India is a land full of contrast. 00:00:20.56\00:00:25.25 It's a land of great mystery and beauty. 00:00:25.28\00:00:28.75 It's a land of unspeakable despair. 00:00:28.78\00:00:32.15 But traveling through India one thing is for sure, 00:00:32.18\00:00:35.58 it's a land filled with people 00:00:35.61\00:00:37.10 who should never be underestimated. 00:00:37.13\00:00:40.67 For the last 40 years 00:00:40.70\00:00:42.31 Asian Aid has invested in the futures of people 00:00:42.34\00:00:45.15 who have never been given such a chance 00:00:45.18\00:00:47.38 and their investment has proven infinite returns. 00:00:47.41\00:00:52.01 Driven by the vision of Helen Eager, 00:00:52.04\00:00:54.18 dedicated to helping those who have the least, 00:00:54.21\00:00:56.94 Asian Aid is an organization 00:00:56.97\00:00:58.59 in for many diverse development projects 00:00:58.62\00:01:00.91 and sponsoring thousands of children. 00:01:00.94\00:01:04.39 Their outreach spans from Bangladesh to Nepal, 00:01:04.42\00:01:07.37 Sri Lanka and beyond, from remote villages 00:01:07.40\00:01:11.06 and empty fields to sprawling centers of education, 00:01:11.09\00:01:15.11 from nothing to the unimaginable. 00:01:15.14\00:01:19.07 Now Asian Aid decided to document the work 00:01:19.10\00:01:21.79 it has been doing in all these years 00:01:21.82\00:01:23.44 with the desire to show the world what is possible. 00:01:23.47\00:01:27.04 By digging wells in remote villages 00:01:27.07\00:01:28.76 for clean drinking water 00:01:28.79\00:01:30.66 and bringing much needed healthcare 00:01:30.69\00:01:32.19 to the women of Nepal. 00:01:32.22\00:01:34.66 By providing an education for orphans, 00:01:34.69\00:01:36.89 deaf and blind children, 00:01:36.92\00:01:38.54 giving them a sense of place, a home. 00:01:38.57\00:01:41.50 But what we really discovered was being given was hope, 00:01:41.53\00:01:45.17 giving hope to children, giving hope to women, 00:01:45.20\00:01:49.71 giving hope to the ones who needed the most. 00:01:49.74\00:01:53.74 This is Hope in Motion. 00:01:53.77\00:01:55.86 Our film team has traveled from India to Nepal 00:02:03.32\00:02:06.07 documenting the work of Asian Aid. 00:02:06.10\00:02:08.48 We've spoken with officials, Asian Aid staff, 00:02:08.51\00:02:11.00 school principals and teachers, 00:02:11.03\00:02:13.41 but we really wanted to hear directly from the kids 00:02:13.44\00:02:16.00 to know their stories from their point of view. 00:02:16.03\00:02:18.93 So we sit down with the kids of the Sunrise Orphanage Home. 00:02:18.96\00:02:22.22 One of the first children 00:02:22.25\00:02:23.37 we're doing an extended interview with is named Hannah. 00:02:23.40\00:02:26.06 Now before Sunrise, 00:02:26.09\00:02:28.10 tell me little bit about your life before Sunrise? 00:02:28.13\00:02:30.34 She says she comes from a very below poverty 00:02:43.99\00:02:47.49 family background, 00:02:47.52\00:02:48.65 and she says her father is a drunkard and he drinks 00:02:48.68\00:02:52.46 and then comes home and beats his mother. 00:02:52.49\00:02:54.65 And father once he drunk and came home, 00:02:54.68\00:02:56.91 there was some argument 00:02:56.94\00:02:57.97 and his father got angry and he took a metal rod 00:02:58.00\00:03:02.48 and hit her on the head and mother died on the spot. 00:03:02.51\00:03:05.23 And she saw that you know father killing her mother, 00:03:05.26\00:03:08.68 and that man really scared her, 00:03:08.71\00:03:10.00 she has no words and she is gonna need to run. 00:03:10.03\00:03:12.36 And the police came and they asked her to be a witness 00:03:12.39\00:03:15.64 and she said she saw her father killing her mother. 