Thank you Kathy so very, very much. 00:03:44.25\00:03:46.99 Our subject for tonight, our discussion centers around Home 00:03:47.02\00:03:52.74 Depot, Just A Hammer and A Nail. 00:03:52.78\00:03:56.55 Home Depot, Just A Hammer and A Nail. 00:03:56.59\00:04:01.38 Shall we go to the Lord in prayer Father God, 00:04:01.41\00:04:03.97 we thank You so very much for Your word. 00:04:04.00\00:04:07.87 We thank You for Jesus, we thank You for this Sabbath day, 00:04:07.90\00:04:12.26 this time that You have set aside so that we can turn off 00:04:12.29\00:04:16.14 the cares, the hustle and bustle of the world and turn 00:04:16.17\00:04:19.98 our minds toward Jesus. 00:04:20.01\00:04:22.27 We asked Father that You would be pleased to give us Your 00:04:22.30\00:04:26.27 Spirit because we want know and understand Your will, 00:04:26.30\00:04:30.23 we want to do Your will and we thank you so 00:04:30.27\00:04:33.96 very much, in Jesus name Amen! 00:04:33.99\00:04:36.96 Book of Hebrews was addressed to Hebrew Christians to affirm 00:04:40.53\00:04:48.69 for them the idea or notion that Jesus Christ 00:04:48.73\00:04:57.71 was and is all sufficient. 00:04:57.75\00:05:02.17 The Hebrew Christians were in danger of falling back into 00:05:02.20\00:05:06.26 Jewish habits, Jewish ways, Jewish lifestyle and 00:05:06.29\00:05:11.97 so Paul wrote to the Hebrew Christians to let them know that 00:05:12.00\00:05:16.36 those things that you were doing before, which were so natural 00:05:16.40\00:05:20.72 for you, and so comfortable for you, have now found 00:05:20.76\00:05:24.97 their fulfillment in Jesus. 00:05:25.00\00:05:27.85 It is now all about Jesus, that this once and for all 00:05:27.89\00:05:33.75 sacrifice that Jesus made allows Him to be the Minister and 00:05:33.78\00:05:40.36 the Mediator of the benefits of His own sacrifice. 00:05:40.40\00:05:44.65 We see over and over in the book of Hebrews this term, 00:05:44.68\00:05:48.86 how much more and we'll touch on that term a little bit later but 00:05:48.89\00:05:53.48 over and again Paul says to them, well you did this, 00:05:53.52\00:05:57.09 and this worked for them but how much more better is it 00:05:57.13\00:06:00.67 that we have got the real thing. We have Jesus. 00:06:00.70\00:06:04.26 So the book of Hebrews was written over and over again 00:06:04.29\00:06:08.15 to say that Christ is all sufficient. 00:06:08.19\00:06:11.59 We can say that even today, can't we? 00:06:11.62\00:06:14.96 All we need is Jesus, and when you have Jesus you 00:06:14.99\00:06:19.95 really have all you need. 00:06:19.98\00:06:21.45 So the question was, and is, what then was nailed to 00:06:21.48\00:06:27.70 the cross, what was Paul trying to say in the book of Hebrews 00:06:27.73\00:06:32.41 as respects what Christ did, and what we now have to do? 00:06:32.44\00:06:37.10 I was in Home Depot some time ago, it is actually one 00:06:37.13\00:06:40.78 of my favorite stores because I'm not a shopper per se. 00:06:40.82\00:06:44.43 I tend to want to get into the store and get out. 00:06:44.47\00:06:48.18 I don't like to linger too much until I go to a store like 00:06:48.21\00:06:50.91 Home Depot, there is something about Home Depot. 00:06:50.94\00:06:53.70 Well there is one other store, I am a tie guy. 00:06:53.73\00:06:57.22 I like ties, when I am sad I buy a tie to drown my 00:06:57.26\00:07:01.01 sorrows, when I am happy I buy a tie to celebrate my 00:07:01.05\00:07:04.77 happiness, I like ties. 00:07:04.80\00:07:06.39 It's not too expensive like going out and buying a car. 00:07:06.43\00:07:08.35 A tie is fairly cheap, fairly reasonable. 00:07:08.38\00:07:11.53 You can't always buy a suit or pair of shoes that is a little 00:07:11.57\00:07:15.27 too much; but a tie, if you shop where I shop you can 00:07:15.31\00:07:18.69 usually get a tie pretty reasonable. 00:07:18.73\00:07:21.02 So I am a tie person, I will spend some time 00:07:21.05\00:07:22.72 lingering over ties. 00:07:22.76\00:07:24.39 I do like Home Depot and when we moved into our house sometime 00:07:24.42\00:07:28.63 ago, it was an older home and needed a lot of fixing so I 00:07:28.67\00:07:31.10 found myself at Home Depot a lot. 00:07:31.13\00:07:33.49 Plaster and paint and caulking. 00:07:33.52\00:07:35.81 I made my way to the section of fasteners, there is a section 00:07:35.85\00:07:39.75 in Home Depot called fasteners. 00:07:39.79\00:07:41.78 It is in the hardware section. 00:07:41.82\00:07:43.74 I found nails and screws and braces and clamps and hooks and 00:07:43.78\00:07:48.95 retainers and caulk and solder and Velcro and putty, Staples 00:07:48.98\00:07:54.12 and cement, silicone and asphalt. 00:07:54.15\00:07:56.15 But my favorite in that section, was a thing called Gorilla Glue. 00:07:56.19\00:08:00.63 I love Gorilla Glue, Gorilla Glue will hold anything. 00:08:00.67\00:08:04.65 I believe Gorilla Glue, will hold a marriage together. 00:08:04.68\00:08:07.90 If you put Gorilla Glue on a husband and wife, it is my 00:08:07.93\00:08:11.11 favorite, Gorilla Glue will hold, Gorilla Glue is 00:08:11.15\00:08:14.30 better than Krazy glue. 00:08:14.34\00:08:15.77 So we have a big whole thing of Gorilla Glue at our house, 00:08:15.80\00:08:18.93 I love Gorilla Glue. 00:08:18.96\00:08:20.32 But I thought about nails, nail guns. 00:08:20.35\00:08:25.51 I did a project just a little bit ago in my wife's closet, 00:08:25.54\00:08:28.82 I put up one of those closet organizers deals. 00:08:28.85\00:08:32.93 You have to have a Ph. D. in physics to put those things 00:08:32.96\00:08:35.93 together, you follow the directions and you are drilling 00:08:35.97\00:08:39.54 holes, and fastening them A. to flange B., you are connecting 00:08:39.57\00:08:43.11 and trying to reconnect. 00:08:43.15\00:08:44.17 I said that I had a Masters degree in theology and almost a 00:08:44.21\00:08:48.03 Ph. D. in communications and I can't put this thing together, 00:08:48.07\00:08:51.86 it was tough. 00:08:51.89\00:08:53.38 But I thought about what was nailed to the cross. 