Hi and welcome back to His Words Are Life. 00:00:15.39\00:00:17.47 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you 00:00:17.57\00:00:18.96 for being with me again. 00:00:19.06\00:00:20.85 You know, David wrote that... 00:00:21.05\00:00:22.33 he wrote about the Word. 00:00:22.43\00:00:23.49 He said: "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet 00:00:23.59\00:00:25.32 and a light unto my path. " 00:00:25.42\00:00:26.64 In the very first verse that we are going to start off reading 00:00:26.84\00:00:29.35 it says much that same thing: 00:00:29.45\00:00:30.84 that those who keep the Word of God walk in safety 00:00:30.94\00:00:34.14 and dwell in safety. 00:00:34.24\00:00:35.70 Before we start reading, let's pray together. 00:00:35.90\00:00:38.01 Dear Jesus, thank you so much 00:00:38.21\00:00:40.53 that You did not leave us here to find our way on our own 00:00:40.63\00:00:44.44 but You sent us a guidebook, a map. 00:00:44.54\00:00:47.49 You sent us statutes and laws and principles 00:00:47.59\00:00:50.78 that teach us how to serve You, how to serve each other, 00:00:50.88\00:00:55.77 how to live in safety and peace. 00:00:55.97\00:00:58.42 We can't... there's nothing good in any of us. 00:00:58.62\00:01:01.56 We can't even desire to obey these statutes 00:01:01.67\00:01:04.54 except that You put that desire in us. 00:01:04.75\00:01:06.68 So as we read Your words, please give us the will to do 00:01:06.88\00:01:10.63 and to hear... and then to carry out all that we read 00:01:10.73\00:01:14.79 and learn from You. 00:01:14.89\00:01:16.00 We love You so much; thank you for loving us. Amen. 00:01:16.20\00:01:19.11 We are reading in the book of Leviticus, 00:01:19.31\00:01:21.59 and we are on chapter 25. 00:01:21.69\00:01:23.54 When we were last together we read part-way into verse 18. 00:01:23.65\00:01:27.35 I am going to go back and start at verse 18 again. 00:01:27.45\00:01:29.71 This is the King James version. 00:01:29.91\00:01:31.34 Wherefore ye shall do My statutes, and keep My judgments, 00:01:31.54\00:01:35.74 and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. 00:01:35.84\00:01:40.00 And the land shall yield her fruit, 00:01:40.20\00:01:42.15 and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 00:01:42.25\00:01:45.54 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? 00:01:45.74\00:01:48.46 behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase: 00:01:48.56\00:01:51.21 Then I will command My blessing upon you in the sixth year, 00:01:51.41\00:01:55.09 and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. 00:01:55.19\00:01:59.15 And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit 00:01:59.35\00:02:02.66 until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat 00:02:02.76\00:02:05.90 of the old store. The land shall not be sold for ever: 00:02:06.00\00:02:09.11 for the land is Mine; 00:02:09.21\00:02:10.36 for ye are strangers and sojourners with Me. 00:02:10.46\00:02:13.41 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant 00:02:13.61\00:02:16.46 a redemption for the land. 00:02:16.56\00:02:18.41 If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his 00:02:18.61\00:02:22.81 possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, 00:02:22.91\00:02:26.56 then shall he redeem that which his brother sold. 00:02:26.76\00:02:30.26 And if the man have none to redeem it, 00:02:30.46\00:02:33.21 and himself be able to redeem it; 00:02:33.31\00:02:35.07 Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, 00:02:38.18\00:02:40.15 and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; 00:02:40.25\00:02:43.22 that he may return unto his possession. 00:02:43.33\00:02:46.02 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is 00:02:46.22\00:02:50.50 sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it 00:02:50.60\00:02:53.26 until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, 00:02:53.37\00:02:57.42 and he shall return unto his possession. 00:02:57.52\00:02:59.36 And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, 00:02:59.56\00:03:03.52 then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; 00:03:03.62\00:03:06.67 within a full year may he redeem it. 00:03:06.87\00:03:09.49 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, 00:03:09.69\00:03:13.20 then the house that is in the walled city shall be established 00:03:13.40\00:03:17.04 for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: 00:03:17.14\00:03:20.46 it shall not go out in the jubilee. 00:03:20.66\00:03:22.85 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about 00:03:23.05\00:03:26.53 them shall be counted as the fields of the country: 00:03:26.63\00:03:28.98 they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee. 00:03:29.18\00:03:32.83 Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, 00:03:33.03\00:03:36.13 and the houses of the cities of their possession, 00:03:36.33\00:03:38.74 may the Levites redeem at any time. 00:03:38.84\00:03:41.60 And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was 00:03:41.80\00:03:45.57 sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the 00:03:45.67\00:03:49.12 year of jubilee: for the houses of the cities of the Levites 00:03:49.16\00:03:52.58 are their possession among the children of Israel. 