Hello, friends, grab your Bible and a friend and sit back 00:00:01.40\00:00:03.59 as we explore God's word together 00:00:03.62\00:00:05.78 on this edition of House Calls. 00:00:05.81\00:00:08.48 Hello, friends, welcome to House Calls, 00:00:22.72\00:00:24.38 a very special edition. 00:00:24.41\00:00:25.93 We call this the sharing edition. 00:00:25.96\00:00:28.00 My name is John Lomacang 00:00:28.03\00:00:29.40 and to my right is my good friend John Stanton. 00:00:29.43\00:00:31.00 Good to have you here, John. It's good to be here, John, 00:00:31.03\00:00:32.69 looking forward to the program today. 00:00:32.72\00:00:34.21 I tell you this is a special edition 00:00:34.24\00:00:35.66 that we want to call to the attention 00:00:35.69\00:00:37.06 of our viewers and our listeners 00:00:37.09\00:00:38.46 because so much has been said about the Sabbath 00:00:38.49\00:00:43.44 and about the condition of man in death. 00:00:43.47\00:00:46.40 What happens when a person dies? 00:00:46.43\00:00:47.96 And we're gonna dedicate this program, 00:00:47.99\00:00:51.62 another program, two programs one hour each, 00:00:51.65\00:00:54.85 on describing every thing as much as we can cover 00:00:54.88\00:00:58.78 about what the Bible says about the Bible Sabbath, 00:00:58.81\00:01:00.72 from creation to our very day today. 00:01:00.75\00:01:03.80 And we wanna encourage those of you listening 00:01:03.83\00:01:05.89 and watching this program to get a copy of this. 00:01:05.92\00:01:07.65 We call this the sharing edition. 00:01:07.68\00:01:09.76 And if we can give another title to it, 00:01:09.79\00:01:12.74 we would call it the two great errors, e-r-r-o-r-s. 00:01:12.77\00:01:17.61 And so this would be like the error number one explained. 00:01:17.64\00:01:21.50 Which is the two parts. 00:01:21.53\00:01:23.13 Part one and two an hour each. That's right. 00:01:23.16\00:01:25.32 And then in the next two programs 00:01:25.35\00:01:26.72 after that what are we gonna cover? 00:01:26.75\00:01:28.12 We're gonna cover what the Bible teaches about the nature of man. 00:01:28.15\00:01:32.35 Man is not naturally immortal. 00:01:32.38\00:01:35.14 Man doesn't depart to heaven or hell immediately at death. 00:01:35.17\00:01:39.04 There is no existing soul that survives the body. 00:01:39.07\00:01:43.17 These two great errors are the two teachings 00:01:43.20\00:01:45.94 that have taken hold and so much of Christianity 00:01:45.97\00:01:48.83 that the Bible is almost left out 00:01:48.86\00:01:50.34 as to what it has to say about it. 00:01:50.37\00:01:51.93 So we want to dedicate this program, 00:01:51.96\00:01:53.90 the next program and two special programs 00:01:53.93\00:01:56.65 on the two great errors 00:01:56.68\00:01:58.05 and we encourage you to get a copy of it 00:01:58.08\00:02:00.15 and also share with your friends. 00:02:00.18\00:02:02.07 So we're not gonna be doing questions today. 00:02:02.10\00:02:03.96 We want to make this time is proficiently used, 00:02:03.99\00:02:07.34 efficiently used as we possibly can. 00:02:07.37\00:02:09.77 And so, John, why don't you open with a word of prayer for us? 00:02:09.80\00:02:13.15 Let's do that. 00:02:13.18\00:02:14.55 Our Father in Heaven, we are so thankful 00:02:14.58\00:02:16.28 for an opportunity here to come together 00:02:16.31\00:02:19.28 and to study your word. 00:02:19.31\00:02:20.68 And, Lord, especially on a couple of topics here 00:02:20.71\00:02:23.53 beginning with the Sabbath, 00:02:23.56\00:02:24.93 on something we know that is very important 00:02:24.96\00:02:28.40 and very confusing to many today. 00:02:28.43\00:02:31.45 And so we just ask for Your blessing for Your Holy Spirit 00:02:31.48\00:02:34.18 for his leading and his guiding as we open Your word, 00:02:34.21\00:02:37.86 as we cruise through its pages as we seek Your truth, 00:02:37.89\00:02:41.60 Lord, may your will be done and may You be glorified. 00:02:41.63\00:02:44.81 We pray in Jesus name, amen. Amen. 00:02:44.84\00:02:48.68 Well, John, there is a-- there is a particular text 00:02:48.71\00:02:51.78 and I encourage our viewers to get their Bibles 00:02:51.81\00:02:54.22 because we want you to walk through the Bible 00:02:54.25\00:02:56.82 with us as we unfold this topic. 00:02:56.85\00:02:58.97 I want to begin with a verse 00:02:59.00\00:03:00.66 that I believe is what I call the clarion call. 00:03:00.69\00:03:03.89 If God would ever say to His people, 00:03:03.92\00:03:07.00 I need you to restore, to rebuild, to return, 00:03:07.03\00:03:12.63 this text would be the text Isaiah 58. 00:03:12.66\00:03:15.54 We are going to look at verse 12 very quickly 00:03:15.57\00:03:18.37 and we have various translations. 00:03:18.40\00:03:19.96 I'm gonna read this in the King James Version 00:03:19.99\00:03:22.23 and I have a New King James Bible 00:03:22.26\00:03:25.12 but the way that this says it, is so clear and so concise. 00:03:25.15\00:03:30.58 I want to begin with that text, Isaiah 58, verse 12 00:03:30.61\00:03:33.84 and the Lord speaks about His people this way 00:03:33.87\00:03:35.72 "And they that shall be of thee 00:03:35.75\00:03:37.99 shall build up--shall build the old waste places, 00:03:38.02\00:03:42.63 thou shall raise up the foundations 00:03:42.66\00:03:44.79 of many generations, and thou shall be called 00:03:44.82\00:03:48.27 the repairers of the breach, 00:03:48.30\00:03:50.30 the restorers of paths to dwell in." 00:03:50.33\00:03:53.49 And so when we you talk about--when we talk 00:03:53.52\00:03:55.13 about the Sabbath truth and the Bible Sabbath, 00:03:55.16\00:03:58.39 and I want to say the Bible Sabbath because it's been given, 00:03:58.42\00:04:01.17 you know, the Christian Sabbath, the Jewish Sabbath, 00:04:01.20\00:04:03.99 but I want to say the Bible Sabbath. 00:04:04.02\00:04:06.41 Because the Lord didn't assign the Sabbath 00:04:06.44\00:04:09.43 to any one particular race on the earth, 00:04:09.46\00:04:11.97 that's the thing that's often taught. 00:04:12.00\00:04:13.90 And so as we speak about this, 00:04:13.93\00:04:15.48 we're gonna begin at the beginning. 00:04:15.51\00:04:17.52 And the place to begin at the beginning 00:04:17.55\00:04:19.10 would be in the Book of Genesis. 00:04:19.13\00:04:22.28 So let's go to the Book of Genesis today and obviously-- 00:04:22.31\00:04:24.60 I like the text, John 00:04:24.63\00:04:26.02 Not to speak over you there-- Sure. 00:04:26.05\00:04:27.42 But I like the text you're bringing up. 00:04:27.45\00:04:28.82 Just to clarify, this building up of the old waste places, 00:04:28.85\00:04:31.83 clearly the truth of God has been torn down to a degree. 00:04:31.86\00:04:35.30 We find in especially Daniel Chapter 8 as the prophecies 00:04:35.33\00:04:40.02 from just after Daniel's day down to the end of time 00:04:40.05\00:04:43.29 clearly spell out that the truth will be cast down to the ground. 00:04:43.32\00:04:46.74 That is right. 00:04:46.77\00:04:48.14 That this is the antithesis prophecy. 00:04:48.17\00:04:49.83 This is the repairing prophecy. 00:04:49.86\00:04:51.54 This is restoring of what is being 00:04:51.57\00:04:54.15 broken down in the last days. 00:04:54.18\00:04:56.88 So if we say we are living in the last days 00:04:56.91\00:04:58.69 and most of us, it's hard 00:04:58.72\00:05:00.13 to deny that we are. That's right. 00:05:00.16\00:05:01.53 Although we, you know, somehow 00:05:01.56\00:05:03.65 that we're gonna go on for hundreds of more years, 00:05:03.68\00:05:06.66 the world just won't last that much longer. 00:05:06.69\00:05:09.05 And if we don't deny that we are in the time of repair. 00:05:09.08\00:05:12.96 The repairs of old teachings 00:05:12.99\00:05:15.91 that God established from long ago, 00:05:15.94\00:05:17.83 that have been distorted through time, 00:05:17.86\00:05:19.24 the enemy has done his number on 00:05:19.27\00:05:21.36 and this message therefore is very pertinent to today 00:05:21.39\00:05:25.06 as we believe that the Sabbath 00:05:25.09\00:05:26.50 is part of the repairing of those truths 00:05:26.53\00:05:29.25 that were established from long ago way back in Genesis. 00:05:29.28\00:05:32.66 That's right and I'm glad you brought that out 00:05:32.69\00:05:34.40 because so often, people think, 00:05:34.43\00:05:36.82 well, what difference does it make? 00:05:36.85\00:05:38.22 Well, if you took 6,000 years to bend something 00:05:38.25\00:05:41.84 and you did it gradually, 00:05:41.87\00:05:43.99 then it wouldn't appear to be that big of a deal 00:05:44.02\00:05:46.21 because people that are living today 00:05:46.24\00:05:48.66 would have only seen it bent. 00:05:48.69\00:05:50.49 They would not have seen it when it was straight. 00:05:50.52\00:05:52.90 And there was a point in time 00:05:52.93\00:05:54.30 when the message about the Sabbath was very straight. 00:05:54.33\00:05:56.18 It was very, very clear. There were no bending points. 00:05:56.21\00:05:59.17 There was no distortion in that but over the course of time, 00:05:59.20\00:06:02.28 the enemy of God, Satan himself, 00:06:02.31\00:06:05.02 he took that truth and bent it so much so until today, 00:06:05.05\00:06:10.68 when you mention the word Sabbath, 00:06:10.71\00:06:12.44 it is seen from so many angles that God never intended 00:06:12.47\00:06:15.90 for it to be seen from, that 00:06:15.93\00:06:17.68 is just explained over as it's just a day. 00:06:17.71\00:06:20.32 And it's far greater than just another day. 00:06:20.35\00:06:23.89 And if we look at the other nine commandments, 00:06:23.92\00:06:25.89 we would not just say, well, it's just about God's name, 00:06:25.92\00:06:28.05 what's the big deal? 00:06:28.08\00:06:29.45 Well, it's just about idols, what's the big deal? 00:06:29.48\00:06:31.63 Well, it's just about our parents, 00:06:31.66\00:06:33.03 I mean, honor them, not honor them, what's the big deal? 00:06:33.06\00:06:35.36 We will never say that about any of the commandments. 00:06:35.39\00:06:38.82 However, the only one that begins with the word remember, 00:06:38.85\00:06:44.21 is the one that religious leaders today are saying 00:06:44.24\00:06:46.80 forget about it. I'm using my-- 00:06:46.83\00:06:48.96 It doesn't matter It doesn't matter. 00:06:48.99\00:06:50.77 You just pick a day, really doesn't matter 00:06:50.80\00:06:53.35 what day it is as long as you love the Lord. 00:06:53.38\00:06:55.92 Well, I've been married 29 years. 00:06:55.95\00:06:57.41 I can't just say to my wife, 00:06:57.44\00:06:58.81 forget about May 22nd, as long as we pick a day. Right. 00:06:58.84\00:07:02.13 You know, it doesn't matter-- 00:07:02.16\00:07:03.53 it matters when your bills are paid on time. 00:07:03.56\00:07:06.01 The people that we owe don't say just pick a day, 00:07:06.04\00:07:08.74 they schedule these days. 00:07:08.77\00:07:10.36 We don't say what day is Washington's Birthday? 00:07:10.39\00:07:12.52 Just pick a day. 00:07:12.55\00:07:13.92 Well, let's change Christmas, 00:07:13.95\00:07:15.32 we'll just pick a day. 00:07:15.35\00:07:16.72 It doesn't fit in any other vernacular of life. 00:07:16.75\00:07:19.66 Especially when we're talking about the Ten Commandments-- 00:07:19.69\00:07:21.85 Right. They almost are becoming suggestions. Right. 00:07:21.88\00:07:24.91 You know, someone-- I've been asked 00:07:24.94\00:07:26.88 several times in regard to this. 00:07:26.91\00:07:29.35 "Well, what are you saying? Are you saying 00:07:29.38\00:07:30.75 you have to keep the Sabbath to be saved?" 