00:08:53.41\00:08:57.10 What got nailed to the cross, in other words what did 00:08:57.14\00:09:00.80 Christ do to end the old system? 00:09:00.83\00:09:03.68 So my first text is Colossians 2 00:09:03.71\00:09:06.49 What book did I say? The book is Colossians. 00:09:06.52\00:09:09.08 Let's look at the term first and find where the term 00:09:09.11\00:09:12.15 was found, I'm in Colossians 2:14, 00:09:12.18\00:09:15.32 let's read the word of God: 00:09:15.35\00:09:16.32 so there we see the term. 00:09:35.10\00:09:36.52 There were certain things the Bible says that were 00:09:36.56\00:09:39.84 nailed to the cross. 00:09:39.87\00:09:41.67 And since the Bible is its best explainer, 00:09:41.71\00:09:44.58 the text says that there were certain things that 00:09:44.62\00:09:47.15 Christ took out of the way, nailing them to the cross. 00:09:47.18\00:09:50.89 The term simply means that there were certain practices 00:09:50.92\00:09:54.57 that were done in the Old Testament by the ancient Hebrews 00:09:54.61\00:09:58.90 that Christ brought to an end by His sacrifice on the cross, 00:09:58.93\00:10:03.19 Can you say Amen? Is that clear? 00:10:03.22\00:10:04.78 Alright are you with me? 00:10:04.82\00:10:06.15 So there are certain things that had their fulfillment in 00:10:06.19\00:10:09.15 Christ's death on the cross. 00:10:09.18\00:10:11.31 The idea is that at the cross, certain practices stopped, 00:10:11.34\00:10:16.55 they stopped because they had their 00:10:16.58\00:10:18.68 fulfillment in Christ, more accurately they had 00:10:18.71\00:10:22.07 their fulfillment in the death of Christ. 00:10:22.11\00:10:25.24 There were certain things that were going on, certain rules, 00:10:25.27\00:10:28.97 certain regulations, certain statutes that looked forward, 00:10:29.00\00:10:32.66 in Faith, to what Christ was going to do. 00:10:32.70\00:10:35.67 When Christ actually did it, then those things that looked 00:10:35.71\00:10:38.99 forward, in Faith, came to their end. 00:10:39.03\00:10:41.97 Now there are really five great laws in our universe, 00:10:42.01\00:10:46.77 in our world, five great laws. 00:10:46.81\00:10:49.35 The first we would call natural laws, or the law of nature. 00:10:49.39\00:10:53.40 The law of gravity is one of those laws. 00:10:53.43\00:10:57.06 If unaltered by any other circumstances, every time 00:10:57.10\00:11:01.59 I toss this microphone up is going to do what? 00:11:01.62\00:11:04.04 It is going to come down, and I need not to toss it 00:11:04.08\00:11:06.32 up too much because My technicians are having a 00:11:06.35\00:11:08.56 little worry because I may drop it. 00:11:08.60\00:11:10.79 So I will not toss it up too much. 00:11:10.82\00:11:12.94 Every time I toss this microphone up, the brethren 00:11:12.97\00:11:15.48 are looking at me, it is going to come down. 00:11:15.52\00:11:17.95 Because it is subject to the law of gravity. 00:11:17.98\00:11:20.38 That is a natural law. 00:11:20.41\00:11:21.91 There are many of those kinds of laws, there is friction, 00:11:21.95\00:11:24.78 there's traction, entropy, inertia. 00:11:24.81\00:11:27.81 There are certain kinds of laws of physics. 00:11:27.85\00:11:30.62 I did a little flying when I was a bit younger, 00:11:30.66\00:11:33.13 there is a law that keeps the plane in the air, 00:11:33.17\00:11:35.65 that deals with airflow, how air flows over a wing. 00:11:35.69\00:11:38.11 The air that is moving over top of the wing is moving faster 00:11:38.14\00:11:41.40 than the air under the wing which actually creates a 00:11:41.44\00:11:43.80 reversed gravity which lifts the plane up. 00:11:43.83\00:11:45.83 I cannot remember the name of that law, 00:11:45.86\00:11:47.78 but when you study flying and go to ground school, 00:11:47.82\00:11:50.38 you have to learn that law because it is a law that 00:11:50.42\00:11:52.94 keeps the plane in the air. 00:11:52.98\00:11:54.79 So there are natural laws that God has put in place 00:11:54.82\00:11:57.82 to keep our world regulated. 00:11:57.85\00:12:00.06 They are in movable, they do not change, 00:12:00.10\00:12:02.46 they are natural laws. 00:12:02.50\00:12:03.98 If you break natural law, you usually end up in 00:12:04.02\00:12:08.11 the hospital because natural laws are there 00:12:08.15\00:12:12.21 to keep you safe. 00:12:12.25\00:12:14.20 So if you jump out of a window that is 2 or 3 stories up, 00:12:14.24\00:12:18.02 natural law will take over and you are going to 00:12:18.06\00:12:21.25 end up in the hospital. 00:12:21.28\00:12:22.90 That is if you land on your feet, if you land on your head 00:12:22.94\00:12:25.66 something else may happen. 00:12:25.70\00:12:27.82 But those are natural laws. 00:12:27.86\00:12:29.92 Then the second great body of law is civil law. 00:12:29.95\00:12:33.56 We look at that Romans 13:1, Romans 13:1 tells us: 00:12:33.60\00:12:37.17 that justifies government, the idea of government 00:12:51.71\00:12:57.81 is God ordained. 00:12:57.84\00:12:59.44 You have to have rules and regulations in order to run 00:12:59.48\00:13:04.66 society, so the idea that you have a governing body and people 00:13:04.70\00:13:08.72 are subject to that government come from God. 00:13:08.76\00:13:12.64 Now I need to hasten to say, all governments are not 00:13:12.67\00:13:17.60 ordained by God. 00:13:17.63\00:13:19.01 Hitler and the Nazi regime, that was not God ordained. 00:13:19.04\00:13:23.63 Stalin, who killed 25 million of his own people, 00:13:23.66\00:13:27.21 not ordained by God. 00:13:27.25\00:13:28.92 Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, that was not ordained by God. 00:13:28.95\00:13:32.31 So particular governments may not be doing God's will, but the 00:13:32.34\00:13:37.34 idea that there is a government that gives laws and regulates 00:13:37.38\00:13:42.34 for the people, that is ordained by God. 00:13:42.38\00:13:44.60 Remember back in Israel's time, in the days of the judges there 00:13:44.64\00:13:48.47 was, or before the days of the judges, Israel was a theocracy 00:13:48.51\00:13:52.06 getting direct orders from God through a system of Priests. 