sins but God alone?" 00:41:01.46\00:41:05.81 So it would have to be a power that claims to have 00:41:05.84\00:41:09.65 God's representative on earth and that claims that it has the 00:41:09.68\00:41:13.16 power to what? 00:41:13.19\00:41:14.32 The power to forgive sins. 00:41:14.64\00:41:17.41 Are you starting to catch a picture of what this power is? 00:41:17.74\00:41:20.32 Let's go through the characteristics. 00:41:21.08\00:41:22.56 It has to be Roman. 00:41:22.84\00:41:24.23 It has to rise in western Europe, obviously. 00:41:24.70\00:41:27.37 It has to rise to power after the year 476. 00:41:27.62\00:41:31.60 It had to use the state to pluck up three of the ten kingdoms 00:41:32.27\00:41:35.92 for being heretical. 00:41:35.95\00:41:38.09 It had to claim to have God's representative on earth 00:41:38.73\00:41:41.87 and claim to have the power to forgive sins. 00:41:41.90\00:41:44.66 What power are we talking about here? 00:41:45.02\00:41:46.76 There's no doubt whatsoever we're talking about the 00:41:47.25\00:41:49.25 Roman Catholic Papacy. 00:41:49.28\00:41:50.68 And by the way, this idea of saying that they can 00:41:50.71\00:41:54.24 forgive sins and that the pope is God's representative on earth 00:41:54.27\00:41:57.16 is only the tip of the iceberg. 00:41:57.19\00:41:58.71 Because let me mention some other things 00:41:59.40\00:42:01.33 that show that the papacy claims that they have 00:42:01.36\00:42:03.71 God's representative on earth. 00:42:03.74\00:42:05.02 Does the papacy claim to have the right to set up 00:42:05.85\00:42:08.29 and remove kings? 00:42:08.32\00:42:09.65 Just look at the history of the Middle Ages. 00:42:10.19\00:42:11.77 They say, "We have the right to set up kings 00:42:11.80\00:42:13.65 and to remove kings." 00:42:13.68\00:42:15.02 Who does that prerogative belong to, according to Scripture? 00:42:15.47\00:42:19.70 It belongs to God. 00:42:19.92\00:42:21.45 Furthermore, this power encourages people to 00:42:21.96\00:42:26.23 bow down before its leader, before the pope. 00:42:26.26\00:42:29.95 Man, even an angel would not allow John to bow before him. 00:42:30.75\00:42:34.88 And this man demands that anyone who comes into his 00:42:35.10\00:42:37.74 presence should bow. 00:42:37.77\00:42:39.08 Furthermore, he encourages people to call him, 00:42:39.11\00:42:41.93 "holy father," when Jesus said that only 00:42:41.96\00:42:45.14 one you should call Father. 00:42:45.17\00:42:46.39 And he's not talking about our earthly fathers. 00:42:46.42\00:42:47.90 He's talking about calling someone our spiritual Father. 00:42:47.93\00:42:50.63 And yet this individual claims to have the right 00:42:50.83\00:42:53.67 to be called, "the holy father." 00:42:53.70\00:42:55.32 Furthermore, during the Middle Ages he claimed to have 00:42:55.54\00:42:57.79 the right to execute the death penalty. 00:42:57.82\00:42:59.74 Who is the only one who would have the right to do that? 00:43:00.99\00:43:03.47 God, the giver of life. 00:43:03.91\00:43:05.47 Furthermore, he claims to have changed God's law. 00:43:05.50\00:43:07.69 Who would be the only one who could change God's law? 00:43:07.72\00:43:09.92 God Himself. 00:43:10.31\00:43:11.39 Furthermore, he claimed to be a supreme judge 00:43:12.23\00:43:14.93 in things in heaven, earth, and in hell. 00:43:14.96\00:43:17.71 I have quotations that I could read you where this is true. 00:43:17.84\00:43:21.07 And furthermore, this is a power that claims 00:43:21.10\00:43:24.21 to have the infallible ability to teach in faith and morals. 