00:07:30.78\00:07:32.24 I mean, they want to cut to the chase. 00:07:32.27\00:07:33.94 Is that what you're saying? Yes. 00:07:33.97\00:07:35.65 My response though is whatever answer you give 00:07:35.68\00:07:41.36 to any of the other nine, give to the fourth. Right. 00:07:41.39\00:07:45.17 I respond with a question of sorts, consider this, 00:07:45.20\00:07:48.84 whatever you say in regard of the other nine, 00:07:48.87\00:07:50.86 do I have to start murdering? 00:07:50.89\00:07:52.86 Do I have to start stealing? 00:07:52.89\00:07:54.55 Do I have to start bowing down the idols? 00:07:54.58\00:07:56.87 Do I have to stop-- can I stop honoring 00:07:56.90\00:07:59.55 my father and my mother? 00:07:59.58\00:08:01.00 Can I start coveting? Does that matter? 00:08:01.03\00:08:03.44 Well, they would say repeatedly, 00:08:03.47\00:08:04.95 no, you shouldn't that, no, no, you shouldn't that, 00:08:04.98\00:08:07.06 I mean, God won't let murderers 00:08:07.09\00:08:08.88 and those that continue to steal and all these things, 00:08:08.91\00:08:11.32 let in to the Kingdom or what about those that continue to 00:08:11.35\00:08:13.57 dishonor His Holy day? Right. 00:08:13.60\00:08:16.78 Well, it doesn't matter. That's what the world is saying. 00:08:16.81\00:08:19.70 That's what preachers are saying today 00:08:19.73\00:08:21.32 which we believe constitutes a great error. That's right. 00:08:21.35\00:08:25.87 And that's why we're talking about it 00:08:25.90\00:08:27.27 as the first great error. 00:08:27.30\00:08:28.82 And also as we read this text in Genesis Chapter 2, 00:08:28.85\00:08:31.97 the context of this text is the end of creation week. 00:08:32.00\00:08:35.13 And what we want also be as sensitive in this sense, 00:08:35.16\00:08:37.99 we know, that many of you watching the program 00:08:38.02\00:08:39.79 and listening and I must even expand that many preachers 00:08:39.82\00:08:44.33 whether they are just beginning in the ministry 00:08:44.36\00:08:46.66 and I have heard preachers with doctorate degrees 00:08:46.69\00:08:48.46 and PhDs, and many letters before and after their name, 00:08:48.49\00:08:52.10 say the very same thing in reference 00:08:52.13\00:08:54.34 to the change of the Sabbath. 00:08:54.37\00:08:56.16 To the Jews, it's no longer important to 00:08:56.19\00:08:58.54 pick a day. It's now the first day of the week 00:08:58.57\00:09:00.34 most of the Christians say. 00:09:00.37\00:09:01.74 They've said so many things 00:09:01.77\00:09:03.14 that are not supported by the scriptures, 00:09:03.17\00:09:04.56 that it really amazes me that with all this learning 00:09:04.59\00:09:09.16 that there's a great big hole of ignorance 00:09:09.19\00:09:12.32 as it relates to the truth 00:09:12.35\00:09:14.16 about what God setup from the very beginning. 00:09:14.19\00:09:16.62 And they are not answering the biblical reasoning 00:09:16.65\00:09:20.15 and questioning in regard to the Sabbath. Right. 00:09:20.18\00:09:22.51 They're not answering that. 00:09:22.54\00:09:23.91 They are spending time rationalizing 00:09:23.94\00:09:25.98 as to why it doesn't matter. Right. 00:09:26.01\00:09:27.77 But we've not heard specific responses. 00:09:27.80\00:09:30.71 And, John, you and I have been doing this program 00:09:30.74\00:09:32.11 for 7 years, going on 8. Right. 00:09:32.14\00:09:35.01 We've not heard a direct response from anybody 00:09:35.04\00:09:38.31 in regard to the questions 00:09:38.34\00:09:39.71 the Bible raises in regard to the Sabbath. That's right. 00:09:39.74\00:09:41.90 We keep hearing the same thing over and over again. 00:09:41.93\00:09:44.57 The use of Romans 14, the use of Colossians 2. 00:09:44.60\00:09:48.26 Acts 20 verse 7 Acts 20-- 00:09:48.29\00:09:50.07 all these-- First Corinthians 16. 00:09:50.10\00:09:51.82 It's like a tape recorder. 00:09:51.85\00:09:54.27 No one's responding to the questions 00:09:54.30\00:09:56.86 we're raising and the Bible raises 00:09:56.89\00:09:58.91 elsewhere in regard to the Sabbath. 00:09:58.94\00:10:00.31 Right. And the other thing, John, 00:10:00.34\00:10:01.71 as you'll discover that people say, 00:10:01.74\00:10:03.11 well, the New Testament now, 00:10:03.14\00:10:04.51 the New Testament Christian doesn't have to honor 00:10:04.54\00:10:05.91 the Bible Sabbath because it was just for the Jews. 00:10:05.94\00:10:08.29 And they say, well, the New Testament 00:10:08.32\00:10:09.69 doesn't talk very much about the Sabbath. 00:10:09.72\00:10:11.09 Well, I beg to differ. 00:10:11.12\00:10:13.07 If you put the word Sabbath in the Bible, 00:10:13.10\00:10:15.75 if you just did a search in the New Testament, 00:10:15.78\00:10:17.39 it's mentioned 60 times. 00:10:17.42\00:10:19.80 If you put the phrase first day it's only mentioned 12 00:10:19.83\00:10:22.76 and 8 of those references have to do 00:10:22.79\00:10:24.38 with the resurrection and the crucifixion. 00:10:24.41\00:10:26.78 Not a day of worship. 00:10:26.81\00:10:28.18 You have only four attempts and these same four attempts, 00:10:28.21\00:10:31.65 Revelation 1:10, "In the Spirit on the Lord's day," 00:10:31.68\00:10:35.55 they say, well, that's the new day 00:10:35.58\00:10:36.95 of worship that is not the truth. 00:10:36.98\00:10:38.55 Acts 20:7, "Breaking bread on the first day of the week." 00:10:38.58\00:10:40.79 They broke bread every day, that's not the change. 00:10:40.82\00:10:43.20 1 Corinthians 16:1, "The collection of offering," 00:10:43.23\00:10:46.38 it was not a collection of offering in a church. 00:10:46.41\00:10:49.10 It was like Salvation Army. 00:10:49.13\00:10:50.50 We're gonna talk about that, what that actually meant. 00:10:50.53\00:10:51.90 Was the setting aside for future giving. 00:10:51.93\00:10:53.63 Right, and then the last one simply meant 00:10:53.66\00:10:55.66 from the first day until now, 00:10:55.69\00:10:57.14 so that had no reference at all to Sabbath or a church meeting. 00:10:57.17\00:11:01.11 Simply Paul saying since I got to this city 00:11:01.14\00:11:03.80 from the first day until now. 00:11:03.83\00:11:05.47 So you only have three actual examples 00:11:05.50\00:11:07.39 in the New Testament that could be possibly a twist 00:11:07.42\00:11:10.56 to give a new day of worship 00:11:10.59\00:11:12.03 but none of those give any viable evidence 00:11:12.06\00:11:14.77 that man by his actions or lack thereof could change 00:11:14.80\00:11:18.58 what God has established. 00:11:18.61\00:11:19.98 You know, even if they were to establish 00:11:20.01\00:11:21.56 that Sunday was a day 00:11:21.59\00:11:23.90 that there was a congregation and a meeting--right. 00:11:23.93\00:11:26.04 They're missing the most glaring and obvious argument 00:11:26.07\00:11:28.77 for the Sabbath in the Book of Acts. Right. 00:11:28.80\00:11:30.61 The simple fact the Sabbath is called the Sabbath 00:11:30.64\00:11:34.44 and the first day of the week is called 00:11:34.47\00:11:35.84 the first day of the week. Right. 00:11:35.87\00:11:37.24 By the fact you can't call 00:11:37.27\00:11:38.64 the first day of the week the Sabbath 00:11:38.67\00:11:40.04 because elsewhere in Acts it's called the Sabbath. 00:11:40.07\00:11:41.44 That's right. They are two different days. That's right. 00:11:41.47\00:11:43.32 So you cannot argue that in Acts, 00:11:43.35\00:11:46.80 they worshipped on the first day of the week. 00:11:46.83\00:11:48.77 They did not because that was called 00:11:48.80\00:11:50.17 the first day of the week where other things were happening, 00:11:50.20\00:11:51.77 the Sabbath was when they got together. 00:11:51.80\00:11:53.33 They are two different days. 00:11:53.36\00:11:54.73 That's right and it's mentioned over and over 00:11:54.76\00:11:56.13 in the Book of Acts. 00:11:56.16\00:11:57.53 Acts talks about the Sabbath many, many, many times 00:11:57.56\00:11:59.63 in reference to the Jews, the Gentiles and the Greeks, 00:11:59.66\00:12:02.98 honoring that particular day. 00:12:03.01\00:12:04.38 If you're wondering why we are a bit passionate about this 00:12:04.41\00:12:06.59 and we're gonna be passionate about this throughout. 00:12:06.62\00:12:08.50 It is that we have come to a point 00:12:08.53\00:12:11.11 where we are tired not of people opposing something we believe, 00:12:11.14\00:12:16.98 we're tired of people being deceived about the Sabbath. 00:12:17.01\00:12:20.16 This is the issue and so we are hoping 00:12:20.19\00:12:23.08 even these programs get into enhances some pastors. Right. 00:12:23.11\00:12:25.76 You want to hear it from other-- from Sunday pastors, 00:12:25.79\00:12:27.83 we would like to get together 00:12:27.86\00:12:29.31 from some Sunday pastors and-- Discuss it. 00:12:29.34\00:12:30.71 Talk about these things because this study 00:12:30.74\00:12:34.15 is not been done justice 00:12:34.18\00:12:35.55 throughout the Christian community, 00:12:35.58\00:12:36.95 which is why it remains, we believe, a great error. 00:12:36.98\00:12:39.10 That's right, exactly. 00:12:39.13\00:12:40.50 So let's go and begin at the beginning. 00:12:40.53\00:12:42.93 Let's begin when everything else was made. 00:12:42.96\00:12:45.84 Genesis Chapter 2 caps off the creation week 00:12:45.87\00:12:49.10 and we do believe we are creationists. 00:12:49.13\00:12:51.32 In other words, we believe 00:12:51.35\00:12:52.72 that God created the heavens and the earth. 00:12:52.75\00:12:54.71 We believe that in the beginning Christ was there, 00:12:54.74\00:12:57.22 the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were there. 00:12:57.25\00:12:59.87 And you read Genesis Chapter 1:1, 00:12:59.90\00:13:01.98 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." 00:13:02.01\00:13:05.61 And the Bible reason Genesis Chapter 1 and verse 2, 00:13:05.64\00:13:07.66 read that for us, you have that there very quickly. 00:13:07.69\00:13:10.25 Genesis 1, verse 2. 00:13:10.28\00:13:11.65 Look at Genesis 1 verse 1 and 2, just very quickly. 00:13:11.68\00:13:13.60 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 00:13:13.63\00:13:16.35 The earth was without form and void 00:13:16.38\00:13:18.89 and darkness was on the face of the deep 00:13:18.92\00:13:21.26 and the spirit of God was hovering 00:13:21.29\00:13:22.93 over the face of the water." 00:13:22.96\00:13:24.33 So you find there in the beginning God created, 00:13:24.36\00:13:27.10 Genesis 1 verse 1 and 2, the Spirit was there, 00:13:27.13\00:13:30.55 John Chapter 1:2, in the beginning 00:13:30.58\00:13:32.34 was the word. Jesus was there, 00:13:32.37\00:13:34.51 the Godhead was there at the very inception of creation 00:13:34.54\00:13:38.92 and it took only 6 literal days. 00:13:38.95\00:13:41.28 The evening and the morning were the first day. 00:13:41.31\00:13:44.29 We have to establish that 00:13:44.32\00:13:45.72 because there're some communities that say-- 00:13:45.75\00:13:47.29 some faith communities say 00:13:47.32\00:13:49.15 that the creation was 6,000 years long. 00:13:49.18\00:13:52.31 There are some faiths that believe that, 00:13:52.34\00:13:54.25 well, it couldn't have been a literal day 00:13:54.28\00:13:56.20 because how can you do all this in a literal day? 00:13:56.23\00:13:58.60 Well, we're not talking about a construction company, 00:13:58.63\00:14:00.83 we're talking about God, 00:14:00.86\00:14:02.53 okay, that's the difference here. So God-- 00:14:02.56\00:14:04.65 He planted the stars in the heavens 00:14:04.68\00:14:06.19 and they stood fast. They appeared 00:14:06.22\00:14:08.26 and they were fixed in place. 