00:13:52.09\00:13:55.55 But they looked at the Canaanite tribes around them and said 00:13:55.58\00:13:59.18 they had kings and we want a king just like they have a king, 00:13:59.21\00:14:02.78 so God said I will give you what you want. 00:14:02.81\00:14:05.54 But you are not going to like it. 00:14:05.57\00:14:06.93 So, of course, the first king was King Saul and immediately 00:14:06.97\00:14:10.28 things began to go bad. 00:14:10.31\00:14:12.15 The idea of government comes from God, though every 00:14:12.19\00:14:16.58 particular government does not come with God's blessing. 00:14:16.62\00:14:20.44 Which is why God sets up King's and takes kings down 00:14:20.47\00:14:24.25 as He chooses and as He pleases. 00:14:24.29\00:14:27.39 Green light says go, red light says stop, 00:14:27.43\00:14:31.46 yellow light says caution. 00:14:31.50\00:14:33.25 That is a government law and if you obey those 00:14:33.29\00:14:36.64 laws you are fine. 00:14:36.68\00:14:38.70 What if you got up one day and determined, I think for me 00:14:38.74\00:14:41.30 red light means go, how far you going to go? 00:14:41.33\00:14:45.31 You are not going to go very far. 00:14:45.34\00:14:48.31 If you don't hit somebody the police will stop you, 00:14:48.35\00:14:52.32 they take a dim view of individuals who go on red. 00:14:52.35\00:14:56.29 I know, when I was younger I tried that once, 00:14:56.32\00:14:59.11 you get a very fat ticket for going on red. 00:14:59.15\00:15:01.90 They don't like that. 00:15:01.94\00:15:03.21 Speed limit 55 or 65, that is a government regulation. 00:15:03.24\00:15:08.32 Do you see what I am trying to say? 00:15:08.35\00:15:10.00 If we obey these things we are fine. 00:15:10.03\00:15:11.61 If we break civil law we go to jail, or we are fined, 00:15:11.64\00:15:17.63 or we are otherwise penalized by the government. 00:15:17.66\00:15:20.91 The third great set of laws are health laws. 00:15:20.94\00:15:24.12 They are laws that deal with how the world affects our body. 00:15:24.16\00:15:29.13 We talk about new start, nutrition, exercise, water, sun, 00:15:29.17\00:15:34.11 temperance, air, rest and trust in divine power are 00:15:34.15\00:15:37.86 laws of health. 00:15:37.90\00:15:39.04 If we do these things are lives are better. 00:15:39.07\00:15:41.53 We think clearer, we live longer, we are healthier, 00:15:41.56\00:15:45.31 we are more available to do the work of God while we are 00:15:45.35\00:15:47.91 alive, these are health laws that each of us needs to follow, 00:15:47.94\00:15:51.54 we talked about that the other night. 00:15:51.58\00:15:53.30 If we break the health laws we wind up in a hospital, 00:15:53.34\00:15:57.87 the sickbed or perhaps even the grave. 00:15:57.90\00:16:00.80 So all these laws have benefits and if we obey them, 00:16:00.84\00:16:04.18 and they have consequences if we break them. 00:16:04.22\00:16:07.29 When we speak of the Bible the laws generally fall into 00:16:07.33\00:16:13.63 two separate categories. 00:16:13.66\00:16:15.59 What did I say, how many? 00:16:15.63\00:16:17.49 Two, we speak of moral laws or the moral law and we also 00:16:17.53\00:16:26.32 speak of ceremonial laws. 00:16:26.36\00:16:29.01 They are two separate bodies of law, 00:16:29.05\00:16:32.77 but they are vitally important. 00:16:32.80\00:16:35.52 Now why do we make a difference? 00:16:35.56\00:16:38.21 Well I make a difference between those two because 00:16:38.24\00:16:41.25 God makes a difference. 00:16:41.29\00:16:43.13 He separates the moral law from the ceremonial law. 00:16:43.17\00:16:46.85 Let's go to the book of Nehemiah, what book did I say? 00:16:46.89\00:16:50.53 I'm a Nehemiah 9:13,14 the word of God says: 00:16:50.57\00:17:00.17 so we are making a difference because the word of 00:17:31.81\00:17:34.67 God makes a difference. 00:17:34.71\00:17:36.71 We are drawing a line of separation because the word of 00:17:36.74\00:17:39.91 God draws a line of separation. 00:17:39.95\00:17:42.68 There are moral laws and there are ceremonial laws. 00:17:42.71\00:17:47.21 There is the Sabbath and that group of laws and then there are 00:17:47.25\00:17:50.73 other laws that were given to God's people. 00:17:50.77\00:17:54.10 So the Bible does make a difference, he even makes 00:17:54.13\00:17:58.02 a difference, or the Bible rather makes a difference 00:17:58.06\00:18:01.92 in where the laws were placed in the Ark, 00:18:01.95\00:18:05.84 once they were written. 00:18:05.88\00:18:07.67 Let's go to the book of Deuteronomy, 00:18:07.71\00:18:09.31 what book did I say? 00:18:09.35\00:18:10.41 The book is Deuteronomy 31: 24-26, and let's read 00:18:10.44\00:18:14.35 from the word of God. 00:18:14.38\00:18:15.35 Now two things I want you to know here. 00:18:41.95\00:18:43.05 One is where this particular law is placed, it was placed 00:18:43.09\00:18:47.45 beside or inside of the Ark, on the side of the Ark and the 00:18:47.48\00:18:52.41 Bible said Moses said to them keep it there so it will be a 00:18:52.45\00:18:57.35 witness against you. 00:18:57.38\00:19:00.04 Now the reason we are highlighting that word against, 00:19:00.08\00:19:01.92 is because we are going to see it again. 00:19:01.95\00:19:03.60 It is going to come back again and we need to 00:19:03.63\00:19:07.36 make special note of it. 00:19:07.40\00:19:08.85 So then this body of work written by Moses contains 00:19:08.89\00:19:14.14 ceremonies, and rules, and regulations, and Feast days, 00:19:14.18\00:19:18.71 and festivals, and certain civil things that were to 00:19:18.74\00:19:23.24 be done in case they were infractions. 00:19:23.27\00:19:25.65 All of this body of law was written by Moses at God's 00:19:25.68\00:19:29.67 direction and placed in the side of the Ark. 00:19:29.71\00:19:33.40 Amen, do you understand? You're following me, very good. 00:19:33.44\00:19:36.46 Exodus 31:18, let's go to it very quickly. 00:19:36.49\00:19:43.98 Alright let's look at the difference one was a group of 00:20:00.30\00:20:04.97 laws and regulations written by Moses, written in Moses hand, 00:20:05.01\00:20:11.65 with Moses hand, at God's direction and placed in the 00:20:11.68\00:20:16.10 side of the Ark. 00:20:16.13\00:20:18.18 The second body of law was written by God Himself 00:20:18.21\00:20:23.08 on tables of stone, and given to Moses. 