believe that there will be

thousand years
of peace on earth.

Others believe that the
whole world will be converted

during this
period of the millennium.

But what we want to do,

as we always do
on His Voice Today

is to try to find
what God has to say

instead of what
man's opinion is.

So, let's start
with Revelation 20.

Revelation 20
is the only chapter

in the whole
Bible that specifically

mentions this one
thousand year period.

So let's dig in.

Revelation 20:1, the Bible says,

Well, it's
obvious just a start out

that this
passage describing a time

when the devil is not
going be able to deceive anyone

during this millennial period.

We might say that he's
going on a long vacation.

Now, obviously,
he's not on vacation yet.

In fact, when you
look closely at verse 3,

it says that he will
deceive the nations no more,

during the millennium.

But we're not in
the millennium yet

and Satan is not his vacation.

So what's he doing?

He is deceiving the nations.

he doing right now.

that Satan knows,

And he would love to deceive us

of the millennium.

really take a close look

the Bible actually says.

zero in on what happens

So, where do you think
is the best place to start?

beginning of the millennium

So, this verse is plain that

be a resurrection.

This is the good resurrection.

Blessed in Holy
are those who are part,

those who have a
part in this resurrection,

this would the
resurrection of God's people,

it's called the
first resurrection.

So here we have
the first resurrection

and then it says on
this group of people

the second death has no power

and they shall be
priests of Garden of Christ

So they come up in
the first resurrection

Now if there's a
first resurrection,

It implies that there
will be second resurrection.

is really a period of time

in between two book
ends, two resurrections.

There is the good resurrection,

the first
resurrection of the righteous,

and the holy, and the blessed

who come up and then they live
with Jesus for thousand years.

And then there's a
second resurrection

that happens at the
end of the thousand years.

So, will explore all
this as we go deeper.

obvious question is, okay,

resurrection is a book end

thousand year period

then what event brings
about the first resurrection?

1 Thessalonians 4,
we've read this first verse

So here again, is the believers,

their rising first.

about the first resurrection,

thousand year period.

And so, then Paul
continues and says,

"Then, we who
are alive and remain,

shall be caught up
together with him in the clouds

to meet the lord in this air

and so, we shall
ever be with the Lord."

And then verse 18 says,

"Comfort one
another with these words.

So God has given
these words in his word,

and his word tells us that Jesus
00:05:52.15\00:05:54.55
will come down from Heaven,
00:05:54.58\00:05:56.18
the dead in
Christ will rise first,
00:05:56.22\00:05:58.52
and then we are
gonna be caught up.

Now, notice, Paul
says, we will be caught up.

At the beginning
of the millennium,

Jesus doesn't
come down from heaven

and then down to the earth.

The Bible says that
when Jesus comes down,

He raises the dead in
the first resurrection

and then the living and the dead

who are raised are
both caught up, up, up,

to meet Jesus in the air.

So, Jesus isn't
coming down to the earth,

He's getting us,
to take up there.

Now, when we
meet Him in the air,

where are we going?

Where does He take us?

The answer to
that is in John 14.

And I've read this verse before,

I love this passage,

so encouraging and comforting.

John 14:2, Jesus said,

So, here Jesus
says he's up there now

in heaven preparing
a special place for us,

mansions for us,
beautiful houses or rooms
00:07:14.96\00:07:18.83
or whatever he's got up
there, it's gonna be awesome.

And then he says,
he's coming back again

to get us just like it
says in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17,

and then it says,
00:07:27.48\00:07:28.81
he's going to take us to
be with him, where he is.

And where's he right now.

Revelation 21
describes the beauties

of a place called
the New Jerusalem.
00:07:38.25\00:07:40.66
You can read in your Bible,

its just
inspiring and it's beautiful
00:07:42.09\00:07:44.39
that Jesus is preparing
a gorgeous city for us.
00:07:44.43\00:07:47.66
I grew up in Studio
City, Southern California,
00:07:47.70\00:07:50.37
in the Hollywood area
00:07:50.40\00:07:51.93
and I can't wait to
see the New Jerusalem,
00:07:51.97\00:07:56.24
which is up there in Heaven
00:07:56.27\00:07:57.94
where Jesus says,
and He's gonna come down,
00:07:57.97\00:08:00.71
He is gonna get us
and take us up there
00:08:00.78\00:08:03.35
according to John 14:1-3.
00:08:03.38\00:08:06.82
So, if we go back to
00:08:06.85\00:08:10.39
1 Thessalonians 4:17 then,
00:08:10.42\00:08:15.82
His words tell us that
Jesus is gonna come down,
00:08:28.50\00:08:30.74
get us and take us up to glory.
00:08:30.81\00:08:33.78
And I'm positive
that Jesus wants to say