00:14:08.29\00:14:10.02 He spake and it was done. 00:14:10.05\00:14:11.42 He commanded and it stood fast. 00:14:11.45\00:14:13.00 Let there be and there was. 00:14:13.03\00:14:14.84 So now Genesis 2 verse 1 comes 00:14:14.87\00:14:16.65 to the end of creation week 00:14:16.68\00:14:18.05 and what I want you to get as we read this text, 00:14:18.08\00:14:20.69 it took 6 days to create the world. 00:14:20.72\00:14:23.58 It took 6 days to create the world. 00:14:23.61\00:14:25.31 How many days do we have in a week? 00:14:25.34\00:14:27.01 We have 7 days in a week. 00:14:27.04\00:14:28.41 But it only took 6 to create the world. 00:14:28.44\00:14:31.00 So the natural question we have to ask 00:14:31.03\00:14:32.87 at the very beginning why then 7 00:14:32.90\00:14:38.25 when it only took 6 to create? 00:14:38.28\00:14:40.37 Why 7 when it only took 6? All right? 00:14:40.40\00:14:43.56 John, do that backward, you look in the camera. 00:14:43.59\00:14:45.50 Six creation days, we've got seven. 00:14:45.53\00:14:48.19 So what's this extra one all about? 00:14:48.22\00:14:50.39 Why give a seventh one when nothing physical 00:14:50.42\00:14:54.33 was created on that day. 00:14:54.36\00:14:55.73 You cannot look around and point to anything on this earth 00:14:55.76\00:14:58.38 created on the seventh day of the week 00:14:58.41\00:15:00.46 but something was created. 00:15:00.49\00:15:02.45 Genesis Chapter 2 verse 1 to 3. 00:15:02.48\00:15:04.58 You read that since I've been talking a lot. 00:15:04.61\00:15:06.79 "Thus the heavens and the earth 00:15:06.82\00:15:08.34 and all the host of them were finished. 00:15:08.37\00:15:11.15 And on the seventh day, God ended His work 00:15:11.18\00:15:13.38 which He had done and He rested on the seventh day 00:15:13.41\00:15:16.11 from all His work which He had done, 00:15:16.14\00:15:18.46 then God blessed the seventh day 00:15:18.49\00:15:20.18 and sanctified it because in it He rested from His work 00:15:20.21\00:15:23.63 which God had created and made." 00:15:23.66\00:15:25.92 Right, He rested from all His work. 00:15:25.95\00:15:27.59 So look at the three things, first of all, it says 00:15:27.62\00:15:30.98 the heavens and the earth were finished. 00:15:31.01\00:15:32.98 So there was need to do anything more 00:15:33.01\00:15:34.80 because it was finished and all the host of them, 00:15:34.83\00:15:38.59 they were finished. So by the time 00:15:38.62\00:15:40.28 Genesis 2 starts to be written, 00:15:40.31\00:15:43.15 the heavens and the earth were done. 00:15:43.18\00:15:44.80 There's no more work to be done 00:15:44.83\00:15:46.35 and you find at the end of creation, 00:15:46.38\00:15:49.00 He said indeed it was very good, 00:15:49.03\00:15:50.81 everything He had created was very good, 00:15:50.84\00:15:53.92 good job, no sin, no sorrow, 00:15:53.95\00:15:57.43 no fall of man, a perfect environment. 00:15:57.46\00:16:00.41 Then He does something in verse 2, 00:16:00.44\00:16:01.99 and on the seventh day God ended His work 00:16:02.02\00:16:06.20 which He had done and He rested on the seventh day 00:16:06.23\00:16:10.01 from all His work which He had done. 00:16:10.04\00:16:11.92 So now let's go--we're talking about God here. 00:16:11.95\00:16:14.66 Was God tired? 00:16:14.69\00:16:16.40 Because when we rest we usually do that 00:16:16.43\00:16:18.14 because we're what? Tired. 00:16:18.17\00:16:19.78 He was not tired. He was not tired. 00:16:19.81\00:16:21.94 When the Bible used the word rest here, 00:16:21.97\00:16:25.07 this word rest as it's used in the Book of Exodus, 00:16:25.10\00:16:28.49 as it's used throughout the Old and New Testament 00:16:28.52\00:16:30.68 is the word synonymous with rest day. 00:16:30.71\00:16:34.05 This is a rest that is synonymous 00:16:34.08\00:16:35.93 with not being tired but this is a spiritual rest. 00:16:35.96\00:16:40.02 You find in Hebrews Chapter 3, 00:16:40.05\00:16:41.91 one of the reasons why the Israelites 00:16:41.94\00:16:43.99 were in the wilderness so long 00:16:44.02\00:16:45.74 because they refused to enter into God's rest. 00:16:45.77\00:16:49.18 And one of the first things that He tested among, 00:16:49.21\00:16:51.20 we'll look at that in a moment was the Sabbath 00:16:51.23\00:16:53.46 when they came out of Egypt. 00:16:53.49\00:16:54.89 He tested them by feeding them every day 00:16:54.92\00:16:57.86 and He said on the sixth day, 00:16:57.89\00:16:59.57 get twice as much food. And when they chose 00:16:59.60\00:17:01.82 not to rest on the Sabbath, 00:17:01.85\00:17:03.97 He said to them how long do you refuse to keep my commandments, 00:17:04.00\00:17:06.70 my statues and my laws? 00:17:06.73\00:17:08.38 So this is not a physical rest alone 00:17:08.41\00:17:10.25 but this is a spiritual rest but something else He did. 00:17:10.28\00:17:12.62 Break it down, John, three things he did in verse 3. 00:17:12.65\00:17:16.40 It says He blessed the seventh day. That's the first thing. 00:17:16.43\00:17:19.86 Are any other days blessed? 00:17:19.89\00:17:21.63 No other days are blessed. Okay. 00:17:21.66\00:17:23.03 God specifically blessed this day. 00:17:23.06\00:17:24.43 He created the other 6 days 00:17:24.46\00:17:26.79 and then He stopped and then He blessed this day. 00:17:26.82\00:17:29.36 So let me ask you the question, can man bless another day? No. 00:17:29.39\00:17:33.92 So who is the only one that can bless the day? 00:17:33.95\00:17:35.67 God blessed. In fact, the Bible is clear 00:17:35.70\00:17:37.95 what God blesses is blessed forever. Exactly. 00:17:37.98\00:17:41.02 We cannot bless and let something 00:17:41.05\00:17:42.78 remain blessed forever. Right. 00:17:42.81\00:17:45.18 When God blesses, it's fixed. 00:17:45.21\00:17:47.81 That's right. So we can't reverse God's blessing? No. 00:17:47.84\00:17:50.91 What if I chose to do something on a different day and say, 00:17:50.94\00:17:53.02 "Well, I'd like this day instead." 00:17:53.05\00:17:54.65 Am I changing the blessing? No. 00:17:54.68\00:17:57.73 Okay. I just want to make that was clear. 00:17:57.76\00:17:59.13 What else did He do? 00:17:59.16\00:18:00.53 It says next that He sanctified it. 00:18:00.56\00:18:02.37 Okay. What does sanctifed mean? 00:18:02.40\00:18:04.39 He set it apart. That's right. 00:18:04.42\00:18:05.79 For specific purpose, for--to be used for resting in Him. 00:18:05.82\00:18:09.97 Okay and sanctified means some thing is set us aside as holy. 00:18:10.00\00:18:14.30 That's what sanctification is. 00:18:14.33\00:18:15.80 The marriage is sanctified, so therefore the marriage is holy. 00:18:15.83\00:18:19.73 The Sabbath is sanctified, therefore the Sabbath is holy. 00:18:19.76\00:18:22.24 Can we sanctify another day? No. 00:18:22.27\00:18:24.63 So what if I said I worship God every day. 00:18:24.66\00:18:26.94 Is that a good thing? Sure. 00:18:26.97\00:18:28.46 But is every day sanctified? No. 00:18:28.49\00:18:31.19 Okay. Is every day blessed? No. 00:18:31.22\00:18:33.40 So should we worship God every day? 00:18:33.43\00:18:34.91 Yes or no. Absolutely. 00:18:34.94\00:18:36.31 Okay, that's the point I want to make very carefully 00:18:36.34\00:18:38.28 because lot of people say I worship God every day. 00:18:38.31\00:18:40.70 If you are a Christian, 00:18:40.73\00:18:42.10 you should worship God every day. 00:18:42.13\00:18:44.60 But let me use this in marriage. 00:18:44.63\00:18:46.18 Do you honor your anniversary every day? 00:18:46.21\00:18:48.68 No, but are you married every day? Yes. 00:18:48.71\00:18:51.02 You honor your wife every day. I hope so. 00:18:51.05\00:18:52.59 Yes. We honor our spouse, our wives, 00:18:52.62\00:18:55.78 we honor our wives every day. 00:18:55.81\00:18:57.18 But is every day our wedding day? 00:18:57.21\00:18:59.22 No. Is every day our anniversary? No. 00:18:59.25\00:19:02.53 But now here's the issue. Yeah. 00:19:02.56\00:19:03.99 On the day that is our anniversary, it's a special day. 00:19:04.02\00:19:08.02 We continue to honor each other 00:19:08.05\00:19:09.43 but we're coming together as a memorial 00:19:09.46\00:19:12.80 of what has happened in the past. 00:19:12.83\00:19:14.25 That's exactly correct. 00:19:14.28\00:19:15.65 And I think this is one of the points we want to make 00:19:15.68\00:19:17.45 is that the Sabbath was established by God 00:19:17.48\00:19:19.47 as a memorial of creation, of His creative power, 00:19:19.50\00:19:24.12 of the fact that He is God, there is no other. 00:19:24.15\00:19:27.49 When we worship, when we rest on that day, 00:19:27.52\00:19:30.35 we are saying Lord, we choose Your day 00:19:30.38\00:19:33.40 because we honor You as our creator. That's right. 00:19:33.43\00:19:36.43 When we worship on another day or we say, 00:19:36.46\00:19:38.67 you know, well, it doesn't matter that day, 00:19:38.70\00:19:40.07 every day we should worship God. 00:19:40.10\00:19:41.70 There is no acknowledgement of creation, 00:19:41.73\00:19:44.98 of Him as the creator and what He is in our lives. 00:19:45.01\00:19:49.02 Now that doesn't mean that we don't love Him 00:19:49.05\00:19:51.61 and care for Him and worship Him 00:19:51.64\00:19:53.36 and seek to desire the blessings that He gives. 00:19:53.39\00:19:56.95 We should do that every day. Right. 00:19:56.98\00:19:58.46 But acknowledging who He is as our creator is something 00:19:58.49\00:20:02.62 that is infused within the meaning of the Sabbath. 00:20:02.65\00:20:05.59 Right, and you have a hard time convincing your wife 00:20:05.62\00:20:07.75 if you forget her anniversary every year, 00:20:07.78\00:20:09.89 if you forget your anniversary. 00:20:09.92\00:20:11.37 And the reason I say your anniversary, 00:20:11.40\00:20:13.21 the Sabbath is a weekly anniversary. 00:20:13.24\00:20:15.91 We know annum means yearly. 00:20:15.94\00:20:17.90 But the Sabbath is a weekly reminder 00:20:17.93\00:20:20.08 that the God of creation is our God, 00:20:20.11\00:20:23.94 that we acknowledge Him as the God of creation, 00:20:23.97\00:20:26.54 the God of sanctification, 00:20:26.57\00:20:27.94 the God of blessing, the God of redemption. 00:20:27.97\00:20:30.34 When we honor the Sabbath, 00:20:30.37\00:20:31.74 we're acknowledging the one that is connecting us to Him 00:20:31.77\00:20:35.69 and the day connects us together. 00:20:35.72\00:20:38.28 How we honor what He's honored, 00:20:38.31\00:20:40.59 how we keep the blessing intact as He's blessed it, 00:20:40.62\00:20:44.26 how we recognize He sanctifies us 00:20:44.29\00:20:46.50 through the sanctification of that day, 00:20:46.53\00:20:49.50 then the connection is unbroken. 00:20:49.53\00:20:51.42 So the three things He did there was 00:20:51.45\00:20:53.94 He blessed the day, can't bless any other day. 00:20:53.97\00:20:56.18 He sanctified it. That's the only blessed day, 00:20:56.21\00:20:58.17 the only sanctified day. 00:20:58.20\00:20:59.89 And then He rested from all His work 00:20:59.92\00:21:01.54 which we also cease from our labor. 