Amen. 00:01:46.22\00:01:49.38 Now you know, Bible questions 00:01:49.41\00:01:51.36 are such a significant part of this program. 00:01:51.39\00:01:53.20 If you have any questions you want to send to us, 00:01:53.23\00:01:55.09 we have an email address that you'd like to have. 00:01:55.12\00:01:57.63 If you have any things that are on your mind 00:01:57.66\00:01:59.51 and questions you want to ask us, 00:01:59.54\00:02:00.91 send those to housecalls@3abn.org. 00:02:00.94\00:02:04.02 That's housecalls@3abn.org. 00:02:04.05\00:02:06.61 we'll give you that information little later on. 00:02:06.64\00:02:09.03 So you can also gather and say, "well, where is my computer, 00:02:09.06\00:02:12.43 where is my laptop, I'm going to send the question" 00:02:12.46\00:02:14.35 and we try our best to download those 00:02:14.38\00:02:16.88 and answer those and so the first half 00:02:16.91\00:02:19.30 of our program is often dedicated to questions. 00:02:19.33\00:02:21.49 So John, what do we have for today? 00:02:21.52\00:02:23.75 We had a question from Rochelle. 00:02:23.78\00:02:25.79 Rochelle, is that your wife? 00:02:25.82\00:02:28.13 No, it's not. Okay. 00:02:28.16\00:02:29.99 But it is another Rochelle. Okay. 00:02:30.02\00:02:32.26 And she says, she wonders at times 00:02:32.29\00:02:34.30 about the seeming difference between 00:02:34.33\00:02:36.47 God of the Old Testament and Jesus. 00:02:36.50\00:02:40.46 Jesus himself said that "my Father and I are one," 00:02:40.49\00:02:43.17 but at sometimes it doesn't appear so. 00:02:43.20\00:02:45.16 And she references a text here. 00:02:45.19\00:02:47.63 Deuteronomy 19:21, as an example. 00:02:47.66\00:02:50.77 Why the disconnect? 00:02:50.80\00:02:52.72 And I would even say, is there a disconnect? 00:02:52.75\00:02:55.17 Okay, very good. So let's take a look here. 00:02:55.20\00:02:56.88 Let's read the verse first that Rochelle gives us 00:02:56.91\00:03:00.09 from Deuteronomy 19:21. Okay. 00:03:00.12\00:03:05.95 And it says here, "Your eyes shall not pity, 00:03:05.98\00:03:09.13 life shall be for life, eye for eye, 00:03:09.16\00:03:12.62 tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot." 00:03:12.65\00:03:17.62 This was the last text in the passage 00:03:17.65\00:03:21.76 given on the law of witnesses 00:03:21.79\00:03:23.63 and also the counsel God gave the Israelites 00:03:23.66\00:03:29.25 as they were to go into the land of Israel 00:03:29.28\00:03:31.45 or the land of Canaan, 00:03:31.48\00:03:32.85 that they were to take possession of that land, 00:03:32.88\00:03:34.98 but to destroy utterly all that existed and lived in Canaan. 00:03:35.01\00:03:39.02 Not just fathers, but mothers and children and livestock 00:03:39.05\00:03:44.31 to some degree in some of these nations 00:03:44.34\00:03:46.16 it was all to be destroyed as they enter into this land. 00:03:46.19\00:03:50.00 Some look at that and they say, 00:03:50.03\00:03:51.40 "well, you know, the God we serve is not that God. 00:03:51.43\00:03:55.57 It's Jesus of the New Testament." 00:03:55.60\00:03:59.38 And so sometimes you find this disconnect 00:03:59.41\00:04:01.72 between Old Testament and New Testament. 00:04:01.75\00:04:04.15 But what we read in scriptures 00:04:04.18\00:04:07.17 that God is the same yesterday, today, and how long? 00:04:07.20\00:04:09.85 Forever. Forever. 00:04:09.88\00:04:11.25 So God has not changed, we have not changed 00:04:11.28\00:04:14.97 and the fact that we are still corrupted by sin. 00:04:15.00\00:04:17.40 What has-- the problem we have here 00:04:17.43\00:04:20.86 with this apparent disconnect is, 00:04:20.89\00:04:22.80 understanding God's character. Who He really is? 00:04:22.83\00:04:26.14 And there's been a lot of misapprehension about God. 00:04:26.17\00:04:28.57 We in fact we go overboard to reveal 00:04:28.60\00:04:31.64 how God is so loving and kind, 00:04:31.67\00:04:33.71 and I think we disconnect ourselves as Christians 00:04:33.74\00:04:36.43 to a great degree from the Old Testament, 00:04:36.46\00:04:38.11 some of us do because we're trying to almost 00:04:38.14\00:04:41.07 shed that characteristic of God. Right. 00:04:41.10\00:04:44.74 But I think the best way that I can explain 00:04:44.77\00:04:46.70 God's character is to go to Exodus 33, 00:04:46.73\00:04:49.89 when I hear God's character I think of Exodus 33. Okay. 00:04:49.92\00:04:52.93 And so let's go to Exodus 33, 00:04:52.96\00:04:56.89 and we will read there a clear explanation. 00:04:56.92\00:05:03.97 A clear iteration from God Himself 00:05:04.00\00:05:06.35 as to the nature of His character. 00:05:06.38\00:05:08.92 Who He is? What verse? 00:05:08.95\00:05:11.05 And we're going to start here with verse 18. Okay. 00:05:11.08\00:05:14.41 Just to give you some context here, 00:05:14.44\00:05:16.84 Moses is on the mountain, on Mount Sinai with God 00:05:16.87\00:05:21.50 and he's been conversing with God. 00:05:21.53\00:05:24.49 And he says here in verse 18, "Please show me your glory." 00:05:24.52\00:05:29.70 Moses is asking to see God's glory. 00:05:29.73\00:05:33.26 Then he said and this is the Lord responding to Moses, 00:05:33.29\00:05:36.65 "I will make all my goodness pass before you. 00:05:36.68\00:05:40.39 And I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you, 00:05:40.42\00:05:44.31 I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, 00:05:44.34\00:05:47.27 I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion," 00:05:47.30\00:05:50.86 but he said, "you cannot see my face, 00:05:50.89\00:05:53.83 for no man shall see me and live." Okay? 00:05:53.86\00:05:57.84 So then he hides Moses in the cleft of the rock, 00:05:57.87\00:06:00.76 from seeing Him face to face, 00:06:00.79\00:06:02.28 so we can see His backside 00:06:02.31\00:06:03.68 as He goes by him to reveal His glory. 00:06:03.71\00:06:07.25 So we see here, on Mount Sinai 00:06:07.28\00:06:10.70 and this is the place that also Moses received 00:06:10.73\00:06:12.75 the Ten Commandment cut out with stone, 00:06:12.78\00:06:15.81 written by the finger of God. 00:06:15.84\00:06:17.37 We see here God saying to Moses, 00:06:17.40\00:06:19.61 "I'm going to show you My glory." 00:06:19.64\00:06:21.79 So what happens to reveal God's glory? 00:06:21.82\00:06:24.91 What does He do as he passes by Moses? 00:06:24.94\00:06:27.57 Well, you'll see in Chapter 34 verse 1, 00:06:27.60\00:06:31.01 it says, "Moses cut two tablets of stone 00:06:31.04\00:06:33.65 like the first ones and I will write 00:06:33.68\00:06:35.05 on these tablets the words 00:06:35.08\00:06:36.45 that were on the first tablets which you broke." 00:06:36.48\00:06:38.63 So this is his second visit. 00:06:38.66\00:06:40.19 Remember what happened after the first one John. 00:06:40.22\00:06:42.36 What did Moses do with those tablets 00:06:42.39\00:06:43.76 when he saw the golden calf? He threw them down. 00:06:43.79\00:06:46.59 He threw them down and broke them 00:06:46.62\00:06:47.99 because that was symbolic in Moses' own mind 00:06:48.02\00:06:50.53 of the breaking of the covenant already. That's right. 00:06:50.56\00:06:52.90 Because the people, if you remember in Exodus 20 00:06:52.93\00:06:55.72 he said, listen all that God says we will do, 00:06:55.75\00:06:58.02 when God thundered the Ten Commandments 00:06:58.05\00:06:59.47 from Mount Sinai and they were 00:06:59.50\00:07:00.87 at the base of the mountain observing. 00:07:00.90\00:07:02.67 All that he says they'll do and then of course 00:07:02.70\00:07:04.95 Moses goes up gets the Ten Commandments, 00:07:04.98\00:07:06.67 he comes down sees that they broke 00:07:06.70\00:07:08.55 the commandments, he breaks them. 00:07:08.58\00:07:09.95 So now here's the second set 00:07:09.98\00:07:11.35 that God is going to give to Moses. 00:07:11.38\00:07:14.01 But now we see what God does 00:07:14.04\00:07:16.59 as He's delivering these Ten Commandments, 00:07:16.62\00:07:18.90 verse 5 of chapter 34, 00:07:18.93\00:07:20.93 "Now the Lord descended in the cloud 00:07:20.96\00:07:23.26 and stood with him there, that is with Moses 00:07:23.29\00:07:25.67 and proclaimed the name of the Lord." 00:07:25.70\00:07:27.51 So He's responding, 00:07:27.54\00:07:28.91 He's doing now what He said 00:07:28.94\00:07:30.31 He would do to show His glory. Right. 00:07:30.34\00:07:31.86 Verse 6, "And the Lord passed before him 00:07:31.89\00:07:34.22 and proclaimed the Lord, the Lord God 00:07:34.25\00:07:37.52 merciful and gracious long suffering, 00:07:37.55\00:07:40.75 in other words, patient and abounding 00:07:40.78\00:07:43.26 in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, 00:07:43.29\00:07:46.98 forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin." 00:07:47.01\00:07:50.26 Now, let's pause there. Doesn't that sound like Jesus? 00:07:50.29\00:07:53.75 That is totally Jesus. 00:07:53.78\00:07:55.45 That it sounds just like Jesus. 00:07:55.48\00:07:57.28 Right. You know what? 00:07:57.31\00:07:58.68 It was Jesus. That's exactly right. 00:07:58.71\00:08:00.62 The God of the Old Testament was Jesus prior to being 00:08:00.65\00:08:03.70 Jesus in physical form on this earth. That's right. 00:08:03.73\00:08:06.40 And so Jesus gave His Ten Commandments 00:08:06.43\00:08:09.23 and as He did that He proclaimed His name, 00:08:09.26\00:08:11.72 His goodness to Moses. 00:08:11.75\00:08:14.22 This is Jesus. That's right. 00:08:14.25\00:08:17.04 And Jesus manifested this character 00:08:17.07\00:08:19.71 while He was here on this earth, 00:08:19.74\00:08:21.73 and we read it about in the four gospels. 00:08:21.76\00:08:26.13 But now let's go further. 00:08:26.16\00:08:27.53 We like to stop there sometimes, 00:08:27.56\00:08:28.93 but let's go further because this is still Jesus speaking. 00:08:28.96\00:08:32.85 It says, "By no means clearing the guilty. 00:08:32.88\00:08:37.88 Visiting the iniquity of the Father 00:08:37.91\00:08:40.08 is upon the children and the children's children 00:08:40.11\00:08:42.77 to the third and the fourth generation. 00:08:42.80\00:08:45.23 And what did Moses do? 00:08:45.26\00:08:47.34 He made haste and bowed his head 00:08:47.37\00:08:49.46 toward the earth and he worshiped. 