¤ ¤ 00:00:01.50\00:00:24.29 Thanks for watching Heavens Declare. I'm Jim Burr and we're 00:00:24.35\00:00:29.79 doing a program today for the kids. I've learned that adults 00:00:29.82\00:00:34.66 like it too because we've got so many beautiful pictures coming 00:00:34.70\00:00:39.53 up. You know, if you ever have a chance to look through a 00:00:39.57\00:00:45.04 telescope, the moon is just incredible. I could spend weeks 00:00:45.07\00:00:49.18 looking at the moon. You can go to the library and get a book 00:00:49.21\00:00:54.48 and learn all the craters. In fact, I like to work with two 00:00:54.52\00:00:59.05 telescopes. I like, when I have friends over, to give them one 00:00:59.09\00:01:02.12 telescope and I'll get another one and we'll look at the moon 00:01:02.16\00:01:05.56 and I'll walk them around the moon. Look at these mountain 00:01:05.59\00:01:09.86 ranges here, the Alpines mountain ranges. They're 18,000 00:01:09.90\00:01:15.67 feet tall on the moon. The Alpines, for instance, make an 00:01:15.70\00:01:19.87 arch. If you follow that down, all of a sudden you'll see a 00:01:19.91\00:01:23.51 crater that's a darker crater and that's Plato and that's 00:01:23.55\00:01:26.68 about 60 miles across. If you continue on down you have a 00:01:26.72\00:01:29.78 walled plane where a plane comes in, the lava apparently has come 00:01:29.82\00:01:33.72 in and we have sort of a big arch. Then if you follow it 00:01:33.76\00:01:36.93 around here, you have Copernicus If you go on up above that we 00:01:36.96\00:01:42.26 have the Sea of Nectaris. You have Theophilus Crilius and this 00:01:42.33\00:01:46.20 is a newer crater because you see it's pushed over into the 00:01:46.23\00:01:50.04 other ones. We have craters like Messier I and II and they're on 00:01:50.07\00:01:54.88 the very edge of the moon. These are really fun to watch. They're 00:01:54.91\00:01:59.75 small, but apparently, an impact came in at a steep angle and 00:01:59.78\00:02:04.12 shot matter out for hundreds of miles; you see the streamers. 00:02:04.15\00:02:10.26 So, just even looking at the moon is breathtaking. Of course, 00:02:10.29\00:02:15.13 people who've seen Saturn for the first time, it's fun to see 00:02:15.16\00:02:20.20 that for the first time and hear their oos and their ahs. They're 00:02:20.24\00:02:25.11 actually seeing the rings around Saturn. Also, the moons around 00:02:25.14\00:02:29.98 Jupiter. Even with a pair of good binoculars you can see 00:02:30.01\00:02:35.05 moons around Jupiter and the rings of Saturn. They'll be 00:02:35.08\00:02:40.02 pretty small with binoculars. The problem is these cheap 00:02:40.06\00:02:45.79 telescopes that are sold in stores are a disaster. If you're 00:02:45.83\00:02:51.53 interested in getting a telescope, I would definitely 00:02:51.57\00:02:53.90 recommend taking a look at what we call a Dobsonian telescope. 00:02:53.94\00:02:56.91 Dobsonian scopes are quite reasonable and they're very 00:02:56.94\00:03:02.38 solid. They don't shake all over the universe. The stuff that's 00:03:02.41\00:03:05.85 sold in some of these department stores is so wiggly and so shaky 00:03:05.91\00:03:10.32 that you get so discouraged. In fact, I had a friend that called 00:03:10.35\00:03:14.72 when I was headed to California and he said I've got a 00:03:14.76\00:03:17.06 telescope and I've never seen a thing through it, and it was 00:03:17.13\00:03:21.66 like hundreds and hundreds of dollars he spent for it and the 00:03:21.70\00:03:26.50 problem was it wasn't focusing. Some of these you get a long 00:03:26.53\00:03:30.71 range of focus and unless you're close... What you've got to do 00:03:30.74\00:03:35.74 is you have to look at a TV tower or a hill or something way 00:03:35.78\00:03:40.72 out in the road. Get it in focus. Then when you look at the 00:03:40.75\00:03:44.39 stars you'll be able to find them. But if you have that focus 00:03:44.42\00:03:47.69 off an inch or so you won't see