every single human
being in this world
00:08:36.61\00:08:41.58
to go up when he comes down.
00:08:41.62\00:08:43.99
I know that the lord
loves the whole world,
00:08:44.02\00:08:46.15
John 3:16, says,
00:08:46.19\00:08:47.79
"For God so loved
the world that He gave,
00:08:47.82\00:08:50.73
His only begotten son."
00:08:50.76\00:08:52.09
Jesus loves everybody,
every man, woman, and child,
00:08:52.13\00:08:55.73
and He wants us
all to be up there.
00:08:55.76\00:08:58.30
But if you read your
Bible, it's pretty obvious.
00:08:58.33\00:09:02.44
At least, if you look
at the Bible objectively
00:09:02.47\00:09:05.01
that not everybody
is going to heaven.
00:09:05.04\00:09:07.31
Remember, it's the
only the dead in Christ
00:09:07.38\00:09:10.35
that are
resurrected when Jesus comes.
00:09:10.38\00:09:12.51
There's a whole lot of
other people that have died
00:09:12.55\00:09:14.42
that are not the dead in Christ.
00:09:14.45\00:09:16.35
And it's only the
living who are prepared
00:09:16.38\00:09:19.82
for the coming of Jesus,
00:09:19.85\00:09:21.46
who are caught up to
meet the dead in Christ
00:09:21.49\00:09:24.33
and then to
meet Jesus in the air

and then to be taken
up to the New Jerusalem.

So the next logical question is,

what about everybody else?

What about the dead
who are not in Christ,

and what about
those who are alive,

when Jesus comes
who aren't ready?

And we have to
look at these verses.

When you keep on
reading in 1 Thessalonians 4,

then you go
right on to Chapter 5,
00:09:45.41\00:09:47.42
Paul gives us the answer.
00:09:47.45\00:09:49.52
Verse 1, Chapter 5, Paul says,
00:09:49.55\00:09:51.79
Which means it
will be very unexpected
00:10:19.88\00:10:22.08
for the majority of the world.
00:10:22.12\00:10:24.12
And then in verse 3, Paul says,
00:10:24.19\00:10:25.72
So here, Paul tells us
in Chapter 4, verse 16, 17
00:10:41.17\00:10:44.97
that the dead in Christ rise
00:10:45.01\00:10:46.78
and the believers
are caught up to be
00:10:46.81\00:10:49.61
taken in to the New Jerusalem.
00:10:49.64\00:10:51.48
But those who are not caught up,
00:10:51.51\00:10:53.11
those who are alive down here,
00:10:53.15\00:10:54.75
who are not ready
for Jesus to come,
00:10:54.78\00:10:57.09
in Chapter 5:3, he says
00:10:57.12\00:10:58.85
they will
experience sudden destruction
00:10:58.89\00:11:03.83
and they will not escape.
00:11:03.86\00:11:06.46
Now, the next question is,

how wide spread will
that destruction is be?

Let's take a look
at a few Bible verses.
00:11:12.87\00:11:16.34
Luke 17.
00:11:16.37\00:11:19.97
Luke 17 contains a
very solemn passage
00:11:20.01\00:11:24.65
where Jesus was
talking about the end times
00:11:24.68\00:11:27.05
and what would happen to those
00:11:27.12\00:11:28.95
who are not prepared
for the coming of the Lord.
00:11:28.98\00:11:32.32
Luke 17:26, Jesus said,
00:11:32.35\00:11:37.69
In 1 Thessalonians 5:3,
Paul said sudden destruction
00:11:53.07\00:11:57.45
and here Jesus
talked about the flood,
00:11:57.48\00:11:59.58
and He said the
flood destroyed them all.
00:11:59.61\00:12:02.02
And then he said,
going on in verse 28,
00:12:02.05\00:12:04.49
Every one that was left in Sodom
00:12:21.94\00:12:23.27
and didn't get
out was destroyed.
00:12:23.30\00:12:25.01
Every one who didn't go
in to the arch with Noah
00:12:25.04\00:12:27.58
and his family
they were destroyed.
00:12:27.61\00:12:30.45
And then verse 30, Jesus said,
00:12:30.48\00:12:32.38
So, if we take Jesus
Christ words literally,
00:12:39.39\00:12:41.99
he said on the day
when he's revealed,
00:12:42.02\00:12:43.36
on the day He comes,
00:12:43.43\00:12:44.96
it will be just like Noah's day,
00:12:44.99\00:12:46.39
and it will be
just like Lot's day.
00:12:46.43\00:12:48.23
Those that are
not among the group
00:12:48.26\00:12:50.80
that's
resurrected and caught up,
00:12:50.87\00:12:54.14
the living caught
up to be with Jesus
00:12:54.17\00:12:56.91
on that great day
when He is revealed.
00:12:56.94\00:12:59.97
Jesus said that it will
be just like Noah's day,
00:13:00.01\00:13:03.28
it will be just like a Lot's day
00:13:03.35\00:13:05.71
and they will be destroyed.
00:13:05.75\00:13:08.08
In Noah's day, the
whole world was drowned.
00:13:08.12\00:13:11.49
And when Jesus comes,
those who are not ready,
00:13:11.52\00:13:15.06
sudden destruction will
be all over planet earth.
00:13:15.09\00:13:20.23
Now let's look
at another passage,