00:03:15.67\00:03:18.25 At that time she was helpless, hopeless, 00:03:49.39\00:03:52.93 no one is there to take care of and grandmother is there. 00:03:52.96\00:03:56.97 At that time they came to know about this Sunrise Home. 00:03:57.00\00:04:02.65 And she says somehow God 00:04:02.68\00:04:05.04 grace has brought her here to Sunrise Home 00:04:05.07\00:04:07.31 and she says she is happy here, 00:04:07.34\00:04:08.97 and she says she is enjoying her life in Sunrise Home. 00:04:09.00\00:04:11.80 With the inspiration of Mummy Eager 00:04:26.92\00:04:29.26 and inspiration of Asian Aid, USA, 00:04:29.29\00:04:31.76 inspiration of Asian Aid, Australia 00:04:31.79\00:04:33.56 who started the orphanage, 00:04:33.59\00:04:34.62 with a small orphanage with three children. 00:04:34.65\00:04:37.36 That three children went up to the seven children, 00:04:37.39\00:04:39.35 seven children went to-- 00:04:39.38\00:04:40.64 that it slowly it's going big, big and big and big. 00:04:40.67\00:04:45.44 We've been to many orphanages for Asian Aid, 00:04:45.48\00:04:47.81 but much of our time is been spent here with these kids. 00:04:47.84\00:04:51.03 We were lucky enough to share 00:04:51.06\00:04:52.09 a lot of nice moments with them. 00:04:52.12\00:04:55.60 But we wanted to know more about their lives 00:04:55.63\00:04:57.48 before Sunrise Home. 00:04:57.51\00:04:59.88 We wanted to know how being sponsored through Asian Aid 00:04:59.91\00:05:02.49 has since changed their lives. 00:05:02.52\00:05:04.10 As we talk with them we were amazed, 00:05:08.53\00:05:11.60 we got an unexpected lesson in humility, 00:05:11.63\00:05:14.33 a lesson in being hopeful 00:05:14.36\00:05:15.59 for the future despite the obstacles. 00:05:15.62\00:05:17.94 This is mainly this area is the most 00:05:32.72\00:05:35.32 backward place in Andhra Pradesh. 00:05:35.35\00:05:38.82 With this reason most of the people are 00:05:38.85\00:05:40.74 migrating from here to other places, 00:05:40.77\00:05:43.18 they are leaving the children at home 00:05:43.21\00:05:45.00 and going to the towns, 00:05:45.03\00:05:46.29 working there for few months coming back by this time 00:05:46.32\00:05:49.99 that some children are disappearing from the homes, 00:05:50.02\00:05:52.48 and some children are losing their parents. 00:05:52.51\00:05:56.17 So all these years we are struggling a lot, 00:06:04.30\00:06:08.86 but the most need in this area 00:06:08.89\00:06:10.80 is to provide the proper education 00:06:10.83\00:06:13.25 and proper facilities for the children. 00:06:13.28\00:06:15.60 Like Hannah each kid has their own difficult story to tell 00:06:35.64\00:06:39.29 about their lives before they arrived at Sunrise Home. 00:06:39.32\00:06:43.07 My parents died with HIV-AIDS, I have one younger brother, 00:06:43.10\00:06:48.24 so she took both of us to the hospital, 00:06:48.27\00:06:51.27 in the hospital they told that my brother had AIDS. 00:06:51.30\00:06:55.44 My father was a drunkard, 00:06:55.47\00:06:57.88 he died first, he was doctor but he died. 00:06:57.91\00:07:02.07 My mother poured kerosene, burned herself and died. 00:07:02.10\00:07:08.66 Then my father killed my mother, 00:07:08.69\00:07:11.22 then my father sent to jail. 00:07:11.25\00:07:13.41 There is nobody to look after me, 00:07:13.44\00:07:16.26 my mother died without because of lack of medicines. 