00:43:24.24\00:43:29.39 They claim that the pope is infallible. 00:43:29.42\00:43:31.64 The Bible says that only one is infallible. 00:43:31.67\00:43:34.47 And that is whom? 00:43:34.50\00:43:35.66 That is God. 00:43:35.97\00:43:37.41 So just saying that he's God on earth and claiming to have the 00:43:39.21\00:43:42.10 power to forgive sins is only the tip of the iceberg. 00:43:42.13\00:43:44.69 There's all types of other characteristics 00:43:44.72\00:43:47.11 that show that this power blasphemed against God. 00:43:47.14\00:43:50.70 Characteristic number six, this power was a persecuting power. 00:43:52.73\00:43:55.93 Persecuted God's faithful people. 00:43:56.32\00:43:58.16 Have you ever heard of the Holy Office of the Inquisition? 00:43:58.57\00:44:01.51 There was nothing holy about it. 00:44:01.54\00:44:03.29 And you know, John Paul II offered an apology 00:44:04.38\00:44:06.85 several years ago. 00:44:06.88\00:44:07.91 I think it was in 1998. 00:44:07.94\00:44:09.50 He took months to draft it, very carefully chosen words. 00:44:09.70\00:44:14.16 And he actually said that the church apologized for a few 00:44:14.39\00:44:20.06 misguided individuals who were involved in persecution. 00:44:20.09\00:44:23.90 But the Inquisition was not some misguided individuals. 00:44:24.75\00:44:28.11 It was established and used by the church. 00:44:28.14\00:44:32.13 And it was established by the papacy. 00:44:32.64\00:44:35.01 Characteristic number seven, this power claims to have 00:44:36.46\00:44:39.43 been able to change God's holy law. 00:44:39.46\00:44:41.51 Does the papacy claim to have changed God's holy law? 00:44:42.09\00:44:44.52 It most certainly does. 00:44:44.96\00:44:46.21 I have about 12 pages of quotations. 00:44:46.24\00:44:48.54 By the way, if anybody is interested, 00:44:48.57\00:44:50.05 I'm synthesizing 132 pages tonight. 00:44:50.08\00:44:53.12 Size 10 type. 00:44:54.35\00:44:55.91 It's on our website, secretsunsealed.org 00:44:56.79\00:44:59.64 You can download it. 00:44:59.67\00:45:00.70 I have 12 pages of quotations from different 00:45:00.73\00:45:03.35 Roman Catholic scholars, priests, popes, that say 00:45:03.38\00:45:06.34 "We changed the Sabbath to Sunday by the authority that 00:45:06.37\00:45:09.01 Christ gave to us." 00:45:09.04\00:45:10.26 Furthermore, they extracted the second commandment 00:45:11.25\00:45:14.24 from the catechism that says don't worship images, 00:45:14.54\00:45:17.61 and they split the tenth commandment in two; 00:45:17.98\00:45:20.25 don't covet your neighbor's things and don't covet 00:45:20.28\00:45:23.43 your neighbor's wife. 00:45:23.46\00:45:24.49 Because if you take out one, you have to divide 00:45:24.52\00:45:26.63 number ten in two. 00:45:26.66\00:45:27.92 So this power claims to have changed God's holy law. 00:45:28.96\00:45:32.58 And how long was it going to rule? 00:45:32.61\00:45:34.40 It was going to rule, according to what we read, 00:45:34.96\00:45:37.30 time, times, and what? 00:45:37.33\00:45:39.93 And half a time. 00:45:40.14\00:45:41.21 How long is that? 00:45:41.59\00:45:42.73 It is three and a half years. 