00:08:49.49\00:08:51.40 I have found grace in your sight, 00:08:51.43\00:08:53.34 he says if I have found grace in sight, 00:08:53.37\00:08:55.23 Oh, Lord, let my Lord I pray go among us 00:08:55.26\00:08:58.47 even though we are stiff necked people 00:08:58.50\00:09:00.57 and pardon our iniquity and our sin 00:09:00.60\00:09:02.54 and take us as your inheritance." 00:09:02.57\00:09:04.47 Now, you know what's interesting here, John. 00:09:04.50\00:09:08.50 God, Christ really before He came to this earth 00:09:08.53\00:09:13.08 to die for us, declareth His name 00:09:13.11\00:09:16.79 and talks about His graciousness, 00:09:16.82\00:09:18.22 His long suffering, His patience. 00:09:18.25\00:09:19.71 And the other side of the equation, 00:09:19.74\00:09:22.00 His justice. That's right. 00:09:22.03\00:09:23.59 He won't just clear the guilty, 00:09:23.62\00:09:24.99 He will meet out punishment and ultimate demise 00:09:25.02\00:09:29.51 for those who hold on to their sin and refused 00:09:29.54\00:09:32.52 to accept His gracious offering of forgiveness. 00:09:32.55\00:09:35.36 But notice when Moses heard this, 00:09:35.39\00:09:39.06 Moses didn't say "Oh, well, in that case 00:09:39.09\00:09:41.02 I'm going to stay away from you Lord." 00:09:41.05\00:09:42.94 No. He wasn't afraid of the fact 00:09:42.97\00:09:44.83 that God was just as well as He was merciful. 00:09:44.86\00:09:47.37 No, not at all. 00:09:47.40\00:09:48.77 He said, "we want you to come among us, dwell with us. 00:09:48.80\00:09:52.30 I know we're stiff necked, 00:09:52.33\00:09:53.70 I know we're a problem to you sometimes, 00:09:53.73\00:09:56.04 but we want you with us." 00:09:56.07\00:09:58.40 You see people always wanted to be with Jesus, 00:09:58.43\00:10:01.09 because of how gracious and loving He was. 00:10:01.12\00:10:03.48 But then Jesus is also a God of justice 00:10:03.51\00:10:06.45 and how do we know that because He died on the cross. 00:10:06.48\00:10:09.23 If God was not a God of justice, 00:10:09.26\00:10:11.30 Jesus would not have died on the cross 00:10:11.33\00:10:13.05 to pay the penalty for the sin of you and me. 00:10:13.08\00:10:16.30 If He could have just changed his lawns, 00:10:16.33\00:10:18.09 and you know what, it's all about just forgiveness. 00:10:18.12\00:10:20.46 He would have come down, given that message and said, 00:10:20.49\00:10:22.50 "Now I'm going back to heaven" 00:10:22.53\00:10:23.90 the cross would never have happened, 00:10:23.93\00:10:25.66 because He could have excused sin. 00:10:25.69\00:10:28.22 But God can't excuse sins, Jesus can't excuse sin. 00:10:28.25\00:10:31.26 He said, "If you love me, keep My commandments." 00:10:31.29\00:10:33.71 He talked about the ultimate punishment of the wicked. 00:10:33.74\00:10:36.44 Jesus spoke about all these things. 00:10:36.47\00:10:38.91 But yet we want to divorce Him and separate Him from 00:10:38.94\00:10:41.55 the God of the Old Testament is the same God. 00:10:41.58\00:10:43.69 We can't. Right. 00:10:43.72\00:10:45.13 So you might ask, "Well, what was God doing then 00:10:45.16\00:10:47.61 when He said to the Israelites go in and destroy them all." 00:10:47.64\00:10:51.52 I would venture to say, 00:10:51.55\00:10:53.08 you would not allow your children to be around someone 00:10:53.11\00:10:55.82 who would corrupt and destroy your lives. 00:10:55.85\00:10:57.83 And the only way they were going to set up 00:10:57.86\00:11:00.24 a place for them to exist in safety 00:11:00.27\00:11:02.50 and under the protective banner of their God, 00:11:02.53\00:11:06.25 is to destroy the nations that were there. 00:11:06.28\00:11:08.54 What do I say about those nations? 00:11:08.57\00:11:09.94 If you read about what their practices were, 00:11:09.97\00:11:12.68 they were corrupt beyond belief. 00:11:12.71\00:11:14.18 They were sacrificing their children in the fire. 00:11:14.21\00:11:16.36 Right. They were burning them. 00:11:16.39\00:11:18.38 They were doing horrific things 00:11:18.41\00:11:20.35 in the name of, their worship of Satan 00:11:20.38\00:11:23.03 and so when we see that picture you might say, 00:11:23.06\00:11:27.13 well, you know, what God was being very protective here 00:11:27.16\00:11:29.52 to make sure that the Israelites weren't going to be-- 00:11:29.55\00:11:32.93 not only worshipping or doing the same things, 00:11:32.96\00:11:34.99 but making sure the Israelites 00:11:35.02\00:11:36.39 were going to fall into their hands 00:11:36.42\00:11:38.29 and he was protective of them. 00:11:38.32\00:11:40.23 So He said, "I will give you power to wipe them out." 00:11:40.26\00:11:43.76 And in fact what God was doing there, John 00:11:43.79\00:11:45.39 Was He was judging them early. 00:11:45.42\00:11:48.18 He was judging them in advance of the ultimate judgment 00:11:48.21\00:11:51.01 at the end of the world. Right, he saw it. 00:11:51.04\00:11:52.94 And he saw what as coming. If he did not do that, 00:11:52.97\00:11:55.20 he could not have protected and cared for his children 00:11:55.23\00:11:57.85 as he knew he needed to do to get them through 00:11:57.88\00:12:00.71 to be the people that he wanted them to be. 00:12:00.74\00:12:03.53 And we wouldn't want anything less for our children. 00:12:03.56\00:12:05.99 What do we do to rapists and murderers and others? 00:12:06.02\00:12:09.27 I mean life sentences sometimes, 00:12:09.30\00:12:11.29 even the death penalty sometimes, 00:12:11.32\00:12:12.71 but we make sure that they are kept from harming those 00:12:12.74\00:12:15.73 who they would harm if we-- if we didn't protect our kids. 00:12:15.76\00:12:19.31 Right, those who are not responsive 00:12:19.34\00:12:20.71 to the redemptive judgments of God, 00:12:20.74\00:12:23.28 will receive the punitive judgments of God. 00:12:23.31\00:12:26.99 And you find here-- 00:12:27.02\00:12:28.39 Break that down, because that's important 00:12:28.42\00:12:29.88 you use two words. 00:12:29.91\00:12:31.28 Right, redemptive and-- Redemptive and punitive. 00:12:31.31\00:12:32.73 And the redemptive, see God, 00:12:32.76\00:12:34.28 His mercy and His message of salvation 00:12:34.31\00:12:37.06 as is today is open to everyone, 00:12:37.09\00:12:39.91 but the message that people sometimes preach 00:12:39.94\00:12:42.50 that everybody is going to be saved 00:12:42.53\00:12:44.08 and there are some people that for whatever reason 00:12:44.11\00:12:45.86 I don't know that doctrine comes out of the woodworks 00:12:45.89\00:12:47.60 that God will never destroy anybody, 00:12:47.63\00:12:49.62 everybody is going to be saved 00:12:49.65\00:12:51.55 and now we have this secular mindset 00:12:51.58\00:12:53.83 that no matter what you do, 00:12:53.86\00:12:55.30 it doesn't really come to the point of judgment. 00:12:55.33\00:12:57.64 When you look at the God of the Old Testament, 00:12:57.67\00:12:59.60 you also find-- and this is a strange thing John 00:12:59.63\00:13:02.06 you don't find the lake of fire in the Old Testament. 00:13:02.09\00:13:05.31 You find it only in the New Testament. 00:13:05.34\00:13:07.93 You don't find hell 00:13:07.96\00:13:09.66 where the final judgment is going to be carried out. 00:13:09.69\00:13:12.76 In the Old Testament the lake of fire is not burning 00:13:12.79\00:13:17.74 or not even stored up 00:13:17.77\00:13:19.64 or in action I should say in the Old Testament, 00:13:19.67\00:13:22.12 it is reserved for judgment in the New Testament. 00:13:22.15\00:13:25.40 So this whole ideology about God being 00:13:25.43\00:13:27.99 loving and kind and He's also just 00:13:28.02\00:13:30.81 and He's a God of justice and judgment. 00:13:30.84\00:13:34.73 In order to be loving and kind to your children, 00:13:34.76\00:13:37.43 you have to establish justice and judgment. 00:13:37.46\00:13:41.25 For people that are just wanting to have a good time, 00:13:41.28\00:13:44.11 you can't really enjoy your life without parameters 00:13:44.14\00:13:47.61 that guide the pleasure of the safety of your life, 00:13:47.64\00:13:51.48 for the safety of the pleasures of your life. 00:13:51.51\00:13:53.47 The one thing that reflects on the justice and judgment 00:13:53.50\00:13:57.28 and love and care of God is the fact 00:13:57.31\00:13:59.07 that when he said to the children of Israel, 00:13:59.10\00:14:01.40 go and spare none young, old, 00:14:01.43\00:14:04.26 men, women, children wipe them out, 00:14:04.29\00:14:06.82 he was able to declare the end from the beginning 00:14:06.85\00:14:11.23 and from ancient times things that didn't even happen. 00:14:11.26\00:14:14.48 And so what God does, 00:14:14.51\00:14:15.88 He has a sovereignty that sees way beyond, 00:14:15.91\00:14:18.48 He sees over the hill, down the mountain, 00:14:18.51\00:14:19.97 around the valley in the corner 00:14:20.00\00:14:21.61 before we even start the journey. 00:14:21.64\00:14:23.14 So this is exactly what that is talking about. 00:14:23.17\00:14:26.36 How could God be the one that wipes out 00:14:26.39\00:14:29.74 and destroys and obliterates and judges, 00:14:29.77\00:14:34.22 that's exactly who He is. 00:14:34.25\00:14:35.88 You know, I hear somebody saying John, 00:14:35.91\00:14:37.51 you know you said Jesus was the God of the Old Testament 00:14:37.54\00:14:40.13 and where did you find that from. 00:14:40.16\00:14:43.02 Jesus says, "I am that I am." 00:14:43.05\00:14:45.65 The I am met Moses at the burning bush. 00:14:45.68\00:14:48.13 That was the base of Mount Sinai. That's right. 00:14:48.16\00:14:50.59 The same mountain that he came back 00:14:50.62\00:14:52.48 and gave Moses the Ten Commandments 00:14:52.51\00:14:53.88 to 40 plus years later. 00:14:53.91\00:14:56.72 Or no, actually it was that four years 00:14:56.75\00:14:58.60 actually that he was there with his father Jethro, 00:14:58.63\00:15:00.56 but still they came back after delivering the Israelites 00:15:00.59\00:15:04.07 from Egypt back to that same mountain 00:15:04.10\00:15:06.56 where God Jesus delivered the Ten Commandments again. 00:15:06.59\00:15:09.76 So you can't disconnect that. 00:15:09.79\00:15:11.69 No you can't. But one of the things-- 00:15:11.72\00:15:13.24 And by the way, just don't lose that point 00:15:13.27\00:15:14.64 because Jesus also said to the Jews 00:15:14.67\00:15:16.09 in the New Testament before Abraham was I am. 00:15:16.12\00:15:18.62 He made him very, very clear. That's right. I am. 00:15:18.65\00:15:21.64 And when Moses said well who send me say, 00:15:21.67\00:15:23.43 "I am sent you." Yeah. See, so there. 