00:21:01.57\00:21:05.44 The things we do Monday, sorry, from Sunday to Friday 00:21:05.47\00:21:09.53 is not to be done when the Sabbath comes in 00:21:09.56\00:21:11.67 because as God rested, we ought to rest. 00:21:11.70\00:21:14.93 Now let's break that down for just a minute, 00:21:14.96\00:21:16.78 as there's a deeper meaning, 00:21:16.81\00:21:18.69 a deeper understanding of that resting 00:21:18.72\00:21:21.64 because when we rest and what God has done, 00:21:21.67\00:21:24.53 we are not resting and what we have done. Very good point. 00:21:24.56\00:21:28.85 So when we acknowledge the Sabbath as God's day, 00:21:28.88\00:21:32.60 the seventh day as God's day, we're saying that we're resting 00:21:32.63\00:21:36.06 in what He has done for us not only in our creation 00:21:36.09\00:21:38.85 but in our redemption. That is correct. 00:21:38.88\00:21:41.05 Our salvation. 00:21:41.08\00:21:42.84 When we are choosing another day, 00:21:42.87\00:21:45.04 that is a man-made acknowledgement, 00:21:45.07\00:21:48.14 that is a man-made set apart, attempted blessing 00:21:48.17\00:21:53.54 for--used by man. That's right. 00:21:53.57\00:21:56.17 It's not what God has set aside. 00:21:56.20\00:21:58.03 So where some might say, 00:21:58.06\00:21:59.67 well, you know, keeping the Sabbath, 00:21:59.70\00:22:01.59 I mean that's legalism. 00:22:01.62\00:22:02.99 You know, that's something the Jews did 00:22:03.02\00:22:04.39 and it's very, very works based. 00:22:04.42\00:22:07.48 I would suggest exactly the opposite. 00:22:07.51\00:22:10.00 The Sabbath on the seventh day is acknowledging God's rest day. 00:22:10.03\00:22:13.01 It is rest based. It is based on faith 00:22:13.04\00:22:16.36 and trust in what He has done. Resting on another day 00:22:16.39\00:22:19.81 such as the first day of the week is acknowledging 00:22:19.84\00:22:23.07 what man has setup, what he has done. 00:22:23.10\00:22:25.71 Let me give you a simple example, John. 00:22:25.74\00:22:27.33 Right after sin, Adam and Eve obviously 00:22:27.36\00:22:30.47 were really torn up about what had happened. 00:22:30.50\00:22:34.30 I mean, can you imagine what's resting on their shoulders, 00:22:34.33\00:22:36.11 the remorse? That's right. 00:22:36.14\00:22:37.83 Well, they began to have children 00:22:37.86\00:22:39.23 and they had two first children Cain and Abel. 00:22:39.26\00:22:41.79 Cain and Abel had two altars 00:22:41.82\00:22:44.32 and it's the first real worship scene we find in the Bible. 00:22:44.35\00:22:47.95 On those two altars, one of them was brought a lamb 00:22:47.98\00:22:51.03 which God said to bring. 00:22:51.06\00:22:53.30 And the other one was brought what? 00:22:53.33\00:22:55.43 The fruit of the ground, what Cain had, 00:22:55.46\00:22:58.40 worked by his own hands 00:22:58.43\00:23:00.51 to bring as fruit given to God. That is true. 00:23:00.54\00:23:03.31 Two different altars, what's represented 00:23:03.34\00:23:05.23 there are two different forms of worship. That is right. 00:23:05.26\00:23:08.76 One is resting what God asked for, 00:23:08.79\00:23:11.85 Abel said you ask for a lamb, I'm bringing you a lamb. 00:23:11.88\00:23:14.95 I don't understand all of what it means but you asked for that, 00:23:14.98\00:23:18.03 I acknowledge that it means, 00:23:18.06\00:23:19.87 it points to something in the future 00:23:19.90\00:23:21.36 that you will do on my behalf. I will sacrifice this lamb. 00:23:21.39\00:23:25.04 Cain said, "Well, you know, what? 00:23:25.07\00:23:26.47 I've got a better idea." 00:23:26.50\00:23:27.87 I'm gonna choose something else and it was what he established, 00:23:27.90\00:23:30.38 what He had made from the ground and he brought that. 00:23:30.41\00:23:32.56 You've got two forms of worship there 00:23:32.59\00:23:34.44 and we see that throughout time, 00:23:34.47\00:23:36.36 either it's faith based 00:23:36.39\00:23:37.96 or it's works based. That's right. 00:23:37.99\00:23:39.66 And acknowledging and doing what God says is always 00:23:39.69\00:23:42.65 the faith based option. 00:23:42.68\00:23:44.05 And that's what we're seeing here. 00:23:44.08\00:23:45.53 You know, I'm amazed, John, that the Sabbath 00:23:45.56\00:23:46.93 is often referred to as works, 00:23:46.96\00:23:48.63 when the Sabbath is when work ended, 00:23:48.66\00:23:50.58 when work ended. And I want to go to Exodus 20 right now 00:23:50.61\00:23:55.76 because this is about the Ten Commandments. 00:23:55.79\00:23:57.43 And we're gonna try to cover as much as we could, 00:23:57.46\00:24:00.08 our time goes so quickly that's why this is just, 00:24:00.11\00:24:04.16 not just one program but we're gonna cover this in two. 00:24:04.19\00:24:06.04 And then we're gonna also include 00:24:06.07\00:24:07.44 as we possibly can a detailed explanation 00:24:07.47\00:24:10.72 in a booklet that we hope to put together 00:24:10.75\00:24:12.69 to make this very concise and cover all the basics. 00:24:12.72\00:24:16.01 But we're going to Exodus 20 verse 8 to 11, 00:24:16.04\00:24:18.97 Exodus Chapter 20 verses 8 to 11 00:24:19.00\00:24:22.40 and we're going to see now when we repeat this commandment, 00:24:22.43\00:24:25.96 when we read this commandment 00:24:25.99\00:24:27.36 we're gonna see something that's really amazing, 00:24:27.39\00:24:29.84 is gonna connect us indelibly to what we just read in Genesis. 00:24:29.87\00:24:34.18 But it's gonna begin with a word that seems strange 00:24:34.21\00:24:39.37 when that word was not used 00:24:39.40\00:24:40.77 in any of the other commandments. 00:24:40.80\00:24:43.65 And I know, you know exactly what word I'm gonna use. 00:24:43.68\00:24:46.68 Let's look what the Bible says 00:24:46.71\00:24:48.21 and I'm not gonna use my word 00:24:48.24\00:24:49.61 but I'm gonna use what the Bible says, 00:24:49.64\00:24:51.01 the very first word in Exodus 20 verse 8 to verse 11, 00:24:51.04\00:24:55.87 the very first word is, what's that word, John? 00:24:55.90\00:24:57.88 Remember. Remember. 00:24:57.91\00:24:59.90 Now why would God say remember? 00:24:59.93\00:25:02.17 Is He sovereign? Yes. 00:25:02.20\00:25:04.72 He knew as well as the great controversy began on earth, 00:25:04.75\00:25:07.84 the battle between light and darkness. 00:25:07.87\00:25:09.86 He knew after the fall of men 00:25:09.89\00:25:11.91 that somebody is going to forget what I did at creation. 00:25:11.94\00:25:17.13 As a matter of fact, somebody once said 00:25:17.16\00:25:19.42 "If the Sabbath were honored the way 00:25:19.45\00:25:20.97 that God intended, there would be no atheist today." Yeah. 00:25:21.00\00:25:24.70 There would be no people 00:25:24.73\00:25:26.10 that are fighting against the creation story, 00:25:26.13\00:25:28.10 as so much of the public schools are trying to do. 00:25:28.13\00:25:30.53 They're trying to bring an evolution. 00:25:30.56\00:25:31.93 Well, they had brought an evolution. 00:25:31.96\00:25:34.48 And Christians are fighting to tell the creation story 00:25:34.51\00:25:37.33 and it's almost laughed at. 00:25:37.36\00:25:39.35 Well, that's the reason why because 00:25:39.38\00:25:40.75 they've chosen to forget. 00:25:40.78\00:25:42.43 And the other thing too about that word remember, 00:25:42.46\00:25:44.20 you can only remember something that's already been established. 00:25:44.23\00:25:47.25 Exactly. So when He says remember, 00:25:47.28\00:25:49.66 it means there's something that is already been done 00:25:49.69\00:25:51.87 that they need to recall in their mind. That's right. 00:25:51.90\00:25:54.18 So when someone says, 00:25:54.21\00:25:55.58 if someone tries to tell you, well, 00:25:55.61\00:25:57.28 the Sabbath is about the Jews 00:25:57.31\00:25:58.68 and the commandments given to them at Mount Sinai, 00:25:58.71\00:26:00.59 it's not because the Sabbath tells them to recall something 00:26:00.62\00:26:03.95 that happened way back when, what was that event? 00:26:03.98\00:26:06.38 Creation. Creation. That's right. 00:26:06.41\00:26:07.96 Remember, remember. 00:26:07.99\00:26:09.36 Even an event prior to sin itself. 00:26:09.39\00:26:12.83 You know what, you made a point. I have to read this. 00:26:12.86\00:26:16.52 The Sabbath and the marriage were both established 00:26:16.55\00:26:20.54 before sin entered the world. 00:26:20.57\00:26:22.10 What two institutions are being attacked the most today? 00:26:22.13\00:26:25.17 I believe the Sabbath and the Ten Commandments 00:26:25.20\00:26:26.99 in general but the Sabbath 00:26:27.02\00:26:28.39 specifically and marriage. That's right. 00:26:28.42\00:26:30.92 It's amazing that in the Christian church 00:26:30.95\00:26:33.62 most Christian pulpits attack the Sabbath. 00:26:33.65\00:26:38.48 And the world is attacking marriage. 00:26:38.51\00:26:41.86 The redefinition of marriage 00:26:41.89\00:26:43.75 and the redefinition of the Sabbath. 00:26:43.78\00:26:46.38 The two things that God established 00:26:46.41\00:26:47.81 before sin entered the world. 00:26:47.84\00:26:49.55 Now let's look at this. 00:26:49.58\00:26:50.95 Let's go through this. 00:26:50.98\00:26:52.35 And now we're gonna see in this passage 00:26:52.38\00:26:53.75 what the really issue is, the issue is not the day. 00:26:53.78\00:26:56.30 That's what people think it is. 00:26:56.33\00:26:57.70 They think the issue is the day. That's not the issue. 00:26:57.73\00:27:00.93 Listen to what the text says. 00:27:00.96\00:27:03.07 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 00:27:03.10\00:27:05.84 Six days you shall labor and do all your work. 00:27:05.87\00:27:10.09 Here's the issue. 00:27:10.12\00:27:11.58 But the seventh day is the Sabbath 00:27:11.61\00:27:14.76 of the Lord your God. 00:27:14.79\00:27:17.49 Let me stop before I finish rest of the verse 10. 00:27:17.52\00:27:20.36 The question is not what day 00:27:20.39\00:27:23.04 but the question is who is your God? 00:27:23.07\00:27:25.83 That's the key. 00:27:25.86\00:27:27.23 May 22nd defines if they were two women in the room 00:27:27.26\00:27:30.36 one was May 22nd and one was September 1st, 00:27:30.39\00:27:33.00 May 22nd is the--connects me to the woman that is my wife. 00:27:33.03\00:27:39.54 When you look at this, 00:27:39.57\00:27:40.94 it is saying if you pick the God, 00:27:40.97\00:27:44.38 then you already have the day. That's right. 00:27:44.41\00:27:46.91 You don't pick the day and try to connect it to the God. 00:27:46.94\00:27:50.41 He's not gonna accept the day you pick 00:27:50.44\00:27:52.48 because He's already done that. 00:27:52.51\00:27:54.11 He's already picked the day. 00:27:54.14\00:27:55.51 And notice what He says, 00:27:55.54\00:27:56.91 remember the Sabbath day to do what? 00:27:56.94\00:27:58.70 Keep. Once again, John, if you remember something, 00:27:58.73\00:28:02.18 if you keep something, what does keep mean? 00:28:02.21\00:28:04.57 Keep means it's already holding in this case. 00:28:04.60\00:28:07.14 Well, my mom used to clean the house 00:28:07.17\00:28:08.54 and she said, "Keep it clean. Don't mess it. 00:28:08.57\00:28:10.75 Keep the table set. Keep the floor clean. 00:28:10.78\00:28:13.33 Keep your room clean." It's already been cleaned. 00:28:13.36\00:28:16.22 The day had already been blessed, 00:28:16.25\00:28:17.62 already been sanctified, already had been set aside as holy. 00:28:17.65\00:28:19.52 Remember to keep it the way 00:28:19.55\00:28:21.02 I made it. That's what God is saying. 