¤ ¤ 00:00:05.63\00:00:23.79 Welcome to Heavens Declare. 00:00:23.82\00:00:25.62 I'm Jim Burr. Today We're going to talk about the attributes of 00:00:25.65\00:00:30.83 God in the heavens and it's going to take two programs. 00:00:30.86\00:00:33.40 You know the Bible talks about many attributes of God connected 00:00:33.43\00:00:38.33 with the heavens and I've discovered 21, actually 21 00:00:38.37\00:00:42.44 attributes of God that have something to do with the 00:00:42.47\00:00:45.94 heavens. We see the love of God and the wisdom, the 00:00:45.97\00:00:49.34 understanding, his knowledge. By his knowledge he built, he 00:00:49.38\00:00:54.68 made the heavens, by his power, by his wisdom. We're told in his 00:00:54.75\00:00:59.05 presence there's fullness of joy, at his right hand are 00:00:59.09\00:01:01.36 pleasures forevermore. You know, I had a pastor one time that 00:01:01.42\00:01:06.59 said, heaven is kind of spiritual. I called him back. 00:01:06.63\00:01:11.93 It wasn't one of our pastors. But I called him back, he was 00:01:11.97\00:01:15.97 out in Seattle. Tell me more, what you mean, it's kind of 00:01:16.00\00:01:22.31 spiritual. You know heaven is not commercial, but it's 00:01:22.34\00:01:26.72 material and we're going to plant and eat, we're going to 00:01:26.75\00:01:31.02 build and inhabit, and we're going to long enjoy the works of 00:01:31.05\00:01:33.96 our hands. What do you like to do with your hands? I like to 00:01:33.99\00:01:37.79 build telescopes with my hands. I've build a couple of hot rods 00:01:37.83\00:01:41.63 in my life, a model T. Twice I built a model T hotrod from 00:01:41.66\00:01:45.90 scratch. I just got iron and a fiberglass body and engine, 00:01:45.93\00:01:49.57 transmission, rear end, a brass radiator and put together this 00:01:49.60\00:01:54.31 model T hotrod. One thing I would love to do is I would love 00:01:54.34\00:01:59.25 to build a V-8 motorcycle. We got the machine. I built a 00:01:59.28\00:02:02.88 telescope for NASA. We got machines, I could build you 00:02:02.92\00:02:06.65 probably a pretty cool motor cycle, V-8. Now another thing 00:02:06.69\00:02:10.33 I'd like would be a pipe organ. My wife, Bietta plays the organ. 00:02:10.36\00:02:14.33 We have a 16-foot cathedral ceiling. I could just envision 00:02:14.36\00:02:17.90 an organ and pipes up there, you know, that would just rattle the 00:02:17.93\00:02:23.24 rafters. Oh, I'd love that. But you know life is too short. 00:02:23.27\00:02:29.21 I've been around the sun, I'm on my 79th trip around the sun, one 00:02:29.24\00:02:32.11 of the benefits you get for living on earth is you get a 00:02:32.15\00:02:35.28 free trip around the sun every year. So I'm going around for 00:02:35.32\00:02:38.35 79th time. But I just don't have time. There's no time to build 00:02:38.39\00:02:41.62 a V-8 motorcycle. Don't have time to build a pipe organ. But 00:02:41.66\00:02:44.56 you know in heaven you're going to have a long time to enjoy the 00:02:44.59\00:02:48.83 works of your hands. So in the heavens we see God's goodness, 00:02:48.86\00:02:53.54 we see his justice. He inhabits eternity and he inhabits our 00:02:53.57\00:02:58.17 praise. This is an amazing attribute of God that he 00:02:58.21\00:03:01.44 inhabits our praise. We're going to see the riches of God, the 00:03:01.48\00:03:04.65 extravagant beauty of God. We're going to see his faithfulness, 00:03:04.68\00:03:10.39 his power and his mercy. You know, I think all three in the 00:03:10.42\00:03:15.42 Godhead were involved in the creation of the universe. In 00:03:15.46\00:03:20.03 John it says of Jesus, by him all things were made, without 00:03:20.06\00:03:24.80 him was not anything made. When we look in Genesis it talks 00:03:24.83\00:03:29.87 about the Spirit of God was moving upon the waters and in 00:03:29.90\00:03:35.48 fact if we look at Job 26 it says that by his Spirit has he 00:03:35.51\00:03:39.28 