00:07:16.29\00:07:22.96 My father got heart attack, nobody have me, 00:07:22.99\00:07:27.91 I am alone, nobody can care me. 00:07:27.94\00:07:32.20 I wanted to die. 00:07:32.23\00:07:37.86 Why my life is like this? Nobody can care me. 00:07:37.89\00:07:42.77 I also came from very poor family. 00:07:59.46\00:08:01.78 I know all the problems what I faced when I was small. 00:08:01.81\00:08:06.34 So I also know the children's problem, 00:08:06.37\00:08:09.74 I'll be like friend with them, I'll be like mother, 00:08:09.77\00:08:12.87 I'll be like dean, all the works I'll do with them 00:08:12.90\00:08:16.47 so they love me, and I too love them. 00:08:16.50\00:08:19.26 And she know the people's difficulties 00:08:19.29\00:08:22.55 and children how the children struggle without parents, 00:08:22.58\00:08:25.67 without proper food, and the shelter. 00:08:25.70\00:08:30.48 So she shows good love to the children, 00:08:30.51\00:08:36.20 and she will try to provide all their needs. 00:08:36.23\00:08:39.02 She may not provide all they want 00:08:39.05\00:08:41.19 or what they want, 00:08:41.22\00:08:42.25 but she try to reach all their needs. 00:08:42.28\00:08:44.06 At Sunrise home Lalitha and Brahma 00:08:48.77\00:08:50.84 work hard to make sure they are eating well, 00:08:50.87\00:08:53.46 staying healthy, and getting good education. 00:08:53.49\00:08:56.38 And she said she is so fortunate to be here, 00:09:01.77\00:09:04.58 she is getting three meals per day, 00:09:04.61\00:09:06.62 new clothes and she is going to school. 00:09:06.65\00:09:09.08 And she said she is happy staying in Sunrise Home. 00:09:09.11\00:09:11.55 And now here at Sunrise 00:09:33.78\00:09:36.69 and what is your life right now, 00:09:36.72\00:09:39.03 how has it changed? 00:09:39.06\00:09:40.11 Yeah, now I am feeling so happy because like 00:09:40.14\00:09:43.40 we stay like friends with all of them, 00:09:43.43\00:09:47.75 we are staying nicely only. 00:09:47.78\00:09:49.34 Hannah and the rest of the kids 00:10:22.43\00:10:23.62 don't take one second for granted. 00:10:23.65\00:10:26.15 They're very aware of the fact 00:10:26.18\00:10:27.51 that they are getting a high standard value based education 00:10:27.54\00:10:31.13 that will help them in the future. 00:10:31.16\00:10:32.49 I want to do social work because this mummy and daddy 00:10:45.05\00:10:50.32 are taking care of the children very nice 00:10:50.35\00:10:54.25 that's why I want to be a social worker. 00:10:54.28\00:10:59.13 I want to become teacher. 00:10:59.16\00:11:01.34 I want to become doctor 00:11:01.37\00:11:03.24 because I want to help the other people. 00:11:03.27\00:11:07.49 And for Prem he has a new dream, 00:11:20.67\00:11:23.21 he wants to be a filmmaker. 00:11:23.24\00:11:25.34 His dreams are not far off 00:11:25.37\00:11:27.71 and they are well on the road to achieving them, 00:11:27.74\00:11:29.99 and Asian Aid is doing whatever they can 00:11:30.02\00:11:31.89 to ensure that they do. 00:11:31.92\00:11:34.57 Their current home is now too small. 00:11:34.60\00:11:36.71 Many of the kids sleep on the floor 00:11:36.74\00:11:38.71 and it's a adjacent to excess pores, sewage and trash. 00:11:38.74\00:11:41.95 Asian Aid is already in the process of building them 00:11:48.32\00:11:50.93 a new self sustaining facility outside of town. 00:11:50.96\00:11:53.82 Where they will have the room to grow and flourish. 