Right. 00:01:35.36\00:01:39.86 And tell us a little bit about that program. 00:01:39.87\00:01:43.76 Well, it's a residential program. 00:01:43.77\00:01:46.01 You can't go there 00:01:46.02\00:01:47.19 and see a physician just for a consult. 00:01:47.20\00:01:49.29 There are great physicians there. 00:01:49.30\00:01:51.76 They can find out what your underlying problem is 00:01:51.77\00:01:54.48 and often treated through alternative means. 00:01:54.49\00:01:57.63 In other words, not necessarily just reaching 00:01:57.64\00:01:59.63 for prescription drugs or surgery right away, 00:01:59.64\00:02:03.07 sometimes there is other means 00:02:03.08\00:02:04.86 that can be as effective. 00:02:04.87\00:02:06.88 And so you could go there 00:02:06.89\00:02:08.43 and make a visit with and abundant evergreens around there. 00:03:32.68\00:03:36.75 So you have that fresh air mountains smell 00:03:36.76\00:03:40.31 and that actually is health restoring. 00:03:40.32\00:03:42.42 So you have the sunlight, the T is for temperance. 00:03:42.43\00:03:45.42 Temperance is actually utilizing 00:03:45.43\00:03:49.23 your frontal lobe of the brain 00:03:49.24\00:03:51.97 and you'll be able to utilize 00:03:51.98\00:03:53.36 your frontal lobe better by being at Weimar. 00:03:53.37\00:03:56.40 A temperance is moderation of the things that are healthy 00:03:56.41\00:03:59.15 and abstinence from things that are unhealthy 00:03:59.16\00:04:01.24 and you have the tools to be able to really adapt yourself 00:04:01.25\00:04:06.36 to an appropriate Lifestyle Program 00:04:06.37\00:04:08.51 that enhances your life. 00:04:08.52\00:04:09.70 I mean it's going to make you happier, healthier, 00:04:09.71\00:04:12.03 you gonna look better, 00:04:12.04\00:04:14.20 and you will also experience a great vacation type 00:04:14.21\00:04:18.76 atmosphere in the 18 days there. 00:04:18.77\00:04:22.20 So N-E-W-S-T-A-R... 00:04:22.21\00:04:24.88 The A is the fresh air, okay, air, property as well. 00:04:42.94\00:04:45.05 The R is for rest 00:04:45.06\00:04:46.79 and you will get adequate rest at Weimar 00:04:46.80\00:04:50.21 and you'll be able to open your doors to that fresh you know that program, 00:05:34.61\00:05:36.26 you know, just to give some history 00:05:36.27\00:05:37.78 that's been while around for a while. 00:05:37.79\00:05:39.60 I think that Newstart acronym 00:05:39.61\00:05:41.66 was originated by a patient, if I understand. 00:05:41.67\00:05:44.59 Yes, and it actually is owned by Weimar. 00:05:44.60\00:05:48.12 So if anyone says they have Newstart program 00:05:48.13\00:05:51.89 they really should have license 00:05:51.90\00:05:53.94 from Weimar Center of Healthand Education 00:05:53.95\00:05:55.99 because there are the owner 00:05:56.00\00:05:57.12 of the registered trademark term, 00:05:57.13\00:05:59.35 Newstart, utilizing those eight principles. 00:05:59.36\00:06:04.25 But yes, I believe it was a patient 00:06:04.26\00:06:06.78 that came up with this. 00:06:06.79\00:06:07.76 And Weimar has been around since 1978, 00:06:07.77\00:06:10.43 so has a long track record of success. 00:06:10.44\00:06:13.61 I 00:06:36.05\00:06:39.61 or western diseases, we call them. 00:06:39.62\00:06:41.60 Some are, you know, like heart diseases 00:06:41.61\00:06:43.31 and we will talk about that, 00:06:43.32\00:06:44.52 but it also makes the claim 00:06:44.53\00:06:46.11 that it is talking about reliving arthritis. 00:06:46.12\00:06:48.44 How is the Newstart program help arthritis? 00:06:48.45\00:06:51.31 Well the studies were done years ago in Scandinavia, 00:06:51.32\00:06:54.92 actually showing that just a diet change in itself 00:06:54.93\00:06:58.90 can significantly help 00:06:58.91\00:07:00.36 what we call Inflammatory Arthritis, 00:07:00.37\00:07:02.29 this would be like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis. 00:07:02.30\00:07:05.89 And some people rheumatoid arthritis 00:07:05.90\00:07:07.65 is so bad they have to be on prednisone or steroids, 00:07:07.66\00:07:10.58 on other disease altering medicines 00:07:10.59\00:07:12.97 that can have side effects on the liver. 