adorned the heavens or garnished the heavens. So I'm going to 00:03:39.31\00:03:43.08 show you just a few pictures here of the beauties of the 00:03:43.12\00:03:46.29 heavens. The first one we have coming up is V838. We don't even 00:03:46.32\00:03:50.56 know what this one is actually. They don't think it's an 00:03:50.59\00:03:53.43 exploding star although it looks like an exploding star. They 00:03:53.50\00:03:57.07 have watched this think change for a couple of years. At first 00:03:57.10\00:04:00.44 we thought the first evidence here that something was going on 00:04:00.47\00:04:03.81 in 2002 in January. It took until May to get the Hubble 00:04:03.84\00:04:07.58 turned over there because the Hubble had other assignments. 00:04:07.64\00:04:11.31 So then the Hubble photographed in May and then September and 00:04:11.38\00:04:15.52 December. This is a photograph later in 2004. It's in our 00:04:15.55\00:04:19.45 galaxy. They call it V838. They don't really know what it is. 00:04:19.49\00:04:23.66 They think it's a blast of light that went out and kind of 00:04:23.69\00:04:27.80 illuminated these clouds behind. What a beautiful sight that is 00:04:27.86\00:04:31.00 to see. The next one we have coming up is the cone nebula and 00:04:31.03\00:04:35.87 that's over just east of Orion, a beautiful sight to see. They 00:04:35.90\00:04:39.81 think that's out-gassing that the radiation from the stars 00:04:39.84\00:04:43.24 on the top there are causing that cloud, like a piece of dry 00:04:43.28\00:04:46.95 ice to out-gas and vaporize and so forth. But when you see all 00:04:46.98\00:04:51.32 these beautiful pictures I would just suggest that all three of 00:04:51.35\00:04:55.12 the Godhead were involved, I believe, in the creation of the 00:04:55.16\00:04:58.46 beauties that we see. This is known as the Crab Nebula. This 00:04:58.49\00:05:01.63 is a star that nobody noticed the night before and one night 00:05:01.66\00:05:05.30 July 4, 1054, this thing just blew and could be seen in the 00:05:05.33\00:05:08.94 daytime. It got very, very bright. These clouds are 00:05:08.97\00:05:11.54 traveling out at about 400,000 miles every second. They've 00:05:11.57\00:05:16.44 photographed that every 15 years and actually played it back on a 00:05:16.48\00:05:21.55 computer to verify the fact that it blew up on July 4, 1054. 00:05:21.58\00:05:25.99 A little side note: You know we have many Christians who say 00:05:26.02\00:05:30.59 this universe was made 6,000 years ago. Well how does the 00:05:30.63\00:05:34.10 light get here from all these galaxies if they're millions of 00:05:34.13\00:05:37.53 light years away. So they have all these theories and all these 00:05:37.57\00:05:40.94 ideas how light could've got here and one of them they say 00:05:40.97\00:05:44.11 well light used to be infinite, you know, God created infinite 00:05:44.14\00:05:47.51 fast, now light's been slowing down. Well I think any amateur 00:05:47.54\00:05:51.25 can go to the library and verify that that's not true. If you go 00:05:51.28\00:05:54.95 to the library and look up the Crab Nebula and look up how 00:05:54.98\00:05:58.05 they photographed that every 15 years. They played it back on a 00:05:58.09\00:06:01.52 computer and they verified that it happened when the Chinese 00:06:01.56\00:06:05.03 said it happened. So I think that'd be a thousand years ago 00:06:05.09\00:06:08.33 and I think that proves the speed of light hasn't changed, 00:06:08.36\00:06:11.60 because we weren't able a thousand years ago to measure 00:06:11.63\00:06:14.84 light, of course, like we do today. So we have an 00:06:14.87\00:06:21.64 illustration coming up I'd like to share with you. This is an 00:06:21.71\00:06:27.98 illustration of... This is Jupiter, this is going to 00:06:28.02\00:06:31.62 represent Jupiter, and the string is gravity that holds 00:06:31.65\00:06:35.19 Jupiter. My hand is the sun. Jupiter is held