00:20:23.11\00:20:27.50 So we are talking about two separate bodies of law, 00:20:27.54\00:20:31.71 and I am laboring on that point because just the other day 00:20:31.74\00:20:34.34 I heard someone say that the ceremonial law and 00:20:34.37\00:20:38.16 the Ten Commandments are the same. 00:20:38.19\00:20:40.14 But the Bible makes it clear that one group of laws 00:20:40.17\00:20:44.47 were written by Moses and placed in the side, the second group 00:20:44.50\00:20:49.23 was written by God Himself on tables of stone 00:20:49.26\00:20:52.74 and given to Moses and placed under the mercy seat. 00:20:52.77\00:20:56.69 Is that clear? Do you understand that? 00:20:56.73\00:20:58.65 Do you accept that? If you do say Amen! 00:20:58.69\00:21:00.55 A little bit louder, praise the Lord, I know you are with me. 00:21:00.58\00:21:04.05 So we have two sets of rules and regulations. 00:21:04.08\00:21:07.34 Many of these having their fulfillment in 00:21:07.37\00:21:10.60 Christ on the cross. 00:21:10.63\00:21:12.41 Rules and regulations, including a group of rules and 00:21:12.45\00:21:17.14 regulations is a little thing found in Exodus 21 where it says 00:21:17.17\00:21:20.46 an eye for an eye, and a tooth for tooth. 00:21:20.49\00:21:22.41 That is in that other group of regulations and I was doing a 00:21:22.45\00:21:25.78 study on that and people often say an eye for 00:21:25.82\00:21:28.59 an eye and a tooth for tooth but the Bible is saying let the 00:21:28.63\00:21:31.56 punishment fit the crime. 00:21:31.59\00:21:33.09 In the Canaanite law, for almost any infraction you could 00:21:33.13\00:21:38.40 surrender your life. 00:21:38.43\00:21:39.62 If you make a little mistake, you have to die. 00:21:39.65\00:21:41.89 So the Bible was saying, an eye for eye. 00:21:41.92\00:21:44.56 If I break your arm, by mistake, don't take my life. 00:21:44.59\00:21:48.07 Punishment for punishment only eye for eye, 00:21:48.11\00:21:50.73 not a knife for eye, eye for eye, let the punishment 00:21:50.76\00:21:54.01 fit the infraction. 00:21:54.04\00:21:55.64 And that is part of that group of laws, eye for eye and tooth 00:21:55.67\00:21:58.34 for tooth, if you knock out a tooth well tooth for a tooth, 00:21:58.38\00:22:01.01 not life for a tooth. 00:22:01.05\00:22:02.32 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, in other words 00:22:02.35\00:22:04.07 don't go overboard with the punishment, 00:22:04.10\00:22:05.78 do justly and love mercy. 00:22:05.81\00:22:07.29 That's part of that group of laws and it works 00:22:07.32\00:22:09.13 even until this day. 00:22:09.17\00:22:10.14 So these laws are beneficial to all men in all ages and we 00:22:10.15\00:22:14.34 don't need to stress the idea too much that the 00:22:14.38\00:22:17.37 Ten Commandments are transcript of the character of God. 00:22:17.41\00:22:22.50 They are as unchangeable as is God's character. 00:22:22.54\00:22:26.40 Malachi 3:6, it is a text we have used before and 00:22:26.44\00:22:30.27 we will restate it. 00:22:30.30\00:22:31.61 The Ten Commandments were written on stone by the 00:22:38.44\00:22:41.32 finger of God, the hand of God and they are an expression of 00:22:41.35\00:22:46.04 the mind of God and are as unchangeable as is God Himself. 00:22:46.07\00:22:50.32 It will always be wrong to lie, it will always be wrong to 00:22:50.36\00:22:53.98 steal, it will always be wrong to covet and do some of these 00:22:54.01\00:22:57.59 things mentioned in the Ten Commandments. 00:22:57.63\00:22:59.17 They were wrong when they were written, and ladies and 00:22:59.20\00:23:01.42 gentlemen they are wrong today, can you say Amen? 00:23:01.45\00:23:05.46 Aren't you glad that we don't serve a changeable God? 00:23:05.50\00:23:09.44 Aren't you glad that every time you go to God, He is the same? 00:23:09.47\00:23:12.63 And that God never has a bad day? 00:23:12.67\00:23:15.41 Anytime you go to Jesus He's there, He's willing, He's able, 00:23:15.44\00:23:19.13 and He is more willing, the Bible says, 00:23:19.17\00:23:20.70 to give us good gifts than our own earthly parents 00:23:20.73\00:23:23.95 are to do for us. 00:23:23.99\00:23:25.55 I'm so glad that I serve a consistent God. 00:23:25.59\00:23:28.43 One who does not change. 00:23:28.47\00:23:30.31 So then let's go to Revelation 22, what book did I say? 00:23:30.34\00:23:34.36 Now we have to move along, Revelation 22:14, 00:23:34.39\00:23:38.62 the word of God says. 00:23:38.66\00:23:40.39 Now of course the book of Revelation was written by John 00:23:49.52\00:23:51.60 the Revelator somewhere between 95 and 100 AD. 00:23:51.64\00:23:57.01 So Christ had been gone, ascended for about 65 years. 00:23:57.05\00:24:01.33 John is still writing about keeping the Commandments 00:24:01.36\00:24:05.57 and so John did not envision a time when the Commandments were 00:24:05.61\00:24:10.22 not to be kept because well after Christ had died and 00:24:10.25\00:24:13.32 ascended, at the close of the first century, John is writing 00:24:13.36\00:24:16.34 that we still ought to keep the Commandments of God. 00:24:16.38\00:24:19.77 So John never thought about a time when the Commandments were 00:24:19.81\00:24:22.42 not going to be kept. 00:24:22.46\00:24:23.54 Or that the Commandments were not going to be enforced. 00:24:23.58\00:24:25.42 Even half-century later John is saying Blessed are 00:24:25.45\00:24:29.81 they who do, who do what? Who do, who do, say it, 00:24:29.85\00:24:34.17 say it again, who, one more time, who, who, 00:24:34.20\00:24:38.64 who do His Commandments that they may have a right to 00:24:38.68\00:24:42.39 the tree of life. 00:24:42.43\00:24:43.70 John realized the eternal and unchanging nature of the moral 00:24:43.73\00:24:48.62 law, the Ten Commandments, ladies and gentlemen 00:24:48.65\00:24:52.44 are still enforced today. Can you say Amen? 00:24:52.47\00:24:56.22 James calls them the law of liberty. 