a thing you won't see a thing 00:03:47.72\00:03:50.89 through it because it will be so blurry you won't even see 00:03:50.93\00:03:54.06 there's anything there. Just be really careful buying department 00:03:54.10\00:03:58.43 store telescopes because most of them are so flimsy. But the word 00:03:58.47\00:04:02.27 to look for is Dobsonian and the smallest Dobsonians are like 00:04:02.30\00:04:05.74 three or four inches in diameter and then they go on up to 16 00:04:05.77\00:04:09.38 inch and so forth. I mean, you can get some of these for under 00:04:09.44\00:04:13.01 a couple hundred dollars and they're really a wonderful 00:04:13.05\00:04:17.02 instrument, they really are. For the money, a Dobsonian would be 00:04:17.05\00:04:20.26 the best scope. They're very rigid, very stable. They don't 00:04:20.29\00:04:23.26 shake all over the place. Most of you should actually be able 00:04:23.29\00:04:26.23 to see moons around Jupiter, you'll see our moon and you'll 00:04:26.26\00:04:30.30 see the rings around Saturn and other things. Depending on if 00:04:30.33\00:04:33.23 you're in the middle of a city you're not going to see much, 00:04:33.27\00:04:36.94 but even in the city you will see like Jupiter and Saturn and 00:04:36.97\00:04:40.48 the moon. But as far as seeing a lot of beautiful stars, you 00:04:40.51\00:04:44.58 need to get out in the country away from the city lights. 00:04:44.61\00:04:48.98 So, today we've got a lot of stuff to show everyone but 00:04:49.02\00:04:53.36 the young kids particularly. I live in the mountains of 00:04:53.42\00:04:58.03 Colorado and we're up at high altitude, 7,000 feet, and we 00:04:58.09\00:05:02.63 have a lot of life that comes to our feeders. We have birds that 00:05:02.66\00:05:09.60 come. Just recently we saw a couple of bobcats coming out, 00:05:09.64\00:05:14.54 down the mountain looking for I suppose rabbits would be their 00:05:14.58\00:05:19.35 favorite food. Hummingbirds in the summertime. It's fantastic 00:05:19.38\00:05:24.19 living in the mountains. The hummingbirds, you can actually 00:05:24.25\00:05:29.06 get them to sit on your finger while they drink from the feeder 00:05:29.09\00:05:33.86 You know, it's wonderful living in the country. We were in 00:05:33.90\00:05:38.23 Russia and we were in these apartments that went up 20, 30 00:05:38.27\00:05:42.57 stories and people living in little cubicles. When we were 00:05:42.60\00:05:47.11 there and we showed pictures of the animals in Russia, people 00:05:47.18\00:05:52.35 said oh this would be heaven to be able to have animals like 00:05:52.38\00:05:56.52 I'm going to show a couple of animals coming up here. Well you 00:05:56.55\00:06:00.66 know the Bible says that heaven is a country. I have some 00:06:00.69\00:06:06.90 pictures of people in Hong Kong and you can't believe. Must be 00:06:06.93\00:06:11.37 100 stories in little cubicles, people living in little cubicles 00:06:11.40\00:06:15.80 They never get to see the beauties of God's creation. 00:06:15.84\00:06:18.17 Never get to see the mountains and the trees and the flowers 00:06:18.21\00:06:22.08 and all the animals that he has created. That's not really the 00:06:22.14\00:06:26.21 way God designed this earth, you see. It says heaven will be a 00:06:26.25\00:06:31.55 country. I'm going to share some things with you about tree 00:06:31.59\00:06:36.86 houses because tree houses would be absolutely fantastic, living 00:06:36.89\00:06:41.30 in the mountains where you would have birds coming to your feeder 00:06:41.33\00:06:45.30 I've been in some of those tree houses. Tree houses are becoming 00:06:45.33\00:06:49.44 very popular. You know something I'm going to show you something. 