to the sun, you 00:06:35.22\00:06:38.76 know, with gravity. But when Jupiter goes around the sun, it 00:06:38.79\00:06:42.26 actually moves the sun off center, and you see my hand 00:06:42.30\00:06:45.93 wobble. What if I was spinning a bowling ball? You know, I could 00:06:45.97\00:06:48.60 not even do that. I'd need somebody up here to help me. 00:06:48.64\00:06:50.97 But Jupiter actually moves the sun 500,000 miles off center and 00:06:51.04\00:06:55.94 when Jupiter and Saturn gang up on the sun, when they're on 00:06:56.01\00:07:00.92 each opposite sides the sun comes back right almost back to 00:07:00.98\00:07:04.45 perfect center where you'd expect it to be. It's called the 00:07:04.49\00:07:09.36 Berry center of the rotation of three bodies. When Jupiter and 00:07:09.39\00:07:13.40 Saturn are on the same side of the sun, the sun moves almost a 00:07:13.43\00:07:16.67 million miles, when they're on opposite sides, the sun comes 00:07:16.70\00:07:20.70 back almost to the center. In the next graphic, we have an 00:07:20.74\00:07:26.24 illustration of what it looks like. Here's how the sun moves 00:07:26.27\00:07:30.61 as Jupiter and Saturn go around. See it's really doing a 00:07:30.65\00:07:36.18 tremendous amount of wobbling there as it goes around. I was 00:07:36.22\00:07:41.32 sitting in a lecture from a professor from the University of 00:07:41.36\00:07:46.26 Oklahoma talking about gravity. He was saying that when we have 00:07:46.29\00:07:50.77 three bodies, you can almost see it with all those lines, nobody, 00:07:50.80\00:07:54.50 no mathematician can ever give you a formula for the rotation 00:07:54.54\00:07:58.21 of three bodies that are different sizes, different 00:07:58.24\00:08:01.91 masses. If you had three equal, of course, they would be going 00:08:01.94\00:08:05.41 around perfectly, but three of different masses, and I verified 00:08:05.45\00:08:08.88 that. When I got home from this lecture I e-mailed him. I said, 00:08:10.15\00:08:13.19 Professor, before I repeat this in public, did I hear you 00:08:13.22\00:08:16.76 correctly? And he said yes; go to Wikipedia/Three body problem. 00:08:16.79\00:08:19.69 Nobody has ever... He said we can work on it, we can get close 00:08:19.73\00:08:22.60 The more we work on it the closer we get but nobody can 00:08:22.63\00:08:25.63 give you a formula for the center of rotation of three 00:08:25.67\00:08:28.60 bodies that are different masses He said we can simulate it on a 00:08:28.64\00:08:31.24 computer but mathematically we cannot write a formula. What 00:08:31.27\00:08:34.78 really impressed me was the fact that I've been showing audiences 00:08:34.81\00:08:38.91 what you're going to see in a little bit here for a few years 00:08:38.95\00:08:43.95 where the Hubble zoomed in on 10 million stars, the Omega star 00:08:43.99\00:08:48.02 cluster. It watched these stars for four years and you're going 00:08:48.06\00:08:51.96 see the motion of stars for the next four years. So I think we 00:08:51.99\00:08:55.63 are ready for that to roll right now as the Hubble zoomed in on 00:08:55.66\00:08:59.30 the Omega star cluster. The Omega cluster is part of our 00:08:59.33\00:09:03.17 Milky Way galaxy. We have hundreds of these we call them 00:09:03.20\00:09:06.34 globuloclusters of stars. There are hundreds of them in our 00:09:06.37\00:09:10.15 Milky Way galaxy. The Omega one we can't see from the northern 00:09:10.18\00:09:13.95 hemisphere where I happen to live. Southern hemisphere people 00:09:13.98\00:09:17.45 can see it, but we have one almost as good in the Hercules, 00:09:17.49\00:09:21.09 constellation of Hercules, called the Hercules cluster. 