Welcome to "Health for a Lifetime" 00:00:45.42\00:00:47.28 I'm your host Don Mackintosh 00:00:47.31\00:00:48.74 and today, we've kind of rolled up our sleeves 00:00:48.77\00:00:51.49 We're going to look at some very practical things 00:00:51.50\00:00:53.79 and the title of today's program, Dr. McNeilus, is 00:00:53.80\00:00:56.67 "The Pharmacy in Your Kitchen" 00:00:56.70\00:00:58.96 Now you've written a book called, "God's Healing Way" 00:00:58.99\00:01:02.83 And I understand that it's in quite a few countries now, 00:01:02.86\00:01:05.70 12... is that right? 00:01:05.71\00:01:07.32 So, Spanish, now in Cambodia as well in the Khmer language, 00:01:07.35\00:01:12.40 and in Romanian, and what other languages? 00:01:12.43\00:01:16.36 Spanish, and several African dialects, Vietnamese, Laotian. 00:01:16.39\00:01:22.73 Wow, so it really does not matter where you live today, 00:01:22.76\00:01:26.84 and, as we know, this is an international program... 00:01:26.87\00:01:29.30 There's lots of people watching 00:01:29.33\00:01:30.46 in many different parts of the world. 00:01:30.47\00:01:32.72 If you have the different things that you see on the set today, 00:01:32.73\00:01:36.02 you probably can do what Dr. McNeilus has to say... 00:01:36.05\00:01:39.40 But probably more than that, there's a spiritual component. 00:01:39.43\00:01:42.12 I notice you've called it, not "Man's Healing Way" 00:01:42.15\00:01:44.60 but "GOD'S HEALING WAY" 00:01:44.61\00:01:45.93 What did you call the book this? 00:01:45.94\00:01:47.25 God has a way of healing that is akin to His way of salvation, 00:01:47.28\00:01:53.83 and we learn in Titus 2:11... That God' grace that brings 00:01:53.86\00:01:59.90 salvation has appeared to all men. 00:01:59.93\00:02:03.23 There are no boundary barriers to God's salvation. 00:02:03.26\00:02:07.00 But we learn also in III John 2, we learn that 00:02:07.03\00:02:13.71 God, "above all things, wishes that we prosper and be in health 00:02:13.74\00:02:19.50 even as our soul prospers. " 00:02:19.53\00:02:22.65 In order for God to be fair and just, 00:02:22.68\00:02:26.32 His saving way, and His healing way must be available 00:02:26.35\00:02:32.05 to all people; not just to people who have wonderful 00:02:32.08\00:02:36.74 opportunities, and medical care which we enjoy 00:02:36.77\00:02:41.50 in some parts of the world, and not in others. 00:02:41.53\00:02:44.35 It must be inexpensive. 00:02:44.38\00:02:46.23 It must be available without a lot of monetary outlay. 00:02:46.26\00:02:52.01 It must be, however, invaluable... extremely helpful. 00:02:52.04\00:02:58.60 It must be easy to understand so that no matter what 00:02:58.63\00:03:02.99 educational level, or from educational school 00:03:03.02\00:03:05.84 one comes from in the world, it is easy to understand... 00:03:05.88\00:03:10.05 And yet, like many of Christ's simple teachings, PROFOUND. 00:03:10.08\00:03:14.22 It must be simple to practice. 00:03:14.25\00:03:17.44 Available in your house, or in your kitchen. 00:03:17.47\00:03:21.07 It must, at the same time, be highly effective 00:03:21.10\00:03:25.96 for sin and sickness. 00:03:25.99\00:03:29.11 Interesting... You know I studied the 00:03:29.14\00:03:31.10 Greek words in the New Testament once, 00:03:31.13\00:03:32.77 being a pastor, and a nurse before that... 00:03:32.80\00:03:36.03 The word for salvation, as I understand is, "sozo" 00:03:36.04\00:03:39.11 which also means "heal" It's the same word. 00:03:39.14\00:03:41.40 So, I really like that fact that the salvation has 00:03:41.43\00:03:45.49 appeared to everyone same here. 00:03:45.52\00:03:48.20 Now in this book you have some... 00:03:48.23\00:03:49.69 It's kind of divided in sections 00:03:49.72\00:03:51.40 I really like how it's divided, 00:03:51.41\00:03:52.93 and it kind of deals with different aspects of the 00:03:52.96\00:03:56.09 health laws then simple home remedies... 00:03:56.12\00:03:58.07 and we want to talk today a little bit about 00:03:58.10\00:03:59.84 some of those simple home remedies. 00:03:59.87\00:04:01.63 And which ones have we fixed up in the kitchen today for us? 00:04:01.66\00:04:04.98 We have the contrast baths. 00:04:05.01\00:04:08.74 Now you want me to do something special here... 00:04:08.77\00:04:10.44 Do I need to get prepared for this. YES 00:04:10.47\00:04:12.26 Should I take off my shoes? 