00:06:49.47\00:06:53.54 In heaven, you can have a tree house. Ellen White is a lady 00:06:53.58\00:06:58.68 that lived over 100 years ago and God showed her many things 00:06:58.71\00:07:03.55 and one of the things he showed her would qualify for tree 00:07:03.59\00:07:08.32 houses. And we're going to show you that, but first I'd like to 00:07:08.36\00:07:14.03 share with you an image of where I live in the mountains and 00:07:14.06\00:07:19.00 where we have this deer and elk that come to our house, come to 00:07:19.03\00:07:23.51 our feeder and there's a deer that will actually come and eat 00:07:23.54\00:07:27.28 out of my hand. This mother deer will actually come when I call 00:07:27.31\00:07:30.98 her a few times. She likes apples and I take an apple and 00:07:31.01\00:07:36.58 a knife and go out there and cut slices and she just loves apples 00:07:36.62\00:07:40.39 and she loves those little carrots. Actually, we've had 00:07:40.42\00:07:45.06 three deer that we have been able to feed. We have a couple 00:07:45.09\00:07:49.86 hundred elk that are in the valley. I was looking out of our 00:07:49.90\00:07:54.04 front door of our house and you see an elk there. There were 00:07:54.07\00:07:57.37 actually more elk, there were about five elk out there keeping 00:07:57.41\00:08:01.71 our lawn mowed. These elk are quite tame too. I told my wife 00:08:01.74\00:08:05.75 I think if I worked with them I could probably get them eating 00:08:05.78\00:08:09.75 out of my hand. With the deer if you throw the apple out, you 00:08:09.78\00:08:12.92 know, they get fairly close to you and I don't have dogs to 00:08:12.95\00:08:16.06 chase them away. They will actually get curious if you 00:08:16.09\00:08:20.13 throw an apple close to them and they'll come up and eat and then 00:08:20.16\00:08:23.40 you bring it closer and closer and close. Finally, you hold it 00:08:23.43\00:08:26.67 out. Well that morning that you saw that elk, there were 00:08:26.70\00:08:29.07 were actually five mowing the lawn there and I went out and 00:08:29.10\00:08:31.64 talked to them and they just kept eating and they'd look at 00:08:31.67\00:08:34.51 me and didn't run away. Then I opened the garage door to go to 00:08:34.54\00:08:37.01 work. The garage door is very noisy. I thought well that will 00:08:37.05\00:08:39.61 scare them. It didn't scare them I drove the car out, closed the 00:08:39.65\00:08:42.15 door; that didn't scare them. Drove away. They were all there 00:08:42.18\00:08:45.95 So, that's kind of the way it's going to be in heaven. The Bible 00:08:45.99\00:08:49.72 says the animals are afraid of us now because of the sin of 00:08:49.76\00:08:54.43 Adam... The fear of you and the dread of you. But in heaven I 00:08:54.46\00:09:01.37 think you're going to get to work with these animals, the 00:09:01.40\00:09:08.28 deer and the elk and I think it's just going to be a 00:09:08.31\00:09:09.94 fantastic place. But I want to share with you some pictures of 00:09:09.98\00:09:14.95 tree houses now. Kids, how would you like a tree house like this? 00:09:14.98\00:09:20.12 Would that be incredible having a tree house like that. Wouldn't 00:09:20.16\00:09:25.19 that be cool. That's kind of a fantasy. Looks like a fantasy 00:09:25.23\00:09:29.86 design but we've got some other tree houses that are not. This 00:09:29.93\00:09:34.47 is going to be a fantastic tree house. Look at that. How would 00:09:34.50\00:09:37.94 you like to live in something that? Wouldn't that be cool? 00:09:37.97\00:09:41.41 The ultimate Swiss Family Robinson tree house. Here's 00:09:41.44\00:09:45.95 another tree house that is very modern looking. Wouldn't that 00:09:46.01\00:09:52.69 be cool living in that? We've got one more coming up here. 00:09:52.72\00:09:59.06 This is a very modern one. Do you know that God gave Ellen 00:09:59.09\00:10:05.33 White a vision of something like this, Spiritual Gifts, 52. She 00:10:05.37\00:10:11.11 said I saw the most beautiful houses that had the appearance 00:10:11.14\00:10:15.51 of silver. Does that look like a silver-appearing house? I saw 00:10:15.54\00:10:19.41 the most beautiful houses that had the appearance of silver 00:10:19.48\00:10:23.62 supported by four pillars set with pearls which were the most 00:10:23.65\00:10:27.19 glorious to behold which were the inhabitances of the saints. 