00:09:21.12\00:09:25.43 Now when it switches over to color, you'll see we have 125- 00:09:25.46\00:09:29.43 million-dollar camera on the Hubble and you see the beautiful 00:09:29.46\00:09:33.10 colors of the stars. The red ones, the yellow ones, are the 00:09:33.13\00:09:36.20 cooler stars. The blue ones and the white ones would be the 00:09:36.24\00:09:39.24 hotter stars. Those are blazing suns like our sun. These are all 00:09:39.27\00:09:42.84 blazing suns. And you see their motion, how they're going to 00:09:42.88\00:09:46.72 move over 10,000 years. And God's got it all controlled. We 00:09:46.75\00:09:51.02 can't... Nobody on earth can give you a mathematical formula 00:09:51.05\00:09:54.69 for three rotations the rotation of three, but God's got it all 00:09:54.72\00:09:58.33 figured out and we have 10 million in that cluster. So it 00:09:58.36\00:10:05.00 shows you that we have an incredible God. He calls them 00:10:05.03\00:10:09.70 all by their name. How would you like to name those stars? 00:10:09.74\00:10:14.34 He calls them all by their name. You know, he knows the sparrow 00:10:14.38\00:10:17.25 that falls, he knows the hairs on your head, he cares for you. 00:10:17.31\00:10:20.15 There was a statement I was reading... 00:10:20.18\00:10:49.04 We see them moving in a cluster but they are also moving around 00:10:49.08\00:10:52.78 the galaxy. So we have all these motions. I have been told that 00:10:52.81\00:10:57.12 our sun has about 30 different motions. Isaac Newton, you know, 00:10:57.15\00:11:02.79 the famous mathematician made a statement. Isaac Newton was one 00:11:02.82\00:11:08.43 of the most brilliant mathematicians and scientists 00:11:08.46\00:11:13.17 ever. In fact, we have tremendous men of science. We 00:11:13.23\00:11:18.07 have Keppler who was a most godly man and Newton was an 00:11:18.11\00:11:23.95 authority in prophecy and Bible, you know, studied his Bible. He 00:11:23.98\00:11:29.78 said, because of his creatorship we are therefore to acknowledge 00:11:29.82\00:11:33.09 one God, infinite, eternal, omnipresent, omniscient, 00:11:33.12\00:11:37.69 omnipotent, the creator of all things, most wise, most just, 00:11:37.73\00:11:44.43 most good, most holy. We must love him, fear him, honor him, 00:11:44.50\00:11:50.47 trust in him, pray to him, give him thanks, praise him, hallow 00:11:50.51\00:11:56.31 his name, obey his commandments. That was Isaac Newton. We have 00:11:56.34\00:12:02.12 Keppler. I was studying about Keppler. We are not going in 00:12:02.15\00:12:07.36 this series have time to go into the history of astronomy and all 00:12:07.42\00:12:11.36 these guys. That information is readily available. But Keppler, 00:12:11.39\00:12:15.33 what a man of God. I tell you today he'd have been suing 00:12:15.36\00:12:19.33 somebody. People came to Keppler and they said you know 00:12:19.37\00:12:23.27 Galileo, it's Galileo who was plagiarizing your work. What a 00:12:23.30\00:12:30.78 man of God. You know what Keppler said? If God is honored 00:12:30.81\00:12:38.12 let my name be last. Where do you see men like that today? 00:12:38.15\00:12:45.06 We have tremendous men of science we see, men of God. We 00:12:45.09\00:12:50.03 have a picture coming up of a most beautiful galaxy, two 00:12:50.07\00:12:54.97 galaxies actually, gravitationally bound 00:12:55.00\00:12:57.51 together. These are not really large galaxies. Actually to take 00:12:57.57\00:13:01.98 the light across from one to the other is about 100,000 years 00:13:02.01\00:13:05.41 So if you're on one galaxy on the right and you're trying to 00:13:05.45\00:13:08.55 make a phone call across there it's only going to take about 00:13:08.58\00:13:11.59 100,000 years to get the phone to right, and if that party says 00:13:11.62\00:13:14.76 hello it's going to take about 200,000 years to hear the hello. 