00:04:12.29\00:04:13.74 Let's have you take off at least 1 shoe and 1 sock 00:04:13.77\00:04:17.55 We'll say that you have an infection on one of your 00:04:17.58\00:04:23.11 feet there... You maybe have done like 00:04:23.14\00:04:25.25 some of our Amish friends... stepped on a nail out there 00:04:25.28\00:04:28.44 in the barnyard... Right there it looks like there's a 00:04:28.47\00:04:29.68 little problem there. 00:04:29.71\00:04:30.81 ...And you're getting a little bit infected and red there. 00:04:30.84\00:04:34.26 And, you know if you had to go into the hospital, 00:04:34.29\00:04:37.50 or emergency room, they would 00:04:37.53\00:04:38.88 put you on antibiotics very quickly. 00:04:38.91\00:04:41.14 And they charge me a lot of money too. 00:04:41.17\00:04:42.56 Oh, that's the problem with the Amish people. 00:04:42.59\00:04:45.52 They don't have insurance, 00:04:45.53\00:04:48.18 and so money is a problem for those in our area. 00:04:48.21\00:04:51.83 So, do I need a tetanus shot? 00:04:51.84\00:04:53.01 Well, they do not do that. Okay... 00:04:53.04\00:04:58.03 So that means that, of course, I must get busy and treat it 00:04:58.06\00:05:02.82 in a way that will be helpful. 00:05:02.85\00:05:05.97 Well, you know, the contrast bath simply means 00:05:05.98\00:05:09.51 that the water is in a contrast temperature. 00:05:09.54\00:05:14.13 At one extreme, it will be hot, in the other it will be cold. 00:05:14.16\00:05:18.94 So what do we start with? 00:05:18.97\00:05:20.48 We ALWAYS start with the hot water. 00:05:20.51\00:05:23.55 And, so that's a good rule of thumb to remember. 00:05:23.58\00:05:26.63 We start with the hot, and the hot is the longest 00:05:26.66\00:05:29.50 amount of time... It's around 3 minutes of hot 00:05:29.53\00:05:33.25 and then about 1/2 to 1 minute of cold. 00:05:33.29\00:05:37.41 Okay, so how hot is hot? 00:05:37.44\00:05:38.75 Should I... do you want to put my foot in there? 00:05:38.78\00:05:40.87 You know, this is another reason I have rolled up 00:05:40.90\00:05:43.25 MY sleeves... Okay. 00:05:43.28\00:05:44.54 Because what I tell people... 00:05:44.57\00:05:46.78 If you don't have a bath thermometer, 00:05:46.79\00:05:48.98 we'll pretend this is the one for the hot water, 00:05:49.01\00:05:51.32 and this will be the first one. 00:05:51.35\00:05:53.01 But, I want to know how hot it is. 00:05:53.04\00:05:54.65 If I use my hand, it may not be the same sensitivity 00:05:54.68\00:05:58.66 as your foot, and so I do what a lot of mothers 00:05:58.69\00:06:02.75 will do with babies... test the water with your elbow. 00:06:02.78\00:06:07.01 Oh, that's a little more sensitive, isn't it? 00:06:07.04\00:06:08.65 And if you can leave your elbow in the water, 00:06:08.68\00:06:12.10 and bit pull back, it's probably going to handle your foot. 00:06:12.13\00:06:16.08 Well so, there are some real techniques 00:06:16.11\00:06:18.82 involved here in really what you do. 00:06:18.86\00:06:20.54 Now let's say you're a diabetic, or you can't sense things 00:06:20.57\00:06:22.83 in your foot, or your extremity very well, 00:06:22.86\00:06:25.12 and it's really important then to put that elbow in. 00:06:25.15\00:06:27.12 That is correct, and this is one good reason to always 00:06:27.15\00:06:30.61 start at a bit of a more comfortable temperature, 00:06:30.64\00:06:34.45 and recognizing that if you have circulatory problems, 00:06:34.48\00:06:37.69 you will not want to go as hot as you can stand. 00:06:37.72\00:06:42.07 You may want to simply go at an elbow temperature. 00:06:42.10\00:06:45.47 So it's not best for a physician to treat themselves. 00:06:45.50\00:06:47.77 You need to have someone else maybe to help you out 00:06:47.80\00:06:49.43 especially if you have that situation. 00:06:49.46\00:06:51.09 Should I put my foot in there now? 00:06:51.12\00:06:52.47 Let's just check it here. 00:06:52.50\00:06:54.50 Well, seems like I could have just a little more warm water 00:06:54.53\00:07:00.83 ...So have a teakettle with boiling water available 00:07:00.86\00:07:05.56 that you can just pour in... a little bit more, 00:07:05.59\00:07:09.72 and then re-test. There, it's just about right! 00:07:09.75\00:07:14.30 All right, I'm going to go ahead and put it in there. 00:07:14.33\00:07:16.30 And with a small child, you may just want to 00:07:16.33\00:07:19.64 assist them to put their foot in, and ask them... 00:07:19.65\00:07:22.16 WoooWHOOO! How does that feel? 00:07:22.20\00:07:23.48 Yes... Is that pretty warm? 00:07:23.51\00:07:24.76 This feels different than it's ever felt before... ha, ha, ha 00:07:24.79\00:07:29.21 So how long then, do we keep it in here, 00:07:29.24\00:07:30.51 in the hot, did you say? 00:07:30.54\00:07:31.55 About 3 minutes. 