00:15:23.46\00:15:26.05 Yeah. Now here's the thing from the book of Jude, 00:15:26.08\00:15:28.82 it says in verse 7, "Sodom and Gomorrah 00:15:28.85\00:15:31.41 and the cities around them in the similar manner 00:15:31.44\00:15:35.12 to these having themselves over-- 00:15:35.15\00:15:37.32 having given themselves over to sexual immorality 00:15:37.35\00:15:39.60 and gone after strange flesh." Notice their practices. 00:15:39.63\00:15:42.84 "That they are set forth as an example 00:15:42.87\00:15:45.99 suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." 00:15:46.02\00:15:49.00 They were the example of what fire or the lake of fire. 00:15:49.03\00:15:53.98 An example, not that there fire continued to, you know, 00:15:54.01\00:15:57.96 burn after they were destroyed. Destroyed. 00:15:57.99\00:16:00.95 But that the destruction of those cities 00:16:00.98\00:16:03.58 and other nations that even the Israelites wanting 00:16:03.61\00:16:06.16 to destroy were an example 00:16:06.19\00:16:08.62 of what God would again do at the end of time. 00:16:08.65\00:16:11.65 So you hear you have God doing the same thing 00:16:11.68\00:16:14.17 then that He's going to do at the end of time. 00:16:14.20\00:16:16.33 But one is an example, 00:16:16.36\00:16:17.73 one is going to be the actual fire. Right. 00:16:17.76\00:16:19.96 The eternal fire that burns all the wicked up. 00:16:19.99\00:16:22.50 So we're seeing the same practice 00:16:22.53\00:16:25.51 in the Old and New Testament, is just understanding it. 00:16:25.54\00:16:29.08 And so don't listen to someone who wants to separate 00:16:29.11\00:16:32.38 the God of the New from the God of the Old. 00:16:32.41\00:16:34.37 It is the same God and these are harmonious. 00:16:34.40\00:16:37.74 It is the whole picture that we find in all of scripture 00:16:37.77\00:16:41.41 to help us understand God's nature. 00:16:41.44\00:16:43.26 Yes, you brought out a very good parallel there. 00:16:43.29\00:16:46.92 I hadn't heard you say that before, 00:16:46.95\00:16:48.32 but then again I do miss things 00:16:48.35\00:16:50.15 even though my ears are large. 00:16:50.18\00:16:54.52 Verse 7 of Jude it says, "This fire that came down 00:16:54.55\00:16:58.94 on Sodom and Gomorrah was an example-- 00:16:58.97\00:17:01.70 Example? Of what's going to happen afterwards." Right. 00:17:01.73\00:17:04.65 And who was the one that brought this fire down? 00:17:04.68\00:17:06.78 God. That's right. 00:17:06.81\00:17:08.18 Now you find there's no separation 00:17:08.21\00:17:10.46 and even though the Bible speaks of 00:17:10.49\00:17:13.50 "let us make man in our image" 00:17:13.53\00:17:15.79 the very expressed image Jesus says in Colossians 00:17:15.82\00:17:20.33 "He's the expressed image of the Father." 00:17:20.36\00:17:23.16 Everything that the Father believes and teaches 00:17:23.19\00:17:25.26 and holds dear Jesus does. 00:17:25.29\00:17:27.60 And so He even said to His disciples 00:17:27.63\00:17:29.29 "Have I been with you so long 00:17:29.32\00:17:30.69 that you have not seen the Father." 00:17:30.72\00:17:32.19 So Jesus is not acting out of harmony with His Father. 00:17:32.22\00:17:36.19 He's not doing something that 00:17:36.22\00:17:37.62 "Well, I like my Father to do that, but I'm-- 00:17:37.65\00:17:40.18 since He doesn't do, I'll go ahead and do it." 00:17:40.21\00:17:42.22 That--there's no division here at all. 00:17:42.25\00:17:45.23 They are al in harmony. 00:17:45.26\00:17:47.24 But people will point out that there are isolated verses 00:17:47.27\00:17:51.60 in the Bible that make it appear as though 00:17:51.63\00:17:53.00 "well, I'm so glad that, that God is not the same God today, 00:17:53.03\00:17:57.34 because we haven't analyzed this so far. Okay. 00:17:57.37\00:18:00.41 You know, there would be a lot of dead folk in church nowadays. 00:18:00.44\00:18:02.89 Yeah, I may think about that. 00:18:02.92\00:18:04.29 I mean in the church in essence of sapphire light 00:18:04.32\00:18:07.57 of the Lord. That's right. 00:18:07.60\00:18:09.13 And what happened to them 00:18:09.16\00:18:10.53 when they came into the presence of God, 00:18:10.56\00:18:11.93 into His place of worship, the light hit him, 00:18:11.96\00:18:14.98 he was struck dead right there. 00:18:15.01\00:18:17.03 And so you see judgment then upon their life 00:18:17.06\00:18:19.94 at that point serve as an example for others 00:18:19.97\00:18:22.40 so that they wouldn't repeat that. That's right. 00:18:22.43\00:18:24.27 That's the example that we find 00:18:24.30\00:18:26.08 of what happened to the nations before. 00:18:26.11\00:18:27.97 You practice you live and you practice like them, 00:18:28.00\00:18:30.08 ultimately you will end up like them. 00:18:30.11\00:18:31.95 We cannot skip that. 00:18:31.98\00:18:33.37 So this is what he was doing and he was setting an example 00:18:33.40\00:18:36.79 and he used the Israelites to do that in Canaan. 00:18:36.82\00:18:40.35 Well, thank you John, 00:18:40.38\00:18:41.94 that's a good one, I appreciate that. 00:18:41.97\00:18:44.00 Another one from a young man, 15 years old. 00:18:44.03\00:18:47.57 His name is Malique. My name is Malique. 00:18:47.60\00:18:50.74 I am 15-years-old and he says where he lives. 00:18:50.77\00:18:53.45 I was talking to some of my friends at school 00:18:53.48\00:18:56.09 and they claimed that we should have sex now at this age. 00:18:56.12\00:19:00.41 I told them that the Bible says 00:19:00.44\00:19:02.35 we are not to have sex before marriage 00:19:02.38\00:19:04.65 for I go to a Christian school. 00:19:04.68\00:19:06.67 However, I was not able to give them or tell them 00:19:06.70\00:19:09.94 exactly where the Bible says not to have sex before marriage. 00:19:09.97\00:19:14.00 I'm asking you would you please show me 00:19:14.03\00:19:17.24 where the Bible says that sex before marriage is wrong, 00:19:17.27\00:19:20.10 so that I'll be able to show it to my friends at school 00:19:20.13\00:19:23.14 the next time we come across this subject. 00:19:23.17\00:19:25.70 Okay, that's it. That's very good. 00:19:25.73\00:19:28.77 Because some young people nowadays 00:19:28.80\00:19:30.81 or young people in general they just bend to peer pressure. 00:19:30.84\00:19:33.89 But thank you Malique, for that question 00:19:33.92\00:19:36.56 because young people need to know that nowadays 00:19:36.59\00:19:38.97 besides all the bad things that happen 00:19:39.00\00:19:40.55 and there's sexually transmitted diseases 00:19:40.58\00:19:42.20 and the guilt and the loss of one's purity 00:19:42.23\00:19:45.24 and just not preserving that special gift 00:19:45.27\00:19:48.75 that God reserves for marriage 00:19:48.78\00:19:50.47 is all the reasons that I could cite that we shouldn't. 00:19:50.50\00:19:54.03 But let me go ahead and give you the Bible verses. 00:19:54.06\00:19:55.77 There are lots of them by the way. 00:19:55.80\00:19:57.31 When you think of the word, 00:19:57.34\00:19:58.96 the Bible uses two words in particular, 00:19:58.99\00:20:02.75 you have the broad words sexually, 00:20:02.78\00:20:04.99 the broad phrase sexual immorality. 00:20:05.02\00:20:08.43 You have the other phrase that is very indicative 00:20:08.46\00:20:11.32 of what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah strange flesh. 00:20:11.35\00:20:15.23 Men with men, women with women. 00:20:15.26\00:20:16.79 That's way beyond the confines 00:20:16.82\00:20:18.74 as whether they're married or not. 00:20:18.77\00:20:20.14 I mean, this is, it doesn't really-- 00:20:20.17\00:20:21.88 marriage doesn't even make that right. 00:20:21.91\00:20:24.05 So I want to make that very, very clear 00:20:24.08\00:20:25.50 because some people think nowadays the new thing is-- 00:20:25.53\00:20:27.54 well, if we get married I guess its okay. 00:20:27.57\00:20:29.28 You know, what amazes me 00:20:29.31\00:20:30.68 is those who don't acknowledge God 00:20:30.71\00:20:33.18 believe that they have to get married 00:20:33.21\00:20:34.58 to make it right, anyway strange. 00:20:34.61\00:20:37.69 You can't, there are certain things cannot be made right 00:20:37.72\00:20:39.70 whether the marriage is in the equation or not 00:20:39.73\00:20:42.37 and that is men with men and women with women 00:20:42.40\00:20:44.41 cannot be made better by marriage. 00:20:44.44\00:20:46.27 But give you a couple of passages 00:20:46.30\00:20:48.97 one here is First Corinthians 6:18, 00:20:49.00\00:20:52.16 it says, "Flee sexual immorality." 00:20:52.19\00:20:55.24 Flee it, in other words run from it. 00:20:55.27\00:20:57.87 "Every sin that a man does is outside the body, 00:20:57.90\00:21:01.60 but he who commits sexual immorality 00:21:01.63\00:21:04.81 sins against his own body." 00:21:04.84\00:21:06.21 What a lot of people don't understand 00:21:06.24\00:21:07.90 is when two people are joined together in a sexual situation 00:21:07.93\00:21:12.59 that the reason why the Bible indicated that 00:21:12.62\00:21:15.52 that should happen before marriage 00:21:15.55\00:21:16.92 is because they become one, 00:21:16.95\00:21:18.46 they become one in a lot of ways. 00:21:18.49\00:21:20.71 And first in God's sight they are one, 00:21:20.74\00:21:22.29 that's a blessed and sanctified union, 00:21:22.32\00:21:25.00 that's the most important aspect of it, 00:21:25.03\00:21:26.95 that is for man and woman in their marriage. 00:21:26.98\00:21:29.52 Once again not woman with woman not man with man. 00:21:29.55\00:21:32.19 That's ordain by God 00:21:32.22\00:21:34.11 from the very beginning Adam and Eve. 00:21:34.14\00:21:36.35 Don't want to be cynical and say, 00:21:36.38\00:21:38.06 Adam and Steve because that's I don't want 00:21:38.09\00:21:40.21 to take this lightly. 00:21:40.24\00:21:41.61 Very serious approach when it comes to what God 00:21:41.64\00:21:43.53 has established from the very beginning. 00:21:43.56\00:21:45.11 But you find the immorality is when God's blessing 00:21:45.14\00:21:50.21 is not bestowed upon that relationship 00:21:50.24\00:21:54.74 and the blessing of God is withheld 00:21:54.77\00:21:56.49 when they are not married. 