00:03:52.68\00:03:55.64 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; 00:03:56.05\00:03:59.73 for it is their perpetual possession. 00:03:59.83\00:04:02.50 And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay 00:04:02.70\00:04:07.07 with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: 00:04:07.17\00:04:09.79 yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; 00:04:09.89\00:04:13.59 that he may live with thee. 00:04:13.69\00:04:15.62 Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; 00:04:17.33\00:04:21.78 that thy brother may live with thee. 00:04:21.98\00:04:24.22 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, 00:04:24.42\00:04:27.03 nor lend him thy victuals for increase. 00:04:27.13\00:04:29.56 I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the 00:04:29.76\00:04:32.80 land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, 00:04:32.90\00:04:35.83 and to be your God. 00:04:35.93\00:04:37.48 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, 00:04:37.69\00:04:41.89 and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him 00:04:42.09\00:04:45.56 to serve as a bondservant: 00:04:45.66\00:04:47.57 But as a hired servant, and as a sojourner, 00:04:47.77\00:04:50.78 he shall be with thee, 00:04:50.88\00:04:52.01 and shall serve thee unto the year of jubilee: 00:04:52.12\00:04:54.86 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children 00:04:55.06\00:04:58.66 with him, and shall return unto his own family, 00:04:58.76\00:05:00.87 and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return. 00:05:00.97\00:05:04.13 For they are My servants, which I brought forth out of the 00:05:04.33\00:05:07.08 land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondsmen. 00:05:07.18\00:05:10.61 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigor; 00:05:10.81\00:05:13.25 but shalt fear thy God. 00:05:13.36\00:05:15.26 Both thy bondmen, and thy bond- maids, which thou shalt have, 00:05:15.46\00:05:19.61 shall be of the heathen that are round about you; 00:05:19.72\00:05:22.91 of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 00:05:23.11\00:05:26.81 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn 00:05:27.01\00:05:30.64 among you, of them shall ye buy, 00:05:30.74\00:05:33.07 and of their families that are with you, which they begat 00:05:33.17\00:05:36.00 in your land: and they shall be your possession. 00:05:36.10\00:05:37.94 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children 00:05:38.24\00:05:41.06 after you, to inherit them for a possession; 00:05:41.16\00:05:43.58 they shall be your bondmen for ever: 00:05:43.78\00:05:45.39 but over your brethren the children of Israel, 00:05:45.59\00:05:48.20 ye shall not rule one over another with rigor. 00:05:48.40\00:05:51.42 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, 00:05:51.62\00:05:55.94 and thy brother that dwelleth by them wax poor, 00:05:56.14\00:05:59.34 and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, 00:05:59.54\00:06:03.85 or to the stock of the stranger's family: 00:06:04.06\00:06:06.33 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; 00:06:06.53\00:06:09.67 one of his brethren may redeem him: 00:06:09.77\00:06:11.52 Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, 00:06:11.62\00:06:14.51 or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family 00:06:14.61\00:06:17.18 may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. 00:06:17.28\00:06:21.37 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year 00:06:21.58\00:06:25.16 that he was sold to him unto the year of jubilee: 00:06:25.26\00:06:28.37 and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number 00:06:28.57\00:06:31.69 of years, according to the time of a hired servant 00:06:31.80\00:06:34.09 shall it be with him. 00:06:34.19\00:06:35.81 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them 00:06:36.01\00:06:41.09 he shall give again the price of his redemption 00:06:41.19\00:06:43.35 out of the money that he was bought for. 00:06:43.45\00:06:45.35 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, 00:06:45.65\00:06:49.62 then he shall count with him, and according unto his years 00:06:49.72\00:06:53.40 shall he give him again the price of his redemption. 00:06:53.51\00:06:56.25 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: 00:06:56.46\00:07:00.02 and the other shall not rule with rigor over him 00:07:00.22\00:07:02.91 in thy sight. 00:07:03.01\00:07:04.12 And if he be not redeemed in these years, 00:07:04.32\00:07:06.54 then he shall got out in the year of jubilee, 00:07:06.65\00:07:08.20 both he, and his children with him. 00:07:08.30\00:07:09.93 For unto Me the children of Israel are servants; 00:07:09.96\00:07:13.18 they are My servants whom I brought forth 00:07:13.38\00:07:16.02 out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. 00:07:16.12\00:07:20.10 We are continuing to read 00:07:20.30\00:07:21.66 in the book of Leviticus. 