00:45:44.03\00:45:46.29 But in prophecy, a day is equivalent to what? 00:45:46.32\00:45:51.02 To a year. 00:45:51.38\00:45:52.43 And so you multiply three and a half times 360 days 00:45:52.80\00:45:56.58 for each year, and the result is what? 00:45:56.61\00:45:58.95 1260 years. 00:45:59.15\00:46:04.16 This is the amazing thing. 00:46:05.70\00:46:07.13 The last of the three opposing horns was uprooted in 538 00:46:07.74\00:46:11.85 when the Ostrogoths were severely defeated and 00:46:11.88\00:46:14.74 expelled from Rome. 00:46:14.77\00:46:16.04 And it was in February of 538. 00:46:17.40\00:46:20.42 We know the month, we don't know the exact date. 00:46:20.62\00:46:23.12 1798, February 12, we do know the date in 1798, 00:46:23.73\00:46:31.11 the general of Napoleons armies, General Berthier, 00:46:32.51\00:46:36.26 entered Rome and he arrested the pope. 00:46:37.03\00:46:40.37 He was deposed, he was taken captive to France 00:46:40.94\00:46:44.98 where he died in exile. 00:46:45.01\00:46:47.03 And every nation in Europe after that began withdrawing 00:46:47.66\00:46:51.13 their support from the papacy. 00:46:51.16\00:46:52.78 None of them raised one finger to help the papacy 00:46:52.81\00:46:55.25 when the deadly wound was given. 00:46:55.28\00:46:56.62 Not one. 00:46:56.65\00:46:57.72 During the Middle Ages, all of the nations would have 00:46:58.08\00:47:00.37 risen to defend the papacy. 00:47:00.40\00:47:02.17 Now none of them wanted anything to do with the papacy. 00:47:02.20\00:47:04.96 And now you have a proliferation of democratic governments 00:47:04.99\00:47:08.09 after 1798. 00:47:08.12\00:47:09.89 So what power is being spoken of here? 00:47:11.57\00:47:13.99 This power is no doubt the Roman Catholic Papacy. 00:47:14.98\00:47:20.05 Now let's go to Daniel chapter 7 verses 26 and 27. 00:47:20.29\00:47:24.50 Daniel 7:26-27 00:47:24.82\00:47:27.52 After speaking about the deplorable work 00:47:27.55\00:47:29.48 of the little horn, it says... 00:47:29.51\00:47:31.05 What is the purpose of that judgment? 00:47:37.12\00:47:38.65 To take away who's dominion? 00:47:38.68\00:47:40.23 The little horns dominion. 00:47:40.68\00:47:42.25 Are the tables going to be turned? 00:48:02.66\00:48:04.15 Yes, the verdict is pronounced in heaven. 00:48:04.72\00:48:07.52 But the verdict is actually implemented when Jesus 00:48:08.83\00:48:12.23 establishes His kingdom and He gives His kingdom 00:48:12.26\00:48:15.73 to the saints of the Most High. 00:48:15.76\00:48:17.89 Now we need to look at the perspective of Revelation. 00:48:18.64\00:48:21.08 We don't have much time to do this, but let's see how it goes. 00:48:21.11\00:48:24.11 Revelation chapter 12 and verses 1 through 5. 00:48:24.77\00:48:27.39 See, Revelation and Daniel go together. 00:48:27.42\00:48:30.10 Revelation 12 verses 1 through 5. 00:48:30.42\00:48:32.11 I'm going to read it quickly. 00:48:32.14\00:48:33.34 Do we have a dragon-like beast in Daniel 7? 00:48:52.25\00:48:54.85 Yes, does it have ten horns? 00:48:55.28\00:48:56.77 Absolutely. Now notice... 00:48:57.06\00:48:58.66 Who was that Child? 00:49:11.49\00:49:12.52 Jesus. 00:49:13.31\00:49:14.48 Did the devil stand next to Mary when Jesus was going to be born 00:49:14.51\00:49:17.93 with a pitchfork in his hand and his tail sticking out 00:49:17.96\00:49:20.59 and horns coming out of his head? 00:49:20.62\00:49:22.18 Of course not. 00:49:22.21\00:49:23.24 How did the devil seek to accomplish his purpose? 