00:24:56.26\00:25:00.25 James says that they do not bind you down, they free 00:25:00.28\00:25:03.89 you from this world and from the penalty of sin. 00:25:03.93\00:25:07.62 Paul says the Commandments are holy, they are just, 00:25:07.65\00:25:11.31 and they are good. 00:25:11.35\00:25:13.05 It will always be wrong to lie, always wrong to cheat, always 00:25:13.09\00:25:17.29 wrong to steal and nobody has any problem with that, why then 00:25:17.33\00:25:21.45 do we have a problem with little ole Commandment number four? 00:25:21.49\00:25:25.57 We except one, two, three, five, six, seven, eight, nine, what 00:25:33.65\00:25:40.12 is the matter with four? 00:25:40.16\00:25:42.07 The Commandments are not like a Chinese menu, 00:25:45.23\00:25:47.47 you take them all, and James says if you break one, 00:25:47.51\00:25:51.43 you break them all. 00:25:51.46\00:25:54.21 But what about those regulations that were put in the 00:25:54.24\00:25:59.32 side of the Ark? 00:25:59.35\00:26:00.75 I think you understand and accept with me that the 00:26:00.79\00:26:03.61 Commandments are still in force. 00:26:03.65\00:26:06.46 The question comes up that other body of laws placed 00:26:06.49\00:26:10.02 in the side of the Ark. 00:26:10.06\00:26:11.15 What about these ordinances, these feasts, these sacrifices, 00:26:11.18\00:26:14.59 these meat, drink, and grain offerings that look forward to 00:26:14.62\00:26:17.99 the sacrifice of Christ. 00:26:18.03\00:26:19.41 Let me give you an example, I am in the book of Leviticus, 00:26:19.44\00:26:21.53 what book did I say? 00:26:21.56\00:26:22.53 I am in Leviticus 5:5-7, turn with me in Leviticus. 00:26:22.54\00:26:29.64 Let's read the word of God. 00:26:32.56\00:26:34.29 Leviticus says that there are certain regulations 00:27:20.37\00:27:24.99 we have to do if we have sinned. 00:27:25.03\00:27:27.33 Has anybody brought with him tonight a lamb? 00:27:27.36\00:27:31.38 Any turtledoves? Pigeons? Goats? 00:27:34.97\00:27:37.65 Why have you not done that? Because it is unnecessary! 00:27:37.68\00:27:46.31 Why is it unnecessary? Because someone has done something 00:27:46.34\00:27:54.93 to make that unnecessary. 00:27:54.97\00:27:58.30 The someone is, Jesus. 00:27:58.33\00:28:01.60 What did He do? He sacrificed His life! 00:28:01.63\00:28:06.15 Jesus died, Jesus made a sacrifice that was complete 00:28:06.18\00:28:11.86 and thorough so now when I sin, instead of going to church, 00:28:11.90\00:28:17.92 dragging a lamb, or a ram, or dove, or a sheep, 00:28:17.95\00:28:23.34 I go to Jesus. Amen! 00:28:23.38\00:28:26.74 I fall on my knees at the feet of the Savior, and the moment 00:28:26.78\00:28:32.42 I fall down, if I confess my sins, the Bible says 00:28:32.46\00:28:37.15 He is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse. 00:28:37.19\00:28:41.05 Praise God! You see that ought to make you happy. 00:28:41.09\00:28:44.25 If I were a jumping preacher I would jump right down 00:28:44.29\00:28:47.42 off this pulpit right now. 00:28:47.46\00:28:48.74 Because that is a good piece of news, it says I do not have to 00:28:48.77\00:28:52.18 slip the throat of a poor lamb and drain out it's blood, 00:28:52.22\00:28:54.68 all I have to do is get down on my knees and say 00:28:54.71\00:28:58.51 Jesus I have sinned. 00:28:58.54\00:29:00.06 I have made a mistake would You please forgive me? 00:29:00.10\00:29:03.65 The Bible says the moment I come to Jesus in faith, 00:29:03.69\00:29:07.21 Jesus writes down next to my name in heaven, 00:29:07.24\00:29:09.50 P A R D O N E D, pardoned. Amen! So it is not necessary now. 00:29:09.53\00:29:19.18 Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy are full of rules 00:29:19.21\00:29:23.59 and regulations and sacrifices and offerings and ordinances 00:29:23.63\00:29:27.46 that were entered into in faith. 00:29:27.50\00:29:31.06 They were done in faith looking forward to what 00:29:31.10\00:29:34.17 Jesus was going to do. 00:29:34.20\00:29:35.44 But Christ then would be the true sacrifice. 00:29:35.47\00:29:37.55 So let's jump over to the book of Hebrews, I'm in Hebrews 9, 00:29:37.59\00:29:42.04 remember I told you that the book of Hebrews was written to 00:29:44.17\00:29:46.20 Hebrew Christians who were in danger of sliding back 00:29:46.24\00:29:49.15 into the old Jewish ways? 00:29:49.18\00:29:50.78 So Paul wrote to the Hebrew Christians and one of the most 00:29:50.81\00:29:54.46 important things he said is in Hebrews 9:11, 12. 00:29:54.49\00:29:58.52 Can you say Amen? Praise God! 00:30:26.81\00:30:29.03 Paul is stressing the point, he is begging the point. 00:30:29.06\00:30:32.93 He is saying over and over again, you had bulls and goats 00:30:32.96\00:30:36.76 and rams and lambs and doves, now we've got Jesus. Praise God! 00:30:36.79\00:30:42.34 We have got Jesus and those rams and lambs and bulls and goats 00:30:42.37\00:30:47.88 could not really cleanse from sin. 00:30:47.92\00:30:50.46 It was a stopgap measure, it was a tie-over measure. 00:30:50.50\00:30:55.23 It was something to keep you until the real thing came along. 00:30:55.27\00:30:59.69 I had a student in Oakland College we went to visit 00:30:59.72\00:31:02.08 this lady that was famous for cooking meals. 00:31:02.12\00:31:04.40 She could satisfy any college student, you know when you're in 00:31:04.44\00:31:07.75 college as a student, Pastor Jim, you know when you were a 00:31:07.78\00:31:11.06 freshman until the time you graduate you are 00:31:11.10\00:31:12.56 hungry all the time. 00:31:12.59\00:31:13.56 You are never satisfied, any boys in college you are hungry 00:31:13.57\00:31:16.09 for 4 years, you never get enough food. 00:31:16.13\00:31:17.81 And this lady was famous for being able to satisfy young 00:31:17.85\00:31:22.52 college men, so we went her house one day. 00:31:22.55\00:31:24.40 Four of us and we said bring it on, the contest begin. 00:31:24.43\00:31:28.51 She went in the kitchen and she did little rumbling 00:31:28.54\00:31:30.13 and came out with a little plate of macaroni and cheese, 00:31:30.17\00:31:32.29 and a little plate of something else, a little plate of 00:31:32.32\00:31:34.39 vegetarian meat and we sat back and said, are you kidding? 