00:07:21.76\00:07:22.82 This is chapter 26, and I am 00:07:23.02\00:07:24.71 reading from the King James version. 00:07:24.81\00:07:26.39 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, 00:07:26.59\00:07:30.56 neither rear you up a standing image, 00:07:30.66\00:07:33.32 neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, 00:07:33.42\00:07:36.13 to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. 00:07:36.33\00:07:40.01 Ye shall keep My Sabbaths, and reverence My sanctuary: 00:07:40.21\00:07:43.74 I am the Lord. 00:07:43.95\00:07:45.33 If ye walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, 00:07:45.53\00:07:48.53 and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, 00:07:48.63\00:07:52.34 and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the 00:07:52.54\00:07:55.06 field shall yield their fruit. 00:07:55.16\00:07:57.78 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, 00:07:57.98\00:08:02.18 and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: 00:08:02.38\00:08:04.34 and ye shall eat your bread to the full, 00:08:04.44\00:08:06.21 and dwell in your land safely. 00:08:06.41\00:08:09.05 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, 00:08:09.25\00:08:12.84 and none shall make you afraid: 00:08:12.94\00:08:15.66 and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, 00:08:15.86\00:08:18.33 neither shall the sword go through your land. 00:08:18.53\00:08:20.66 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you 00:08:20.86\00:08:23.52 by the sword. And five of you shall chase a hundred, 00:08:23.62\00:08:26.97 and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: 00:08:27.17\00:08:30.48 and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 00:08:30.68\00:08:34.23 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, 00:08:34.43\00:08:38.06 and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you. 00:08:38.16\00:08:41.66 And ye shall eat old store, 00:08:41.86\00:08:43.41 and bring forth the old because of the new. 00:08:43.51\00:08:45.38 And I will set My tabernacle among you: 00:08:45.58\00:08:48.16 and My soul shalt not abhor you. 00:08:48.36\00:08:50.97 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, 00:08:51.17\00:08:55.23 and ye shall be My people. 00:08:55.33\00:08:56.84 I am the Lord your God, 00:08:57.04\00:08:59.34 which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, 00:08:59.45\00:09:01.37 that ye should not be their bondmen; 00:09:01.57\00:09:03.51 and I have broken the bands of your yoke, 00:09:03.71\00:09:06.09 and made you to go upright. But if you will not hearken 00:09:06.19\00:09:08.60 unto Me, and will not do all these commandments; 00:09:08.70\00:09:11.48 And if ye shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor 00:09:11.68\00:09:15.74 My judgments, so that ye will not do all My commandments, 00:09:15.84\00:09:18.63 but that ye break My covenant: 00:09:18.83\00:09:20.76 I also will do this unto you; 00:09:20.96\00:09:23.42 I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, 00:09:23.62\00:09:27.88 and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, 00:09:27.99\00:09:31.31 and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed 00:09:31.41\00:09:34.99 in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 00:09:35.09\00:09:37.67 And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain 00:09:37.87\00:09:42.03 before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; 00:09:42.13\00:09:45.04 and you shall flee when none pursueth you. 00:09:45.14\00:09:47.84 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto Me, 00:09:48.04\00:09:52.55 then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 00:09:52.75\00:09:57.14 And I will break the pride of your power; 00:09:57.34\00:10:00.35 and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: 00:10:00.55\00:10:05.25 And your strength shall be spent in vain: 00:10:05.45\00:10:08.55 for your land shall not yield her increase, 00:10:08.58\00:10:11.40 neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. 00:10:11.60\00:10:14.30 And if ye walk contrary unto Me, and will not hearken unto Me; 00:10:14.50\00:10:19.04 I will bring seven times more plagues upon you 00:10:19.24\00:10:22.59 according to your sins. 00:10:22.79\00:10:24.85 I will also send wild beasts among you, 00:10:25.05\00:10:28.08 which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your 00:10:28.28\00:10:31.04 cattle, and make you few in number, 00:10:31.14\00:10:33.10 and your high ways shall be desolate. 00:10:33.30\00:10:36.17 And if ye will not be reformed by Me by these things, 00:10:36.37\00:10:40.85 but will walk contrary unto Me; 00:10:41.05\00:10:43.24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you 00:10:43.44\00:10:48.14 yet seven times for your sins. 00:10:48.24\00:10:50.80 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge 00:10:51.01\00:10:53.50 the quarrel of My covenant: and when ye are gathered 00:10:53.60\00:10:56.41 together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among 00:10:56.51\00:10:59.79 you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 00:10:59.92\00:11:03.14 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, 00:11:03.35\00:11:06.44 ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, 00:11:06.64\00:11:08.60 and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: 00:11:08.70\00:11:10.91 and you shall eat, and not be satisfied. 