00:49:23.96\00:49:26.76 It wasn't personally. It was through what? 00:49:27.60\00:49:29.83 Through a ruler of the Roman Empire. 00:49:30.03\00:49:31.90 What was his name? 00:49:31.93\00:49:32.96 Herod. 00:49:33.34\00:49:34.37 Now let's continue. 00:49:34.40\00:49:35.51 Notice once again the last part of verse 4. 00:49:35.54\00:49:38.44 "And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready 00:49:38.47\00:49:40.60 to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 00:49:40.63\00:49:42.99 She bore a..." What? 00:49:43.19\00:49:44.62 Remember that, "...a male Child..." 00:49:44.65\00:49:47.31 What event is that referring to? 00:49:53.12\00:49:55.11 It's referring to the ascension of Jesus Christ. 00:49:55.32\00:49:57.40 So we have in this passage the birth of 00:49:57.43\00:49:59.41 Jesus and His ascension. 00:49:59.44\00:50:00.69 What empire was ruling during that period? 00:50:00.72\00:50:03.20 The Roman Empire. 00:50:03.79\00:50:04.91 So what is the fourth beast, what is this dragon beast? 00:50:04.94\00:50:07.81 Clearly, it represents what? 00:50:08.01\00:50:10.37 The fourth beast is Rome. 00:50:10.40\00:50:12.42 Go with me to Matthew chapter 2 and verses 16 and 17. 00:50:12.45\00:50:16.41 Matthew chapter 2 and verses 16 and 17. 00:50:16.69\00:50:20.64 This is how Jesus was... 00:50:21.42\00:50:23.87 Well, this is the way the devil tried to kill Jesus. 00:50:25.17\00:50:28.13 Notice... 00:50:28.16\00:50:29.19 "Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, 00:50:29.27\00:50:32.70 was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death 00:50:32.73\00:50:38.19 all the..." What? 00:50:38.22\00:50:39.64 "...male children..." 00:50:40.12\00:50:41.15 What did we read in Revelation 12? 00:50:41.18\00:50:42.97 She bore a what? 00:50:43.16\00:50:44.69 A male child. 00:50:44.93\00:50:46.02 What does this say? 00:50:46.05\00:50:47.10 He had "all of the male children who were in 00:50:47.28\00:50:49.55 Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old 00:50:49.58\00:50:51.92 and under, according to the time which he had determined 00:50:51.95\00:50:54.95 from the wise men." 00:50:54.98\00:50:56.01 So, through whom does the devil try to slay 00:50:56.10\00:50:59.05 the Child that is born? 00:50:59.08\00:51:00.37 Through Herod, who is a ruler of what? 00:51:00.57\00:51:03.86 Of Rome. 00:51:04.16\00:51:05.19 Now let's go to Revelation 13 verses 1 and 2. 00:51:05.35\00:51:07.80 Revelation 13:1-2 00:51:07.83\00:51:09.51 Very important historical reference point. 00:51:09.54\00:51:11.62 "Then I stood on the sand of the sea. 00:51:11.65\00:51:13.32 And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea..." 00:51:13.35\00:51:15.35 Verse 2 is key. 00:51:21.51\00:51:22.81 How many beasts are mentioned here is this verse, verse 2? 00:51:32.33\00:51:35.10 Is there a leopard? 00:51:36.70\00:51:37.79 Is there a bear? 00:51:38.82\00:51:39.94 Is there a lion? 00:51:40.98\00:51:42.22 Is there a dragon beast? 00:51:43.07\00:51:44.56 Are these the same four beasts that we found 00:51:44.94\00:51:46.63 in Daniel chapter 7? 00:51:46.66\00:51:47.96 Yes, and we don't have a lot of time, but let me tell you this. 00:51:47.99\00:51:51.09 If you look at the order of the beasts in Daniel chapter 7, 00:51:51.12\00:51:54.17 it's lion, bear, leopard, dragon. 