00:28:21.05\00:28:23.06 And then He says, here's the issue, friends, 00:28:23.09\00:28:25.07 but the seventh day, verse 10 again, 00:28:25.10\00:28:27.74 but the seventh day 00:28:27.77\00:28:29.14 is the Sabbath of the lord Your God. 00:28:29.17\00:28:31.32 So the question before we go any further is who is your God? 00:28:31.35\00:28:34.64 If it is the God of creation, 00:28:34.67\00:28:36.64 the seventh day Sabbath is the day He established 00:28:36.67\00:28:39.66 as a sign between Him and us. 00:28:39.69\00:28:42.37 He did not establish another one. 00:28:42.40\00:28:43.77 They'd honor and keep holy. And let's finish this out. 00:28:43.80\00:28:46.66 The interesting thing too though, 00:28:46.69\00:28:48.06 'cause I know you already touched on this. 00:28:48.09\00:28:49.46 If you just start the seventh day 00:28:49.49\00:28:50.86 is the Sabbath of the Lord. 00:28:50.89\00:28:52.26 That's right. That's another point. 00:28:52.29\00:28:53.83 So then what's the Lord's Day? Okay. 00:28:53.86\00:28:58.56 We're gonna answer this straight up. 00:28:58.59\00:28:59.96 The Lord's Day is the seventh day. 00:28:59.99\00:29:01.54 It's not the first day of the week. 00:29:01.57\00:29:02.94 It cannot be. That's right. 00:29:02.97\00:29:04.34 No scriptural evidence for the Lord's Day 00:29:04.37\00:29:06.67 being the first day. That's right. 00:29:06.70\00:29:08.75 He made that clear at the end of creation week 00:29:08.78\00:29:10.67 where there was only m-a-n and wo-man. 00:29:10.70\00:29:14.66 And we'll see and we're going to Mark 00:29:14.69\00:29:16.53 Chapter 2 verse 27 and 28 in just a moment. 00:29:16.56\00:29:18.47 And the other point too that I'm making though 00:29:18.50\00:29:19.92 is that it belongs to Him 00:29:19.95\00:29:22.02 which is where you're connecting 00:29:22.05\00:29:23.42 if He's our God then this is His day. 00:29:23.45\00:29:25.56 It belongs to Him but in every case 00:29:25.59\00:29:27.44 where the seventh day is being spoken off, 00:29:27.47\00:29:29.27 the Sabbath-- Right. 00:29:29.30\00:29:30.74 It's spoken off as being as belonging to Him. 00:29:30.77\00:29:33.85 Right. It's His day. 00:29:33.88\00:29:35.47 So if someone comes to you and says, 00:29:35.50\00:29:38.15 well, or if someone's suggesting, 00:29:38.18\00:29:41.26 well, you can just pick a day to honor and worship. 00:29:41.29\00:29:43.08 I remember one pastor I was talking to about this subject 00:29:43.11\00:29:45.32 and he says, he said, 00:29:45.35\00:29:47.31 "John, I understand where you're coming from. 00:29:47.34\00:29:48.96 Our denomination doesn't believe this. 00:29:48.99\00:29:50.74 Frankly, my day is Wednesday." 00:29:50.77\00:29:53.46 And I said, "Really?" I said "Why did you pick Wednesday?" 00:29:53.49\00:29:56.96 "Well, I just picked a day. 00:29:56.99\00:29:58.54 Wednesday is the day I have downtime. 00:29:58.57\00:30:00.08 I spend with my family. I spend with the Lord. 00:30:00.11\00:30:01.94 It's my special day between me and Him." 00:30:01.97\00:30:04.59 Well, my response there is "Why did you pick a day? 00:30:04.62\00:30:08.58 It's already been picked by God Himself." Right. 00:30:08.61\00:30:12.17 Well, there is no real answer for it 00:30:12.20\00:30:14.43 because the rationalizing continues on. 00:30:14.46\00:30:16.92 We want validation. 00:30:16.95\00:30:19.04 People want-- always want validation 00:30:19.07\00:30:20.65 for what they already do. 00:30:20.68\00:30:22.30 They don't want to change. No. 00:30:22.33\00:30:24.51 But in this case if we're gonna find what the Bible Sabbath is, 00:30:24.54\00:30:27.64 what the Lord's Sabbath is, His day is, 00:30:27.67\00:30:30.12 it is the seventh day. It always will. 00:30:30.15\00:30:32.32 It is throughout the scriptures. It always will be. 00:30:32.35\00:30:35.10 Right. And people are saying Lord, I know what you said 00:30:35.13\00:30:37.01 but this is what I prefer. 00:30:37.04\00:30:38.70 So you need to modify and take on what I have chosen 00:30:38.73\00:30:43.45 rather than me taking on what you have chosen. 00:30:43.48\00:30:46.01 That's what's being told to Christian people today. 00:30:46.04\00:30:48.45 That's what leaders are saying. 00:30:48.48\00:30:49.86 I know the Seventh day, Sabbath is Saturday but-- 00:30:49.89\00:30:55.58 It doesn't matter-- And, you know, that-- 00:30:55.61\00:30:57.39 And everything else that come with that. 00:30:57.42\00:30:58.79 And it's ridiculous, it's an offense to God. It really is. 00:30:58.82\00:31:02.29 And it's a deception to those who love Him. 00:31:02.32\00:31:04.55 Because we're saying we love the Lord. 00:31:04.58\00:31:06.01 We're talking to people that love the Lord. 00:31:06.04\00:31:07.41 We're not talking to people that hate the Lord. 00:31:07.44\00:31:09.46 This is about a Christian who says, I love the Lord. 00:31:09.49\00:31:12.06 I love Jesus. I've given him my life. 00:31:12.09\00:31:14.23 But you've been told by your pastor 00:31:14.26\00:31:15.63 something completely opposite that it doesn't really matter. 00:31:15.66\00:31:18.11 Just pick a day God is happy with that. 00:31:18.14\00:31:19.69 It's not what God has said. 00:31:19.72\00:31:21.64 That's not what the word of God has said. 00:31:21.67\00:31:23.22 And that's not what the Lord has said in His word. 00:31:23.25\00:31:26.42 The rest of this text is very simple. He says, 00:31:26.45\00:31:30.11 and the reason I want to go through it 00:31:30.14\00:31:31.51 because verse 10 makes it very clear 00:31:31.54\00:31:34.62 who these parameters apply to. 00:31:34.65\00:31:37.63 But the Seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God. 00:31:37.66\00:31:39.80 In it you shall do no work. 00:31:39.83\00:31:42.30 You nor your son, nor your daughter, 00:31:42.33\00:31:43.91 nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, 00:31:43.94\00:31:46.70 nor your cattle, nor your stranger 00:31:46.73\00:31:49.07 who is within your gates. 00:31:49.10\00:31:50.47 When people come and visit us, we let them know, 00:31:50.50\00:31:53.71 in our home this is what we avoid on the Sabbath day. 00:31:53.74\00:31:57.91 This is special time as is our anniversary. 00:31:57.94\00:32:01.25 I tell people don't plan that event on May 22nd. 00:32:01.28\00:32:04.29 I'm not gonna be there. 00:32:04.32\00:32:05.69 And my wife and I have been true to that as long as 00:32:05.72\00:32:08.14 we've been married. This is our day. 00:32:08.17\00:32:10.42 We're gonna reserve this for our special time, 00:32:10.45\00:32:12.85 although we love each other every day, 00:32:12.88\00:32:14.54 although we spend time together every day. 00:32:14.57\00:32:17.31 But notice what it says 00:32:17.34\00:32:18.71 and here's the key I was talking about. 00:32:18.74\00:32:20.45 Verse 11 is gonna connect you back to creation, 00:32:20.48\00:32:23.82 not to the Jewish nation but to creation. 00:32:23.85\00:32:26.88 Creation itself. Okay. 00:32:26.91\00:32:28.52 For--here is the reason why the Sabbath should kept Holy. 00:32:28.55\00:32:31.62 "For in 6 days, the Lord made the heavens and the earth, 00:32:31.65\00:32:36.75 the sea and all that is in them and rested the Seventh day. 00:32:36.78\00:32:42.48 Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. 00:32:42.51\00:32:48.50 He rested, he blessed, he sanctified, he hallowed. 00:32:48.53\00:32:53.05 And that's what he is saying. 00:32:53.08\00:32:54.45 This day points you back to what I did at creation in 6 days. 00:32:54.48\00:33:00.63 Please keep it the way that I've established it to be. 00:33:00.66\00:33:02.95 And I want to go very, very quickly, John, 00:33:02.98\00:33:05.64 which text are you turning to I was gonna go to Mark. 00:33:05.67\00:33:07.62 I was just gonna read very quickly 00:33:07.65\00:33:09.10 'cause you're talking about a day of worship 00:33:09.13\00:33:10.78 and you're talking about resting. 00:33:10.81\00:33:12.22 You're right. You're talking about creation. 00:33:12.25\00:33:14.09 I'm just gonna throw this in there 00:33:14.12\00:33:15.49 not to cover all the details. Revelation? 00:33:15.52\00:33:16.89 Revelation 14. Very good point. Very, very good point. 00:33:16.92\00:33:19.50 Revelation 14 verses 6 and 7. Okay. 00:33:19.53\00:33:22.52 This is the beginning of the Three Angels' messages 00:33:22.55\00:33:25.02 angels--which angel means messenger. That's right. 00:33:25.05\00:33:30.34 It is the message that they're proclaiming 00:33:30.37\00:33:32.21 at the end of time in prophecy just before Christ's return 00:33:32.24\00:33:36.41 and notice what it contains, this message 00:33:36.44\00:33:39.05 what it incorporates here as important for the last days. 00:33:39.08\00:33:43.91 Verse 6, then I saw another angel 00:33:43.94\00:33:45.67 flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel. 00:33:45.70\00:33:48.36 Notice, this is the gospel to preach 00:33:48.40\00:33:50.94 to those who dwell on the face of the earth, 00:33:50.97\00:33:53.01 to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. 00:33:53.04\00:33:55.05 Saying with a loud voice and here's what He said, 00:33:55.08\00:33:57.77 "Fear God, and give glory to Him, 00:33:57.80\00:33:59.76 for the hour of His judgment has come." 00:33:59.79\00:34:02.51 And notice what all that hinges upon. 00:34:02.54\00:34:04.94 "And worship Him who made heaven, 00:34:04.97\00:34:07.29 and earth, the sea, and springs of water." 00:34:07.32\00:34:11.12 That's right. Go back to worshipping the creator. 00:34:11.15\00:34:13.73 And how do you do that? 00:34:13.76\00:34:15.45 You honor his Holy day, that has been lost sight of, 00:34:15.48\00:34:18.63 there's been a breach, 00:34:18.66\00:34:20.03 as we already brought up in Isaiah 58. 00:34:20.06\00:34:22.76 There's been a breach in truth. That's right. 00:34:22.79\00:34:24.16 Now come back to worshipping and honoring the creator 00:34:24.19\00:34:26.47 which is keeping his Sabbath day Holy. 00:34:26.50\00:34:29.03 That's right. And, you know, what when you look at that, 00:34:29.06\00:34:31.33 this message in Revelation 14, 00:34:31.36\00:34:32.91 is going to every nation, every kindred, every tribe, 00:34:32.94\00:34:37.21 every tongue, every language. This is a universal message. 00:34:37.24\00:34:40.94 This is not a Jewish message. That's right. 00:34:40.97\00:34:44.51 So even the misunderstanding of Revelation 00:34:44.54\00:34:47.04 has almost narrowed this down to the Jews. 00:34:47.07\00:34:49.93 This is not a Jewish message. 00:34:49.96\00:34:51.56 This is to every nation, every kindred, 00:34:51.59\00:34:54.08 every tongue, every people, saying to the world 00:34:54.11\00:34:57.15 it is time to get back to worshipping the creator 00:34:57.18\00:34:59.68 the way He needs to be worshipped. 00:34:59.71\00:35:01.66 The way He has established, 00:35:01.69\00:35:03.99 worship that is acceptable to Him. 00:35:04.02\00:35:06.12 So the Sabbath was made 00:35:06.15\00:35:07.52 at the very beginning of the creation week. 00:35:07.55\00:35:08.92 Now let's go to Mark Chapter 2 verse 27. 00:35:08.95\00:35:11.34 And then we're gonna go to 00:35:11.37\00:35:12.74 Ezekiel Chapter 20. But first of all, 00:35:12.77\00:35:15.69 the sign of allegiance, Mark Chapter 2 verse 27 and 28. 