00:11:57.84\00:12:01.60 Sometimes they feel they are hopeless, 00:12:19.28\00:12:21.50 they are helpless, 00:12:21.53\00:12:22.62 but when they come to our place 00:12:22.65\00:12:24.85 they feel that they are helpful, 00:12:24.88\00:12:27.47 and they are hopeful also. 00:12:27.50\00:12:29.04 It was impossible not to feel the love of these kids, 00:12:37.93\00:12:41.11 whether he is racing us to the finish line 00:12:41.14\00:12:43.07 or wanting to just sit with us 00:12:43.10\00:12:44.71 and ask us what life was like back in our world. 00:12:44.74\00:12:48.02 They left little doubt 00:12:48.05\00:12:49.30 that given the ray of hope from Asian Aid, 00:12:49.33\00:12:51.61 they would definitely succeed in life. 00:12:51.64\00:12:53.47 Well, I'm here at Sunrise Home with Joshua 00:13:30.23\00:13:32.58 and these two lovely girls. 00:13:32.61\00:13:34.61 And every morning their sponsors 00:13:34.64\00:13:37.24 make a big difference in their lives 00:13:37.27\00:13:39.70 providing accommodation, providing clothing, 00:13:39.73\00:13:42.30 providing food and shortly 00:13:42.33\00:13:44.31 they are going to walk down the road 00:13:44.34\00:13:45.70 to the local Bobbili Adventist school 00:13:45.73\00:13:48.16 and with sponsorship you can make a big difference 00:13:48.19\00:13:51.24 every morning in the life of the child. 00:13:51.27\00:13:53.29 There are so many sunny days here 00:14:04.43\00:14:07.22 especially in the class room it's just so amazing, 00:14:07.25\00:14:12.29 how one kid can write in a day up. 00:14:12.32\00:14:15.06 And there is 30 of them in a class room 00:14:24.25\00:14:27.22 saying teacher, teacher 00:14:27.25\00:14:29.19 showing me a new pencil or showing me new shoes. 00:14:29.22\00:14:32.95 Being able to be there when they understand something, 00:14:41.65\00:14:45.76 I count that as a sunny day. 00:14:45.79\00:14:47.19 When we arrived at Elim Home, 00:14:53.87\00:14:55.38 a school and orphanage run by Asian Aid, 00:14:55.41\00:14:57.87 we meet two American students volunteering there 00:14:57.90\00:15:00.67 Lindsey and Jashira. 00:15:00.70\00:15:05.53 We can tell right away 00:15:05.56\00:15:06.97 they were a big hit with the kids. 00:15:07.00\00:15:08.68 And I just worked at summer camp 00:15:15.11\00:15:17.10 for the first time this last year, 00:15:17.13\00:15:18.80 this last summer and I loved it, 00:15:18.83\00:15:21.31 and it's just same concept, same thing, 24/7 kids 00:15:21.34\00:15:26.53 it's fun but it's tiring. 00:15:26.56\00:15:28.78 [speaking in foreign language] 00:15:31.40\00:15:39.39 I am helping out with what they call is LKG 00:15:39.42\00:15:43.52 or lower kindergarten which in America 00:15:43.55\00:15:46.58 we translate into nursery/pre-school. 00:15:46.61\00:15:49.42 So since you've been here, 00:15:54.99\00:15:57.76 do you feel like you made an impact 00:15:57.79\00:16:00.35 or an influence and it's so is it significant? 00:16:00.38\00:16:06.34 We actually have struggled with this idea, yes. 00:16:06.37\00:16:11.09 We came here wanting to make a difference 00:16:11.12\00:16:14.56 but there are days that we feel like 00:16:14.59\00:16:16.98 we have not made any differences 00:16:17.01\00:16:19.28 and we go to the room and we are frustrated, we cry, 00:16:19.31\00:16:23.39 we don't know what to do. 00:16:23.42\00:16:25.65 Other days we play with the kids 00:16:25.68\00:16:27.30 and we see how much love they give us. 00:16:27.33\00:16:30.95 I think it's hard because