00:13:14.82\00:13:18.26 You see they're gravitationally bound. You see that one arm 00:13:18.29\00:13:22.63 stretching out off to the left there so they're gravitationally 00:13:22.66\00:13:26.94 tied together. The heaven declare God's creativity. Who 00:13:26.97\00:13:35.61 created all these? Isaiah 40: 25 and 26, it says... 00:13:35.64\00:13:41.98 We're looking at again a remnant of one of those 00:13:42.02\00:13:48.29 exploding stars, a supernova remnant. As we've showed you in 00:13:48.32\00:13:52.93 earlier programs, the biggest stars seem to use up their fuel, 00:13:52.99\00:13:56.80 get bigger and bigger and bigger till they can't support the 00:13:56.83\00:14:00.60 shell, then we get this big blast, and it goes out and 00:14:00.64\00:14:03.74 gradually over time these clouds expand and shift, and expand and 00:14:03.81\00:14:07.58 shift. So this is just a beautiful nebula in our Milky 00:14:07.61\00:14:10.45 Way galaxy. Nothing special there. The next slide is called 00:14:10.48\00:14:15.25 the Crescent Nebula. Again we have hundreds of these in our 00:14:15.28\00:14:19.15 Milky Way galaxy. There are basically four different types 00:14:19.19\00:14:22.79 of nebulae in the galaxy. We have nebula that glow because 00:14:22.82\00:14:26.09 they're hot, we have nebulae that glow because there are hot 00:14:26.13\00:14:29.06 stars, bright stars in the that cause a reflection. We have 00:14:29.13\00:14:31.50 nebulae that are dark. We haven't gotten to the horsehead 00:14:31.53\00:14:34.40 nebula but that will be coming up. That's just interstellar 00:14:34.44\00:14:37.37 dust. Then we have these exploding stars which they call 00:14:37.41\00:14:40.28 planetary nebula. The reason they got their name as planetary 00:14:40.31\00:14:43.81 in the early days of telescopes they saw some of these things 00:14:43.85\00:14:47.55 that look like a planet. Every thing else, every star in a 00:14:47.58\00:14:50.95 telescope unless you're the Hubble, every star is going to 00:14:50.99\00:14:54.52 look like a star. I don't care how big of a telescope you can 00:14:54.56\00:14:57.96 afford you'll never be able to look at a star and see a star. 00:14:57.99\00:15:02.60 It's always going to be a point of light. Now the Hubble can 00:15:02.63\00:15:07.14 zoom in and you can actually see the disks on some stars from the 00:15:07.17\00:15:12.47 Hubble, the bigger stars, the closer stars. So looking through 00:15:12.51\00:15:17.81 a telescope they always look like stars. I don't care how 00:15:17.85\00:15:19.75 much you magnify it, what you're going to see is stars. But the 00:15:19.78\00:15:24.99 planets are always a big disk. So as astronomers looked out and 00:15:25.02\00:15:30.49 see these exploding stars, these supernova remnants, they are so 00:15:30.53\00:15:35.46 that you could actually see a disk in them. So they got their 00:15:35.50\00:15:39.97 name as planetary nebula. But nebulae are basically just a 00:15:40.00\00:15:45.47 Latin word for cloud. So we have those four basic types of 00:15:45.51\00:15:51.98 nebulae. In the attributes of God, how holy is God? We could 00:15:52.01\00:15:57.52 ask Manoah how holy is God. You know Manoah saw an angel and he 00:15:57.55\00:16:01.69 said to his wife, we're going to die, we're going to die, he saw 00:16:01.72\00:16:06.06 an angel. We could ask Job how holy is God. We could ask Daniel 00:16:06.09\00:16:13.94 He would tell you. The seraphims Isaiah 6, the angels who never 00:16:13.97\00:16:19.77 sinned, the angels who never sinned, cover their faces when 00:16:19.84\00:16:25.61 they speak God's name. We think of today how careless people are 00:16:25.65\00:16:29.52 in using the names, the Lord's name in vain. You just cringe 00:16:29.55\00:16:34.62 sometimes when you hear and you go, oh please don't use... The 00:16:34.66\00:16:38.36 Bible says the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh 00:16:38.39\00:16:42.56 his name in vain. So how holy is God? The angels... You know 00:16:42.60\00:16:46.77 Daniel could tell you how holy God is. Woe is me. He identified 00:16:46.80\00:16:50.94 himself with all his people as sinful. Isaiah did the same 00:16:50.97\00:16:54.64 thing. Martin Luther, Martin Luther said, you know, some 00:16:54.68\00:16:57.91 people talk to God like he was a shoemaker's apprentice. 