00:35:15.72\00:35:19.40 to show you clearly when the Sabbath was made. 00:35:19.43\00:35:21.15 Even Jesus when He came, Jesus made it very clear, 00:35:21.18\00:35:26.33 the purpose and for whom the Sabbath was made. 00:35:26.36\00:35:29.38 Read that for us, Mark Chapter 2 verse 27 and 28, John. 00:35:29.41\00:35:33.01 "And he said to them the Sabbath was made for man, 00:35:33.04\00:35:36.18 and not man for the Sabbath. 00:35:36.21\00:35:37.91 Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath." 00:35:37.94\00:35:41.99 There it is again. What day is he Lord of? 00:35:42.02\00:35:44.05 He's Lord of the Sabbath 00:35:44.08\00:35:45.45 and the Sabbath we know is the seventh day. 00:35:45.48\00:35:47.02 And he says the Sabbath is made for who? 00:35:47.05\00:35:49.69 M-A-N, was it-- was it J-E-W? 00:35:49.72\00:35:52.95 No. So is the Sabbath-- 00:35:52.98\00:35:54.51 And that word is mankind by the way. 00:35:54.54\00:35:56.50 Exactly. That's exactly the point. 00:35:56.53\00:35:59.12 The Sabbath was not made for a particular nation. 00:35:59.15\00:36:01.83 So the question lot of people may ask so, 00:36:01.86\00:36:03.84 so why is the Sabbath spoken of so much 00:36:03.87\00:36:06.11 among the Jewish community? 00:36:06.14\00:36:07.70 Because the Lord chose them as He chose the post office 00:36:07.73\00:36:10.09 to get a message to the world. That's right. 00:36:10.12\00:36:12.58 The post office, the people that work there, 00:36:12.61\00:36:14.32 I know guys that work there. Matter of fact, there're 00:36:14.35\00:36:16.20 two guys in town that work at the post office. 00:36:16.23\00:36:17.60 Both of them share the same name I have. 00:36:17.63\00:36:19.65 After work, they are no different than us. 00:36:19.68\00:36:21.31 At work, they are no different than us. They have the same, 00:36:21.34\00:36:23.63 you know, they function like every human does. 00:36:23.66\00:36:26.23 There's nothing different about them 00:36:26.26\00:36:27.63 expect for their position of responsibility. 00:36:27.66\00:36:30.67 They've got to get the message out. 00:36:30.70\00:36:32.10 God chose the Jewish nation to get the message to the world. 00:36:32.13\00:36:35.22 He told them that in the Book of Acts Chapter 14, 00:36:35.25\00:36:37.22 Paul said, Paul and Barnabas said, 00:36:37.25\00:36:39.33 it was necessary that the gospel first be spoken to you, 00:36:39.36\00:36:43.45 and that you be a light to the Gentiles, 00:36:43.48\00:36:46.45 to the ends of the earth. 00:36:46.48\00:36:47.85 But seeing that you judge yourselves 00:36:47.88\00:36:49.25 unworthy of everlasting life, 00:36:49.28\00:36:50.65 lo we turn to the Gentiles. 00:36:50.68\00:36:52.23 God simply called them to be the messengers 00:36:52.26\00:36:55.04 to carry the message to the world, 00:36:55.07\00:36:56.58 not to be the only ones to honor the Sabbath. 00:36:56.61\00:36:59.17 Yeah, and this may buck a little bit of a-- 00:36:59.20\00:37:01.93 or create a little bit of confusion in some, 00:37:01.96\00:37:03.38 but I'm not meaning to confuse, 00:37:03.41\00:37:04.78 I'm meaning to clarify. Okay. 00:37:04.81\00:37:06.35 There would have been no church as we know it today, 00:37:06.38\00:37:10.67 had the nation of Israel, 00:37:10.70\00:37:13.11 the Jews accepted the messaihship of Christ 00:37:13.14\00:37:16.97 and had performed the work that He desired that they do 00:37:17.00\00:37:19.72 which was to evangelize the world. Right. 00:37:19.75\00:37:21.96 That job as Acts Chapter 14 verses 45 and 46 says, 00:37:21.99\00:37:26.97 was given to the church because they did not do it. 00:37:27.00\00:37:29.96 They rejected that. Read those passages. 00:37:29.99\00:37:33.89 All right, notice this, so as verse 44, 00:37:33.92\00:37:36.08 "On the next Sabbath-- That's right. 00:37:36.11\00:37:38.79 Almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God 00:37:38.82\00:37:41.60 but when the Jews saw the multitudes 00:37:41.63\00:37:43.30 they were filled with envy and contradicting 00:37:43.33\00:37:45.54 and blaspheming they opposed the things spoken by Paul." 00:37:45.57\00:37:48.76 Who where opposing it? The Jewish leaders. 00:37:48.79\00:37:52.04 "Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said 00:37:52.07\00:37:54.03 it was necessary that the word of God 00:37:54.06\00:37:55.73 should be spoken to you first." 00:37:55.76\00:37:57.77 Why? Because you were the ones that God designed to take 00:37:57.80\00:38:00.70 the everlasting gospel to the world. That's right. 00:38:00.73\00:38:03.23 But he says, "Since you rejected 00:38:03.26\00:38:07.88 and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, 00:38:07.91\00:38:10.55 behold we turn to the Gentiles. 00:38:10.58\00:38:12.37 That is directly to the establishment 00:38:12.40\00:38:13.88 of the church including all the Gentiles. 00:38:13.91\00:38:16.36 That's right. And that's what God always intended 00:38:16.39\00:38:18.83 for everyone else to get this message 00:38:18.86\00:38:20.42 but the Jews wouldn't do it. So he said, "Okay. 00:38:20.45\00:38:23.55 We got to go to somebody that's gonna do it, 00:38:23.58\00:38:25.31 now that the door is open to the Gentiles. 00:38:25.34\00:38:27.56 They are coming in and there would have been 00:38:27.59\00:38:30.31 no controversy. There would've been no separation 00:38:30.34\00:38:32.63 because there would've simply been 00:38:32.66\00:38:34.03 God's people doing God's will, 00:38:34.06\00:38:35.53 carrying God's message to 00:38:35.56\00:38:37.68 God's people around the world. 00:38:37.71\00:38:39.29 It would've been very, very simple. 00:38:39.32\00:38:40.80 But now I wanna also point out, 00:38:40.83\00:38:42.20 we talked about the creation of the Sabbath. 00:38:42.23\00:38:44.23 We talked about the Sabbath as an established sign 00:38:44.26\00:38:49.16 of the memorial of creation, 00:38:49.19\00:38:50.90 sanctified by God, blessed by God, 00:38:50.93\00:38:53.94 honored by God, hallowed by God, made for man. 00:38:53.97\00:38:57.92 Mark 2 verse 27 and 28, not for the Jew 00:38:57.95\00:39:01.19 and the only command with the word remember 00:39:01.22\00:39:03.40 meaning we should've never forgotten it. 00:39:03.43\00:39:05.49 But people are being taught to forget. 00:39:05.52\00:39:07.52 Now let's go to Ezekiel Chapter 20 verse 12 and 20. 00:39:07.55\00:39:10.98 And I want you to read this because first of all 00:39:11.01\00:39:13.47 the creation of the Sabbath is a sign of memorial 00:39:13.50\00:39:15.99 but the purpose of the Sabbath is a sign of something else. 00:39:16.02\00:39:18.80 Is the sign--there is an additional reason 00:39:18.83\00:39:20.79 behind the Sabbath. 00:39:20.82\00:39:22.19 Read that for us, verse 12 and verse 20. 00:39:22.22\00:39:24.22 Verse 12, "Moreover I gave them my Sabbaths, 00:39:24.25\00:39:27.77 again he says my Sabbaths, 00:39:27.80\00:39:29.61 to be a sign between them and me that they might know 00:39:29.64\00:39:33.61 that I am the Lord who sanctifies them." 00:39:33.64\00:39:36.71 Okay, now get this. The day was sanctified. 00:39:36.74\00:39:40.49 That's right. He says, 00:39:40.52\00:39:41.89 when you honor my Sabbath, you are sanctified. 00:39:41.92\00:39:45.51 In fact, that Sabbath becomes a memorial 00:39:45.54\00:39:47.53 of my sanctification of you as well. 00:39:47.56\00:39:49.98 Right. So you step into-- 00:39:50.01\00:39:52.16 let's go back down to the marriage relationship again. 00:39:52.19\00:39:54.49 When my wife and I honor the May 22nd, 00:39:54.52\00:39:57.27 we are acknowledging that we were both sanctified, 00:39:57.30\00:40:01.18 set aside for each other on that day. 00:40:01.21\00:40:04.78 We were not sanctified on the 21st or the 23rd 00:40:04.81\00:40:06.75 but the 22nd of May in the year 1983. 00:40:06.78\00:40:10.96 Just in case you want to know what year it was. 00:40:10.99\00:40:12.69 And so clearly when we honor the Sabbath, 00:40:12.72\00:40:14.30 the Lord said it's a sign of sanctification 00:40:14.33\00:40:16.27 and then verse 20 also, Ezekiel 20 verse 12 00:40:16.30\00:40:19.67 was what you just read. And I'll go ahead and read verse 20 00:40:19.70\00:40:22.48 since you're looking for another passage. 00:40:22.51\00:40:24.15 All right. It says, "Halo my Sabbaths, 00:40:24.18\00:40:27.91 and they will be a sign between me and you, 00:40:27.94\00:40:31.16 and this is powerful that you may know, 00:40:31.19\00:40:34.68 that you may know that I am the Lord, your God, 00:40:34.71\00:40:37.90 I told you it is about who is your God. 00:40:37.93\00:40:40.20 This text reiterates-- 00:40:40.23\00:40:41.60 the Sabbath is about who is your God. 00:40:41.63\00:40:43.69 If you honor this, you'll know that I'm your God. 00:40:43.72\00:40:46.98 Let's reverse that. If you don't honor this, 00:40:47.01\00:40:49.23 I'm not your God. That's what he's in essence saying. 00:40:49.26\00:40:51.85 If you honor the Sabbath, you'll know I'm your God. 00:40:51.88\00:40:54.25 But if you don't honor the Sabbath, I'm not your God. 00:40:54.28\00:40:57.08 Because I'm not connecting myself to any other-- 00:40:57.11\00:40:59.11 I haven't blessed any other day. 00:40:59.14\00:41:01.83 So you honor this, I'm your God. 00:41:01.86\00:41:04.18 You'll know it that I'm your God. 00:41:04.21\00:41:06.06 That's right. This all points down 00:41:06.09\00:41:07.77 to in the language Ezekiel is using here, 00:41:07.80\00:41:10.17 or the Lord is using here is a direct connection 00:41:10.20\00:41:12.59 to Exodus Chapter 31. That's right. 00:41:12.62\00:41:15.71 Where he says, almost the same words. 00:41:15.74\00:41:17.19 It's a sign between me and you throughout your generation 00:41:17.22\00:41:20.05 that you may know that I'm the Lord who sanctifies you. 00:41:20.08\00:41:23.40 But notice this if you go a little further 00:41:23.43\00:41:24.85 down in verse 16, this is verse 16 of 31 now. Okay. 00:41:24.88\00:41:29.16 It says, "That it is a sign to observe the Sabbath 00:41:29.19\00:41:33.38 throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant." 00:41:33.41\00:41:36.85 Right. Now it's very interesting the use 00:41:36.88\00:41:38.68 of that word perpetual covenant. 00:41:38.71\00:41:40.38 And you read two verses just for our viewers and listeners. 00:41:40.41\00:41:42.54 I did. I read verse 13 and then I read verse 16. 00:41:42.57\00:41:45.45 Of Exodus? Of Exodus 31. 00:41:45.48\00:41:47.36 Okay. But that verse 31, 00:41:47.39\00:41:51.16 where it says perpetual covenant in very interesting 00:41:51.19\00:41:53.07 because God originally covenanted with mankind 00:41:53.10\00:41:57.55 to save Him to redeem Him. 00:41:57.58\00:41:59.22 That's right. That covenant is often spoken of as having 00:41:59.25\00:42:02.77 two different parts or two different aspects or phases. 00:42:02.80\00:42:07.05 The old covenant and the new covenant 00:42:07.08\00:42:10.22 but the old covenant is less about Old Testament 00:42:10.25\00:42:13.75 than it is about the mentality 00:42:13.78\00:42:15.69 that the Old Testament believers that the Israelites 00:42:15.72\00:42:18.33 many of them had with regard 00:42:18.36\00:42:20.05 to what God was doing to sanctify them. 00:42:20.08\00:42:23.98 The new covenant is part of the perpetual covenant. 00:42:24.01\00:42:26.90 So when the Lord is saying here 00:42:26.93\00:42:28.99 that it's a perpetual covenant for you 00:42:29.02\00:42:31.21 and your generations forever. 00:42:31.24\00:42:33.46 He's saying that, that Sabbath 00:42:33.49\00:42:34.86 is gonna last throughout eternity. 