00:21:56.52\00:21:58.88 To give you even further evidence of that, 00:21:58.91\00:22:00.83 First Corinthians 7, verses 8 and 9. 00:22:00.86\00:22:04.82 And let me read verse 2 first of all 00:22:04.85\00:22:08.75 because First Corinthians 7 deals with this quite a bit. 00:22:08.78\00:22:11.73 It says in verse 2, "Nevertheless, 00:22:11.76\00:22:14.90 because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, 00:22:14.93\00:22:21.40 and let each woman have her own husband." 00:22:21.43\00:22:24.95 See, his own wife, her own husband 00:22:24.98\00:22:28.35 to avoid sexual immorality. 00:22:28.38\00:22:31.48 Why is it saying man and woman, woman and man. 00:22:31.51\00:22:34.06 Its because that's what exactly what happens 00:22:34.09\00:22:35.74 when people come together in a non married format 00:22:35.77\00:22:39.25 man with woman and woman with man 00:22:39.28\00:22:42.65 is immoral outside of being married, 00:22:42.68\00:22:46.20 that's why he uses the word husband and wife. 00:22:46.23\00:22:50.08 Those terms are only applicable in the confines of marriage. 00:22:50.11\00:22:54.17 So that's a very powerful verse. 00:22:54.20\00:22:55.80 And then it goes to verse 8 and 9. 00:22:55.83\00:22:58.03 "But I say to the unmarried and to the widows 00:22:58.06\00:23:01.80 It is good for them if they remain even as I am." 00:23:01.83\00:23:06.30 In other words, unmarried. Paul was. 00:23:06.33\00:23:08.69 But, verse 9, "But if they cannot exercise 00:23:08.72\00:23:11.87 self-control, let them marry. 00:23:11.90\00:23:15.01 For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." 00:23:15.04\00:23:19.75 And the phrase with passion was added 00:23:19.78\00:23:22.76 because it was simply, 00:23:22.79\00:23:24.16 its better to marry than to burn, 00:23:24.19\00:23:26.26 and the burning there is as the Bible says, 00:23:26.29\00:23:28.80 burned in their lust. 00:23:28.83\00:23:30.87 And that's exactly what you must avoid. 00:23:30.90\00:23:32.90 John, we find today 00:23:32.93\00:23:35.29 and thank you, Malique, for the question. 00:23:35.32\00:23:36.93 So the key is God has established a way whereby 00:23:36.96\00:23:40.44 marriage is the-- marriage bed 00:23:40.47\00:23:44.07 as the Bible says, is undefiled. 00:23:44.10\00:23:46.59 But the bed where sexual practices occur 00:23:46.62\00:23:49.98 where they are not married it is defiled, 00:23:50.01\00:23:53.83 that mean it's not clean, it is corrupt, 00:23:53.86\00:23:56.35 it is immoral, it is not pure. 00:23:56.38\00:23:58.67 So you want to avoid that. 00:23:58.70\00:24:00.11 And lastly the council to the young and the unmarried, 00:24:00.14\00:24:03.76 we could avoid so much sorrow, so much grief. 00:24:03.79\00:24:07.61 Let me talk about the millions of young people 00:24:07.64\00:24:10.31 that are having babies outside of the confines of marriage, 00:24:10.34\00:24:13.47 that alone is a plight to the family. 00:24:13.50\00:24:16.78 And I'd say this in the context of the fact 00:24:16.81\00:24:20.07 that I was conceived outside of marriage. 00:24:20.10\00:24:22.56 My mom and dad were not married, 00:24:22.59\00:24:24.06 but God turn to thing that was not done 00:24:24.09\00:24:26.94 with His blessing into a tremendous blessing, 00:24:26.97\00:24:29.01 because here I am, a child of God nonetheless. 00:24:29.04\00:24:32.44 My point is, God does not authorize 00:24:32.47\00:24:35.11 sex outside of marriage, 00:24:35.14\00:24:36.78 but the birth of a child is a blessing nonetheless. 00:24:36.81\00:24:40.84 You have to keep that in mind, 00:24:40.87\00:24:42.24 because these are terrible term John, 00:24:42.27\00:24:44.37 which I won't use on the air, 00:24:44.40\00:24:45.77 I'll use the term illegitimate 00:24:45.80\00:24:47.17 because another more worldly term use. 00:24:47.20\00:24:49.81 The child is not illegitimate, the parents are illegitimate, 00:24:49.84\00:24:54.52 because what they have done was not legitimized by God, 00:24:54.55\00:24:57.32 yet the birth of the child is a blessing to all humanity 00:24:57.35\00:25:02.03 when God steps in as He did in my case 00:25:02.06\00:25:05.33 and directs the child's life. 00:25:05.36\00:25:07.85 So not only that the sexually transmitted disease, 00:25:07.88\00:25:12.64 that's another thing 00:25:12.67\00:25:14.04 and the list goes on and on and on and on. 00:25:14.07\00:25:16.05 And young ladies who after the guy has had his way 00:25:16.08\00:25:20.20 they move on and you know, I would say to young men, 00:25:20.23\00:25:23.53 treat a young lady that you're dating 00:25:23.56\00:25:25.58 as you would treat your sister. 00:25:25.61\00:25:27.45 And I hope that what that means 00:25:27.48\00:25:30.87 is you love your sister in a godly way, 00:25:30.90\00:25:33.09 that you honor your sister 00:25:33.12\00:25:34.72 you wouldn't do anything terrible to her, 00:25:34.75\00:25:37.06 you don't beat her up, you don't use profane language, 00:25:37.09\00:25:40.28 you honor your sister 00:25:40.31\00:25:41.68 as a Christian young man would honor his sister, 00:25:41.71\00:25:44.53 that's the context of that. 00:25:44.56\00:25:45.93 But, John, you want to add to that? 00:25:45.96\00:25:47.52 No, I think you covered it pretty well. 00:25:47.55\00:25:49.95 There are several aspects 00:25:49.98\00:25:51.35 sexual immorality you talked about 00:25:51.38\00:25:52.75 its being inclusive of all the different kinds of things 00:25:52.78\00:25:56.54 that happen within that. 00:25:56.57\00:25:58.02 Bible uses the term adulterer, fornicator, you know-- 00:25:58.05\00:26:04.08 Sexual immorality. 00:26:04.11\00:26:05.48 Strange flesh, these are the things 00:26:05.51\00:26:07.15 all fit within that sexual immorality umbrella. 00:26:07.18\00:26:10.36 And so that when the Bible was saying in the Ten Commandments 00:26:10.39\00:26:14.18 thou shall not commit adultery. Right. 00:26:14.21\00:26:16.16 It's not just referring to somebody that's married 00:26:16.19\00:26:19.80 having sex outside of the marriage, 00:26:19.83\00:26:21.20 its also referring to those that are not married, 00:26:21.23\00:26:23.13 to a degree, its all inclusive 00:26:23.16\00:26:25.62 of the sexual immorality umbrella that we have. 00:26:25.65\00:26:29.50 And so you want to maintain the purity. 00:26:29.53\00:26:32.27 Let me tell you why? 00:26:32.30\00:26:33.67 I'd say these young people that are, you know, 00:26:33.70\00:26:36.02 they are just under the pressures 00:26:36.05\00:26:37.42 of the modern world, 00:26:37.45\00:26:39.02 you know, there are lots of people that are-- 00:26:39.05\00:26:40.55 they admire the rock stars and the musicians and the actors 00:26:40.58\00:26:44.85 and the people that are on television all the time 00:26:44.88\00:26:47.13 and they are talking about the many kids, 00:26:47.16\00:26:48.53 and somebody says, well, you know, 00:26:48.56\00:26:50.08 did you know that, I'm not gonna mention names, 00:26:50.11\00:26:52.32 did you know that that song, that person has sing this song, 00:26:52.35\00:26:54.65 she just had a baby with this other star, 00:26:54.68\00:26:56.26 but they're not married. 00:26:56.29\00:26:57.89 And they talk about the baby and they have-- 00:26:57.92\00:26:59.74 you know, people say, 00:26:59.77\00:27:01.14 I want to be like that guy or that girl 00:27:01.17\00:27:02.54 that my favorite actor, my favorite singer. 00:27:02.57\00:27:04.40 And we become so distorted in our minds, 00:27:04.43\00:27:07.86 because we are following a practice that is pushing us 00:27:07.89\00:27:11.00 to this what we call popular immorality. 00:27:11.03\00:27:14.46 You know, they want to be like somebody, 00:27:14.49\00:27:16.76 but it's immoral just the same. 00:27:16.79\00:27:18.19 So no matter who you follow, 00:27:18.22\00:27:20.20 if you're not following the Lord, 00:27:20.23\00:27:21.80 if you're not following His word, 00:27:21.83\00:27:23.79 then it's not something that you should participate in. 00:27:23.82\00:27:26.60 Keep yourself pure, 00:27:26.63\00:27:28.00 because there is nothing like waiting till Christmas 00:27:28.03\00:27:30.79 to open your Christmas gifts 00:27:30.82\00:27:32.60 when you get old you understand exactly what I mean. 00:27:32.63\00:27:34.68 Okay, that's a metaphor, what do you say? All right. 00:27:34.71\00:27:38.03 Well, thank you for your Bible questions 00:27:38.06\00:27:41.77 and your comments and all the things 00:27:41.80\00:27:43.48 that you do to make this program successful. 00:27:43.51\00:27:45.23 Anymore questions you have you can send those 00:27:45.26\00:27:47.54 to this email address, housecalls@3abn.org, 00:27:47.57\00:27:51.51 that's 3abn.org that means organization. 00:27:51.54\00:27:55.60 Thank you, so much. 00:27:55.63\00:27:57.15 Now we talked about, 00:27:57.18\00:27:58.84 I think the last thing we did about Babylon, 00:27:58.87\00:28:01.60 we were in Daniel 3 and-- 00:28:01.63\00:28:04.44 we just want to emphasis that a little bit more 00:28:04.47\00:28:06.25 after we finish the program we said, 00:28:06.28\00:28:07.65 we want to go back to that plain of Dura setting 00:28:07.68\00:28:10.72 and finish identify what was happening there while we can-- 00:28:10.75\00:28:16.02 But we also talked about going into the women, 00:28:16.05\00:28:18.95 spiritual Babylon being represented as a woman. 00:28:18.98\00:28:22.13 Okay, that's right. That's the other aspect. 00:28:22.16\00:28:23.53 that's the place where we start a transition to, 00:28:23.56\00:28:25.64 we talked about Chapter 3, we talked about Chapter 5, 00:28:25.67\00:28:30.56 you know, using the things of the Lord 00:28:30.59\00:28:32.45 that were the holy things of God for worship 00:28:32.48\00:28:35.83 that was Pagan in origin. 00:28:35.86\00:28:37.39 And so the different aspects that were connected to Babylon 00:28:37.42\00:28:40.86 and now is labeled as being connected to spiritual Babylon. 00:28:40.89\00:28:44.64 We need to find out what's spiritual Babylon is, 00:28:44.67\00:28:47.17 so we can began to see the things 00:28:47.20\00:28:49.01 that are in spiritual Babylon, 00:28:49.04\00:28:51.18 those who practice these things are what the scriptures 00:28:51.21\00:28:54.08 are referring to in a prophetic sense. That's right. 