00:16:57.95\00:17:01.08 Disrespect for God. So we want to respect the name of God and 00:17:01.12\00:17:06.42 think about his holiness. The Bible tells us, you know, there 00:17:06.45\00:17:10.53 is a holiness without which no one will see the Lord and that's 00:17:10.56\00:17:14.83 when you have the righteousness of Christ, then you have the 00:17:14.86\00:17:20.80 holiness with which you can see the Lord. Let's see, we have the 00:17:20.84\00:17:26.78 next picture coming up, this is the antennae galaxy. It's 00:17:26.81\00:17:30.58 actually two galaxies gravitationally bound 00:17:30.61\00:17:32.31 together... 00:17:32.35\00:17:37.99 As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride so shall thy God 00:17:38.02\00:17:41.89 rejoice over you The Bible talks about the beauty of holiness. 00:17:41.92\00:17:46.53 That is a beautiful sight. In Psalm 36 it says, your loving 00:17:46.56\00:17:51.10 kindness extends to the heaven, your faithfulness to the skies. 00:17:51.13\00:17:57.64 The Bible says God is faithful, he is faithful. Every day he 00:17:57.67\00:18:02.58 brings the sun up, doesn't he? Every day the sun comes up, the 00:18:02.61\00:18:06.28 stars come up at night. Every day he is faithful. The Bible 00:18:06.31\00:18:09.85 talks at least a dozen times about God's faithfulness it says 00:18:09.88\00:18:13.96 there in the heavens. Some of the scriptures would be Psalm 89 00:18:13.99\00:18:18.06 verse 2. It says... 00:18:18.09\00:18:25.93 The stars come over and we set our GPS by the stars. We've been 00:18:25.97\00:18:29.77 setting our clocks by the stars for years. In Psalm 36 verse 5 00:18:29.80\00:18:33.58 it says... 00:18:33.61\00:18:37.41 Psalm 89 verse 5... 00:18:37.45\00:18:44.42 And we see God's faithfulness in the heavens. 1 John 1:9... 00:18:44.45\00:18:53.50 God is rich, the Bible tells us, he is rich in grace and mercy 00:18:53.53\00:18:59.57 in kindness, in tolerance, in patience. He owns the cattle on 00:18:59.60\00:19:05.71 a thousand hills. If you will Google Diamond star you'll find 00:19:05.77\00:19:11.05 some diamond stars. HD-97048, it has 100 thousand... that's 00:19:11.08\00:19:14.68 the one on the screen, it has 100 thousand to a million 00:19:14.72\00:19:18.25 trillion tons of diamonds. Lawrence Livermore National 00:19:18.29\00:19:21.72 Laboratory tells us that HD97048 the carbon, diamonds are highly 00:19:21.79\00:19:26.33 carbon, carbon, the temperature, the pressure, everything is 00:19:26.36\00:19:30.97 right to make diamonds. HD-97048 a diamond star, maybe a 100 00:19:31.00\00:19:34.97 thousand to a million trillion tons. Now there's another one 00:19:35.00\00:19:40.24 coming up here and this is BPM 37093, another diamond star. 00:19:40.28\00:19:45.81 The interior is a white dwarf with a diameter of 4,000 km. It 00:19:45.85\00:19:50.99 has a hundred billion trillion trillion carats of diamonds. 00:19:51.02\00:19:56.12 Our precious Savior trod weary the sandy trails of old 00:19:56.16\00:20:00.03 Palestine that we might walk with tireless feet on the golden 00:20:00.06\00:20:03.67 streets of the New Jerusalem. You see, the Bible says the New 00:20:03.73\00:20:07.07 Jerusalem has streets of gold, gates of pearl. No problem for 00:20:07.14\00:20:11.21 the Lord. We see that he has stars which we would consider 00:20:11.24\00:20:18.01 fantastically valuable. In Ephesians 1 verse 9 it says 00:20:18.05\00:20:22.95 In him we have redemption through his blood for the 00:20:22.98\00:20:27.02 forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of 00:20:27.06\00:20:31.06 his grace. So one of his attributes is his riches in 00:20:31.09\00:20:35.06 grace, but he's also rich in mercy and kindness and tolerance 00:20:35.10\00:20:41.80 We ought to go to the farthest galaxy that we have. This, they 00:20:41.84\00:20:48.48 tell us would be about 13 billion, where the little