00:07:12.98\00:07:15.21 Just by getting on a plan based died that's healthy 00:07:15.22\00:07:18.23 and high amounts of omega-3, 00:07:18.24\00:07:21.41 they can get off their steroids. 00:07:21.42\00:07:23.40 A vast majority of cases, 00:07:23.41\00:07:25.19 the arthritis can actually go into remission. 00:07:25.20\00:07:27.42 And we've seen that happen at Weimar in many cases. 00:07:27.43\00:07:30.51 In addition to that there are certain foods 00:07:30.52\00:07:34.47 that can actually set off non-inflammatory arthritis 00:07:34.48\00:07:37.99 that's the wear -and-tear 00:07:38.00\00:07:39.49 arthritis, the osteoarthritis. 00:07:39.50\00:07:41.29 And we've had osteoarthritis improve not only with diet, 00:07:41.30\00:07:44.11 but also hydrotherapy. 00:07:44.12\00:07:46.29 We utilize hydrotherapy in proper amounts. 00:07:46.30\00:07:51.27 They off in the contrast, baths will help 00:07:51.28\00:07:53.56 or you have the heat alternating with the cool. 00:07:53.57\00:07:57.30 And as you go through the hydrotherapy experience 00:07:57.31\00:07:59.91 and combine that with exercise. 00:07:59.92\00:08:02.48 Actually arthritis does better with proper exercise. 00:08:02.49\00:08:05.80 It's more of instead of pounding, 00:08:05.81\00:08:08.08 we would recommend a running program 00:08:08.09\00:08:09.86 for instance osteoarthritis of the knees. Right. 00:08:09.87\00:08:12.79 But it's more the bicycling type of activity 00:08:12.80\00:08:15.93 that can significantly actually help the muscles 00:08:15.94\00:08:19.52 and actually improve the joint space, 00:08:19.53\00:08:21.90 and so arthritis in and of itself. 00:08:21.91\00:08:23.93 A lot times people are referred 00:08:23.94\00:08:25.14 for hip replacements. 00:08:25.15\00:08:26.19 They will come to Weimar and they will find out 00:08:26.20\00:08:28.07 they don't need hip replacement 00:08:28.08\00:08:29.30 at least yet or knee replacement. 00:08:29.31\00:08:32.60 They actually needs some change in their lifestyle. 00:08:32.61\00:08:35.55 You know, they have wonder facilities. 00:08:35.56\00:08:37.20 They have been able to tour those in number of cases 00:08:37.21\00:08:39.37 that hydrotherapy section for the ladies 00:08:39.38\00:08:42.54 and then for the man 00:08:42.55\00:08:43.63 and then have these massage therapies, 00:08:43.64\00:08:45.35 which are excellent I mean, 00:08:45.36\00:08:47.06 you know, after you have done massage there you go, 00:08:47.07\00:08:49.78 I think I might stay here forever. 00:08:49.79\00:08:53.17 That's a beautiful situation. 00:08:53.18\00:08:55.92 Diabetes, you know, it says on the brochure 00:08:55.93\00:08:58.52 that it can be stopped and can be reversed even. 00:08:58.53\00:09:02.27 Yes the evidence for that is clear, 00:09:02.28\00:09:04.20 but Weimar was one of the first institutions 00:09:04.21\00:09:06.62 to actually demonstrate that diabetes can be reversed. 00:09:06.63\00:09:10.16 In fact they've held a reversing diabetes program 00:09:10.17\00:09:13.79 since the 1980s 00:09:13.80\00:09:16.35 and now the evidence for that in the medical literature 00:09:16.36\00:09:19.09 so conclusive it's really irrefutable 00:09:19.10\00:09:23.32 that just by hanging the diet and now this is different 00:09:23.33\00:09:25.66 in the American Diabetes Association Diet. 00:09:25.67\00:09:29.05 The American Diabetes Association Diet, 00:09:29.06\00:09:30.63 now you gonna be having the count carbs, 00:09:30.64\00:09:32.26 you gonna have to be limiting a cholesterol, 00:09:32.27\00:09:34.75 you gonna have to be, you know, get very educated 00:09:34.76\00:09:37.67 almost become a semi-nutritionist 00:09:37.68\00:09:40.37 to be able to not only get on the program 00:09:40.38\00:09:43.46 but to stay with it. 00:09:43.47\00:09:45.31 And that program is not as successful 00:09:45.32\00:09:47.68 as the Weimar Diet. 00:09:47.69\00:09:49.45 Studies on the Weimar Diet show it to be significantly 00:09:49.46\00:09:53.15 more successful in controlling diabetes. 