we come here, 00:16:30.98\00:16:32.98 and we see so many things we want to change 00:16:33.01\00:16:35.10 and such a big difference that we want to make, 00:16:35.13\00:16:37.14 and we have to realize that we can't change the culture, 00:16:37.17\00:16:39.33 we can't change the world right away, 00:16:39.36\00:16:41.21 you know it's little things by different people 00:16:41.24\00:16:43.12 once step at a time. 00:16:43.15\00:16:44.96 As we get ready to leave Elim Home, 00:16:44.99\00:16:46.82 we are pleased to find out that Jashira can come with us 00:16:46.85\00:16:49.90 to see what other Asian Aid volunteers and partners 00:16:49.93\00:16:52.34 are accomplishing all across India. 00:16:52.37\00:16:54.20 We are traveling to Bangalore, India, 00:17:15.81\00:17:19.09 to check out how the people are living. 00:17:19.12\00:17:24.33 In our out patient clinic 00:17:24.36\00:17:26.07 47 percent of patients are located. 00:17:26.10\00:17:28.15 We get a tour of this Bangalore slum from two doctors 00:17:28.18\00:17:31.10 that have partnered with Asian Aid 00:17:31.13\00:17:32.63 to run an important outreach program. 00:17:32.66\00:17:35.19 Every week they volunteered their time 00:17:35.22\00:17:37.28 to provide health education and medical services 00:17:37.31\00:17:39.84 to families living in these poverty stricken areas. 00:17:39.87\00:17:43.23 How many people are there in this community? 00:17:43.26\00:17:47.59 Close to 8,000. 00:17:47.62\00:17:49.87 Eight thousand are packed right in here? 00:17:49.90\00:17:52.28 Yes, yes. 00:17:52.31\00:17:54.59 It's vicious cycle poverty, 00:17:54.62\00:17:57.62 therefore lack of education, 00:17:57.65\00:17:59.41 lack of education leading to poverty, 00:17:59.44\00:18:01.69 and this lack of nutrition leading to infections, 00:18:01.72\00:18:05.10 illnesses and that causing loss of a job and again poverty 00:18:05.13\00:18:08.95 and so poverty, ill-health, poverty kind of a cycle, 00:18:08.98\00:18:12.95 poverty, lack of literacy, again poverty, 00:18:12.98\00:18:15.80 so there are two vicious cycles going side by side. 00:18:15.83\00:18:17.94 Asian Aid's partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist 00:18:17.97\00:18:20.13 medical centre helps to make sure 00:18:20.16\00:18:22.18 that essential health services are available to people 00:18:22.21\00:18:25.35 who would otherwise have no proper medical care. 00:18:25.38\00:18:28.09 It's all in an effort to try to break the cycle of poverty 00:18:28.12\00:18:31.22 that is pervasive in places like this. 00:18:31.25\00:18:33.69 We go down and there is a tent made of tarp 00:18:33.72\00:18:37.31 and little kids running with only a shirt on, 00:18:37.34\00:18:40.02 and no pants. 00:18:40.05\00:18:41.40 There is trash everywhere and just seeing 00:18:41.43\00:18:44.25 kids trying to look for food. 00:18:44.28\00:18:46.62 We leave Bangalore saddened by the condition in the slums, 00:18:46.65\00:18:49.86 but hopeful about the change 00:18:49.89\00:18:51.28 that people like Dr. S.K and Dr. Crystal 00:18:51.31\00:18:53.44 and the medical centre are making in this community 00:18:53.47\00:18:56.18 with the help of Asian Aid. 00:18:56.21\00:18:57.54 In the village of Kamagere we visit an Asian Aid school 00:19:16.41\00:19:19.34 for the hearing and speech impaired. 00:19:19.37\00:19:21.73 There, we meet Lyle and Lloyd from Australia, 00:19:21.76\00:19:24.83 two volunteers who partnered with Asian Aid to provide 00:19:24.86\00:19:28.41 professional construction and maintenance services 00:19:28.44\00:19:31.17 for some of their schools and development projects. 