arrow 00:20:48.51\00:20:51.41 is. They believe this would be in the very edge of the universe 00:20:51.45\00:20:56.65 13.7 billion light years away. A light year is about 6 trillion 00:20:56.69\00:21:02.19 miles. About 13 billion light years away. When I see that last 00:21:02.22\00:21:06.36 galaxy I go back to Psalms. I think of what it says in Psalm 00:21:06.39\00:21:11.13 103 starting with verse 10: and it says that God doesn't deal 00:21:11.17\00:21:14.74 with us after our sin. Are you thankful the Lord doesn't deal 00:21:14.77\00:21:18.51 with us according to our sin nor reward us according to our 00:21:18.54\00:21:22.01 iniquity. We're thankful for that. God doesn't really give us 00:21:22.04\00:21:25.85 what we deserve does he, as long as we trust in him. What does 00:21:25.88\00:21:29.65 the Bible say for he doesn't reward us according to our 00:21:29.68\00:21:34.06 iniquity for as high as the heavens are above the earth 00:21:34.09\00:21:38.39 that's how great God's mercy is. Can you comprehend that last 00:21:38.43\00:21:42.96 last galaxy at 13.7 billion light years away. You can't 00:21:43.00\00:21:46.07 comprehend that. Can you comprehend a billion, can you 00:21:46.10\00:21:49.10 comprehend a light year, six trillion miles. You see we can't 00:21:49.17\00:21:53.81 comprehend how great God's mercy is. What's the next verse say? 00:21:53.84\00:21:58.48 As far as the east is from the west, that's how far he has 00:21:58.51\00:22:02.22 removed our transgressions from us. Can you comprehend how far 00:22:02.25\00:22:05.99 the east is from the west? It's incomprehensible. That's how far 00:22:06.05\00:22:10.79 he's removed our transgressions from us. Now folks there are 00:22:10.83\00:22:15.50 many people that's all they want to hear is grace. They just want 00:22:15.53\00:22:17.93 to hear grace. I mean you can drive right through the Bible 00:22:17.97\00:22:21.60 belt and you see the marquis. Most of them are grace, grace, 00:22:21.64\00:22:25.64 some form of grace, you see, all about grace. But the Bible does 00:22:25.67\00:22:29.24 have some instruction for us. The Bible does tell us straight 00:22:29.28\00:22:32.88 is the gate and narrow is the way and few there be that find 00:22:32.91\00:22:36.38 it. In America, you know, we're a Christian nation. Everybody 00:22:36.42\00:22:39.95 going to heaven. No everybody's not going to heaven. Everybody's 00:22:39.99\00:22:43.46 not going to heaven I want to tell you. The Bible says love 00:22:43.49\00:22:48.06 not the world. I have a real concern for Christians. I'm sure 00:22:48.10\00:22:52.07 we've got some viewers out there Christians who can't get through 00:22:52.10\00:22:56.00 the weekend without a Hollywood movie, a blockbuster movie. 00:22:56.04\00:23:00.21 Folks what would that mean - we have overcome the world. Love 00:23:00.24\00:23:05.48 not the world. What would be the things of the world? Hollywood? 00:23:05.51\00:23:10.72 Wouldn't that qualify? Materialism? What else would 00:23:10.75\00:23:16.46 qualify? Sports, they call them fans. What's the real word? 00:23:16.49\00:23:23.13 Fanatics. I think that if there may be some people that get so 00:23:23.16\00:23:28.10 involved with the world heaven would be a torture to them. So 00:23:28.14\00:23:31.87 we need a balance between law and grace. Our time is running 00:23:31.91\00:23:37.05 out but one of the attributes of God is... Well C.S. Lewis had 00:23:37.08\00:23:40.82 a problem as he was reading Psalms, praise the Lord, praise 00:23:40.85\00:23:43.92 the Lord. And C.S. Lewis is going why does God need all this 00:23:43.99\00:23:48.09 praise? Then he kept studying and he realized that praise 00:23:48.12\00:23:52.19 completes our enjoyment and the Bible tells us God inhabits our 00:23:52.23\00:23:56.26 praise. All enjoyment spontaneously overflows in 00:23:56.30\00:23:59.67 praise. Now this was an example. One morning I walked into the 00:23:59.73\00:24:03.81 shop. The shop foreman and I go in early usually. And not every 00:24:03.84\00:24:07.28 body was there, but the shop foreman was there. And he didn't 00:24:07.34\00:24:10.71 even say good morning. He said did you see the game last night? 