00:07:31.58\00:07:33.08 Okay, about 3 minutes, and you just kind of 00:07:33.11\00:07:36.63 click it off there, and then what? 00:07:36.66\00:07:39.60 After 3 minutes, you will want to transfer your foot 00:07:39.63\00:07:44.36 to cool water. Cool water! 00:07:44.39\00:07:46.48 Now if you are a diabetic, again, or someone with 00:07:46.51\00:07:50.06 circulatory problems, or numbness, 00:07:50.09\00:07:52.54 you may want to just go with cool water, 00:07:52.57\00:07:56.39 not ICE COLD water. 00:07:56.42\00:07:58.93 But if you are young and vigorous, and have just simply 00:07:58.96\00:08:03.74 an infection... Like us! 00:08:03.77\00:08:05.35 We hope, yes! 00:08:05.38\00:08:08.50 Then you can have ice in your water. 00:08:08.53\00:08:12.93 And that will be plenty cold... This will really make you! 00:08:12.96\00:08:15.52 Yes! Right! 00:08:15.55\00:08:18.20 And with small children, you may want to 00:08:18.23\00:08:20.91 play a game, and pretend the ice cubes are fish, 00:08:20.94\00:08:23.63 or something like that. 00:08:23.64\00:08:25.56 And you may only go to the 1/2 minute 00:08:25.57\00:08:28.34 instead of 1 whole minute. With the kids I'm sure... 00:08:28.37\00:08:31.27 And SO, it is adapted to the vigor of the person that 00:08:31.30\00:08:35.70 you are treating, and the degree of severity 00:08:35.73\00:08:40.59 of the problem you are treating. 00:08:40.62\00:08:42.05 The more hot, or the more cold intent 00:08:42.08\00:08:45.10 will give you the healing effect. 00:08:45.13\00:08:46.14 Now, we're treating a nail; I've stepped on a nail, 00:08:46.17\00:08:48.68 is that right? Do I remember what I did? That's correct! 00:08:48.69\00:08:50.65 And so, what exactly is this doing with that nail? 00:08:50.68\00:08:53.43 How is it helping... how is this helping? 00:08:53.44\00:08:55.43 The hot brings the blood to the surface of the skin, 00:08:55.46\00:09:00.98 and the cold closes the blood flow to the surface 00:09:01.01\00:09:06.20 of the skin, and drives it inward. 00:09:06.23\00:09:08.58 So basically, we are increasing the circulation by 00:09:08.61\00:09:11.65 increasing the movement, or the flow of blood in that area. 00:09:11.68\00:09:15.28 So it's like your car gets stuck in the ditch, 00:09:15.29\00:09:17.03 and you go back and forth, and back and forth 00:09:17.06\00:09:18.65 and you finally get it out... Correct 00:09:18.68\00:09:20.63 And the reason that that is 00:09:20.66\00:09:22.37 done is for a very good physiologic reason. 00:09:22.40\00:09:25.62 When you move the blood, you are getting in your red cells 00:09:25.63\00:09:29.46 that bring oxygen, and carry away waste material 00:09:29.49\00:09:33.87 such as carbon dioxide, products of cell metabolism, 00:09:33.90\00:09:37.53 you move the plasma, the river in which the red cells travel 00:09:37.56\00:09:42.08 which brings in metabolic nutrients to the cells, 00:09:42.11\00:09:45.83 and again takes some of the waste products out. 00:09:45.86\00:09:48.68 It also brings in your white blood cells 00:09:48.71\00:09:51.28 who are the soldiers of our body. 00:09:51.29\00:09:53.55 Whenever there's an infection, they are there ready to fight 00:09:53.58\00:09:56.74 whatever germ or ailment is there... 00:09:56.77\00:10:00.73 And so we bring in the troops, we take out wastes, 00:10:00.76\00:10:04.42 we bring in nutrients, and oxygen. 00:10:04.45\00:10:06.51 So how often do we do this? 00:10:06.52\00:10:07.72 Let's say it's just your typical person stepping on a nail, 00:10:07.75\00:10:12.42 and how often should we do this 00:10:12.45\00:10:15.07 let's say over a week's period? 00:10:15.10\00:10:18.64 Do you do it every day? How often do you do it? 00:10:18.65\00:10:20.50 That's a good question because often it depends on 00:10:20.53\00:10:26.39 the severity of the problem, 00:10:26.42\00:10:28.03 and if you can catch things right away, 00:10:28.06\00:10:30.37 you don't have to do things quite as often. 00:10:30.40\00:10:32.56 But if you've had a delay in getting treatment, 00:10:32.59\00:10:37.14 then you may have to be more serious about it. 00:10:37.17\00:10:40.40 And so, what I'd recommend is anywhere from 5 to 7 changes. 00:10:40.43\00:10:45.84 And one change is 3 minutes of hot and 1/2 to 1 minute of cold 00:10:45.87\00:10:51.67 ...that's one change... 