00:31:34.43\00:31:36.47 This little bit of food. How is this going to satisfy us? 00:31:36.50\00:31:39.51 And we laughed at her, but you see what she was doing that 00:31:39.55\00:31:42.86 which is the stopgap measure, a little thing to hold us over 00:31:42.90\00:31:46.18 until she loaded the big gun. 00:31:46.21\00:31:48.15 So we cleaned up those little plates and they were 00:31:48.19\00:31:50.93 just gone and sat back and said this is ridiculous, 00:31:50.96\00:31:53.67 we are still hungry. 00:31:53.70\00:31:54.89 And then she came out with a big pan of macaroni and cheese, 00:31:54.92\00:31:58.33 and a big pan of collard greens, and big pan of greens, 00:31:58.36\00:32:00.98 and a big pan of vegetables, and a big pan of vegetarian 00:32:01.01\00:32:04.03 meat and we ate until we had to wave the white flag 00:32:04.07\00:32:07.02 and say we can't take anymore. And then she brought in the 00:32:07.06\00:32:10.34 desert and we slid under the 00:32:10.38\00:32:12.54 table because there was just so much food. 00:32:12.57\00:32:14.61 Well that is what the Bible is saying here, those goats, and 00:32:14.64\00:32:19.64 the lambs, and Rams, that was an appetizer, a stopgap measure 00:32:19.67\00:32:24.64 until the real thing was to come along. 00:32:24.67\00:32:26.49 That real thing which Jesus Himself. 00:32:27.47\00:32:30.11 When the real thing came along there was no need for the 00:32:30.15\00:32:33.72 appetizers anymore because the main course was being served 00:32:33.75\00:32:37.37 ladies and gentlemen, after the main course, dinner is through. 00:32:37.41\00:32:40.99 So Paul is saying that once and for all Christ made this 00:32:44.03\00:32:46.37 sacrifice and there is no need for any other because He is the 00:32:46.41\00:32:49.23 complete and total sacrifice. 00:32:49.27\00:32:51.64 The blood of bulls and goats and rams could never do it, 00:32:51.68\00:32:54.51 but Jesus could. 00:32:54.54\00:32:55.93 Let's go back to Hebrews 9:9, 10 this time. 00:32:55.96\00:32:59.85 So God is saying to his people, these things were good, 00:33:36.54\00:33:40.39 but when Christ came they are no good anymore. 00:33:40.43\00:33:43.88 When the full meal comes you don't want just a little 00:33:43.91\00:33:46.86 appetizer, you want the real thing and that of course, 00:33:46.90\00:33:49.82 is Jesus Christ. 00:33:49.85\00:33:51.06 The Living Bible paraphrases so well and in fact the Living 00:33:51.09\00:33:54.40 Bible does say, it is like a little appetizer, 00:33:54.43\00:33:56.31 a little faith before the real meal. 00:33:56.34\00:33:58.41 So they were types, they were shadows, they were looking 00:33:58.45\00:34:04.19 forward to the coming of Christ. 00:34:04.22\00:34:05.89 But I say again that when Christ came these things came to an 00:34:05.92\00:34:11.37 end. Is that clear? Do you understand me? 00:34:11.41\00:34:13.63 Are you with me on that? 00:34:13.66\00:34:14.63 I need you to understand that because there is a lot 00:34:14.64\00:34:16.69 of things going around today. 00:34:16.73\00:34:18.17 These things indeed did come to an end, but these do not touch 00:34:18.20\00:34:23.36 on the Ten Commandments of God which are eternal, 00:34:23.39\00:34:26.13 ladies and gentlemen, which came right on through. 00:34:26.16\00:34:28.83 Christ didn't died to bring an end to the Ten Commandments, 00:34:28.86\00:34:32.44 He lived up to the dictate of the Ten Commandments and then 00:34:32.48\00:34:35.87 ministers in our behalf and heavenly courts to this day. 00:34:35.90\00:34:39.26 So we have two things equally important. 00:34:39.29\00:34:43.87 We have the Ten Commandments and we have laws and ordinances 00:34:43.90\00:34:48.82 and I want to go now to the book of Colossians 2, let's jump 00:34:48.86\00:34:53.74 to Colossians, again, 2:14, 15. Here we go. 00:34:53.78\00:35:00.96 Now what is this text saying? 00:35:44.05\00:35:45.74 Simply that those ordinances, that we have just discussed at 00:35:45.77\00:35:51.18 length, those practices that look forward to the coming of 00:35:51.22\00:35:57.08 Christ, met their fulfillment in Christ and then as such ended 00:35:57.12\00:36:02.95 when Christ gave His life on the cross. 00:36:02.98\00:36:05.54 I need that to be thoroughly understood. 00:36:05.57\00:36:08.06 This text does not envision the Ten Commandments. 00:36:08.10\00:36:12.08 Can you say Amen? 00:36:12.11\00:36:13.29 Now there's some scholars that define this text as the hand 00:36:13.32\00:36:18.76 writing of a sin debt, and that is true. 00:36:18.80\00:36:22.10 Christ did indeed blot out and take care of and an annulled our 00:36:22.13\00:36:26.90 debt of sin on the cross, but it does not nullify the fact 00:36:26.93\00:36:31.42 that it also encompasses and accepts the fact that Christ 00:36:31.46\00:36:35.91 also ended those things which looked forward to His 00:36:35.95\00:36:39.40 death on the cross. 00:36:39.44\00:36:41.07 Why are they against us? Because if you are doing things to 00:36:41.11\00:36:46.96 try and earn favor of Jesus, or be acceptable to God, 00:36:47.00\00:36:51.75 that is legalism and unacceptable to God. 00:36:51.79\00:36:55.51 If Jesus says, simply come to Me and confess your sins and your 00:36:55.54\00:37:00.71 are still dragging around lambs and rams and doves and goats, 00:37:00.75\00:37:05.89 you are saying to Jesus, Your sacrifice is not 00:37:05.92\00:37:09.56 good enough for me. 00:37:09.60\00:37:10.69 You are saying I am going to have to do something on my 00:37:10.73\00:37:14.34 own to gain favor with God. 00:37:14.37\00:37:16.89 Jesus has said I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, 00:37:16.93\00:37:23.33 no one comes to the Father except through Me. 00:37:23.36\00:37:27.06 So if you are trying to go to God any other way except through 00:37:27.09\00:37:30.25 Jesus, you are not going to get there ladies and gentlemen. 