00:42:34.89\00:42:36.56 Right. And we know that because of Isaiah 66, 00:42:36.59\00:42:39.20 we'll be worshipping on the Sabbath day, 00:42:39.23\00:42:42.01 even in the new earth. That is true. 00:42:42.04\00:42:44.15 I'm so glad you brought that word out perpetual. 00:42:44.18\00:42:47.14 When something is perpetuated, 00:42:47.17\00:42:48.98 you know, when a person perpetuates a habit 00:42:49.01\00:42:50.92 it's something that you go over and over, a perpetual liar. 00:42:50.95\00:42:53.24 We've called people perpetual liars or habitual liars. 00:42:53.27\00:42:56.46 Perpetual that means they are doing the same thing over 00:42:56.49\00:42:58.36 and it's perpetual that's means it never ceases. 00:42:58.39\00:43:01.03 So this-- the Sabbath is a perpetual sign 00:43:01.06\00:43:05.08 meaning you can't get rid of it. 00:43:05.11\00:43:06.73 If you see a sign on a highway, I remember somebody, 00:43:06.76\00:43:10.12 I'm using this is an imaginary point 00:43:10.15\00:43:11.83 but this is true in so many different peoples lives. 00:43:11.86\00:43:14.41 Some young man will grow up 00:43:14.44\00:43:15.81 and he's like 15-years-old now 00:43:15.84\00:43:17.40 but his dad reminds him, he says, you know, son, 00:43:17.43\00:43:20.75 from the time I used to drive you around 00:43:20.78\00:43:22.25 when you were 2-years-old, 00:43:22.28\00:43:23.65 I used to always point you to that sign. 00:43:23.68\00:43:25.05 Remember that sign, you know, whatever the sign is in town. 00:43:25.08\00:43:28.38 That sign has been there since you were 2-years-old 00:43:28.41\00:43:31.57 and it's probably gonna be there 00:43:31.60\00:43:33.29 long enough for you to show your grandchildren 00:43:33.32\00:43:35.25 and for your grandchildren to show their grandchildren. 00:43:35.28\00:43:37.72 It's a perpetual sign. 00:43:37.75\00:43:39.78 It's a sign that the city has been keeping up to date. 00:43:39.81\00:43:43.34 It's been refurbished. It's been kept up. 00:43:43.37\00:43:45.35 And that sign is a never ending sign. 00:43:45.38\00:43:47.95 So in the very same way creation get this perpetuality 00:43:47.98\00:43:51.94 from the end of creation week throughout the Old Testament, 00:43:51.97\00:43:56.09 the people of God into the life of Jesus 00:43:56.12\00:44:00.70 and this is one thing that I want to bring up next. 00:44:00.73\00:44:03.62 Because this perpetual sign was not a sign 00:44:03.65\00:44:06.62 that was just established by Christ in the very beginning 00:44:06.65\00:44:11.31 and kept by God's people through the Old Testament 00:44:11.34\00:44:14.96 but it's the day that Jesus Himself kept. 00:44:14.99\00:44:17.50 Now, John, this blows me away, this blows me away. 00:44:17.53\00:44:21.07 This is like an atomic blast in my head. 00:44:21.10\00:44:24.65 Why are Christians afraid? Why are Christians taught 00:44:24.68\00:44:29.85 to not follow Jesus on this point? 00:44:29.88\00:44:35.02 Look for verse 16, let's go there. 00:44:35.05\00:44:38.17 Do you think you're gonna be lost by doing what Jesus did? 00:44:38.20\00:44:42.18 That's how much Satan has gripped 00:44:42.21\00:44:44.03 the mind of many Christians. 00:44:44.06\00:44:45.71 They're somehow convinced that if I do this, 00:44:45.74\00:44:48.37 I'm bound like Jesus, Jesus must have been bound 00:44:48.40\00:44:52.83 then if He's honoring the Sabbath. 00:44:52.86\00:44:55.12 Because the statements today are, 00:44:55.15\00:44:56.94 well, if you keep the Sabbath 00:44:56.97\00:44:58.34 you're bound, you're saving yourself by works. 00:44:58.37\00:45:01.61 When the commandment says 00:45:01.64\00:45:03.01 thou shall not do any work. Ain't that a funny thing? 00:45:03.04\00:45:05.19 And Jesus is the ultimate example of our faith. 00:45:05.22\00:45:07.53 If you're ever gonna look as to what we should do in our life 00:45:07.56\00:45:10.76 as Christians, look to what Jesus did. 00:45:10.79\00:45:12.92 The whole thing of what would Jesus do? Yeah. 00:45:12.95\00:45:15.28 What day would Jesus worship on? 00:45:15.31\00:45:17.44 What day would He keep holy? 00:45:17.47\00:45:19.16 What day would He honor His father on? 00:45:19.19\00:45:23.15 Instead-- The answer's right here. 00:45:23.18\00:45:24.55 And instead of trying-- exactly, 00:45:24.58\00:45:25.95 instead of trying to find the answer, 00:45:25.98\00:45:27.35 the Bible gives us the answer. Read it for us. 00:45:27.38\00:45:28.84 Luke 4:16, "So He came to Nazareth, 00:45:28.87\00:45:32.00 where He had been brought up. 00:45:32.03\00:45:33.91 And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue 00:45:33.94\00:45:36.95 on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 00:45:36.98\00:45:39.95 Now somebody may say, well, well, well, wait, wait, 00:45:39.98\00:45:41.82 he went to a synagogue, it wasn't a church. 00:45:41.85\00:45:44.79 He went into a synagogue so, 00:45:44.82\00:45:46.42 because he went into a synagogue, 00:45:46.45\00:45:48.51 he was Jewish and that's the reason He did it. 00:45:48.54\00:45:51.40 Well, you know, friend, what's so offensive 00:45:51.43\00:45:52.80 about that idea and the reason I'm saying 00:45:52.83\00:45:54.87 that is because I've been told that before. 00:45:54.90\00:45:56.63 People say the only reason why Jesus kept the Sabbath 00:45:56.66\00:45:58.77 is because He was Jewish, came in through a Jewish family. 00:45:58.80\00:46:03.04 You know, the offense about that would be, 00:46:03.07\00:46:05.66 well, the Sabbath was made only for Jews 00:46:05.69\00:46:08.14 and Jesus is only obedient because He's a Jew. 00:46:08.17\00:46:11.29 Well, all the Bible writers, 00:46:11.32\00:46:14.47 we must not read the Bible 00:46:14.50\00:46:15.89 because the Bible writers are based on Hebrew writers 00:46:15.92\00:46:19.11 all throughout scripture, Jewish writers from beginning to end, 00:46:19.14\00:46:22.28 people that God shows in various times 00:46:22.31\00:46:24.15 in various ways to compile the scriptures. 00:46:24.18\00:46:27.01 So is it because it's done by the Jews 00:46:27.04\00:46:30.16 that we shouldn't do it? Is that what's being taught? 00:46:30.19\00:46:32.92 The reason why the Lord kept that here is very simple. 00:46:32.95\00:46:36.52 He's honoring what He established 00:46:36.55\00:46:39.72 and the very same way that Jesus was baptized, 00:46:39.75\00:46:43.21 He's honoring what He has established. 00:46:43.24\00:46:46.63 Jesus was not baptized just because it was arbitrary. 00:46:46.66\00:46:50.84 He left it as an example for us to follow. 00:46:50.87\00:46:53.42 Jesus, son of the Sabbath as an example for us to follow 00:46:53.45\00:46:57.08 and that's why Mark, that's why Jesus said 00:46:57.11\00:46:59.36 and Mark recorded that Sabbath was made for man. 00:46:59.39\00:47:03.24 You know that men-- actually, John, 00:47:03.27\00:47:04.64 the Sabbath was made for the good of man. 00:47:04.67\00:47:06.98 If you honor the Sabbath, you are the benefactor. 00:47:07.01\00:47:09.66 The day doesn't know you're doing this 00:47:09.69\00:47:11.26 but you become a benefactor. 00:47:11.29\00:47:12.67 And today, John, the whole day, 00:47:12.70\00:47:15.32 even if you say it's the first day of the week 00:47:15.35\00:47:16.79 which it's not, people don't keep the whole day, 00:47:16.82\00:47:20.17 church, mall, football game, superbowl Sunday, shopping, 00:47:20.20\00:47:25.46 baseball, little league, picnics, barbecues, 00:47:25.49\00:47:29.51 the whole day is not kept as a Holy. 00:47:29.54\00:47:31.87 It's a sad attempt that is short hour and a half 00:47:31.90\00:47:34.59 or maybe 2 hours at the most. It's not a whole day. 00:47:34.62\00:47:37.96 And many churches sometimes come back in the evening 00:47:37.99\00:47:40.28 to do another service. But it's not a holy day, 00:47:40.31\00:47:42.23 it's not even honored as a holy day 00:47:42.26\00:47:43.96 and there's another push, John, 00:47:43.99\00:47:45.44 the new push now is to make the whole day holy, 00:47:45.47\00:47:47.88 in many nations around the world are fighting to push 00:47:47.91\00:47:52.20 and make Sunday a Holy day. 00:47:52.23\00:47:54.74 It's happening all over the world. 00:47:54.77\00:47:56.25 Right. You know, anyway, but go ahead. 00:47:56.28\00:47:58.36 I was gonna say that, you know, as Jesus set this example, 00:47:58.39\00:48:01.95 going into the synagogue on the Sabbath, 00:48:01.98\00:48:04.16 you know, you commented that people say, 00:48:04.19\00:48:05.73 well, he did that because he was Jewish. 00:48:05.76\00:48:07.64 What's interesting because the disciples didn't think so. 00:48:07.67\00:48:10.28 Right. Because if we go to Acts, and I'm not jumping ahead here 00:48:10.31\00:48:12.99 but if you go to Acts 13 verse 42, 00:48:13.02\00:48:15.09 it says clearly that, that the Jews 00:48:15.12\00:48:18.49 as they met in the synagogue and Paul was preaching to them. 00:48:18.52\00:48:23.48 That it says that the Gentiles then beg that those words 00:48:23.51\00:48:26.77 might be preached to them on the next Sabbath. 00:48:26.80\00:48:29.60 That's verse 42 of Acts 13. 00:48:29.63\00:48:32.69 And then it says, in verse 44 on that next Sabbath, 00:48:32.72\00:48:35.52 almost the whole city came together 00:48:35.55\00:48:37.34 to hear the word of God. 00:48:37.37\00:48:38.74 So you have-- rather than the Gentiles 00:48:38.77\00:48:42.34 establishing another day in honor of the resurrection, 00:48:42.37\00:48:45.58 you have the Gentiles joining with the Jews 00:48:45.61\00:48:48.29 on the Holy day already established 00:48:48.32\00:48:50.28 to worship with them as the church. Right. 00:48:50.31\00:48:53.33 You have the exact opposite thing happening 00:48:53.36\00:48:55.53 that many church leaders today tell you happened. 00:48:55.56\00:48:58.48 It's a complete fabrication what we find as, 00:48:58.51\00:49:02.74 well, they did it in honor of the resurrection 00:49:02.77\00:49:05.51 and we see that in the early church. 00:49:05.54\00:49:07.16 It did not happen. That is a lie. Thank you, John. 00:49:07.19\00:49:10.44 And that's all it could be, that's all it could be, 00:49:10.47\00:49:12.77 a false representation of what the Bible says. 00:49:12.80\00:49:16.84 The Jews and Gentiles gathered on the Sabbath day. 00:49:16.87\00:49:21.17 So therefore if the disciples Paul and Barnabas 00:49:21.20\00:49:24.60 are in Antioch preaching on the Sabbath day, 00:49:24.63\00:49:29.48 is Paul and Barnabas victims of legalism or are they doing, 00:49:29.51\00:49:35.16 what they know is right? Which one would it be? 00:49:35.19\00:49:39.43 They're doing what Jesus did. Right. 00:49:39.46\00:49:42.20 They're following the example of Jesus. 00:49:42.23\00:49:44.32 They are honoring a day that they know is right. 00:49:44.35\00:49:46.75 They are not legalists. Are they legalists? 00:49:46.78\00:49:48.24 No, they're not legalists. I'm amazed, that terminology. 00:49:48.27\00:49:50.90 Whenever I hear that, my hair stands up 00:49:50.93\00:49:54.20 on the back of my neck. 00:49:54.23\00:49:55.60 You know, I heard a very famous preacher say, 00:49:55.63\00:49:57.00 "Well, you know, they transferred the legalism 00:49:57.03\00:50:00.99 of the Old Testament Sabbath to the New Testament 00:50:01.02\00:50:04.52 and established 1021 laws. 00:50:04.55\00:50:07.91 You know what, the Jews who rejected Jesus, 00:50:07.94\00:50:12.14 made the Sabbath a burden. 00:50:12.17\00:50:15.38 You couldn't spit on the ground. 