5 to 7 changes a day? 00:10:51.70\00:10:54.88 Right, I call it the "Naaman treatment" 00:10:54.92\00:10:57.34 Naaman... Oh, like you're dipping 7 times 00:10:57.38\00:10:59.77 Like Naaman dipped into the Jordan River 7 times. 00:10:59.80\00:11:02.83 We learn in the Bible that was to be the sign of his faith 00:11:02.86\00:11:08.23 for the cure of his leprosy. 00:11:08.26\00:11:09.91 It's a good story too, especially when you're 00:11:09.94\00:11:11.44 like on time 4, and you don't want to go back down anymore. 00:11:11.47\00:11:13.85 Right? Yeah right... It keeps you going. 00:11:13.88\00:11:15.93 And then, do you do that just one day, 00:11:15.96\00:11:17.41 or do you do it several days in a row? 00:11:17.44\00:11:18.99 What I may do... this treatment may be done 00:11:19.02\00:11:21.22 anywhere from once a day, to 4 times a day; 00:11:21.25\00:11:24.85 again depending on the severity of the treatment... 00:11:24.88\00:11:27.82 And it can be done until the leg or the infection 00:11:27.85\00:11:34.14 or the ailment is completely disappeared. 00:11:34.17\00:11:37.42 So I tell people do it as long as you need to, 00:11:37.45\00:11:40.24 until your condition is back to normal. 00:11:40.27\00:11:44.58 Any cautions about this? 00:11:44.61\00:11:45.81 You've done this around the world; 00:11:45.84\00:11:47.20 I'm sure that in America, or in a Western-type country, 00:11:47.23\00:11:51.31 we get our water out of the tap. 00:11:51.34\00:11:52.90 How do you pick water, 00:11:52.93\00:11:54.43 say if you're in the middle of the jungle? 00:11:54.46\00:11:57.06 We have to pick what we have, 00:11:57.09\00:11:59.77 and we may not have ice. 00:11:59.80\00:12:01.52 And, I have been in villages where I have not been able 00:12:01.55\00:12:04.42 to get ice, but there is a well 00:12:04.45\00:12:06.91 Well water is not ICE cold, but well water 00:12:06.94\00:12:11.01 is considerably cooler than the tropical air outside... 00:12:11.04\00:12:15.77 So as much of a contrast that we can get 00:12:15.80\00:12:18.79 from the hot to the cold will still give you a good result. 00:12:18.82\00:12:22.81 So would you pick running water, versus water that's 00:12:22.84\00:12:25.49 been in a... It' won't matter. 00:12:25.52\00:12:27.44 We can pick it anywhere. 00:12:27.47\00:12:28.71 But there is one thing that I always recommend to people 00:12:28.74\00:12:34.01 that is very important. 00:12:34.04\00:12:36.79 We may not have all of the resources, 00:12:36.82\00:12:38.56 but we do have one resource, and that's our 00:12:38.57\00:12:40.77 Heavenly Resource that is constant with us. 00:12:40.80\00:12:43.21 And I do always remind people to begin with prayer. 00:12:43.24\00:12:48.80 And what do I ask for? What should we ask for 00:12:48.83\00:12:54.23 when we begin with prayer? 00:12:54.26\00:12:56.64 We ask for God to bless the treatment. 00:12:56.67\00:13:01.40 We ask for His blessing. 00:13:01.41\00:13:02.67 We ask for the great physician to be present with us. 00:13:02.70\00:13:06.53 He knows the ailment, He knows the cause... 00:13:06.56\00:13:09.54 often when even an earthly physician doesn't. 00:13:09.57\00:13:13.47 But He also knows the cure. 00:13:13.50\00:13:15.92 And so we ask Him to be present to be by our side. 00:13:15.95\00:13:19.22 At the end of a treatment, I also remind people 00:13:19.25\00:13:23.04 to pray, and this is the faith part. 00:13:23.07\00:13:26.31 Thank the Lord that He blessed you with this treatment. 00:13:26.34\00:13:31.18 Don't wait until you see the result... that is not faith. 00:13:31.21\00:13:34.82 Step out in faith.. the evidence of things not seen. 00:13:34.86\00:13:38.44 Thank Him for doing that. 00:13:38.47\00:13:40.03 And faith is the currency that opens the treasury of heaven. 00:13:40.06\00:13:45.23 We're talking to Dr. Mary Ann McNeilus 00:13:45.26\00:13:47.48 What a wonderful book, and what practical, simple 00:13:47.51\00:13:50.58 but POWERFUL, and PROFOUND things can help us 00:13:50.61\00:13:53.04 no matter where we live. 00:13:53.07\00:13:54.63 When we come back, we're going to be looking at more 00:13:54.66\00:13:56.69 simple remedies that you can do in your own kitchen 00:13:56.72\00:13:59.72 with your own pharmacy, and looking 00:13:59.75\00:14:01.53 at more of God's healing way. 00:14:01.56\00:14:02.89 We hope you join us when we come back. 00:14:02.92\00:14:06.36 Have you found yourself wishing that you could shed a few pounds 00:14:06.39\00:14:09.47 Have you been on a diet for most of your life, 00:14:09.50\00:14:11.93 but not found anything that will really keep the weight off? 00:14:11.96\00:14:14.95 If you've answered "yes" to any of these questions, 00:14:14.98\00:14:18.03 then we have a solution for you that works! 