00:51:54.20\00:51:56.17 But in Revelation chapter 13, it's dragon, leopard, 00:51:56.20\00:51:59.80 bear, lion. 00:51:59.83\00:52:01.18 Do you know why? 00:52:01.21\00:52:02.24 Because Daniel is living in the time of the lion 00:52:02.27\00:52:05.23 and he's looking forward, whereas John is living in the 00:52:05.26\00:52:08.27 time of the dragon and he's looking backwards. 00:52:08.30\00:52:10.48 Very important reference point. 00:52:11.77\00:52:13.60 So you notice you have a lion, a bear, a leopard, a dragon. 00:52:14.13\00:52:18.58 How many horns does the dragon have? 00:52:18.61\00:52:19.97 We already noticed this. 00:52:20.00\00:52:21.08 It had ten horns. 00:52:21.11\00:52:22.14 And then the ten horned dragon gives its what? 00:52:22.17\00:52:25.08 His power, his throne, and great authority to the beast. 00:52:25.11\00:52:28.48 Just like the fourth beast gave its power to the little horn. 00:52:29.22\00:52:32.16 In other words, the beast is the same as the little horn. 00:52:32.65\00:52:35.60 Let me prove it to you, Revelation 13 00:52:35.63\00:52:37.48 verse 5 and verse 7. 00:52:37.58\00:52:39.90 You're going to see that the beast of Revelation 13 00:52:39.93\00:52:42.31 does the same thing as the little horn in Daniel 7. 00:52:42.34\00:52:44.97 It says... 00:52:45.27\00:52:46.31 Is that what the little horn did? 00:52:49.34\00:52:50.76 Absolutely. 00:52:50.86\00:52:51.89 Is that the same time period? 00:52:54.69\00:52:56.12 Of course. 00:52:56.40\00:52:57.43 If the year has 360 days, how many days does the month have? 00:52:57.82\00:53:03.16 Thirty. 00:53:03.46\00:53:04.49 Now you multiply 30 days times 42 months. 00:53:04.52\00:53:08.04 What is the result? 1260. 00:53:08.07\00:53:11.02 It's a different way of explaining the same time period. 00:53:11.05\00:53:13.83 So it says... 00:53:13.86\00:53:14.89 "It was granted to him to make war with the saints..." 00:53:20.14\00:53:22.69 Did the little horn do that? 00:53:22.81\00:53:24.06 "...and overcome them..." 00:53:24.67\00:53:25.88 Did the little horn do that? 00:53:25.91\00:53:27.10 Absolutely. 00:53:27.13\00:53:28.18 Is the beast the same as the little horn? 00:53:34.52\00:53:36.23 You see the same sequence, the same identical sequence. 00:53:36.93\00:53:39.75 Now there's something that I want us to notice. 00:53:40.44\00:53:42.22 This will introduce tomorrow's subject. 00:53:42.25\00:53:43.91 Revelation 13 verse 6. 00:53:43.94\00:53:45.74 We're not going to comment on it tonight, 00:53:45.77\00:53:47.17 but I want you to see. 00:53:47.20\00:53:48.30 Speaking about this beast, it says... 00:53:49.69\00:53:51.11 Tomorrow we're going to study Daniel 8. 00:54:04.20\00:54:05.79 And we're going to find the little horn trampling 00:54:06.36\00:54:09.30 on the Sanctuary. 00:54:09.33\00:54:10.78 Revelation 13 has that detail. 00:54:11.63\00:54:13.59 We haven't studied it tonight, but we're going to study it, 00:54:13.62\00:54:15.52 Lord willing, tomorrow night. 00:54:15.55\00:54:16.68 Now let's go to Revelation 14:6 and 7. 00:54:17.12\00:54:19.88 We've already found the lion, the bear, the leopard, 00:54:20.28\00:54:23.60 the dragon, the ten horns, the beast that rules 42 months. 00:54:23.63\00:54:27.41 Would you expect that there would be a judgment after this? 00:54:28.02\00:54:30.48 Absolutely. 00:54:30.92\00:54:31.95 Notice Revelation 14 verses 6 and 7. 00:54:31.98\00:54:34.25 By the way, when this message is being given, 00:54:45.67\00:54:47.34 can people still be saved? 00:54:47.37\00:54:48.70 Or has Jesus come already? 