00:11:11.01\00:11:14.54 And if you will not for all this hearken unto Me, 00:11:14.64\00:11:18.56 but walk contrary unto Me; Then I will walk contrary 00:11:18.76\00:11:21.95 unto you also in fury; and I, even I, 00:11:22.05\00:11:27.25 will chastise you seven times for your sins. 00:11:27.36\00:11:30.01 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, 00:11:30.22\00:11:32.00 and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 00:11:32.20\00:11:34.83 And I will destroy your high places, 00:11:35.03\00:11:37.33 and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the 00:11:37.53\00:11:40.95 carcasses of your idols, and My soul shall abhor you. 00:11:41.05\00:11:45.00 And I will make your cities waste, 00:11:45.20\00:11:47.50 and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, 00:11:47.71\00:11:50.62 and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors. 00:11:50.82\00:11:54.03 And I will bring the land into desolation: 00:11:54.23\00:11:56.57 and your enemies which dwell therein 00:11:56.68\00:11:58.50 shall be astonished at it. 00:11:58.60\00:12:01.23 And I will scatter you among the heathen, 00:12:01.54\00:12:04.51 and will draw out a sword after you: 00:12:04.71\00:12:07.06 and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. 00:12:07.16\00:12:10.35 Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, 00:12:10.55\00:12:12.84 as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; 00:12:13.04\00:12:16.00 even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths. 00:12:16.20\00:12:19.71 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not 00:12:19.91\00:12:24.06 rest in your Sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it. 00:12:24.16\00:12:26.43 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send 00:12:26.63\00:12:30.78 a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; 00:12:30.88\00:12:35.06 and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; 00:12:35.26\00:12:38.88 and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; 00:12:39.08\00:12:41.43 and they shall fall when none pursueth. 00:12:41.54\00:12:45.02 And they shall fall one upon another as it were 00:12:45.22\00:12:48.21 before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have 00:12:48.31\00:12:50.75 no power to stand before your enemies. 00:12:50.85\00:12:53.81 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your 00:12:54.01\00:12:56.87 enemies shall eat you up. 00:12:56.97\00:12:58.90 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their 00:12:59.11\00:13:03.23 iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities 00:13:03.33\00:13:07.39 of their fathers shall they pine away with them. 00:13:07.49\00:13:09.84 If they shall confess their iniquity and the iniquity 00:13:10.05\00:13:13.35 of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed 00:13:13.45\00:13:16.32 against Me, and that also they have walked contrary unto Me; 00:13:16.42\00:13:20.19 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, 00:13:20.39\00:13:23.35 and have brought them into the land of their enemies; 00:13:23.45\00:13:25.32 if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, 00:13:25.52\00:13:29.82 and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: 00:13:30.02\00:13:32.92 Then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, 00:13:33.12\00:13:36.50 and also My covenant with Isaac, 00:13:36.60\00:13:38.15 and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; 00:13:38.35\00:13:41.42 and I will remember the land. 00:13:41.52\00:13:43.42 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her 00:13:43.62\00:13:47.56 Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: 00:13:47.66\00:13:50.14 and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: 00:13:50.24\00:13:53.10 because, even because they despised My judgments, 00:13:53.30\00:13:56.27 and because their soul abhorred My statutes. 00:13:56.47\00:13:58.78 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, 00:13:58.98\00:14:02.30 I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, 00:14:02.50\00:14:06.70 to destroy them utterly, and to break My covenant with them: 00:14:06.90\00:14:09.79 for I am the Lord their God. 00:14:10.00\00:14:12.25 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their 00:14:12.45\00:14:15.45 ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt 00:14:15.55\00:14:18.41 in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: 00:14:18.62\00:14:21.86 I am the Lord. 00:14:22.06\00:14:23.70 These are the statutes 00:14:23.90\00:14:26.11 and judgments and laws, 00:14:26.22\00:14:28.30 which the Lord made between Him and the children of Israel 00:14:28.50\00:14:32.22 in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses. 00:14:32.42\00:14:35.57 Thank you for joining with me. 00:14:35.77\00:14:36.93 Please come again next time to read the Word of God. 00:14:37.13\00:14:39.31 Goodbye. 00:14:39.51\00:14:41.18