00:10:27.22\00:10:32.06 I have probably 30 pictures of tree houses and they're all 00:10:32.09\00:10:36.83 supported on pillars; almost all of them are on pillars. Here she 00:10:36.87\00:10:41.90 saw these trees. Imagine a tree house in the country, what it 00:10:41.94\00:10:46.54 would be like to have the beauties of the sunrise and the 00:10:46.57\00:10:51.11 sunset and the fresh air in the mountains, and the birds singing 00:10:51.15\00:10:55.62 and all that. I'm going like wow heaven is an incredible place. 00:10:55.68\00:11:00.12 She says, human language is inadequate to describe the 00:11:00.16\00:11:05.69 reward of the righteous. It will be known only to those who 00:11:05.73\00:11:10.90 behold it. No finite mind can comprehend the glory 00:11:10.93\00:11:14.47 of the paradise to come. Folks if you want a tree house in 00:11:14.50\00:11:18.24 heaven the Bible says we're going to build houses and 00:11:18.27\00:11:21.01 inhabit them. In fact, I think you may have three houses in 00:11:21.04\00:11:25.08 heaven because Jesus says, in my Father's house are many 00:11:25.11\00:11:29.38 mansions. Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you and the 00:11:29.42\00:11:32.79 Bible says you're going to build houses and inhabit them. So, it 00:11:32.82\00:11:36.12 could be that you have three houses in heaven, but a tree 00:11:36.16\00:11:39.53 house like you saw on the screen wouldn't that just be incredible 00:11:39.56\00:11:44.77 Our next image is of our earth and here is our earth in space. 00:11:44.80\00:11:50.14 What holds the earth up? What if you live in Australia on the 00:11:50.21\00:11:54.81 bottom of the earth. Remember the kids singing this song, what 00:11:54.84\00:11:58.98 holds me up when the world's upside down. Well it's so big 00:11:59.01\00:12:03.12 it's so big and so small actually, compared to the sun 00:12:03.15\00:12:07.99 and other things, it's very, very small. The Bible has a lot 00:12:08.02\00:12:13.56 to say about the earth. Jesus created the earth. By him were 00:12:13.60\00:12:20.07 all things made by him and without him was not anything 00:12:20.10\00:12:25.24 made. They used to think that the earth was flat. It looks 00:12:25.27\00:12:29.94 flat doesn't it when you walk outside. Until we got a space 00:12:29.98\00:12:33.28 craft. You get in the space craft; all of a sudden you see 00:12:33.31\00:12:37.35 the earth as round. The Bible said that correctly that God 00:12:37.39\00:12:41.42 sits over the circle of the earth. They used to think it was 00:12:42.42\00:12:46.13 flat. Some religions taught that the earth was supported on 00:12:46.19\00:12:49.83 the backs of turtles. Somebody said well what's the turtle 00:12:49.86\00:12:53.47 stand on? Well another turtle. They said it was turtles all the 00:12:53.50\00:12:57.21 way down. Some religions taught it was on the back of elephants. 00:12:57.24\00:13:01.28 Used to believe it was supported on the back of Charles Atlas. 00:13:01.31\00:13:05.45 God said he hangs the earth on nothing and here it is in space 00:13:05.48\00:13:09.55 Wow, wow, how is it held on nothing? Well, it's gravity 00:13:09.58\00:13:13.15 isn't it that holds the earth as it travels around the sun. Earth 00:13:13.19\00:13:18.66 is just the perfect place for us to live. If it were any closer 00:13:18.69\00:13:24.07 to the sun you would not be comfortable because of the heat. 00:13:24.10\00:13:28.57 If it were farther away it would be just too cool to have life 00:13:28.60\00:13:33.04 and to grow food and so forth. So God placed the earth so 00:13:33.07\00:13:37.15 perfectly. The spinning of the earth is so critical. It just 00:13:37.18\00:13:42.42 turns the right amount. It turns every 24 hours. If it turned 00:13:42.45\00:13:46.25 like every 12 hours, you would just scorch to death with the 00:13:46.32\00:13:50.59 