if you go back to
chapter to Revelation,

look at Chapter 19.

Revelation 19 describes

what happens right
before the millennium.

Chapter 19:17-18,

verses 11 to 16
describe the coming of Jesus.

And then in
verse 17, John wrote,

" So, here,
these verses describe

the return of
Jesus, which parallels

And then in Chapter

where Paul takes
about sudden destruction.

These verses say that

they will be a
big supper of birds,

the big supper of the birds.

The birds will come and they'll
eat the flesh of all men,

whose bodies are
scattered all around the world.

Another passage is in Jeremiah 4

that describes the extent
of the destruction that occurs

when Jesus Christ returns again.

This is a very solemn passage.

In prediction, verse 23,

Jeremiah looked
ahead in to the future

and he said:

The earth was being brought back

to sort of chaotic state

like it was at
the very beginning,

that there was darkness

before God said that there
be light and there's light.

And at this point
there is no light.

Verse 24 says:,

The mountains were shaking
and all the hills were shaking.

Revelation 16, it describes

when the Lord comes
there will be great earthquake

such as was not since
men were upon the earth,
00:15:56.99\00:15:59.32
so mighty and so great.

And I believe these are,

this is describing
like the after shocks

of the planets still
convulsing and trembling.

Verse 25 says:

And this would be after
the supper of the birds.

When Jesus comes,
those who don't go up,

their bodies are
scattered around the world

and they, the birds
come and eat their flesh.

This is the supper of the birds,

which is actually in contrast

where Jesus describes

the marriage supper of the lamb.

In Chapter 19 it describes

one group that's
enjoying the marriage supper

and then in verses 17 and 18,

he describes another group

that is the
supper for the birds,

which basically
tells us that everybody

at the end of the
world is going be in

one or two, one of two suppers.

One group is going
to be eating the supper

with Jesus in heaven

and the other
group is going to be

the supper down
here for the birds.

So you know, if you
think about it like that,

hopefully we are all impressed

that we wanna be with
Jesus, eating the supper,

we don't wanna be
down here as the supper.

And as Jeremiah
continues, he says,

You read that
also in Revelation 16,
00:17:30.05\00:17:31.98
it says that after
the great earthquake,

it says the cities
of the nations crumble
00:17:33.75\00:17:36.79
when the lord comes.
00:17:36.82\00:17:38.32
It's gonna be solemn day
00:17:44.23\00:17:45.56
when Jesus Christ
comes down from Heaven.
00:17:45.59\00:17:48.00
Those who are caught up
are going to be with him,
00:17:48.03\00:17:51.67
and to eat the delicious food
00:17:51.70\00:17:55.24
up in the New Jerusalem.
00:17:55.27\00:17:56.60
But those who are not
ready will be left down here,

they will
experience sudden destruction

just like Noah's
day, just like Lot's day.

Jeremiah said
there was no man left

and Revelation 19 says

that the birds come and
eat the flesh of all men,

small and great, rich
and poor, free and bond.

So, when you put
the pieces together

it's pretty clear,

how widespread
the destruction is.

The destruction is
all around the world.

When the Jesus
comes to raise the dead,

his people are being resurrected

from all around the world.

Now those who are at caught
up to meet him in the air,

they are being caught up
from all around the world.

And when Paul says
those that are not ready

they will
experience sudden destruction,

obviously this would
be all around the world.

In other words,

at the end of the verse it says,

"All the fowls was
filled with their flesh."

supper of the birds

that are left on the earth.

therefore, they must be on earth

that they will be on earth