00:09:53.16\00:09:55.77 And in addition it's easier to stand. 00:09:55.78\00:09:59.13 People actually comply better with the Weimar diet 00:09:59.14\00:10:02.93 due to improved taste 00:10:02.94\00:10:04.68 and it's easy of use in home environment than they do 00:10:04.69\00:10:07.83 on the American Diabetes Association Diet. 00:10:07.84\00:10:10.79 And these things are researched-based. 00:10:10.80\00:10:12.55 I mean they started to look at this, 00:10:12.56\00:10:14.01 they looked closer and first they said 00:10:14.02\00:10:15.54 oh that's these lifestyle centers 00:10:15.55\00:10:17.90 may be they do not know what they are doing 00:10:17.91\00:10:19.02 but now they are taking real notice. 00:10:19.03\00:10:20.74 Yes, and the cholesterol level has come down. 00:10:20.75\00:10:22.94 Not only has the diabetes get control 00:10:22.95\00:10:24.86 but the cholesterol and triglycerides 00:10:24.87\00:10:26.61 that are major problems for most diabetics come down 00:10:26.62\00:10:29.36 and the blood pressure comes down. 00:10:29.37\00:10:31.37 Weimar has done study 00:10:31.38\00:10:32.57 showing that the blood pressure 00:10:32.58\00:10:33.83 will come down significantly during the 18-day program, 00:10:33.84\00:10:37.47 18 sometimes more points and with that drop 00:10:37.48\00:10:41.77 often medicines are being withdrawn. 00:10:41.78\00:10:43.35 They don't even need 00:10:43.36\00:10:44.45 the high blood pressure medicines in that one. 00:10:44.46\00:10:46.11 You know, someone might say, well I can do that at home. 00:10:46.12\00:10:48.55 That maybe true, but in this residential treatment center, 00:10:48.56\00:10:51.90 what's the benefit for coming there versus 00:10:51.91\00:10:53.95 trying to do some of these things at home? 00:10:53.96\00:10:56.06 Well the advantage is that you get all of the expertise, 00:10:56.07\00:11:00.10 being able to be practiced one time 00:11:00.11\00:11:02.44 and so that makes it easier for you to stay on it 00:11:02.45\00:11:06.42 and to be motivated. 00:11:06.43\00:11:09.82 By the end of the 18 days you gonna feel so much better 00:11:09.83\00:11:12.78 seriously that you gonna be well motivated 00:11:12.79\00:11:15.37 to stay on this program, 00:11:15.38\00:11:17.31 where if you just try to do at home 00:11:17.32\00:11:18.89 it's a little difficult to be able to implement 00:11:18.90\00:11:21.28 all of this at home. 00:11:21.29\00:11:22.51 It can be done in certain settings 00:11:22.52\00:11:24.13 but you will need to have a physician 00:11:24.14\00:11:26.41 that really knows how to do this 00:11:26.42\00:11:28.31 as giving you the proper instruction 00:11:28.32\00:11:29.80 knows how to follow-up the blood sugars 00:11:29.81\00:11:31.61 and the cholesterol levels 00:11:31.62\00:11:34.08 and knows how to reduce medicines. 00:11:34.09\00:11:37.20 And you may find a physician in your area that can do that 00:11:37.21\00:11:40.23 and can help you out in their program. 00:11:40.24\00:11:43.13 But overall the expense is worth it. 00:11:43.14\00:11:48.78 I mean the price is right. 00:11:48.79\00:11:51.25 It's not something that can't be afforded 00:11:51.26\00:11:53.55 by the average American. 00:11:53.56\00:11:54.83 In fact the cost about is much as what an average 00:11:54.84\00:11:57.03 American will pay 00:11:57.04\00:11:58.09 for the same amount time in vacation. 00:11:58.10\00:12:01.64 And so if you are going to take vacation 00:12:01.65\00:12:03.38 why not come to Weimar and improve your health 00:12:03.39\00:12:05.69 and get a nice vacation at the same time. 00:12:05.70\00:12:08.08 Yeah, the other good news about it as you said 00:12:08.09\00:12:10.22 I think that it's a 10 or 18-day program. 00:12:10.23\00:12:13.28 So it's always only 18 days away. 00:12:13.29\00:12:15.74 So if you are just newly diagnosis with diabetic 00:12:15.75\00:12:18.16 or if you have some of these problems that are developing, 00:12:18.17\00:12:21.68 it's always 18 days or less away.