00:14:18.06\00:14:20.70 Dr. Hans Diehl and Dr. Aileen Ludington 00:14:20.73\00:14:23.81 have written a marvelous booklet called... 00:14:23.84\00:14:25.73 "Reversing Obesity Naturally" 00:14:25.76\00:14:27.95 and we'd like to send it to you FREE of charge. 00:14:27.98\00:14:30.33 Here's a medically sound approach successfully used 00:14:30.36\00:14:33.41 by thousands who are able to eat more, 00:14:33.44\00:14:35.88 and lose weight permanently without feeling guilty, 00:14:35.91\00:14:38.59 or hungry through lifestyle medicine. 00:14:38.62\00:14:40.89 Dr. Diehl and Dr. Ludington have been featured on 3ABN 00:14:40.90\00:14:44.60 and in this booklet, they present a sensible approach 00:14:44.63\00:14:47.63 to eating, nutrition, and lifestyle changes 00:14:47.66\00:14:50.07 that can help you prevent heart disease, diabetes, 00:14:50.10\00:14:52.62 and even cancer. 00:14:52.65\00:14:54.09 Call or write today for your free copy of 00:14:54.12\00:14:56.22 "Reversing Obesity Naturally" 00:14:56.25\00:14:57.80 and you could be on your way to a healthier, happier you! 00:14:57.83\00:15:01.18 It's absolutely FREE of charge, so call or write today. 00:15:01.21\00:15:07.73 Welcome back... we talking with Dr. Mary Ann McNeilus 00:15:07.76\00:15:10.33 and we're talking about God's healing way, 00:15:10.34\00:15:11.72 and the pharmacy in your kitchen. 00:15:11.75\00:15:13.41 We're going to look at some practical things with... 00:15:13.42\00:15:16.29 what do we call this, charred wood? Charcoal 00:15:16.32\00:15:18.93 Charcoal, and then we're going to hear some 00:15:18.96\00:15:20.09 stories about how God has really used simple means 00:15:20.12\00:15:22.84 to heal people. What about charcoal? 00:15:22.87\00:15:24.13 What do we need to learn about it? 00:15:24.16\00:15:25.81 Very simply... charcoal is charred wood, 00:15:25.84\00:15:29.89 or wood that has been burned in the absence of air 00:15:29.92\00:15:33.41 for a prolonged period of time, 00:15:33.44\00:15:35.68 and then ground into a powder. 00:15:35.71\00:15:38.51 And, charcoal is the treatment of choice by the 00:15:38.54\00:15:42.52 American Academy of Pediatrics for poisoning in children. 00:15:42.53\00:15:46.38 But it has many other additional uses that make it a necessary 00:15:46.41\00:15:51.06 and important part of your kitchen pharmacy. 00:15:51.09\00:15:54.28 So, what about this bug bite I have here on my wrist, 00:15:54.31\00:15:57.20 is it going to help with that? 00:15:57.23\00:15:58.37 I find that charcoal put on the skin as a poultice, 00:15:58.40\00:16:02.19 is a wonderful complement to the hot and cold contrast bath 00:16:02.20\00:16:06.76 that we just talked about for an infection... 00:16:06.77\00:16:10.40 And, I am going to make a charcoal poultice 00:16:10.43\00:16:13.80 first by making a little charcoal paste, 00:16:13.81\00:16:16.27 and that is by adding a little bit of water 00:16:16.30\00:16:18.73 to our charcoal powder until it's about the consistency 00:16:18.76\00:16:23.18 of a thick paste or like peanut butter, something like that. 00:16:23.21\00:16:28.17 You probably don't want to do this in your blender... 00:16:28.20\00:16:30.44 You might not want to because certainly charcoal, 00:16:30.47\00:16:34.35 as you can almost see from the picture here, 00:16:34.38\00:16:38.62 can poof... that is, it's such a fine powder that 00:16:38.65\00:16:42.21 any vigorous stirring will cause you to have charcoal 00:16:42.22\00:16:47.30 in many other places than where you desired it to be. 00:16:47.33\00:16:51.66 You can get this probably as liquid charcoal, as I recall, 00:16:51.67\00:16:55.62 but you can make your own too. 00:16:55.65\00:16:57.45 Yes, and this is the way... the charcoal will keep 00:16:57.48\00:17:00.18 indefinitely on your kitchen shelf. 00:17:00.19\00:17:03.69 Just keep it in a closed container, and it will keep 00:17:03.72\00:17:07.98 for a very prolonged period of time. 00:17:07.99\00:17:09.97 You don't want to leave it open because charcoal 00:17:10.00\00:17:12.37 has a wonderful property of absorbing poisons 00:17:12.40\00:17:19.03 such as toxins, gases, even bacteria and viruses. 