00:50:15.41\00:50:16.90 You couldn't travel more than a half a mile. 00:50:16.93\00:50:19.24 You couldn't pluck out your hair that was work, 00:50:19.27\00:50:21.15 You couldn't take a donkey out of a pit. 00:50:21.18\00:50:24.07 That's why Jesus everything He did, 00:50:24.10\00:50:26.34 when He freed a person, 00:50:26.37\00:50:27.74 when He healed them on the Sabbath, 00:50:27.77\00:50:29.92 He made it very clear, 00:50:29.95\00:50:31.99 it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. 00:50:32.02\00:50:35.14 He relieved the suffering of the poor. 00:50:35.17\00:50:38.08 He fed the hungry. He clothed the naked. 00:50:38.11\00:50:40.47 He restored the sight to the blind. 00:50:40.50\00:50:42.19 He raised the dead. He did all these things-- 00:50:42.22\00:50:45.73 He restored mobility to those who could not walk. 00:50:45.76\00:50:49.27 He did this all on the Sabbath day 00:50:49.30\00:50:50.71 to remind the Jews that rejected Jesus, 00:50:50.74\00:50:55.17 that the Sabbath is a blessing. 00:50:55.20\00:50:56.92 Here's the amazing thing. Do you know that some actually teach 00:50:56.95\00:50:59.25 that He did that to deliberately break it? 00:50:59.28\00:51:01.62 I know that, I was going to say what you're gonna say-- 00:51:01.65\00:51:04.38 Some say that actually Jesus deliberately broke the Sabbath 00:51:04.41\00:51:07.32 to show a clean break to a resurrection day. 00:51:07.35\00:51:10.16 You know that the-- And that is, 00:51:10.19\00:51:11.82 you know, what that does effectively? 00:51:11.85\00:51:14.20 It makes Jesus a sinner 00:51:14.23\00:51:16.10 and makes Him an unworthy and unable Savior. 00:51:16.13\00:51:19.48 He would not have been a Savior of the world 00:51:19.51\00:51:20.94 had He broken the law of God. Very good point. 00:51:20.97\00:51:24.16 So now did Jesus intentionally disobey to break a tradition 00:51:24.19\00:51:29.43 or did He not disobey to reestablish to proper place-- 00:51:29.46\00:51:34.07 True meaning of the Sabbath. 00:51:34.10\00:51:35.47 The true meaning of the Sabbath. It had been distorted. 00:51:35.50\00:51:38.30 That's why by the time Jesus came, a lot of people-- 00:51:38.33\00:51:41.33 and this is a very important point. 00:51:41.36\00:51:43.68 One of the reasons why many people look at the Sabbath 00:51:43.71\00:51:48.26 as something that was solely Jewish 00:51:48.29\00:51:51.03 is because how they distorted 00:51:51.06\00:51:53.38 and how they made the Sabbath a burden. 00:51:53.41\00:51:56.68 But the Sabbath is not a burden. 00:51:56.71\00:51:58.45 The Sabbath is one of the commandments of God. 00:51:58.48\00:52:01.07 And none of the commandments are a burden. 00:52:01.10\00:52:02.47 Matter of fact go with me first quickly to 1 John. 00:52:02.50\00:52:05.02 We're gonna-- that's why we've dedicated more 00:52:05.05\00:52:06.55 than one program to-- And as you read this text, 00:52:06.58\00:52:08.31 as you're going there, let me read Revelation 14:12. 00:52:08.34\00:52:12.51 Because Revelation 14:12 talks about the saints 00:52:12.54\00:52:15.44 who keep the commandments of God in the faith of Jesus. 00:52:15.47\00:52:17.63 That's right. So if you say 00:52:17.66\00:52:19.22 keeping the commandments of God are legalism. 00:52:19.25\00:52:21.99 You're in contradiction to verses that say 00:52:22.02\00:52:24.33 that keeping the commandments of God 00:52:24.36\00:52:25.73 and the faith of Jesus are harmonious. 00:52:25.76\00:52:28.83 This passage clearly says they belong together. 00:52:28.86\00:52:31.36 That is right. It's almost reiterating James contention 00:52:31.39\00:52:33.92 that faith and works go together. 00:52:33.95\00:52:37.73 And here we're finding the commandments of God, 00:52:37.76\00:52:39.64 keeping those commandments and the faith of Jesus 00:52:39.67\00:52:42.20 are two things that are inseparable. That's right. 00:52:42.23\00:52:45.89 So when you keep the commandments, 00:52:45.92\00:52:47.36 when you keep the Sabbath, 00:52:47.39\00:52:48.76 you're actually living in harmony with Christ faith, 00:52:48.79\00:52:53.46 His practice and what He set as an example for us to do. 00:52:53.49\00:52:57.51 Somebody may say, why make such a big deal about something. 00:52:57.54\00:53:00.53 We're not making a big deal about it. 00:53:00.56\00:53:02.23 We are in fact hoping that people remember 00:53:02.26\00:53:06.49 what God made a big deal about. 00:53:06.52\00:53:09.26 You know, if we said 00:53:09.29\00:53:10.66 if the issue is over the commandment of murder, 00:53:10.69\00:53:14.37 say why are they talking about the fact 00:53:14.40\00:53:16.12 that we should not murder? 00:53:16.15\00:53:17.66 Why are they making such a big deal about it? 00:53:17.69\00:53:19.78 Remember the text that we began this program with, 00:53:19.81\00:53:22.14 we are building up the old waste places. 00:53:22.17\00:53:24.11 We are raising up the foundations 00:53:24.14\00:53:25.73 of many generations. 00:53:25.76\00:53:27.13 We are repairing the breach. 00:53:27.16\00:53:30.23 We are restoring paths to dwell in. 00:53:30.26\00:53:33.34 Before we end the program, 00:53:33.37\00:53:34.84 we're winding down the hour 00:53:34.87\00:53:36.24 but I want you to go to Isaiah 58 00:53:36.27\00:53:37.72 after I read this because I mentioned a moment ago 00:53:37.75\00:53:39.77 that Isaiah 58 became with verse 12 to 14. 00:53:39.80\00:53:42.79 I mentioned a moment ago 00:53:42.82\00:53:44.19 that the Sabbath is not a burden anymore 00:53:44.22\00:53:46.25 than any of the other commandments as a burden. 00:53:46.28\00:53:48.38 None of them is a burden. 00:53:48.41\00:53:49.78 Matter of fact, Jesus said this in 1 John Chapter 5 and verse 3. 00:53:49.81\00:53:54.21 And this is beautiful here, "For this is the love of God, 00:53:54.24\00:53:58.30 that we keep His commandments. 00:53:58.33\00:54:00.45 And His commandments are not burdensome." 00:54:00.48\00:54:04.54 It's not a burden. It's a delight. 00:54:04.57\00:54:06.63 So now would you read that for us? 00:54:06.66\00:54:08.78 Because it fits perfectly into it. 00:54:08.81\00:54:10.48 Yes, right and following that verse from Isaiah 58:12 00:54:10.51\00:54:13.56 about building the old waste places. 00:54:13.59\00:54:15.74 We find this very next-- these very next two verses, 00:54:15.77\00:54:18.18 verse 13, "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, 00:54:18.21\00:54:22.31 from doing your pleasure on my Holy day, 00:54:22.34\00:54:25.58 and call the Sabbath a delight, 00:54:25.61\00:54:27.53 the Holy day of the Lord, honorable, and shall honor Him, 00:54:27.56\00:54:30.75 not doing your own ways, 00:54:30.78\00:54:32.15 nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, 00:54:32.18\00:54:34.95 then you shall delight yourself in the Lord. 00:54:34.98\00:54:37.17 And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, 00:54:37.20\00:54:40.58 and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father 00:54:40.61\00:54:43.19 for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." 00:54:43.22\00:54:45.64 Notice what it says, "Call the Sabbath a delight." 00:54:45.67\00:54:49.86 It's not a burden. It's a delight, 00:54:49.89\00:54:52.57 but Satan has cleverly taken 6,000 years 00:54:52.60\00:54:57.45 to inject like a tiny little syringe-- 00:54:57.48\00:55:01.73 like a tiny little needle 00:55:01.76\00:55:03.32 on the end of a syringe filled with deception. 00:55:03.35\00:55:06.23 He's injected this into the vein of teachers today 00:55:06.26\00:55:10.29 that say it was a burden. 00:55:10.32\00:55:12.54 But now the new Christian Sabbath is a delight. 00:55:12.57\00:55:17.36 And in the next program, what we're gonna point out 00:55:17.39\00:55:19.27 is where this transition came in. 00:55:19.30\00:55:22.44 We're gonna show some of the New Testament passages 00:55:22.47\00:55:24.68 that continue to support the reiteration 00:55:24.71\00:55:26.64 of the importance of the Sabbath. 00:55:26.67\00:55:28.68 We're gonna show what Jesus did, 00:55:28.71\00:55:30.52 what the disciples did, what the Christian Church did. 00:55:30.55\00:55:33.88 And then we're gonna show 00:55:33.91\00:55:35.28 the eternal nature of the Sabbath. 00:55:35.31\00:55:36.68 We'll even answer some of the common 00:55:36.71\00:55:38.08 misconceptions right out there. 00:55:38.11\00:55:40.51 About the fact that it was nailed to the cross, 00:55:40.54\00:55:41.91 or it's legalism, or it was changed at the resurrection, 00:55:41.94\00:55:43.81 or it's the Lord's day, it doesn't really matter. 00:55:43.84\00:55:45.96 These are vitally important salvation issues. 00:55:45.99\00:55:48.76 Now you mentioned something. 00:55:48.79\00:55:50.39 You said while you-- John and John. 00:55:50.42\00:55:53.18 Making such a big deal. Making such a big deal. Okay. 00:55:53.21\00:55:55.90 Let me ask-- let me answer it this way. 00:55:55.93\00:55:58.73 Why would Satan make such a big deal about going 00:55:58.76\00:56:03.38 after this commandment over the others? 00:56:03.41\00:56:05.64 Uh, that's a very good point. 00:56:05.67\00:56:07.04 I'm gonna change the question here. 00:56:07.07\00:56:08.57 The question is why are we making a big deal out of it? 00:56:08.60\00:56:11.27 Why does Satan consider it such a big deal 00:56:11.30\00:56:13.15 as to change the day? That's right. 00:56:13.18\00:56:15.37 He is the one that's making the deal. 00:56:15.40\00:56:16.77 He brought the fight to God. 00:56:16.80\00:56:18.74 That's very good point. All right, so this isn't us. 00:56:18.77\00:56:21.03 We're not making a big deal about it. 00:56:21.06\00:56:22.43 We're defending what is clearly in scripture, 00:56:22.46\00:56:25.15 what Satan is doing here by attacking the Sabbath? 00:56:25.18\00:56:27.96 He is attacking the creator. 00:56:27.99\00:56:31.83 He's attacking the Lordship of Christ. 00:56:31.86\00:56:35.49 The salvation, the Savior of Christ. 00:56:35.52\00:56:38.46 He's attacking everything that gives Christ 00:56:38.49\00:56:40.66 that gives God authority in this earth. That's right. 00:56:40.69\00:56:44.61 And it's clearly laid out by observing his Sabbath 00:56:44.64\00:56:48.35 or the one that is set up to counterfeit it 00:56:48.38\00:56:52.57 on the first day of the week. 00:56:52.60\00:56:53.97 That's very good point. 00:56:54.00\00:56:55.37 So the fight was brought to God, 00:56:55.40\00:56:58.01 not God making a big deal out of it. 00:56:58.04\00:57:00.59 Satan's making the big deal out of it. 00:57:00.62\00:57:02.09 And if you want to get completely as far as you can 00:57:02.12\00:57:04.92 from what satan is doing to attack, 00:57:04.95\00:57:07.22 then move toward where God says, 00:57:07.25\00:57:10.49 "Keep my commandments in honor of my Holy day." 00:57:10.52\00:57:12.62 And it comes to down into this text 00:57:12.65\00:57:14.32 which we'll reiterate in another program. 00:57:14.35\00:57:16.70 He simply says to the Christian, 00:57:16.73\00:57:18.10 "If you love me, keep my commandments. 00:57:18.13\00:57:22.65 If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15. 00:57:22.68\00:57:26.85 We're gonna cover more of this in the next program. 00:57:26.88\00:57:29.25 But as you know one day God's gonna make a house call. 00:57:29.28\00:57:31.37 We pray that you'll love Him and you'll be ready 00:57:31.40\00:57:33.60 when He comes. God bless you. 00:57:33.63\00:57:35.55