00:19:31.20\00:19:33.84 Well we just talked to Helen 00:19:33.87\00:19:36.00 and we said what Asian projects you have, 00:19:36.03\00:19:38.99 we're fairly skilled people, we're very careful with funds, 00:19:39.02\00:19:43.57 and we've known each other for many years. 00:19:43.60\00:19:47.38 I think many people think we're only in a building business 00:19:47.41\00:19:50.76 but in actual fact what we are in? 00:19:50.79\00:19:53.26 We are in the people business 00:19:53.29\00:19:54.60 and we are in the children business, 00:19:54.63\00:19:56.57 and what we really about is bringing hope. 00:19:56.60\00:20:02.12 We are giving young people the opportunity to know that 00:20:02.15\00:20:05.04 someone cares for them, and more than that that 00:20:05.07\00:20:08.17 God really does care for them as well. 00:20:08.20\00:20:11.03 The joy of children who you've met four years ago, 00:20:11.06\00:20:13.97 who are now young men and young women, 00:20:14.00\00:20:16.27 and they're just come running down 00:20:16.30\00:20:18.91 and hello uncle, uncle, uncle, hello, hello 00:20:18.94\00:20:22.25 and they surround you. 00:20:22.28\00:20:24.38 And you think I feel like the king of heaven 00:20:24.41\00:20:27.79 and the joy that comes from is, is unsurpassable. 00:20:27.82\00:20:33.14 I have fallen in love with these kids, 00:20:33.17\00:20:34.73 and I've only been here for a day, two days 00:20:34.76\00:20:37.19 and I am very glad 00:20:37.22\00:20:39.56 that I have this opportunity to come and meet these kids. 00:20:39.59\00:20:43.15 I'm trying really hard not to cry. 00:20:47.13\00:20:51.57 Leaving the school was hard. 00:20:51.60\00:20:53.72 We fell in love with these kids instantly, 00:20:53.75\00:20:56.18 but Helen and Asian Aid have more schools 00:20:56.21\00:20:58.20 and projects they wanted us to see. 00:20:58.23\00:21:00.18 The school and orphanage in the remote town of Jeypore 00:21:07.18\00:21:10.30 is a shining example of what happens 00:21:10.33\00:21:12.22 when a key partner gets involved, 00:21:12.25\00:21:14.42 and a vision becomes reality. 00:21:14.45\00:21:16.62 Businessman and philanthropist 00:21:19.83\00:21:21.40 Garwin McNeilus funded and oversaw the construction 00:21:21.43\00:21:25.05 of what is now one of Asian Aid's top schools. 00:21:25.08\00:21:29.37 There's nothing greater than you can do 00:21:29.40\00:21:30.94 and you'll never run out of children. 00:21:30.97\00:21:33.00 You'll never build a school 00:21:33.03\00:21:34.44 and after while there'll be no children there. 00:21:34.47\00:21:36.91 As long as the school is there, the children are there, 00:21:36.94\00:21:39.00 then sponsors are there, 00:21:39.03\00:21:40.44 there will be developments taking place. 00:21:40.47\00:21:44.18 Well in my dream I was just thinking 00:21:44.21\00:21:46.02 of the small boarding school with maybe 50 children 00:21:46.05\00:21:49.19 and that of course did increase to 200 quite fast. 00:21:49.22\00:21:52.08 But now to see these buildings 00:21:52.11\00:21:54.65 and this campus is just so amazing. 00:21:54.68\00:21:58.48 And now there is 750 children actually studying 00:21:58.51\00:22:02.99 and learning so much on this school compound. 00:22:03.02\00:22:07.94 Both Garwin McNeilus 00:22:07.97\00:22:09.48 and another American businessman Bruce Farley 00:22:09.51\00:22:12.21 know what it takes to build a home 00:22:12.24\00:22:13.89 and a school from scratch, 00:22:13.92\00:22:15.85 but they always keep the big picture inside. 