temperature. Imagine if sun came out and stayed in the sky for a 00:13:50.63\00:13:54.86 long time, you'd be overheated and then when it got dark it 00:13:54.90\00:13:58.40 would get so cold. The temperature drops very fast. 00:13:58.43\00:14:01.80 Up in the mountains where I live it really drops when the sun 00:14:01.87\00:14:06.84 goes down because the heat escapes from the earth. So, 00:14:06.88\00:14:10.58 there are so many things about the earth that are just 00:14:10.61\00:14:14.25 perfectly designed. It didn't just happen. It shows that we 00:14:14.32\00:14:20.29 have a creator that had us in mind and did just a perfect job 00:14:20.32\00:14:26.16 of creating our earth. We could go take a look at the next 00:14:26.19\00:14:31.60 graphic, which we have, Saturn and Jupiter, Uranus Neptune. Now 00:14:31.63\00:14:37.97 you see the little earth down there. We could fit a million earths inside of our sun 00:14:38.01\00:14:44.31 About 1300 would fit inside Jupiter. We see Saturn with 00:14:44.35\00:14:48.62 those beautiful rings. Those rings extend out about 170,000 00:14:48.65\00:14:52.42 miles. If you put the rings on the edge of our earth it would 00:14:52.45\00:14:56.16 almost reach out to the moon. Then the two blue ones are 00:14:56.19\00:14:59.03 Uranus and Neptune. You wouldn't want to live on any of thee. 00:14:59.09\00:15:03.37 These are all perfectly placed for us. You would not survive on 00:15:03.40\00:15:07.64 Venus; you would die within minutes. On Mars, you couldn't 00:15:07.67\00:15:11.34 last very long without all kinds of special apparatus to make you 00:15:11.37\00:15:15.01 comfortable and keep you warm. You wouldn't be able to grow any 00:15:15.04\00:15:20.58 food. Mercury would be hot on one side and cold on the other 00:15:20.62\00:15:24.75 side. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, we don't even know 00:15:24.79\00:15:28.36 if you have a hard surface, if you could put a chair there or 00:15:28.39\00:15:31.56 if you could walk on it, because they're gas giants. We just have 00:15:31.59\00:15:36.40 gas and we can't see below the clouds so we don't know what is 00:15:36.43\00:15:42.70 there. On our next graphic, we have a galaxy. Now our sun is 00:15:42.74\00:15:48.38 part of a hundred billion stars, more stars than you can count. 00:15:48.44\00:15:53.01 This is kind of what a galaxy looks like. It's just all these 00:15:53.05\00:15:57.15 stars and our sun, which is just a star, it's just an average 00:15:57.19\00:16:01.62 star, nothing special about our sun and it's located on the edge 00:16:01.66\00:16:06.09 in the Orion arm. It's about two-thirds of the way out from 00:16:06.13\00:16:09.30 the center of the galaxy in what's known as the Orion arm of 00:16:09.36\00:16:13.64 the Milky Way galaxy. And that's a perfect place for us to be 00:16:13.67\00:16:21.18 too. So we see it's designed for us. We have coming up a graphic 00:16:21.21\00:16:28.68 that might be a little fun exercise. You can impress your 00:16:28.72\00:16:31.82 friends here if you like because if you see the list here, you 00:16:31.85\00:16:35.42 could write your name so that you could be found any place in 00:16:35.46\00:16:38.89 the universe, anybody could find you. So, you'd start first with 00:16:38.93\00:16:42.20 your name, put your name on the first line. You might want to 00:16:42.26\00:16:45.10 write this down. The second line you put your street address, 00:16:45.13\00:16:49.10 then you put your city, then you put your zip code and whatever 00:16:49.14\00:16:54.98 state or country you're in. In this case, I'm in Illinois and 00:16:55.01\00:17:00.65 the country would be United States. The continent would be 00:17:00.68\00:17:06.69 North America. The planet would be Earth and our star would be 00:17:06.72\00:17:11.76 the sun and our location in the galaxy would be the Orion arm 00:17:11.79\00:17:16.93 of the Milky Way galaxy and the galaxy would be the Milky Way. 00:17:16.97\00:17:22.30 