00:28:54.11\00:28:56.71 And the reason I mention Daniel 3 00:28:56.74\00:28:59.34 is because one of the clarity we want to make here 00:28:59.37\00:29:02.22 is when the music was played 00:29:02.25\00:29:04.48 it did not persuade Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego 00:29:04.51\00:29:10.67 which are the names given there in the Babylonian province. 00:29:10.75\00:29:13.48 It did not persuade them to still bow down 00:29:13.51\00:29:16.17 and worship the gods of Babylon. 00:29:16.20\00:29:17.99 So what we want to point out 00:29:18.02\00:29:19.68 is when you look at the verse here, 00:29:19.71\00:29:21.08 what's happening nowadays in spiritual Babylon, 00:29:21.11\00:29:24.40 that's sounds so odd, 00:29:24.43\00:29:25.80 its one of the most amazing oxymorons in the Bible, 00:29:25.83\00:29:29.56 spiritual, its more like spiritualistic or spiritualism 00:29:29.59\00:29:35.19 rather than spiritual like Christ to spiritual. 00:29:35.22\00:29:38.02 But what is in essence saying is Babylon for some reason 00:29:38.05\00:29:40.98 is taken on a tone that is not native to it. 00:29:41.01\00:29:44.25 You see, its trying to put for the Christian foot-- 00:29:44.28\00:29:48.02 Think about today, let's just talk common sense, 00:29:48.05\00:29:50.33 how many people say I'm spiritual, 00:29:50.36\00:29:52.49 I just don't believe in organize religion. 00:29:52.52\00:29:54.52 They're spiritual but they don't want the organization 00:29:54.55\00:29:59.24 that God has set for through His church. 00:29:59.27\00:30:01.49 And so you have, I would say, 00:30:01.52\00:30:03.70 part of spiritual Babylon includes that mentality 00:30:03.73\00:30:07.77 that I don't want to be connected necessarily 00:30:07.80\00:30:09.60 maybe to a specific church, but I want to be spiritual, 00:30:09.63\00:30:15.31 you know, yeah and it just, its part of that mentality 00:30:15.34\00:30:19.19 that I want to do it my way 00:30:19.22\00:30:21.13 which is very Babel, Babylon type of mentality. 00:30:21.16\00:30:25.60 You know, that just open up another door 00:30:25.63\00:30:27.92 that I want to go to in Revelation. 00:30:27.95\00:30:29.39 Revelation, let's go back earlier some, I said earlier, 00:30:29.42\00:30:33.23 but just let's go and wrap up this, 00:30:33.26\00:30:35.59 this point of transition. 00:30:35.62\00:30:36.99 When you look at Daniel 3 and you look at verse 5, 00:30:37.02\00:30:41.86 pretty interesting, music has taken 00:30:41.89\00:30:44.41 center stage nowadays when it comes to worship. 00:30:44.44\00:30:46.87 The word of God is being minimized 00:30:46.90\00:30:49.54 and the music is being maximized, 00:30:49.57\00:30:51.97 and so you have places where there is dynamic music, 00:30:52.00\00:30:55.27 but what I want to get at here very, very important point. 00:30:55.30\00:30:59.12 Daniel 3:5, "At the time you hear the sound of the horn, 00:30:59.15\00:31:03.32 the flute, the lyre, the palsy, or the psaltery" 00:31:03.35\00:31:08.74 or how we want to say that, 00:31:08.77\00:31:10.14 in symphony that meaning being all played together, 00:31:10.17\00:31:14.15 with all kinds of music. 00:31:14.18\00:31:18.11 That's the phrase I want to bring out. 00:31:18.14\00:31:19.87 You shall fall down and worship the God, 00:31:19.90\00:31:22.27 the golden image or the gold image 00:31:22.30\00:31:24.94 that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 00:31:24.97\00:31:28.03 Couple of things this image was not set up by God. 00:31:28.06\00:31:30.77 First of all God said, thou shall not bow down 00:31:30.80\00:31:32.58 to worship any image. 00:31:32.61\00:31:33.98 Secondly He says, all kinds of music 00:31:34.01\00:31:36.91 and today in Christendom all kinds of music 00:31:36.94\00:31:40.94 has entered into the church. 00:31:40.97\00:31:42.44 Rock, rap, hip hop, techno 00:31:42.47\00:31:46.11 all kinds of music has entered into the church 00:31:46.14\00:31:48.60 that is being used not for the worship of God, 00:31:48.63\00:31:51.31 but for the worship of the image that has been set up 00:31:51.34\00:31:54.69 in place of the worship of the true God. 00:31:54.72\00:31:56.95 Let me encourage you, to do like these Hebrews did, 00:31:56.98\00:31:59.58 they refused to bow down 00:31:59.61\00:32:02.39 no matter what kind of song was being played. 00:32:02.42\00:32:05.10 So is the problem the music, 00:32:05.14\00:32:06.57 the problem with things that are borrowed from Babylon, 00:32:06.60\00:32:10.00 this is Babylonian music used for the purpose of worship. 00:32:10.03\00:32:13.11 Make sure that the music they use-- 00:32:13.14\00:32:15.12 that you use for the purpose of worship 00:32:15.15\00:32:16.90 is not being borrowed from the world, 00:32:16.93\00:32:19.53 because there is no such thing as sanctifying something 00:32:19.56\00:32:22.15 that is not sanctified by God. 00:32:22.18\00:32:24.12 You cannot sanctify something 00:32:24.15\00:32:25.52 that is not used for Christian purposes 00:32:25.55\00:32:28.29 and that's what happening in the church nowadays, John. 00:32:28.32\00:32:30.84 A lot of the music the same styles 00:32:30.87\00:32:32.87 are coming into the church 00:32:32.90\00:32:34.27 and its being poured in like the wine of Babylon. 00:32:34.30\00:32:38.17 And people hear all kinds of music 00:32:38.20\00:32:40.16 and they just choose to bow down and worship, 00:32:40.19\00:32:42.01 regardless of the fact, 00:32:42.04\00:32:43.44 that God's word doesn't condone all kinds of music. 00:32:43.47\00:32:46.62 So we've let the cat out of the bag. Okay. 00:32:46.65\00:32:50.32 We want to talk about here now, 00:32:50.35\00:32:53.77 why you're saying into the church, 00:32:53.80\00:32:56.31 you use the word church several times. 00:32:56.34\00:32:58.55 So let's define why John and John-- 00:32:58.58\00:33:01.59 are now talking about Babylon being a church 00:33:01.62\00:33:05.58 because it's a woman, okay. So let's connect this. 00:33:05.61\00:33:08.69 Go ahead. Get the docs here. 00:33:08.72\00:33:10.09 Revelation 17 which is where we began talks about 00:33:10.12\00:33:14.61 how this great harlot who sits on many waters, 00:33:14.64\00:33:21.77 the harlot is obviously a woman. 00:33:21.80\00:33:25.36 And it speaks of her sitting on many waters, 00:33:25.39\00:33:30.28 committing fornication with the kings of the earth. 00:33:30.31\00:33:32.77 There is a politico-religio 00:33:32.80\00:33:35.38 kind of a unity here that's happening. 00:33:35.41\00:33:38.72 In the Middle East you'd call it the theocracy. 00:33:38.75\00:33:41.78 Here we typically call it religio-political 00:33:41.81\00:33:45.21 it's the soft word, 00:33:45.24\00:33:46.61 the soft way of saying that 00:33:46.64\00:33:48.09 politics and religion mix just fine. 00:33:48.12\00:33:50.50 This says, that Babylon is comprised 00:33:50.53\00:33:52.52 of those who mixed the two. Okay. 00:33:52.55\00:33:55.19 Now going further as it introduces this woman, 00:33:55.22\00:34:00.92 its goes down and talks about 00:34:00.95\00:34:02.32 some of the characteristic she has. 00:34:02.35\00:34:04.00 Verse 4 one example is that, 00:34:04.03\00:34:06.90 she is arrayed in purple and scarlet 00:34:06.93\00:34:09.01 adorn with gold and precious stones and pearls, 00:34:09.04\00:34:11.60 she is decked out, man, she is just, 00:34:11.63\00:34:14.50 she is decked out and then verse 5 says, on her name, 00:34:14.53\00:34:18.09 on her forehead a name was written 00:34:18.12\00:34:19.88 "Mystery Babylon the Great." So that's her title. 00:34:19.91\00:34:22.48 So Babylon the great is when we see spiritual Babylon. 00:34:22.51\00:34:26.60 We say spiritual because its' not a city, 00:34:26.63\00:34:29.93 it's not the old city of Babylon, 00:34:29.96\00:34:31.33 it's referring to a woman, a harlot specifically. 00:34:31.36\00:34:34.12 In the Book of Revelation, 00:34:34.15\00:34:36.38 you have a couple of different women that are represented. 00:34:36.41\00:34:41.56 In Chapter 12 you see a pure woman. You do. 00:34:41.59\00:34:45.92 Beautiful, pure represents as you go through the-- 00:34:45.95\00:34:49.04 you see, representative of God's followers 00:34:49.07\00:34:52.63 and then here you find a corrupt woman, a harlot. 00:34:52.66\00:34:56.71 What is prophecy telling us 00:34:56.74\00:34:58.92 in comparing and contrasting the two, 00:34:58.95\00:35:02.59 one is, both are women, 00:35:02.62\00:35:05.62 one is pure, one is a harlot. 00:35:05.65\00:35:09.36 A few scriptures here and you may have some other ones. 00:35:09.39\00:35:12.26 The first one is Jeremiah 6:2. Do you have-- 00:35:12.29\00:35:17.31 Well, I could turn to that, but-- 00:35:17.34\00:35:18.71 Go ahead if you have another one start here-- 00:35:18.74\00:35:20.11 Let me amplify what you're saying here 00:35:20.14\00:35:21.51 because when the Bible talks about, 00:35:21.54\00:35:23.32 and this is once again the Old Testament 00:35:23.35\00:35:24.93 lay so much foundation 00:35:24.96\00:35:26.33 for what's happening in the New Testament. 00:35:26.36\00:35:27.89 There was a prophet by the name of, 00:35:27.92\00:35:30.29 not a prophet but a king by the name Ahab. 00:35:30.32\00:35:33.18 He married a woman by the name of Jezebel 00:35:33.21\00:35:35.72 and this is once again a leader of God's people 00:35:35.75\00:35:39.39 Ahab marrying a worshipper of the God of Behal, Baal, okay. 00:35:39.42\00:35:45.93 And when they marry together it formed 00:35:45.96\00:35:48.34 a union between corrupt, 00:35:48.37\00:35:51.20 a corrupt woman and a spiritual man, 00:35:51.23\00:35:55.00 thereby not making the woman spiritual 00:35:55.03\00:35:57.35 but making the man corrupt. 00:35:57.38\00:35:59.86 When you mesh that what is spiritual 00:35:59.89\00:36:02.43 with that which is corrupt, you don't get a pure corruption, 00:36:02.46\00:36:08.18 you get a corrupt spirituality, 00:36:08.21\00:36:13.09 you get the corrupt spiritual, 00:36:13.12\00:36:15.86 it corrupts the spiritual, 00:36:15.89\00:36:17.56 it doesn't purify the corrupt, okay. 00:36:17.59\00:36:20.41 You have here in Revelation 2:20, 19, 00:36:20.44\00:36:26.72 the Lord is talking about fire attire, 00:36:26.75\00:36:29.70 what that church went through and this by the way was, 00:36:29.73\00:36:33.06 this is showing how the corruption got 00:36:33.09\00:36:35.79 into the churches says, verse 20 of Revelation 2. 