00:37:30.29\00:37:34.25 And so lambs and rams and goats and doves don't suffice 00:37:34.29\00:37:38.19 anymore because we have Jesus and that is what the whole book 00:37:38.22\00:37:42.41 of Hebrews is all about. It is now all about Jesus, Amen! 00:37:42.44\00:37:46.32 Let's go back to Deuteronomy, we are going to do a little 00:37:46.35\00:37:50.19 Bible hopping, Deuteronomy 31:26. 00:37:50.23\00:37:51.92 Do you remember we talked about that word against you? 00:38:06.84\00:38:09.18 Where did we see against you? 00:38:09.21\00:38:11.44 We just saw in Colossians 2, let's do a little 00:38:11.48\00:38:16.68 bit of work here. 00:38:16.72\00:38:18.55 Moses said in Deuteronomy 31, put this body of work in the 00:38:18.58\00:38:24.93 side of the Ark to serve as a witness against you. 00:38:24.97\00:38:29.60 Colossians says 2:14, "blotting out the hand writing of the 00:38:29.64\00:38:36.31 requirement, or ordinances, that was against us. " 00:38:36.34\00:38:40.20 See the same terminology? 00:38:40.23\00:38:42.08 Same terminology, so then that body of law that was against us 00:38:42.11\00:38:48.38 was put in the side of the Ark. 00:38:48.42\00:38:51.13 That body of law that stopped at the cross was against us, 00:38:51.16\00:38:57.51 do you see the same words? 00:38:57.54\00:38:58.76 So then that body of law, that was against us, that was put in 00:38:58.80\00:39:04.50 the side of the Ark, was the ceremonial law. 00:39:04.53\00:39:07.71 Does that make sense? Is it clearer? 00:39:07.74\00:39:10.59 It is the ceremonial law not the Ten Commandments. 00:39:10.62\00:39:14.38 So those who say that the Ten Commandments and the ceremonial 00:39:14.41\00:39:18.74 law are the same simply don't understand this point. 00:39:18.78\00:39:22.50 They were placed into different parts of the Ark, because God 00:39:22.54\00:39:26.26 wanted them to be separate, because God knew that one of 00:39:26.30\00:39:29.33 them would come to the end the day Jesus bowed His head 00:39:29.37\00:39:32.37 and died and said, "it is finished". 00:39:32.40\00:39:35.71 The other one would be eternal. 00:39:35.75\00:39:37.92 The other one would go on as long as there was a God 00:39:37.95\00:39:40.05 there is always going to be a law. 00:39:40.08\00:39:41.26 Just like you can't change who you are without power 00:39:41.30\00:39:43.87 of God, you are who you are or what God is making you. 00:39:43.90\00:39:46.64 God is what He is, God doesn't change and His law does not 00:39:46.67\00:39:49.37 change, praise God! 00:39:49.40\00:39:51.11 So then these laws are done away with, that includes the 00:39:53.67\00:39:59.21 feasts, the washings, all of those things that are part 00:39:59.24\00:40:04.74 of the ceremonial system. 00:40:04.78\00:40:06.92 Let's to Hebrews 1, I am going to skip a couple texts 00:40:06.96\00:40:08.92 because my time is getting away from me. 00:40:08.96\00:40:13.00 Hebrews 1:1, 2. Let's read the word of God. 00:40:13.03\00:40:17.03 So Hebrews, right out of the gate as it were, puts the weight 00:40:34.91\00:40:39.30 on Jesus, it is not about sacrifices anymore, 00:40:39.34\00:40:41.83 it is not about feast days anymore, it's not about 00:40:41.87\00:40:44.86 regulations and regimes and working and cutting and bleeding 00:40:44.89\00:40:50.67 it's about the shed blood of Jesus Christ. 00:40:50.70\00:40:53.25 Do you understand that? 00:40:53.29\00:40:54.48 It is very crucial because there are those who are trying to 00:40:54.51\00:40:57.94 say you need to work your way to heaven. 00:40:57.98\00:40:59.57 You need to try, you need to fight against sin. 00:40:59.60\00:41:01.79 You do not need to do that, it is like that lady said before, 00:41:01.82\00:41:04.03 how do I surrender? 00:41:04.06\00:41:05.54 That is the key, it is giving your life over to Jesus and 00:41:05.58\00:41:08.73 allowing Jesus to work in you, and through you, 00:41:08.77\00:41:11.47 and to you, and with you, and allowing God to do for 00:41:11.51\00:41:14.56 you what you cannot do for yourself. 00:41:14.59\00:41:17.47 And that is to save you in His kingdom. 00:41:17.51\00:41:20.32 He has in these last days spoken to us by His Son. 00:41:20.35\00:41:22.87 So Paul sets the foundation right there in the very 00:41:22.91\00:41:25.40 beginning, he is saying it is all about Jesus. 00:41:25.43\00:41:28.03 They had grain, lambs, rams, and pigeons, and doves. 00:41:28.06\00:41:32.42 Praise God we got Jesus. 00:41:32.46\00:41:36.14 Christ is better, Christ is the better sacrifice, 00:41:36.17\00:41:42.43 Christ is the complete sacrifice. 00:41:42.46\00:41:44.72 God gave His Son, Jesus is truly heaven's greatest 00:41:44.76\00:41:48.74 gift ladies and gentlemen, and when God gave us Jesus, 00:41:48.77\00:41:52.72 He gave heavens all, can you say Amen? 00:41:52.75\00:41:55.96 Hebrews 8:12, just a couple more texts. 00:41:56.00\00:41:59.17 He is saying, this is it. 00:42:28.90\00:42:31.38 This is all there is, it is all about Jesus. 00:42:31.41\00:42:35.52 Now let's harmonize that with Colossians 2:16, 00:42:35.55\00:42:39.59 we have a lot of text, I hope you are writing them down. 00:42:39.62\00:42:41.39 Colossians 2:16, let's go to Colossians 2:16. 00:42:41.43\00:42:43.81 Now that goes back to something we talked about the other 00:42:57.65\00:43:00.59 night, therefore, therefore let one judge you, 00:43:00.63\00:43:04.54 eat, drink, Sabbaths, new Moons. 00:43:04.58\00:43:08.42 There are those that say this means you can eat anything, 00:43:08.45\00:43:12.79 you can drink anything, and the Sabbath is done away with. 00:43:12.82\00:43:16.74 I want to pull out the pins from under that right now. 00:43:16.77\00:43:20.84 Because you always have to look at the context in which 00:43:20.87\00:43:24.91 something is written. 00:43:24.94\00:43:26.82 The context are sacrifices and festivals. 00:43:26.86\00:43:31.69 So when we talk about food and drink is talking about drink 00:43:31.72\00:43:37.19 offerings, meat offerings, not eat and drinking per se, 00:43:37.22\00:43:42.65 does that make sense? 00:43:42.69\00:43:44.74 The context is festivals, and the reason I know is because 00:43:44.77\00:43:49.52 later on it says, new moons and Sabbaths. 