00:24:10.75\00:24:14.48 Did you see the game? I had no idea what the game was all about 00:24:14.52\00:24:18.22 and I had no idea who was playing. And I realized that the 00:24:18.25\00:24:21.49 shop foreman was going to have to suffer for two hours because 00:24:21.52\00:24:25.06 his good friend the production manager gets in and these guys 00:24:25.09\00:24:28.20 know the game, they know the teams, they know their averages 00:24:28.23\00:24:31.17 they know their salary, they know everything about these 00:24:31.20\00:24:34.04 players and he was going to have to suffer for two hours because 00:24:34.07\00:24:36.77 he gets in about six and Tom gets in about eight. He's going 00:24:36.81\00:24:40.08 to have to suffer for two hours till Tom gets in so they can 00:24:40.11\00:24:44.35 relive this game and praise their team and go over the plays 00:24:44.38\00:24:47.52 you know. In fact, I was thinking the other day with the 00:24:47.58\00:24:51.22 super bowl, Denver was in the super bowl and I thought what 00:24:51.25\00:24:54.29 did it cost me the next day because everybody was talking? 00:24:54.32\00:24:58.09 about the super bowl and not working. So the Bible tells us 00:24:58.13\00:25:02.26 God inhabits our praise. As I thought about this shop foreman 00:25:02.30\00:25:06.33 who had to wait two hours so he could have the joy of reliving 00:25:06.37\00:25:10.41 the game and sharing the game, I was thinking, do we praise the 00:25:10.44\00:25:14.48 Lord? Because C.S. Lewis says all enjoyment spontaneously 00:25:14.51\00:25:18.28 overflows in praise and God is enthroned in our praise. To say 00:25:18.31\00:25:24.15 that God inhabits our praise of his people is to say that his 00:25:24.19\00:25:28.92 presence is best felt when we praise him. O that men would 00:25:28.99\00:25:33.66 praise the Lord for his goodness and his wonderful works to the 00:25:33.70\00:25:38.93 children of men. Psalm 107. God tells us 36 times to rejoice in 00:25:38.97\00:25:44.21 the Lord. So our joy is consummated in praising the Lord 00:25:44.24\00:25:52.28 So my appeal to you as we wind down this program again, I hope 00:25:52.31\00:25:57.15 you'll join us next time when we come back with Heaven's Declare. 00:25:57.19\00:26:01.89 But seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he 00:26:01.92\00:26:06.59 is near, let the wicked man forsake his way and the 00:26:06.63\00:26:09.86 unrighteous man his thoughts. Friend if you are involved in 00:26:09.90\00:26:14.00 the world, I plead with you love not the world. Spend your 00:26:14.04\00:26:17.57 time in the word of God. How much time do you spend in the 00:26:17.61\00:26:20.58 world, the music of the world, videos of the world, Hollywood, 00:26:20.61\00:26:25.08 you know, movies. Folks if you are a Christian, you believe in 00:26:25.11\00:26:28.88 God but you're so involved in the world, you will not enjoy 00:26:28.92\00:26:32.15 heaven because we have talked about the holiness of heaven and 00:26:32.19\00:26:36.02 if you are careless with God's name. A lady I know, she's a 00:26:36.06\00:26:39.79 praying, wonderful praying lady but everything that surprises 00:26:39.83\00:26:44.07 her, it's oh my... and she uses God's name in vain. And you see 00:26:44.10\00:26:48.27 the Lord will not hold her guiltless. We need to overcome 00:26:48.30\00:26:52.14 the world. The Bible says love not the world because this world 00:26:52.17\00:26:56.44 might just get you out of heaven even though you may be a 00:26:56.48\00:27:00.38 believer you would not enjoy heaven if you love the world. 00:27:00.42\00:27:04.25 So we'll see you again next time on Heaven's Declare. 00:27:04.29\00:27:08.92