Which galaxy cluster? Our galaxy is part of the Virgo cluster 00:17:22.34\00:17:27.14 that we call the local cluster. So, that would be something fun 00:17:27.18\00:17:31.41 you might enjoy, writing your address so anybody, any place 00:17:31.48\00:17:35.92 in the universe, could find you. The next graphic coming up is 00:17:35.95\00:17:40.89 what's known as the Jewel Box. The Jewel Box is a star cluster 00:17:40.92\00:17:45.43 of hundreds of stars. It's just a beautiful, beautiful sight and 00:17:45.46\00:17:50.37 they've named it the Jewel Box. When I think of that, you know 00:17:50.40\00:17:55.60 the Bible talks about his jewels in Malachi 3:17; he's going to 00:17:55.64\00:18:00.98 make up his jewels. As I go to speak in churches I often do the 00:18:01.01\00:18:05.51 children's story and we use this for the children's story, the 00:18:05.55\00:18:09.42 pictures that are coming up now. But we show the Jewel Box and we 00:18:09.48\00:18:13.32 sing the little song and I'd like to try to sing it to you. 00:18:13.36\00:18:16.29 Many of you probably have heard it and would join in with me and 00:18:16.32\00:18:21.13 it goes something like this: When He cometh, When He cometh, 00:18:21.16\00:18:25.93 To make up His jewels. All His Jewels, precious jewels, 00:18:25.97\00:18:32.94 His loved and His own. Like the stars of the morning, 00:18:32.97\00:18:39.91 His bright crown adorning. They shall shine in their beauty 00:18:39.95\00:18:46.52 Bright gems for His crown. He will gather, He will gather, 00:18:46.55\00:18:53.13 the gems for His kingdom. All the pure ones, 00:18:53.16\00:18:57.70 All the bright ones. His loved and His own. 00:18:57.73\00:19:01.84 Then the chorus: Like the stars of the morning, 00:19:01.87\00:19:05.91 His bright crown adorning, They shall shine in their beauty 00:19:05.94\00:19:12.58 Bright gems for his crown. And the third verse: 00:19:12.61\00:19:18.05 Little children, Little children Who love their Redeemer, 00:19:18.12\00:19:24.46 Are the jewels, precious jewels His loved and His own. 00:19:24.49\00:19:30.57 Like the stars of the morning, His bright crown adorning, 00:19:30.60\00:19:36.37 They shall shine in their beauty Bright gems for His crown. 00:19:36.40\00:19:43.68 Yes, you can be Jesus' jewels. He probably can't wait to show 00:19:43.71\00:19:48.58 you the beautiful things of the heavens. I think we're going to 00:19:48.65\00:19:52.45 get to travel with Jesus. I bet he just can't wait to take you 00:19:52.49\00:19:57.43 to show you the wonderful things he has created. As we move on in 00:19:57.46\00:20:02.36 our program the next graphic we have... Have you ever looked 00:20:02.40\00:20:05.67 up in the sky and you saw a cloud, something that maybe 00:20:05.70\00:20:10.64 looks like a bunny rabbit? We often see clouds that look like 00:20:10.67\00:20:16.78 different things. Here, coming up, is a picture of a fish and 00:20:16.81\00:20:21.35 this would be... You could say well that looks like a red 00:20:21.38\00:20:26.29 snapper fish in the sunset; a beautiful sight to see, but it 00:20:26.32\00:20:30.89 looks like a fish. Then we have another one that looks like a 00:20:30.93\00:20:34.93 feather. And it really does, doesn't it, look like a feather. 00:20:34.96\00:20:40.74 Then we have one that looks like a hummingbird and low and behold 00:20:40.77\00:20:45.44 when we look through a telescope we see things that look like 00:20:45.47\00:20:50.15 these little creatures. In the next case you'll see a butterfly 00:20:50.18\00:20:54.82 and we have a butterfly wing nebula. I put together 275 of 00:20:54.85\00:20:59.79 these pictures for the Michigan Conference who wanted to teach 00:20:59.82\00:21:03.96 their Adventurers astronomy. Isn't that a beautiful picture 00:21:03.99\00:21:07.90 of the butterfly wing nebula. Just absolutely breathtaking. 