Why do some people die so young?

Well, let's read the scripture
here first, it comes from,

the threescore and ten
comes from Psalm 90:10.

And it says there, "The days
of our lives are seventy years."

King James Version
says, threescore and ten.
00:04:27.19\00:04:30.88
"And if by reason of
strength they are eighty years,
00:04:30.91\00:04:33.94
yet their boast is
only labor and sorrow,
00:04:33.97\00:04:36.83
for it is soon
cutoff and we fly away."
00:04:36.86\00:04:39.67
So here the Psalmist
is saying that our lives

are typically 70 years long.

This isn't from what I read,

this isn't a
promise of 70 years.

This is a
generality of what--the time,

you could say the longevity
of people in those days,

they live generally
around seventy years
00:04:58.21\00:05:00.62
and he says even
by reason of strength

some press on to eighty years.

That is a blessing in those days

and I think it's
a blessing today,

you know, some
people, many will be happy

to live 70 years
especially 80 years. Right.

But we do find even in our
day that some die very early

and so his question is
here, is this a guarantee?

First of all no because it's
not a promise to live threescore

and ten or seventy years.

But the answer really that I
think is really more pertinent

here is why do some
people die so young?

And the answer is that
an enemy has done this,

the enemy exists.
Satan is in the world.

Sin is in the world and
he does take our life early.
00:05:37.95\00:05:40.99
It is God's will that we live
forever that we live eternally.
00:05:41.02\00:05:43.80
He never designed that we would
live only 70 years or 80 years,
00:05:43.83\00:05:48.17
but in this
life it is a blessing
00:05:48.20\00:05:50.73
to live 70 and 80 years
00:05:50.76\00:05:53.16
or even longer for
that for some of us.
00:05:53.19\00:05:56.01
Especially in this day and age,
00:05:56.04\00:05:57.41
we live in developed
countries that have medicine
00:05:57.44\00:05:59.86
that have doctors
that can keep us going

for much longer than they had,

or we had been able
to live in the past.

answer really is here

that is it's not
a promise to live.

Some people who live
according to God's will,

who are completely in
harmony with His principles

are cut short by cancer,
by disease, by others things

that we struggle with in this
life of, in this world of sin.

But it is a
blessing to live that long

blesses us in that way.

know, I was looking at the news

this morning before I left
home and it was really sad.

A young girl who just
started college 18 years old

was--her life was taken
tragically and intentionally

by a 21-year-old
boyfriend who was, you know,
00:06:41.32\00:06:44.53
the news still
being put together
00:06:44.56\00:06:46.21
as to what the reason
was, so I can't devolves that,
00:06:46.24\00:06:49.98
and by the time you hear
this, this may be old news.

But the point of the
matter is those are lives

that are cut short
not because of illness,

not because of a car accident

but because of
the sin in our world.

And you know, "The wages of sin
is death, thou shall not kill."

God has put in place parameters

that do extend our

talks about how important is

for us to listen
to the word of God.

other in head with tables,

slide down a banister of steps

on skateboard

All this hazing stuff
where people die over dinking,

where they drink so much

that they end up
killing their friends.

On the news the other
day they have the teenagers

now they can access drugs,

so what they are doing is,

they are exhaling,
exhaling, exhaling, exhaling

and they hold their nose
and mouth until they pass out,

kid 15-year-old died.

Did this in his
living room with his friends,

fell down on a sharp object

ended his life at 15

Why should you