00:36:35.82\00:36:41.57 "Nevertheless I have a few things against you, 00:36:41.60\00:36:44.37 because you allow that woman Jezebel, 00:36:44.40\00:36:47.58 who calls herself a prophetess, 00:36:47.61\00:36:50.14 to teach and beguile My servants to commit sexual immorality 00:36:50.17\00:36:55.00 and eat things sacrificed to idols. 00:36:55.03\00:36:58.23 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, 00:36:58.26\00:37:01.82 and she did not repent." And then He says. 00:37:01.85\00:37:04.97 "Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, 00:37:05.00\00:37:07.00 and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, 00:37:07.03\00:37:11.37 unless they repent of their deeds. 00:37:11.40\00:37:14.20 I will kill her children with death, 00:37:14.23\00:37:16.17 and all the churches shall know that 00:37:16.20\00:37:19.31 I am He who searches the minds and hearts. 00:37:19.34\00:37:22.44 And will give to each one of you according to your works." 00:37:22.47\00:37:26.96 So when we talked about the church that woman, 00:37:26.99\00:37:29.30 that corrupt woman that's what Revelation 17 00:37:29.33\00:37:32.33 is talking about that corrupt woman, 00:37:32.36\00:37:34.13 but now you want to show us the picture in Jeremiah, 00:37:34.16\00:37:36.29 am I correct? Yes. 00:37:36.32\00:37:37.72 Let's go to Jeremiah. 00:37:37.75\00:37:39.12 And I mention Jeremiah 6 here, 00:37:39.15\00:37:41.09 but just to kind of give you some background, 00:37:41.12\00:37:45.38 Jeremiah 3, let start with verse 1 there. All right. 00:37:45.41\00:37:50.02 And this is God speaking to His people, 00:37:50.05\00:37:51.84 so its council is important for us today. 00:37:51.87\00:37:54.97 Although He's speaking to literal Israel at that time 00:37:55.00\00:37:57.75 now spiritual Israel is God's church. 00:37:57.78\00:38:01.97 "They say, if a man divorces his wife 00:38:02.00\00:38:04.17 and she goes from him and becomes another man's, 00:38:04.20\00:38:07.27 may he return to her again? 00:38:07.30\00:38:09.36 Would not that land be greatly polluted? 00:38:09.39\00:38:11.74 But you have played the harlot with many lovers; 00:38:11.77\00:38:15.14 yet return to me? Says the Lord. 00:38:15.17\00:38:17.55 Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see; 00:38:17.58\00:38:21.35 where have you not lain with men? 00:38:21.38\00:38:24.86 By the road you have sat for them 00:38:24.89\00:38:26.44 like an Arabian in the wilderness; 00:38:26.47\00:38:28.02 And you have polluted the land 00:38:28.05\00:38:29.42 with your harlotries and your wickedness. 00:38:29.45\00:38:31.87 Therefore the showers have been withheld, 00:38:31.90\00:38:33.92 and there has been no latter rain, 00:38:33.95\00:38:35.97 and you have a harlot's forehead," 00:38:36.00\00:38:39.29 What is that. "Refused to be ashamed. 00:38:39.32\00:38:42.86 Will you not from this time cry to me, 00:38:42.89\00:38:46.74 My father, you are my guide of my youth? 00:38:46.77\00:38:49.32 Will he remain angry forever, will he keep it to the end?' 00:38:49.35\00:38:52.36 Behold, you have spoken and done evil things as you are able." 00:38:52.39\00:38:56.21 In other words, God allowed them to make decisions, 00:38:56.24\00:38:58.84 to make choices, John, 00:38:58.87\00:39:00.24 but he clearly as they made those choices 00:39:00.27\00:39:04.18 to fall away from him and practice 00:39:04.21\00:39:06.49 those things that were unholy, 00:39:06.52\00:39:08.16 that were defiled, that were from the other nations. 00:39:08.19\00:39:10.67 He spoke to them as a harlot, 00:39:10.70\00:39:14.34 His people were committing harlotry. That's right. 00:39:14.37\00:39:17.68 So in that context when we read in Jeremiah 6:2 00:39:17.71\00:39:23.62 "I have likened the daughter of Zion 00:39:23.65\00:39:25.16 to a lovely and delicate woman." 00:39:25.19\00:39:26.83 He is giving the example 00:39:26.86\00:39:28.23 of what he wants his children to be. That's right. 00:39:28.26\00:39:30.49 Pure and holy, not the harlot, 00:39:30.52\00:39:33.58 but let's not mistaken this. 00:39:33.61\00:39:35.41 In these cases they both on the outward appearance 00:39:35.44\00:39:39.72 to a degree, believed they spoke as if they belong to God. Okay. 00:39:39.75\00:39:46.87 Whether they are playing the harlot 00:39:46.90\00:39:48.29 or whether they were following God 00:39:48.32\00:39:49.88 in a pure way they still look to Him. 00:39:49.91\00:39:53.06 In the verse we just read from Jeremiah 3, 00:39:53.09\00:39:55.33 He said won't you come crying back to me, 00:39:55.36\00:39:57.40 even though you are backsliding, 00:39:57.43\00:39:58.80 won't you come cry out to me every time you get in trouble 00:39:58.83\00:40:00.79 you come cry out to me. 00:40:00.82\00:40:02.72 Well, this is what we're saying. 00:40:02.75\00:40:04.12 So spiritual Babylon we're talking about the harlot, 00:40:04.15\00:40:07.03 it represents a church, it looks like a church, 00:40:07.06\00:40:11.80 it looks like it follows God, but its not, 00:40:11.83\00:40:14.02 its practicing the things that are not of God. That's right. 00:40:14.05\00:40:18.13 And very wonderful parallel you find also Jeremiah 00:40:18.16\00:40:21.96 brings out other elements of Babylon 00:40:21.99\00:40:24.56 and this is going to become more pointed and specifically 00:40:24.59\00:40:29.44 because you need to know whether or not 00:40:29.47\00:40:31.26 where you are is not where God want you to be 00:40:31.29\00:40:34.30 and that's what the whole purpose of this program is, 00:40:34.33\00:40:37.64 so let people know that God has people everywhere 00:40:37.67\00:40:40.97 Revelation 18:1 to 4 that's a call, 00:40:41.00\00:40:43.09 I want to lead into this by the way, 00:40:43.12\00:40:45.64 I want to just mention that, 00:40:45.67\00:40:47.37 that Revelation 18:4 has come out of her my people. 00:40:47.40\00:40:51.73 So the clear element just like the Hebrews were in Babylon, 00:40:51.76\00:40:55.11 God has people nowadays in spiritual Babylon, 00:40:55.14\00:40:58.62 spiritual because the literal Babylon doesn't exist, 00:40:58.65\00:41:01.67 the literal place where Babylon existed does not exist today, 00:41:01.70\00:41:05.17 yet these elements that we're pointing out 00:41:05.20\00:41:08.24 do exist in Christendom 00:41:08.27\00:41:10.33 and so that's what Satan's attempt 00:41:10.36\00:41:11.86 was to pollute the woman, to make her a harlot. 00:41:11.89\00:41:16.92 She has daughters also, and that's the other thing 00:41:16.95\00:41:18.82 that Revelation 17 points out, not just the mother, 00:41:18.85\00:41:22.22 but if she is a mother of the abominations 00:41:22.25\00:41:25.18 and the harlots of the earth. 00:41:25.21\00:41:26.58 In other words her filthiness, her corruption, 00:41:26.61\00:41:29.38 her adultery that is her dishonor to the true God 00:41:29.41\00:41:32.86 is prevalent in so many avenues of worship, 00:41:32.89\00:41:35.70 but the one thing that is common 00:41:35.73\00:41:37.55 that God still hasn't overlook 00:41:37.58\00:41:39.76 is a fact that His people are still there. 00:41:39.79\00:41:43.21 Right, which is the call to come out from-- 00:41:43.24\00:41:45.36 Which is the call to come out, 00:41:45.39\00:41:47.23 you know, the Babylon was a corrupt city, 00:41:47.26\00:41:49.20 but His people were there, they were held captive, 00:41:49.23\00:41:51.97 they were held in bondage to the ways 00:41:52.00\00:41:54.53 and the teachings of Babylon, and that's happening today. 00:41:54.56\00:41:57.70 Lot of Christians are held in bondage to the people 00:41:57.73\00:42:00.18 in the ways of corrupt things, 00:42:00.21\00:42:03.32 immoral things in some movements. 00:42:03.35\00:42:05.71 John, let me talk about some of these things, 00:42:05.74\00:42:07.11 let me just make some comparison here 00:42:07.14\00:42:08.95 because I want to read this first, 00:42:08.98\00:42:10.53 but I don't want to read it before I make this point. 00:42:10.56\00:42:14.54 And we talked about sexual immorality in this program, 00:42:14.57\00:42:16.45 so this fits right now and this shows 00:42:16.48\00:42:18.70 an element of Babylon sexual immorality, 00:42:18.73\00:42:20.82 the woman the perversion there. 00:42:20.85\00:42:22.52 When churches began ordaining people 00:42:22.55\00:42:26.08 that are living sexually immoral lives 00:42:26.11\00:42:29.55 and put them in the positions of leadership. 00:42:29.58\00:42:32.78 There are some churches today that have openly gay clergy, 00:42:32.81\00:42:38.44 practicing that lifestyle and they are leading out 00:42:38.47\00:42:42.12 in these churches that is a symbol of spiritual Babylon. 00:42:42.15\00:42:48.71 That is just, I mean, sexual immorality 00:42:48.74\00:42:51.89 is what we are told to flee, 00:42:51.92\00:42:53.29 but then when you have a person practicing that lifestyle, 00:42:53.32\00:42:55.73 but let's not leave that all by itself, 00:42:55.76\00:42:58.37 if you have clergy that having, 00:42:58.40\00:43:00.50 if you have men clergy that having multiple relationships 00:43:00.53\00:43:04.17 and not being true to the one wife 00:43:04.20\00:43:06.45 that's the similar thing here. 00:43:06.48\00:43:08.23 But one of the examples 00:43:08.26\00:43:09.90 that you're getting here in the Bible, 00:43:09.93\00:43:11.38 is this woman Jezebel, 00:43:11.41\00:43:12.90 who that's her whole life is identified, 00:43:12.93\00:43:15.37 very few people I know nowadays. 00:43:15.40\00:43:17.28 And I said this once when somebody 00:43:17.31\00:43:18.68 wrote me a letter and said 00:43:18.71\00:43:20.08 they actually did named their daughter Jezebel. 00:43:20.11\00:43:21.72 And I thought to myself unbelievable, 00:43:21.75\00:43:23.26 why would you do that 00:43:23.29\00:43:24.66 when you think about what is connected to. 00:43:24.69\00:43:26.28 But there's a very few people has a little girl and say, 00:43:26.31\00:43:28.52 oh, you know, she is so pretty, 00:43:28.55\00:43:30.32 I want to call her Jezebel. 00:43:30.35\00:43:31.97 That name just doesn't have a good connotation 00:43:32.00\00:43:33.82 connected to it at all. 00:43:33.85\00:43:35.25 So what's happening nowadays is wherever sexual immorality 00:43:35.28\00:43:38.86 is reigning in the leadership then you're in a place where-- 00:43:38.89\00:43:43.33 there are those Babylonian practices have entered 00:43:43.36\00:43:45.87 into in this very careful. 