00:17:19.06\00:17:25.09 So anything that's next to it, it will absorb 00:17:25.12\00:17:28.20 so you want to keep it closed up... It will absorb. 00:17:28.21\00:17:31.17 So you like to keep it closed, 00:17:31.20\00:17:32.87 but it's an inert substance, and so it will keep at a very 00:17:32.90\00:17:36.14 indefinite period of time. 00:17:36.17\00:17:37.92 It's a very nice thing to keep around... 00:17:37.95\00:17:41.78 Just find a source for getting it, 00:17:41.81\00:17:44.01 and keep a container or 2 around your home... 00:17:44.04\00:17:47.40 and also for sharing with others. 00:17:47.43\00:17:49.78 It has many wonderful uses as explained in 00:17:49.81\00:17:52.50 "God's Healing Way" in a chapter on charcoal. 00:17:52.53\00:17:55.32 It can be used for infections. 00:17:55.33\00:17:59.37 It can be used for bug bites... 00:17:59.40\00:18:02.52 Then you have a little piece of paper or whatever 00:18:02.55\00:18:04.33 you have there... 00:18:04.34\00:18:06.16 Well, one very easy way to make a poultice, 00:18:06.19\00:18:08.89 is either with a loosely woven cloth, or if you are where 00:18:08.92\00:18:12.37 there are paper towels, you can use a paper towel. 00:18:12.40\00:18:16.77 And, a simple poultice can be either made with a 00:18:16.80\00:18:21.47 paper towel, loosely woven cloth and a piece of plastic 00:18:21.50\00:18:26.07 which I have down here. 00:18:26.10\00:18:29.26 And I'm going to put that on the table first, 00:18:29.29\00:18:31.51 and then I'm going to decide 00:18:31.54\00:18:33.59 what size I want my charcoal poultice. 00:18:33.62\00:18:35.98 I want it to well-cover an area on either side 00:18:36.01\00:18:41.99 of an infected area... 00:18:42.02\00:18:43.62 because the body will have inflammation in areas 00:18:43.65\00:18:48.10 even where it is around the area that is not showing. 00:18:48.13\00:18:52.20 Inflammation or infection, usually means 00:18:52.23\00:18:54.48 there's redness, swelling, pain... 00:18:54.51\00:18:56.52 Good for a spider bite, good for a snake bite, 00:18:56.55\00:18:58.60 good for any kind of situation? 00:18:58.63\00:19:00.54 Yes, good for scorpion if you're in an area as we have been 00:19:00.55\00:19:05.21 in some parts of the world where scorpions are 00:19:05.24\00:19:07.56 in some parts of the United States where they are. 00:19:07.59\00:19:09.82 Any noxious substance, or critter can be helped 00:19:09.85\00:19:16.00 and there are directions on how to use it for these things. 00:19:16.03\00:19:19.07 But we're going to say that you have an 00:19:19.10\00:19:22.67 infected bug bite here, with some pain and swelling. 00:19:22.68\00:19:28.48 So once I put this poultice on, how long do I keep it on? 00:19:28.51\00:19:32.93 You can keep it on for several hours, 00:19:32.96\00:19:36.27 or overnight, and you may replace it. 00:19:36.30\00:19:42.31 It can be used often, and in conjunction, as I said, 00:19:42.34\00:19:45.27 with hot and cold water treatments such as 00:19:45.30\00:19:47.79 the contrast bath, and it can be left on until 00:19:47.82\00:19:53.18 you do your next treatment, or overnight. 00:19:53.21\00:19:56.12 Well I've spread this on here it's like the jelly of a 00:19:56.15\00:20:00.38 sandwich, and we'll say that these pieces 00:20:00.42\00:20:03.92 of paper are the... The bread The bread. Oh good! 00:20:03.96\00:20:07.43 And we spread it within about an inch or so 00:20:07.46\00:20:10.07 of the outer rim there, so we don't spill out. 00:20:10.10\00:20:14.93 And, let's see here, now you can see we have our little 00:20:14.96\00:20:18.78 sandwich here... And you're going to put that on my wrist 00:20:18.81\00:20:22.03 AND we're going to put it right over the center of this swollen 00:20:22.06\00:20:26.50 painful... Feels better already! 00:20:26.53\00:20:28.07 It DOES! Often it can be almost miraculous. 00:20:28.10\00:20:32.32 And THEN I put a piece of plastic on top, 00:20:32.35\00:20:35.09 and the purpose of this is to keep the charcoal from 00:20:35.12\00:20:38.45 getting out onto things which it can stain, 00:20:38.48\00:20:41.09 but also to keep it from drying out... 00:20:41.10\00:20:45.41 And then I may want to hold it in place with elastic wrap, 00:20:45.44\00:20:51.09 or just any type of a cloth or binding material. 00:20:51.12\00:20:54.61 And so then I can just simply wrap this around and 00:20:54.62\00:20:58.66 pin it in place, pin it securely so that the 00:20:58.69\00:21:01.26 poultice does not move, 00:21:01.29\00:21:02.49 and then you can leave it on for several hours or overnight. 