00:21:07.93\00:21:13.50 That is actually an exploding star and we have hundreds of 00:21:13.54\00:21:18.47 those in the sky. As I mentioned before we believe, and what 00:21:18.51\00:21:22.81 seems to be true, is we have these stars that are so big like 00:21:22.84\00:21:27.98 Betelgeuse in Orion is a billion miles in diameter. And these 00:21:28.02\00:21:32.45 biggest stars like Betelgeuse in Orion and Canis Majoris and some 00:21:32.52\00:21:36.93 of these, they think will be like a balloon. You blow up a 00:21:36.96\00:21:40.63 balloon, it gets too big, it pops and it becomes very bright 00:21:40.66\00:21:45.07 for a few weeks, a few months maybe. So, gas goes out in 00:21:45.13\00:21:49.47 opposite directions. Now the butterfly nebula what we believe 00:21:49.50\00:21:53.68 is that there is a very intense magnetic field in the center 00:21:53.71\00:21:58.61 here that caused it to go just like a balloon, you know a 00:21:58.65\00:22:03.45 circle. Actually, the magnetic field in the center of that star 00:22:03.49\00:22:07.66 would cause it to shoot out in opposite directions 00:22:07.69\00:22:10.73 symmetrically. In fact, you could go take a look if your 00:22:10.76\00:22:15.40 kids are on the internet, look up the Van Allen belts, because 00:22:15.46\00:22:20.04 our earth has a magnetic field. That magnetic field of our earth 00:22:20.07\00:22:25.14 protects us. It protects us from radiation from the sun. If you 00:22:25.17\00:22:29.48 look at the Van Allen belts, the magnetic field around our earth 00:22:29.54\00:22:33.68 makes the lobes symmetrical just like the butterfly wing nebula 00:22:33.72\00:22:37.59 and some of the other exploding stars that we have that go out 00:22:37.62\00:22:41.52 symmetrically in opposite directions. That's why when this 00:22:41.56\00:22:46.46 one exploded it didn't just go like a big circle but went out 00:22:46.49\00:22:50.73 in opposite directions. So, we see that from time to time. 00:22:50.77\00:22:54.94 There are quite a number of them that are that way, the butterfly 00:22:54.97\00:22:58.84 wing nebula is another one that does it. In our next graphic, we 00:22:58.87\00:23:06.05 have some little mice. Somebody used that and called the mice 00:23:06.08\00:23:11.45 galaxies. So here you see two galaxies in the next image and 00:23:11.52\00:23:16.36 they have tails, that one has a long tail on it. So, they have 00:23:16.39\00:23:21.60 been named the mice galaxies. Now a galaxy is outside of our 00:23:21.63\00:23:25.67 Milky Way. A galaxy is something way, way out in space. We're 00:23:25.70\00:23:29.64 talking 30 million years where it would take like 30 million 00:23:29.67\00:23:33.41 years to get here from that because it's so, so far away. 00:23:33.44\00:23:36.68 We can't even comprehend what that would mean. It's just 00:23:36.71\00:23:40.88 really, really far away. The next image we have is actually 00:23:40.92\00:23:46.02 of a Chevy Nova and there's just a regular Chevy Nova but the 00:23:46.05\00:23:51.33 next one is a Super Nova, it's a hot rod Nova and if you're 00:23:51.39\00:23:55.43 familiar with anything in space you know that's a term we use. 00:23:55.46\00:23:59.83 So, the next image that we have is a super nova in our galaxy. 00:23:59.87\00:24:03.77 A super nova would be one of those stars that explodes and 00:24:03.81\00:24:08.44 that I mentioned before. We believe the stars, but big ones, 00:24:08.48\00:24:12.81 Canis Majoris, 1.8 billion miles in diameter, Arcturus is a 00:24:12.85\00:24:16.75 really big star, Antares is a really big star. We believe they 00:24:16.79\00:24:19.95 burn up their fuel and they get bigger and bigger and bigger 00:24:19.99\00:24:23.73 like a balloon. They get so big they can't contain themselves 00:24:23.76\00:24:27.86 and we get this big explosion. So, that would be a super nova. 00:24:27.90\00:24:34.54 People have asked if a star exploded what does that have to 00:24:34.57\00:24:39.77 do with heaven and God and a creator? There are a couple 00:24:39.81\00:24:43.71 scriptures that might help us understand. We don't know when 