00:43:45.90\00:43:48.23 But here's what Jeremiah also points out about Babylon, 00:43:48.26\00:43:50.82 that I want to get to right now. 00:43:50.85\00:43:53.38 Jeremiah 51:47, Jeremiah 51:47. 00:43:53.41\00:44:00.55 Because you have to be able to identify these elements 00:44:00.58\00:44:03.84 because they are not all packaged together 00:44:03.87\00:44:05.46 neatly into one package, 00:44:05.49\00:44:06.86 here the Babylonian identification kit. 00:44:06.89\00:44:09.71 But look at verse 47. Read that for us, John. 00:44:09.74\00:44:13.13 "Therefore behold, the days are coming. 00:44:13.16\00:44:15.72 That I will bring judgment on the carved images of Babylon; 00:44:15.75\00:44:19.40 Her whole land shall be ashamed, 00:44:19.43\00:44:21.54 And all her slain shall fall in her midst." 00:44:21.57\00:44:24.42 Now get what that says, carved images. 00:44:24.45\00:44:28.41 We were just in Russia, few months ago. 00:44:28.44\00:44:33.25 And we went to some of the temples 00:44:33.28\00:44:36.56 that are there in Russia and we walked in 00:44:36.59\00:44:41.05 and saw images abounding to many to count. 00:44:41.08\00:44:46.23 We saw--people came in and depending on 00:44:46.26\00:44:51.73 whatever they came in to pray about, 00:44:51.76\00:44:54.47 they would kiss the picture 00:44:54.50\00:44:57.58 and they would light a candle in front of the picture 00:44:57.61\00:44:59.58 that best represented the thing they wanted to pray about. 00:44:59.61\00:45:02.23 And if you look at the walls 00:45:02.26\00:45:04.00 from the walls left right center ceiling 00:45:04.03\00:45:06.95 pictures of all different kinds of 00:45:06.98\00:45:09.10 and they said these are the Gods they pray to. 00:45:09.13\00:45:14.05 These are the images they pray to, 00:45:14.08\00:45:17.47 because that's how they believe they're suppose to pray, 00:45:17.50\00:45:22.05 that's what has been said in this particular passage. 00:45:22.08\00:45:24.76 Image worship, remember now where did you get that 00:45:24.79\00:45:27.07 from first of all thou shalt not make unto thee 00:45:27.10\00:45:28.52 any graven images, 00:45:28.55\00:45:30.30 that's before the people of God were in Babylon, 00:45:30.33\00:45:32.35 they were let out of Egypt is also there. 00:45:32.38\00:45:34.61 But on the plain of Dura in Babylon 00:45:34.64\00:45:39.51 Nebuchadnezzar was trying to get the Hebrews to bow down 00:45:39.54\00:45:42.15 and worship an image, a carved image. 00:45:42.18\00:45:46.31 So if you are part of a fellowship 00:45:46.34\00:45:48.44 where carved images are worshiped 00:45:48.47\00:45:51.23 that is the symbol of the existence of a worship 00:45:51.26\00:45:56.22 that is not authorized by God. 00:45:56.25\00:45:58.15 Its Babylonian worship, its to be avoided 00:45:58.18\00:46:02.42 and I know and I say this with an element of heavy heart, 00:46:02.45\00:46:07.69 a lot of my family members are part of a faith 00:46:07.72\00:46:10.71 that they have so many images 00:46:10.74\00:46:12.81 and what I learned also over in Russia 00:46:12.84\00:46:14.96 is there was a large picture, they had a picture 00:46:14.99\00:46:17.17 and I was wondering what is that picture was a large a woman, 00:46:17.20\00:46:20.70 a picture of a woman she was a larger part of the picture, 00:46:20.73\00:46:24.05 but there were very, very small part of the picture 00:46:24.08\00:46:26.34 was a smaller image and they say, 00:46:26.37\00:46:28.33 well, in that church Mary is seen as supreme 00:46:28.36\00:46:31.74 and Jesus is being seen as subject to her, 00:46:31.77\00:46:35.09 another symbol of Babylonian worship. 00:46:35.12\00:46:40.47 You know, as we're talking more and more, 00:46:40.50\00:46:42.65 we don't want to single anybody out in this program. 00:46:42.68\00:46:45.03 It's just the purpose of revealing now 00:46:45.06\00:46:47.64 spiritual Babylon is a church, 00:46:47.67\00:46:49.93 a system that is promoting very ungodly practices 00:46:49.96\00:46:55.32 and calling them Christianity. 00:46:55.35\00:46:57.97 It just doesn't spill from one entity down, 00:46:58.00\00:47:01.50 but this harlot has daughters, 00:47:01.53\00:47:03.48 it is filtered everywhere around the world, 00:47:03.51\00:47:05.35 we're seeing rampant cases 00:47:05.38\00:47:06.85 of spiritual Babylon in this world. 00:47:06.88\00:47:10.15 And to maybe find some of those things 00:47:10.18\00:47:13.27 that are represented within Babylon. 00:47:13.30\00:47:16.04 We can go back to Revelation 17 00:47:16.07\00:47:18.66 and let's look at some of the things 00:47:18.69\00:47:20.08 and identify some of the things 00:47:20.11\00:47:21.48 that it's pertaining to when he's speaking now, 00:47:21.51\00:47:23.34 because Revelation 17 remember is a prophecy, 00:47:23.37\00:47:26.01 it is not literal, 00:47:26.04\00:47:27.77 its got a spiritual application, its symbolic. 00:47:27.80\00:47:31.53 So as we look at these symbols 00:47:31.56\00:47:32.99 what are they saying about a church, 00:47:33.02\00:47:36.83 a system that it looks Christian, but its not. 00:47:36.86\00:47:40.07 What are they saying about that to identify it. 00:47:40.10\00:47:41.83 Okay, Revelation 17, what verse? 00:47:41.86\00:47:43.23 Seventeen, let's go back to verse 1. Okay. 00:47:43.26\00:47:46.30 "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot 00:47:46.33\00:47:48.84 who sits on many waters." 00:47:48.87\00:47:50.24 Obviously here we first see that it is going to be judge, 00:47:50.27\00:47:52.92 you just read that from Jeremiah 51, 00:47:52.95\00:47:55.00 Judgment is coming upon Babylon. 00:47:55.03\00:47:58.16 "With whom the kings 00:47:58.19\00:47:59.56 of the earth committed fornication." 00:47:59.59\00:48:01.70 All right, so there is a joining of, 00:48:01.73\00:48:03.89 we already mention this though, 00:48:03.92\00:48:05.29 but let's talk about it again it's a joining of a religious 00:48:05.32\00:48:08.11 with the spiritual practices that the Christianity 00:48:08.14\00:48:11.99 and so you have a religio-political entity here, 00:48:12.02\00:48:16.32 one that is really involved not just overtly, 00:48:16.35\00:48:19.39 so everybody can see, but specially behind the scenes 00:48:19.42\00:48:21.79 and making things happen the way they have. 00:48:21.82\00:48:24.57 In the history we know that persecution often results 00:48:24.60\00:48:28.39 and has resulted when the religious arm 00:48:28.42\00:48:31.24 joins with the political arm 00:48:31.27\00:48:32.64 receives the power of the civil power 00:48:32.67\00:48:37.60 and then forces others to worship 00:48:37.63\00:48:39.92 that has happened already and its gonna happen again. 00:48:39.95\00:48:42.49 "The inhabitants on earth were made drunk 00:48:42.52\00:48:44.36 with the wine of her fornication." 00:48:44.39\00:48:45.76 Talk about that, John, I mean, 00:48:45.79\00:48:47.22 what is this made drunk? 00:48:47.25\00:48:49.21 What are they referring to there? 00:48:49.24\00:48:50.69 You know, imbibing whenever you-- 00:48:50.72\00:48:52.86 we did a program on communion okay, 00:48:52.89\00:48:55.78 this is really interesting. 00:48:55.81\00:48:57.18 Communion, you know, when you partake of the wine 00:48:57.21\00:48:59.58 which is unfermented, but in the Paganistic practices 00:48:59.61\00:49:04.86 the wine was fermented actually it was fermented in some cases 00:49:04.89\00:49:08.71 actual alcohol was introduced, 00:49:08.74\00:49:11.15 but it was fermented fruit. 00:49:11.18\00:49:12.96 It had come to the point where its start to turn into 00:49:12.99\00:49:16.77 that which can inebriate you, 00:49:16.80\00:49:18.36 it can cause you to be drunk. 00:49:18.39\00:49:20.20 And so they said whenever this was participated 00:49:20.23\00:49:23.27 in by those who were dedicated to God 00:49:23.30\00:49:26.02 that's where the inebriation came 00:49:26.05\00:49:27.64 and that's where they were made drunk. 00:49:27.67\00:49:29.81 So what happens nowadays as you see 00:49:29.84\00:49:31.37 that this wine that's coming, you know, the teachings, 00:49:31.40\00:49:34.20 teachings that are throwing the ability of God's people 00:49:34.23\00:49:40.84 to discern between right and wrong is being impaired. 00:49:40.87\00:49:45.69 The ability to understand truth from error is being impaired, 00:49:45.72\00:49:50.30 because when a person is drunk the one thing 00:49:50.33\00:49:51.90 that he or she cannot do is walk a straight line. 00:49:51.93\00:49:55.59 The one thing that he or she cannot do is stand up firmly, 00:49:55.62\00:49:59.27 and so what's happening here is the Christian mind 00:49:59.30\00:50:02.18 this is why the Bible says 00:50:02.21\00:50:03.58 be transform by the renewing of your mind. 00:50:03.61\00:50:07.72 A mind is set free when truth enters, 00:50:07.75\00:50:10.54 the entrance of your word brings light, 00:50:10.57\00:50:13.15 when truth enters the mind then all the sudden 00:50:13.18\00:50:15.39 what people could not discern in darkness 00:50:15.42\00:50:17.85 were under the point of being inebriated or drunk, 00:50:17.88\00:50:20.68 they began to now see clearly 00:50:20.71\00:50:22.40 that's what the Babylonian system has done 00:50:22.43\00:50:24.64 truths and teaching that exist 00:50:24.67\00:50:26.34 that are not in harmony with God's word, 00:50:26.37\00:50:28.18 but the people are so drunk that you can't tell them otherwise, 00:50:28.21\00:50:32.23 because they cannot discern between light and darkness, 00:50:32.26\00:50:35.54 between truth and error. 00:50:35.57\00:50:36.94 So let's just take this the obvious conclusion. 00:50:36.97\00:50:39.89 One of the things that Babylon had done 00:50:39.92\00:50:42.37 was they had polluted the position 00:50:42.40\00:50:44.79 of the work of the priest 00:50:44.82\00:50:46.99 and they had profane the Sabbath of God, 00:50:47.02\00:50:49.34 they made no difference between the holy and the unholy, 00:50:49.37\00:50:53.45 they profane the Sabbath of the Lord. 00:50:53.48\00:50:56.12 So what happen today in the churches of the world 00:50:56.15\00:50:58.47 where you find the true Sabbath of God being profaned 00:50:58.50\00:51:01.80 and a new day been establishing his place 00:51:01.83\00:51:04.03 that's a symbol of the wine of Babylon. 