00:21:02.50\00:21:05.78 Change it periodically as the condition warrants. 00:21:05.81\00:21:12.14 Now you showed me a picture a little picture earlier 00:21:12.15\00:21:14.32 of you doing this type of treatment. 00:21:14.36\00:21:15.50 Where was it that you did that? 00:21:15.53\00:21:16.59 In the country of Romania... Can we look at that picture? 00:21:16.63\00:21:20.69 I had an interesting experience... 00:21:20.72\00:21:23.33 One summer, we were going around to different churches 00:21:23.34\00:21:27.04 groups, and teaching natural remedies. 00:21:27.07\00:21:29.68 The gentleman in this picture, whose hand is seen here, 00:21:29.71\00:21:35.39 had about a month before, been working and 00:21:35.42\00:21:40.31 had gotten something he knew into hand. 00:21:40.34\00:21:45.03 He didn't know if it was a sliver, or just what the 00:21:45.04\00:21:47.75 nature of the fibrous material was... 00:21:47.78\00:21:49.68 but the doctor assured him there was no way to go in it 00:21:49.71\00:21:53.13 and retrieve it, and he suffered for about 4 weeks with 00:21:53.16\00:21:59.58 with some tenderness, and swelling, 00:21:59.61\00:22:02.08 and the physician felt eventually it would 00:22:02.11\00:22:04.01 fester and come out. 00:22:04.04\00:22:05.48 Well, my Romanian friends that were with me decided 00:22:05.51\00:22:09.97 to do a natural remedy treatment that evening 00:22:10.00\00:22:12.98 before we were going to have our natural remedy seminar 00:22:13.01\00:22:18.12 the following day, and that evening, 00:22:18.15\00:22:19.72 he did a hot and cold contrast bath just as we did 00:22:19.75\00:22:23.36 Earlier... hot for what was it, 3 minutes, cold for 1-1/2 00:22:23.39\00:22:27.65 ...1/2 to 1 minute Oh, well okay, it's in the book 00:22:27.68\00:22:30.97 For about 7 changes, and then he put on a charcoal poultice 00:22:31.00\00:22:35.34 and the gentleman went to bed. 00:22:35.37\00:22:38.28 The next morning, when he got up, 00:22:38.31\00:22:40.42 he noticed that there was a little bit of a protrusion 00:22:40.45\00:22:44.54 on the skin surface there. 00:22:44.57\00:22:46.22 And my Romanian helper just kind of pushed/pressed 00:22:46.25\00:22:52.43 ever so slightly, and out popped a large sliver 00:22:52.46\00:22:57.75 that was at least an inch long which you see in the picture 00:22:57.78\00:23:02.32 and the charcoal, and with the hot and cold contrast bath, 00:23:02.35\00:23:06.40 worked very well to finish what had been festering 00:23:06.41\00:23:11.83 in there for some time. 00:23:11.84\00:23:13.49 Well, needless to say, my Romanian friend was 00:23:13.52\00:23:16.72 more than happy to share with others that wonderful experience 00:23:16.75\00:23:21.52 However, I would also like to share one final story that 00:23:21.55\00:23:25.88 comes from the work with the Amish people in my area. 00:23:25.91\00:23:29.51 One Friday evening, just after we moved into our 00:23:29.54\00:23:33.73 new home health retreat, in Southeastern Minnesota, 00:23:33.76\00:23:38.62 I was paid a visit with a horse and buggy from 00:23:38.65\00:23:42.62 our close Amish neighbors. 00:23:42.65\00:23:44.43 It was the mother with about 4 of her 10 children... 00:23:44.46\00:23:47.91 came over, and I thought how nice... they were coming 00:23:47.94\00:23:50.67 just to welcome us... and so I showed them around 00:23:50.70\00:23:53.34 our new facility, and as I got to the treatment room, 00:23:53.37\00:23:56.49 the mother suddenly pulled up the sleeve of 00:23:56.52\00:24:00.09 her little 6-year-old daughter. 00:24:00.12\00:24:02.39 ...And to my HORROR, I realized the true cause of her visit. 00:24:02.40\00:24:08.61 The story was that this little girl had gotten an 00:24:08.64\00:24:11.86 insignificant nick in her finger or on her hand, 00:24:11.89\00:24:16.05 3 or 4 days before, but by now, she had pain and swelling 00:24:16.08\00:24:20.68 from her entire hand, really up to her elbow. 00:24:20.71\00:24:24.25 And she had what we commonly call "blood poisoning" 00:24:24.28\00:24:27.49 or a septicemia, or an infection where the bacteria 00:24:27.52\00:24:32.70 had gone not just from the local area, but was starting 00:24:32.73\00:24:35.16 to spread through her body. See some red lines up her arm. 00:24:35.19\00:24:37.68 Exactly, and very painful; she had not slept for several days. 00:24:37.71\00:24:41.83 But all this time, she had not made any noise, 00:24:41.86\00:24:44.83 or any crying, or anything, but it did hurt. 00:24:44.86\00:24:48.72 Well I saw immediately that we needed to 00:24:48.75\00:24:51.48 work on the kitchen table, and so my kitchen table was 00:24:51.51\00:24:54.66 initiated with 2 basins, 1 with hot and 1 with cold water. 