I would like to go back 00:00:01.06\00:00:02.64 to the Parable of the Prodigal Son, 00:00:02.67\00:00:04.23 we are in chapter 15 and we are looking at verse 23, 00:00:04.26\00:00:08.18 "And bring hither the fatted calf, 00:00:08.21\00:00:10.26 and kill it and let us eat, and be merry." 00:00:10.29\00:00:14.32 Now who was being killed here in the Parable? 00:00:14.35\00:00:17.80 What did he deserve to be sac-- 00:00:17.83\00:00:20.62 why did he deserve to be sacrificed 00:00:20.65\00:00:23.01 while he didn't deserve to be sacrificed? 00:00:23.04\00:00:25.02 Couldn't we feast without that? 00:00:25.05\00:00:27.95 Wasn't the calf innocent and the Prodigal Son guilty? 00:00:27.98\00:00:31.04 Yes, but listen in Hebrews 9:22 it says, 00:00:31.07\00:00:35.22 "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." 00:00:35.25\00:00:40.68 Jesus, so that we could rejoice, 00:00:40.71\00:00:43.93 He rejoiced to die on our behalf. 00:00:43.96\00:00:48.21 And so in the Parable of the Prodigal Son, 00:00:48.24\00:00:51.09 even the symbolic calf 00:00:51.12\00:00:53.08 is the center of the whole Parable. 00:00:53.11\00:00:55.60 This is Jesus and all that we enjoy together, 00:00:55.63\00:00:59.51 all that we enjoy in this world 00:00:59.54\00:01:01.68 is blood bought at the cross of Calvary. 00:01:01.71\00:01:05.44 The whole Bible is based on that sacrifice. 00:01:05.47\00:01:10.44 May God bless you all. 00:01:10.47\00:01:12.13