00:51:04.06\00:51:06.44 But what I want to add to what John mentioned 00:51:06.47\00:51:08.15 a moment ago is not the singling out of individuals, 00:51:08.18\00:51:11.01 because the majority of my family 00:51:11.04\00:51:12.41 is still a part of a fellowship 00:51:12.44\00:51:14.26 that honors many of these things. 00:51:14.29\00:51:16.54 That's why I mentioned earlier 00:51:16.57\00:51:18.12 the Lord isn't looking at the destruction of the system, 00:51:18.15\00:51:21.53 but the rescue of the people. 00:51:21.56\00:51:23.94 He is saying to them come out of her 00:51:23.97\00:51:25.45 my people that's the key element. 00:51:25.48\00:51:27.87 You want to add something to that, John? 00:51:27.90\00:51:29.42 Well, I was just kind of connect here this wine, 00:51:29.45\00:51:31.76 you know, what is this wine the prophet Micah speaks of this 00:51:31.79\00:51:36.39 and its interesting in Micah 2:10, 00:51:36.42\00:51:42.46 it just so perfectly fits. 00:51:42.49\00:51:44.81 Look at Micah 2:10 and 11. Okay. 00:51:44.84\00:51:47.39 Arise and depart. 00:51:47.42\00:51:48.94 In other words, the Lord is saying get out of here. 00:51:48.97\00:51:50.73 Get up and get out of her. 00:51:50.76\00:51:52.13 Get out of here. 00:51:52.16\00:51:53.53 In other words, come out of her, my people. 00:51:53.56\00:51:55.91 Arise and depart. 00:51:55.94\00:51:57.31 For this is not your rest. 00:51:57.34\00:52:00.60 Now we can do that with the allotted one, 00:52:00.63\00:52:02.94 day of rest. That's right. 00:52:02.97\00:52:04.54 "Because it is defiled it shall destroy 00:52:04.57\00:52:06.95 yes with utter destruction. 00:52:06.98\00:52:09.34 If a man should walk in a false spirit" 00:52:09.37\00:52:11.63 And this is really a key here. 00:52:11.66\00:52:13.35 "If a man should walk in a false spirit 00:52:13.38\00:52:15.12 and speak a lie, saying, 00:52:15.15\00:52:17.37 'I will prophesy to you of wine and drink," 00:52:17.40\00:52:21.01 Which Chapter you're in. 00:52:21.04\00:52:22.41 Micah 2:10 and 11. Okay, got you. 00:52:22.44\00:52:24.12 "I will prophesy you of wine and strong drink, 00:52:24.15\00:52:26.52 Even he would be the prattler of this people." 00:52:26.55\00:52:30.70 "I will surely assemble all of you, 00:52:30.73\00:52:32.33 O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel;" 00:52:32.36\00:52:35.27 we're in spiritual Israel now. 00:52:35.30\00:52:37.53 "I will put them together like sheep of the fold, 00:52:37.56\00:52:39.54 or like a flock in the midst of their pasture; 00:52:39.57\00:52:42.34 They shall make a loud noise because of so many people." 00:52:42.37\00:52:44.72 What is that loud noise? The loud cry. 00:52:44.75\00:52:47.19 That's right, that's right. 00:52:47.22\00:52:48.59 You have this prophecy is exactly what is about 00:52:48.62\00:52:51.11 to take place or what is it taking place 00:52:51.14\00:52:53.02 even right now. That's right. 00:52:53.05\00:52:54.50 But the connection I want you to notice here 00:52:54.53\00:52:56.20 is the fact that when a man speaks falsity, 00:52:56.23\00:52:59.61 false prophecies even lying teachings, 00:52:59.64\00:53:03.41 that's when they are causing people to get drunk 00:53:03.44\00:53:06.70 because they're prophesying of wine and drink. 00:53:06.73\00:53:09.26 So when it says that Babylon is getting people drunk 00:53:09.29\00:53:12.86 with the wine of her fornication it is her teachings. 00:53:12.89\00:53:15.47 That's right, that's clearly what it is. 00:53:15.50\00:53:17.15 They are drunk of the teachings and in fact 00:53:17.18\00:53:19.35 so much so that they can't discern even what is truth. 00:53:19.38\00:53:22.01 And, you know, John, what's amazing nowadays 00:53:22.04\00:53:23.54 is when people start to come into 00:53:23.57\00:53:24.94 an understanding of the truth. 00:53:24.97\00:53:26.83 It is so strange when a person is-- 00:53:26.86\00:53:29.48 the phrase we could use is being detoxed, 00:53:29.51\00:53:32.49 you know, these facilities where people go and get detoxed, 00:53:32.52\00:53:35.87 they go through withdrawals, 00:53:35.90\00:53:37.27 you know, the body respond in a very strange way, 00:53:37.30\00:53:39.79 those strange reactions that the body is manifesting 00:53:39.82\00:53:43.35 is the body readjusting itself, 00:53:43.38\00:53:44.81 not the body going against its natural use, 00:53:44.84\00:53:46.98 but the body is purifying itself. 00:53:47.01\00:53:49.48 So if you're in the study of that which is truth 00:53:49.51\00:53:53.20 and you've never seen it before, 00:53:53.23\00:53:55.39 it will cause you to adjust in a great degree and, 00:53:55.42\00:53:59.97 but hang in there with it and you will find 00:54:00.00\00:54:02.16 as time goes on those things that you could not see. 00:54:02.19\00:54:04.71 Some people say, I can't see 00:54:04.74\00:54:06.11 how the Sabbath can make a difference. 00:54:06.14\00:54:07.67 I can't see what the difference is between 00:54:07.70\00:54:09.07 whether it's an eternal hell or not an eternal hell, 00:54:09.10\00:54:10.84 what difference does it make. 00:54:10.87\00:54:12.29 What difference does it make where the people dying 00:54:12.32\00:54:13.85 go straight to heaven or they die 00:54:13.88\00:54:15.25 and wait till Jesus comes, what difference does it. 00:54:15.28\00:54:16.65 They can't see that's the key element there. 00:54:16.68\00:54:19.54 They cannot see, their eyes have been skewed 00:54:19.57\00:54:23.74 by the wine that has been introduced into their minds. 00:54:23.77\00:54:28.32 And, you know, what happens when the mind is introduced 00:54:28.35\00:54:31.74 when there is any kind of off kiltering drug introduced 00:54:31.77\00:54:36.64 into the mind you cannot differentiate 00:54:36.67\00:54:38.78 between the holy and the unholy, 00:54:38.81\00:54:40.82 the profane and that which is blessed by God, 00:54:40.85\00:54:43.54 you cannot differentiate. 00:54:43.57\00:54:46.64 They could probably should end here by talking about 00:54:46.67\00:54:50.01 who this beast is connected to, 00:54:50.04\00:54:51.54 because in verse 3, it says clearly 00:54:51.57\00:54:54.62 that she was sitting on a scarlet beast 00:54:54.65\00:54:56.29 and that scarlet beast is connected 00:54:56.32\00:54:57.79 back in Revelation 12 to Satan and his kingdom. That's right. 00:54:57.82\00:55:03.59 So we clearly know that this harlot 00:55:03.62\00:55:05.90 is not linked with God at all. No. 00:55:05.93\00:55:09.62 She is arrayed in purple and scarlet 00:55:09.65\00:55:11.27 adorn with golden precious pearls 00:55:11.30\00:55:15.22 having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations 00:55:15.25\00:55:18.65 and filthiness of her fornication. 00:55:18.68\00:55:21.09 Anyway even what she wears and how she appears, 00:55:21.12\00:55:26.22 red, scarlet the colors and all those things, 00:55:26.25\00:55:29.35 one color is missing. Blue. Blue. 00:55:29.38\00:55:33.81 Yet if you look at the priesthood of God 00:55:33.84\00:55:37.75 in the Old Testament repeatedly you'll find blue, 00:55:37.78\00:55:41.36 woven in through their tassels other parts of the thing, 00:55:41.39\00:55:44.37 what is a blue symbolic of? 00:55:44.40\00:55:46.58 Representing the law of God. 00:55:46.61\00:55:47.98 The law of God. 00:55:48.01\00:55:49.38 So it is absent God's law. That's right. 00:55:49.41\00:55:52.23 And so you have all these things 00:55:52.26\00:55:53.63 that makeup this spiritual Babylonian system here. 00:55:53.66\00:55:57.86 And I think if we were to conclude on that 00:55:57.89\00:55:59.44 we'd have to say that truth is important 00:55:59.47\00:56:04.49 to follow God and to obey what He says 00:56:04.52\00:56:07.72 from front page to back page is important. 00:56:07.75\00:56:11.50 Finding what's right in your own eyes, 00:56:11.53\00:56:13.54 doing what you think is okay, 00:56:13.57\00:56:15.58 what is it Deuteronomy 29:19 or something 00:56:15.61\00:56:19.73 did what's right in their own eyes. Right. 00:56:19.76\00:56:21.89 You know, that kind of mentality 00:56:21.92\00:56:23.94 is a spiritual Babylon mentality. Right. 00:56:23.97\00:56:26.51 It's the mentality that ends only in destruction. 00:56:26.54\00:56:29.39 Search the scriptures, find out what God says 00:56:29.42\00:56:32.19 and follow it with all your heart. 00:56:32.22\00:56:33.69 Don't let anybody talk into, it doesn't matter. 00:56:33.72\00:56:35.80 It does matter, it really does matter. 00:56:35.83\00:56:37.20 It matters, it absolutely matters, 00:56:37.23\00:56:39.86 I don't find anywhere in scriptures where God says, 00:56:39.89\00:56:41.74 you know what, that doesn't matter, 00:56:41.77\00:56:43.14 find me one spot where it doesn't matter? 00:56:43.17\00:56:45.56 That's why we have the word it matters. 00:56:45.59\00:56:47.68 And you know what, you have to look at the fellowship 00:56:47.71\00:56:49.54 that you are part of in. 00:56:49.57\00:56:50.94 We could start naming them, but, you know, this is so broad, 00:56:50.97\00:56:53.56 it doesn't just link itself 00:56:53.59\00:56:54.96 to just one kind of spiritual fellowship nowadays, 00:56:54.99\00:56:57.93 spiritual make sure its based on the word of God, 00:56:57.96\00:57:00.95 make sure that what you're asked to believe, 00:57:00.98\00:57:02.74 and to follow, and to teach, 00:57:02.77\00:57:04.14 and to live by is solidly 00:57:04.17\00:57:06.03 not omitting anything that Lord says. 00:57:06.06\00:57:08.42 Its not omitting the Sabbath, 00:57:08.45\00:57:09.82 its not omitting His Ten Commandments, 00:57:09.85\00:57:11.24 its not teaching that people die and go to heaven, 00:57:11.27\00:57:13.47 its not teaching an eternally burning hell, 00:57:13.50\00:57:15.10 these all remnants of teaching that came out of the dark ages 00:57:15.13\00:57:18.68 through the great spiritual formation of Babylon 00:57:18.71\00:57:22.04 that has inhabited the churches today. 00:57:22.07\00:57:24.22 Here at House Call, we believe 00:57:24.25\00:57:25.62 that Lord is coming back one day to call us home. 00:57:25.65\00:57:27.50 We want to be ready for that, 00:57:27.53\00:57:29.03 the call to come out of Babylon is being preached today. 00:57:29.06\00:57:31.45 May God move upon your heart to respond. God bless you. 00:57:31.48\00:57:35.35