00:54:49.41\00:54:50.96 That's a dumb question. 00:54:51.42\00:54:52.64 Why would you preach the gospel if Jesus already came. 00:54:53.11\00:54:55.28 So is the door of mercy open at this point? 00:54:57.23\00:55:00.64 Yeah, because the gospel is being what? Preached. 00:55:00.74\00:55:02.97 Now notice, very important, verse 7. 00:55:03.00\00:55:05.86 That in Greek is called an aorist. 00:55:16.00\00:55:18.72 It is a punctual past. 00:55:19.24\00:55:21.37 In other words, when this first angel is proclaiming 00:55:21.90\00:55:24.35 his message, "Fear God, and give glory to Him, 00:55:24.38\00:55:26.85 for the hour of His judgment has come," 00:55:26.88\00:55:29.55 the judgment begins while the gospel is being what? 00:55:29.75\00:55:33.27 While the gospel is being preached. 00:55:33.75\00:55:36.53 And then it says, "And worship Him who made heaven 00:55:37.87\00:55:40.10 and earth, the sea and springs of water." 00:55:40.13\00:55:42.40 Now the question is, does the judgment begin 00:55:42.43\00:55:44.56 before Jesus comes? 00:55:44.59\00:55:45.69 Absolutely, because the hour of God's judgment comes 00:55:46.45\00:55:50.30 while the everlasting gospel is being preached. 00:55:50.33\00:55:52.58 You see that point? 00:55:52.93\00:55:54.01 Furthermore, listen up to what I'm going to say. 00:55:54.45\00:55:56.34 After the first angel's message where it says, 00:55:58.16\00:56:00.06 "the hour of His judgment has come," 00:56:00.09\00:56:01.45 you have a second message calling God's people to 00:56:01.48\00:56:03.25 come out of Babylon. 00:56:03.28\00:56:04.66 That can't take place after the second coming of Jesus, 00:56:04.90\00:56:07.15 or at the second coming. 00:56:07.18\00:56:08.40 And then the third message says, beware of the beast 00:56:08.93\00:56:11.32 and his image and his mark. 00:56:11.35\00:56:12.64 Is the door of probation still open when the people are 00:56:13.69\00:56:17.60 being warned about the mark of the beast? 00:56:17.63\00:56:19.36 Absolutely. 00:56:19.65\00:56:20.70 And only after these three messages are proclaimed 00:56:20.74\00:56:23.78 do you see Jesus, in Revelation 14:14, 00:56:24.66\00:56:27.35 seated on a cloud coming back to the earth. 00:56:27.38\00:56:30.52 So the judgment begins after 1798, after the work 00:56:31.48\00:56:36.42 of the little horn, but it takes place in heaven 00:56:36.45\00:56:39.65 before the second coming of Jesus Christ. 00:56:39.68\00:56:43.35 Now let's review what we studied very briefly. 00:56:43.80\00:56:45.89 We have Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, the Roman Empire, 00:56:45.92\00:56:50.57 Rome divided, the little horn, which is the papacy. 00:56:50.95\00:56:54.92 And then after the little horn rules 1260 years, 00:56:55.12\00:56:59.00 you have what? 00:56:59.03\00:57:00.32 You have the judgment that takes place in heaven. 00:57:00.90\00:57:03.94 And then eventually the time comes when God's people 00:57:03.97\00:57:08.31 will inherit what? 00:57:08.34\00:57:09.93 The kingdom, based on the verdict that was reached 00:57:09.96\00:57:13.25 in the judgment that took place in heaven. 00:57:13.99\00:57:17.05 Now can we know the specific date when that judgment began? 00:57:17.80\00:57:21.66 Well, don't miss the next exciting episode. 00:57:22.27\00:57:25.20 Tomorrow night, we will give the exact date 00:57:26.00\00:57:28.13 of the beginning of the judgment. 00:57:28.16\00:57:29.72