00:24:54.69\00:24:58.89 Contrast bath. We did the contrast bath. 00:24:58.92\00:25:01.36 Now if any of you know when something is swollen and painful 00:25:01.39\00:25:05.05 it does not always feel the best to put it in hot water. 00:25:05.08\00:25:08.47 But the mother admonished her little girl... 00:25:08.50\00:25:10.72 "Don't whimper. You do the treatment. " 00:25:10.75\00:25:13.16 3 minutes of hot, 1/2 minute of cold... 7 changes 00:25:13.17\00:25:18.64 And then of course, I would not let them go home until 00:25:18.67\00:25:21.82 I had applied a charcoal poultice to the entire hand 00:25:21.85\00:25:26.30 up past the elbow, and encased her whole little arm 00:25:26.33\00:25:30.52 and hand in a charcoal poultice. 00:25:30.55\00:25:32.18 How old was she? She was about 6. 00:25:32.21\00:25:34.92 And so, then they went home with directions to continue 00:25:34.95\00:25:38.91 that treatment and plenty of charcoal to make a poultice 00:25:38.94\00:25:42.07 and to continue with that. 00:25:42.08\00:25:43.94 The next morning, I was able to stop by the home 00:25:43.97\00:25:47.43 and discovered she has slept for the first time 00:25:47.46\00:25:50.24 quite peacefully that night. 00:25:50.27\00:25:52.31 And it was only a matter of 3 or 4 days, and her infection 00:25:52.34\00:25:56.34 was pretty well completely gone without the need 00:25:56.37\00:26:00.45 to go in and get antibiotics, or a physician visit 00:26:00.48\00:26:04.39 which certain would have had to happen if her mother had not 00:26:04.42\00:26:07.89 been made aware of some very effective simple home remedies 00:26:07.92\00:26:11.37 all with the power of prayer, of course. 00:26:11.40\00:26:14.97 So these simple remedies that we've looked at really, 00:26:14.98\00:26:18.24 the contrast bath today, and then also charcoal... 00:26:18.27\00:26:21.87 anybody can do those, and really just to summarize it, 00:26:21.90\00:26:27.32 see if I'm correct, that contrast bath takes the water in 00:26:27.35\00:26:31.67 or takes the object in and out, kind of dislodges it 00:26:31.70\00:26:34.83 and the charcoal kind of finishes the job with all 00:26:34.86\00:26:37.98 the different toxins and poisons that are around... 00:26:38.01\00:26:39.94 Isn't that right? Basically what it does is 00:26:39.97\00:26:42.40 the contrast baths moves the body circulation, 00:26:42.41\00:26:45.57 which brings in its own natural methods of healing... 00:26:45.60\00:26:49.24 The white blood cells, the nutrients that the body needs 00:26:49.27\00:26:52.77 to fight the infection, and the substances are drawn out 00:26:52.80\00:26:56.78 through the absorptive power of the charcoal. 00:26:56.81\00:27:00.06 We're talking about "God's Healing Way" 00:27:00.09\00:27:02.76 with Dr. Mary Ann McNeilus 00:27:02.79\00:27:04.16 and really, probably the most powerful thing we've 00:27:04.19\00:27:08.03 talked about today is not the charcoal, 00:27:08.06\00:27:09.66 it's not the contrast bath... 00:27:09.69\00:27:11.49 it's probably prayer... Would you agree with that? 00:27:11.52\00:27:13.48 I agree. 00:27:13.51\00:27:14.79 And so, starting each treatment no matter WHAT treatment it is, 00:27:14.82\00:27:19.72 with prayer and then stepping out in faith, 00:27:19.75\00:27:22.28 I believe that you said, at the end of that treatment. 00:27:22.29\00:27:25.07 If you've been interested in today's program, 00:27:25.10\00:27:27.53 and would like more information about this book, 00:27:27.56\00:27:30.03 "God's Healing Way" 00:27:30.06\00:27:31.81 please contact 3ABN, and we can get you information 00:27:31.84\00:27:35.25 how to get in touch with Dr. Mary Ann McNeilus 00:27:35.28\00:27:37.65 I believe that Dr. McNeilus does seminars, 00:27:37.66\00:27:40.00 and different things; also teaching different groups 00:27:40.03\00:27:42.20 and has a real ministry with many different people. 00:27:42.23\00:27:44.87 We hope today's program has helped you, 00:27:44.90\00:27:46.76 and then as a result of it, you can use the pharmacy 00:27:46.79\00:27:49.46 in your kitchen to avoid problems or prevent problems 00:27:49.49\00:27:52.84 or reverse them if you have them, and that you can 00:27:52.87\00:27:55.31 as a result, have health that lasts for a lifetime. 00:27:55.35\00:27:57.76