00:43:49.56\00:43:53.73 That is not the Sabbath, it's Sabbaths, 00:43:53.76\00:43:57.10 which were festival days, which were part 00:43:57.13\00:44:00.43 of that ceremonial system. 00:44:00.47\00:44:02.84 This is a little technical but it is something that 00:44:02.87\00:44:05.81 is important for us to know. 00:44:05.84\00:44:07.61 So this text does not say, as some have tried to make 00:44:07.64\00:44:11.76 it say, Christ died that you can eat squid, and octopus, 00:44:11.79\00:44:15.88 and lobster, or anything you want. 00:44:15.91\00:44:18.15 And you can drink alcohol and coffee and caffeinated things 00:44:18.19\00:44:22.65 which injure your body, that is not why Jesus 00:44:22.68\00:44:25.75 went to the cross. 00:44:25.78\00:44:27.10 He did not go to the cross to make alcohol acceptable. 00:44:27.14\00:44:30.90 He went to the cross to make you acceptable. 00:44:30.94\00:44:33.97 He didn't go to the cross to clean up the lobsters 00:44:34.00\00:44:37.09 and crayfish and crabs and oysters. 00:44:37.13\00:44:40.35 He went to the cross to clean up you and me, Amen! 00:44:40.39\00:44:43.88 This text does not say that, it is talking about 00:44:43.91\00:44:47.37 that ceremonial system. 00:44:47.40\00:44:48.99 It is say let nobody judge you in those things. 00:44:49.02\00:44:51.63 Don't get hung up upon those things anymore because Christ 00:44:51.67\00:44:54.86 has died now and you are free from all that. 00:44:54.90\00:44:58.20 You have got Jesus, can you say Amen? 00:44:58.24\00:45:01.41 Alright let's go quickly to Romans 8:34, and I have 00:45:01.44\00:45:05.00 to move really fast. 00:45:05.04\00:45:06.01 Romans 8:34, I am turning to a real quick in my Bible. 00:45:06.02\00:45:10.95 Praise God and we thank the Lord for that. 00:45:23.20\00:45:24.72 So Jesus now has made a complete sacrifice and He's in heaven 00:45:24.75\00:45:30.08 giving us the benefits of that sacrifice. 00:45:30.11\00:45:34.19 Back to Colossians, I know we are jumping back and forth but 00:45:36.93\00:45:39.39 we have to use all these texts so I hope you are writing them 00:45:39.42\00:45:41.84 down so that you can study them when you get a chance. 00:45:41.88\00:45:43.71 I'm in Colossians 2:16. 00:45:43.75\00:45:47.65 Oh is that 16, alright let's try to pull it together. 00:46:00.42\00:46:03.89 So let no one judge you in these things, new moons or 00:46:03.92\00:46:07.66 Sabbaths because they are done away with at the cross. 00:46:07.69\00:46:11.36 It is not the Sabbath, I want to re-emphasize, it is not the 00:46:11.39\00:46:14.84 Sabbath but a Sabbath, and those Sabbaths were done 00:46:14.88\00:46:19.15 away with at the cross. 00:46:19.19\00:46:20.72 Romans 7:23, and I think it will be my last text of the night, 00:46:20.75\00:46:23.75 Hebrews 7:23. 00:46:23.78\00:46:25.66 Here we go, Hebrews 7:23 and we are going down to 25. 00:46:26.56\00:46:29.48 That is the text that deserves to be underlined, 00:47:05.83\00:47:08.38 ladies and gentlemen. 00:47:08.42\00:47:09.47 Christ is making intercession for you, you don't have to make 00:47:09.50\00:47:13.38 intercession for yourself. 00:47:13.42\00:47:14.73 God is listening to His Son, pleading your case and mine, 00:47:14.76\00:47:20.25 and when we sin, we go to Jesus, Jesus intercedes to the Father 00:47:20.28\00:47:24.86 and we are forgiven and are right standing with God. 00:47:24.89\00:47:27.89 Amen! No more bulls, no more goats, no more lambs, no more 00:47:27.92\00:47:33.76 rams, only the Lamb that takes away the sins of 00:47:33.80\00:47:37.89 the world, your friend and mine, our Savior Jesus. 00:47:37.92\00:47:41.53 Do you let Him tonight? Do you really love Jesus? 00:47:41.56\00:47:45.13 Would you rather have Jesus? 00:47:45.16\00:47:48.50 Listen to the words of this song. 00:47:48.53\00:47:51.32 I'd rather have Jesus then Silver or Gold 00:48:13.41\00:48:22.94 I'd rather be His, then have riches untold 00:48:24.45\00:48:32.97 I'd rather have Jesus then houses or lands 00:48:36.80\00:48:45.62 I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hand 00:48:47.31\00:48:55.41 Than to be the king of the vast domain 00:48:57.69\00:49:07.47 or to be held in sins dread sway 00:49:08.89\00:49:16.33 I'd rather have Jesus then anything 00:49:19.61\00:49:28.86 this world affords today. 00:49:28.89\00:49:37.61 How many would truly rather have Jesus? 00:49:44.23\00:49:48.48 Do you think it is unreasonable for Jesus to ask you to turn 00:49:48.51\00:49:53.47 your back on the world and give Him your heart? 00:49:53.50\00:49:57.44 Do you think it is unreasonable when Christ says give Me one 00:49:59.00\00:50:03.53 seventh of your time? Give me 1 day out of 7? 00:50:03.57\00:50:08.80 I will give you blessings enough to keep you through the other 6. 00:50:08.83\00:50:15.05 Do you think it is unreasonable when Christ says, 00:50:15.08\00:50:20.20 give Me your body, give Me your life, keep it in good 00:50:20.23\00:50:26.18 working condition so that I can use you to touch somebody 00:50:26.21\00:50:32.12 who doesn't know about Me? 00:50:32.16\00:50:34.73 Do you think that is unreasonable? 00:50:34.77\00:50:37.02 Christ says give it to Me. 00:50:37.05\00:50:40.03 Than to be the king of vast domain 00:50:41.46\00:50:49.95 or to be held in sins dread sway 00:50:49.98\00:50:58.44 I'd rather have Jesus then anything 00:51:01.65\00:51:10.26 this world affords today 00:51:11.42\00:51:18.57 Do you really love Him? Stand with me if you do. 00:51:22.45\00:51:24.90 Stand with me 00:51:24.93\00:51:26.70 or be held in sins dread sway 00:51:29.25\00:51:38.20 would you rather have Jesus then anything 00:51:41.90\00:51:48.63 this world affords today, 00:51:50.22\00:51:57.96 this world affords, 00:52:00.35\00:52:07.81 this world affords today. 00:52:10.35\00:52:17.17 Shall we pray, Father God, we ask You to give us Jesus and 00:52:21.81\00:52:27.08 only Jesus, please take the world and give us Jesus. 00:52:27.12\00:52:32.31 We thank you that we are released from the past and 00:52:32.35\00:52:37.06 can look forward to a bright and gloriously future. 00:52:37.10\00:52:41.77 In Jesus name! Amen! 00:52:41.81\00:52:44.83