00:24:43.75\00:24:46.82 that exploded, if that was part of the curse. Because when Adam 00:24:46.85\00:24:52.39 sinned we had curses, didn't we? But if you look at Hebrews 1 00:24:52.42\00:24:56.89 verse 11, it says of old he laid the foundations of the earth 00:24:56.93\00:25:00.90 and the heavens are the works of his hands, they will perish. The 00:25:00.93\00:25:05.07 heavens are going to perish but God will endure. So, it says yea 00:25:05.10\00:25:09.20 they shall wax old like a garment, as a vesture shalt thou 00:25:09.24\00:25:11.94 change them. So, the Bible talks about the heavens perishing, it 00:25:11.97\00:25:15.64 talks about like as a vesture shalt thou change them. This is 00:25:15.71\00:25:19.65 a vesture. In King James, a jacket would be like a vesture. 00:25:19.71\00:25:23.59 It casts off its outer shell and there's always a star remaining 00:25:23.62\00:25:27.19 in the center. Well we need to move along. The next image we 00:25:27.22\00:25:31.29 have is the tadpole and we have a galaxy that kind of looks like 00:25:31.33\00:25:35.36 a tadpole. It's called the tadpole galaxy. That's kind of 00:25:35.40\00:25:40.07 a cool picture. The next image we have is of sombrero. We have 00:25:40.10\00:25:43.97 a galaxy which has been named the sombrero galaxy which is we 00:25:44.01\00:25:47.88 believe probably the biggest galaxy we have out there. They 00:25:47.91\00:25:51.75 think this may have up to 800 billion stars. There's kind of a 00:25:51.78\00:25:55.58 dark lane through the center. Sombrero galaxy has a 00:25:55.62\00:25:58.65 designation M104. To look at that, it's in the spring of the 00:25:58.69\00:26:02.39 year, it's in the area called the realm of the galaxies. 00:26:02.42\00:26:06.63 The next picture is a horsehead. Then we have a horsehead in 00:26:06.66\00:26:10.83 Orion. Here's the horsehead picture in Orion. This is 00:26:10.87\00:26:13.67 located right on the bottom belt star of Orion, right below... 00:26:13.70\00:26:17.57 If you look at the belt of Orion he has the shoulders and three 00:26:17.61\00:26:21.24 stars in his belt. The horsehead is right there at the very 00:26:21.28\00:26:25.31 bottom of the belt star. Next image is an ant and we have 00:26:25.35\00:26:29.18 what is called the ant nebula. Now nebula means just a cloud. 00:26:29.22\00:26:33.82 It's the ant cloud. There are four basic types of nebulae. 00:26:33.86\00:26:37.49 The nebulae are bright because they're hot, some because they 00:26:37.53\00:26:40.76 have hot stars in them. Then we have the dark ones like the 00:26:40.80\00:26:43.97 horsehead which is a dark nebula. Then we have these 00:26:44.00\00:26:45.97 exploding stars which we call planetary nebulae. The next 00:26:46.00\00:26:50.91 image is of an Eskimo and we have a star that looks like an 00:26:50.94\00:26:56.08 Eskimo and the next image shows the Eskimo nebula from an 00:26:56.11\00:27:00.65 amateur telescope. This is what you'd see if you had a decent 00:27:00.68\00:27:04.69 telescope. You see a little Eskimo there. He's got a cold 00:27:04.72\00:27:08.69 nose. You see his lips and he's got a parka on. But the Hubble 00:27:08.72\00:27:11.36 did a much better job of photographing the Eskimo. That's 00:27:11.39\00:27:15.83 really an incredible image that the Hubble gives us from the 00:27:15.86\00:27:19.07 Eskimo nebula and we have hundreds of these in our Milky 00:27:19.10\00:27:22.24 Way galaxy. That's about all the pictures we can show you for 00:27:22.27\00:27:25.81 today because the time for the show is just about over. But I 00:27:25.84\00:27:29.44 want to thank you for watching Heaven's Declare. We have a 00:27:29.48\00:27:33.05 whole series of programs you may want to order. But we long for 00:27:33.08\00:27:36.05 the day when Jesus is coming to take us to see these beautiful 00:27:36.08\00:27:39.25 things he's created. Thank you for watching Heaven's Declare. 00:27:39.29\00:27:42.42 We'll see you next time. 00:27:42.46\00:27:43.79