00:22:15.88\00:22:20.36 During our travels we saw many ways 00:22:20.39\00:22:22.38 that Asian Aid's volunteers and partners 00:22:22.41\00:22:24.91 are making a difference in Nepal and India. 00:22:24.94\00:22:28.02 It's obvious that the biblical principle of the least of these 00:22:28.05\00:22:31.30 is what drives them, Helen Mummy Eager 00:22:31.33\00:22:33.74 and all the Asian Aid leadership and staff. 00:22:33.77\00:22:36.63 It's a belief that keeps hope alive 00:22:36.66\00:22:39.00 and gives people a chance to pass on their blessings 00:22:39.03\00:22:41.56 in ways that truly change the world. 00:22:41.59\00:22:43.60 Finally we returned to Elim Home, 00:22:45.80\00:22:47.86 where our journey started. 00:22:47.89\00:22:49.18 Having witnessed some of these kids' 00:22:53.08\00:22:54.39 transformations is gratifying, 00:22:54.42\00:22:57.11 but it's not just the kids 00:22:57.14\00:22:58.28 who were transformed by Asian Aid's work. 00:22:58.31\00:23:00.49 There's just something about them, 00:23:10.71\00:23:12.87 that just, they're just, they're happy 00:23:12.90\00:23:17.98 and makes you happy to see them happy. 00:23:18.01\00:23:20.40 Sorry. 00:23:23.03\00:23:24.06 I think that's gonna make it really hard. 00:23:30.63\00:23:35.90 And I am pretty sure 00:23:35.93\00:23:37.31 I am gonna think about them a lot when I leave. 00:23:37.34\00:23:42.96 Hopefully like I said before I'll make a difference 00:24:01.76\00:24:05.73 even if it's a dent, 00:24:05.76\00:24:07.82 I know may be a passing car, 00:24:07.85\00:24:09.45 oh just she like car, she was here, 00:24:09.48\00:24:11.85 she helped me write my ABCs, like something like that. 00:24:11.88\00:24:15.44 When we arrived as filmmakers, 00:24:33.74\00:24:35.63 our job was to observe the work Asian Aid is doing. 00:24:35.66\00:24:38.48 But we leave having gotten involved. 00:24:47.15\00:24:49.43 Well, we can't do everything for millions of people, 00:24:53.79\00:24:56.82 but we can help a few people, 00:24:56.85\00:24:58.36 we can help a few thousand of them 00:24:58.39\00:25:00.40 and I am thankful that Asian Aid is doing that. 00:25:00.43\00:25:03.40 And don't kid yourself, 00:25:03.43\00:25:04.47 every child that is helped, helps somebody else. 00:25:04.50\00:25:08.29 They pass it on, 00:25:17.07\00:25:18.47 I don't know any of them who do not pass it on. 00:25:18.50\00:25:21.25 Hope can be described in many ways, 00:25:30.51\00:25:33.06 but there's only one way to describe 00:25:33.09\00:25:34.69 the Asian Aid's definition. 00:25:34.72\00:25:36.89 This is Hope in Motion. 00:25:36.92\00:25:38.94 Currently at the Vijayanagaram school, 00:27:07.80\00:27:09.56 there are 19 Asian Aid sponsored students. 00:27:09.59\00:27:12.51 They sleep on the floor and they share one bathroom 00:27:12.54\00:27:14.72 with all the other students on the campus. 00:27:14.75\00:27:17.04 When my church family heard about this need, 00:27:17.07\00:27:18.93 they've raised funds to make this campus 00:27:18.96\00:27:20.90 a better place for the students. 00:27:20.93\00:27:22.89 There's a constant need for donations by individuals, 00:27:22.92\00:27:26.66 churches, organizations to assist Asian Aid 00:27:26.69\00:27:29.34 with these many special projects. 00:27:29.37\00:27:31.20 Join me, would you in making a difference. 00:27:31.23\00:27:34.69
