person like a father and mother

late and deny themselves sleep.

So that they can
take care of a sick child.

Love can motivate a lover
to give up energy and time

and even money for
the sake of a beloved.

But we're not
talking about human love,

we're talking
about the love of God,

the love of Jesus.

And Paul says,
it's the love of Jesus,

the love of Christ
that constraineth us.

It's the love of

When we focus on the cross

was a time last year

where I was in a
really rough spot spiritually

having my devotions faithfully

and praying everyday
but it was more just because

I wanted to go to
heaven than anything else.

And actually had kind of
a lot of anger towards God.

I'd heard people say that
Jesus and--God sends us trials

to bring us closer to Him.

Which is true,
it's true in a sense but

Satan kind of used that
and I started thinking that

God made the bad things happen,

to try to bring
us closer to Him.

And so that just made me angry

and I didn't really
make a place in my heart

to really love God.

And I, you know,
when we don't make

God our first love we
normally turn to people,

you know, our
friends, or guys, or girls,

whatever and, you
know, that's what I did.

But eventually I came
to the place where I knew,

I needed a God,
give God a chance,

a real chance to
experience His love myself.

And to just distance
myself and certain people.

And, my sister
really encouraged me

to read this book called
"An Endless Falling in Love"

by Ty Gibson, and
so I started reading

and there was one chapter that,

that's totally
blew my mind away.
00:10:31.78\00:10:35.14
It was talking
about the risks God took

in sending Jesus to die for us.

And they were really real risks,

say some people can't
understand the idea that

a sovereign God could have
the possibility of failing.

But that's what Jesus faced,

there was a
very real possibility

that Jesus could sin
and the plan of salvation

wouldn't work out.

And He was willing to
take that risk for me.

And I just, the author
brought out the point of

what would have
happened if Jesus had sinned,

like the whole universe would
have been thrown into chaos.

And we would
have ceased to exist

and who knows what would have
happened to God's authority.

But Jesus soul
came for me anyway.

And even though He did that,

He wouldn't force me
to accept that gifts.

That's right, and
because true love doesn't force.

In the Christian walk,
sometimes we're doing things

tough, difficult jobs.

I know working out in the sun
or summer, is a difficult job.

Yeah, when I first
came to Fountainview,

it was the summer
before my first man year

and I never had a job before.

And my first job I
had to do was weeding out

in the carrot field
for eight hours a day,

in the hot Sun, it was
boring and it was uncomfortable

and I complained a lot, becuase

like I didn't want
to do it and it was,

you know, it
wasn't the glamorous--

Not a glamorous job, no.

Yeah, it wasn't
that wonderful a job.

But, been working over the years

after the end of four years,

every summer and
learned a little bit about

like just doing it
because it needs to be done.

thinking about doing my work

as if I was doing it unto God.

And I was thinking
like the love of Christ,

it cast out the selfishness.

Like if I realize
that God is my boss, yeah

you know, like if I'm doing
my work as if God is my boss.

And then I
realize His love for me,

like how can I be selfish
and complain. absoulutely.

people who are hungering

more than this world can offer.

They're reaching for
the standard that this world

offers a fame and

lives have brightened up

Well, I wanted to come
into Fountainview my junior year

and I applied because I
wanted to kind of get away

from the negative
influences of my old school.

And so I applied
for my junior year,

but due to some situations

I wasn't able to
come my junior year.

really understand why?

When I look back I
understand that God had me

at my old school for a
purpose and by keeping me there

He grew parts of my character

able to be developed.

And while I was
there about like December,

God was really impressing
my heart again to apply.

And, so I applied,
and then the summer came

and I really haven't heard much,

if I was
accepted or not accepted.

And so I went to go
sell Christian books,

not knowing where I was
gonna go the next school year.

And I got a phone
call about five weeks in

and it was from
Fountainview saying that a girl

in the senior class was
debating whether to come back,

or she's gonna go to
Oakland Community College.

And so if she didn't
come back I would be coming

and so I was like whoa! So
I was just praying that God,

God would lead me
where He wanted me to go.

And I knew, you know,
that if I got accepted

that's where He
wanted me or so I thought.

And I told my parents
that this was happening

and they kind of
like faked excited,

because they don't want
their little girl to leave home

you know, and I
waited that whole week

and I was just
praying for God's will

to be done, you know.

And was praying that I wanna
go where He wanted me to go.

And then a week later I
got a phone saying that,

I've been accepted.

And as soon as I
found that I got accepted.

I was like, wait, maybe God

wants me to stay
in my old school.

I just really didn't know.

And there is a paragraph
in Help in Daily Living,

that says, "There is a

And that's kind of how I felt.

You know, like, I didn't know,

I didn't know if God
wanted me to go to my old school

where I knew it
was gonna be hard work,

you know, like the plow.

Or if He wanted me
to go to Fountainview

where it's gonna cause
lot of sacrifice on my part,

and also my
parents more importantly,

you know, financially, and
just letting their child leave,

youngest in the family.

And about a week
after I got accepted

I talked to my
parents on the phone.

And we ended up meeting up

a couple of days later
and we talked in person.

I had a really good
conversion and they just shared

how God had been
showing them and giving them

complete peace

where they--where God wanted me.

And where they thought
that I would grow the most.

And so I was praising God
because He gave my parents

and also financially

He provided some
donations and stuff.

And ever since I'd been
here, there's been sacrifice

but God's always provided.

And I know this isn't
exactly where duty called,
